"She really did" Jax replies truthfully. Taking a deep breath, Nero lets the younger man into the house, Jax sits down at the kitchen table as Nero goes into Gemma's room she looks up at him as he announces "You got a visitor, babe" Gemma lays down her book and takes off her glasses as she asks "who is it?" Nero replies in a simple voice "Jax"

Chapter 4: Ready For Forgiveness?

Gemma looked up at Nero expecting him to say something else, but he doesn't so she asked "What does he want?" Nero shrugs his shoulders replying "I don't know" That said Gemma just sits on her bed not moving then says "go and see what he wants because I don't want to see or talk to him right now" With a word Nero walks into the kitchen where Jax is sitting waiting he pauses a second trying to think of what to say to Jax especially since he's angry at him as well, he just hid his feelings better then Gemma.

"Hey Mano" he starts as he sits down across from the younger man.

"Hey, where is my mom?" He asks hoping he talk to her and work this out.

"She's in her room" Nero answers calmly.

Nero decides to get right to the point "Look Jax, what do you want?"

Jax looks at him confused, but replies "What you mean? I want to talk with my mother"

Still staying calm, Nero replies "Gemma asked me to come out here to ask you what you want because she's still upset about last night and she doesn't want to talk with you right now"

Jax nods his head in understanding "I understand she doesn't want to talk to me I don't blame her, but Nero please come on she's my mother and..I want to apologize to her tell her I'm sorry for what went down last night"

Nero takes a deep breath rubbing his hands over his face trying to decide what to do without another word he gets up, goes into Gemma's room and sits on the bed beside her she looks up at him and smiles "So what does he want?" She asks without him even having to say anything.

Nero tells her the truth "He wants to talk to you, apologize for last night" Gemma looks at him with surprise "Really that fast, something or someone must have gotten to him" Gemma smirks. Nero shakes his head "Wendy did" Gemma half laughed "Wendy huh?" she said, continuing "it must have been some talk" Nero nodded in agreement "Yep must have, so what do you want me to tell him?" He asked as he kisses her.

Gemma thought about this for a few minutes feeling she has really no choice because Jax is already there so she says to Nero "tell him I'll be right out, but I don't know if I can forgive him yet" Gemma smiles at him as Nero walks back into the kitchen announcing to the younger man "She said she'll talk with you" As Nero gets up from the bed he stops at the door, turning around to face Gemma once again "I'll give you two some privacy, I'll be in Lucius's room if you two need anything" adding "be civil" Without another word Nero leaves for his son's room leaving Gemma alone with her thoughts.

Meanwhile Gemma's still in her room leaning her head back against the headboard after a few seconds she looks down at her stomach smiling as she puts a hand to it rubbing it whispering "Mommy loves you, baby" as she pulls back the covers from over her body, slips out of bed and heads for the kitchen calmly though inside she's still very angry with her son, when Jax sees his mother standing there he gets up from the chair, taking his hands out of his pockets then wraps his arms around his mother embracing her, Gemma doesn't know how to react she can't put her arms around her son she's still so angry with him so she lets him hug her as she keeps her hands down at her side motionless.

After a long few minutes, Jax backs away from the embrace looking at his mother, Gemma is standing there arms folded under her with a blank look on her face, but Jax can tell she's still angry with him. Gemma motions for him to sit down as she follows close behind to the table herself, sitting down across from her son there's an awkward silence between the two.

Jax looks down at the floor then up at his mother thinking what am I going to say to her? Jax rubs his hands over his face. After a short silence Jax starts speaking choosing his words carefully "Mom, I'm sorry for being such an asshole about this whole thing" Gemma raises an eyebrow "that's it? That's all you have to say" she asks with angry, but civil tone. Jax takes a deep breath "I don't know what else to say" Gemma angrily whispers, pointing her manicured fingernail at him "bullshit you outta have a lot to say, after all you had a lot to say last night" Jax calmly nods his head in agreement "You're right, Mom, but I really love you and I want you to forgive me I didn't mean what I said" Gemma shakes her head saying "Jax I love you too, but I can't forgive you yet, I just can't" Jax puts his hands up stopping motioning Gemma not to say anymore "Okay..well I better go I got club shit to do" The younger man walks towards the door stopping at it looking at his mother one last time before slamming the door behind him. Gemma sighs deeply closing her eyes at the sound of the door whispering to herself shit

Gemma walks back to Nero whose in Lucius's room where father and son are playing a game of Monopoly together on the floor, Nero looks up at her from the floor. "Hey Mama, how did it go with Jax?" He asks curiously. Gemma's not sure she should tell him with Lucius in the room with them, but the kid is smart so she figures she mind as well tell him, she sits down on the floor with the two joining in the game as she says "It didn't go well" she announces "Oh baby, I'm sorry what happened?" Nero asks with a sad look on his face "We talked and I told him I couldn't forgive him yet, he left angry"

Nero puts his hand on her shoulder saying "I'm sorry, but I don't blame you what he said was uncalled for and awful so whenever you're ready to forgive him I'll support you all the way I love you so much, Gemma" He kisses her on the lips. She smiles "I love you too, Nero" As Nero and Lucius finished their game, Gemma looks at Nero and he looks at her "You think we should tell him now?" She asks him, he nods his head yes "it's the perfect time I think"

Nero takes Gemma's hand into his as they look at Lucius whose curiously looking at them as he says "what's going on?" Clearing her throat nervously making eye contact with Lucius she then looks at Nero for support "go ahead tell him" Gemma smiles at Lucius making eye contact with him once again she decides to just say it to get it over with it before she loses her nerve "I'm going to have a baby, you're going to have a little brother or a sister soon" The couple brace themselves for Lucius's reaction to the news that's when Lucius screams in happiness saying "a baby, yay" then adds "I can't wait for my little sister or brother to come"

Gemma and Nero go over to him giving him a hug and kiss. "We are so happy that you're happy about this" Gemma breathes a sigh of relief so does Nero although in his mind he knew that Lucius wouldn't be mad at it. Lucius pats Gemma's stomach lightly whispering "I can't wait to see you" Nero kisses Gemma on her forehead whispering "see I told you he'd be happy about it" Gemma lightly smacks him on his shoulder "Okay, okay I give up you won" Nero chuckles at her comment as he picks Lucius carrying him into the kitchen "come on Mijo let's get some breakfast" Gemma cleans up the game, putting it back where it was before then gets up from the floor so relieved they told Lucius about the baby.

Gemma walks back into the dining room looking through her purse for her phone, finding it she decides this is the time to make an appointment with an obstetrician to make sure their baby is okay, she dials St, Thomas's hospital and gets a hold of an O.B. Dr. Allison Shyer, Dr. Shyer is happy to make the appointment for Gemma, Gemma listens to the doctor whose telling her when the appointment is and what time, Gemma nods her confirming she'll be there with Nero, then hangs up her phone. Gemma walks into the kitchen where Nero has made coffee and Lucius is eating some cereal, she sits down at the table announcing "I have an appointment with the obstetrician on March 7th at 9am" Nero smiles at her "I'll be there with you" Gemma smiles at him "I know you will"

Two Days later - March 7th 8am

Gemma and Nero are awake, but not out of bed yet. Nero has his hands over Gemma's stomach protectively while she holds his hand, she turns over to look at his beautiful face "Hey baby we have our first doctor's appointment today at 9am" Nero yawns "I know Mama, I just wanna stay in here with you for a bit more is that okay?" He asks kissing gently. "Of course it's okay, but you know we haven't made love in a while" Nero stares at her with a raised eyebrow "well whose fault is that, it ain't mine" Gemma sits up on her elbows on the bed, looking at him her mouth gaping open "you can't be serious you can't think it's my fault, don't answer that" She tells him. Nero says simply "Okay" shrugging his shoulders staying quiet while Gemma sighs heavily arms crossed a bit annoyed staring at him silently as Nero laughs at her "It's not funny you asshole, I'm a pregnant woman here" Nero nods his head "I know that's how we got into this mess in the first place if you remember" he says seductively kissing her passionately. Gemma laughs loudly saying "Oh I remember alright" as Nero crawls on top her trailing kisses down her neck.

After a few more minutes of cuddling the couple decides to get up and get dressed for the day, Nero is dressed in just a few seconds while Gemma is trying to find something to wear luckily she hasn't grow out of her clothes just yet. Gemma finally finds some clothes to wear and puts them on. Meanwhile Nero goes into Lucius's room to get him up and help him get dressed, Gemma and Nero figured it wouldn't be such a good idea to have Lucius come along with them to their first doctor's appointment, so Gemma had called the clubhouse asking if any of the boys were free could they watch Lucius for them they said Chibs and Rat were free Gemma said they be at T.M. within a few minutes the guys said that was fine.

8:30am

Gemma is in the kitchen making coffee for Nero, Gemma knows she can't have regular coffee so she decides to have some orange juice instead, she also makes herself some breakfast as well she makes a bowl of cereal. Nero is still in Lucius's room helping him dress because of his spinal bifida he takes him a little more time to get dressed than the average child. Finally five more minutes Lucius comes into view Gemma sees him and quickly gets up to help him walk to the kitchen with Nero also helping him. The boy reaches the kitchen, Nero sits him into the chair, Gemma pours him some cereal into a bowl, putting some milk in it, walking over to drawer she gets a spoon, handing it to the boy he smiles at her "thank you, Gemma" Gemma just smiles as she gets Nero some coffee "Thanks, baby" Nero says "Sure"

The three quickly finish breakfast then head to the clubhouse, then to their first appointment. Gemma grabs her purse, keys and phone, then Nero grabs his keys as well locking the door behind him as he follows Gemma and Lucius once outside Lucius is standing there waiting beside Gemma, then the two of them take Lucius's hands into their own and help him walk to the car.

8:45am

They get to car within a few minutes Nero sits Lucius down in the car and buckles his seat belt. Nero and Gemma then get into the car with Gemma driving they put their seat belts on and drive to T.M. Gemma arrives there a few minutes later, Nero gets out from the passenger seat and unbuckles Lucius's seat belt while Gemma waits in the car, Nero takes his son's hand and walks him into T.M. spotting Chibs and Rat in the clubhouse he kisses his son on the cheek while saying "be good okay, Mijo Gemma and I will be back to get you soon" With that Nero walks out heads towards Gemma's car, putting his seat belt on, they head off to their appointment both nervous about hoping their baby is okay.

8:55am

The couple arrive at St. Thomas's hospital, they get out of the car walking together hand in hand towards the building, Nero opens the door for Gemma letting her enter first, he once again takes her hand as they walk onto the elevator up to the OB-GYN floor, once they get off the elevator they walk up the receptionist whose name is Shelly "May I help you?" She asks with smile. Gemma looks around for a second making sure no one she knew was listening then says "Gemma Teller for Dr. Allison Shyer I have an appointment" Shelly looks at her "Oh yes of course Gemma, the doctor will be with you in a few minutes just wait over there" she says pointing to a few chairs that sat in the waiting room.

Gemma nods her head, Gemma drags Nero with her they sat down next to each other while waiting for her doctor to call her. After 5 minutes the nurse Melissa looks down at her patient list, calling out from the hallway "Gemma Teller" Gemma gets up from the chair with Nero taking her hand, Gemma and Nero continue walking down the hallway scanning the rooms as they did until Melissa stops at room 12 opening the door letting the couple in, she hands Gemma a hospital gown "put this on and Dr. Shyer will be with you in a few" Gemma takes the gown from the nurse as she closes the door without another word. Gemma takes off her clothes putting on the gown, she nervously sits down on the examining table, Nero walks over to her sitting on the table trying to calm her nervousness whispering "It's gonna be alright, Mama" He puts his hand on her stomach rubbing it as she leans her head into his body silently praying that he's right.

Just then the door opens revealing a young woman with medium long hair and brown eyes, smiling at the couple she introduces herself "Hello, I'm Dr. Allison Shyer" she says extending her hand to Gemma. Gemma smiles a little shaking the doctor's hand "Gemma" Dr. Shyer looks to Nero "And you are?" She asks. "Nero, the baby's father" Dr. Shyer nods "I see, well Gemma let's see how you and this baby are doing" The doctor instructs Gemma to lie down on the examining table and explains "Gemma, I have to do a pelvic exam to confirm your pregnancy so put your legs up and we'll get started" the older woman nods putting her legs up opening them the doctor grabs some gloves snapping them on and then grabs a stool and sits down next she put some gel onto her two fingers and places them into her opening, she, gasps and grimaces as the doctor's fingers continue moving inside her, Nero quickly grabbed his wife's hand, she squeezes it hard, after a few more minutes the doctor finally takes her fingers out and snaps off her gloves announcing "Well, you're definitely pregnant about a month" adding."You can put your legs down now" she nodded as Allison put the blood pressure cuff on her arm, squeezing the bulb at the end making sure it's tight, she looks down at the number on dial to get the reading which says 120/80 "You're blood pressure is good" she says as she strips the cuff off Gemma's arm, she then checks Gemma's heart and breathing with her stethoscope "You're breathing and heart rate sound good" Then Gemma lays back on the table lifting up her shirt "this gel might be a little cold" Allison says as she turns on the ultrasound machine, squeezing the gel onto Gemma's stomach as Gemma gasps slightly at coldness of the gel, Dr. Shyer takes the doppler putting it over the gel, she presses a few buttons on the machine and within a few seconds a tiny blob about the size of a pea appears on the screen, Dr. Shyer announces "There's your baby, it's very tiny" Nero takes Gemma's hand as she has tears streaming down her face, Nero kisses her on her forehead whispering "There's our baby, Mama"

Dr. Shyer gently wipes the gel off Gemma's stomach as she sits up on the table. Dr. Shyer then gives them their first picture "here's your first baby picture" Gemma smiles "Thank you" Clearing her throat Dr. Shyer starts asking questions "do you have a health problems or anything I should know about?" Gemma nods her head "I have a heart condition the family flaw, Nero also has a heart condition as well" Hearing that, Dr. Shyer is now very concerned about Gemma's pregnancy. "Oh boy well because of your age and your heart condition you are definitely a high risk pregnancy, so I want to an eye on you by doing a lot of ultrasounds and keeping an eye on the baby's heart" Gemma nods in understanding. "How are you feeling so far?" She asks as Gemma looks at her "the morning sickness has been pretty bad" Allison nods "Yeah that's not uncommon at this time, but just so you know you can't smoke, drink or do drugs" Gemma says "I know I haven't done any of that at all everytime I've tried it's made me sick" Allison comments "well good, but you still need to take your heart medication though" Gemma looks at strangely "I know that doc, but thanks" Dr. Shyer continues "Do you have any other questions or concerns?" Gemma nods no, she turns to Nero asking the same question "No" Dr. Shyer helps her sit up adding "the baby will be due December 21sr" Gemma and Nero nod "Okay, thanks, a Christmas baby" Nero smiles "Yeah, that's gonna be fun" Gemma just glares at him.

Still looking at Gemma the doctor announces "I want to see you back here in 2 months just to be sure the baby is okay if you have any questions or concerns about anything, give me a call day or night I'm always here They both nod as she adds oh here's your prenatal vitamins" she said handing Gemma the bottle. Nero helps her down from the table she grabs his hand. Dr. Shyer says goodbye to the couple and tells Gemma to make another appointment with her in two months she promises she will.

The couple leaves the room so happy their baby is okay. Getting on the elevator they head to out of the hospital Nero offers to drive to T.M. while Gemma sits in the passenger seat. Nero arrives at T.M. within 15 minutes, he gets out of the car spotting Lucius on the swings Chibs and Rat are taking turns pushing him, Nero shouts "Hey mijo!" Nero runs over to the swings "Hey papi, how is my baby?" Nero looks at him weird as do Chibs and Rat that's when Lucius whispers in Nero's ear "my baby brother or sister" Nero chuckles whispering back to him "It's fine I promise, let's go home" Nero lefts up Lucius in his arms and carries him "Thanks guys for taking care of him" Both Chibs and Rat nod saying "no problem" Once the father and son are out of the clubhouse and on the parking lot, Nero puts Lucius down helping him walk to the car. Putting him into the seat, he straps him with the seat belt, then the family takes off for home.

A Week Later

It's been a week since Gemma had refused to forgive Jax because he had told her to get an abortion, but now that she's seen her and Nero's baby she has a change of heart she wants Jax to be apart of his siblings life she had lost so many people already she didn't want to lose Jax too, her family was her life. Once home Gemma calls picks up her phone punches in Jax's number and waits for the line to be picked up after a few rings a voice answers "Hello?" Gemma answers back "Hey, I need you to come over to my house I need to talk to you" Jax sighs in a frustrated tone "Jesus Christ, Mom a week of no calls or nothin' and now you want to talk" Gemma sighs "Jax please stop being an asshole" – Jax stopped his mother "Alright, damn I'll come over, see ya in a few" and the line went dead, Thanks to all the stress Gemma groans whispering to herself "I need a cigarette" she looks in her purse, finds her pack of cigarettes, takes one one out of the pack, putting it to her lips, but doesn't light it just holds it there in her mouth, she breathes in the scent of the cigarette although it's not the same as actually smoking it's better then nothing right now because she doesn't want anything happening to this baby.

A few minutes later hearing a knock at the door, Gemma put her cigarette back in her purse then gets up from the chair to answer the door, she opens the door revealing Jax on the other side, Gemma steps aside letting her son in, Jax sits down in the chair in kitchen "what's all this about, Mom?" He asks curiously. Gemma sits down taking her son's hand "I forgive you" she says simply. Jax looks at her confused "What?" Gemma repeats what she said "I said I forgive you" Jax's cannot believe what he's hearing she forgives me Jax then asks "why?" Gemma thinks about this as today is her first doctor's appointment for her pregnancy, she smiles. "I had my first appointment to see how the baby's doing and I just" Gemma starts getting emotional "I don't want to lose you, I've already lost so much already, I want you to be a part of this baby's life and I realize that you were only concerned about me, I understand that" Gemma wipes tears from her eyes.

Jax gets up from his chair, walks around to his mother's side grabbing her hand pulling her in his arms as she continues to cry softly. Jax whispers "I love you, Mom" Gemma has stopped crying now, but has a tear stained face she whispers back "I love you too, Jax with all my heart" Gemma kisses him on his cheek and gave him a real mother hug this time. Sighing with relief Gemma says to Jax "I'm so happy that's over" Jax chuckles "me too, well I've gotta go club run" Gemma nodded "well okay then, see ya later, baby" Gemma gave Jax a hug, Jax hugged her back, then leaves as Gemma looks on from the kitchen.

A Few Hours Later – 9pm

Nero has just put Lucius to bed, Gemma is getting ready for bed by putting on her pajamas, When Nero comes back into the bedroom, Gemma is still awake she's knitting, he gets into the bed beside her watching as she continues knitting some more she looks over at him "What?" Nero shrugs "nothin' Mama" Gemma puts the knitting needle down onto the table, she turns around to face Nero, all the sudden he starts caressing her face with his hand gently then kisses her passionately putting his tongue into her mouth as the passion unites them, Nero trails kisses down her collarbone then her neck, he starts to touch her breasts making Gemma shiver at his touch, she moans softly as she takes off her shirt leaving her bra as Nero takes off his shirt, getting on top of her, he sheds her bra exposing her breasts, Nero sucks on her breasts, feeling them as they are hard, Gemma moans loudly as Nero's hand travels down Gemma's pants into her underwear, he feels wetness whispering "your so wet, baby" Nero circles her clit with his finger, teasing her "baby don't tease me" she says breathing heavily. Nero smiles at her as he gently puts his finger inside her moving it in and out of her as she groans "oh god, Nero, don't stop"

Nero continues with his finger inside her when she whispers to him "I need you inside me, Nero now" She begs, he obliges her, he takes off his pants, Gemma can feel his hardness against her thighs she shivers, Gemma grips the bed sheets, arching her back as Nero enters her moving in and out, Gemma lifts her legs around Nero keeping him inside her, she moans loudly as each thrust moves deeper into her body, she looks at Nero as he looks at her lovingly, Gemma wraps her arms around Nero as he's still inside her she kisses him passionately.

After a few minutes Gemma climaxes as Nero pulls out of her rolling off to the other side of the bed, breathing heavy she chuckles contently turning over on her side facing Nero she plays with his hair softly whispering to him "Thank you, baby I needed that" Nero holds her "I know" Nero kisses her stomach talking to their baby "Daddy loves you, baby we can't wait to see you" Gemma smiles lovingly as Nero continues to talk to the baby.

Yawning Gemma is so exhausted now between the love making they did and the pregnancy she can't even keep her eyes open anymore, Nero too is getting sleepy, it's been a long day for them Gemma turns over on her side as Nero comes behind her putting his arms around her as they both fall asleep in a peaceful slumber.
