A Few Notes For This Chapter: Dear my readers, I apologize that I haven't gotten this up sooner, major computer issues came up while writing this chapter, but I'm back now to continue with this story there's a lot more to come.

Just when the two women think nothing more amazing can happen it does, they watch as Jax's eyes slowly open...Gemma's so happy she's crying as is Wendy, tears streaming down their faces "Hey, baby" Gemma sniffles wiping her face. Relieved and ecstatic all three pull each other into a hug "We did it, we got through this in one piece" Gemma whispers.

Chapter 9: Trying To Get Back To Normal

Three Weeks Later: St. Thomas Hospital Morning -10am

Wendy runs out to get Jax's doctor, Dr. Hampton arrives quickly looking at Jax, she takes the pen light out of her breast pocket shines the light into Jax's eyes "Pupils are equal round and reactive, that's good" she clicks off the light putting the light back into her pocket. Jax points to his breathing tube "Yes I'm going to take that out now, is that what you want?" Dr. Hampton asks, Jax moves his head up and down "Okay, I'm going to disconnect the tube, I need you to take a deep breath as I'm taking out the tube blow out, do you understand?" Jax nods in understanding. Dr. Hampton disconnects the tube, Jax takes a deep breath as the doctor pulls out the stylet, Jax coughs hard as the tube comes out "Don't talk right away your throat is going to hurt for a while since the tube was in for a few weeks" Gemma hands him some water "Here, baby" She holds the cup for him as he drinks the water "Thanks" He says hoarsely.

Gemma just looks at him "I'm so happy you're wake" Jax grimaces "What's wrong, baby?" Gemma asks noticing Jax's expression "My head hurts...what happened?" Gemma's confused "You don't know"Jax says "No" Gemma looks at him sadly "You had an accident with you bike you fell and hit your head, you've been in a coma for the last 3 weeks" Jax's is shocked when he hears all this "Shit, Ma" Gemma nods "Yeah I know" Wendy smiles moving next to Gemma "Hey, baby" she says kissing him. Jax smiles back "Hey, how are you and Abel?" Wendy chuckles "I'm fine now and so is Abel, I have him here" she smiles.

Dr. Hampton comes back into the room "Hello Jax, I'm your doctor, Dr. Hampton I just wanted to let you know you might have memory issues and even some headaches because of your head injury which was pretty serious it's how you ended up in the coma" Jax shakes her head as he listens to her " Nice to meet you, my head hurts can I get some pain medication?" Dr. Hampton nods "Sure, I'll have the nurse bring it for you" Jax replies "Thanks, when can I go home?" Dr. Hampton thinks for a moment "Well if there's no complications I'd say in a few days a week at most" Jax breathes heavily "Thanks for everything, I can't wait to go home" Dr. Hampton shakes her head "I bet, so glad your okay and getting better" The doctor shakes the rest of their hands and leaves.

Gemma can't believe her baby is finally awake these last few weeks were just so bad, she thought she wasn't going to make it through, but she has and so has Jax. Jax looks over at his mother "Ma, how are you?" Gemma smiles "I'm fine, sweetheart now that you're awake, I have some news Nero and I are engaged" Jax just smiles not saying anything "Aren't you going to say something?" Gemma asks curiously. He shakes his no. Gemma replies "Why?" "No, because I'm not surprised, congratulations Ma, I'm happy for you" Gemma hugs him "Thank you" She brushes his hair back, he puts his hand on her stomach rubbing it "How's the baby?" Gemma replies "It's fine, I felt it move recently it was incredible feeling especially for Nero"

Nero gets up from his chair "Well I gotta get back to work, Mama" Nero kisses her goodbye "Okay, have a good day" Gemma says hugging him. Nero says goodbye to Wendy and Jax before leaving. Gemma sunk back in her chair, she missed Nero already. Gemma rubs her stomach, closing her eyes Tara puts her hand on Gemma's shoulder "Hey Gemma, you okay?" She asks concerned "Yeah I'm fine I just miss Nero" Wendy replies "I get it and I'm happy for you two, you guys are great together" she smiled.

Wendy brings Abel over to Jax's bed turning his carrier around facing him. "Hey little man" Jax greeted his only son.

Gemma's starting to get heartburn all the sudden "ooh" She holds her chest as the bile taste rises up into her throat, it's actually starting to make her feel a bit sick to her stomach"Gemma, what's wrong?" Wendy asked her mother-in-law "heartburn and it's making me a bit sick" she answered back the blonde winces "ooh yikes" Gemma nodded "Yeah" Wendy hands Gemma's purse to her "Thanks, baby" Wendy smiles "You're welcome you gonna be okay?" Gemma takes a deep breath "I hope so" Gemma opens her purse taking out the bottle of TUMS popping a few of them into her mouth, chewing them up hoping they'll make her feel better.

Meanwhile Gemma's trying to get her heartburn to go away. but so far it's not working even with the TUMS, she groans "ugh" Hearing Gemma groan, Wendy is concerned "Gem, is there anything I can do?" Gemma nods "No, baby, thanks for asking though" After a few moments Wendy notices Gemma's pale face "Gem..." Wendy starts to say as Gemma runs out of the room as fast as she can leaving Wendy confused and concerned.

Gemma reaches the bathroom just in time, running in the stall with her hand over her mouth she drops down over the toilet as the vomit comes up into her throat, she holds her hair back; after a few minutes she's gasping and coughing, trying to take some calming deep breaths hoping the nausea stops as she leans her back against the wall of the stall, she's now dizzy and a bit disoriented.

Meanwhile back in the room Abel and Jax are awake "Where's Ma?" He asks looking around, Wendy sighs putting her hands on her hips "I don't know she ran out of the room while you were sleeping, I'm gonna go check and see where she is..I'm a little concerned about her" Jax nodded "Okay, I'm going go look for her" with that she leaves the room leaving Abel with his father.

Wendy walks around the hospital, while asking a few nurses and doctors if they had seen Gemma, they hadn't, but since Gemma ran out and the fact she's pregnant Wendy put two and two together and decided to check the women's bathroom, she walks in looking in a few stalls finding no one, but when looking in the last one she finds Gemma against the wall somewhat unconscious, shocked at Gemma's appearance, which is pale and a bit sweaty, Wendy gently shakes her mother in law's shoulder "Gemma...Gemma" Gemma opens her eyes slowly looking over at Wendy moaning in distress, Wendy looks at very concerned "Are you okay, what happened?" Gemma's quiet, but hoarsely whispers "I was throwing up again and after that I tried to get up and couldn't...I was really lightheaded, dizzy and a bit disoriented" Wendy nodded in understanding "Okay, you need to see a doctor so I'm going help you up and get a doctor to check you out and don't even think about arguing with me Gemma you have no choice in the matter" Gemma just glared at Wendy not saying a word the younger woman helps Gemma up from the floor putting her arm around the older woman's waist flushing the toilet.

Gemma can barely stand nor walk so Wendy continues holding onto her. Wendy stands beside Gemma as she washes her mouth of the vomit taste then washes her hands. "Are you ready?" Wendy asked, the older woman nodded her head just barely. They continue to walk out of the bathroom, Wendy guided Gemma over to an empty chair outside the hallway, sitting her down in an empty chair "Stay here, Gem I'm gonna find a doctor" Wendy would have taken Gemma into Jax's room, but she doesn't want to scare him.

Wendy arrives with a doctor within a few minutes, Dr. Emily Wilkes Wendy shakes Gemma's shouder gently. Gemma smiles at her "Hey doc" Wendy introduces the doctor she's found

"Gemma, this is Dr. Emily Wilkes, I've asked her to check you out okay"

Gemma just nodded she's not in the mood to fight right now. As Dr. Wilkes is looking Gemma over including listen to her heart with her stethoscope, Wendy asked "Do you want me to call Nero, Gemma?" Gemma shook her head "No, I don't want to bother him, besides it'll just worry him" Wendy starts to protest "Gemma he loves you, he'd want to be there for you especially with you being like this" Dr. Wilkes pinches the skin on Gemma's wrist to check for dehydration.

The skin stayed pinched "Well she's definitely dehydrated, I'm going to have to put her on an I.V. drip of saline" Dr. Wilkes says looking at Wendy concerned.

"I'll be right back with the saline, you stay here with her" Wendy nodded as Dr. Wilkes walked off to the get the IV and saline. Once Dr. Wilkes is gone Wendy tries to keep Gemma alert and conscious "Gemma, you've gotta stay awake" but it's not working Gemma is now unconscious.

The doctor is back, she bends down rubbing an alcohol wipe on Gemma's vain cleaning it, as Wendy mentions "Doctor, thought you should know...Gemma's pregnant" Dr. Wilkes hid her surprise at the news and composes herself "Thanks, Wendy for letting me know we'll definitely have to hydrate her" Wendy agrees "Yeah I know, I'll be right back" Dr. Wilkes nodded as she injects the saline into Gemma's arm then puts the bag on the I.V. pole squeezing it, the saline drips into the I.V. within a few minutes of getting the saline drip Gemma slowly opens her eyes, her vision a bit blurry still "Gemma" Dr. Wilkes calls looking at her just then Wendy returns a relieved expression on her face seeing her mother-in-law awake "Oh thank god you're wake" Gemma's vision is now fine.

Hearing Wendy's voice, Gemma moved her head to look at her, Wendy takes her hand, looking into her dark green-brown eyes "I know you didn't want me to do this, but I felt I had to I called Nero, he's on his way here" Wendy held her breath waiting nervously for the older woman's reaction hoping she won't be too upset or kill her. Gemma just sat there saying nothing to Wendy's revelation, Wendy thinks Well that's a good a sign Wendy looked at her "Are you okay, Gem?" Gemma nodded "Yeah, I'm feeling a lot better" Dr. Wilkes replies honestly "The reason you're feeling better is because we re-hydrated you" The doctor added "Wendy told me you're pregnant" Gemma gives her usual glare that Wendy knows all too well "I'm sorry, Gemma I had to you were unconscious, not to mention dehydrated"

A few minutes later, Wendy looked up to see Nero running down the hallway, Wendy walked halfway to him putting her hand out to stop him "Hey, how is she?" He asked with a concerned look in his eyes, Wendy takes a deep breath "She's okay now we re-hydrated her with saline" Nero breathed a sigh of relief "Can I see her?" Wendy nodded "Of course, over here" Wendy put her hand on his shoulder leading Nero over to the chairs where Gemma is sitting there with an I.V. hooked into her vain.

Nero sat down into the chair, taking Gemma's hand into his, her hand feels clammy to the touch and she's still looking a bit pale "Hey, Mama" he greets her, brushing her hair from her face. Gemma groans turning her head towards the sound of Nero's voice "Hey, I didn't want you knowing about this, didn't want you to worry..I'm sorry" Gemma cries. "Hey, Hey, it's okay, Mama, not gonna lie I was worried when Wendy called, but I'm here, if you'll let me be" he says looking at her waiting for her to say something, but she doesn't she's too out of it still.

Wendy pats Gemma's knee standing up "I'm going to go back to check on Jax and Abel, I'll be right back" Gemma grabbed Wendy's arm as she started to walk away "Please, don't tell Jax about this" Wendy exhales, shaking her head putting her hand on her forehead exasperated "Gemma..." she starts to say.."Please" Gemma begged, taking a deep breath, looking at Nero who just shrugs his shoulders saying nothing "Okay" Wendy says simply walking away leaving Gemma and Nero alone.

Wendy walks back into the room, Jax looks up at her "Hey, did you find mom?" He asks, as Wendy nervously smiles at him "Yeah" He asks "Is she okay?" Wendy fidgets with her hands, Jax notices this "Babe, something wrong?" Wendy's debating on whether to tell Jax or not, but Gemma's words echo in her head over and over again Please don't tell Jax about this Wendy knows Gemma wouldn't like it one bit if she told Jax about what's going on with her, but then again she did tell Nero, but Nero is the baby's father, so that outweighs Jax.

After thinking a few more minutes, Wendy answers him "No, everything's fine, I'm gonna go back outside for a minute, you watch Abel" Jax says "Okay" Wendy goes back outside to check on Gemma, Nero is still sitting right where he was when she left a few minutes ago.

Wendy bends down to check Gemma's I.V. there's still some saline in it, but Gemma seems to be better for now, her color is back to normal and her lips aren't chapped anymore Nero stays with Gemma while Wendy goes to get the doctor who takes out Gemma's I.V. putting a cotton ball and band aid where the puncher hole was.

After a few more minutes Wendy and Nero let go of Gemma confidence she can walk on her own now. Nero walks over to her "Listen Mama, I gotta go back to work, Lyla's probably needing help right now" Nero gives her a kiss and gently touches her stomach "Okay" She whispers "I'll see you at home" Nero nodded walking away as Wendy joins her mother in law to walk back to Jax's room.

Gemma and Wendy make it back to Jax's room a few seconds later, Gemma smiles at Jax walking over giving him a kiss on his cheek "Hey, baby" she greets him. "Hey Ma, you okay you were gone for a while I was worried" Gemma nodded "Yeah I'm fine" Jax looks over from Gemma to Wendy for any indication of anything wrong he doesn't see anything so he lets his mother's words slide.

A Few Days Later: Friday 12pm

Jax is finally being released from the hospital today, Gemma and Wendy are very happy it's been a long stressful very weeks for all of them. Gemma said she'd pick Jax up from the hospital. Gemma arrives at the hospital a few minutes after 12pm, she goes to Jax's room, knocking on the door "Hey, baby" she says smiling, he's laying in bed watching TV already dressed "Hey, Mom, I'm ready to go" He announces, Gemma put her arms around him, giving him a hug. The two walk out of the room and to reception to sign the discharge papers, Jax signs them as mother and son leave relieved this mess is finally coming to an end.

Gemma drives Jax to TM so he could get back to club business, As Jax steps out of the car the boys happily run over to him, hugging him tightly "Hey man, so glad your back!" Tig exclaims. Bobby, Juice and the others follow Tig's lead and hug Jax welcoming him back "Welcome back, brother, we're so glad your with us again so let's get back on the road" Half Sack says as Jax goes to the office to let his mother know what's going on "Hey Mom, I'm gonna go take off with the boys now" Gemma has her glasses on, reading a report. Gemma takes off her glasses placing him on the desk she looks at Jax "Okay, baby you be careful" She gets up from the desk putting her arm around, giving him a peck on his cheek, he smiles "I will, see ya later"

Meanwhile Gemma is concerned about Jax being out the road again for the first time after his accident, but she's also missing Nero so she decides to call him, he picks up on the first ring "Hey, Mama, did you pick up Jax from the hospital?" He asks. "Yeah, I did he just went out with the boys, I'm worried, baby" Gemma says, Nero can hear the concern in her voice. "Babe, it's gonna be okay, Jax is gonna be fine, he's strong like you, you gotta stay calm for the baby" Nero tries to calm Gemma's fears, reminding her about the baby, she smiles rubbing her stomach "I know" she whispers trying to stay calm knowing Nero is right "You're right, baby" Nero smiles on the other end "I love you, two so much" Gemma smiles hearing that "We love you, too we'll see you later on tonight" She says as she paces around the office drinking some water Tig got her a few minutes ago.

Later that night, Gemma and Nero are home from work, Lucius is in his room coloring while Jax is still out on the road with the guys and Abel is with his mother. Kayla left when Gemma and Nero returned home. The couple is in their room, Gemma has her reading glasses on reading a book while Nero is taking a shower.

Gemma puts her hand to her stomach softly talking to her baby "I know you can't hear yet, but mommy loves you so much, baby, I can't wait to meet you" A few moments later Gemma looks up from her book to see Nero coming out of the shower with only a towel wrapped around his waist "oooh!" Nero smirks "like what you, see?" Gemma nods calling him over "Come here" Nero obeys walking over to her, he gives her a kiss as his mouth moves down to her neck tasting her, she moans taking the towel off his waist where it lands on the floor, he's now naked, pressing his body on top of hers, she can feel his erect hard member against her inner thigh she wants him inside her more than anything at the moment, but realizes that Lucius would be able to hear them. "Wait, baby" Gemma sat up stopping him "What's wrong, Mama, is it the baby?" Gemma shook her head "No, the baby's fine, but Lucius is still up remember" Nero smacks himself "Shit, I forgot" He apologizes "It's okay, I forgot too for a about a second" She says breathing heavily "See what you do to me you make me forget about everything when you come out in just a towel" Nero agrees smiling "Hey now, what do you think you do to me, huh?" Gemma nods looking at his member, getting his point "Well I see it doesn't take you long to get to that" pointing to his member. Nero says "See, told you" Gemma nodded "Don't worry, baby I assure we'll have lots more sex under our belts so to speak" They kiss each other "Oh, I know we will, I'm not disappointed" Nero gets off Gemma, quickly getting dressed and putting the towel in the wash.

Nero kisses his son on his forehead "Night, Mijo" turning off the lights in the room and returns to his and Gemma's bedroom for the night.

He walks into their bedroom and sees Gemma asleep with her book open on her chest, he removes the book from her putting it on the table next to her. Yawning himself he slips into the covers beside Gemma, holding her close to him whispering "I love you" as he drifts off into a peaceful sleep.

A Month Later: July 12th 8am

Gemma is sitting on the couch on the phone with her doctor making another doctor's appointment being 4 months pregnant she and Nero can now find out their baby's gender, Gemma can't wait. Gemma grabs a pen and paper jotting down the day and time of the appointment "Okay so it's July 15th at 3pm" Gemma hangs up her phone just as Nero arrives home "Hey, baby" Nero kisses her "Hey, Mama" He sits down beside her "How was your day?" Gemma smiles "fine, we have another doctor's appointment on the 15th at 3pm, I'm so excited we'll finally know if the baby is a boy or a girl" Nero smiles happily kissing her again "Mama's that's great I can't wait either, but I'd bet money I'm right about it being a girl..20 bucks" Gemma just laughs "Okay, Mr. betting man you're on, 20 bucks it's a deal" They shake on it.

Gemma goes into her room to grab her pills, seeing this Nero goes into the kitchen to get her some water "Here's some water to wash down the pills with" Gemma takes the water from him "Thanks, babe" Nero rubs the small of her back "You're welcome" After taking her pills Gemma yawns "Man, I'm really tired all the sudden" She announces to Nero whose standing beside her still. Gemma stands up "I think I'm gonna go back to sleep for a bit longer" Nero kisses her "Okay, you are going into work right?" He asks standing up "Yeah later on, Chucky is covering" Nero nods "You want some tea or something?" Gemma shakes her "No, thanks" She pats his chest, then heads off to her room.

Nero decides to make himself some coffee, just as he's starting the coffee there's a knock at the door, he goes to answer it "Hey morning, Kayla" He smiles at her "Hey Nero, Gemma called earlier and asked if I'd watch Lucius" Nero nods as he continues making his coffee "Gemma's still here she's getting some more sleep before she goes into work later on" Kayla nods understandingly "Oh okay, well I can make Lucius some breakfast if you have to go" Nero nods checking his watch "Shit yeah I do I'm late, I'll grab some breakfast at Disoa, thanks and see you later" After getting set with his coffee Nero heads out for work shutting the door quietly.

Two hours later, Gemma awakens to voices in the kitchen "Oh my god" she mumbled to herself as she turns over onto her back trying to wake up more. She sits up on the bed rubbing her eyes of sleep, she puts her hand to her stomach as she feels more movement "Hello, little one, mommy can't wait to know what you are" whispering to the baby smiling to herself. She walks over to the mirror in her room turning to the side, standing there she notices her stomach is a bit more rounder than before. Walking into the kitchen she spots Kayla and Lucius eating "Good morning, you two" Kayla and Lucius smile at her "Hey" they reply in unison.

As Gemma grabs a cup, Kayla remarks "Nero bought you some decaf coffee in case you wanted that since you can't drink regular coffee" Gemma looks at Kayla surprised "He did?" Kayla replies "Yeah, here I'll get it for you...you do want some don't you?" Gemma nods "Yeah, thanks" Kayla reaches in the cabinet and pulls out the bag handing it to Gemma "Here you go" Gemma replies "Thanks, sweetheart" Kayla replies back "You're welcome"

Gemma starts to make her coffee "So are you still going into work?" Kayla asks as Gemma leans back waiting for her coffee to start going. "Yeah I'm gonna go after I get my coffee and breakfast" Kayla nods "Okay...you know Gemma I notice you're filling out a bit more" Gemma glares incredulously at her for the comment "Excuse me?" Kayla points to Gemma's stomach "Your stomach it looks like the baby finally wants to make itself known" Gemma sighs getting what she meant "Oh yeah it is" She rubs her stomach "I can't wait to see what we are having, I have a doctor's appointment soon to find out" Kayla smiles "Congratulations"

Smacking the coffee machine trying to get it to work "Come on!" she remarks frustratingly, but it finally starts "finally, this damn thing takes forever to make coffee" Kayla laughs at the comment "No kidding, it took 5 minutes for me earlier" Dialing her phone, Gemma walks out of the kitchen into the bedroom for privacy while waiting for Nero to answer the phone, he does after the 2nd ring "Hey, baby I was just calling to say thanks for thinking of us by getting decaf coffee" Nero smiles "You're welcome, I figured you might want some and you know I'm always thinking about you" Gemma sits on the bed holding her coffee in her hand while still talking with Nero "Hey babe, I gotta go get dressed for work" Nero nods understandingly "Yeah I gotta get back to work too Lyla's at the door motioning me to help her with something, I love you, I'll see ya later" Gemma smiles sipping her coffee "I love you, babe" Gemma clicks off the phone.

Walking over to her dresser she opens it up looking for some jeans to wear hoping they'll still fit. She takes all her jeans out of the dresser throwing them onto the bed, she starts to try them on none fit, they are too tight, she sits on her frustrated, starting to cry softly to herself "Damn it..hormones" wiping the tears from her eyes she then tries on the last pair of jeans she's got, they fit relieved she grabs a shirt putting it on it still fits as well "Thank god, it looks like I'm gonna have to start getting maternity clothes" she whispers to herself.

She pads her way into the bathroom, brushing her hair, putting on her make-up then brushes her teeth as she does her gums start to bleed "god damn it" spitting the blood into the sink she slams the toothbrush down frustrated. Looking in the mirror one more time confident she looks okay she leaves going over to the table getting her coffee she sips it groans "ugh" it's now cold.

Making her way back into the kitchen she puts her coffee into the microwave to warm it up while waiting for the coffee she grabs the cereal and a bowl setting them down on the table, she pours it into the bowl, then grabs a spoon from the drawer, then gets the milk from the refrigerator, pouring it in the cereal. The microwave beeps letting Gemma know it's done as Gemma gets up to get the cup, Kayla stops her "I'll get it you eat your breakfast" Gemma smiles "Thanks, baby" Kayla smiles "Sure" she says handing Gemma the steaming cup "Careful it's hot" Gemma nods "Thanks for the warning" Gemma blows on it to cool it off a bit and sips it "mmm, much better warm"

Gemma continues to eat her cereal and drink her coffee. After resting a few minutes, she looks at her watch announcing "Well, it looks like I better get my ass into work" Grabbing her purse, kissing everyone goodbye Gemma leaves, she arrives at work 10 minutes later, she walks into the office Chucky is there "Hey, baby thanks for covering for me this morning" Chucky smiles "You're welcome" Gemma shoos him away "Okay, beat it, Sparky, I'm here now gotta work to do" Chucky quickly gets up and leaves shutting the door behind him.

A Few Days Later: July 15th 2pm

Gemma is resting on her bed when Nero comes into the room, Gemma looks up "Hey, baby" she says as he crawls into the bed beside her "Hey" he smiles putting his hand gently on her stomach rubbing it as the baby moved "Hey, it moved for me" Gemma smiles "Yeah well it loves you, you are it's father" Nero kisses her "Luckily we find out if it's a boy or a girl so we don't have to keep on calling it, it" Gemma chuckles "Yep, I can't wait I think we should start getting ready for our appointment remember it's at 3" Nero gets up from the bed while Gemma stayed on the bed, Nero looks at Gemma "Well aren't you gonna get up and get dressed?" Gemma smiles at him flirtatiously "I'd rather watch you instead" Nero smiles at her comment "Well I have to take a shower you wanna join me?" Without a word Gemma stands up from the bed following Nero into the bathroom they take off their clothes, Gemma bends down to turn on the water, she tests it to see if it's too hot or cold it's perfect they step into the tub together as the water sprays at their bodies.

Gemma and Nero are in the shower washing their hair and their bodies a few minutes later they get out still naked, Gemma wraps her robe around her body while Nero wraps a tower around himself, Gemma walks over to her dresser pulling out a pair of jeans and t-shirt, Nero goes to the closet where his clothes are looking for some clothes to wear, he picks out pants and a tank top. Gemma pulls her shirt over her head, then tries to put her jeans on now being 4 months pregnant her jeans are starting to become tighter and tighter around her "God damn it!" She shouts frustrated. Nero walks over to her holding her "Hey Mama, what's wrong?" he whispers "my jeans don't fit" she says crying, Nero kisses her on her forehead "Hey, Hey, it's okay it's gonna be alright" Gemma's still crying "No, it's not!" Nero guides her to the bed, he sits down beside her holding her after a few minutes, her sobs become quiet "I'm sorry, damn hormones" she says wiping her eyes "It's okay, do you want me to help you try and find some jeans to wear I'm sure there's at least one pair or maybe even some pants" Gemma nods "Thanks baby, it looks we are going to have make a trip to the store" Nero shakes his head agreeing "No kidding" Nero kisses her lips as he goes over to the dresser looking through it pulling out a few pairs of jeans for Gemma to try on neither fit "ugh" Gemma retorts annoyingly.

Finally in very bottom of the drawer, Nero spots some blue and black sweats "What about these, babe?" He asks handing them to her as she takes them from him "They might work" she replies hoping she's right as she puts them on pulling them up "Well how do they feel?" Nero asks "They feel okay, not too tight, not too loose" Nero smiles walking over to Gemma cupping her face in his face "See I told you we'd find one" Gemma hugs him "Thank you" Nero holds for a little while "After the appointment let's go shopping for some new clothes for you" Gemma looks up at him "Okay" Nero continues to get dressed while Gemma walks into the bathroom to brush her hair and teeth her gums are still bleeding "Damn" she spits out the blood in the sink, she then put on her make up.

She walks out of the bathroom and into the bedroom "Well I'm ready" Nero looks over at her "Baby, you look beautiful" Gemma smiles at his comment "Thank you, you look amazing yourself" Gemma walks over to him putting her hand on his shoulder "Come on, pimp daddy, let's go, but let's say goodbye to Lucius first" Nodding they go onto Lucius's room where he's on his bed playing with some cards "Hey Mijo, Gemma and I are gonna be gone for a few hours okay, so we'll see you later, I love you" Nero kisses his son on his cheek while Gemma kisses him on his forehead "Bye sweetheart, I love you, too" Lucius smiles at her giving her a hug.

Just then a knock comes at the door "I'll get it" Gemma says as she gets up from the bed Nero follows her to the kitchen, Gemma opens the door "Hey Kayla, Lucius is in his room" Kayla smiles putting her purse down on the table "Okay, when will you guys be back?" Gemma thinks for a few minutes "Um probably a few hours because I need to go to the store...maternity clothes" Kayla nods "Ah okay"

2:55pm

Gemma grabs her purse, keys and phone, Nero puts his hands around Gemma's waist he leads her out the door. They walk to the car, Gemma got into the passenger seat, putting on her seatbelt while Nero got into the drivers seat putting on his seat belt, Gemma handed Nero the keys, he starts the car and they head to the hospital. The ride to the hospital is quiet, they get to St. Thomas's 5 minutes later. Nero turns off the ignition and takes off his seat belt, Gemma takes off hers they get out of the car, Gemma waits for Nero as he walks around the car they both look at each other "You ready?" Gemma nods "Let's go" They take each others hands and walk into the hospital.

They walk to the doors, Nero holds the door open letting Gemma in first "I love when you do that" Nero chuckles "Yeah well, I'm a gentleman after all" Gemma smiles "You're my gentleman" Nero again grabs Gemma's hand as Nero press the button to take them up the O.B. floor "I know and I always will be" They step onto the elevator, Gemma presses 4 on the keypad after a few moments the two arrive on the 4th floor, Gemma walks to the reception desk where Trisha is there "Can I help you?" Gemma clears her throat "Gemma Teller for Dr. Shyer, I have an appointment at 3pm" Trisha smiles "Of course, Gemma, I need to sign in here" Gemma sighs, but signs in. After Gemma signs in Trisha takes the clip board "Okay, Gemma you can wait over there, the nurse will call for you shortly"

3pm

A few magazines and small talk later the nurse comes out holding the clipboard "Gemma Teller" she calls out "That's us" Nero and Gemma get up from their chairs following the nurse down the hallway, the nurse stops at examination room 5 they walked into the room the nurse hands Gemma a gown "put this on, Dr. Shyer will be here soon" the nurse leaves. Once the nurse is gone Gemma slips on the gown then sits back down on the table.

Gemma shivers as a cold breeze comes through the room "It's cold in here" she says to Nero "You want me to warm you up" Gemma nods "That would be nice" Nero walks over to her and holds her close after a few minutes, Nero looks at her "Is that better?" he asks "Yeah, thanks" As soon as Nero sits back down in the chair the door opens "Hey you two" Dr. Shyer greets them "Hey Doc" Gemma replies "Hi" Nero says smiling at her.

Dr. Shyer walks over to Gemma "I'm going to check your blood pressure and heart rate" the doctor takes her stethoscope from around her neck putting the ear tips in her ear, then put the diaphragm onto Gemma's chest listening to her heartbeat after a few moments she takes her stethoscope off "Your heart rate still sounds fine" Dr. Shyer takes the blood pressure cuff and puts onto Gemma's bicep, she squeezes the bulb making a tight seal on Gemma's arm, Gemma grimaces as she feels the cuff getting tighter "hmm your blood pressure is up a little from last time 140/90 which is still okay, but I'm going to need watch it very carefully for the rest of your pregnancy" Gemma looks at Nero worried "Don't worry, Gemma everything is okay with you right now, okay let's take a look at your baby" Gemma pulls up her gown as Nero gets up from the chair, he takes Gemma's hand as Dr. Shyer squirts gel onto her stomach, she moves the doppler around Gemma's abdomen looking for the baby "Okay there it is, it looks healthy, there's it's arms, legs and head" she announces pointing to everything. Both Gemma and Nero look at the screen. "Is a girl or a boy?" Gemma asks curiously inside she was excited to know as is Nero, he's still holding her hand.

Dr. Shyer continues moving the doppler around Gemma's stomach looking to see if she can see what the baby's gender is after a few tense moments she does smiling back at the couple she announces "It's a girl, congratulations" Nero kisses her on her hand, whispering "I told you, pay up" Gemma lightly slaps him on his shoulder "Yeah, Yeah you and your betting, I'll give to you later okay" Nero nods "Okay, that's fine I know where you live" Gemma starts laughing "Thanks a lot" after a few moments she starts to cry softly "a girl" she whispers to herself. Nero notices the tears and wipes them from her eyes as Dr. Shyer wipes the gel off of Gemma's stomach, both Nero and Dr. Shyer help Gemma sit up on the table "Well everything looks fine with the baby, but I'm worried about your blood pressure" Gemma nods in understanding "I'm not going to put you on bed rest right now, but if your pressure gets any higher I won't hesitate to" Gemma nods again "I understand, Doc" Dr. Shyer "I want you back here in 2 months and if you have any concerns or questions call me anything, you can get dressed now, oh here's your ultrasound picture" The doctor hands the picture to Gemma "Thanks, Doc" Gemma looks at the photo tracing her fingers around her daughter's little body.

The doctor leaves, Gemma sighs as she takes off the gown then put her clothes back on "I can't believe we are having a little girl" She says excitedly as Nero takes her hand kisses it "I know she's going to be so beautiful just like you" Gemma smiles happily "Nero, I love you, so much" Nero replies "I love you too, Mama, well are you ready to go shopping?" He asks as Nero opens the door letting Gemma walk out first, Gemma grabs Nero's hand "To answer your question I'm ready to go shopping" Nero smiles "Good, because I want you to buy something sexy to wear to bed tonight" Gemma smirks "ooh in that case.."

The couple walk down the hallway and to the elevator, Gemma presses the button, the elevator opens and they step in, Nero presses the down button the two walk out of the elevator as it opens, both walk in sync with each other out the doors of the hospital, they hold hands as they walk to the car, Gemma slides into the passenger seat while Nero moves around to the drivers seat, they put on their seatbelts as Nero starts the car exiting the hospital content in finally knowing what they are bringing into the world...a little girl.
