"Xander." Willow addressed the local Xander. "What did he do to you?"
"He showed me, me." He answered. "If he was right, then what I saw was the truth of me." He had a small, lopsided smile on his face. He looked at Faith and then to Willow's astonishment, his own eyes went black and Faith's eyes widened and then she said. "Wow."
"You saw it too?" He asked her.
"Yes. That's me?"
"That's you."
"I don't understand." Willow said. "What are you talking about?"
"Wesen are afraid to look into a Grimm's eyes because they're afraid of what they'll see." Xander explained. "And vampires, soul or no soul, have no reflection, even in our eyes, because they're not natural. Wesen and Grimms are natural. When Xander looked into my eyes, he wasn't feeling afraid, so he didn't see his fears, he saw the truth. When Faith looked into his, it was the same thing."
"What will I see in your eyes?"
"Nothing, you're neither a Grimm nor a Wesen and there's nothing for me to see in you, because you have no unnatural darkness in you, like a vampire or a Slayer does. Giles has some darkness in him, but then he used to summon demons to have orgies, it left a mark on him."
Dead silence as the others stared at him.
"What the Hell?!" Buffy yelled. "When was that?"
"I take it Eyghon hasn't visited yet?"
"Good lord!" Giles exclaimed. "Eyghon will walk again?! When?"
"Umm, about two weeks after Halloween of our Junior year."
"That's in just a few days!" Giles exclaimed.
"Oh, get the tattoo removed, than he can't find you. Willow, do you have a minute? We need to go meet Amy at the Crawford Mansion, but I wanted to talk to you before I go."
"What about?'
"I understand Jesse was vamped here."
"Yes, on the same day Buffy came to town." Xander answered. "Just before the Harvest."
"Where I'm from, that happened to Willow."
"I'm a vampire there?!"
"No more than Jesse is. Like I was going to let that thing walk around wearing my psuedosis's face."
"Psuedosis? What does psuedosis mean?'
"Substitute sister. Jesse dubbed you that and it perfectly sums up our feelings for you. And since then he and his family have adopted a girl named Tika, who adores Jesse and we're both very protective of her and I've got Faith, my very own Little Sis."
"You and Jesse thought of me as a substitute sister and now you both have people you consider real sisters?"
"Yes, but we still miss you, Willow. You were a part of our lives since we were two and we're always going to remember you with love. I just wanted you to know that."
Willow huffed, she didn't want to be his sister, damn it!
Xander turned back to the local. "Tony may be bitter, but he's not stupid. He'll know where the Harris family archives are, they can help you learn, so you understand what you're seeing. And remember, they're not monsters and neither are we. They're going to be afraid of you and they have reason be afraid. Several centuries ago a group of Grimms went rogue, they became human monsters, because they wanted to be. Wesen paid the price. Show them you mean it, that you don't intend to be a monster and remember what you saw in my eyes and talk to Cordelia, you'll understand later, but she's the Queen of the school and she's not stupid. She'll also put you and Faith in contact with the Wesen Council representatives. They can help too. Now, I told Amy I'd meet her at Crawford Mansion in an hour and it's nearly been that. Anyone want to come with and see me off?"
"If our Xander is as strong as you, I guess we could spar together." Buffy offered. "After we fix the problem with my soul."
"Amy can help with that and so can your mom."
"My mom doesn't know anything about any of this, Xander, it keeps her safe."
"No, it doesn't, Buffy. It's another way the Council has of controlling you, by isolating you from any real support. Trust me, your mom can handle it. I meant it when I said she made Wussley pee his pants and then there was the vampire she tortured and destroyed that used to be a Watcher before he was vamped and thought she'd be easy prey. But she was pissed at Giles. That was the same day Giles killed you and she had him arrested."
Now local Xander and Willow were staring at him. "Are we going?" Xander asked. "I have a girlfriend and really good friends to get home to." The group silently followed him out of the library and to Crawford Mansion, too stunned by his revelations to say much. When they arrived they found Amy talking to a young man.
"Hey, everyone, meet Connor, justice demon for the falsely accused." Amy introduced the young man.
"Ah, so that's why you granted Faith's wish, because she was being falsely accused of a crime." Xander nodded.
"Yes and I'm low on my quota. Normally we grant wishes that, you know, cause pain and suffering. Besides, I was bored."
"So you going to reverse it and send me home?"
"Might as well, I didn't get much enjoyment out of it anyway." A flash of light and Xander was gone.
"Did he ever say who his girlfriend is?" Willow asked, feeling miserable. If she was dead in that reality, it sure wasn't her.
"Yes, he said he's been with Cordelia for more then two years and never had a crush on me." Buffy answered, to Willow's absolute horror.
"If I was vamped during the Harvest, that means he was dating her before then."
"He kept calling her foxy perfection."
"And when you said you saw yourself in his eyes, Xander, what did that mean?"
"I didn't see Tony looking back at me. I've been afraid of turning out like him since I was a kid."
"I understand." Faith said, after all she hadn't seen her Ma looking back at her either.
"Do you like a stronger Xander now?" Willow looked at Buffy. "In a boyfriend kind of way."
"No, I just wish we could find a way to help Angel." Buffy said.
"Wish granted." Connor's face went demony. Angel crumbled into dust. "I told you I was behind on my quota and bored." And just like that, he was gone too.
