12am:
Nero suddenly awakens, he turns to look at his wife whose sound asleep next to him, something's wrong he tries to move his legs to get up, but he can't they are numb and he realizes he can't feel them. He starts to panic "Mama!" he says in a scared voice, this wakes her up instantly "Baby, what's wrong?" she says frightened. "I can't..." he trails off, trying again "My legs are numb...I can't feel them, the feeling is going up my body" Gemma's eyes widen in fear "What!?" She feels his legs asking "Can you feel this?" touching his legs, he shakes his head "No" she touches his abdomen "This?" Shaking his head "No" Gemma whispers "Hold on...oh my god" she throws off the covers running into the Lucius's bedroom shaking Kayla frantically whispering her name "Kayla, Kayla wake up" she wakes immediately whispering back "Gemma, what's wrong?" she asked panicked "I have to take Nero to the hospital I need you to stay here with Lucius okay" she whispers, Kayla nods laying back down inside she's worried for Nero "Okay, okay I will" Gemma runs back out the her and Nero's bedroom "Sweetheart, come on we have to get you to the hospital" She gently lifts him up from the bed she put her arms around his waist, she notices he can barely walk even with her help so she leans him against for support "Baby, we're almost there" she whispers as they continue walking slowly through the kitchen and out the door by the time they get to car Gemma's breathing heavily, she helps Nero into the car, puts his seat belt on then races around to the drivers side door opening it, putting on her seat belt starting the engine and driving to the hospital as fast as possible shaking him shouting hysterically "Baby, you've gotta stay with me, don't leave me, please Lucius and Talaya need you..I love you" that's the last he remembers before going unconscious.
Chapter 19: Going Back, Then Forward – Part 3
St. Thomas Hospital – November 24th 12:15am
Gemma arrives at the hospital stopping the car, she gets out rushing into the hospital frantically yelling "Please help, my husband's unconscious in the car!" the doctors and nurses run out with a gurney following Gemma to her SUV, they gently transfer him onto the bed, Dr. Amber Coleman turns to the older woman asking "What happened?" Gemma's shaking with fear, the doctor notices and puts her arms around her "Listen to me you have to calm down and tell me what happened to your husband" taking a deep breath she answers shakily. "He's had the flu the last few days now he can't feel his legs and he has numbness" Dr. Drake asks "What's his name?" Gemma sniffles "Nero" The doctor nods "Okay, come on" Gemma runs into the hospital along with the doctors as they rush him into the trauma room, Gemma tries to come in, but nurse Nicole stops her "Ma'am, you'll have to wait out here, we'll take good care of your husband" Dr. Drake shines his pen light into his patients eyes "pupils are equal round and reactive to light" he puts electrodes onto his chest then starts to check his vital signs "Blood pressure is low 80/60", the nurse puts a pulse ox probe onto his onto his index finger, nurse Nicole looks at the monitor remarking "pulse ox is 85" taking his stethoscope off his neck he listens to his heart beat which he notices is racing. Dr. Drake barked orders "He's tachycardic at 200, let's give propranolol, 5 migs and midodrine " He barks "Let's get some labs, antibody blood tests, and a bolus of saline to re-hydrate him" taking the reflex hammer he does a reflex test in which he takes the reflex hammer to Nero's knees tapping them, his knees stay down, that tells him there's something is very wrong with his patients nervous system, looking at the other doctors he instructs "Let's do a spinal tap as well" the the doctor checks inside his ears they look okay that's when Nero regains consciousness, gasping, Dr. Drake looks at his patient "Nero, my name is Dr. Drake you're at the hospital you passed out and we are trying to figure out why, do you have any tingling in your legs or body?" nods whispers, still gasping "Yes, can't breathe" he asks concerned, but weakly "Where is my wife?" looking at the nurse he instructs "Let's get him on 10 liters by mask" the nurse puts the oxygen mask over Nero's face as the doctor says "Your wife is outside, we'll bring her in soon" pausing the doctor asked "Do you have any medical problems we should know about?" he motions to his chest, Dr. Drake opens up Nero's shirt revealing his scar, he whispers, muffled under the mask "Triple bypass at 42" the doctor nodded "Okay, let's get you into a gown" Dr. Drake puts him into the gown, then helps him lay back down, pausing a moment the doctor asks another question. "How long has the numbness and tingling been going on for?" he whispers "just started" he just nods at this patient putting back on his oxygen mask remarking "You have to keep that one" Nero nods saying nothing as Dr. Drake looks to one of the nurse ordering "Let's get him re-hydrated with some saline" the nurse just nods. Dr. Drake helps him up slowly and performs a physical examination on his patient then lays him back down gently.
A few minutes later, Nicole administrators an I.V. into Nero's wrist then puts the I.V. bolus of saline in his arm and a hospital name bracelet. Just then his test results come back, Dr. Drake looks them over "His CBC and lytes are low and his antibody blood tests aren't great either" he adds "so let's give him medicine to take care of everything" Nicole does. Dr. Drake checks his patients blood pressure once again since the drugs on board "blood pressure is now 123/80" adding "That's more like it"
The nurse brings in the instruments for the spinal tab, when nurse asks Dr. Drake "Can I bring in his wife?" he nods "Yeah, sure" nurse Nicole comes back out into the hallway, Gemma is standing there trembling, crying and distraught "Gemma?" She nods wiping the tears from her face "How is he?" she responds "Well he's stable and you can see now, but the doctor needs to do a spinal tap" Hearing that she gasps "Oh my god" the young woman guides Gemma into the room as she enters she notices a sandy haired doctor by her husband's side, Nicole grabs a chair for her to sit in, Gemma looked at the doctor asking "Is he conscious?" Dr. Drake nods "Yeah" adding "I'm Dr. Drake, I'm treating your husband" she extended out her hand shaking his replying softly "Gemma" he shook hers "Nice to meet you, Gemma" Gemma stood up from the chair bending down kissing her husband on the forehead, he slowly opens his eyes looking at her murmuring "Mama" she smiles saying "I'm here, baby" stroking his hair from his face. Dr. Drake interrupts the couple "Nero, I'm going turn you over on your side, so we can do the spinal tap" He just nods.
The doctor gently rolls Nero over onto his side, Gemma takes his hand into hers, as the doctor says "Okay, I'm going to start now" He places a sterile drape over Nero's back then rubs idoline on it with the sponge announcing "I'm going to put the needle in" as the needle goes in, Nero squeezes his wife's hand "Hold on, baby it's almost over" She said comforting him.
After a few seconds, the doctor feels a pop and some resistance he takes out the stylet placing the tube under needle to collect the fluid taking out the needle, announcing "All done, I'm going to get this up to the lab" he says handing it the nurse beside him. Gemma gasps putting her hand over her mouth "Is he going to be okay?" she asked, looking at the doctor who replies truthfully "I don't know, but I hope so" adding "Let's roll you back on your back now" Nero's now on his back. Dr. Drake looks at his patient "I'm going to send this sample to the lab see if they can give a diagnosis" Nero just nods as the doctor leaves giving the couple some privacy.
Nero's Room: 3am
A few hours later, they've admitted Nero into the hospital he's in his own private room now, still on oxygen, but he and Gemma try to make small talk anyway, just then Dr. Drake comes into the room holding some test results on a clip board, the two of them look up at him "Hey doc" Gemma greets him adding "So what's wrong with my husband?" Dr. Drake comes over sitting down on the bed "Well the test results confirm you have Gullain-Barré Syndrome" Gemma and Nero both look at the doctor in confusion "What's that?" she asks, the doctor goes on to explain in laymen terms "It's a rapid-onset muscle weakness caused by the immune system damaging nervous system" Adding "Now, it can be life threatening and cause paralyses, it usually comes on after the flu, but I think we caught it in time" Gemma looks at him nodding to go on "We need to start treatment on your husband to get this under control before it kills him, so we are going to put him on immunotherapy a medicine called Plasmapheresis, but if that doesn't work we'll try the immunuoglobulins in other words IVIG" Gemma listens to the doctor trying to take all of this in. Dr. Drake continues "I'm going to have the nurse start to administrator the treatment now" Dr. Drake leaves again as Gemma starts crying, Nero tries to comfort her by taking her hand into his "Mama's it's gonna be okay" She start crying harder "Shh..Shh" he says reaching his hand to her face caressing it, she closes her eyes as the tears stream down her face.
Just then the nurse comes into the room with the I.V. putting the medicine into Nero's arm "Okay that should do it" Nero asks tiredly "How long do I have to keep this in for?" The nurse answers "a few days, maybe a few weeks it all depends on how your body responds, if it helps" Gemma gets up from the bed grabbing an empty chair and sits down beside her husband, he closes his eyes quickly falling asleep. As Nero sleeps, Gemma sits there watching him numbly, after a few minutes she rises from the chair walking over to his bed kissing him on his forehead, stroking his hair from his face then steps outside into the hallway to get some air while there she pulls out her phone dialing their home number after a few rings, Kayla answers.
"Hello?" she says sleepily.
"Hey it's Gemma, sweetheart I didn't mean to wake you" she says whispering sitting down on the bench outside her husband's room.
Kayla rubs her eyes of sleep whispering back "It's okay, how is Nero?"
Gemma breaks down again, crying.
"Oh, Gemma" Kayla remarks sadly.
She sniffles "I'm sorry" the older woman apologizes.
"It's okay" Kayla whispered getting up from the floor, walking quietly into the kitchen.
"Did you find out what's wrong with Nero yet?" Kayla asked, getting something to drink.
Gemma sniffles "Yeah, he's got something called Gullain-Barré Syndrome"
Kayla asks curiously "What's that?"
Gemma chuckles softly "That's exactly what I asked" she continues explaining "It's an illness that has rapid-onset muscle weakness caused by the immune system damaging the nervous system, it can be life threatening and can cause paralysis"
Kayla gasps in shock "Wow...oh my god"
Gemma exhales deeply "Yeah, I know, but they think they got to him in time, they've already started him on the medication to try and slow the progression of the illness down and hopefully it'll work, he's probably going to be here a few days, maybe a few weeks, we don't know yet"
Kayla takes all this in "Whoa!" pausing a bit she continues "I hope he'll make it through this okay"
Gemma whispers "Me too" there's a long silence between the two women before Kayla "Gemma?" she rubs her eyes tiredly "Yeah, baby I'm still here, I'm just so tired, I need some sleep" the younger woman replies "Well, why don't you get some sleep and we'll talk later" She yawns "Okay, sweetheart, bye" They hang up their phones a while later Gemma gets up from the bench bending down on her knees, closing her eyes, bowing her head and clasping her hands together tightly she begins to pray silently for her husband to get better hoping he will.
4am:
After praying Gemma sits back on the bench leaning against it closing her eyes, a few minutes later she opens her eyes looking down at her watch "4am" she murmurs to herself. She gets up from the bench pushing open the door to her husband's room, he's still sleeping, quietly she pulls the chair over closer to his bed putting her head on his body taking his hand into hers within seconds eyes close and she falls fast asleep.
St. Thomas Hospital: The Next Morning November 25th - 9am
The brightness of the sun awaken Gemma first, opening her eyes slowly groaning "Oh!" putting her hands in front of her face, she sits up in the chair grunting painfully holding the back of her neck "Ow!" she whispers to herself. Moments later, Nero opens his eyes staring at his wife, the doctors transitioned him 4 liters nasal cannula, during the night, he whispers "Hey Mama" she smiles standing up kissing him on his lips whispering "Hey, Pimp Daddy" stroking his hair "How are you feeling?" he whimpers in pain "Shh, shh, it's okay" she soothes.
Just then a knock at the door makes them look at the door "Good Morning you two" Dr. Drake announces. "How are you feeling, Nero?" the doctor asked, taking his stethoscope off his neck placing it on his patient's chest, instructing "I need you to take some deep breaths for me" he does "breathe" he does "And breathe" again he does "Okay, well your breathing still seems not good" Dr. Drake remarks "Okay I'm going to order some fluticasone to open up your lungs hopefully you'll be able to breathe better" Nero looks at him "I'm feeling a bit better I guess, still having trouble breathing though" Pausing the doctor speaks "How is the tingling and numbness?" he answers softly "still there" nodding, he replies "Okay" Dr. Drake places a pin prick down Nero's body starting with his arms asking "Can you feel this?" pricking his arms, he shakes his head no, then goes down to his chest "Ouch!" the doctor marks it down "Okay you felt that" he shakes his head yes "That's good" moving down to his abdomen the doctor pokes it "You feel anything, here?" he shakes his head yes "Good, good" then moves down to his legs pricking them both inquiring "Anything?" he shakes his head no "Okay, well the good news is the numbness and tingling has went to only your arms and legs, whatever happened in your abdomen earlier was most likely temporary the bad news is you could be paralyzed if we don't get you up and walking soon" Gemma gasps putting her hand over her mouth, Nero squeezes her other hand in comfort "It's gonna be okay, Mama" seconds later knocking at the door comes, nurse Trisha enters in, the doctor turns to her instructing "I need to give him 4 migs of fluticasone" she nods leaving to get the medicine, returns a few minutes and administrators the medication in his I.V. The doctor's pager goes off "Well, I've got to go, let me know if you need anything okay" he says placing his hand on Nero's shoulder then leaves.
Gemma takes a deep breath changing the subject "I called Kayla earlier, told her what was going on" Nero moans "Is Lucius okay?" She shrugs her shoulders "I didn't ask, but I'm assuming he was, he was still asleep, but I'll call her now and check okay" he smiles as she pulls out her phone dialing their home number after a few rings Kayla picks up "Hello?" Gemma answers "Hey sweetheart, it's me, didn't mean to wake you...again" the younger woman chuckles "No problem, I was just getting myself some coffee" Clearing her throat Gemma sits down in the empty chair "Is Lucius awake yet?" Kayla replies while reaching for a cup out of the cupboard "No, not yet" groaning Gemma replies "Oh, I was hoping he was because Nero wanted to talk with him" Kayla replies "Oh, okay well when he gets up I'll call you and he can talk with him" She nods "That's fine, I'll let Nero know, bye baby" Kayla replies back "Bye, talk with you later" They hang up with each other as Gemma heads back into the room she finds her husband eating his breakfast which must have been brought in while she was on the phone with Kayla.
Gemma gets up from the chair and sits with her husband on the edge of the bed, taking his hand while he continues to eat, he looks at her asking "Is he awake?" shaking her head no, she replies sadly "Sorry, baby he's not awake yet, but Kayla says she'll call us when he is and you can talk with him" he smiles, caressing her face with his fingers "How is our daughter?" She glares at him like he's crazy shrugging her shoulders "I don't know yet haven't seen her since you did, but I was going to go visit her while we are here" he waves her away "Go see her..I'll be fine by myself for a few minutes" She kisses him on the lips "Are you sure, sweetheart?" nodding pulling her face away from his face "Yeah, I'm sure she misses her mommy" she adds smiling "And I'm sure she misses her, daddy too" they kiss one last time before Gemma grabs her purse and leaves the room.
10:30am:
Once outside she takes a deep breath, running to the bathroom closing the door behind her, she turns on the water splashing some on her face she stays there for a few moments to compose herself once again blotting her face with a paper towel. Seconds later her phone rings she answers.
"Hello?" she says tiredly leaning against the bathroom counter
"Hey Gemma, it's Kayla, Lucius is awake and wants to talk with his dad" Kayla explains moving around the kitchen getting Lucius his breakfast.
Gemma goes quiet a moment"Damn!" she says to herself, her voice is barely above a whisper.
Swallowing hard, she speaks "Okay..well I was just going to visit Talaya in the NICU"
Kayla walks back into the Lucius's room carries him into the kitchen sitting him down into the chair putting his breakfast down in front with him with his milk and silverware on the side.
Lucius looks at her whispering "Is that my dad?" Kayla shakes her head no, the boy goes back to eating his food while Kayla continues to talk with Gemma.
"I see, well do you want me call you back?" the younger woman asked sitting down beside Lucius whose still eating.
Gemma thinks about this idea for a few minutes her mind saying yes, but then changes her mind "No, don't I'll go back into the room and give him the phone" Gemma says silently hoping Nero's not asleep again.
She opens the door walking out of the bathroom and back to her husband's room finding him watching TV or at least trying too, his breakfast tray off to the side of his bed, he looks over at her remarking "Hey Mama, I thought you were gonna see the baby" walking over to him she smiles taking the phone from her ear "I was, but Kayla called, Lucius is awake now asking to speak with you" he just looks at her blankly "mmm, okay" just nodding she hands him her phone "Hello?" he says tiredly. "Hey Nero, hang on here's Lucius" Kayla hands the boy the phone putting it to his ear, Lucius answers happily "Hey, Papi" Nero smiles hearing his son's voice "Hey, Mijo, how are you?" the boy replies "I'm okay, I miss you so much" Gemma kisses him whispering "Bye" he just nods continuing to talk with his son, as Gemma goes to the door leaving the room.
Gemma slowly walks down the hallway and off to the NICU in a dream like state, her and Nero were so happy and now this finally she comes to face to face with the NICU, she is so tired, but she wants to see her daughter, getting a gown she puts it on then washes her hands at the sink, walking back to the doors she presses the intercom button "Can I help you?" a garbled voice comes over it, Gemma replies back "Here for baby girl Padilla" opening the door she walks in looking around for her tiny baby girl finally spotting her, she smiles peering down at her baby "Hey little one, it's mommy, I've missed you so much" opening the window to the incubator she reaches in stroking her baby's foot with her fingers that's when Amy comes over to greet her "Hey Gemma" she smiles back "Hey, Amy, I've come to visit my baby" the nurse looks around asking "Where's Nero?" Gemma looks at her sadly "He's..sick" taking a deep breath she continues "I had to bring him here to be looked at" Amy walks over putting her hand on the older woman's shoulder "I'm sorry, I hope he'll get better soon..." she adds "Let me get you a rocking chair" Gemma just nods moments later, Amy returned with the chair setting it down for Gemma, sitting in it she moves it closer to the isolate, Amy looks at her, asking "Would you like to hold her?" Gemma nods. Amy opens the incubator reaching into it taking out the baby placing her into her mother's arms, Gemma gently rocking her back and forth she looks down at her daughter saying "Hey, sweetheart, you're so beautiful" adding "Daddy loves you too, he's not here, but he's thinking about you" she kisses her forehead, the tiny baby opens her eyes at hearing her mother's voice. Amy looks at the older woman just watching her.
Gemma continued rocking her baby as her eyes close in contentment, all of her stress goes away for the moment. When she opens her eyes after a few minutes, her daughter is still looking at her cooing "Are you trying to tell me something, baby?" the baby coos more "I guess that's a yes, huh?" she kisses Talaya on her cheek as Amy comes by commenting "She's really missed you, you know" Talaya opens her little hand grasping onto her mother's fingers as Gemma whispers "Well, I've missed you too, little one" After holding her baby a bit more she stands up gently placing her back into the her incubator "Bye, Sweetheart, mommy will see you later okay, I love you" she kisses her again then closes up the isolate. She walks outside the NICU taking off her gown throwing into the waste bin and heads back to her husband's room.
11:30am:
Finally making it back she opens up the door, Nero looks over at her "Hey babe" she smiles "Hey, I saw her, she seems fine, held her a bit too" hearing that brings a smile to his face "I'm glad, wish I could have been there with you, Mama" walking over to him sitting on the bed, he pulls her close to him, she puts her head on his chest, whispering "Me too" closing her eyes as his hands play with her hair softly as her body moves more onto the bed within seconds she's asleep as he kisses her the forehead falling asleep himself minutes later.
Hours Later: Padilla Residence – 8pm
Gemma is now at home after having spent the day with Nero at the hospital. Lucius and Kayla are there with her. Kayla and Gemma are making a late dinner while making small talk "So I saw my baby girl today, held her a bit too" Gemma begins as she pours water into the pot waiting for it to boil, Kayla smiles responding "Oh Gemma, that's great!" adding "How is she doing?" the older woman replies "She's doing well you know for a premature baby" Kayla nods in understanding, the two women finish making the dinner then go into Lucius's room to wait they end up playing a card game.
An hour later, the women check on the food, which consists of hot dogs, mac and cheese and green beans it's done "Well, I'll get Lucius" Kayla announces as Gemma sets the table "Okay, thanks" Kayla helps Lucius walk into the kitchen, she sits him down into the chair asking "What do you like to drink?" he thinks for a moment "juice please" Kayla answers "Okay" she grabs the cup pouring the juice into it putting it back onto the table then fills Lucius's plate with food, while Gemma gets her own with a bottle of water, she looks at Kayla ", Kayla sweetheart, what do you want to drink?" she answers "Milk" placing Lucius plate of food in front of him, he thanks her, she smiles grabbing her plate placing some food on it, Gemma pours her milk placing it in front of the empty chair, Kayla and Gemma finally sit down and start eating. After another hour everyone is done eating, as Gemma starts to clean up, Kayla stops her offering "Let me clean up for you, you go and relax" Gemma looks at her surprised giving her a hug "Thanks, sweetheart" Kayla smiles "No problem"
9pm:
Gemma takes Lucius into her and Nero's bedroom, gently setting him down onto the bed putting her hands on his lap "Okay, sweetheart, do you want to go back in your room or stay in here with me?" the boy smiles at her "Stay here with you" Gemma moves him more onto the bed, she then walks over to her side of the bed sitting next to him a silence falls on the two until Gemma breaks it "Lucius, there's something I want to talk with you about" the boy looks at her with confusion wondering what's going on "Yes, Gemma?" She smiles looking at him inside hoping he'd want to be her son seeing as she already thinks of him as hers "How would you feel if I adopted you, make you officially my son?" She waits for his reaction with nervous anticipation, he smiles brightly "I'd love that!" giving her a hug as she hugs him back "I love you, sweetheart" Lucius repeats "I love you, too"
As Lucius is watching a movie on TV, Gemma decided to call Nero at the hospital telling him the good news and just to talk because she misses him. After a few rings he picks up "Hello?" Gemma's heart melts hearing her husband's voice "Hey, baby" Nero replies "Hey Mama, what's up?" the older woman gets up from the bed walking through the kitchen into the garden for some privacy, Kayla has come into the bedroom after cleaning up the kitchen with Lucius they are both watching some TV together; meanwhile walking around the garden, Gemma continues speaking "I missed you and I wanted to let you know I talked with Lucius about me adopting him" Nero goes silent for a second in surprise "You-you..did?" he stammers she responds "Yeah, he loves the idea" Nero smiles on his end "Well you know I already gave my blessing to you so I'm happy he's happy about it" Gemma chuckles "I still have to talk with Lowen about it though, I'll call her tomorrow and see if she can help with rushing the papers through, but you know how layers are" Nero murmurs "Yeah.." Silence falls on the couple, moments later, Gemma breaks it "How are you, feeling?" Nero sighs "I guess okay, how about you?" Gemma sits down at the kitchen table "I'm alright, but I want you here with me" Nero replies "I want to be there too, Mama" he adds "I love you, babe" Gemma bites her lip "I love you too, Pimp daddy"she adds "By the way Lucius is fine, he and Kayla are watching TV together" Nero chuckles "Sounds like fun, well Mama, I'm gonna let you go I'm tired" Gemma clears her throat "Okay, I'll come visit you tomorrow" he replies "Okay, bye" Gemma waits for Nero to hang up before she does the same.
Walking back to her bedroom, she smiles at the scene before her both Kayla and Lucius have fallen asleep on her side of the bed. She walks over to Nero's side of the bed pulls down the covers getting under them laying her head on his pillow, breathing in his scent giving one last look to Kayla and Lucius she quickly falls into a restless slumber.
2am:
Gemma's body tosses and turns, moments later she bolts up from the bed sweating and gasping for breath whispering "Nero" looking around in darkness slightly disoriented, she swallows realizing her husband isn't there with her and that she was dreaming. She wipes the sweat pouring from her forehead looking at the clock beside the bed it flashes reading: 2am swinging her legs over she walks into the kitchen getting her purse opening it grabbing her cigarettes and lighter she sits down at the table putting the cigarette between her lips lighting it she inhales the smoke into her lungs with a few puffs after a few minutes she puts the cigarette out, but continues to sitting at the table numbly as her mind drifts to her husband.
"Hey Mama, let's take a walk"
"I love you, Mama"
"I love you too, baby"
"I thought this walking was supposed to wake me up"
"Well, is it?"
"No"
She chuckles softly while continuing to remember
"Oh my god, we are getting married today"
"I know"
"Will you marry me?"
"Yes, I will"
"I can't wait to be married"
"I'm pregnant, Nero"
"Are you sure?"
"I can't believe we having a little girl"
"I know, she gonna be beautiful just like you"
Gemma shakes her head coming back to reality with tears streaming down her face all the memories are making her emotional, she sniffles closing her eyes swallowing the lump in her throat. Taking a shaky breath she stands up from the table throwing away the shattered pieces of plates that broke when she and Nero got carried away with each other, chuckling at the memory "Oops, I guess we got carried, huh?"
The Next Day:November 26th Morning - 10am
Gemma slowly opens her eyes, but groans as the suns hits them, looking over to her side of the bed Kayla and Lucius are still asleep, careful not to wake them she gets up from the bed putting her slippers on then her robe, pads her way into the kitchen to start the coffee machine while that's going she decides now is the time to call Lowen to see about getting the adoption papers for Lucius going. Grabbing her purse she finds her phone after a few seconds dialing Ally's number after a few rings the other woman answers "Ally Lowen" the older woman replies bluntly " Gemma Padilla, Lady Law" reaching for a coffee cup from the cupboard, she pours the coffee into the cup, Ally chuckles getting to the point "Gemma, need something?" Gemma makes her coffee how she likes it: black, lots of sugar stirring in everything taking a sip then continues "Yeah, I do need some help with something" Ally responds sternly "What is it?" Gemma takes a deep breath with a long silence debating whether she should tell Lowen over the phone or ask her to come to her house and discuss it.
The long silence piques Ally's interest so she repeats "Gemma, what do you want?" she asks again more forcefully. Gemma finally speaks asking "Okay, can you come over to my house right now?" Ally mind is racing with questions "wonder what she wants", "wonder what's going on?" shaking her head back into reality she speaks "Sure, I've got time, I'll be there in a few minutes" meanwhile Gemma finishes her coffee then makes herself a quick breakfast, some toast and some orange juice, she puts two slices of bread into the toaster then pours some orange juice into a cup setting it down on the table, a light knocking at the door startles her walking over to the door she opens it revealing Ally Lowen on the other side.
"Well, well, well..Lady Law, we meet again" Gemma says jokingly, smirking letting the other woman in.
Taking a deep breath "Gemma..."Ally says ignoring the other woman's comment.
Gemma motions for her to sit down, she does as Gemma's toast pops up from the toaster, she quickly gets up to get it, butters it and sits down in the empty chair next to Ally.
Taking a bite of her toast then sets it down on the plate Gemma begins to speak. "I asked you over here because I need a favor my stepson Lucius I want to adopt him and I'd like for you to get the paperwork started"
Ally looks at the older woman like she's crazy, Gemma notices this remarking "Come on, Lady Law you're acting like I don't care or love anyone, well newsflash I do...I love and care deeply especially for my family and Lucius and Nero are apart of that, plus I love him and he loves me"
That remark shut her up and she changed the subject "Okay Gemma, well I don't have the papers yet, but I'll draw them up for you and come back in the few days and give them to you so we can start the process is that okay with you?" She smirks replying simply "Fine" Ally gets up from the chair as Gemma gets up opening the door leading the other woman out "See you again soon" Ally says smiling as she leaves Gemma shuts the door behind her.
Five Weeks Later: T.M. December 17th - 9am
Gemma is at her desk working on the paperwork that has pilled up in the last few days, she's trying to get everything done before she has to pickup Nero from the hospital, he's being released today finally. She's missed her husband so much at home and especially in their bed. He's doing so much better, still weak though somewhat, the immunotherapy has worked for his illness and he's been doing physical therapy for a few weeks now to help him walk again.
Ally Lowen has given the adoption papers to Gemma and together they have started the process so Gemma can adopt Lucius, she's happy about this and so is Lucius he can't wait to start calling her mom which Gemma thinks is sweet of course with Nero still hospitalized and the baby as well it's been tough for Gemma to even get started filling out the papers, but it's slowly coming along.
Baby Talaya is also still doing well, she's gained another pound and some ounces, she's now up to 3 lbs 12 oz and off her ventilator she can now breathe on her own, but still has oxygen in her nose. Gemma takes a break from her paperwork to take her pill with all this stress she hasn't taken it this yet, grabbing her purse she opens it taking out her pill bottle placing it on the desk she gets a cup of water from the water jug setting it down on the desk, she sits back down into her chair opening the bottle popping the pill in her mouth drinking water she tips her head back as the water and pill goes down her throat bitterly, groaning softly. Gemma had just visited her baby girl last night she's so happy Talaya's, gained some more weight, is off her vent, breathing on her own and is looking a bit more human.
After her pill is taken she gets back to her paperwork, that's when her phone rings putting her pen down she quickly grabs her phone from her purse flipping it open the caller ID registers Nero smiling she answers on the first ring cooing "Hey baby" Nero answers back "Hey Mama" adding "You at T.M.?" she replies tiredly "Yeah" Gemma leans back into her chair yawning Nero remarking "Someone's tired" rubbing her eyes she answers "Yeah..me, I'm so glad your coming home today, what time time did the doctor say you could leave?" Nero groans "I don't know, I haven't seen him yet" Gemma asks concerned "Are you okay, sweetheart?" Nero clears his throat "Yeah, Mama" Gemma's not sure if she believes him, but she lets it go for now changing the subject "Baby, I saw Talaya last night, she's doing great still, is off her vent, breathing on her own and has gained some more weight" Nero smiles hearing the news "Mama, that's great I'm so happy about that, I can't wait to see her again, I miss her so much" Gemma murmurs "I know you do, you'll see her soon, baby I promise"
Silence befalls the couple just then Gemma hears Nero talking with someone "Hold on, Mama" he said pulling the phone away from his ear as he listens to Dr. Drake speak "Nero, you can go home anytime in the next few hours, but remember your still gonna be weak getting around and even standing so I'd advise you to let your wife help you out with things until that goes away which it should with time, if you have any questions or concerns call me anything" he adds "I'll get your discharge papers ready and bring them to you" Nero nods "Okay, thanks doctor for everything" they shake hands and he leaves to get the papers.
Nero put the phone back to his ear "Sorry Gem, that was the doctor, I can go home in the next few hours, but I'm still gonna be weak getting around, but he said that should fade with time" Gemma ecstatically answers "I'm so happy!" Nero smiles on his end "Me too, babe" adding "You are gonna pick me up aren't you?" Gemma replies sarcastically joking "No, I'm gonna leave you there" Nero responds sternly "Mama, that's not funny" Gemma laughs "Come on yes it was" adding "Besides you know I was kidding..being sarcastic after the last few weeks we've had we need to joke a little" Nero laughs then Gemma laughs along with him "Okay, okay you're right" Clearing her throat, she changes the subject "Well, I'll be there to pick you up soon, but before we go we should visit Talaya" Nero replies agreeing "Yeah we will I miss her so much" Gemma smiles "I miss her too and I've been with her as much as I've visited with you" Nero answers sadly "Yeah, I know" Gemma senses the sadness in his voice, she says comfortably "Aw, baby you'll see her again soon" He sniffles "I'm so happy for that" Gemma sits down on the couch still listening to him she looks up to see Tig waiting "Baby, I've gotta go now, but I'll be there soon, I love you" Nero replies back "I love you too, Mama so much" They hang up, inside Gemma so glad her husband is coming home and having this nightmare over once and for all.
Before she goes to get Nero she decides to call Kayla to tell her he's coming home after a few rings, Kayla picks up "Hey Gemma" She answers "Hey baby, I was just calling you to let you know Nero's coming home today" Kayla answers excited "That's great, Gem Lucius will be so happy he misses his dad, I'll let him know" she adds "Wendy and Jax are here visiting" Gemma's caught off guard hearing this "Oh, what's going with them?" Kayla senses Gemma's heightened suspicions with reassurance she says "Gemma, it's okay everyone and everything's fine I promise, we'll see you later" the older woman let's it go "Okay then I'll see you later, tell Lucius we love him" Kayla promises her "I will" with that she hangs up she has no reason not to trust Kayla she's a great and sweet girl and takes really good care of Lucius.
9:30am:
After hanging up with Nero, Gemma looks at her Tig asking "What do you want, Tiggy?" Tig smiles "I just wanted to give you the files from earlier" Gemma replies "Thank you" she waves him away "Go..beat it" he leaves quickly as Gemma puts the files on the desk for later. She picks up her purse and phone and heads to the hospital to get her husband, before leaving she lets the guys know where she's going "Hey guys" she began trying to get their attention walking into the garage, the guys look giving her their full attention "I'm going to the hospital for a bit, I don't think I'll be back for the rest of the day, Nero is being released today and I've gotta help him" they just nod in understanding going back to their work while Gemma leaves the office.
St. Thomas Hospital: 10:00am:
She arrives at the hospital few minutes later turning off the ignition she breaks down crying after some moments she stops trying to compose herself in taking deep breaths telling herself "Just calm yourself down" wiping her eyes and clearing her throat she gets out her car and walks into the hospital. Getting on the elevator she presses the button for the 3rd floor seconds later the elevator opens nervously Gemma steps in as the doors close, the elevator arrives on the 3rd floor. stepping off she walks to her husband's room.
Nero's Room:10:30am
Gemma walks into her husband's room "Hey baby, I'm here" hearing her voice he smiles as she comes over to his bed side "Hey Mama, I've missed you" they kiss each other she sits on the edge of the bed asking "So, ready to go?" taking his hand into hers, he nods as a knock comes Dr. Drake walks in "Nero, I have your discharge papers, I just need you to sign them and your free to go" the doctor placing the papers on the table, Nero signs them then shakes the doctor's hand as does Gemma "Thank you, doc for saving my husband and taking care of him" he smiles "You're welcome, I'm glad he's okay" he leaves the room. After the door shuts Gemma began "Nero, I called Kayla before I came here to tell her you were coming home" Nero looks at her asking "How's Lucius?" She smiles "He's fine, he really misses you according to Kayla" he face expresses sadness, she notices this "Hey, babe don't worry you'll see him soon, I know you miss him" She gives him a hug, he murmurs softly "I do..I miss him" They let go of each other after a long few minutes.
The two look back and forth at the each other, when Nero speaks asking "Gem, you remember when I asked if you wanted to pray for Talaya again?" She nods remembering that conversation "Yeah, I remember what about it?" Nero takes her hand suggesting "Let's go to the chapel before we go see her" Gemma looks at him standing up "Okay" she answers simply, he smiles standing up slowly, she notices he's a little unsteady so she places her hands around his waist "You alright?" she asked concerned, nodding he places his hands around her as they head over to the chapel.
Arriving at the chapel hand in hand they step into the quiet calm darkness walking over to the alter, Nero lets go of his wife's hand step up to the alter lighting the candles, Gemma stays where she is just watching him, Nero turns around to see where she is noticing she's where she was a few seconds ago when they walked in "Mama, you gonna come over here with me?" he asks concerned. Swallowing hard she takes a few steps making it to the alter, he squeezes her hand comfortingly as he's down on his knees "It's okay babe, I know this will help her" he adds "Come on" he says encouragingly, she finally lights a few candles closes her eyes and silently prays as Nero does the same.
After a few minutes both opening their eyes slowly gazing at each other, Gemma has to admit she does feel a little better now. They help each other up and head out of the chapel together and onto the NICU to visit their daughter.
Padilla Residence: 10:45am
Meanwhile back at Gemma and Nero's house Wendy, Jax and Abel whose in his carrier are planning a surprise welcome home party for Nero. Jax and Wendy help each other with putting up the Welcome Home, Nero banner while Kayla puts up a few balloons. Wendy turns asking Kayla "Did you get a cake?" Kayla shakes her head no. "We could though" she suggested, Wendy shrugs her shoulders. Finally the other young woman says "I'll go get one, I'll be right back" just as Kayla is about to leave, the house phone rings all 3 of them look at each other their minds and hearts racing finally Kayla presses talk "Hello?" Gemma speaks "Hey sweetheart, how's it going over there?" Kayla's heart is in her throat as she knows how Gemma is, Kayla takes some breaths trying to control herself as not let on to Gemma what's going on and to not give away what they are doing for Nero so she answers back calmly "Everything's fine, Gemma" she adds asking curiously "How's Nero?" Gemma looks over at her husband smiling "He's alright, still a bit weak though" Kayla clears her throat "That's great, Gemma, I'm so happy he's okay" the older woman walks around the hallway as Kayla continue to listens to her "I'm just calling to let you know we are going to the NICU to visit Talaya before we come home so we'll probably not be home for a few more hours yet" Kayla breathed a sigh of relief "Oh okay, Gemma and I kinda figured that" she adds "Yeah, well I'll call you when to tell you when we'll be coming home" Kayla answers "Yeah, okay sure no problem, see you later" Gemma answers back "See you later" Gemma hangs up as does Kayla sighing in relief announcing "That was Gemma she and Nero aren't going to be home right away they are going to visit Talaya in the NICU, so Gemma can't kill us yet for this little party" Jax and Wendy chuckle at Kayla's joke "Yeah really funny guys, well I'm going to get the cake" Wendy quickly walks over to her putting her hand on her shoulder "Let me get it" she offers, Kayla looks at her confused "What?" Why?" you think I can't pick up a simple cake?" she questions to which Wendy shakes her head no. "I just want to help you out because after all you have Lucius and you have to take care of him so let me do this and you stay here and take care of Lucius" Kayla looks at the younger woman surprised by her generous offer "Okay" she said giving her hug "Thank you, Wendy" the blonde hugs her back "You're welcome, I'll pick up some ice cream too" Wendy leaves for the store while Jax and Kayla stayed behind.
St. Thomas Hospital:NICU:11am
The couple arrive at the NICU, they hand each other gowns putting them on, Gemma presses intercom button "Can I help you?" a voice comes through the intercom "Yes, we're here for baby girl Padilla" Gemma said, the doors buzz, the couple goes in they go over to the sink, Gemma takes off her rings putting them on the sink as she washes her hands while Nero does the same, Gemma places her rings back on her fingers. They turn around looking for their baby finally finding her walking over, they smile as she looks over at them cooing "Hey, baby girl" Gemma whispers as Nero moves around the other side of the isolate gently tapping on the window of the isolate, the tiny baby looked over at her father, he smiles whispering "My baby girl, how you doing huh?" Gemma watches as the baby's chest rises and falls, opening the window to the isolate she reaches her hand through it gently rubbing her chest and abdomen, Gemma looked at Nero he chuckles as she pulls her hand out, Nero put his hand in taking her tiny fingers into his she grabs onto them with a tight grip he comments "Hmm, you've gotta a strong grip there, little one" after a few moments, Nero lets go taking his hand out closing the window, but continues watching her through the incubator.
Just then Amy comes over to the couple "Hey you two, let me get rocking chairs for you" they both nod as the younger woman returned with two rocking chairs, Gemma and Nero sit down in them. Amy smiles at the couple remarking to Nero "I'm so glad you're okay, Gemma mentioned you were sick" he nods. "Yeah, still a bit weak, but it'll get better with time"
As they are sitting there watching their daughter, Amy suggests "Would you like to try and feed her?" Gemma looks at the young nurse nervous, surprised and scared. "Uh, I don't know" Amy bends down placing her hand on Gemma's shoulder "Listen to me, you can do this, doing this you'll be able to bond with her more" she encouraged. Taking a deep breath, she shakes her head. "Okay..okay" Amy stands up. "I'm going to get you a breast pump so you can give her your milk she won't need much" she nods as Amy goes to get the pump, she comes back a few moments later with it giving it to Gemma who pulls up her shirt unclasping the front of her nursing bra placing the pump onto her breast; Amy reaches for a small bottle putting it under the pump turning it on after a few minutes the milk is in the bottle "Okay that should do it" Amy opens the isolate taking her baby blanket off it to which Gemma reaches for from Amy as the younger woman takes the tiny baby out, she starts crying a little as the nurse hands her to her mother "Here you go" she whispers as Gemma takes her in her arms happy tears stream down her face "It's okay sweetheart, mommy's got you" she says looking at her husband who is also emotional, Nero grabs her tiny hand holding onto it. Amy gives Gemma the bottle she puts into her mouth encouraging "Come on, baby, you can do it" moving the bottle around the baby's mouth trying to help her get the idea on how to suck, finally she does and takes the bottle swallowing the milk "Babe, look she's taking the bottle" he looked down at his baby girl "Daddy's so proud of you, baby girl" Amy quickly grabs a burp cloth placing it onto Gemma's right shoulder.
After a few moments, Gemma hands the baby over to Nero so he can feed her too, he slowly rocks her as she continues taking the bottle they both smile so, happy for this milestone in their baby's life. Nero hands Talaya back to Gemma and she continues feeding her, a few moments later Talaya finishes the bottle, putting it down in the table, Gemma places the burp up cloth onto her shoulder takes the bottle out of her mouth to burp her "Come on, sweetie you've gotta burp" she whispers in the baby's ear standing up putting her onto her shoulder swaying her back and forth a little finally she hears the burp it comes with a little spit up to which she wipes her mouth with the cloth.
She sits back down in the rocking chair, when Nero speaks up "Let me hold her, babe" Without a word Gemma hands her over him "You got her, watch her head" he nods carefully taking her into his arms "Hey you" he kisses her on the cheek, rocking her while Gemma looks on from the other rocking chair.
After a few minutes, Gemma breaks the silence "I'm gonna go outside for the some air okay" Nero nods. Gemma walks out of the NICU and into the hallway she looks around taking a few steps away she slides down the wall and breaks down crying.
Padilla Residence: 12pm
Kayla has returned with the cake and ice cream putting it away until Gemma and Nero come home – whenever that is meanwhile Jax and Kayla are making small talk while Wendy and Jax are making small talk, Abel is in Gemma's room napping.
St. Thomas Hospital: Outside The NICU: 12:30pm
Back at the hospital, Gemma has stopped crying now, she sniffles wiping the tears from her eyes with her sleeves of her shirt. She standing up, composes herself then walks to the elevators pressing the button the doors open seconds later she steps into it pressing the button for the 2nd floor it arrives there stepping off she walks into gift shop looking around she scans a few toys shaking her head, she spots what she's looking for: a pink "I love you" teddy bear and she buys a baby book picking them up she pays for the items with putting the book in her purse then heads back to the NICU upon her arrival there she sees Nero placing Talaya back into her isolate "There you, go baby, daddy's arms are tired and I'm sure you are too" Gemma walks over to him placing her hand on his back "Hey" he turns around to face her "Hey, you alright?" She asks concerned, he nods smiling as they kiss on the lips then look down at their baby she's smiling, Gemma gasps with tears in her eyes exclaiming "Baby, look her first smile!" Nero smiles welling in his own eyes whispering "I see" he noticed the tears streaming down her face he wipes them away with his fingers. Gemma places the "I love you" teddy bear she got for her baby in the corner and to the side of Talaya's face "Here, sweetie this is for you" she whispers, the baby coos. Nero remarks "I think she likes it" Nero holds her close to him.
"Ready to go home?" she asks still in his arms.
"Yeah, let's go" he says as they pull apart.
"Okay, sweetie mommy and daddy will be back again soon, we love you" she says she closes the isolate putting her blanket back on top of it.
Walking over by the rocking chair she goes to get her purse, but Nero stops her "I'll get it" he bends down picking it up handing it to her "Thanks, baby" he smiles "You're welcome" Gemma unzips her purse taking out her phone dialing home after two rings Kayla picks up "Hey Gemma" she says getting up from Lucius's bed going into the dining room "Just calling to tell you we are getting ready to leave the hospital now so we'll be home in a few minutes" Kayla looked over Jax nervously he just shrugged his shoulders shaking her head taking the phone away from her ear whispering "You're no help" Putting the phone back to her ear she continues listening to Gemma "Nero can't wait to come home and see Lucius" Kayla smiles replying back "Yeah, I bet, Lucius can't wait to see him too" Gemma speaks again "Well, I'll let you go, see you in a bit" Kayla replies "Okay, see ya soon" Both women hang up.
Padilla Residence:12:45pm
Kayla goes back into Lucius's room announcing "Okay guys, that was Gemma saying she'll be home with Nero in a few minutes"
They're all gathered in the dining room waiting for Gemma and Nero to come home. Inside Kayla is nervous thinking: I hope Gemma doesn't kill us for this swallowing hard she plays with her hands then sits down in an empty chair to break the tension. "Kayla, do you think we should get out the cake and ice cream yet?" Wendy asks adding "Considering they will be home soon" Kayla thinks a few moments. "Well..okay that makes sense, I'll get it" Kayla gets up from the chair walking into the kitchen opening the fridge she takes out the cake then opens the freezer to get the ice cream at least this gives me something to do for a few minutes she says to herself. Wendy comes over to help her, the two women bring in the cake and ice cream into the dining room placing them both on the table.
1pm:
Just then they hear voices they all look at each other with nervousness recognizing the voices it's Gemma and Nero, with Jax chiming in "Mom's gonna kill us" both Kayla and Wendy nod. Outside the door Gemma takes out her keys trying to put the house key into the key hole that's when Nero remarks "I'm so glad we are finally home, Mama" he turns her towards him putting his lips on hers kissing her as his tongue slips inside her mouth, she moans softly, he hands travel under her shirt, but she pushes him away "Baby, we can't...not yet everyone's still in the house" she added. "Not that I don't want too.." She pats his chest, he smiles whispers "You know..." She smirks nodding knowing what he's talking about going back to her house key putting it in the hole they walk into the house when everyone yells "Welcome Home, Nero!" Gemma and Nero gasp they puts their hands on their chests. Gemma stammers "What-What's all this?" she questions both look around shocked. Kayla smiles comes over to them "It's a welcome home party for Nero, we wanted to it be a surprise, just please don't kill us..or me" Gemma and Nero look at each other unsure of what to say.
After they both calm down, Gemma gives Kayla a hug. "Thank you, sweetheart" Kayla's arms come around Gemma's body inside she's confused and shocked thinking: She's thanking me, wow both Wendy and Jax look at each other equally surprised, but let it go as Gemma and Nero hug them a Gemma continued to hold Abel in her arms, Kayla cuts the cake while Wendy opens the ice cream, but looks for scooper, but notices it's not at the table, she remarks. "Oh I forgot the ice cream scoop" Gemma chimes in "I'll get it and some plates" Wendy nodded as Gemma called out from the kitchen "What does everyone want to drink?" Jax yells "Beer" Wendy nodded agreeing "Beer for me too" Nero yelled out "Water" Nero looks to Lucius asking "Mijo, what do you want to drink?" Nero sits down in the empty chair. Lucius replies "Milk" After cutting the cake Kayla helps Lucius walk over to his father with his crutches, Nero picks him up placing him on his lap while Kayla walks into the kitchen to help Gemma with the drinks and plates, but first goes back into the dining room for the scooper handing it to Wendy "Thanks" the brunette younger woman walked back in the kitchen getting the drinks. Gemma cuts the cake and gives everyone a piece.
Kayla returns to the dining room with everyone's drinks handing them out except for Gemma since she already has hers in her hand. Gemma hands Wendy her a piece of cake. Gemma sat down at the table beginning to eat her own cake and putting her glass of milk down on the table. They all make small talk about Talaya "She's doing great, looks a bit more human and we got to feed her for the first time" she smiles proudly adding "Oh she smiled for the first time as well" Kayla, Jax and Wendy all smile brightly at the good news so happy for the couple.
2pm:
An hour later, the party breaks up, everyone helps clean up bring the plates into the kitchen and throwing away all the garbage. After that, Jax and Wendy decide to leave giving Kayla, Lucius, Gemma and Nero some time alone."Gem, we're gonna leave now, you all need some time alone with each other" Gemma nods. "Okay, sweetheart, see you guys later" she kisses them all goodbye as Kayla walks them out meanwhile Gemma helps Nero up from the chair and into their bed to rest, they finally make it to the bed, Gemma sets him down gently taking off his shoes for him putting over out of the way then lays him down. She stays on the edge of the bed stroking his hair from his face saying "I'm so glad your home" Nero takes her other hand into hers as she lays her head on his chest with his other hand he strokes her hair.
Back in the kitchen Kayla shuts the back door after Jax, Abel and Wendy leave then helps Lucius back into his room shutting the door behind her leaving Gemma and Nero to have some time to themselves. Gemma walks around to her side of the bed removing her boots then crawls into the bed beside her husband kissing him on the lips slipping her tongue into his mouth, while removing his shirt, his hands instinctively go the back of her head, but then he pulls away "Mama, you know I can't-we can't-" she puts her fingers to his lips to quiet him "I know, baby relax" he sits up against the headboard, he places his hands underneath her shirt unclasping her bra removing it then takes off her shirt throwing it into the floor as she again kisses him on his lips, traveling down to his neck biting gently, he moans murmuring "Mama..." he's already getting hard just by her kissing him. She looks at her husband unsure if he wants to continue being that he just got out of the hospital and is still a bit weak. She helps him sit up from the headboard "Baby, are you sure you want to continue?" She asks adding "If not it's okay I understand we can stop save this for later when your more up to it" not wanting to force him into this little escapade if he's not ready.

Jax and Wendy return home, with Wendy putting Abel in his crib for his nap since he's a little fussy. Wendy shuts the door behind her and goes into her and Jax's bedroom with Jax joining her there, they shut the door, Jax starts kissing her, she kisses him back as he picks her up gently placing her onto the bed, she rips off his shirt, tugged at his shorts she can feel his hardness between her legs she moans his name "Jax.." he pulls off her jeans and panties as the rest of shorts come off, he slips himself inside her, his body grinds with hers, she moans loudly as he goes deeper into her, her hands grip his back.
Padilla Residence:2:45pm
Back in their bedroom, Gemma still has her shirt and bra off sitting beside her husband. Nero kisses her, but she stops him "Baby, we don't have to do this right now" she reminds him adding "You didn't answer my question" Nero caresses her cheek "I'm okay, I want this, I want you" She cups his face with her hands "I know, sweetheart, but it's okay, we can do this another time, you don't have to try so hard to make me happy I'm already happy, I love you" he questions "You sure, Mama? because I know how you are" adding "I love you too" She shakes her head yes holding his hands into hers. "I promise, we'll do this again right" They kisses each other passionately, but pull away quickly.
Seconds later, Gemma gets up from the bed walking around to get her shirt and bra from the floor putting it back on while Nero picks up his shirt struggling to put it back on, Gemma notices this and rushes over to help him "There you go" his shirt is now on, he kisses her. Instead they decided to cuddle with each and within a few minutes they are both asleep.
Teller/Case Residence
In their bedroom, Jax is still inside Wendy she moans in pleasure with each thrust as her legs automatically go onto his hips, they kiss each other passionately, she murmurs softly in his ear "I love you, Jax" Jax whispers back "I love you too, baby" both climax as he pulls out of her. After a few minutes Jax and Wendy's breathing calms down from their love making, they turn over onto their sides looking at each other. "I can't wait to renew our vows" She says as Jax kisses her gently. "Me too, darlin'"
