After finishing the day's tasks, Thrawn entered the room that had become their mutual home. He smiled when his eyes found his beloved resting on their bed. He crossed the room quietly and knelt down next to her. She smiled, opening her eyes as he gently took her hand.

He opened his mouth to tell her how much he had missed her, when his communicator went off. He let out a sigh of disappointment and answered.

"Sir, I'm sorry to bother you," a voice crackled through the communicator. Dolya reached up to cup his face, and he turned his lips toward her hand. The voice continued, "The scouts were debriefing, and they mentioned finding stone markings."

Thrawn's attention turned, "What sort of markings?" he engaged. Dolya smiled and rolled her eyes as the voice gave a minimal description. Thrawn's mind was busy as the interloper finished the conversation.

"Come on," Dolya pulled Thrawn's thoughts back into the room, "I'll go with you."

She started getting up, knowing that his mind couldn't tear itself away from a good puzzle, but Thrawn had more than one desire at the moment. He climbed into bed, "Perhaps not just yet."
