Chapter 2: Rise of Infamy
Wednesday
Time 7pm
After a long day Red Hat had yesterday. Red Hat went to sleep early to get some more rest then yesterday. A habit of Red Hat, was always sleeping in very late into the day. Even after his alarm clock went off. He just went back to sleep after he turned it of. His quiet sleep wouldn't last for long as Jaden entered his room.
"Hey wake up man!" exclaimed Jaden, causing Red Hat to stir.
Red Hat yawned as he slowly got up from his bed. "Morning Jaden, something going on?"
"Hey Red Hat, it's time for breakfast. If you don't hurry there might not be any left!"
Red Hat rubs his eyes as he stretches, signaling he's fully awake. "Anything else, besides breakfast Jaden?"
"Also it's Dr. Crowler's class today. It may not seem like much, but better we start out well." said Jaden.
"If you say so. Lets go and get breakfast." said Red Hat, as the duo left his room, to head for the cafeteria. Both of them met up with Syrus and Chumley ate their breakfast. Once all of them were done, Jaden, Red Hat and Syrus left the cafeteria and head of to class for the day. Chumley stayed behind and went back to his room.
Time: 9am
Red Hat was now sitting in class just a couple seats above Jaden. Red Hat immediately regreted what he said about, how class was going to get better. Currently in Dr. Crowlers class, Red Hat was so bored out of his mind, just listening to him drone on and on. 'This is supposed to be High School level classes even if its for dueling. Even if you are just starting out this is the most bare bones basics I ever had the misfortune of listening to. If it's not about dueling then what's the point?' Red Hat fought the urge to fall asleep in class. Normally he wouldnt care if he slept in class, even when he was kid, but this felt a lot more tedious to sit through then when Red Hat was much younger.
Most of the things that were being explained Red Hat had already learned way back as a kid when he started to duel more seriously. Red Hat had to learn not only rulings, but also how various effects actually worked. 'These guys act like this stuff is brand new. What are they even teaching here anyway? If its like this for all 3 years then, this is gonna be a very long three years. Why am I even bothering at this point. Oh right, I need that quota for entry to the Pro leauges, Like it or not, I have to put up with it.' Red Hat cringed at the thought of having to sit though these classes, and being bored out of his mind. Just yesterday when he took his first class he already regreted going as there was literally nothing new to learn and the assignments were either a complete joke or had nothing to do with dueling..
Once Crowler was done with his lecture, he asked the students questions relating to how card effects can be activated when certain conditions are fulfilled. 'This is so pathetic. I learned this stuff long ago. Does this really need to be taught or relearned? Then again when I dueled a lot of people had to explain everything. Otherwise I constantly get accusasions of cheating.' While Red Hat was having his internal monolog, Crowler then directed his attention to the lower seats, eyeing the Slifers to pick up the next vict...um, canidate for the next question. He notices that Red Hat was starting to fall asleep.
"You there. The boy in the Red Hat." Red Hat stood up at the sound of his name. 'If you're gonna ask me one your very simple questions then, you're only gonna be making a fool of yourself. I know what you're trying do.'
"Yes? What s it?" asked Red Hat
"Name at least 5 cards that can take control of your opponents monsters Monster, Spells, and or Traps?" Crowler asked Red Hat.
Red Hat had mentally face palmed as he heard that simple question. 'Are you for real? Only a complete dolt would not figure this out.' Crowler held a smug look on his face, expecting him to not be able to answer. However Crowler was soon thrown for loop.
"There are plenty of cards that can do just that. First off is Change of Heart which is simple Target a monster my opponent controls and get control of it until the end phase. Next up is Brain Control which is the same thing only that card requires you to pay 800 life points first and only face up monsters. Then there is Mind Control which I can take control of that monster only it cant attack and can not be tributed, though that hardly matters as if you are playing that card you arent using it for tributes in the first place. Then theres Enemy Controler which one of the effects I can chose to tribute one monster I control to take control of my opponents monster though you almost never want to activte that effect of Enemy Controler unless you have a very specific combo ready. Then theres the Equip card Snatch Steal which I equip to an opponents monster and I take control of it though during their standby phases they gain 1000 life points. If you want more niche monster control cards then theres Chthonian Polymer which you can control a fusion monster your opponent just summoned at the cost of tributing a monster you control. Shadow Tamer which is a flip effect can take control of a fiend type monster my opponent controls until the end phase. The Elemental Charmers Aussa, Eria, Hiita, and Wynn also flip effect they take control of a monster of their specific attribute until they themselves leave the field or if their effects are negated. Need I say more Dr, Crowler." Red Hat explained with a smug look on his face.
Once Red Hat was done with his explaination, everyone was starring at him with stunned looks. Not only was he able to answer the question correctly, he also explained the details about the conditions required to activate cards as well as the restrictions on some of them. 'Why are all of you surprised? This is the most bare bones basics to learn, yet you guys act like I just won a tourmament or something.' Red just smirked at the whole class for his own performance. 'If I want I can humiliate this class even further, just to show how laughable these classes are.'
"You know if you want to actually want and try to get me, ask me harder questions. Something tells me you are bewilered that a Slifer Red can prepare for your simple questions." Crowler now got angry at the fact Red Hat would dare talk back and mock his lessons. Red Hat held back from laughing at Crowlers reaction. 'Heh, guess not only the Obelisks, but also the staff have a short fuse when they get called out for their foolishness.'
"I BEG YOU PARDON! YOU DARE MAKE A MOCKERY OF ME AND MY LESSONS!" Crowler screeched. Red Hat held was almost on the verge of laughing.
"I just did Dr. Crowler, now ask away if you actually think you can get me." Red Hat challenged.
"Ill make you regret that. Next question I want you to answer, name cards that can negate Spells or Traps?" Crowler did not hold back his anger.
"Royal Decree a continuous trap, Neagte all Traps and the field except itself and other traps can not be activated. Imperial Order, neagte all Spells on the field and that are activated and spells can not be activated and youhave to pay 700 life points to keep it on the field so you can chose to not pay the cost and destroy it. Horus Black Flame Dragon LV8 and Silent Swordsman LV7, both can neagte Spells that were activated while they are on the field and any spell you play will get negated though not sure why you would even do that. The famous Jinzo negates all Traps both facedown and faceup while he's on the field. Single negation cards, Magic Jammer neagte a spell by discarding 1 card. Seven Tools of the Bandit negate a Trap by paying 1000 life points. Trap Jammer can only be activated during the battle phase, negates a trap though it really only stops battle traps. Theres a lot more I can mention and explain but then we be here all day." Red Hat finished explaining, now holding back a smirk as to not laugh at Crowlers expense.
Crowler was now fuming mad. 'I wont let this Slacker make a mockery out of me!' The rest of the class continued to stare at Red Hat either with stunned looks or fuming in the case of the Obelisk Blues, for Red Hat daring to disrespect them and Dr. Crowler.
"Now then answer me this! Explain other ways to summon a Fusion monsters that dont require to use Polymerization!?" Crowler aksed Red Hat again. Red Hat only smirked once again. 'Are you for real? You either are out of touch or you dont really know your stuff. Could also be that who you teach are complete dolts.'
"The X-Y-Z monsters X Head Cannon Y Dragon Head and Z Metal Tanks when on the field you cam banish them from the field to special summon their respected Fusion monsters and you dont use Polymerization, though you're summoning XYZ Dragon Cannon if we're being honest with ourselves. Metamorphosis, Tribute a monster that has a level which also includes Tokens then special summon a Fusion monster with that exact level. Then theres the Attribute Hex - Sealed Fusion monster cards where you can tribute it and the other monster(s) that meet the requirments to special summon that fusion monster of its specific attribute. Lastly theres that prize card that came out some time ago called Cyber Stein which you can pay 5000 life points to special summon a fusion monster." Red Hat left out the fact if you cheat out the fusion monsters this way its not treated as a fusion summon, so they can not be revived if they get destroyed. 'These guys can figure that out on their own. Im wasting my time even explaing this to them.'
"Seriously Dr. Crowler is this really all you got or have you finally given up? It feels more like you're indirctly mocking yourself for trying to make a fool out of me." Red Hat as he merly shrugged.
Crowler was now enraged that Red Hat had outsmarted him and made a mockery out of him. The Obelisk students were glaring daggers at Red Hat. Red Hat took noticed and just ignored them. 'Do I have a death wish? Maybe but I dont care. I dont respect people that clearly dont deserve it.'
"Thats enough! If a trouble maker like you keep this up, I will personally have you suspended!" Crowler snapped at him.
Red Hat couldnt help but start laugh. "You couldnt handle the fact that a Slifer Red preformed well so you're resorting to punishment, because I hurt your precious ego and you cant come up with a comeback."
Now the entire room was completly stunned at Red Hat total lack of respect and shame for his actions. Crowler was having none of this. "Unless you want more trouble then you already are, leave this classroom this instant and don't come back until you learned your lesson!" Crowler ordered
Red Hat just shrugged and dismissed anything else he said. "Whatever, I rather be doing something more productive then stay in this boring class anyway." Red Hat gave one last remark before leaving the classroom. Once Red Hat left the classroom, everyone where muttering to themselves at the situation that just happened. No one before today would ever do such a shameless act of disrespect... besides Jaden Yuki once, but that was to defend his budy.
"Wow Syrus that was incredible at what just happened. Red Hat not only stood up to Dr. Crowler he even outsmarted him and he gets to leave class. Man he's lucky." Jaden stated.
"Um, Jaden, Red Hat got in huge trouble for that performance. Dont you think we should be worried about him?" asked Syrus
"Nah, we really shouldnt Sy, Red Hat just showed he can take care of himself although, I really can't wait to duel him, he really knows his stuff. And how I rank as the best with him." Jaden got excited at the thought at dueling Red Hat after said performance.
"Unless you two want detention or another round of explusion BE QUIET!" Crowler screeched at them. Jaden and Syrus both piped down as they dont want to go through that again.
Wednesday
Time 1 PM
Red Hat spend time wondering the hallways in the main building looking for anything of interest as he had nothing else to do. 'What a waste of my time being in that class. If I really wanted to I can skip class and ignore all this, but the exams is what I need to pass if I want to get anywhere, even if it means putting up with all that.' Red Hat had to think this through. 'They say you can advance rank by scoring high both written and practical, yet its not mandatory to advance to the next dorm as far as I read. So I can score high and stay in Slifer Red, works for me. Rather not be a part of those egotistical Obelisk Blues or even the Ra Yellows. Although the Ra Yellows are no where near as bad as the Obelisk Blues.'
As Red Hat was lost in thought, he kept on roaming until he found what was supposidly the card shop. 'So this is the card shop eh? I assume you can buy packs and other stuff with Duel Points.' Red Hat soon reached the counter where he saw a girl at the counter. "So here is where I can buy booster packs right?" Red Hat asked the counter girl.
She turned to look at him "Yes you can packs here. Huh I dont think I ever seen you before. You must be a new student to ask such a question." she said before realizing something. "Hold on, shouldnt you be in class?" she asked clearly not amused as a supposed trouble maker is at the card shop.
Red Hat just shrugged "I just transfered here to Duel Academy a couple days ago, and if you are wondering why Im not in class, well after the stunt I pulled. I got kicked out of class. Not that mind it much to be honest. I found the class very boring and underwelming to begin will. Well I do admit I enjoyed the performance I pulled back there." Red Hat explained himself not caring about his predicament.
The counter girl now scowled at Red Hat. "With that attitude, you be lucky to even stay at the academy let alone rise in rank and graduate."
Red Hat responed with slight laughter "I rather not rise in rank as rank doesnt really determin ones dueling skill as far as I'm concerned. Look I dont really like going to class unless it's an exam, as I tend to learn what ever material I need on my own without wasting my time in class." explained Red Hat "Look that's enough with explaining myself, you got any new packs or anything worth while?" he asked, curious to see what cards he can obtain.
The counter girl ignored his arrogance though still annoyed. 'I never met someone so arrogant and shameless. He really must be a trouble maker with that kind of attitude.' "Well then heres a new box we just got and contains newly released cards and some other rare cards, though quite expensive 300 duel points per pack, 3000 if you want to buy the full box. Its only 10 packs though as its newly released where normally its 20 packs per box." she explained
Red Hat just smirked for a bit after hearing that. "Ill take the full box then. When ever theres new cards I got to check them out. Might even build a new deck if I can get anything good. So heres the duel points." Red Hat paid for said purchase. The counter girl was shocked at how much he had and spend.
"Wait over 3000 duel points yet you only dueled one time? How can that be? Almost no one get Duel Points this fast." she said. 'A trouble maker from Slifer Red should not have this much Duel Points.'
Red Hat just shugged as he didnt consider this a big deal "I had a duel with an Obelisk Blue a few couple of days ago. I beat him without taking any damage at all."
"If you beat an Obelisk Blue student with no damage then you must very skilled duelist." replied the counter girl.
Red Hat mentally deadpan at such a compliment 'The guy wasnt even that strong if he fell for the slightest bit of removal I played.' he shook it off, as there was no point in remembering that. "Im not the type to praise my own accomplishments, especially when its not necessary." he said
"Well then, what ever floats your boat I guess. Here you go." she gave him the box of packs he just purchased.
"Thanks you miss." Red Hat thanked before leaving the shop.
'For a trouble maker you sure do have manners, or are you trying to be nice just to hide the fact you're actually really arrogant and cold person.' she thought clearly having mixed feelings for this arrogant Slifer Red.
Red Hat decided to leave the academy build and went back to his room to open up the packs he just bought. 'What new cards are even in these packs? Well, I'll find out soon enough.' He kept on walking back to until he reached the Slifer Red dorm.
Time 3:30pm
After spending some time opening all the packs and orginazing them in verious boxes he had which contained various decks and cards he may or may not use. Most of the cards Red Hat obatined were unremarkable to say the least. Most had underwhelming effects. Though a few cards stood out to him which he placed near him. 'Dandylion, Solemn Judgement, Megamorph, and Crush Card Virus. Since I got multiple copies of Dandylion and Solemn those would be an auto include, Negation is important. Dandylion effect could become very useful especially as a Foolish Burial target so I dont have to rely on Treeborn Frog. While it does have some limitations; something tells me that restriction isnt gonna matter in the future so its best I keep him.' as Red Hat kept on thinking he then started thinking where to place crush card and Megamorph. 'Crush Card Virus, my best target for it is Sangen though that would lead to much to chance but could win me the game if im lucky enough to destroy my opponents best monsters. Playing a fiend deck or the specifc search cards can lead to a bunch of dead draws so I must be careful or not play said cards at all. As for Megamorph that will go with my Machine deck with Cyber Stein, though I need to be careful I dont draw them to early if i dont have the set up.' Red Hat decided to rearrange his deck to make room for Solemn cards and Dandylion, while putting Crush Card Virus and Megamorph in another decks he had or was lanning to make.
Time 4pm
After preparing his deck, Red Hat left his room and decided to head back to the main gate at the academy building. Class was soon coming to a close. Red Hat laid back on one of the stone walls until the other students came out of the academy building. What felt like an eternity, Red Hat soon came face to face with a bunch of angered Obelisk Blue Students.
"So you're that Slifer Slacker that made a mockery out of Dr. Crowler and the entire class." an Obelisk student confronted Red Hat
"You're gonna pay right here right now you Slifer Scum" another Obelisk student said.
Soon many more Obelisk Blue students surrounded Red Hat. Red Hat just smirked and dismissed their meaningless threats. "You pesky Obelisk are just gonna waste my time. Not like I got anything else to, so may as well duel all of you then." Red Hat challenged.
"Your gonna regret ever facing off with the Elite Obelisk Blues." the first Obelisk readied his duel disk.
"Please the only thing I'm gonna regret is wasting my time with you simpltons." Red Hat readies his duel disk not even caring about the Obelisks very bad attempts at threatning him.
DUEL
Obelisk Blue: 8000 LP
Red Hat: 8000 LP
"I'll go first if you dont mind. Its go time. I Draw!" Red Hat draws.
Hand 6
Red Hat drew his card and smirk at what he drew. 'Either Im lucky today or fate wants me to crush these guys.' he thought. "Okay I summon Sangen in attack mode (Atk: 1000 Def: 600). Then I place 2 cards facedown and end my turn. Your move"
Hand 3
"Is that all you Slifer Slacker. I Draw!" Obelisk Blue draws.
Hand 6
"Get a load of this I summon Goblin Attack Force in attack mode! (Atk: 2300 Def: 0)" As a horad of Goblins appeared, Red Hat just smirk at his foolish play.
"Go Trap Crush Card Virus! I can only activate by tributing a dark attribute monster with 1000 or less attack. Since Sangen meets the requierment I'll Tribute him!" As the fur ball left the field a powerful virus spread to the Goblins and the Obelisk Blue's hand. "Now all monsters with 1500 or more attack are destroyed including the ones in your hand. Then for the next three turns everytime you draw you must show me what you draw and if its a monster with 1500 or more attack then it gets destroyed. Also thanks to Sangens effect if hes sent from the field to the graveyard I can add a monster with 1500 or less attack from my deck, so I chose Cyber Stein."
The Obelisk gasped as both his Goblin Attack Force and 3 Monsters in his hand were destroyed. 'Damn if only I could tribute for this monster.' he thought, now in a panic. "Ill just this facedown and end my turn."
Hand 1
"Heh, Its my turn, I Draw!"
Hand 5
"I play Foolish Burial I send a monster from my deck to the graveyard I chose Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys. Now I play Premature Burial I pay 800 LP to special summon Sacred Phoenix back from the grave. (Atk: 2400 Def: 1600)" A Phoenix covered in flames risen in a firey furry.
Red Hat: 8000 - 7200 LP
"Now I summon Cyber Stein in Attack mode.(Atk: 700 Def: 500)" A small Cyborg appeard which it appeared to be overflowing with energy. "Now I activate Cyber Steins effect I pay 5000 LP to special summon a Fusion monster. So come forth Gatling Dragon!(Atk: 2600 Def: 1200)" Cyber Stein realsed a huge wave of energy creating a worhole where a Cybernetic dragon with two Lazer galting guns appeared.
Red Hat: 7200 - 2200 LP
"Now Gatling Dragon, Sacred Phoenix, and Cyber Stein attack that Obelisk directly!" The Cybernetic dragon fired a barrage of Lazers, while Sacred Phoenix unleashed its flames and charged at the Obelisk. Cyber Stein marely charged and punched him.
Obelisk Blue: 8000 - 5400 - 3000 - 2300 LP
"Ill end my turn with another facedown and end my turn. Now its your turn."
Hand 1
Obelsik just shook it off. "You call yourself a hot shot you're almost out of life points. I Draw." The Obelisk drew his card.
"Crush Card Virus is still in effect, lets see what you drew." Red Hat reminded him.
Hand 2
Obelisk revealed his card which turned out to be Premature Burial. "Not a monster but Ill play it right away to revive my Goblin Attack Force."
Obelisk Blue: 2300 - 1700 LP
"Go quick play Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your Premature Burial." A power Typhoon came out and destroyed the equip card.
"Grr, fine Ill play my facedown Call of the Haunted to bring back Goblin Attack Force! (Atk: 2300 Def: 0) But they wont stay on the field for long as I Tribute them to summon Great Manju Garzett!" The Goblins disappeared to be replaced with a dark fiend wearing armor. "Great Manju Garzett gains attack point double to that of the tributed monster so he gets 4600 attack points!"
Red Hat now began laughing at the Obelisk last ditch effort to try and win. "Go Counter Trap Solemn Judgement! I pay half my LP to neagte the summoning of your monster and destroy it!" A wave of Holy Light from the sky blasted Great Manju Garzett and was destroyed.
Red Hat: 2200 - 1100 LP
"Ah, no way I got no deffense no spells no traps nothing. I end my turn" The Obelisk was bewildered at what now just happened.
Hand 0
"This duel is over. I draw!"
Hand 2
"Sacred Phoenix finish him off. Phoenix Flare!" The Phoenix engulfed itself in flames and charged at the Obelisk Blue depleting his LP
Obelisk Blue: 1700 - 0 LP
"How can I lose to a Slifer Red?!" Red Hat just shrugged off this Obelisk Blue's trantrum. "Rank means nothing, Rank does not determin skill. So long as I'm here, I'll be sure to keep up the pressure." Red Hat dismissed, though the Obelisk werent gonna let him go that easily.
"You just got lucky you Slifer Slacker just try and beat more of us!" another Obelisk retorted.
"Bet you cant beat all of us, can you!" another Obelisk Blue said.
Red Hat was bewilered at them being so petty 'This is a waste of my time. You guys are so petty you're willing to ambush me to protect your sorry ego. Tch, not gonna happen.' Red Hat readied his duel disk agin "Very well if its Humiliation you want, its humiliation you'll get. Whos Next?!"
Meanwhile
Jaden was running through the halls in the main building with his friends trying to catch up to him. "Come on guys theres dueling going on at the main gate. I want to see the awesome duels." Jaden said with excitment.
"Jaden wait up!" Syrus cried out.
Once they left the main building they saw Bastion standing there watching what was going. "You three took a while to get here. What happened?" Bastion asked the duo.
"Bastion whats going on out here is someone dueling?" Jaden ask Bastion completely ignoring his question, still curious on who is dueling.
"That guy in the red hat, hes been dueling all those Obelisk for a while now. Not once has he lost. Whats really surprising though is that he's been dueling so aggressively that the Obelisk Blues that have been dueling him are left tired and exhausted after dueling, which shouldnt be possible given the circumstances." Bastion explained the situation thats been going on.
"Wow hes been dueling that many times and he's still dueling? Wow that so cool now im really excited to duel him!" Jaden said, very excited at the thought of dueling Red Hat.
They then see that Red Hat finished off another Obelisk. "Is this all you Obelisk Blues can muster. Not only has this been a disappointment, its a waste of my time. Remember this so long as I and frined of mine stay in Slifer Red your ranks will forever be meaningless." Red Hat stated before he finally decided to leave the area exhausted after dueling for so long, as the pesky Obelisks wouldnt leave him alone. All the defeated Obelisk scrambled and left the area running scared or in resentment. Red Hat was completly oblivious to the fact he just won over 8k duel points with all those duels he won. Jaden then decided to follow Red Hat before he took off.
"Hey Red Hat, wait up!" Jaden called out, as ran until he caught up to him. The others soon followed. "You dueled all those Obelisk and you didnt lose once. That is amazing, I cant wait to duel you now."
Red Hat just chuckled a bit at Jadens enthusiasim "Maybe some other time Jaden. After, what I been through today. It's best I take easy for while."
"Wait, you took on all those Obelisk Blues and not lose even once?" Syrus asked.
Red Hat just shugged his head at that question "Those Obelisk werent even that tough. Most of them just played either very poorly or had no counter play. To be quite honest I was underwhelemed."
"Hold on the Obelisk Blues are the toughest duelist at the academy and you say they arent that good?" Syrus asked. Bewillered at Red Hats over confidance.
Red Hat groaned at that. "Rank doesnt make a skilled duelist. Theres skilled duelist out there that are far stronger. They just dont care enough to actually show it off."
Bastion at that moment spoke up "You can do without that attitude of yours. After that fiasco you pulled in class, you're lucky to even stick around."
"Bastion wasnt it? Look thanks for the concern, but I'm telling you, Ill be fine. I dont like relying on others to help me out with my problems or problems I get myself into."
"Hold on how did you know my name?" Bastion asked.
"I overheard Jaden mention you. A friend of Jaden is a friend of mine"
"Well I'm flattered you noticed me and you consider me a friend. Although at the very least try to calm down and show some restraint, you dont want such a reputation here at the Academy. It's one thing to be the top duelist, its another thing to try take your anger out on the Obelisk Blues just to show off." Bastion warned
"You thought I was angry? I was just disappointed that those Obelisks failed to give me a real challenge." Red Hat poited out
"Look just don't cause trouble. The fact you were able to get away with it in the first place makes you already very lucky. Anyone whould have gotten suspension or worse expulsion." stated Bastion.
"Well I cant promise anything but Ill try not to cause a scene. Ill also try to not to go around and humiliate teachers or Obelisk Blues unless they try to threaten me." Red Hat said and now continued to head back to the Slifer Red dorm. The duo followed suit as well, while Bastion went back to the Ra dorm.
'If I have to prove whos really the best at the academy, then I got no other choice then to duel everyone I can then. I'm not gonna show off thats not my style.' Red Hat soon went to his room and went to sleep not even bothering going to dinner.
Time: 9pm
"Jaden you think Red Hat will be okay?" Syrus asked
"Yeah no kidding that guy is so strong and scary from the sounds of it, if he was able to duel and beat that many Obelisk Blues." Chumley said.
"Guys, something tells me Red Hat really needs to lighten up. I know he duels seriously, but he wasnt having fun. I saw that look in his eyes. He wants to have fun, but he wont let himself have fun. Maybe if I give him a good match he will lighten up." Jaden explained his plan to lighten up Red Hat.
"Jay, you're actually gonna duel him? He's not gonna be easy to beat, if he duels so aggressively." Syrus reminded him
"Sy, I never back down from a challenge. Sure he may be tough, but Im just as strong. I may not be able to duel him now, but I rather duel him sooner then later. If theres one person that can lighten him up, its gonna be me guys." Syrus and chumely were now in full support of Jaden's decision.
"Well Jaden if you're sure you can do it, then go for it. Show him what your made of!" cheered Syrus
"Ha ha, I knew you guys would come around. Well then lets hit the hay, but man cant wait to get my game on." Jaden said before he went to sleep. Both Syrus and Chumley paid no mind and decided to turn in as well. Unknowist to the trio, Red Hat was listening to their conversation.
'You really think you can pull that of Jaden? Well then I'll be looking forward to our match later on in the week Jaden.' Red Hat then had a seldom look on his face which he covered by his hat. 'Please dont disapoint me Jaden. With what you just declared it better not be all talk. Actually give me a challenge.' With that Red Hat returened to his room to turn in, ignoring his grumbling stomach as he didnt feel like eating.
A/N: If you are wondering why im calling Tag Force protagonist Red Hat. Well he has no canonical name despite what so many claim. He's even refered to as 'boy in the red hat' anyway so yeah thats why im not bothering giving Red Hat a name as its not needed. Some may find an issue with that but oh well. Until next time.
