Troublesome Days Continue
A/N: This took much longer then it was supposed to. If this chapter looks and feels very cluttered well... It does. Guess thats what happens when you try to combine 3 unrelated filler episodes into 1 chapter. My reason for this is cause many fillers have been remix to death so theres literally nothing new I can add and only slightly changing them wouldnt be very exciting. Also eventually Im going to stop typing in Time and days as it will get redundant as they dont have any real significence. Reason cause Tag Force 1 has a calendar system which was abandoned in the 2nd game and onwards. Hope this chapter doesnt disapoint but oh well.
Wednesday
Time 9am
The next moning, Chazz walked out of the school with a small bag slug over his shoulder. He looked at the academy with a sneer on his face. "Stinking Duel Academy. You demote me. You laugh at me. You get me expelled. Well thats it, I had it." He walked further away from the school. "You won't have me to kick around anymore."
As Chazz kept on walking and made it to the docks, he saw the person he least wanted to see standing near his personal yacht, Red Hat "Leaving so soon, Obelisk scum." Red Hat mocked, clearly enjoying Chazz's angry expression at the moment.
"Ahh, why do I have to see you first thing in the morning! If you think Im letting this go, you're wrong!" Chazz sneered, not amused by Red Hats pressance.
"Even if you didnt put that condition where you'd expell yourself you would have left anyway as you're that much of a sore loser. You lost to normal monster beatdown, already not a very high bar to lose to. Face it Chazz you arent has tough as you think. Heck you lost to Jaden and you lost to me by an FTK." Red Hat reminded him angering Chazz even further.
Chazz got on his personal yacht not wanting to listen him any longer. "Why you! You havent heard the last of me! When I come back you and Jaden are toast!" with that the yacht drove away. 'You havent heard the last of Chazz Princeton, Duel Academy. No way.'
Red Hat was watching the yacht drive away. "You're a spoiled rich kid and a coward Chazz. You can count on that." he said. Red Hat then noticed Pharaoh the Cat arrived and went near him. "Pharaoh? That means Banner is near by." As soon as he said Banner showed up behind him.
"Oh, how right you are Red Hat, Im surprised to see you here. Were you watching Chazz leave?" Banner asked wondering why Red Hat was here.
Red Hat just shrugged at that. "You could say that. I assume Pharaoh lead you here as you never leave the cat behind."
Banner chuckled at that. "Very observant are you. Well then how about we get going." Banner says as he picks up Pharaoh.
Both Banner and Red Hat ran into not only Jaden and Syrus, but also Alexis and two Obelisk girls which he assumed were Alexis's friends. Red Hat was observing the scene that was going on. 'This place is keeps on getting weirder. A dueling monkey, lab experiments, and bad scientist. Who funds these people or even the lab for that matter?' These are questions Red Hat wont get an answer for.
"How'd you find us professor?" Alexis asked.
"Like I said, I love animals. Of cours, it'd be hard not to be with a cat who can track as well as Pharaoh."
"Yeah but why were you looking for us in the first place?" Jaden asked.
"Well children, I wanted to tell you that Chazz is okay. Red Hat even knows as he watched him leave." Banner explained.
"Thats good news. Red Hat where did Chazz go is he okay?"
Red Hat sighed at this. 'You guys where looking for Chazz. Why though? That guy has serious issues hes not even worth looking out for.' he thought before answering Jaden. "He left the Island on what appeared to be his personal yacht, Banner even came when Chazz already left, when Pharaoh track down Chazz."
"We'll thats a shame." Jaden said
"Yeah I guess, he did make things interesting." Syrus agreed.
"Well, Im sure he'll be back someday." Jaden regained his positive attitude.
"Me too." Syrus added.
Red Hat eye twitched at what they both said. 'Why would you think that? That guy has some serious issues. Hes not a good guy to keep around, let alone duel.' Red Hat calmed downed a bit. 'Guess he unintentionally brings comedy onto himself. Thats really my only guess. In that case I guess he's good to keep around.'
"After all, good rivals are hard to find."
"Yes, and do you know what is not? Class, and since you cut out early today, we have some making up to do. So lets go. Red Hat you're joining us too." The kids groaned as Banner led them back to the school.
Red Hat just shrugged. "May as well, got nothing better to do anyway. It is your class Banner so may as well be entertained." As he said that the others began starring at him but continued walking.
'Is he for real? He acts all high an mighty on not going to class unless its for important matters like exams, but is willing to go to Professor Banner's class. I just dont understand you sometimes Red Hat.' Alexis thought.
Time 9pm
Later that night Jaden has been telling Red Hat what has been going earlier in the day. "So not only was there lab experiments, but a dueling Monkey kidnapped Jasmine one of Alexis's friends you dueled the Monkey not only to set it free but also to free Jasmine. This academy just keeps on getting weirder." Red Hat tried to grasp at what Jaden just explained to him.
"Pretty wild huh. Id say today was simply amazing. Got to duel a literal dueling monkey. Was a close match too." Jadenn said.
"No kidding it was a close match Jaden." Syrus reminded him.
"I would make a joke on going bananas but Im not going to." Chumley said as he went back to sleep.
Red Hat sweatdrop at what Chumely just said. "Well then its getting late Ill see you guys tomorrow." Red Hat left Jadens room and went back to his own. Red Hat could not stop think about whats gonna happen next. This academy was filled with trouble. Normally he would deal with it or just not care but its getting to a point where Red Hat can no longer ignore things.
'Just what else does this Island hold. Its like this academy is hiding a lot of things. Not to mention the blatant favorism this academy has.' with all these thoughts Red Hat went to sleep.
Monday
Time 12pm
Red Hat was now currently at a Tenis Court, watching Jaden play tenis with Alexis's friends Jasmine and Mindy. Needless to say, Jaden was not having a good time. Red Hat refused to even take part in this ridiculous sport so he was just standing by watching from a distance.
"Com on. Will someone tell me what in the world tennis has to do with dueling?" Jaden asked
Red Hat just shrugged at that question. 'Nothing what so ever. Granted I can say that for practically every other sport we play or most classes such as Professor Banner's class. Still though theres a reason I dont bother joining because of these scenarios.'
However others did not agree with this. "Everything." Mindy replied. "Taking turns, thinking on your feet, and the harder you play..." she paused hit the ball back to Jaden. "the better you'll do."
Red Hat overheard that and was clearly angry. 'Tch I call that pathetic. Your pulling mental gymnastics to justify this. All that you just mention wont do you good if, A Your deck is complete and utter garbage, B You have no plan or plan B when you get overpowered by the opponent, C If you dont have anything to distrupt your opponent, and D You cant deck build for squat as I nearly dueled every single Obelisk Blue and plenty of Ra Yellows with poorly build decks. I was not impressed in the slightest. In fact I was disapointed.' Red Hat thought bitterly.
"Well in that case..." Jaden jumped high up and gave the ball a powerful smash. But because it was hit at a bad angle, it was sent towards the next court, in Alexis' direction. "Alexis, heads up!" He yelled as the ball was closing in on her face. Fortunately someone jumped in and swatted it away from her.
Unfortunately, the ball got a new person as a target...
"That's Dr. Crowler..." The Obelisk Blue Headmaster was refereeing another match, when he noticed the projectile just before it smacked him in the right eye and knocked him down in the process.
Red Hat noticed what just happened. 'This is not good unlike before with Bastion. Crowler will try to blame Jaden for this and the Obelisk Blue cause, yeah bias to your 'elites' even though they are worthless. Just like you are.' Red Hat thought.
Red Hat was now watching the exchange between the Obelisk Blue and Alexis. He got closer to listen to what was going on only to instantly regret that and mentally deadpan at what he was listening to. 'Is this guy for real? Not only do I find this sad, its pathetic.' He cringed just listening to him ramble on and on.
"Okay, that was weird." Jaden commented after joining the group. But then, something sent a chill down his spine. That something, or rather someone was a certain Obelisk BLue headmaster who approached him from behind while gritting his teeth in anger.
Red Hat noticed this and decided to follow him and Jaden. 'This can not end well, Ill follow them. Ill deal with ridiculous farce later.' Red Hat then followed both Crowler and Jaden. Both of them completely oblivious to the fact Red Hat was following them.
Jaden found himself in the nurse's office, along with Miss Fontaine and Dr. Crowler, with Miss Fontaine treating Dr. Crowlers black eye.
"I'm really, really, really, really, really sorry." Jaden apologized. "How was that?"
"Nope. That's still not a good enough apology." Miss Fontaine turn Crowler's head in her direction. "A little harder next time, some of my vertebre are still intact!" He said angrily.
All of them were completely oblivious to the fact Red Hat was near the door listening in, and he was not happy. 'Scum of a teacher you are. All you care about is your pathetic grudge against Jaden. If it was Bastion or you 'precious Obelisk you wouldnt dare try to punish them. Complete bias if you ask me you get no sympathy from me you get what you deserve like every other Obelisk sum.'
"You know Dr. Crowler, I saw the incident and technically, Jaden wasn't even the one who hit you with that ball, if you dont mind me saying." Miss Fontaine stated while placing an ice bag on the angry doctor's black eye.
"Well I do mind, because Jaden was the one that started it! I saw the whole thing with my two eyes!" Fontaine gasped at what he said. "Well, one eye." Then sweat dropped when he corrected himself.
Red Hat overhearing that went from angry to full rage. 'Placing the blame on others especially ones you dont like, defend the awful people at Obelisk Blue and encouraging it, full bias and a huge ego. You are worse then scum, you deserve every amounts of humiliation you get and I dont feel sorry for you ever.'
"Cyclops." Jaden muttered.
"Hm? Care repeaating that, you Slifer Sludge?" Crowler asked as he turned towards him.
"Look, if you're gonna punish me, how about I just promise to quit tennis? I dont even like it."
"Dont like tennis, eh?" Crowler asked as he got up and walked up to him. "well, then I can think of no better punishment for your crime then. I'll make you play under the strict tutelage of our captain. He'll whip you into shape in no time."
"Come on! I said sorry!" Jaden repeated.
Crowler just got his face and said... "Oh yes, and you will be."
As both left the room they notcied Red Hat was standing besides the wall.
"Have you been eavsdropping on us!" Crowler sneerded, not happy at seeing Red Hat in the slightest.
"Yes, and I do not care. You are beyond scum." Red Hat said also angry at even seeing Crowler.
"I beg your pardon! You want to get in trouble as well!" Crowler yelled.
"You think I care? I dont respect you or your authority. You deserve every amounts of humilation you get. Nothing is gonna change the fact you are a lousy and abusive teacher." Red Hat pointed out which only made Dr. Crowler to get enraged.
"AHGH!, You are coming with me you Slifer Sludge!" Crowler demanded.
"I think not. You have no power over me and you never did and never will. You cant fool me, Im well aware what lengths you are willing to go to defend the blues where not a single one can stop me or keep up. Face it your trying to defend awful people because of bias. I refuse to take part in anything you do. Now back off!" Red Hat declared and soon walked off with no ounce of shame either. 'Scum like you deserve to be put down.' Red Hat thought as he kept on walking the other dirrection. 'I should check up on Jaden soon. This is not gonna end well.'
Crowler meanwhile was stunned at what just happened. 'That Slifer Sludge dares not only make a mockery out of me he dismisses everything and has the audacity to say this and in front of my face! That Slifer is a huge trouble maker! I wont stand for this!'
Jaden was also stunned. "Wow Red Hat that was amazing."
"Unless you want more trouble you're coming with me!" with that both Crowler and Jaden continued to where they were going.
As both Crowler and Jaden made it back to the tennis court both saw the Obelisk Blue there getting things orginized. "Harrinton Rosewood would you mind if you come over." Crowler said to him. As Harrinton heard him he left what he was currently doing, and went to Crowler.
"Dr. Crowler what do you need of me?" Harrinton asked.
"What I want you to do, is to put this Slifer Slacker in shape under your strict tutelage as punishiment for what he did." Crowler said.
"Is that all. Well then Its been a while since I had to whip up the last guy into shape. Dont you worry Dr. Crowler Ill make sure to give him a good lesson."
"Exellent, also if you see a Slifer Red in a red hat passing by here, and is the only person who wears a red hat. Put him in his place why you're at it Harrinton." Crowler smirked at the thought both Jaden and Red Hat will be given a punishment.
"If I see the guy. Ill make sure to remind him of his place Dr. Crowler. You can count on me."
"Ill leave Jaden to you then. And make Jaden pay." Crowler muttered that last part to himself. After that Crowler left the tennis court leaving Harrinton to do his thing with Jaden.
While at the Tennis court, Harrington was putting Jaden the major workout plan as he kept serving tennis balls at him with amazing speed. Despite his efforts, Jaden could hardly keep up and eventually sunk to his knees.
"I thought that we were gonna be... playing tennis, not... running speed drills." He said as he tried to catch his breath. Harrinton started servering another salve of balls towards the exhausted slifer. "Man, this guy doesn't let up." He got up and tried to hit them back, but tripped on a stray ball and fell down.
Harrington walked up to the net with a smirk on his face. "Come on Jadn, no pain, no gain. You've gotta hustle to build that muscle. You need to sweat to become a threat. If you don't pick up the pace, you wont win the race."
"Okay Harrington. You can lay off the sport cliches. I get it, I get it!"
At that moment Red Hat showed up to the tennis court. "How quaint, abuse of power because huge bias to Obelisk Blues." Red Hat apporached them glaring at Harrington.
Harrington turn to where Red Hat was walking and smirked. "Well now, what do we have here. Another Slifer Red and its the guy with the Red Hat. Dr. Crowler mention if you were to show up, Id puninsh you too." He said.
Red Hat just ignored him and apporached him. "Like thats gonna happen. Im here to take down worthless dogs like you, and nothing you say is gonna change that." Red Hat sneered at the Obelisk ready to do whatever he needed to do.
Harrington just brushed off Red Hat threat. "Ha Ha, you think a Slifer Red scares me? You dont hold a candle to my skills!" He declared. Red Hat just sighed at how pathetic this guy was.
"Ive heard that so many times its not even funny. Im sure you are just as much as a disapointment as all the rest." Red Hat said annoyed by Harringtons meaningless boasting.
"Well if thats how its gonna be then bring it on!" Harington said as he got his duel disk ready.
"Fine by me. Im gonna enjoy humilating you." Red Hat said as he got his duel disk ready. 'Especially with what kind of deck I got in store for you.'
At that moment is when Syrus Alexis and her friends showed up to the tennis court. "No way Red Hat is already here confronting the guy." Syrus pointed out as Jaden got up and went to them.
"No kidding, no matter in what predicament I end up in, Red Hat seems to always find me and give me a hand. And now hes dueling this guy." Jaden told them. "But I wanted to duel him!" Syrus just sweatdropped at that.
Alexis sighs at the confrontaition. 'Red Hat I know you want to help Jaden and you are only happy when you are around Jaden, but do you really have to pick up fights with every single Obelisk Blue even if its justified.'
"Game on!" Both Red Hat and Harington declared.
Duel

Harington: 8000 LP
"Ill start this off if you dont mind." Red Hat told him.
"Whatever floates your boat. Its not gonna matter though as I'll still beat you." Harington boasted. Red Hat just got annoyed by him.
"Then its go time. I draw!"
Hand 6
"I set a monster, then I set 5 cards facedown! I end my turn"
Hand 0
The spectators where stunned at the move Red Hat did. "Wait set five facedowns. I dont understand, why would Red Hat do that? Isnt that a very risky play?" Syrus asked.
"Usually setting 5 facedowns is very risky since if they get destroyed then you have no defence." Alexis mentioned. 'Hold up if his set monster is what I think it is then its still a gamble.'
"Thats all? Well thats really lame all bark and no bite. My turn, I draw!"
Hand 6
"Go trap! Time Seal you cant draw during your next draw phase." Red Hat anncounced.
"Whats the point of that? I already drew this turn. Not like it matters since I play the spell card Service Ace! Just like a power serve, it's gonna make you sweat. Here's how it works, I pick a card, then you have to choose if it's a spell, trap, or monster. If you guess right, you're fine. But if you guess wrong, well then... you get served with a stinging 1500 burn damage." Harington explained
"Burn Damage only from a guess? Big woop like I care. I guess Spell Card." Red Hat said.
Harington then gave him a small grin. "You sure? You can still change your mind you know."
"Dont waste my time. I chose spell." Red Hat responded already getting impaicient.
The Obelisk laughed and turned the card around to reveal Mega Thunderball. Red Hat dead panned at what he saw. 'Are you for real? Running a garbage vanilla monster just for the spell? Is your deck nothing but Tennis themed burn cards? Cause this is so lame. Also you have to banish the card aftward. Yeah not worth it.'
"Monster. Looks like we found something you're bad at you Slifer. Anyway now we'll put this card away and let loose the big stroke. Service Ace! Time for your warm up pal!" The spell glowed and let out a beam of light that crashed at Red Hat feet. Red Hat just stood there unphased.
Red Hat: 8000 - 6500 LP
'Does he think he can win like this? This strategy is so easy to counter its not even funny.' Red Hat though as he had things all set up if his next draw was successful.
"15-love! And I'll place this card facedown to finish the set. Your serve." He concluded while placing the facedown.
Hand 3
"My turn I Draw!"
Hand 1
"I play Graceful Charity, I draw three cards then I discard 2." (discards D.D Warrior Lady and Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer) "I summon Protector of the Sanctuary! (Atk: 1100 Def: 1900) Now I flip my facedown monster to reveal Morphing Jar! (Atk: 700 Def: 600) His effect we discard our entire hand then we draw five new cards!" Red Had explained. As Red Hat drew his five cards, as Harington discarded his last three cards and tried to draw cards a barrier was place to prevent him from drawing.
"Hey what gives you Slifer. I cant draw any cards." Harington complained unaware on whats going on.
"Arent you aware of Protector of the Sanctuary effect. You can't draw cards except during your draw phase and since you're trying to draw outside your draw phase Protector of the Sanctuary prevents you from doing that. In other words you have no hand." Red Hat explained to him with a smug grin on his face. 'There's rulings on how Protector of the Sanctuary can be used to prevent the opponent from drawing. Morphing Jar combo works just fine so it doesnt matter in this case.' Red Hat thought.
"So that was his plan to get rid of his opponents hand?" Syrus asked.
"Its not just that Syrus. Since he played Time Seal, so during Harington's next turn we wont be able to draw. So he would be wide open for an entire turn." Alexis pointed out
"So hes not letting him play at all thats so mean!" Jasmine complained.
"That's just too much. That guy is brutal." Mindy said.
'Red Hat just what kind of decks do you play?' Jaden mentally asked. Wondering just how far Red Hat is willing to go to prove a point.
"Now I play my next facedown Dust Tornado. Your Facedown card is destroyed!" A Tornado was unleashed and destroyed Haringtons facedown. "Battle Protector of the Sanctuary and Morphing Jar attack him directly!" Ghost figure coming from the sanctuary attacked while the spirit of Morphing Jar came out of the jar to attack.
Harington: 8000 - 7300 - 6200 LP
"I end my turn with that." Red Hat said now all smug.
Hand 5
"Grr You'll pay for that its my turn." Chains soon appeared on Haringtons deck prevent him from drawing.
"Did you forget about Time Seals effect? It skips your draw phase. Since you have no hand or cards on the field, theres noting you can do but end your turn." Red Hat pointed out.
"Wait this cant be. So I cant do anything?" Harington was baffled at what was happening.
"No you cant. End your turn now and stop wasting my time." Red Hat was getting irratated.
"Fine Ill end my turn."

"My turn I Draw!"
Hand 6
"I Tribute both Protector of the Sanctuary and Morphing Jar to summon Dark Magician of Chaos! (Atk: 2800 Def: 2600)" As the magician appeared, the spectators were stunned at what Red Hat summoned.
"Just where does Red Hat all these rare cards most people cant even get their hands on them?" Jaden asked both stunned and excited where this was going
"I dont think I can answer that." Alexis said still stunned. 'Just what else do you have Red Hat? Just how powerful are you?' Alexis mentally asked and was not gonna receive any answers.
"Dark Magician of Chaos effect when its summoned I can add a spell from my grave back to my hand and the only one is Graceful Charity. I may was as well play it again, so I draw three cards then discard two." (discards Jinzo and Brain Control) "I banish Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer and D.D Warrior Lady to special summon this, be born Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning! (Atk: 3000 Def: 2500)" As the warrior appeared. The group as now completely speechless.
"Hold on how can this be? Cards that rare are nearly impossible to obtain. How did Red Hat managed to obtain one of them?" Jaden asked.
No one would answer his question as the rest just stayed silent. 'Another Chaos monster. Red Hat just how powerful are you and you have so many powerful cards.' Alexis couldnt comprehend what she was just whitnessed.
"Just where do you get such powerful cards?" Harington asked shocked at what he was seeing. Red Hat ignored his question.
"Wouldnt you like to know, and I dont care. Black Luster Soldier and Dark Magician of Chaos attack him directly!" Dark Magician of Chaos charged his attack and fired a powerful blast from his scepter while Black Luster Soldier charged in and slashed Harington with his sword.
Harington: 6200 - 3200 - 400 LP
"Had enough yet? I hope not cause Im still going. I end my turn"
Hand 6
"There still has to be a way to win. My turn I draw." As Harington drew his card, Red Hat just stated laughing.
Hand 1
"There is no hope, go trap Drop Off! The card you just drew is instantly discarded." Red Hat announced with a smug grin.
"Theres just no way! I didnt even get to do anything! Just why is this happening!" Harington was now infuriated.
"You never had a chance in the first place. You didn't realize I was toying with you. To give you a false sense of hope even though I could have ended it on my last turn." Red Hat explained to him becoming even more annoyed. "You want more proof heres a card in my hand Ill show you." Red Hat reveals Monster Reborn. "I could have brought back any monster to finish the job, but I didnt. I just wanted to see you squirm some more. One of my facedowns could have negated your first spell but didnt do so. Face it you lost."
"I end my turn."

"Its all over. I draw!"
Hand 7
"I would summon more but I wasted my time long enough. Black Luster Soldier finish him off!" Black Luster soldier charged in once more slashing Harington and depletling the last of his life points.
Harington: 400 - 0 LP
Harington fell to his knees. " I lost in front of Alexis no less. This cant be happening!"
"Oh shut up you're an embarraassment after what you were doing earlier in the day. Dont think I didnt know what you were trying to do. You were trying to woo Alexis. Well guess what its not gonna work and all you were doing was annoying her and the rest of us." Red Hat got close to him. "Never show you face around us again." with that Red Hat went to where the group was glaring at Jasmine and Mindy. Meanwhile Harington ran off not even bothering to look back.
"Jaden lets get out of here and head back to the dorm." Red Hat said. Both Jaden and Syrus soon followed him leaving Alexis and her friends behind.
"Is he always this uptight and rude?" Jasmine asked Alexis.
"Yeah, hes not only rude hes also kinda of scary he looked like he wanted to hurt someone." Mindy added.
Alexis just sighed at their questions. "Dont bother you two. I dont understand him either. He's very unforgiving if he gets annoyed by anyone. Just leave him alone."
With that Alexis Jasmine and Mindy leave the Tennis court, heading their own way.
As Red Hat Jaden and Syrus were walking back to the dorm Jaden decided to break the silence. "Say Red Hat where do you get all these rare cards? So many of those cards are so rare many have been trying to get their hands on them." Jaden asked curious what else Red Hat had in his deck.
Red Hat just chuckled at his question. "Ive been collecting so many rare cards since I was a kid Jaden. Many of my powerful spells, traps, and monsters ive gotten since I was so young I became a very powerful duelist very quickly." Red Hat then suddenly remembered some painful memories. "I rather not talk about it though. Anyway I dont tend to use one deck I have many decks each one with its own specific style. The one you saw earlier was a hand control deck. Its notorious for being the most obnoxious deck to encounter. So obnoxious I rare use that deck unless Im in a bad mood." Red Hat explained to them both.
Syrus then spoke up. "So that deck you used a while ago. You were in such a bad mood you took it out on him using that deck? Red Hat you're scary sometimes."
"Ive been told that for ages. I stopped caring a long time ago what poeple call me. I take dueling very seriously. Most duelist I dueled were and are unimpressive." Red Hat explained.
"Your intense you know that right Red Hat. At least try to relax and have fun when you duel." Jaden said to him.
"So long as Im with you Jaden dueling is always fun. Its also relaxing sleeping in the Slifer Red Dorm." Red Hat assured him.
"Slifer Dorm really is great I tell you. Its nice and quite, It may not be big and fancy but it has a lot of charm."
"I like the dorm myself. I prefer it being quite then it being noisy in all the other dorms."
While Red Hat and Jaden were talking to each other, Syrus was thinking to himself. 'Man, when Red Hat duels and is else where hes very aggressive and often angry, yet when hes with Jaden hes all happy and enjoys talking to him and even dueling. I really dont get him sometimes. Im at least glad hes in a good mood.' Soon the trio made it back to the dorm and turned in for the day.
Wednesday
Time 11pm
It was late at night, and a duel was currently taking place in the forest. In a flash off light, and Obelisk Blue boy was thrown back and his cards were scattered around him as his life points hit 0. He looked up to see the opponet who defeated him. He was a giant person who wore a bunch of Obelisk Blue blazers all around him and black shades that covered his eyes. He bent down and took one of the loser's cards.
"I'll be taking this." The giant figure said. "You're lucky a card is all you lose tonight."
The Obelisk cringed in fear.
"Next time, pick on someone your own size." The giant chuckled as he left.
Thursday
Time 11am
During school, a bunch of Obelisk boys were talking about the duel that happened last night.
"I heard he picked off another one last night."
"Me too. They say he's huge, and that he can't be beat."
"I heard that..."
"Hey, what's up?" Jaden greeted as walked up to them, alon with syrus, Chumley and Red Hat.
The Obelisks turned to them and scoffed before they walked away, while glaring at Red Hat.
"Wow, is my breath really that bad?" Jaden asked no one in particular.
Syrus wasn't happy at their behavior either. "Lousy Obelisks. Whispering behind our backs and then just strutting off."
Red Hat just shurgged and acting indifferent. "Dont really care, like they can do anything to me without humilating themselves. Even then they should reconsider their life choices."
"Duh, guys. They're talking abou the Duel Giant." Chumley explained.
"Duel Giant?" Jaden asked.
"Yeah, some ginormous guy who's been challenging all the Obelisk Blue students to duels and winning. By the way, the scary part is he only comes out at midnight."
"Wait, I have heard about this." Syrus realized. "He takes their cards too!"
"Yup, makes them play with ante. You know, when you put up your best card and if you lose, you have to hand it over."
"Isnt that illegal though?" Syrus asked
"Sure is. Which is why he duels in disguise. See, he wears the blue blazers of all Obelisk students he's beaten."
Red Hat just remained silent and raised an eye brow at that. 'Not only does this show the Obelisk Blues are so laughably pathetic. But what cards could they possible have of any value that are even worth risking an ante in the first place? I dueled them and they have nothing value. I gain nothing from them besides DP anyway.'
While they were talking, Dr. Crowler was walking neardy and he was unpleased for certain reason. 'What an absolute nightmare. Some rouge duelist roaming te campus. Making a mockery of my Obelisks. Making a mockery of me!' He thought angrily. "And worst yet, this Duel Giant's breaking campus law with that ante rule, under my watch! If Chancellor Sheppard found out, I'd get fired!" He growled, but then noticed a certain group of Slifers, including someone in particular... "Jaden." It was then he smiled michievously and got an idea. "Wait of course. He could be the perfect way out of this predicament. Oh Jaden, my boy!" He called out as he approached them while smiling.
"He's being nice. Something's wrong." Syrus stated.
Crowler then noticed Red Hat was with Jaden. 'Oh great him again. I can't stand that boy in the Red Hat. No matter I'll deal with him in some other way.' He thought before regaining his composure. "How would you like to have no homework for the rest of the year, huh?"
"No homework?" Jaden asked.
"You and Syrus both. Well, if you help me that is. So what do you say?"
Red Hat just shook his head at that. 'This is clearly a trap Crowler is trying to set up. Though something tells me it will back fire on him spectacularly.' Red Hat thought.
Jaden grinned. "Alright!"
"Wait, help him doing what?" Syrus asked worriedly.
"Nothing really. Just going on a kind of field trip." Crowler said with a smile still plastered on his face.
What Crowler said made Jaden grin gain. "I love field trips."
"And I love grilled cheeses. But sometimes it depends on who's serving them." Chumley commented.
"So teach, where's this field trip taking us?"
"All around campus. I need you to duel and ID tthe fellow having these illegal matches. You know the one they call him the Duel Giant, I believe?"
"Sure, the guy that's whooping your dorm." Jaden cracked. Red Hat almost burst out laughing because of that. 'Its true these Obelisks Blues are so comically terrible. Yet they call themselves 'elites' where they are anything but that.'
As for Crowler, he pulled back, a look of disgust on his face at the remark. "I... I don't keep track of such things. Good luck, Jaden." When they left, he grined triumphantly. 'This is perfect. Once Jaden reports back to me with whoever this Duel Giant is, Ill have them both expelled for illegal dueling. I can't lose.'
"Alright! Let's find us this dino-sized duelist!" Jaden pumped his arm in the air.
"Uh, listen Jaden. Is it too late to say that this is a bad idea?" Syrus asked.
"Jaden, this is clearly a trap. Why else would Crowler ask you of all people to find this Duel Giant." Red Hat tried to tell Jaden.
"That may be Red Hat, but how could I turn down no homework, a field trip and a big duel?"
"By saying 'no'?" Syrus asked
"I mean, do you even know how to say 'no'?" Chumley asked.
"Yes." Sryus and Chumley groaned at Jaden's answer while Red Hat just shook his head. 'You're so carefree Jaden despite knowing such predicements. Well thats what I like about you. Despite bad things that happen every so often, you always come out smiling and cheerful. Maybe I should let loose every now and then, while Im with you.' Red Hat thought now smiling
"So, how are we gonna find this guy?"
Jaden shrugged at Syrus' question.
"Wait, so we dont even have a plan?! This is getting worse every minute!"
"Then I guess we'd better hurry up and get started." Jaden declared as the whole group went off in search of their target.
After some time, while Jaden and the other were searching for the Duel Giant. Jaden was taking the lead, and they found themselves in the dueling arena to watch a duel between an Obelisk and a Ra
"Jaden, if we keep taking breaks like this, we're never going to find the Duel Giant." Syrus complained.
"Really? Good." Chumley said.
"I dont really mind or care really, Im just following Jaden cause I have nothing better to do." Red Hat stated.
"Come on, Sy, this looks like a good duel."
Obelisk Blue: 200 LP
The Obelisk had a facedown and Marauding Captain on the field. (Atk: 1200 Def: 400)
Ra Yellow: 300 LP
He was facing off against a small, green-haired, nervous boy who had Mad Sword Beast on the field. (Atk: 1400 Def: 1200) The Ra yellow looked at his hand, shaking. "Alright, I'll play... uhhh..."
Jaden leaned forward to have a better look at the Ra Yellow's hand. He noticed a certain card the boy was holding. "Sweet! He's got Earthquake. This match is as good as over."
The Ra boy tried his best to decide what to do. 'Come on Brier, you've got him where you want him. Now win this thing and go home. Just forget everyone watching you. Now Should I use Earthquake to switch his Marauding Captain to defense mode? Or should I attack with Mad Sword Beast?'
Red Hat was watching him and raised an eye brow at his strugling. 'Just use Earthquake and attack him. Unless its a battle trap which will destroy his monster. Which I highly doubt since all these Obelisk dont even know Bottomless Trap Hole exist.' Red Hat thought.
"Get a move on!" The opponent said impatiently. "I'd like to get home sometime this school year!"
Brier shrank at the outburst.
There were three Obelisk at the sidelines who were goading him, just like his opponent.
"What's the mater short-stack? Can't see over the cards?"
"looks like the baby's gonna cry."
"Wanna call your mommy?"
Brier tried to focus despite their word. "Eenie, Meenie..."
"Miney, mo!" His opponent finished angrily. "Make a move, you're going way too slow!"
That was enough to make Red Hat rage. 'Ill destroy you three when this is over. Mark my words rules be damned.'
Brier cringed. "Okay." He then closed his eyes "I guess I'm gonna attack with my Mad Sword Beast!"
"What!?" Jaden was confused by the fact that he didn't use the card he thought he would use. The dinosaur monster charged at the opposing monster.
The Obelisk Blue smirked at this. "I activate my facedown card!" The trap card was revealed "It's called Reinforcements and it hands me 500 attacking points, and I think I'll give them to my Marauding Captain." The warrior was powered up as he charged forward. (Atk: 1700 Def: 400)
Brier: 300 - 0 LP
Red Hat deadpanned and face palmed at the play. 'Are you serious!? That trap was so outdated even when I was a kid. Yet you worthless Obelisk still play that. Yeah all of you Obelisk are worthless excuses of duelist. This time I'll humilate all of you further.'
"And he was so close." Jaden commented.
"A classic case of stage fright..."
Everyone turned to see Bastion standing next to them with his arms crossed.
"Hey Bastion." Syrus greeted him.
"The boy has tremendous skill, but he hasnt yet been able to handle the pressure of dueling in public like this."
Brier was down on his knees almost on verge of crying.
"I dont think it was possible, but on his knees, he's smaller than he was before!" The victorious Obelisk laughed with his fellow dorm mates.
"I think I need some glasses to see him!"
"Better yet, a magnifying glass!"
"Try a microscope!"
Brier had an angry look on his face that made Jaden feel a little uneasy. Winged Kuriboh appeared beside him. "Kuri."
'Yeah, Kuriboh. I felt that too.'
Red Hat however was on the verge of going berserk and decided to walk away from the group.
"Hey Red Hat mind telling us where you're going?" Bastion asked him as he was about to leave.
Red Hat turned around to see him. "I have some things to do okay Bastion no need to worry." with that Red Hat took off.
'Somehow I doubt that. You looked like you wanted to hurt someone with that death glare of yours back there.' Bastion observed.
Time 3pm
Red Hat kept on running until he reached the main entrance and decided to wait for a bit. While he was waiting he was finally greated by the very same Obelisk at the arena.
"Hey you Slifer Sludge quit blocking the door and move aside!" The Obelisk demanded. Red Hat though wouldnt budge.
"Make me you pathetic cowards." Red Hat taunted. Enraging the Obelisks.
"What did you call us you Slacker! A Slifer like you has no place among us. Do you even know who your deeling with?" One the Obelisk lackys said trying to intimidate Red Hat only to be left with laughter.
"What am I deeling with. A bunch of worthless maggots whos dueling skills are worse then 6 year olds." Red Hat spat holding back laughter and mockery.
The 4 Obelisk were now beyond mad. "Why you no good punk! You dare make a mockery out of the Elite! We should beet it out of you!" One of them sneered. Red Hat though just kept on laughing.
"Please you call yourselves Elites yet your dueling skills wouldnt impress a 5 year old. Entitlement is what I call it." Red Hat continued to mock them. "If you want to prove me wrong then duel me. Though you're gonna regret even trying to challenge me." Red Hat challenged not even looking worried.
"You're going down you Slifer Sludge! Ill make you eat your words!" The same Obelisk that dueled readied his duel disk.
"Dueling just one of you is boring. Once Im done with you, you other 3 are next." Red Hat declared.
"Ha! I'd like to see you try. Your gonna regret this Slifer Sludge!"

Hand 6 "I summon Marauding Captain in attack mode. (Atk: 1200 Def: 400) Thanks to effect I can summon another level 4 or lower monster. So I summon another Marauding Captain. Now set a facedown and end my turn. Your move you slifer slacker!"

"Thats all please. My turn I draw!"

"I play Graceful Charity! I draw 3 cards then I discard 2 (Discards Dark Magician of Chaos and Magician of Faith). Now I play Monster Reborn to bring back one of the monsters I discarded. So I bring back Dark Magician of Chaos (Atk: 2800 Def: 2600). His effect when hes summoned I get to add back a spell card and the only one is Graceful Charity. So I'll active it again, I draw 3 cards and discard 2 (Discards Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer and D.D Warrior Lady). Now I play Pot of Greed so I draw 2 cards!" Red Hat was now smirking.
"What are you smiling about you Slifer Scum? So long as I have both Marauding Captains on the field you can't attack as their effects loop." Obelisk said bewilldered at why Red Hat was smiling.
"Well this is why. First I play the equip card Snatch Steal! With this I'll steal one of your Marauding Captains!" A powerful force steals one of the Marauding Captains.
"Grr, why you! Just what are you planning with stealing one of my monsters?"
"I plan to humilate you and your scummy lackeys! I tribute your Marauding Captain to summon Jinzo! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1500) If you think Im done you're wrong! I banish Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer and Magician of Faith to special summon this Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning! (Atk: 3000 Def: 2500)
"What the? How does a Slifer Sludge like you have such cards!" The Obelisk asked. Utterly stunned at Red Hat plays.
"How about you be quiet! Black Luster Soldier attack his Marauding Captain!" Black Luster Soldier attacks the Obelisk's Marauding Captain with such force.
Obelisk Blue: 8000 - 6200 LP
"Dont even think you're gonna live through this onslaught. Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginings effect when he destroys a monster in battle he gets to attack twice! And I have two more monsters left to attack you! Black Luster Soldier Dark Magician of Chaos and Jinzo finish this pathetic fool now!" All three monsters attack the Obelisk Blue with such force causing an explostion knocking out the Obelisk.
Obelisk Blue: 6200 - 3200 - 400 - 0 LP
The remaining three Obelisk were completely stunned at what just happened.
"What just happened. Just who is this guy?" One of them asked.
"Dont know but how did he do this?" Another asked.
"It must have been dump luck no way a duel can end this soon." The last Obelisk said.
Red Hat was not amused. "Sure blame everything on luck and not your comicly terrible deck building desicions. This just proves you Obelisk Blues are beyond terrible. You arent Elites you're nothing but spoiled children. Dont think Im letting you go Im dueling the rest of you as well. Dont even try to weasel your way out."
The other three Obelisk complied, all of them now started to fear at their predicament.
Meanwhile Jaden, Syrus, and Chumley left the Academy building in their attempt to find the Duel Giant. Only to find Red Hat dueling various Obelisks many were knocked out.
"Red Hat at it again? Guess this is why he left in a hurry." Chumley stated.
"No joke, he left in such a rush. Guess he left to try and fight the Obelisks that dueled that boy earlier." Syrus commented
"Still, Red Hat challenging all those Obelisk Blues and winning every time. Man, Red Hat your awesome." Jaden said.
"Jaden your always get excited when Red Hat duels." Syrus said.
"Red Hat do you always duel Obelisk this aggressively? And for what reason?" Chumley asked confused by Red Hat's actions.
"To put them in their place. That they're all bark and no bite. These four all lost either in one turn or by lockdown which I will not go into." Red Hat explained, holding back his laughing at the Obelisk lying there completely knocked out. "Say got any plans for the rest of the day Jaden?"
"We still searching for the Duel Giant. Me, Syrus and Chumley are staying here at the main gate to keep an eye on things until he appears as he only appears at midnight. Say want to join us Red Hat?" Jaden said still excited to continue this search.
Red Hat just sighed. "Jaden this is clearly a trap, but if your still willing to go I wont stop you. Ill keep an eye on other places at night so I'll see you around." With that Red Hat leaves the trio and heads back to the dorm to take a nap until midnight where he would check up on things.
Midnight
Red Hat would wake up after a bit once Midnight arrives and now heads out to find Jaden and the gang. 'Lets hope its not to late I must find Jaden now.' Red Hat leaves his room and heads inside the forest in an attempt to find Jaden.
After some time Red Hat saw Jaden had just finished a duel againt the supposed Duel Giant and a small Ra Yellow nearby. Red Hat has now susspected that the Ra Yellow kid is what was causing havoc. "So, Jaden you found the Duel Giant and its not just him but also him. I wouldnt be surprised after what happened at the arena eailer today." Red Hat stated though this was directed at Brier more so then Jaden.
"What's it to you..." Brier stopped before he realized who it was. "Wait your that Slifer Red in the Red Hat. Ive been hearing rumors about you, how you been dueling and taking down Obelisk Blues left and right." Brier said to him surprised to see Red Hat. But he wanted to know more.
"The one and only. I saw what happened to you during that duel with the Obelisk. I hate the Obelisk Blues but for different reason then you. They're all talk and no bite. They act like they're the best duelist, yet when I dueled them they all lost on the first turn didnt matter if I started first or second. All those Obelisk got what they deserve." Red Hat explained his story to not only Brier but also Jaden, Syrus and Chumley.
"Wait you beat those four Obelisk at the Arena one by one in one turn! Just who are you!?" Brier asked completely shocked at what he just heard.
Red Hat just shrugged at that. "I'm just someone who wants to duel very strong duelists. Yet the only person so far to give me a good challenge was Jaden right here. Its not my problem so many can't keep up with me. I enjoy putting Obelisk in their place." Red Hat explained himself.
"So that's how it is. You also hate the Obelisk Blues but for completely different reasons." Brier said.
"So looks like Jaden is letting you guys go. Im not really surprised Jaden is not the type to turn in anyone." Red Hat explained to Brier. "Just remeber you arent alone when it comes to what the Obelisk spout. Unlike others though I thrive off of putting these Obelisk in their place and just leaving when Im done as I dont like attracting attention. Showing off was never my style."
Brier just smiled at that. "Well guess theres no reason to hide anymore. Maybe next time Ill duel out in the open."
"Now get out of here, before Dr. Crowler catches you." Jaden warned the two Ras.
"Thanks guys! We'll make good!" Brier called out while running away with Beauregard.
"Hey wait up!" His friend called out as he tried to catch up with him.
The group watched the two friends leave until Red Hat broke the silence. "Who know he was the Duel Giant despite the circumstances. Brier also is gonna return all the 'rare' cards. I dont even know why he even bothered with an ante as the cards the Obelisk have arent even impressive." Red Hat blatantly stated.
The group ignored his las remark until Syrus spoke up. "Um, I just realized something."
Jaden looked at him. Red Hat just raised an eyebrow.
"Because we let him go, we're gonna have to start doing homework again. Including all the stuff we missed out on looking for this guy."
Jaden moaned at this, while Red Hat just shrugged.
"The homework they give us isnt even hard. actually its laughably easy." Red Hat stated to them.
"We aren't geniuses like you Red Hat, and I hate homework!" Jaden complained.
"You know, you can just ask me to do your homework for you Jaden if you're having that much trouble. Well then, Ill see you tomarrow Jaden." Red Hat waves goodbye at Jaden and turns in for the night. 'Crowler's plan failed. Guess I shouldnt have been worried. His entire plan backfired on him spectacularly. Still I feel sorry for Jaden as what's gonna happen tomorrow.' Red Hat thought before going to sleep.
Friday
Time 9am
Next day in the morning, Jaden and Syrus had to catch up on the homework they missed, were assigned by extra homework, and that extra homework was big piles of papers. The two Slifers were filling them as fast as they could. Chumley was sitting behind them and watched. Red Hat was behind the wall near the door watching the trio. As for Crowlwer, he wasn't exactly satisfied by the news of the Duel Giant...
"So let me get this straight, you found the Duel Giant, beat him, and then he was able to escape!"
"Yup, that's what happened teach." Jaden replied as he sped through the papers he was given. "Last I saw, he was headed up a beanstalk or soething."
"And you're saying you didnt duel using the illegal ante rule, but all the Obelisks did?"
"Did they? I heard they all just kind of lost their cards... temporarily."
Crowler blinked in confusion at that statement while having a hard time to process of what Jaden told him. "So first you find the Duel Giant, then he escapes? First all those cards were lost, now they're found?"
"First I have no homework, and now..."
"KEEP WRITTING!"
Red Hat sighed as he kept watching. 'I feel sorry for you Jaden, that you have to go through with this. I would help, but I wont as if I do try to interfere; Crowler would punish you guys more and Im not gonna put you guys through more stress.' Red Hat deadpanned at the thought of Jaden getting more punishment then he already was, but there was an upside. 'The good news is, at least Crowler's plan failed spectacularly. So we wont have to deal with him for a while.' With that Red Hat began walking through the hallway to where ever he was going at the moment.
A/N: The final part of this chapter was rushed as I couldnt come up with ways to justify some scenarios and actions. But guess thats what happens when you try to clutter multiple episodes into one chapter but oh well. Before I get comments that say Im being to harsh when it comes to Red Hat's actions with the decks he playing and also mockery of the Obelisk Blues. My reason for this is cause, in the Anime the Obelisk Blues are such a joke its often showed to play very bad cards and decks. Which is why to keep up the joke, I constantly shpw how laughable the Obelisk Blues really are. This also applies to main characters *cough Chazz and Alexis* not just one off characters that are completely pointless. Remeber folks whats good in the anime doesnt mean its good irl. Im also limiting myself as to not make OTK hands as that will get old fast even though it is possible as Im using the anime rules where there is no ban list. Tangent aside I just wanted to get this over with before we start with more fun stuff, especially when I get to Blair (The Tag is not bait she will have more of a purpose lol xD) Well that is all until next time.
