Maiden in Love - Ultra Remix
A/N: This chapter may seem silly. Thats because it is. This chapter not only had to combine both the anime episode of Blair's appearance, but also combine one route of disguised Blair in Tag Force 3. Because im doing both and to prevent continuity errors, I had to take a lot of liberties on this as to not repeat various things from the anime or Tag Force as I want to remix things, not just slightly altering things.
Monday
Time 7pm
It has been a couple of weeks since Red Hat and Zane had their duel at the docks. True to Red Hat's word, he never mention the duel to anyone at all. Red Hat never really mentions the accomplishment at all either. He rather not attract attention to himself as he would rather perfer to be left alone. Despite this Red Hat at least knew he had some challenging opponents besides Jaden. In his mind, Bastion and Zane were also tough duelists, so Red Hat was waiting for his duel with Bastion alone and see how good he will do as he was held back by Alexis.
'Just like any other Tag Duel its tough to build decks around each others decks, as many never seem to change their style or dont care about synergy, but oh well. You arent really expected for both partners decks to synergize so Im kinda being a bit harsh.' Red Hat thought to himself.
While Red Hat was having his thoughts. He decided to head for dinner; as he left his room, all the while not having a care in the world as he was still his same old self. What he wasnt aware though soon his life style may change. As Red Hat began eating dinner with Jaden, until Professor Banner appeaered and called out to get their attention.
"If I could have everyones's attention!" announced Banner. "Eyes forward, students! Chumely stop chewing with your mouth open!" Everyone stopped their eating and looked forward. "Good! Now, please join me in welcoming a new transfer student! Blair Flannigan!" He stepped aside aside to let him show up.
Red Hat raised an eyebrow at this, but thought nothing of it. 'He is shorter then Syrus. Doesnt he look a bit young? Then again as they say looks can be quite deciving.' Red Hat thought. 'That cap he's wearing is quite oversized, though its none of my buiesness.' he pointed out. Blair kept his head down hiding his expression.
"I had to stop chewing for a transfer student?" Chumley complained. Of course, he could go back to eating, but he didnt want to get in trouble with Professor Banner, so he stayed put.
"Awe man. He's even smaller then me, dess goffier than me... my sidekick gig is up," Syrus sighed, which Red Hat was just annoyed by. 'What do you even mean by that? Not like you have any importance in the slightest.' Red Hat thought in distain.
Jaden just smiled. "Be nice." He then stod up from his bench seat. Blair! Welcome to S-L-I-F... Somthing, Slifer!" He half-yelled, raising his arm to the ceiling.
Blair looked at him like he was crazy. Still that didnt stop Jaden from approaching Blair and pulled him, next to him. Red Hat was ammused by this. 'Thats a welcoming if I ever saw one Jaden.' Red Hat chuckled at the scene.
"We're the best dorm on campus! See, here we're not a bunch of stuffy, eggheeaded, straight A getting brainiacs." This caused Red Hat to start chuckling but kept quiet. 'You have a way with words Jaden. Would be even funnier if it wasnt so true and so sad. I especially mean it to Syrus.'
"Jaden wait. You don't understand." Banner told him.
"What's not to understand, Professor Banner? I'm just trying to help Blair feel at home." Blair released himself from Jaden and stood timidly behind Banner.
"Besides, this isnt Blair's home. At least not for long. He scored nearly perfect on all his entrance exams." Banner added.
"Oooh..."
"You see, it is academy policy that all transfer students start out at Slifer, but with his high marks, he'll be moved up to Ra Yellow in a few days." Banner explained.
Jaden laughed at this. "Yeah right, and next you'll be saying that he's gonna be moving into our room cuz of all the extra space." he turned to his friends with a wide smile on his face. "I just love this guy!"
Syurs and Chumley stood up. "Good one."
Red Hat was still sitting and question their predicament. 'This is strange, not only that Jaden's room doesnt have enough space. It pains me to say this but I will have to give an invite.' Red Hat thought.
Red Hat stood up and and began to speak up. "Say Professor Banner, since my room is practically empty. Blair can come to my room." Jaden, Syrus and Chumley wer shocked that Red Hat sudjested such an idea. This though only made Banner smile.
"I agree." Banner said. "Its nice of you to offer him a place to stay Red Hat. Since your room has th most space, Blair will move in with you."
Red Hat shrugged. "Fine by me. I dont mind one bit." he said. 'I just hope he doesnt cause me trouble.'
"Blair why dont you say hello to your new room mate."
"Hello." Blair said in a low voice.
Once dinner was already served, everyone retreated to their dorm rooms for some rest time before they would sleep. Red Hat escorted Blair to his temporary room, and Blair had to admit, he did have a lot of space inside. Despite the how the room was, was perfect to crash in.
"Wow... I didn't expect your room would be so... big." admitted Blair quietly. He placed his bag on the ground before deciding to wander around the room curiously.
"I dont keep much stuff anyway. Dont really do much anyway." Red Hat said to him.
Blair looked at him curiously. "Hey, where do you sleep? Up or Down?"
"I sleep at the botton bunk. Why? You want to sleep at the bottom bunk? If so I dont mind."
Blair shook his head. "No, it's fine. I prefer the top anyways." he said trying to be friendly.
Rd Hat shrugged. "Ok then suit your self. Im heading for bed." Red Hat said as he got into his bunk not even bothering to change or remove his hat.
Blair looked at him curiously. "Do you always sleep like that?" he asked Red Hat.
"Not always, though I always sleep with my hat on." Red Hat said not even bothering to open his eyes, despite his hat hiding them. "Dont ask why though okay."
Blair back off a bit. "Okay I wont ask. Im going to use the bathroom to wash up okay. Dont come in okay!"
"Dont worry I wont. I want to sleep." Red Hat responded before going back to sleep not even getting up.
Tuesday
Time 8am
The next day, all students from all three dorms are in the main greetig hall for a special announcement. People were talkig amongst themselevs, until Chancellor Sheppard appeared on the big monitor. "Settle down people! Attention Please! Chumley, stop chewing with your mouth open!"
Red Hat who was standing next to Blair and Jaden, took a look towards Chumley. He noticed Chumley put away hid grilled cheese. 'Really Chumley? We ate breakfast a while ago. How much more do you eat?' he though in disbelief.
"Good." Sheppard spoke. "Now, the big match up against our rival school, North Academy is coming up. Last year, Zane, our student rep whooped them good, and this year, I want to win the School Duel again."
Red Hat and Syrus noticed Blair looking at Zane, but Syrus leaned over. "Hey Blair, did you know Zane is my brother?" he whispered.
"Really?" Blair turned to him, surprised.
"Yeah, he's pretty cool, but mom says I got the looks." Syrus said casually. Red Hat had to hold back from laughing. 'I think she just says that so you can feel better. No one sane will consider you to have better looks then Zane.'
"Now we still haven't decided on who is going to represent us this year. So if you keep hitting those books and dueling hard, you may be the one who gets the honor." At those words, the monitor went blank with DA insignia planted on it.
Red Hat shook his head. 'Basicly representing the school. No thanks this school isnt worth representing. Showing off isnt my style in the slightest, and all classes are a cpmplete joke so I dont even study at all.' Red Hat thought.
"Alright!" Jaden exclaimed. "Did you hear what he said? It could be me in this match!"
"Hey, or me." Syrus huffed. "But we might as well face it, Jay. It'll brobably be Zane who gets the spot again."
"How come?" Jaden asked as he turned towards Zane.
"Because he's amazing." Blair said and stared at Zane with... a lot of interest, confusing Jaden.
Red Hat raised an eyebrow. 'You are starring at Zane by a lot. You must be a huge fan I guess, but why say it like that.'
"Amazing? What's that got to do with it?" Jaden complained as he and his friends just left the academy building. "It should be about who's the best!"
"Zane did beat you in a duel, Jaden." Syrus reminded him.
"Yeah, but it was a totally close match." Chumley added.
"Say, Red Hat did beat Zane so maybe will also get a chance to be in the spot light." Jaden pointed out.
"That's true." Syrus replied.
Red Hat just shrugged but didnt respond. 'I really couldnt care less about the school duel. I'm the type that hates being in the spot light.' Then Red Hat noticed Blair running across the pathway, leading away from th main building. 'Where is he going?' Red Hat had a look of suspicion on his face. "Guys something just came up head back to the dorms without me." He told them before taking off and running after Blair.
The rest just stared at him in confusion. "Red Hat should I come with you?" Jaden asked as Red Hat too of to the distance.
"No need Jaden, I got this." Red Hat call out as he took off.
Red Hat followed Blair all the way to the Obelisk Blue boy's dorm. When he arrived, he hid behind a column and watched Blair climbing up on a tree and walked across a branch towards one of the dorm rooms on the second floor.
'What is he up to? Why come here of all places.' He climbed the tree as fast as he could and entered the room. He stood there in sienc as Blair made his way across the room. He then took a deck case from the stand next to the bed and opened it up. He took out some of the cards, with Cyber Dragon being the top card.
'What is he doing?' Red Hat asked himself. He was somewhat weirded out when he saw Blair rub his cheek against the deck case while blushing.
'Okay Im not gonna stand this.' Red Hat got into the room where Blair was, holding Zane's deck. "Hey I dont know what you're up to, but you've got to get out of here. If we are caught we'll be in trouble, and thats the last thing I want."
"Huh? Where did you come from?" Blair asked.
"Same place you did, but enough about that we need to leave now." Red Hat took the deck case out of Blair's hands and placed it back where it was. Then Red Hat pulled on his hand so they can leave. Soon both heard three Obelisk coming close with Zane.
"Come on, guys. What do you say we chill upstairs?" an Obelisk asked. Red Hat saw Zane making his way towrds the dorm, with three other Obelisk boys following him.
"Wait a bit." Once they were out of sight thats where Red Hat made his move. "Alright move." Blair got on the tree and jump down while Red Hat closed the curtains and windows, so nothing suspecious happened. Then he jumped down and followed Blair shortly afterwards and caught up. Both decided to not head back to the dorm but too the long away around the island as to avoid suspecion from other students and staff memebers.
Time 6:30pm
Later that evening, Red Hat and Blair were standing at the bottom of the seaside cliff right beneath the Slifer Dorm. Red Hat wanted to talk to him about what had just happened as he had a lot of quesstions.
"Why barge in to Zane's room? If you wanted to meet him there's other ways to go about it you know." Red Hat asked him.
"I have no reason to tell you okay. That's my secret." Blair retorted.
Red Hat held back a chuckle. "Sheesh defensive are you. Still why go through all that trouble."
"Look I just want to meet him okay." Blair spoke. Red Hat though felt like he was hiding something but didn't prey any further.
"Sad to say you wont find him in his room. Zane rarely stays in his room. High chances you'll be found out by others instead of Zane so I dont advise you go there again. Though Im surprised you even figured out what room was Zane's. Impressive if I do say so myself." Red Hat explained.
Blair lightly blushed at that. It was true he didnt actually know that would be Zane's room. He rather just guessed that it was. "Look just dont tell anyone alright."
Red Hat chuckled at that. "Dont worry about it. Not everyday you a hang out with someone who is a fan of Zane." he continued. "Well then lets head back to the dorm its almost Dinner time."
"Oh sure thing I could use some dinner." Blair answered.
Soon both of them head back to the dorm for some dinner. To their surprise it was fried shrimp day so everyone especially Jaden was enjoying todays dinner. Red Hat had to chuckle at Jaden's actions. Blair just stared at him in confusion.
"He eats that much? I know this is good, but isnt that a bit much?" Blair asks Red Hat.
"Jaden loves food that much he's willing to eat a lot especially if its good." Red Hat replied.
Blair then had a thought. 'Maybe if I learn how to cook I can get closer to Zane.' he thought.
"Anyway lets head back to our room and sleep." Red Hat suggested as he finished his fried shrimp.
"Huh? Already you want to sleep? Isnt it a bit early for that?" Blair asked.
"Not really I like to sleep a lot unless you got something better to do. Most of the time I spend a lot of time deck building." Red Hat replied.
"Okay then but Im gonna take a shower before sleeping and dont you dare take a peek!" Blair scowled.
"Stop reminding me, I get it. I just want to sleep." Red Hat retorted as he left the cafeteria and went to bed completely ignoring the protest from Blair. Though what Blair didn't realize was Red Hat would take a shower far late into the night while still wearing is uniform and red hat. 'Cant even take a shower until he's fully alseep. Oh well, I'll have to put up with this for while until he's gone in a few days and moves up in rank.' Red Hat thought , as he went to bed.
Wednesday
Time 7am
Red Hat was still currently sleeping in his bed not having a care in the world while still wearing his hat like usual. Blair was ready dressed and ready to head out but some thing was troubling him as he rushed to wake up Red Hat.
"Hey! Hey, come on! Hello!" Blair yelled at Red Hat even shaking him to wake up. 'Is he a heavy sleeper?' he question before continued to try and wake him up. "Wake up! Aw, come on! Get up already! Pleeease..." Blair had to retract what he said. "I mean, Get up Man! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!" This was enough for Red Hat to get up only he was angry.
"Alright already stop yelling! Sheesh, cant I sleep in peace." Red Hat complained begrudgingly getting up.
"Ah finally you're up." Blair said casually ignoring all the yelling he did to Red Hat just now. This got him annoyed.
"What could you possibly want to get me up this early?" Red Hat asked still groggy at waking up this early despite he was able to wake up early before for specific reasons. 'I know I waken up early before but that was for very specific reasons I usually never wake up this early for nothing unless Jaden wakes me up or he needs something.'
"What kind of attitude is that? How much more sleep do you need anyway?" Blair asked though not wanting an answer just yet. "Nevermind, listen man, there was this cat, and it stole my barrete." Red Hat raised an eye brow at that.
'A barrete? You have long hair? I know guys with long hair are rare but do you have to hide that?' Red Hat thought not getting what was so important about it. 'Also Pharaoh the Cat really? I know that cat does things but this is ridiculous.'
Blair retracted his previous saying. "Uh, I-I mean, it stole something important! I'm going after it, and I need your help!" Blair requested Red Hat. Though to him it sounded more like pleading.
"Huh? You want me to go after the cat?. Dude I dont even know where the cat goes anyway. Also why drag me into this, why not go after it yourself." Red Hat tried to rationalize it but to not avail.
"Less complaining, more searching and chasing. The faster we can get this over with the better." Blair stated dragging Red Hat out of his room. 'Didnt even have breakfast not that it matters since I just buy sandwiches anyway as I cant stand Slifer Red's breakfast meals half the time. But better then nothing I suppose.'
Both Blair and Red Hat took off to where Blair thinks Pharaoh the Cat has gone to. Only is wild cat chase eventually lead them to a place neither were expecting.
Time 8am
They went in to the abandoned dorm where Blair thought Pharaoh the Cat went to. Red Hat went in with distain in even considering coming here as the interior was a broken down mess. Dust everywhere, broken windows, furniture ruined, and the floor boards were either broken or sometimes they creek when they step on some. The place was so empty the slightest of sounds can be heard from the interior.
"Wh-what is this place?" Blair asked Red Hat. Red Hat fought the urge to scoff at that quesion. 'You're the one that dragged me into this place and you're asking me now?' he thought, though clearly annoyed. He then went ahead further into the dorm.
"H-Hey dont leave me behind!" Blair protest as he tried to keep up with Red Hat. "Maybe we should turn back." Blair suggested. Red Hat though wasnt having any of that. 'You made me come here so we gonna continue whether you like it or not.'
"I'll just forget about my barrete... *cough* I mean that thing of mine. So we should hurry up and..." Blair didnt finish her what he had to say as he felt something on his back. "Ah! What the...! EEEEEEEEEK!" This caused Blair to jump and with slight wind coming from one of the cracked windows her hat was blown away next to her. "Ew, ew, ew, ew, ew! Something just touched my back!"
Red Hat turn around to notice what all the commotion Blair was causing, only to look uterly stunned at what he saw. 'Huh what the. Blair is a...' Red Hat didnt finish his thought as Blair looked at his stunned expression only to gasp. Blair put his hands on his head to only to feel he was not wearing his hat. His Identity has been exposed.
Blair blushed as she was being stared at by Red Hat, while he had yet to make a response. "Ah! Um... he, he, he Heh! Um... I can explain everything... It's just that Im actually..." Blair didnt want to tell him but this time Red Hat spoke up.
"So you are actually a girl?" Red Hat asked Blair even though he already knew the answer but he just wanted to make sure.
Blair had no choice but tell him as she knew Red Hat was not gonna let this go. "Since you saw me, I'll be honest..." Blair blushed while trying to explain herself. "The truth is... Im actually a girl. Um, it's a long story, but Im pretending to be a boy." Blair confessed but continued. "So anyway, Please dont ask me why! And plese dont tell anyone! I cant afford to be thrown out of the academy right now! Please, please, please! Im begging you!" Blair was now pleading at Red Hat as she put her hat back on only this time with a bandana.
Red Hat was stunned at what she was begging to him. Never had someone in his life let alone a girl would dare beg him to do anything let alone keep a secret. 'Blair you are going through all this trouble. But why?' This was a question Red Hat had no answer to.
Blair was not happy with his silence. "I'm not gonna leave you alone until you say "Yes"!" this now gave Red Hat's attention.
Red Hat crouched to one knee with a soften look. Although he couldn't understand why though as he never acts this way. 'Why am I doing this? I could just turn her in and be done with this nonsense. But something in me is telling me; not to do this. Plus I dont want to be annoyed.' he thoought. "Dont worry Blair, I'll protect your secret no matter what. Even if it means causeing myself trouble." Red Hat rubbed his cheeck with his finger. "Even though trouble is nothing new to me as I tend to cause it."
"You mean it! Thank you so much Red Hat!" Blair exclaimed ignoring Red Hat's last statment. Red Hat sweatdropped at that. "I'm so glad you're my partner!" This only cause to sigh.
'So we are partnrs now? Just what did I get myself into?' Red Hat thought. "Anyway lets get out of here now. The longer we stay here, we'll be in huge trouble. I dont even want to think about what kind of punishment we will get, if we do get caught."
"Okay then lets leave this creepy place." Red Hat took Blairs arm and both took off to leave the Abandond Dorm.
Time 10am
Red Hat and Blair left the abandonded dorm and went to the cliff side near the Slifer Dorm. Despite being day time. There was nobody around as the everyone else was in class. To Red Hat this was no big deal, but not so much to Blair as she hated skipping classes. For a long while Red Hat decided to break the silence.
"Why go through all this trouble? Even though I'll keep everything a secret I still want to know why go through all this trouble? Why not just apply normally?" Red Hat though had other thoughts though. 'I heard female students are automatically placed in Obelisk Blue. If so that means there is no standard or merit in that dorm. How pathetic. Though why couldnt Blair just attend normally that way avoid all this trouble.'
"Ugh, cant a girl keep her secrets. I told you not to ask and no one needs to know!" Blair snapped.
Red Hat was a bit annoyed by that but calmed down. "Well then lets settle this in a duel." Red Hat pulls out a duel disk and gives one of them to Blair.
"A duel? How will that solve anything?" she asked
Red Hat chuckled at that. "As a certain friend of mine tells me, in a duel, the truth always comes out."
"Fine, but if I win, you keep quiet without me having to explain myself."
As Red Hat readied his Duel Disk. He had another reason to do this duel. "I have another reason for this duel. I heard you passed your entrance exams and your duel. So I want to see how good is your dueling."
"Oh that, okay then I'll show you how good I am!" Blair readies her duel disk.
Duel
Blair: 8000 LP
Red Hat: 8000 LP
"Ladies first." Red Hat declared.
"Alright! My turn I draw." Blair draws.
Hand 6
"Get ready... to fall in love. I summon Maiden in Love in attack mode! (Atk: 400 Def: 300) With that I end my turn." A young, beautiful girl wearing a flowing yellow dress appeared. She had wavy long brown hair.
Hand 5
Red Hat raised an eye brow at the play. 'A weak monster on the field and no backrow. Just what is her game plan?' Red Hat questoned as despite what he heard he really wasnt seeing it.
"Its go time. My turn, I draw!"
Hand 6
Red Hat took a look at his hand he had a very faint smile that Blair didnt catch. 'Otk hand with 3 cards but I'll humor her and make basic plays so she can do something.' Red Hat thought as he decides for the first time in his life. To hold back in a duel.
"I summon Breaker the Magical Warrior in attack mode. (Atk: 1600 Def: 1000) Now his effect when he's normal summoned he gets a spell counter that also boost his attack points by 300 attack points. (Atk: 1600 - 1900) Now Breaker attack her Maiden." Breaker charges in and slashes the Maiden, who gasped both in surprise and pain. Red Hat knew he's not supposed to attack her but he didnt care.
Blair: 8000 - 6500 LP
"You may have broken her heart, but she lives to love another day!" She said. "You see, as long as she stays in attack mode, her special ability keeps her from being destroyed." Blair explained
Red Hat just raaised an eye brow at that. 'This is your strategy. If you passed your duel with this strat. Then the standards are much lower then I thought.' Red Hat thought bitterly but kept his composure. "If I had to guess she has another effect?" Red Hat answered his own question. 'I'm well aware of her effect. I just want to hummor her.'
Blair hummed playfully. "Yes she does actually. See, Maiden in Love has another effect too. Any monster that attacks her gets a Maiden Counter." She explained as the Maiden sent away a small love heart that popped right in front of Breaker the Magical Warriors face.
"Well thats unfortuninate. I set a facedown and end my turn." Red Hat said the first part sarcastically but Blair didnt catch it as he ended his turn.
Hand 4
"Alright moving on. My turn, I draw!"
Hand 6
"Now I activate the equip spell Cupid's Kiss and equip it to my Maiden. And now I'll have her attack your Breaker the Magical Warrior!" The Maiden ran slowly to the other side of the field. As she got close Breaker stepped aside causing the girl to fall to the ground.
Blair: 6500 - 5000 LP
"Sorry Red Hat, but when Maiden takes damage from a monster that's been pegged with a Maiden Counter, the equip spell Cupid's Kiss automatically activates. And that lets me take control of your monster. Sure, it costs me some points, but soon it will cost you a lot more." Blair explained as Breaker the Magical Warrior heads to her side.
Red Hat was not impressed by this. 'You take a lot a damage just so you can control my monster. This is the most counter intuitive strat I ever seen.' Red Hat tought to himself in distain.
"Now Breaker attack him directly." Breaker charges at Red Hat under the command of Maiden in Love and slashes Red Hat directly.
Red Hat: 8000 - 6100 LP
"Well, now that I've taken control of your only monster, I think I'll just set a couple of facedowns and end my turn." Blair concluded.
Hand 3
"That all okay. My turn, I draw!"
Hand 5
"Before you start I activate the continuous Trap card, Solemn Wishes. Thanks to this card every time I draw cards I gain 500 life points. That way I can recover some life points when attacking or getting attack." Blair explained as she revealed her facedown.
'That card is so pointless. Its a do nothing card and life point gain is not relevant in the slightest. Spell Absorption is better and its also bad.' Red Hat thought as he continued his turn. "I set a monster facedown and end my turn."
Hand 4
"That's all? Boring! My turn I draw!"
Hand 4
"And thanks to Solemn Wishes I get 500 more LP."
Blair: 5000 - 5500 LP
"Okay then I'll summon White Magician Pikeru in attack mode. (Atk: 1200 Def: 0) Now Breaker the Magical Warrior attack his facedown monster!" Breaker charges in to slash the facedown monster and it was revealed to be Tsukuyomi. (Atk: 1100 Def: 1400)
"Tsukuyomi effect since she was flipped face up she automatically puts one monster to facedown defense position. I'll choose your Maiden which also means your equip is destroyed!" The spirit of Tsukuyomi appeared on the field and casted a spell and caused a roar which force Maiden in Love to facedown defense position.
"Ah! Oh no. My equip is destroyed! Well, I still have Pikeru to attack with. Go Pikeru attack him directly." Raising up her staff, White Magician Pikeru used her magic and fired a beam from the tip of her staff to blast Red Hat... or so she thought.
"Go trap card. Magic Cylinder, your attack is reflected and you take damage." Before the beam could connect the blast was placed in one of the Cylinders that appeared and the other Cylinder the blast came out and hit Blair directly, thus her attack backfired.
Blair: 5500 - 4300 LP
"Hey no fair. I'll get you for this. I end my turn." Blair concluded. 'Lets hope he doesnt attack me next round.'
Hand 3
"My turn, I draw!"
Hand 5
"Enough of this I play the Spell Dark Hole. All monsters on the field are destroyed."
"Ah Oh no!" Blair gasped as a dark hole appeared on top of the field sucking in all monsters and destroying them. "You're playing differently now or are getting serious now." Blair wondered.
"I was purposely holding back for your amusement. I never deliberately make bad play unless I want my opponent to do play which is never advisable. I give you this much at least you had a game plan unlike many others who dont have any." Red Hat replied.
"Wait you were letting me take control of you monster and allowing me to do plays. I dont know about that but I feel insulted! You should never hold back when dueling. Give me your all or this wont be exciting!" Blair exclaimed. Not happy Red Hat was holding back on her.
Red Hat just sighed at that. "Maybe this will change your mind. I summon Cyber Stein in attack mode! (Atk: 700 Def: 500) I'll activate his effect. By paying 5000 of my LP I can summon a Fusion monster so come ut Gatling Dragon! (Atk: 2600 Def: 1200) Cyber Stean unleashed massive energy and called out the monster. What soon appeared was a Machine dragon with three gatling guns one of them seem to be its head and it moves with two wheels with metal spikes.
Red Hat: 6100 - 1100 LP
"Wh-what is that thing!?" Blair asked while aslo shocked at what she saw.
"This is the end. I play the quick play Limiter Removal! This doubles my machine monsters attack points! (Atk: 2600 - 5200) (Atk: 700 - 1400) Dont think Im done, I play the equip card Megamorph! I equip it to Gatling Dragon doubling his attack points again! (Atk: 5200 - 10400)"
"Wh-what in the... over kill much Red Hat." Blair was stunned at what she was seeing. 'Its no use my facedown is a dud.'
"You wanted to see me not hold back well here you go. Gatling Dragon finish her off Rapid Fire Laser Blast!" Gatling Dragon fires a barrage of lasers at Blair depleating her life points.
Blair: 4300 - 0 LP
Red Hat strolled towards Blair, offering a hand. "Are you okay? Hope I wasnt too rough on you."
"Yeah... I guess so. Dont worry about it." Blair didn't seem too happy about her own loss, but gratefully accepted Red Hat's hand stood up. She was also at least somewhat glad Red Hat didnt just hold back for her. "I guess I have to tell you my secrets, huh?"
"There's no need to. You dont have to tell me." Red Hat said, shaking his head. "I dont care much about the deal. I just wanted to see you duel. You dont have to tell me your secrets if you dont want to." Red Hat insisted.
Blair shook her head. "No, I actually want to. You desrve to know. After all, I did lose."
"If you say so." Red Hat nodded, and got right to the point. "So tell me, why go through all this trouble."
"Its just..." Blair stuttered a bit. "Well, there's only one reason why I came to this island, and it wasn't for dueling. It was for Zane."
"Just for Zane huh?" Red Hat had no idea what to think of this. "If so that's the most counter intuitive way to meet him by barging in to his room. Wouldn't it be better to just talk to him directly?"
"Well... It's not that sort of situation." Blair tried to explain while she was blushing. 'Can I really tell him? Can I trust him? Well here goes nothing' Blair sopke up. "It's just... Well, Im in love with Zane!"
"In Love? I see then." Red Hat looked her indifferently, but really he had no idea what to make of this. 'I dont know jack squat about love so I can't comment on it.'
"Yes! It's true!" Blair had a lovesick look on her face as she clasped her hands together. "We met at the nationals where Zane was declared the winner! He told me to get stronger, so I did! And I'm in love with him!"
Red Hat mentally deadpan at that explaination 'I see, she's one of those types. Those who take such simple things too literally and thinks of it as love.' Red Hat push those thoughts aside. "Well that's great I guess?" Red Hat was absolutely clueless on how to respond to such a situation. "If you want love advice you're talking to the wrong person. Actually I doubt anyone on this island has any good or useful advice."
"Oh, that's okay! I already know all I need to know about love anyways!" Blair said. This cause Red Hat to mentally deadpan.
'I see, so she is also like one of those fan girls. Though in her case it feels more genuine then just pure fan girling.' Red Hat thought. "I see, then. Well then mind explaining me how being diguised as a boy will help you get Zane's attention?" Red Hat asked her.
"It's not so much to get his attention, exactly." replied Blair. "Listen I really can't tell you my other reason okay."
"If you dont want to tell me, then thats fine. You told me enough already."
"Please dont tell anyone. I want to confess my love to Zane, but I need to plan things out. So please dont tell anyone Im a girl and help me keep my identity a secret."
Red Hat didn't know how to respond to that. On one hand he can just report her so he doesnt have to deal with her as he doesnt put up with this kind of thing. But there was something inside him, telling him he shouldn't turn her in at all. Instead Red Hat got down to her level while having a soft look. 'I don't know why I'm doing this or even agreeing to help her out. Maybe it's because the way she's acting reminds me of myself in some bizarre way? I really dont know.' he thought to himself before speaking to Blair. "Don't worry about it Blair. No matter what happens I'll keep your identity a secret and will help you achive your main goal."
Blair now gleamed in happiness to Red Hat's response. "Oh thank you! You wont regret it. You're my partner Red Hat, we are in this together!"
Red Hat to chuckle at that. "Well then since there's no point in going to the main building until tomorrow, lets head back to the dorm until it's dinner time."
Blair didn't like that suggestion. "No! I want to explore this place for a bit before we head back to the dorm. I know you just want to sleep." She continued. "Besides I want you to be close to me in case anything happens okay."
Red Hat refused to argue with her as doing so will get him no where. "When you put it like that guess I have to dont I." Red Hat sighed at his predicament. 'Never thought I woud protect someone's secret like this let alone help her despite all the trouble that it can cause me. even though I dont care about what troubles I get myself into. Life sure is strange sometimes isnt it?' He mentally asked himself only to never answer his own question, as he and Blair would begin to explore the island together while Red Hat keeping an eye on Blair every step of the way so things dont happen to her.
Time 6pm
After a while Red Hat and Blair would return to the Slifer Dorm as it was becoming rather late. They stay in Red Hat's room until its time for dinner. They begin to chat with each other after a sometime.
"Say Red Hat can I ask you something?" Blair asked
"What is it Blair?" Red Hat replied.
"With your dueling skills, you're much better then any Slifer Red. You could even become an Obelisk Blue." Blair pointed out.
Red Hat scofted at that. "I like being in Slifer Red. Its nice and quiet and I enjoy the simplicity. Obelisk Blue is over the top, fancy and I cant stand the people there. I hate the Obelisk Blues. I put them in their place."
Blair was stunned at what he said but she couldn't deny he had truths. "I guess you are right about many things. Most Obelisk blues are aweful. I guess I shouldn't be to hard on you if you teach them a lesson."
Red Hat know was laughing. "Im glad you see it my way. Though to be honest they hardly put up a fight so it gets boring really so often I just ignore them or dont bother unless Im forced to by other means." He explained.
Blair shook her head but had to giggle a bit. "Well at least you stay out of trouble. Say since you're willing to stay in Slifer Red, Im gonna stay in Slifer Red too. That way I can keep an eye on you."
Red Hat just shrugged at that statement but he knew what she ment. 'It so I can stay near you and watch over you as, you only trust me on such matters.' He tought to himself but had other thoughts. 'You are wrong about one thing. I tend to cause trouble for myself. Only difference I try to deal with them or I dont consider it a big deal. Now I have to watch over you, so I can't afford to raise attention on myself.' Both stood there for a long while neither of them spoke a word. Soon they headed back to the dorm to eat dinner before it was time to turn in.
A/N: This felt more like fluff, but had to do this to avoid continuity errors in this fic so I had to take liberties with not only the episode but also th Tag Force 3 Disguised Blair route as there was no duel even though there was supposed to be one. I plan to keep Blair around for a lot longer. She will eventually have to leave but not until much later, once said things I have planned for her are complete. I plan on doing the entirety of the disguised Blair route in this fic with some added fun. Then eventually she will come back (You all know why XD) I didmt do the conversation with Zane and Alexis part as I found it unnecessary and there wasnt anything to add. I'm well aware some jokes I'm using arent really meant to be funny but whatever. Well until next with more silly stuff with Red Hat and Blair.
