Protecting a Maiden's Honor
A/N: This capter is based on Raring to Go and the 2nd event in diguised Blair route in Tag Force 3. The event was modified from Tag Force as this is still season 1. The Raring to Go part is based on the exams on Tag Force 1 which has 3 of them. Im doing the second one before starting the Duel Off. Originally this was supposed to be 2 seperate chapters but as to not waste time with filler. Note various characters decks have been upgraded from the anime such as Blair. As her deck was modified to closely resemble Tag Force over her anime deck with various changes which are also based on partner deck editing while keeping the theme.
P.S: English is not main language so expect many grammer and spelling errors. I'll do try to fix them. Also using Notepad very basic writing tool.
Monday
Time: 9pm
It has been a couple of weeks since Red Hat has promised to not only keep an eye on Blair, but to keep her identity a secret from the entire school. This of course got Red Hat frustraited at some points as he was forced to go to class much to his distain. Red Hat always avoided classes, with the exception of Professor Banner's class. This time because he made this promise, he now had to deal with the bordom of all his classes while avoiding attracting attention to Dr. Crowlers class; the class he most despised next to another boring professor's class.
'Sigh, I have to deal with all of this nonsense just for the sake of keeping Blair's secret. It's so troublesome most of the time. Oh well, nothing I can do about it.' Red Hat thought to himself, sighing with such distain for his predicament. 'To add salt to the wound; I have to try and make Blair change her style of dueling as her style just holds back any potential in winning.'
Sometime time ago, Blair and Red were forced into a tag duel between two Obelisk Blues. The biggest problem Red Hat noticed was that Blair's method of dueling was way to slow and so obsolete. All that lead to was the both of them taking unnecessary damage which forced Red Hat to use her monsters as tribute fodder for his Monarch deck he was using that time. Blair did not take that to lightly and often scowl at Red Hat for doing so, which annoyed him to no end. He wasnt gonna put up with that just so her theme could work.
'Blair, your theme is waste and too slow. Even if it was a decent strategy, the opponent can just tribute the monsters or use them as fodder making all your effort go to waste. You need to play more aggressively if you want to win any sort of serious duel.' Red Hat thought. Red Hat got the luxury of looking at Blair's deck and to his shock it was an unplayable mess. A lot of cards were bricks or completely useless or situational. Many traps she has were outdated or do nothing cards. Red Hat tried to convince Blair to swap out her cards with better ones but to no avail, at least not yet.
Soon Blair came back in to his room after a shower for the night. After Blair's long blue hair was dried she once again put on her hat as to not cause suspicion. "That was a nice shower!" Blair said as she entered Red Hat's room. Red Hat insisted Blair can stay not disguised while they are in his room, but Blair declined that idea as she is trying to be cautious. She would keep her hat on at all times, until she goes to sleep. Though, just in case things happen she will sleep with her hat on.
"You're deck building again?" Blair asked Red Hat. Curious since she saw a lot a cards all over his bed.
"Right, I am. Granted I already have plenty of decks I builded on my own. So its mostly just swaping cards rather then actual deck building." He replied not even bothering to look at her.
"Huh? You have so many decks? Is that why the deck you used against the Obelisk Blues we dueled the other day was different?" Blair asked again.
"Right I keep a log of many decks, I tend to use in serious duels. I do have gimmick decks but those are to mess with people rather then dueling seriously." Red Hat explained.
"So many decks you have. That's amazing Red Hat." Blair said.
"Well then, lets cut to the chase. Blair you really need to rethink your strategy." Red Hat pointed out. This only caused Blair's mood to sour.
"Look Red Hat, I just dont want to change my theme okay." Blair snapped at him. This in turn only got Red Hat annoyed.
"Blair your style is very flawed and filled with weaknesses. Not only does it require your opponent to interact with you which is the complete opposite of optimal. Unless your opponents are complete dolts or Syrus, they arent gonna fall fo the same trick over and over. Not to mention, the method to control your opponents monsters is way to slow. Granted its permident unlike cards like Snatch Steal, but the pay off isnt worth it." Red Hat explained. "Look, Blair I take dueling very seriously, unlike many people in this Academy that pretend to have knowlage on any of this."
Blair sighed at this. "I just don't like changing it so soon."
Red Hat scowled at this attitude. "Blair thats not how this works. Eventually dueling is gonna get faster and stronger to the point you aren't even going to last a single turn with your strategy. You need to do more or chage your strategy, if things aren't working out. It never hurts to try something new."
Blair then had to think about what Red Hat just told her. When he dueled her, he could have finished her off in one turn. Granted he was holding back and had lucky draws, but that still meant she had no chance against him. What if she found duelist just as strong as Red Hat and Zane. She wants to impress Zane with her dueling skills. The way Red Hat has been talking, she felt like there was no way to get Zane's attention unless she improved. So she decided to ask Red Hat for help.
"Um.. Red Hat." Blair stuttered a bit. "Mind if you help me fix my deck please. That way I can improve and if a Tag Duel comes along I can help you rather then hold you back."
Red Hat thought this over. Normally he was strongly against helping other people fix their decks as it usually means, just giving them powerful cards without any sort of synergy. That or it was to try and take advantage of him. Red Hat learned this at a very young age and is why he hates helping people when it comes to deck building. Somehow though he doesn't feel that way with Blair. He couldn't understand why though. "I'll help you with deck building Blair. At least this time you'll have a back up if your main strategy fails or begins to fall apart."
Blair beamed at him only to let go and look away. "Thank you Red Hat."
Red Hat ignore that awkward feeling he just whitnessed and continued to explain. "Well first up remove do nothing cards like Solemn Wishes."
"Huh? Just what do you mean by 'Do Nothing Cards'?" Blair asked now getting confused.
"Do nothing cards is a term I call cards that when you activate them, they dont do anything immediately. Then if it does do something afterwards, its usually very underwhelming. In this case gaining Life Points which is never relevant unless it does something else which it doesn't. Another example of a 'do nothing card' is Card Trader. Does nothing when you activate it and when you activate it, you're just swaping out a card for nother which is more of a waste." Red Hat did his best to explain this in detail to Blair.
This explaination was starting to make Blair's head spin. "So much to take in Red Hat. All of that just to not consider using a card."
"Next to get rid of is Defense Maiden. The trap is borderline useless. Once your opponent figures out what you intend to do, they will counter it by other means." He continued "Such as tributing the monster you already placed a Maiden Counter, Flip them facedown to reset them or you know just not attack at all which wont ever trigger your maidens effect since it doesnt force your opponent to attack. So its always a dead card. Thus its completely useless and waste of deck space." Red Hat finished.
Blair just sighed at all of this. "Is my strategy that flawed I pretty much have to replace it? I dont want to completely do that."
Red Hat shook his head in distain. "At least have a coherent game plan Blair. Your stongest monster is D.D Warrior Lady and that isnt saying much."
"At least help me construct my deck that doesnt just replace my theme please." Blair pleaded to Red Hat.
This got Red Hat frustrated to no end but he calmed down as to not get her upset. 'This is gonna take a while. It tough doing something like this, but oh well. It's my funeral for agreeing to this.'
"Well Blair here are some traps I can recommend you to use. I highly suggest Mirror Force, Sakuretsu Armor, and Bottomless Trap Hole." Red Hat suggested. "If you want some starter Traps can also try Wabakou or Negate Attack. Remember I'm helping you decide on what to deck build. Im not forcing you to use them." With that Red Hat and Blair continue to come up with ideas for Blair's deck so she doesnt fall behind. Though it would take quite a while until they come up with something.
Tuesday
Time 7:30am
Red Hat was still currently sleeping in his room. Blair in the meanwhile had not only showered, but also also eaten breakfast and got ready for today. Blair was still annoyed that Red Hat just sleeps through all of this. 'Just how much does he even sleep? It's almost time for todays test.' She thought to herself before trying to wake him up. "Red Hat wake up!"
Red Hat begrudgenly woke up. "Alright already jeez." Still groggy, Red Hat got up from his bed.
Blair just shoot her head. "You're unbelieveable, how much more do you sleep? Is this all you do when you skip classes? How can you even sleep with your hat on? Do you even know what today is?" Blair asked Red Hat a lot of questions which annoyed him instantly.
"One question at a time jeez. Can't even wake up in peace." Red said before ready to leave his room with Blair. "Before you ask again. Yes, Im aware today is the written and field test today. The writen test is an abosolute joke. The field test is the most exciting part." He exlained to her in distain. "Though usually you are paired with the folks at the same dorm so often for me its a very one sided duel. Would be better if I fought Jaden Yuki but the exams won't allow it."
Blair just shook her head. "You really like to duel Jaden that badly huh. He must be that good if you like dueling him."
Red Hat chuckled at that. "I dueled him before. He's quite the duelist. Thats all I will say about him." Red Hat didn't want to mention that, while he can beat Jaden. Jaden can potentially beat him, although Jaden prefers being flashy. So very often he doesnt always make the most optimal plays. "Before we head to class I want a sandwich." He said as he took off.
"H..Hey, You think we have enough time so you can eat a sandwich." Blair called out as she tried to keep up with Red Hat. Soon both head to the main Academy building but first heading for the card shop so Red Hat could eat.
Time 8am
Red Hat made it to the card shop which also where the cart filled with sandwiches were. Blair tried her best to keep up with him. She was already out of breath by the time she caught up.
"All you do is sleep and duel. How is it you run that fast?" Blair asked Red Hat. Red Hat ignored her question as was about to get a sandwich.
"Hello Dorthy, mind if I get a couple of sandwiches?" Red Hat asked.
"Sure thing, that would be 100 duel points please." Red Hat gets out his PDA and pays for the two sandwiches.
Red Hat then takes a couple of sandwiches. He tore open one of them and took a bite... "Huh? Oh wow this taste amazing." Red Hat took a look into the sandwich and to his surprise it was an egg sandwich, but not just any egg sandwich.
"Congratulations there. You got the Golden Eggwich. The best sandwich this school has to offer. There is only one Golden Eggwich per day so the fact you got lucky enough to draw one of them is amazing. Now enjoy your meal."
"Thank you Miss Dorthy, I will. Wow today must be my lucky day." Red Hat said as he was eating his sandwich.
Blair meanwhile got close to him after catching her breath. "Does that sandwich really taste good?" She asked.
"You want a bite? Well then here then its only fair." Red Hat turn his sandwich around and offered Blair a taste.
Blair stared at the half eaten sandwich fo a bit before responding. "I'll take your word for it." She then took a bite to the sandwich. She gasp at how good it was. "Yum... this is so delicious." Blair explained savoring the bite she had.
Red Hat chuckled at her reaction. "I knew you'd like this sandwich. Its that amazing." Red Hat commented before he took a look at the nearby clock. "Guess we should get going. The exam just started."
"Then lets going we'll be lucky to even finish." Blair stated as they both took off to head to their class for the written exam.
Time 8:15am
Red Hat and Blair made it to their classroom where everyone was taking their written exam. Well almost everyone, Red Hat noticed Jaden and Syrus fell asleep. 'Jaden falling asleep in class. I shouldnt be surprised as their is legit no point to these classes or exams. For the most part.'
"Ah look who decided to show up." Professor Banner pointed out. "Why dont you two come down here and pick up your exams."
"Sure thing Professor Banner." Red Hat replies as both him and Blair pick up their exams and then started. Alexis scowled at this.
'You come in late on purpose to take the exam. You have that big of an ego to purposely come in late to finish your exam quickly. You're even dragging him down to your level.' Alexis thought bitterly.
'Sometimes I wonder why you do with yourself Red Hat. I know you are well apllied, but this is just rubbing it in for the others. You lack manners Red Hat.' Bastion thought paying no mind to Red Hat or Blair as he continued with his exam.
While Blair was struggling a bit with her exam, but otherwise was doing fairly well. She noticed Red Hat was quickly writting down his answers as quickly as possible. She didnt know if he was doing this honestly or was just rushing this so he could leave the class room.
Red Hat was glosing over the exam and held back laughing at the entire writen exam. 'These questions are so laughably pathetic. Just what are these exams for. Certainly not for duelists like me. They barely teach the bare bones basics let alone anything relevant.' He thought as he quickly was writing down all the answers. 'These nit wit teachers and staff dont deserve the time. This exam is so lazily made.'
Red Hat was long finsihed with his exam before the timer even went off. While Blair barely finished her exam. She stared at Red Hat for some time. The fact Red Hat finished his writen exam that quickly truly baffled her. 'Is he that smart? Or was he rushing his entire exam.' Blair thought. She would have to ask Red Hat later.
"Alright class, time is up. Now you have time left before we head to the courtyard for your field. Take this chance to prepare your decks before your match. Good luck to everyone." Banner stated as everyone else left the classroom.
Meanwhile Bastion and Alexis were trying to wake up Jaden and Syrus. Red Hat and Blair decided to take their leave. This didnt go unnoticed by Alexis. 'Just what's his deal. He usually never leaves without Jaden. Whats so special about that guy Red Hat always hangs out with. Sometimes I'll never understand you Red Hat.' Alexis thought to herself.
Red Hat and Blair were walking straight to the courtyard for their field test that was coming up. Blair decided to speak up. "Red Hat, did you rush the exam? Because it looked like you were rushing it. I barely had time to anwser all of them."
Red Hat just shrugged. "The exam was very easy. Pitful really, makes me question the standards this Academy has." He replied.
"Huh? All of that in the witen exam was too easy for you? The rest looked like they barely finsished. Even I couldn't finish." Blair pointed out. Red Hat had no rsponse to that.
'Im not the type to brag and acknowlage my accomplishments. People still dont know I beat Zane and I rather keep it that way. I hate attracting attention. Im'm also not the type to put up with problems many tend to have.' Red Hat thougt. Soon both arrived at the courtyard where there were many duels going on.
"So many duels going on. Well then good luck Blair." Red Hat said.
"You too Red Hat. Don't end the duel too quickly okay." Blair told him.
Red Hat just shrugged at that. "Im more worried about your duel. You dont have to worry about me okay." Red Hat replied. 'I'm more concern about your dueling style as you were so stubborn last night.'
"If you say so." both now took off to their respected fields.
When Red Hat got to his field, he noticed he wasn't dueling a Slifer Red but rather an Obelisk Blue. Red Hat raised an eye brow at this. "Explain why I'm dueling an Obelisk Blue and not a Slifer Red. Some loop hole you guys pull?"
The Obelisk scoffed at that. "Haven't you heard the recent change. The duel at the field test is no longer based on dorm, but rather how high one scores on the written test." The Obelisk explained. "How does a Slifer Slacker that never comes to class, get high scores on the written test it doesnt make sense."
Red Hat scowled at that. "Cry me a river. Lets just get this over." Red Hat states as he ready his duel disk. 'Something tells me this is a set up. Cause who ever set this up is asking for trouble.'
"Fine by me you Slifer Scum. You're going down."

"I'll go first you Slifer Slacker." The Obelisk declares.
"May as well. Get this over with already." Red Hat said.
"Well then, My turn I draw!"

"First up I play the spell card Final Countdown! Now by paying 2000 LP, after 20 turns have passed starting from when I activated it I automatically win!"
Obelisk: 8000 - 6000 LP
"Now I play Solar Flare Dragon in attack mode. (Atk: 1500 Def: 1000) I'll end my turn with a facedown. Solar Flare Dragons effect you take 500 burn damage during my end phase! Take that Slifer Slacker!"
Red Hat: 8000 - 7500 LP

"Dont waste my time. My turn I draw!" Red Hat draws

"Just stalling for Final Countdown isnt enough. Although impresive. I play the spell Brain Control. By paying 800 LP I take control of you monster for this turn." Red Hat said. As a brain appeared with hands stretching and takes control of Solar Flare Dragon.
Red Hat: 7500 - 6700 LP
"Just whats that supposed to acomplish?" Obelisk asks. 'As soon as he attacks I'll activate my trap.' He thought to himself before Red Hat made his move.
"How about you be quiet. I tribute your Solar Flare Dragon to summon Jinzo! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1500) Now that hes on the field all traps are negated." Red Hat pointed out. "Jinzo attack the Obelisk. Cyber energy shock!" Jinzo fires a blast of energy at the Obelisk.
Obelisk Blue: 6000 - 3600 LP
"With that I'll end my turn." Red Hat ended his turn. 'Need to conserve resources. Final Countdown decks are all about stalling.'

"I'll set a monster, then I'll play the continuous spell The Dark Door. With this both of us can only attack with one monster per turn. With that I end my turn."

'I'll save this for later.' Red Hat thought before starting his turn. "I'll set a monster. Jinzo attack his facedown monster!" Jinzo attacks the facedown monster revealing to be Nimble Momonga. (Atk: 1000 Def: 100)
"Thanks for that. By destroying Nimble Momonga in battle I get to special summon two more of them in facedown defense position. Not only that I gain 1000 LP when it was destroyed." Obelisk Blue states as he summons his facedown monsters.
Obelisk Blue: 3600 - 4600 LP
"Am I supposed to care? Not really. I end my turn here." Red Hat ends his turn.

"I play the continuous spell Messenger of Peace with this card now all monsters with 1500 more attack can not declare an attack so their goes your offense. I end my turn here."

"I pass turn." Red Hat states not even bothering to make a move. 'This is all he's doing. Stalling has a lot of downsides.'

"I tribute my facedown monster to summon Granmarg the Earth Monarch! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1000) Granmarg efect since he was tribute summoned I get to destroy a facedown card, so I chose your facedown monster you just set. Destory it Granmarg!" Granmarg launches a sharp boulder directly to the facedown monster on the right.
"Gah! No way!" The Obelisk gasped. 'I still have 2 monsters to protect myself.'
"I play Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your Messenger of Peace! Now Granmarg attack his facedown monster!" Granmarg smashes one of the facedown monster which was another Nimble Momonga. (Atk: 1000 Def: 100)
"Since you destroyed another Nimble Momoga I gain another 1000 LP!" Obelisk mentions
Obelisk Blue: 4600 - 5600 LP
"Alright then that ends my turn!"

"Its my turn I draw!"

"I play the continuous spell Limit Area B! Now all level 4 and above monsters are switched to defense mode and must stay in defense mode. I'll set another monster and end my turn!" The Obelisk ends his turn.

"My turn, I draw!" Red Hat draws.
Hand 5
"Treeborn Frog effect activates since he's in the graveyard and I have no facedowns in my Spell & Trap card zone he is special summoned during my standby phase." (Atk: 100 Def: 100) The unimpressive frog with a halo emerges from the ground croaking. "Now I tribute Treeborn Frog to summon Mobius the Frost Monarch! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1000)" A giant frost aquatic serpant appeared. With Limit Area B still on the field was forced to defense mode. "Mobius effect, since he was tribute summoned I can destroy up to 2 spells or traps. So mobius will destroy your Limit Area B and your Dark Door!" Mobius fired blast of frost snow destroying both floodgates.
"Gah! No way!" The Obelisk gasped.
"I switch Jinzo and Granmarg back to attack mode. Granmarg attack his second facedown monster!" as Granmarg begins to attack the monster that was flipped was revealed to be Cyber Jar. (Atk: 900 Def: 900)
"Cyber Jar's flip effect all monsters are destroyed then we pick up 5 cards. If any of them are level 4 or bellow monsters we can special summon them or set them. The rest we add to our hands." The Obelisk explained as Cyber Jar self destructed destroying all monsters on the field. "Now lets see what we get I'll go first. First card, Spirit Reaper defense mode; Second card, Black Stego Defense mode; Third card, Patrician of Darkness; Forth card, Messenger of Peace; and last card The Shallow Grave!" Spirit Reaper and Black Stego were placed on the field and then shuffled. Rest was added to his hand
"Alright then my turn to draw. First Draw, Zaborg the Thunder Monarch; Second Draw, Dandylion defense mode; Third Draw, Raigeki; Forth Draw, Heavy Storm; and last draw is Dark Magician of Chaos." Dandylion was place on the field in facedown defense position.
"Since I got nothing else. I'll set 2 cards facedown and end my turn." Red Hat ended his turn.

"Half way there. My turn I draw!"

"I play pot of greed so I draw two cards. I'll play this Premature Burial by paying 800 LP I get to special summon a monster from my grave. So Solar Flare Dragon comes back to the field. (Atk: 1500 Def: 1000) Now I summon another Solar Flare Dragon! (Atk: 1500 Def: 1000). Battle Solar Flare Dragon attack his facedown Dandylion!" The Flaming Dragon fired a stream of fire destroying the facedown Dandylion (Atk: 300 Def: 300)
"Dandylion effec since hes sent to the grave I get two fluff tokens! (Atk: 0 Def: 0)" Red Hat explained as two fluff tokens appeared on his field.
"Like thats gonna matter! My second Solar Flare Dragon destroy one of his Fluff Tokens!" The second Solar Flare Dragon fired another stream of fire destroying one of the fluff tokens. "Before I end my turn, I'll play Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your facedown on the right." Powerful Typhoon was formed and dstroyed one of Red Hat's facedowns. "With that I end my turn! Both Solar Flare Dragons effect you take 1000 burn damge as there is 2 of them!" Both Solar Flare Dragon launched Fire Balls at Red Hat.

"My turn, I draw!"

"I play the spell card Raigeki to destroy all of your monsters!" A very destructive blast of lightning came to the field destroying all of the Obelisk monsters. "Maybe you should have paid better attention to the cards I drew thanks to Cyber Jar."
"Grr, Why you..." the Obelisk tried to retort.
"Now I activate my facedown Call of the Haunted to bring back Jinzo! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1500) Now Jinzo attack him directly Cyber Energy Shock!" Once again Jinzo fired a blast of energy at the Obelisk.
Obelisk Blue: 5600 - 3200 LP
"With that I end my turn."

"Just a little more. My turn I draw!"

"I set a monster facedown, then I'll play The Shallow Grave. With this spell both of us gets to special summon a monster from our graveyard in facedown defense position. I'll chose Spirit Raper." Obelisk declares as he special summon Spirit Raper facedown.
"Then I'll chose Dandylion." Red Hat special summons Dandylion in facedown defense position. 'Didn't this guy get the memo. Never play cards that also give your opponent advantage. Just play Monster Reborn in that case.'
"Now I'll play my Messenger of Peace once more so you cant attack with monsters higher then 1500 attack points! With that I end my turn."

"I play the Spell Heavy Storm! All spell and traps on the field are destroyed!" Power winds destroy all sells and traps on both players fields. "Before you ask Jinzo negated Call of the Haunted so he wont be destroyed by Call of the Haunted effects, he gets to stick around."
"Why you no good Slifer Scum."
"Now I tribute my facedown Dandylion to summon Zaborg the Thunder Monarch! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1000) Since he was tribute summoned he can destroy a monster on the field I destroy your facedown Spirit Reaper! Blast it Zaborg, Voltic Thunder!" Zaborg fires power static electricity at the facedown Spirit Reaper destroying it. "Since my Dandylion was sent to the grave I get 2 fluff tokens again. (Atk: 0 Def: 0) Battle, Jinzo attack his facedown monster!" Jinzo fires another blast of energy, althouh when it collided the facedown monster was reveiled to be Marshmallon. (Atk: 300 Def: 500)
Red Hat: 5700 - 4700 LP
"You walked right into that Mashmallon can not be destroyed in battle and when you attack him when he's facedown you take 1000 burn damage." The Obelisk explained all smug.
"Big woop. I set a facedown and end my turn."

"Enough of this farce. My turn, I draw!"

"I tribute 2 of my fluff tokens to summon Dark Magician of Chaos! (Atk: 2800 Def: 2600) His effect since he's summoned I get a spell from the grave and I chose Raigeki!"
"Wait! That means..." The Obelisk gasped at the realization.
"Right so that means, I'll play Raigeki to destroy all your monsters again!" Powerful lightning strikes again at the Obelisk's field obliterating his Mashmallon and his facedown monster. "Battle, Dark Magician of Chaos and Zaborg finish this guy off!" Both monster blast the Obelisk. Depkeating his life points.
Obelisk: 3200 - 400 - 0 LP
"Thats done. I have nothing more to prove." Red Hat tells him off, leaving the courtyard and heads for the stands. Once he got there he sat next to Jaden and Bastion who finished their duels with Syrus and Chumley's duel also coming to an end.
"So you guys finished your duels?" Red Hat asked Jaden and Bastion.
"Just finished. It was a sweet duel. All my HEROs got their time to shine." Jaden explained his duel.
"I finished a while ago. All went according to plan when dueling out there." Bastion explained his duel.
"Good to know all of you did well." Red Hat said.
"Well Jaden here flucked out of his written test but passed his field test." Bastion points outs.
"I may flunk out on the written test, but I never fail the field test." Jaden tells Bastion.
Red Hat chuckled at Jaden's antics. "I like that attitude Jaden." Red Hat says to him. Soon Red Hat sees that Blair's duel is about to start thankfully with a Slifer Red.
"Looks like Blair is about to duel." Red Hat points to the field where Blair is.
"Oh, Blair is about to duel? Sweet, was looking forward to see how Blair duels." Jaden said. Excited to see Red Hat's friend duel.
"I'm interested myself. Though what intrigues me is that Red Hat made friends with this Blair guy." Bastion decided to ask Red Hat on this matter. "Red Hat what complied you to become friends with Blair? You normally dont just befriend anyone like that."
Red Hat had no idea how to answer that. So he tried his best to lie to Bastion and Jaden. "He's a cool guy to hang around with thats all." Red Hat cringed at how poorly thought out he made that. 'That was pathetic. Lets face it, Im a terrible Liar.'
Bastion raised an eyebrow. He could tell Red Hat was hiding something. "Somehow I dont believe you Red Hat. Did anyone ever tell you, you aren't a good liar. Since you arent gonna tell us anyway. Its best I dont ask you." Bastion explain. Leaving a stunned Red Hat and continued to watch the courtyard. 'Am I really that easy to see through?' Red Hat thought to himself, unable to answer his own question.
While Red Hat and his friends were at the stands watching. Blair was still on the field now just begining her duel with a fellow Slifer Red.
"So you are the one I'm facing. If I beat you then, I get to move up in rank." The Slifer Red mentioned.
"Well this wont be easy. I'll show you the power of a Maiden in Love." Blair says with confidance.
The Slifer student was perplexed by that statment. "What do you even mean by that dude. Ah forget about it. Game On!"
"Right then lets do this." Blair said, as she readies her duel disk.
Duel
Slifer Red: 8000 LP
Blair: 8000 LP
"I'll start this off if you dont mind!" Blair declares.
"I don't mind. Show me what you got dude." Slifer said.
"Well then my turn, I draw!" Blair draws.
Hand 6
"First up I play Maiden in Love in attack mode! (Atk: 400 Def: 300) Then I set a facedown and end my turn." The Maiden appears onto the field.
Hand 4
The summoning of Maiden in Love caught the attention of Syrus when he just arrived from his duel along with Chumley, to take a seat next to his friends. "Wow she's cute." Syrus commented, which only caused Red Hat to groan.
"Is that his move? Needless to say it's not all that impressive unless that monster has some unique effect." Bastion points out. Red Hat though had to agree with Bastion's statment.
"The duel just started Bastion, give him a break. I'm sure he has a plan." Jaden replied.
Red Hat though didn't comment on this. 'Blair this strategy wont work forever. Eventually folks are gonna catch on and will not fall for it. This method of control is so contrive and obsolete.'
"A weak monster? Then this might be an easy match up. My turn, I draw!" Slifer Red draws.
Hand 6
"For my first move, I'll play Reinforcement of the Army with this I can add a level four or lower warrior. I chose Warrior of Zera. Now I summon Warrior of Zera in attack mode! (Atk: 1600 Def: 1600) Now Zera attack his weak monster!" Zera charges in unsheathing his sword and slashes Maiden in Love.
Blair: 8000 - 6800 LP
"Maiden in Love's effect activates. When your monster attacks her, she cant be destroyed in battle, so long as she's in attack mode, and he gets a Maiden Counter after attacking her." Maiden sent away a small love heart that popped right in front of Warrior of Zerra face.
"Uh just whats that supposed to accomplished you still took damage?" The Slifer was perplexed by all of this. "I end my turn."
Hand 5
"Just what is his plan? He's just taking unnecessary damage." Bastion askd Red Hat as he was most familiar with Blair.
"Unconventional monster control is all Im gonna say Bastion." Red Hat answered Bastion's question.
"If that's his game plan then he's going to be in big trouble if he's that reckless in a duel." Bastion stated.
"It's my turn, I draw!" Blair draws.
Hand 5
"Now I play the equip card Cupids Kiss and equip it to Maiden in Love. Now I summon Shining Angel attack mode! (Atk: 1400 Def: 800) Battle, Maiden in Love attack his Warrior of Zerra!" The Maiden ran slowly to the other side of the field. As she got close, Warrior of Zerra stepped aside causing the girl to fall to the ground.
Blair: 6800 - 5600 LP
"Just why would you do that? You're just taking pointless damage." The Slifer pointed out.
"When Maiden takes damage from a monster that's been inflicted with a Maiden Counter, the equip spell Cupid's Kiss automatically activates. And that lets me take control of your monster. Sure, it costs me some points, but soon it will cost you a lot more." Blair explains as Warrior of Zerra moves to her field.
"Ah no way! Now Im wide open!" The Slifer exclaimed.
"Now Warrior of Zerra and Shining Angel attack him directly!" Shining Angel and Warrior of Zerra attack the Slifer Red directly.
Slifer Red: 8000 - 6400 - 5000 LP
"Well how was that. I end my turn" Blair ends her turn.
Hand 3
"Despite how flawed that strategy is, its working out for him quite well." Bastion commented.
"The question is can he keep it up?" Red Hat asked to no one. 'This strategy is not gonna last.'
"Here I go. My turn, I draw!" Slifer draws
Hand 6
"I play the spell Terrforming with this I can add a field spell from my deck to my hand and I chose The Sanctuary in the Sky, and I'll activate it right away!" Soon the the floor was changed to a flow of clouds and a sanctuary can be seen behind the Slifer Red.
Red Hat looked at the field and commented. "I see, Since he plays Warrior of Zerra he gonna use him as tribute fodder for one of his monsters which require one of the field spells. One of them is The Sanctuary in the Sky and the other is Pandemonium. Two different boss monsters can be summoned with those field spells by tributing Warrior of Zerra." Red Hat explained. 'Although that strategy is very inconsitent. As there is no way of searching the boss monsters and the field spell can be popped before you get the chance to summon them. Still this isnt that good of a strategy. But for what it is, its alright.' he though to himself.
"If so then your friend there might be in trouble, if that guy has what he needs." Bastion replied.
"I summon another Warrior of Zerra! (Atk: 1600 Def: 1600) Now I'll tribute him to special summon, Archlord Zerato! (Atk: 2800 Def: 2300)" The warrior roared only for the clouds to cover him as a larger winged monster took his place.
"He has it. Looks like your friend is gonna be in trouble." Bastion comments.
"Now I activate his effect by discarding a light monster all monsters on your side of the field are destoryed so I discard my Senju of the Thousand Hands to destroy all your monsters." As the Slifer discards his card, a powerful beam fires behind Archlord Zerato, destroying all of Blair's monsters.
"Ahh! All my monsters they're gone!" Blair gasped while holding on to her hat. 'Should I use my trap? Maybe I should...' Blair then retracted that thought. After she remembered a tip Red Hat told her. 'No, I'll save the trap for later. I can maybe get more advantage.' Blair thought.
"You are wide open! Archlord Zerato attack her directly!" Archlord Zerato roars and fires multiple projectiles of feathers straight to Blair.
Blair: 5600 - 2800 LP
"Just a little more and you will be finished. Man who knew you would be so easy. I end my turn." The Slifer boasted ignoring the scowl and Blair's face.
Hand 2
Red Hat was observing the duel closely. Blair was quite in a perdicament. 'Blair, you're in trouble. Hope you have something planned.'
"N...Not Bad. My turn, I draw!" Blair draws
Hand 4
'Let's hope this works.' Blair thought. "I summon Silent Swordsman LV3 in attack mode! (Atk: 1000 Def: 1600) With that I end my turn." Blair end her turn.
Hand 3
"Huh? What does he mean by level anyone know?" Syrus asked.
"Level monsters or as some call it LV, are a type of monster where after fullfilling certain conditions they get stronger. Many of the level monsters have varring effects between monsters. LV3 is the weakest among many of these types of monsters, with the only exception is Dark Mimic which that it is max Level, and Ultimate Insect which that one starts with LV1. Although no one uses its weakest form." Bastion explained "Question is where did get get such a card."
Red Hat remained silent at all of this. 'LV monsters arent that amazing. Well ones that exist at the moment. The best ones ironically are Slient Swordsman LV7 and Horus Black Dragon LV8. Maybe more better LV monsters will come out but I wont hold my breath on that.'
"A monster which can get stronger overtime. How cool is that!" Jaden said.
"Its risky, but lets hope he knows what he is doing." Syrus commented. Red Hat made no further comment on this.
"That's all? Then this will be an easy victory. My turn I draw!" The Slifer draws.
Hand 3
"Nice I play the Ritual spell Zera Ritual. Now I tribute Mazera DeVile in my hand as material to ritual summon Zera the Mant! (Atk: 2800 Def: 2300) Battle, First Zera the Mant, attack her Silent Swordsman.
This time, Blair was ready. "As if, Go trap card, Mirror Force! Your monsters are destroyed!" Zera the Mant hit the holy barrier destroying him and Archlord Zerato.
"Ah! Oh no!" The slifer gasped at the sight of his monsters being destroyed. "Now Im defenseless. I end my turn."
Hand 0
"Yeah! Now Blair is safe from all of that!" Jaden cheered.
"Impressive, if he gets what he needs. then this duel is over." Bastion said.
Red Hat didn't comment on this outright. 'Nice going Blair you waited for the right moment. Though its always save to have a backup in case.'
"Alright its my turn I draw!"
Hand 4
"Silent Swordsman LV 3 effect, since Its my standby phase, I can send him to the grave to special summon his evolved form. Come on out Silent Swordsman LV5! (Atk: 2300 Def: 1000)" Silent Swordsman not only grows much taller, but also gains a larger more bulky sword. "Now I play Pot of Greed. So I draw 2 cards. A knight or in this case a swordsman always needs a lady by his side so why not. I summon Silent Magician LV4! (Atk: 1000 Def: 1000)" A young spell spellcaster girl with white robes and staff appears.
"So what? You can't finish me of yet." The Slifer stated
"Who said I was done. I play the spell card Level Up! With this card I can send a LV monster to the grave then special summon the monster listed in its text, ignoring the summoning conditions. So heres Silent Magician LV8! (Atk: 3500 Def: 1000)" Silent Magician grew up into a beautiful young woman ready to fight.
"No way! With all of this Im done for!"
"That's right this duel is over. Silent Magician and Silent Swordsman attack him directly!" Silent Magician fired a powerful blast from her staff then Silent Swordsman attacked using his hude sword knocking the Slifer off his feet.
Slifer Red: 5000 - 1500 - 0 LP
"Yipee!" Blair jumped only for her to immediately retract what she just said. "Uh.. I mean word."
"Aw man! Not only did I fail my written test, I also failed the field test. Cut me some slack." The Slifer Red complained.
"Oh well, better luck next time." Blair said as she left the courtyard.
The meanwhile Red Hat decided to leave the stands and join Blair. Bastion took notice of this.
"So he's joining him I see. I think that guy really grew on him if he's willing to go with him." Bastion said.
"I'll say, its nice Red Hat found a bud to hang out with besides us. Besides, Blair had a sweet duel right there." Jaden commented, caring more about the duel.
"He was able to pull a comeback, back there. I'd say that was impressive."
"Don't you find it strange Jay, that Red Hat hangs out ore with Blair these days?" asked Syrus.
"It's no big deal Sy. If Red Hat is able to hang out with others then thats a good thing. It means Red Hat is warming up." Jaden said.
"If you say so. Hey lets geting going Jay."
"Yeah lets head out and see if I can get another duel." Jaden said as he took off and left the courtyard.
"Hey, wait up!"
Meanwhile with Red Hat and Blair
"So you won. That means you'll be moving on to Ra Yellow and that much closer to get to Zane." Red Hat stated.
"Yeah, I'll just have to keep on improving. Say you'll move on to Ra Yellow to right Red Hat?" Blair asked. Curious of Red Hat's desicion.
"Naw, I dont really care about moving up in rank. I prefer being in Slifer Red." Red Hat explained himself. "It may be the lowest dorm, but I like it there. Its nice and quiet and I get to hang out with Jaden."
"Wait so you are never gonna move up in rank? But come on all that work just so you can stay in Slifer Red." Blair complained.
"You can move up if you want. Im staying in Slifer Red. I rather not deal with Ra Yellows or Obelisk Blue assholes if by some miracle I decide to move up which will never happen." Red Hat snapped. "Me being in the lowest rank means, I put down all of these worthless Obelisk Blues and Ra Yellows and show them rank does not determin one skill. Its a falicy to stroke the ego of the elite which I dispise so much."
"Aren't you being too harsh?" Blair asked already souring the mood.
"They way I'm saying it is being too kind. I can be a lot more harsh but I dont because I dont care about their affairs." Red Hat explained this time calming down. "You still haven't answered my question. Will you chose to move up in rank?"
"I..." Blair thought about it for a bit. While moving up in rank will get her closer to Zane, she had to think about other things too. If she were to go alone she wont be able to always stay with Red Hat. He was the only person she can for the time being trust. If something were to slip up. She right get reported and sent back home before confessing her love to Zane. Blair shook her head and made up her mind. "No Red Hat, Im gonna stay with you. I can only trust you with my secret." Blair declared.
This caught Red Hat off guard but thought nothing of it... yet. "I see then Blair. Guess we can head back to the dorm." As soon as Red Hat said that Blair then decided to jump as high as she could and took Red Hat's hat. "Hey give that back!" Red Hat yelled, feeling exposed without his hat.
Blair responded by pulling her tounge out at him. "Catch me first." she said as she took off running.
"Get back here! And give me back my hat!" Red Hat gives chase to the fleeing Blair to get his hat back.
Sunday
Time: 8am
Red Hat and Blair continue to share the same room after the exams and both refused to move up in rank. Both answered for personal reasons. While Red Hat didn't mind as he hates Obelisk Blue and is not interested in going to Ra Yellow. Bair though had to stay in slifer Red to be by Red Hat's side as she couldn't trust anyone else to keep her secret.
While Red Hat was still sound asleep in his room. Blair then came in and started waking him up. Red Hat woke up all groggy, although when he looked at Blair, she was looking a bit down.
"Ugh... Its really hard to live while hiding the fact you're actually a girl. Especially when it comes to showering." Blair explains to Red Hat.
"I get its hard to keep this up especially in the comming days. Although how do you get away with showering where no one notices? Just curious?" Red Hat asked.
"Hm? I'd always slip in right after everyone else was done."
"Oh I see, well that make sense."
"Wha... Hey! Don't even think about it! I'm never talking to you again if you sneak a peek!" Blair accused him.
Red Hat was taken aback by that. "H...Hey! What do you take me for! I wouldn't DARE do that. I wouldn't disgrace myself or a Maiden like you."
"Oh? So are you admiting you're charmed by me." Blair said in a mocking tone.
"Hey! Dont put words in my mouth!" Red Hat retorted.
Blair had to laugh at that. "Im just pulling you leg dude."
"Ugh..." Red Hat tried to wrap his head around all that. "Look lets just head out." Both of them left their room and were about to leave the dorm until Jaden came by with Chumley as they had other plans.
"Oh no."
"Hey, Red hat! Hey, Blair! Perfect timing." Jaden called out.
"Oh... Why is that?" Blair asked not having a good feeling about this.
Chumley then spoke up. "Everyone is heading for Academy wading pool!"
"Syrus and the other are already on their way!" Jaden mentioned. "You guys should come too!"
Blair was now nervous. "Ah, ha, ha, no thanks! Were fine!"
"Hey, Hey, what kind of talk is that? Come on, let's go!" Jaden insisted. "You'll feel great after a relaxing dip! You get your whole body cleansed!"
"My... whole... body..." Blair stuttered.
"Yeah! I'll be giving Jaden here a scrub down!" Chumley said
"So anyway, you gotta come with us!" Jaden said as grabbed Blair's arm and started pulling her.
"W-Wait just a minute! Dont pull me! Let go!" Blair tried to break free from Jaden's grip. "I said we're arent going! And I mean it!" Blair yelled as she was able to break free.
"Huh? Why not!? Come on, you'll like it!"
Chumley sweatdropped at what was happening. "Wow Jaden, you really want them to come dont you. They dont have to if they dont want."
"Nah, Chumley the more the merrier is what I always say!" Jaden said. "Say how about we settle this in a duel!" Jaden declared.
"A Duel...?" Blair asked.
"Yeah! If you and Red Hat win, then you guys dont have to come. But if me and Chumely win then you two have to come with us!" Jaden declared.
"Do we really have to?" Chumley asked. Not to thrilled with having to duel just to go to the pool. "Can't we just leave them be Jaden?"
"What kind of attitude is that Chumley. You can learn a few things in a duel." Jaden continued. "Besides a good way to get a liitle sweat on before a dip to the pool always feels nice!"
Chumley sighed at that. "If you say so Jaden. Least it can help me practice a little."
"Ok! If it's a duel you want! Then it's a duel you'll get!" Blair spoke up as she now began whispering to Red Hat. 'Hey! I really need your help with this one! If I have to go to the pool with them, then they find out I'm a girl!'
Red Hat also whispered to Blair. 'No kidding. Plus if that happens then all of us will be in huge trouble. I cant let that happen to us or Jaden.'
Jaden was getting impatient. "Hey, hey what are you two talking about over there?"
"W-We were just thinking of a game plan!" Blair replied. "Here we go! Game on!"
"Alright! Get your game on!" Jaden says as everyone readies their duel disks.

"Sweet I get to duel you Blair. So how about you make the first move."
"Uh, Thanks. My turn, I draw!"

"Let's see desicions, desicions. I summon Shining Angel in attack mode! (Atk: 1400 Def: 800) I set a facedown and end my turn you up.
Hand 4
"Not bad. My turn, I draw!" Jaden draws.
Hand 6
"Lets rock Polymerization! I fuse Elemental HERO Avian and Burstinatrix to form the Elemental HERO Flame Wingman! (Atk: 2100 Def: 1200) Now Flame Wingman attack his Shining Angel. Infernal Rage!" Flame Wingman shot a stream of fire destroying the angel.
Red Hat & Blair: 8000 - 7300 LP
"Shining Angels effect, when he's destroyed in battle I get to special summon a Light monster with 1500 or less attack points so heres another Shining Angel! (Atk: 1400 Def: 800)" Another Shining Angel appeared to take place of the other one.
"Flame Wingman's effect also activates! When he destroys a monster in battle you take damage equal to your monsters attack points. Let him have it Flame Wingman!" Flame Wingman got close to Blair and attacked her with with a stream of flames. Blair had to hold on to her cap.
Red Hat & Blairr: 7300 - 5900 LP
"Alright! Now I'll throw down a couple of facedowns then I'll play the continuous spell Mirage of Nightmare! During you guy's standby phases I get to draw until Im holding 4 cards then during my standby phases I have to discard cards equal to how much I drew! With that I end my turn."

"It's go time! My turn, I draw!"
Hand 6
"Mirage of Nightmare now activates! Since I have no cards I get to draw new cards!" Jaden explained as he drew is cards.
"Thats not all is it Jaden." Red Hat guessed. As he suspected Jaden had something up his sleeve.
"Yeah you're right, I play the quick play Emergency Provisions! With this I toss out Mirage of Nightmare and in exchange I get 1000 more LP. And since Mirage of Nightmare is no longer on the field I dont have to discard any cards. Neat huh."
Jaden & Chumley: 8000 - 9000 LP
"Fine by me. I tribute Blair's Shining Angel to summon Zaborg the Tunder Monarch! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1000) Zaborg effect when its tribute summoned I can destroy a monster. So Flame Wingman gets zapped. Go Zaborg, Voltic Tunder!" Zaborg launches a wave of thnder zapping and destroying Flame Wingman.
"No! Flame Wingman!"
"Zaborg can still attack. Attack him directly Lightning Shockwave!" Zarborg charges up powerful voltage and launches at Jaden until...
"Go trap A Hero Emerges!" Jaden declares revealing his trap. "Now you have to pick a card in my hand and if its a monster I get to special summon it!"
'Its not even HERO support Jaden but something I guess.' thought Red Hat before chosing. "I chose the far right!"
Jaden looks at his hand and smiles. "Sweet! Wroughtweiler defense mode! (Atk: 800 Def: 1200)" Wroughtweiler appears onto the field next to Jaden.
"Alright then Zaborg attack Wroughtweiler!" Zaborg redirects his attack to the mechanical dog. Destroying him in the process.
"Thanks since Wroughtweiler was destroyed I get to add back Polymerization and an Elemental HERO!" Jaden explains as he adds back Avian and Polymerization back to his hand.
"Nicely done Jaden. I'll set a facedown and end my turn."

"Okay lets do this. Its my turn, I draw!" Chumley draws.
Hand 6
"I'll set a monster. Then I set one card facedown and end my turn."

"Not bad Chumley! I think you're getting the hang of things!" Jaden cheered him on.
"I do try my best to things, thanks to your help Jaden." Chumley replied.
"Alright then. Its my turn I draw!" Blair draws.
Hand 5
"I summon Familar Possessed - Aussa! (Atk: 1850 Def: 1500) Now Aussa attack his facedown monster! Although heres my trap card. Magician Circle! With this card when a spellcaster attacks or is attacked both of us can special summon a lvl 6 or lower spellcaster monster from our deck!" Blair explains. "I special summon Silent Magician LV4! (Atk: 1000 Def: 1000)"
"Ugh I dont have any spellcasters." Chumley stated.
Blair giggled at that. "So that means only I can special summon. Still Aussa continue your attack!" Aussa fires a blast from her staff which revieled to be Des Kola!
"Des Koalas flip effect. When he's flipped face up you take 400 damage for every card in your hand. Since you have four cards you take 1600 damage!"
"Ah! Oh no!" Blair gasped as a shadow of Des Koala slashed at her.
Red Hat & Blair: 5900 - 4300 LP
"I still have a couple of attacks left. Zaborg attack Chumley directly! Silent Magician LV4 attack him directly!" Silent Magician shot a blast of energy from her staff while Zaborg fired voltic thunder at Chumely.
Jaden & Chumley: 9000 - 6600 - 5600 LP
"I'll end my turn with another facedown. Your up Jaden!" Blair end his turn.
Hand 3
"Chumley are you alright?" asked Jaden in concern.
"I'll be alright Jaden. Dont worry about me." Chumley replied.
"Alright then. Its time I get my game on! I Draw!"
Hand 6
"Silent Magician effect activates when ever my opponent draws a card or draws cards, she gets a spell counter and her attack points increase by 500! (Atk: 1000-1500 Def: 1000)" Blair explains, as Silent Magician staff glows with a counter boosting her attack.
"Alright I play Pot of Greed! So I draw 2 cards." Jaden draws his cards, as Silent Magician gains another counter. (Atk: 1500-2000 Def: 1000) "Now lets rock Polymerization once more I fuse Avian, Bubbleman, and Sparkman to create Elemental HERO Tempest! (Atk: 2800 Def: 2800) I play fusion recovery I return Polymarization and Sparkman from the grave and add them back to my hand. Now I fuse Sparkman and Clayman to form Elemental HERO Thunder Giant! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1500) Now I activate the spell R - Righteous Justice! I can destroy spell or traps equal to the number of Elemental HEROs I control. Since there's two both of your facedowns are destroyed!"
"Ah! Oh no!" Blair gasped at that. 'Was hoping he would just attack us.'
"Alright Thunder Giant destroy Silent Magician LV4 Voltic Thunder! Tempest attack Zaborg, Powerhouse Plummet!" Thunder Giant a wave of Lightning destroying Silent Magician and Tempest charged up its cannon and dove at Zaborg, slamming its right arm into the Monarch and released the pent up energy destroying it.

"Alright this duel is almost ours. I'll end my turn here!" Jaden ended his turn.

"Red Hat please tell me you have a plan. We cant lose!" Blair was now practically begging him as she did not want to lose.
"Dont worry Blair, I got this. Its my turn I draw!"

"I play the spell card Foolish Burial. I send a monster from my deck to the graveyard, I chose Treeborn Frog. I summon Breaker the Magical Warrior in attack mode! (Atk: 1600 Def 1000) His effect since he was normal summoned he gets a spell counter that boosts his attack by 300, but thats not the point as I'll use this counter to destroy Chumleys facedown card!" Breaker charges his sword with magical energy and shoots it at the facedown card.
"Ah man! There goes my Beast Soul Swap!"
"Just how do you expect to beat my Monsters Red Hat?" Jaden asked.
"With this Jaden. I play Lightning Vortex! By discarding a card, all your face up monsters are destroyed!" Red Hat discarded Dandylion and then destructive lightning appeared destroying Tempest and Thunder Giant.
"No! Tempest, Thunder Giant!"
"Since I discarded Dandylion I get 2 fluff tokens! (Atk: 0 Def: 0) Battle, Familiar Possessed Aussa and Breaker the Magical Warrior attack Jaden directly!" Aussa fires a blast of energy from her staff while Breaker charged forward and slashed Jaden.
Jaden & Chumley: 5600 - 4000 - 2150 LP
"I'll set a facedown and end my turn. Your move Chumley." Red Hat ended his turn. 'I have no hand left. Lets hope this works. My fluff tokens wont protect us forever'

"Okay no pressure its my turn, I draw!" Chumley draws.

"I play the spell, Polymerization and fuse Des Kangaroo and Big Koala to fusion summon. Master of Oz in attack mode! (Atk: 4200 Def: 3700)" The fusion monster was a creature with a kangaroo like body, but with a koala-like face. It was wearing red boxing golves, boots, a purple vest, a championship belt on its shoulder and carried weights in its front pouch.
"Wow thats a strong monster!" Blair commented. Red Hat though was not amussed.
"Oh yeah! Take down from down under! Go Master of Oz attack Red Hat's Breaker the Magical Warrior!" Master of Oz reared bak one of his fist and swung forward. Although this was about to backfire.
"Go Trap! Sakuretsu Armor! This traps targets your attacking monster and destroys it!" A wild armored beast appeared and charged at Master of Oz and destroying him effortlessly.
"No! Aw man this stinks. I'll play spell Silent Doom, I revive Big Koala and bring him back to the field defense mode. The down side he cant switch his battle postition. (Atk: 2700 Def: 2000) I'll end my turn here. Your move Blair." Chumley ended his turn.

"Alright its my turn, I draw!" Blair draws.

'This card should do. I also have a back up just in case.' Blair thought as she made her move. "Okay, since there are no spell and trap cards on our field Red Hat's Treeborn Frog emerges right back to the field! (Atk: 100 Def: 100)" The frog emerges from the ground back to the field. "I'll set two cards facedown and end my turn. Your up Jaden!"

"Its my turn. All I need is a chance. I Draw!"

"Alright! I play the spell Miracle Fusion! By using monsters in my graveyard and banishing them I get to fusion summon an Elemental HERO. I banish Flame Wingman and Sparkman to create Elemental HERO Shining Flare Wingman! (Atk: 2500 Def: 2100) Shining Flare Wingman gains 300 attack points for every Elemental HERO in my graveyard, and since theres 6 of them, that gives him an extra 1800 attack points! (Atk: 2500 - 4300 Def: 2100) Battle, Shining Flare Wingman attack Breaker the Magical Warrior! Shining Emerald Orb!" Shining Flare Wingman charges a powerful orb of light and launches it at Breaker the Magical Warrior.
"I dont think so I play my trap card Wabakou! With this you cant destroy our monsters in battle and we take no damage!" Blair declares as a barrier appeared protecting both them and their monsters while the attack collided.
"Oh man! We almost had you two! I end my turn. Your up Red Hat" Jaden ended his turn.

"I wont let you push me around Jaden. Boku no Turn! Draw!"

"I play Pot of Greed! So I draw 2 cards!" Red Hat draws and now smiled. "First I tribute Treeborn Frog and my Fluff Token to summon Dark Magician of Chaos! (Atk: 2800 Def: 2600). Now I'll activate his effect I get to add a spell back to my hand and I chose Pot of Greed!" Red Hat added back his card.
"Just what are you planning Red Hat?" asked Jaden.
"You'll find out Jaden! So I'll play Pot of Greed again to draw 2 cards!" Red Hat draws again. "I play the equip spell card Snatch Steal! Remember this Jaden, I'll equip it to your monster and take control of it! Of course he wont have attack points as I dont have any Elemental HEROs in my grave but that wont matter." A force took over. Shining Flare Wingman tried to shake it off but to no avail and soon went to Red Hat's side.
"No! Not my Shining Flare Wingman!"
"Sorry Jaden this duel is over! Dark Magician of Chaos destroy Big Koala! Shining Flare Wingman finish off Jaden! Shining Emerald Orb! (Atk: 2500 Def: 2100)" Dark Magician of Chaos fires a blast from his scepter destroying Big Koala. Shining Flare Wingman fire an energy orb at Jaden finishing him and Chumley off.
Jaden & Chumley: 2150 - 0 LP
'Guess I didnt need the Fluff Tokens but I really didnt Expect to draw Snatch Steal was hoping for a destructon spell or something.' Red Hat thought, looking back at the duel. Meanwhile Blair sighed in relief; her identity was still staying a secret.
"Aww Man!" exclaimed Jaden after losing to Red Hat and Blair.
"Now you have no choice but to leave us alone!" Blair said.
Jaden groaned at that. "Man, guess that's that! I really wanted everyone to go, too!"
"I think its time we head out Jaden. They dont have to come if they dont want tp. Although they'll miss out on some fun. Come on everyone else is waiting." Chumley replied.
Jaden immediately lighten up. "Yeah, you're right... Later guys! We'll getcha next time!" Jaden then takes off!
"Aww not runing, wait up Jay!" Chumley calls out as he was following Jaden.
Red Hat and Blair stood there for a while thinking about what just happened. Blair on the other had also had other thoughts.
"Phew... That was a close one!" Blair says. "Thank you. Because of you my secret still safe." She thank him.
"Its no trouble Blair. I'm always here to help you keep your secret and help with your goal. Even if it means dealing with this kind of trouble." Red Hat replied. Although he noticed Blair was having thoughts.
"... Hey, um... Can I ask you a question Red Hat?" She asked though she started to blush. "Do boys really scrub each other down before going to the wading pool?"
Red Hat fought hard as to not blush from such a question. Regaining his cool. "Well... Some do, do that but its really not necessary. Its not really a common thing Blair." explained Red Hat.
"Oh, I see... Guess I shouldn't have worried." Blair was still blushing.
"Say lets go somewhere else where we can pass the time." Red Hat sugested. "How about the cliff side."
"That would be nice. It should take my mind off things." Blair agreed to Red Hat's sugestion.
"Alright then lets go." Both headed off to the cliffside. Though Red Hat was keeping an eye on Blair. 'What's up with her? I know that was an awkward question but... Nevermind, I'm probably just overthinking things. I know why she is acting that way. So maybe I should get her mind off this.' With that Red Hat and Blair's days continue with Red Hat still trying his best to keep Blair's secret.
A/N: Thats it for this chapter. Was supposed to be two chapters but as to not waste too much time made it into one chapter. Next time its the Duel Off which will be based on Tag Force 1 not the anime. So expect changes. A reviewer sated one of them was different. Tag Force 1 has 2 different scenarios so dont get confused if one happens over the other even if written. Unlike the Bastion duel where I made just to make a mockery. The Jaden and Bastion duel I'll try and use the one that closly resembles the anime. Anyway thats all for now. As for Blair, I plan to keep her as long as possble just before Season 2 cause its necessary.
