All is Fair for Love
A/N: loosly based on a Tag Force 2 route mostly to save time until I get to a certain point. Some thing you'll see are mostly references.
Sunday
Time: 9am
The School Duel between Duel Academy and North Academy was just a few days away. While all the staff and students were generally relaxing, among other things. However this morning in pacticular had other plans for the day.
"Hey! Wake up!" Blair yelled as she was shaking Red Hat to wake up.
Red Hat yawn as he was trying to get up. "Ugh, fine I'm up. What is it this time?"
"Remember when I said, I want to learn how to cook? That way I can cook something delicious for Zane." Blair beemed as she was thinking this over.
Red Hat groaned at that. "And just how do you plan to do that? Unless you have a cook book lying around, you wont know how to cook something."
Blair pouted at his negativity. "Hey, don't be like that, I sure there's someone who know's how to cook and willing to teach me."
"Even if you do, where are you gonna cook and get the supplies? The Slifer Red dorm isn't really the best place to do all of that." Red Hat pointed out. "Another thing to consider is who will teach you? The Obelisk females wouldn't even associate with you. I doubt Alexis will have anything of value. The staff I doubt will teach you how to cook."
"Oh, come on! Do you always have to be so negative?" Blair complained.
Red Hat sighed at all of this. 'Sometimes I wonder why I put up with this.' he thought before speaking. "All I'm saying this, it will be a lot tougher then you realize."
"Hey, never underestimate a Maiden's determination. I'll find someone to help if you aren't going to help." Blair declared.
"You do remember we have to keep your identity a secret right? Also I can't just leave you alone to do this." Red Hat flattly said.
"So you are attracted to this Maiden then." Blair teased while sticking her tonuge out.
"H...Hey, don't put words in my mouth. I don't say such a things." Red Hat crossed his arms.
"Ha! You aren't so cold when you get teased by me." Blair teased holding back her laughter.
"Look, let's just go. I'll buy a sandwich at the shop before we continue." Red Hat said as he got up from his bed and both him and Blair left the room.
"You do know, only eating sandwiches isn't good for you right?" Blair asked, somewhat concerned.
Red Hat kept on walking while Blair was following him close by. "I lived most of my life eating Insant Ramen, so I'm not complaining."
This caused Blair to deadpan. "Seriously? That's not healthy Red Hat, you need to eat a proper meal."
"Never had one growing up, and that's how I've been eating for a long time since I can't cook." Red Hat then rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. "And I'm completely incompetent when it comes to cooking."
"You are unbelieveable, you know that right?" said Blair. "How do you live like that?"
Red Hat remainded silent for a while as they entered the main academy building. "I rather not talk about it Blair."
Time 10am
As Red Hat got his breakfast from eating sandwiches at the cart in the card shop. Both continued walking the hallways of the academy building. One thing they saw inside one of the classrooms was Jaden Yuki. Currently he was alone with his cards spread out, and thinking to himself. As both of them got closer, they noticed Jaden was working on his deck to prepare for the school duel. However as soon as they got close, Jaden's friends came up to him.
"You know my Valkyrion would be a fine addition to your deck for the school duel." Bastion said as he tried to give hos card to Jaden.
"That Valkyrion is a total children's toy, you need something strong like Etoile Cyber." Alexis said.
"How about my Des Koala?" Chumley asked.
"You can use my Power Bond, if you need." Syrus insisted.
Red Hat had to mentally cringe and facepalm. He now had the urge to slam his head on one of the desks. "Are you guys high? Do you realize none of your cards function in Jaden's deck and all you're doing is crippling said deck." Red Hat explained somewhat furious at their attempts to help Jaden, but kept his cool.
Jaden then snapped, "What I need is some time to think!"
"No need to be rude Jaden, we're only trying to help. After all you have been selected as the Academy's representitive in the school duel. This is huge!" Bastion reminded Jaden.
"And if you don't win, it's gonna be a huge disapointment." Alexis also reminds Jaden. This didn't help calm Jaden at all. It also further annoyed Red Hat.
"Ah, come on! Like there's not enough pressure on me already! I know the schools counting on me, but all I can do is my best!" Jaden yelled out of frustration.
"You're absolutely right, dueling isnt about trophies, it's about being the best you can." Bastion said, trying to calm Jaden down.
As soon the he said that all four of them started to pester Jaden on using their cards again. This annoyed Red Hat as despite what he just said, they weren't willing to listen to him.
"Jaden you may want run. This isn't helping at all. Run and hide somewhere, where they can't find you." Red Hat sujested.
"Good call! If I'm ever gonna arrange my deck I need to be alone." with that Jaden grabed his deck and duel disk and ran out of the empty classroom. Although the others began to chase him, still not understanding they are not helping at all.
"This is patheic." Red Hat sighed at this nonsense. "Their cards dont function in his deck, yet still insist on giving him their cards. All it's gonna do is cripple his deck. Their cards are as useful as Dark Catipulter in Jaden's deck."
"They are really pushing it arent they?" Blair asked.
"Looks like it." Red Hat agreed. "Jaden can handle this himself though. So lets continue at what we were doing."
"Oh Right I neeed to find someone who will help me learn how to cook." Blair said then had a thought. "I think we may have a chance."
"Is that so? Who do you have in mind?" Red Hat asked, already preplexed at what Blair has in mind.
"Follow me and you'll see what I mean." with that Blair takes off with Red Hat following behind her.
After some time wondering around the entire Academy building, soon Blair ran into Ms. Fontaine, the school nurse who was just leaving her office and heading back to the girls dorm. She noticed both Blair and Red Hat approach her... well Blair anyway. Red Hat remained behind Blair.
"Miss Fontaine!" Blair called out.
"Hello Blair, and hello to you too Red Hat." Fonda greeted. "Is there something you need from me?"
"Hey teach, do you know anything about cooking?"
"Hmm? Well..." Fonda glanced around the halls, pondering for a moment. "I guess I do know how to make a couple of dishes..."
"Good enough for me! Teach, please teach me how to cook something delicious!" begged Blair, bending down on her knees. "I really want to cook for someone really special!"
Red Hat raised an eye brow at this over exageration. 'Isn't this going a bit too far Blair?'
Fonda was surprised by this. Normally it would be the girls asking for help in such matters. To hear that Blair, a male Slifer Red, would like to learn how to cook for someone was certainly a surprise to her. At least in her opinion. Fonda giggled, offering a hand to Blair who took it. "Alright, I'll teach you a recipe. In fact, my secret special recipe is so good, It will make the person who eats it fall in love with you! It's my special recipe! The Ultimate Love Recipe!"
"U-U-Ultimate Love R-Recipe!" Blair stuttered with her words. Now fully excited to leard such a recipe to cook. If Fonda Fontaine knew such a recipe, it'll be delightfully perfect to cook it and give it to her beloved Zane! Blair's eyes widened and glittered with joy as she squealed. "Miss Fontaine! Please, teach me! Teach me! Teach me! Teach me!"
Red Hat sweat dropped at the site of all of this. 'That was easy, I guess? I'm surprised with how Blair is reacting, Ms. Fontaine doesn't realize Blair is a girl. Blair be careful or you'll blow your cover.' Red Hat had to get near Blair to make sure she didn't do anything rash to blow her cover.
Fonda chuckled, placing her hands onto Blair's shoulders. "Alright, Alright! Settle down... I'll teach you, if you beat me in a duel. After all, if you don't work, you don't eat right? So you'll have to try your hardest to beat me!"
"Deal!" Blair agreed to the condition. Red Hat though was somewhat amused.
"Let's head to the dueling arena since we are close to it. We'll have a duel there so follow me." Fonda then turns to Red Hat. "Red Hat you can come with us and watch our duel."
"I'm not planning on missing out on this duel, so count me in." replied Red Hat. 'I'm curious on what your deck is Ms. Fontaine. It's not every day you see a teacher duel.'
All three of them began walking to the duel arena, which wasn't very far from their location. As soon as they got there, Red Hat noticed there was no one here. With no spectators, Red Hat was relieved. As he doesn't have to do something off to keep Blair's identity. Fonda and Blair then took their spots on each side of the arena.
"Ready Blair?" Fonda attached her duel disk and activated it.
"You've got it! Let the duel for love commence!" announced Blair.

"How about I go first?" asked Fonda, receiving a nod from Blair. "Okay then My draw!"
Hand 6
"I summon Cure Mermaid in attack mode! (Atk: 1500 Def: 800) Next I'll set one card facedown and end my turn. Your move Blair."
Hand 4
Red Hat was already underwhelmed by this play. 'Just what is your goal? LP gain stall or something? Cause that's what it looks like to me.' he thought to himself but didn't judge further.
"Not a bad field. It's my turn, I draw!" Blair drew her card.
Hand 6
"I activate the spell Reinforcements of the Army to add a level 4 or lower warrior from my deck to my hand. I choose D.D Warrior Lady, and I'll summon her right away! (Atk: 1500 Def: 1600) Now I'll have her attack your Cure Mermaid. Sure they have the same attack points, but if D.D Warrior Lady attacks a monster or is attacked she can banish that monster!" D.D Warrior Lady was about to attack although...
"Sorry Blair, but I activate the continuous trap Gravity Bind! With this trap in play all level 4 and higher monsters can not attack. So your attack stops." as Fonda's trap was activated both monsters were pulled down by heavy gravity as now neither can move forward for attacks.
"Oh well then, I set a facedown and end my turn." Blair ends her turn.
Hand 4
So far in this duel Red Hat wasn't impressed. 'Gravity Bind stall, how quaint. One of the main reason I always bring Jinzo in every single deck I play, while ocassionally bringing Mobius the Frost Monarch if Jinzo get's destroyed or when playing my Monarch deck. Stall players are obnoxious, cause half the time they don't do anything of value besides burn.' Red Hat thought, watching the duel carefully.
"Well then it's my turn. I draw!" Fonda draws.
Hand 5
"Since its the standby phase Cure Mermaid's effect activates. I gain 800 LP during every one of my standby phases." Fonda said as Cure Mermaid chanted giving Fonda LP boost.
Fonda: 8000 - 8800 LP
"Now I play the spell card Soul Taker. This will destroy your D.D Warrior Lady but in exchange you gain 1000 LP." The soul D.D Warrior Lady was removed from her body before being destroyed before heading to Blair
Blair: 8000 - 9000 LP
"Now I summon Injection Fairy Lily in attack mode!(Atk: 400 Def: 1500) Now I attack with Injection Fairy Lily, her effect if she battles, by paying 2000 LP I can boost her attack points by 3000. So now she has 3400 attack during damage calculation only! Give him a check up Lily." Injection Fairy Lily's needle grew larger as she gained attack points and stung Blair with it.
Fonda: 8800 - 6800 LP
Blair: 9000 - 5600 LP
"Ow! That stings!" Blair yelped, as she was stunged by the large needle.
"That's a sign of things to come. Cure Mermaid can't attack since she is level 4, so I end my turn here Blair." Fonda Fontaine ends her turn.
Hand 3
Red Het in the meanwhile was watching all of this. 'So LP gain stall with Injection Fairy Lily and level and attack floodgates huh. Not the worst thing ever, but very easy to distrupt. I hope Blair has stocked up on spot removal, since battle is the least relevant way to destroy monsters. Also at least having MST like card, otherwise this duel will take a while. Because Fairy Lily's effect works before damage calculation Blair can't use Magic Cylinder, after Ms. Fontaine payed LP. I hope she knows that as many don't seem to get that.' Red Hat thought to himself.
"Okay my turn I draw!" Blair draws

"Okay first I play Pot of Greed! So I draw 2 cards." As Blair drew her cards. 'I need to get rid of that Gravity Bind if I want to attack. I can't attack that Injection Fairy Lily with a lower level monster as she can just pay LP to boost her and slowly chip away at my LP anytime. I hope this works.' Blair thought to herself before continuing her turn. "I set one card facedown and summon Silent Swordsman LV3 in attack mode! (Atk: 1000 Def: 1000) With that I end my turn." Blair ends her turn.

"Rough break I guess. My turn, I draw!" Fando draws

"Cure Mermaids effect so I get another 800 LP since it's my standby phase" Fonda announces as Cure Mermaid chants a spell giving her more LP.
Fonda: 6800 - 7600 LP
"Now I summon Sangen in attack mode! (Atk: 1000 Def: 600) Battle, Injection Fairy Lily attack his Silent Swordsman!" As Injection Fairy Lily was about to charge and use her needle to attack, Blair was redy this time.
"Not so fast teach, I activate my trap Mirror Force! This destroys all your monsters, and since Cure Mermaid was also in attack mode she is also destroyed!" As Injection Fairly Lily was about to attack her a holy barrier appeared destroying her along with Fonda's other monsters.
"Oh my, but Sangen's effect activates, if he is sent from the field to the graveyard I get to add a monster with 1500 or less attack from my deck to my hand and I choose Marshmallon! I now set one card facedown then I play the spell Limit Area B so all level 4 and higher monsters are forced into defense mode!." as Fonda was about to end her turn...
"Before you end your turn teach, I play my facedown Dust Tornado! I'll use it to destroy your Gravity Bind!" A Tornado appeared on the field destroying the Gravity Bind trap card as it was consumed by the tornado. "That's not all I get to set a facedown from my hand if I have one, which I do of course so I'll set it right away!" Blair said as she set one card from her hand.
"My, looks like you are preparing for something well do show me your skills. I end my turn" Fonda said as she ended her turn

'Good going Blair. Although you may want to have some back plan just in case this backfires. At least you are abandoning your old Maiden strategy. It doesn't work Blair. You can fool a few dolts, but they will catch on making your strategy pointless later on.' Red Hat thought to himself.
"Okay, It's my turn, I draw!" Blair Draws
Hand 4
"It's my Standby Phase, so that mean's Silent Swordsman gets an upgrade. By sending him to my grave I can now special summon Silent Swordsman LV5 from my deck! (Atk: 2300 Def: 1000)" Silent Swordsman grows much taller, and also gains a largr more bulky sword. "Silent Swordsman LV5 is uneffected by your spells so that means, he's immune to Limit Area B!"
"Wait! That means I'm wide open for attack!" Fonda gasps in realization.
"That's right so Silent Swordsman LV5 attack directly!" Silent Swordsman now begins to charge in ignore the Limit Area B floodgate. As was about to land his strike.
"Here's my trap Wildsrpead Ruin. This destroys your highest attacking monster. Since you only have one, that means your Silent Swordsman gets destroyed!" A large mine appeared ready to self destruct and destroy Silent Swordsman.
"Not so fast teach, I reveal one of my facedown cards. Go counter trap, Seven Tools of the Bandit! Now by paying 1000 LP I can negate the activation of your trap and destroy it. So Silent Swordsman isn't going anywhere!" Various tools appeard which attached to the mine, disabling the mine, and rendering it useless. "Silent Swordsman LV5 continue your attack Silent sword slash!" Silent Swordsman continued to charge in and slashed Fonda.
Fonda: 7600 - 5300 LP
Blair: 5600 - 4600 LP
"Now I summon Silent Magician LV4 in attack mode. Sure your Limit Area B forces her into defense mode but thats okay. (Atk: 1000 Def: 1000) Now I set a facedown and end my turn." Blair ended her turn. 'Next turn Silent Swordsman will evolve into LV7. Sure he may disable all spells but I dont have much choice if I want to bypass that. I also need to be careful with that Mashmallon.'

"You're doing pretty well Blair. My turn, I draw!"
Hand 3
"Silent Magician LV4 effect, when ever you draw a card she gets a spell counter which booster her attack by 500 for each spell counter. (Atk: 1000-1500 Def: 1000)" Silent Magician staff begins to glow as a spell counter was placed.
"That's nice and all but she can't attack thanks to Limit Area B. Now I'll set a monster and set a facedown card. That ends my turn." Fonda ends her turn.

'Okay I know for a fact that has to be her Mashmallon. And her facedown is another trap preparing for my Silent Swordsman incase I destroy her Mashmallon. Lucky I still have a trap card waiting. I just need to draw the correct card.' Blair was thinking this over. "Alright it's my turn, I draw!" Blair draws.
Hand 3
"First I play MST immediately since it's my standby phase to destroy that facedown card!" Powerful Typhoon winds appeared and destroyed Fonda's facedown card. "Now since it's still my standby phase I activate Silent Swordsman LV5 effect, since he attacked directly last turn I can send him to the grave and special his final form. Now come out my knight in shinning armor, or in this case Silent Swordsman LV7! (Atk: 2800 Def: 1000)" Silent Swordsman now grew slightly taller and his sword now got even bigger and bulkier.
"That's one impessive monster Blair." Fonda complimented Blair's monster.
"Thanks, but his effect is even better! While he's on the field, he negates all faceup spell cards including ones we intend to activate! So that means your Limit Area B is negated!" Silent Swordsman used his sword to create a shockwave around the duel field disabling Limit Area B and any other spell that intends to be played. "And since Limit Area B is now negated Silent Magician can now be in attack mode! Battle, Silent Magician LV4 attack her facedown monster!" Silent Magician charges up her staff and creates an orb and firing it at the facedown monster. The set monster happened to be Marshmallon (Atk: 300 Def: 500).
"Marshmallon effect, since you attacked him while facedown defense mode you take 1000 burn damage!" Fonda explained as Marshmallon took the blast, although...
"I was hoping for that, cause now heres my counter trap Divine Wrath! Now by discarding a card your Marshmallon effect is negated and destroyed!" As Blair discarded her card, a powerful holy ray of light blasted Marshmallon and destroying it. "Now that he's out of the way, Silent Swordsman can attack you directly. Go Silent Sword Slash!" Silent Swordsman once again charged forward and slashed Fonda directly.
Fonda: 5300 - 2500 LP
"Alright, almost there! That love recipe will be mine! I set a facedown and end my turn." Blair ended her turn.
Hand 0
'Blair, you have no hand. Unless that facedown will help you, be careful as Ms. Fontaine will maybe have a comeback despite only have one card in her hand right now.' Red Hat thought to himself as he was observing. 'Still, so far you been playing well Blair. Just cool it with the traps.'
"Okay then my turn I draw!" Fonda draws.
Hand 2
"Dont forget, Silent Magician LV4 gains another counter since you drewa card. (Atk: 1500 - 2000 Def: 1000)" Blair reminded Fonda, as Silent Magician's staff glowed brighter signaling another counter.
"I summon another Injection Fair Lily! (Atk: 400 Def: 1500) Now I'll have her attack your Silent Swordsman LV7!" Before Fonda could activate her monster's effect. Blair had something else in mind.
"Dont be to sure Ms. Fontaine. Go Trap Sakuretsu Armor! You're attacking monster is destroyed!" An armored beast appeared and charged right into Injection Fairy Lily destroying her.
"No! Now I have nothing!" Fonda gasped as now she had nothing. 'The spell in my hand is useless cause of Silent Swordsman.'
'Blair, you won. Nice going, but do cool it with the traps. It almost looked like you bricked really hard.' Red Hat thought to himself.
"I have nothing left so I end my turn." Fonda ended her turn.

"It's my turn. I draw!" Blair draws.
Hand 1
"How about I end this with style. Silent Magician LV4 attack her directly! Silent Burning! Then Silent Swordsman LV7 finish her! Silent Sword Slash!" Silent Magician charges her power by her staff and launches a ball of white energy at Fonda, While Silent Swordsman charged once again slashing her again. Depleting her LP.
Fonda: 2500 - 500 - 0 LP
"I did it! I won!" cheered Blair jumping up and down. Red Hat was amsused by this and went near her.
Fonda let out a sigh, deactivating her duel disk. "The teacher lost... You're good, Blair! Guess I sould change my deck some more!"
"Thanks!" Blair nodded before walking up Ms. Fontaine. "Now, then! Please teach me the recipe! The Ultimate Love Recipe!"
"Okay, okay! But..." Fonda scratched her cheek lightly, sweatdropping. "Truth is... I kinda don't have an Ultimate Love Recipe."
"Aww! No Fair!" complained Blair. Feeling like she wasted her time dueling Ms. Fontaine. Blair was so hyped up for the whole thing too. Red Hat mentally facepalm at this whole affair.
'Seriously all of this and nothing. Least I get so see Blair improve her dueling skills... I guess.' he thought to himself.
"H-Hey! Don't worry! Now that I know how fully determined you are I suppose I can teach you a couple of cooking skills." offered Fonda. "I might not cook all the time, but I'm still pretty good!"
"Really? That's great!"
"Alright then follow me to the Obelisk Blue Girls dorm." Fondaa said, as Blair and Red Hat began following her. Blair was now excited, that she is going to learn how to cook. That way she can cook up something delicious for Zane.
Time 11pm
As Blair and Red Hat were following Fonda Fonataine to the Obelisk Blue girls dorm, Red Hat has been questioning everything that has been happening so far in the past couple hours. All of this just cause Blair wants to cook something for Zane, who most likely wont accept said gift Blair was planning on.
'All of this just for love. Life sure is strange sometimes.' thought Red Hat.
As soon as they were out in the open, when Red Hat turned around he noticed a giant Moki Moki near the Academy building. 'Someone must be dueling, but who in the right mind plays Moki Moki.' Red Hat didn't have time to figure it out as the monster was destroyed. Red Hat still couldn't figure out who was dueling. So he decided to leave it be for now.
Soon all three of them made it to the Obelisk Blue girls dorm. Red Hat barely considered this a dorm and looked more like a palace then a dorm. Red Hat scofted at the entire sight.
'Guess Im right. The female Obelisk are so spoiled, they rather waste their time doing whatever rather then actually practicing dueling. I don't count Alexis all things considered. This dorm like male Obelisk Dorm is an eye sore.' Red Hat thought, now having a look of disgust on his face. 'I've heard female students are always placed in Obelisk Blue. So that means there is no merit to this dorm what so ever. Guess Duel Academy is that desperate to have female students. Especially since the majority can not duel or dont care about duel monsters.' Red Hat thought to himself.
Fonda then broke up the silence. "Sorry to say Red Hat, I'm only allowed to bring one male student in the girls dorm at a time, since male students aren't allowed past this point." explained Fonda. Red Hat nods in understanding.
"It's alright Ms. Fontaine, I'll just stay out here and wait until both you and Blair come out and hopefully made something."replied Red Hat.
"You sure you want to do that? It's going to take a while until we're finished."
"It's no trouble really. I don't have anything else to do today so may as well just wait a while." said Red Hat. 'It's more so cause I need to stay close to Blair. Can't leave her alone for too long.'
"If that's what you want then, who am I to stop you." Fonda said as she and Blair went inside the girls dorm. Red Hat meanwhile just decided to sit down near the enterance and took a nap waiting until Blair and Ms. Fontaine returned.
Time 3pm
Red Hat was still fast asleep near the Obelisk Blure girls dorm, as he was still waiting fot Fonda and Blair to return from cooking. It was only a matter of time before Red Hat's slumber would be disturbed by various female Obelisks.
"What's a Slifer Red doing here at the entrance!?" asked a female Obelisk.
"Why is he here! To spy on us!?" another female Obelisk asked.
"Wait, Its that Slifer Red in the red hat. The same one that makes a mockery out of all the the others." another female Obelisk pointed out.
Red Hat then awakens from his slumber with an annoyed look. "First of all, none of you girls are interesting enough to even warrent looking at." Red Hat now gets up and sees multiple Obelisk girls, count five of them "Second of all, I'm waiting for a friend to return. That is all I'm here for. I got bored so I took a nap. Didn't even bother going back to my dorm." Red Hat explains himself.
"Rude much, guess Slifer Reds dont have any manners." one of the girls said.
"Please, all of you girls are spoiled entitled brats makes me question why Duel Academy even has girls besides a sad attempt at eye candy." Red Hat snorted, angering the girls.
"Why you! Is that what you think of us!?" one of the girls asked, enraged by his remark.
"All of you female Obelisk are beneath me. If the male Obelsik are terrible at dueling, what makes me think any of you are gonna be good since it's very clear none of you care about dueling. You all care more about meanlingless things." Red Hat retored smirking at their angry reactions.
"You think your above everyone, news flash you are in slifer red." the third girl said.
"All of you are worse then 6 six year olds. Rank means nothing what so ever. It's just an excuse so losers who paid their way can feel better about themselves. Meanwhile me and the infamous Jaden Yuki, who by the way is representing Duel Academy and beats all of you while in Slifer Red. Only proving my point that your ranks don't mean anything." Red Hat continued his mockery. "In fact all females go to Obelisk just so all of you can feel better. Cause of course all of you are so spoiled and entitled you would drop out if you are placed in Ra Yellow and especially in Slifer Red. Assuming Duel Academy even bothered with making Ra Yellow and Slifer Red exclusive dorms for the girls, which I know wont happen."
All five girls where now fuming with anger. "Argh! Are you some street punk? Cause that's how you're viewing us, Mr. all high and mighty!" One of them tried to slap Red Hat.
Red Hat caught her by the wrist and shook her off. "Don't even try. Unless you feel like dueling me, stay out of my business. I have no interest in any of you. Be thankful I'm being this nice right now." Red Hat said flattly and walks away into the forest, but stays near in case Blair returns. Alone or with Ms. Fontaine. The other girls scrambled as to get away from him.
Soon Blair came out with a couple sheets of papers.
"So you finally got what you needed?" Red Hat asked Blair.
"I sure did. Was practicing for a while but took a while to get a hang of it." Blair beemed with excitment. "With enough practice, I can cook something for my sweet Zane."
"Sure, although it will take some time before you can give him something and confess your love." Red Hat flattly stated.
"And when that time comes, I'll be so happy being with Zane!"
Red Hat chuckled at her antics. "Alright then. Lets head back to the dorm so we can get things ready." Red Hat and Blair now head back to the dorm not only to so Blair can now cook her own food. She is hoping she'll be able to pull it off for Zane.
Tuesday
Time 7pm
A couple days later have passed since Blair got the recipes from Fonda, to learn how to cook. Needless to say she had made Red Hat get up early and stayed at the cafeteria to make some of the recepies that was given to her. Most of the time they were sweets such as chocolate not so much food. Red Hat himself wasn't much of a sweet tooth so he had nothing to say when Blair gave him some of her chocolates to try them out before giving them to Zane.
'I feel like gunnie pig. Being used like this just so Blair can cook something for Zane. Scratch that, Im being a bit too harsh. Doesn't help we have to steal supplies just to make all of this. We also have hide them and clean up the place so Professor Banner doesn't find out.' Red Hat thought to himself and mentally dead penned at his current predicament.
Blair kept on cooking while Red Hat was having his thoughts. He could smell what Blair was cooking. It was something sweet. Still waiting for all of this was getting on Red Hat's nerves after a while, but he had to do it for her. He also couldn't bring himself to be angry at her. After some time, Blair finally came out of the kitchen with a small box rapped up neatly and had a note.
"I'm done!" Blair cheered happily. "Finally ready to give this to Zane!"
"And just where and how do you plan on giving it to him?" asked Red Hat.
"Easy, we are heading to the lighthouse. That's usually where Zane hangs out." Blair then scowled. "And also that girl that always hangs with him."
"You mean Alexis? Sometimes she hangs with him but not always. This may be your chance to give him your gift assuming he's there." explained Red Hat.
"Who ever said I'm gonna give it to him." corrected Blair. "You are gonna give it to him in my place while I watch you from afar."
Red Hat stepped back at that. "Wh...What? Why do I have to do that? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of doing all of this."
"Hey, I can't let my identity get exposed just yet! If Zane likes it then, maybe I'll give him more of my cooking, then I'll declare my love for him!" exclaimed Blair with joy. Red Hat sweatdropped at this.
'This is so counter intuitve. I guess you can say, you're experimenting. Then again I don't know jack squat about love, so I wouldn't know.' Red Hat thought to himself.
"Alright then, lets just hurry to the docks and see if can meet Zane there." siad Red Hat as both him and Blair left the Slifer Red cafeteria while holding Blair's gift.
"Yay!"
Time 8pm
The island had already turn dark by the time Red Hat and Blair made it to the docks where they hopfully are able to meet up with Zane. Sure enough both spotted Zane standing alone at the lighthouse without any sight of Alexis. Blair took this opportunity to hide in one of the bushes while she told Red Hat to go to him and recive her gift. Red Hat reluctantly agreed and headed to greet Zane while holding Blair's gift. Zane then took noticed of Red Hat's pressance.
"So, you're here again." Zane flattly said. "Judging by that box you are holding, you came to deliver that to me."
"Uh, yeah. A girl asked me to give this to you. She worked hard on this just to give this to you." explained Red Hat.
Zane raised an eye brow at that. Not amused in the slightest. 'You are hiding something. The girls at Obelisk Blue wouldn't ask others let alone a Slifer Red to devilver something they made specifically to me. They would just come to me and squeal. Something isn't right here.' Zane thought, thinking this over. Red Hat also wouldn't lower himself to help an Obelisk Blue.
"Is that right. Then why couldn't she just come to me instead of relying on you." asked Zane starring directly at Red Hat coldly.
Red Hat was not phased by this. "She's just a shy girl is all. She wanted me to give this to you."
'You are lying Red Hat. Didn't anyone tell you, you're not a good lier.' Zane thought still coldly starring at Red Hat. "First let's have a duel. Regardless of result, then I'll consider the gift." Zane said.
Red Hat puts Blair's gift a little bit to the side as he and Zane prepared their duel disks, while Red Hat took a few steps back to get in position. "Alright then Zane, Lets do this!"

Zane: 8000 LP
"I'll have you make the first move Red Hat." Zane said.
"Alright then, My turn I draw!" Red Hat draws.
Hand 6
"First up, I summon Breaker the Magical Warrior in attack mode! (Atk: 1600 Def: 1000) When he's summon he gets a spell counter which boost his attack by 300. (Atk: 1600-1900 Def: 1000) Now I set two cards facedown and end my turn. Your move Zane." Red Hat ended his turn.
Hand 3
"Alright then my move. I draw!" Zane draws.
Hand 6
"First I play Heavy Storm all spell and traps on the field are destroyed!" Powerful storms destroyed both of Red Hat's facedowns,
"Dang, now I got no protection." Red Hat said as he covered his face from the storm.
"Now that I have gotten rid of your traps, I special summon Cyber Dragon in attack mode! (Atk: 2100 Def: 1600) Now I summon a card you're familiar with, heres Cyber-stein atttack mode! (Atk: 700 Def: 500) His effect by paying 5000 LP I can special summon a Fusion monster from my extra deck. So I bring out the Cyber End Dragon! (Atk: 4000 Def: 2800)" Cyber-stein unleashed it's power and created a portal which Cyber End Dragon appeard from.
Zane: 8000 - 3000 LP
"Cyber-stein OTK. Looks like im finished aren't I." Red Hat commented as this was a similar strategy he used only with weaker cards.
"It will be once I play this spell, Snatch Steal! With this card I equip it to your Breaker the Magical Warrior and take control of it!" Breaker tried to fight of the spell but was unable and went to Zane's side of the field by Snatch Steals effect. "This duel is over, Breaker the Magical Warrior, Cyber Dragon and Cyber End Dragon finish him off!" Both Cyber Dragon and Cyber End Dragon lauched a stream of fire, while Breaker charged a blue energy wave and launched it at Red Hat. depleteing his LP.
Red Hat: 8000 - 6100 - 4000 - 0 LP
"You were reckless and overconfident, weren't you Red Hat." said Zane flattly.
"That's what I get for playing sloppy. When you duel too many underwhelming duelist, you tend to play very recklessly." stated Red Hat.
"But I'm not one of those people aren't I. You were reckless and careless. One could say I don't blame you, since all you are dueling is folks that don't think through their plays. At the same time don't think you're unbeatable. Scenarios like this can happen, and will lead you to defeat." explained Zane, still having a cold stare.
"Next time, I wont play so carelessly. You can count on that Zane." declared Red Hat, before grabbing Blair's gift. "Say want to open this?"
Zane took a look at it before responding. "May as well. Lets see what this girl has to say." Zane began ripping apart the wrapping paper,then he lifted up the box cover only to discover several chocolate bonbons and a note waiting for him on top of the chocolate sweets.
"Dear my lovely Zane!
I'm so glad you found this note! I've been in love with you ever since we met at the Nationals! I can't stop thinking of you! Please accept my generous gift of sweets! I really worked hard on making them! ~From, yur secret admirer, B.F~"
"B.F.? I'm guessing those are her initials," muttered Zane before giving the box back to Red Hat. "Here, you can have them, Red Hat."
"Huh? Wait, you want me to have them?" asked Red Hat, confused by Zane's action.
"I'm not into sweets, so you can have them or give them to someone else. Be my guess." Zane states, before sighing. "To think she would follow me this far." Zane muttered but Red Hat caught it.
"What do you mean Zane?"
"It's nothing really. I do suggest you either eat those or give them away quickly chcoclates aren't made to last."
"Oh, right. I should hurry up then. I'll see you around then Zane." Red Hat then takes off with Blair's box of chocolates.
Zane stayed behind to think over some things. 'If she followed me then wouldn't that mean she snuck in to Duel Academy? She's too young to enroll in Duel Academy, but I have not seen her at all.' Zane then had another thought. 'That slifer red, Red Hat tends to hang out with it. Can it be her, and maybe that's why Red Hat been acting so strange as of late? I have no definite proof so we'll have to wait and see.'
Time 8:30pm
Meanwhile, Red Hat and Blair left the docks while Zane stuck around so they went unnoticed. When they were in the forest just close by the Slifer Red Dorm, Red Hat was petting and rubbing Blair's back. Blair having both hearing and witnessing her crush reject her chocolates like that...really put a shock on Blair.
"Sorry it didn't work out Blair." Red Hat appologized to her, although he had no idea why.
"It can't be... I thought he would like them!" Blair then tried to acuse Red Hat. "Why didn't you tell me he wouldn't like sweets!"
"H...Hey! How was I supposed to know Zane wouldn't like sweets. You just assumed what Zane would eat and he would accept any food" Red Hat retorted.
"I guess you're right." Blair sighs, but then smiles. "It's not a total loss. At least, I got to see getting your butt kicked by Zane." Blair was giggling at Red Hat expense. Red Hat scowled at that.
"Hey, at least I can take a loss from a powerful duelist like Zane. Heck if Jaden were to beat me, I would be proud and I'll have to step up my game and not play so recklessly." Red Hat stated crossing his arm.
"Whatever you say, come on lets head back to the dorm it's getting late." Blair suggested. Red Hat agreed and both went back to the dorm although, Red Hat decided to give Blair's chocolates to Jaden as entered his room.
"Hey Red Hat, Blair. What brings you two here?" asked Jaden.
"Hey Jaden, decided to give you guys some of these chocolates someone cooked." said Red Hat as reveiled Blair's box of chocolate bonbons.
"Hey thanks a lot man." Jaden grabs one of them and tastes the treat. Syrus also decides have a taste. "Mm, this taste good. Who ever made this sure can cook."
Blair then looked at Jaden awestruck. "R...Really?"
"This does taste bit too sweet, though. It is good though." Syrus pointed out.
"Red Hat, Blair you got to try some of these, man they are delicious." Jaden offered them some of the remaining chocolates. Red Hat took a bite into it. While it was a bit too sweet for his liking, he enjoyed it quite a bit. Blair declined the offer as she knows what her own cooking taste like. Although Blair was having more thoughts.
'He really likes those chocolates, he even said I'm a great cook...' Blair then had a light flush on her cheeks which she tried to shrug it off. Not wanting to forget her priority, which was to get with Zane.
Soon enough both parties finished the chocolates that Blair cooked originally cooked for Zane.
"Man that was delicious. When you get the chance Red Hat, do tell us who made those chocolates. Cause I would sure like to eat who ever made that, make more food." Jaden said with the same ethusiasim.
"I'll keep that in mind Jaden. Anyway time to turn in so I'll see you tomarrow." both Red Hat and Blair then left Jaden's room and closed the door, before returning to their room. With Red Hat immediately got to his bed and drifted to sleep.
A/N: Some gags here are based on very loose interpertaions of how Duel Academy is. Especially when it come to the female Obelisk Blues. The Zane duel was more to show off the Cyber-stein OTK which wasn't popular irl was indeed possible despite what people claim. Don't expect OTKs or FTKs often those are more to prove a point more then anything. (Also if Red Hat is very angry and decides to play them but more on that another day) Next Chpater is the school duel Tag Force 1 version. Not gonna bother with Chazz being in North Academy as again nothing new to add and I want to avoid as much Anime BS as possible unless it's for a gag (More on that another day.
