Duel Monsters Spirit Day - Tag Force
A/N: This is based off of Tag Force interpretation of the episode with some mixure of the anime. So many things do not match. I added some scenes for some added humor and scenarios for some silly moments. Hope this meets to standards.
Wednesday
Time 6am
Red Hat was sleeping peacefully in his room... Until Syrus barged in his room and woke him up from his slumber.
"C'on, Red Hat! Wake up!" Syrus announced.
Red Hat reluctantly woke up. "What could possibly be important enough, to warrent you waking me up this early in the morning?"
"Today's the school festival! You gotta help me set it up!" replied Syrus.
Red Hat's eye began to twitch, but said nothing. 'How I wish I can just sleep all day. If a duel is involved then I hope it's worth it.' He thought as he got ready for the so called festival they were planning.
Today was a really special day. Booths and activities were set all around the Academy Island. Many students walked around and enjoyed themselves. But unbeknownst to the Academy students, a small orb of light descended from the sky above the main building, and giggled with a female voice before floating around different places. 'I've got a feeling that something really fun is about...to...start!'
At the Obelisk Blue Dorm, there were a bunch of students sitting at tables. The area was set up as a kind of cafe.
"Welcome to Obelisk Blue!" A male Obelisk Blue said.
"Sorry to keep you waiting. Here's your Obelisk Blue Blend." A male student, acting as a waiter, set the two beverages on a table that Jasmine and Mindy occupied. "Please enjoy." He bowed to them before walking away.
"My, he's so cool!" Mindy said, giving the retreating waiter a dreamy look.
"Looks like the guys in Blue really are smart, huh?" Jasmine replied, picking up her tea cup.
At the Ra Yellow Dorm, there were a bunch of food stands were the students could buy some food. "Welcome, Welcome! This is Ra Yellow's special takoyaki!" Called one of the vendors behind one of the stands.
"The guys in Ra Yellow are great! And bright, too!" An Obelisk girl holding some cotton candy said.
"Their takoyaki's delicious, too!" agreed her friend, who has been eating some for herself.
At the Slifer Red Dorm, Syrus was pushing a paint cart. "Hurry, Hurry... Gaaah!" Unfortunately, he tripped over some pink paint cans and crashed to the ground, covered in dust and chalk. "(Cough Cough) Chumley, this is the duel stage!" He turned to Chumley, who was sitting on the ground, painting something. "Go paint your sign somewhere else."
"Sorry about that Sy." Chumley replied.
"So, how's it looking?"
Chumley indicated the poster he just finished. It had the image of Des Koala and Des Kangaroo facing each other, equipped with duel disks. "Slifer Red's Speciality Cosplay Duel Tournament! Chumely, your painting is great!" Syrus praised.
"It is, huh?"
"Still, it won't be that popular with just Des Koala and Des Kangaroo... You should really put Dark Magician Girl in the main spot!"
Red Hat, who was resting at the second floor of the dorm, layed his back against the wall and overheard what Syrus was up to. 'This is why I'm not helping you out. You're on your own especially after the stunt you pulled before.'
"Hmm... Dark Magician Girl, huh?"
"Huh? Don't you like it?" question Syrus.
"No, it's not that, but..."
"Anyway, since big bro and the others aren't in the spirit because of the whole thing with Professor Banner. Red Hat even went back to sleep. We have to liven up the Academy Festival." explained Syrus.
"You said it." replied Bastion, who was on the second floor at the Slifer Red Dorm.
"All right, let's do our best!" Syrus started to gather the chalk power into the paint cart. Only he did so in such a hurry, that it caused a big smoke cloud. This of course caused both him and Chumley to cough.
"You're too enthusiastic!"
The floating orb of light passed by and eavesdropped their conversation. 'A cosplay duel? Sounds like fun!'
Meanwhile, Jaden, Red Hat who was still sleeping, Bastion, Alexis, Zane, and Atticus were on the upper level of the Slifer Dorm deck, thinking about what Atticus told them the other day at the abandoned dorm.
"Where could have Professor Banner have gone?" asked Jaden.
"We have no idea. It's not like he could have been captured by a Shadow Rider as he has nothing to do with the spirit keys." Alexis added.
"I wish we knew why." Atticus muttered.
"It was Professor Banner that sent Atticus to the realm of darkness, after all." Bastion reminded them.
"Nevertheless, we shouldn't fix our minds on our enemy." Zane stated.
"I have faith in Professor Banner." said Jaden.
'I don't want to believe Banner is a bad guy.' thought Red Hat.
Then, they all turned and saw Chazz walk around with a foxtail, making strange kissing noises. "Yoo-hoo! Come on, where are ya?"
"Uh, where is what, Chazz?" Jaden asked.
"His mind, Jaden." Bastion answered. "Clearly he's lost it." Red Hat couldn't help but snicker at his comment.
"Can't you tell I'm trying to find Banner's cat? Whereever he is, that's where Banner will be!" At that, Chazz kept searching for the cat in question.
Syrus noticed Chazz's actions when he approached the others. "Has Chazz lost his mind again?"
"Hey, what's up Sy?" Jaden greeted.
The gang followed Syrus, who wanted to show them the poster that was advertising the duel event. The poster Chumley painted showed Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl posing with duel disks. "A cosplay duel?" Jaden asked.
"The Red Dorm's traditional performance, which Chumley told me about!" Syrus said.
"Is that right?" Jaden replied.
"Yep, that's right!" Chumley nodded.
"Seems like fun. You don't know about it?" Jaden asked, as he turned to the others.
"Well, we've only gone to Yellow's festival." Zane said.
"We've never come out here." Atticus added.
'I wonder why?' Red Hat thought.
"Wha!?" Jaden questioned.
"That's it!" Syrus spoke up. "Nobody comes to Red's performences because there aren't any girls in Red!"
Red Hat scowled at that. 'Did you forget Blair was in Red a month back? Wait... nevermind...' Red Hat then imagined something before shaking his head at that.
"No, there aren't any girls in Yellow, either..." Bastion corrected him.
"That's why I thought of something!" Syrus stared at the poster.
"I guess he's not listening..." Bastion said.
"When does this idiot ever listen to reason." Red Hat added.
"To have a flower here for something like this! And so, Alexis!" said Syrus as he turned to Alexis.
"Huh? Me?" Alexis replied.
"I was hoping to save the Red Dorm, so I beg you!" Pleaded Syrus, as he went to his hands and knees.
"W-Wait, Syrus! Quit it! Besides I'm an Obelisk Blue..." replied Alexis.
"That's fine isn't it?" Atticus spoke up behind her. "I'd want to check out your cosplay, too, Alexis."
"Wait did I hear you're entering too Alexis?" Chazz asked as he overheard their conversation. "Then so will The Chazz!"
"Where did you come from?" Jaden asked as he turned to Chazz.
"I wounder if I should enter too. Sounds interesting!" Bastion added.
"Tell me when the duel is about to begin. I want to clear my mind for bit. Hope I get to have a challenge, it's been a while since I expiremented with new deck ideas." said Red Hat as he began to walk into the forest.
Time 8am
Red Hat walked off to the cliff edge as he sat down near a tree, to clear his mind. Red Hat had no idea what to think about the cosplay duel. He knew he wasn't going to dress up. Last thing he wants is to remove is hat for the sake of a costume. Well... they didn't say he had to dress up for the duel. He could duel without wearing a costume right?
Soon Red Hat's wild imagination then kicked in. As he imagined who would Blair dress up as, and how will she look. He imagined Blair will dress up as Maiden in Love, since that was her favorite card. "How do I look Red Hat? Aren't I cute?" asked the imaginary Blair with a wink.
Red Hat then got flustered as he thought of that. He then punched his face to snap himself out of those thoughts. "Just what the hell am I thinking?"
"You're imagining it? You big softie." A feminie voice spoke up from behind.
"That's not true!" Red Hat got up and turned around to face the girl. Only he was surprised to see who it was. "Eh? Aussa the Earth Charmer?"
"The one and only." Aussa smiled as she adjusted her glasses.
Red Hat walked up to her and touched her shoulder. "H-How are you here? And how can I feel you?"
"Didn't you get the memo? Today is Duel Monsters Spirit Day. Today duel spirits like myself can roam free, but only for today. Very few spirits actually bother to come to this realm on this special day." Aussa explained.
Red Hat held his head as he tried to process, what he was just told. "That's a bit much to take in." Red Hat then looked at her. "How can I even show you around anyway? Wouldn't that raise suspicion?"
Aussa chuckled at his question. "You'd be surprised just how gullible humans are. I can just say I'm a cosplayer and they will buy it. Doesn't matter if I'm around you."
Red Hat sweat dropped at that. "Uh... sure. Well I can show you around. Until it's time we head back to the Red Dorm, it's best we stay out of sight. Least for a while."
"Fine by me. Besides..." Aussa takes out a note pad. "This would be a good time to study and write down on how you humans opperate in such settings."
"Very well then, let's get a move on, as we don't have all day." Red Hat stated as he and Aussa began walking together around campus. Doing their best to avoid being spoted by any students.
Time 9am
Back at the Slifer Red Drom as everyone was getting ready to prepare for the costume duels. Various students started to appear.
"What's going on?" A student asked.
"A costume duel?"
"Sounds fun!"
"Hey check it out it's Dark Magician Girl." Chumley said.
This caught Syrus attention. "Dark Magician Girl!? What!? Alexis!?" However, who appeared would leave him disappointed and disturbed.
"Smooches!" Dorthy appeared wearing the Dark Magician Girl outfit.
"AAAAH! On what demented planet is THIS a good idea!?" Syrus cried out in horror, seeing the card shack owner, Dorthy in the Dark Magician Girl outfit. It was quite disturbing.
"Planet Chumley." The koala duelist joked. "Come on, you don't think Dorthy pulls that off?"
"Dont put that imagine in my brain please!"
"Excuse me, but I make a great Dark Magician Girl!" Dorthy said, offended.
"Well that's one opinion..." said Jaden, trying to laugh it off.
"It's more like Dorthy Magician Girl..." Bastion said awkwardly.
As the gang left, Syrus was crying. "My costume duel is gonna be a bust!"
But, he was unaware that a certain spirit was watching fromabove the roof of the dorm building.
Time 10am
Red Hat and Aussa walked to the Ra Yellow Dorm, as Red Hat was showing her around. They both went to the stands to get some food. Red Hat wasn't planning on getting from there, but he at least wanted to be nice for a change. He ignored the stares from other students as they never expected him to be with a girl let alone 'cosplaying' as Aussa.
"Isn't that the notorious Red Hat?" An Obelisk girl asked.
"What's he doing over here? Doesn't he always stay at his dorm?" A Ra Yellow asked.
"Who is that girl anyway, and why is she with him?" Another Obelisk girl asked.
"Who cares, he should be lucky a girl even tolerates being with him." An Obelisk blue said.
Red Hat fought the urge to roll his eyes, as he grabbed some of Ra Yellow's food they made and left the scene with Aussa. Not wanting to get questioned any longer. As soon as they were out of sight is when Red Hat spoke up.
"That could have gone better." Red Hat sighed.
"They are quite a handful aren't they." replied Aussa as she was writing down on her notepad.
"The Ra Yellow ones I don't mind. Obelisk are a different story." replied Red Hat
Aussa continued to write on her notepad before putting it away. "A lot of interesting development I must say." Aussa then faces him. "So far this school has an interesting setting, just not very balanced."
"You can say that again." agreed Red Hat. "Here have a taste of Takoyaki." Red Hat handed her some takoyaki that he held in a plastic plate.
Aussa lightly giggles. "You can be sweet when you want to be can you." Aussa takes a bite of takoyaki she was given. As she took a bite, her eyes gleemed with stars and smiled. "W-Wow! This is amazing! I havent had this kind of treat in ages."
Red Hat chuckled as he rubbed the back of his head. "Like it huh, yeah I tasted them myself. They're pretty good."
Aussa eats a few more before finishing it. "That was a great treat. Since you were kind enough to give this, I should return the favor."
Red Hat shook his head. "There's no need. Hanging out with you is more then enough really."
"Well then should we continue walking?" Aussa asked.
Red Hat nodded. "Sure thing, theres more to show for a while, before I have to return to the Slifer Red Dorm."
"Sounds promising." Aussa said as she took out her notepad again. "There's much to know."
"Follow me." replied Red Hat. Aussa and Red Hat explored more of the island, making sure they don't attract attention from other students.
Time 11am
At the Slifer Dorm, Syrus was sulking for not finding someone who could be the Dark Magician Girl. Chazz was still looking for Banner's cat.
"Ahhh! Harpy Lady! Please don't claw at me! Please!" Inside the Slifer Dorm, Chumley was freaking out when he saw Alexis in her costume. The pieces of the costume were golden armor, talons that were her hands and feet, purple wings on her arms and pointy ears.
"Chill Chumely, it's just a costume!" Alexis assured him. "It's a bit flashy don't you think? This was all they had for woman though..."
"What do I think? I think I'm majorly relieved." Chumley said as he calmed down.
"Chumley, that's just weird." Jaden replied.
"In fact, Jasmine and Mindy called me, too... We were all going to be the Harpie Lady Sisters." Alexis smiled. "At least, we thought of doing it, but they got away..." Alexis turned to Jaden. " So, Jaden, what are you putting on?"
"Uh... well..." Jaden trailed off as he thoughtfully stared at the different kinds of costumes on the tables. "I think..." Moments later. "...This!" The costume Jaden put on was a really bizarre choice. He wore a wide brimmed purple hat, red plate armor, purple gloves and boots, had on a green shoulder-pads and a greyish shield.
"Okay, and what excatly is that?" Syrus asked, after joining the others. He gave him a werid look, just like Alexis and Chumley.
"If I was choosing this or that, then I wouldn't know which one to go as..."
"You can't call that a cosplay..." Alexis commented.
"Well, it is a festival." Syrus replied, smiling awkwardly.
It was then everyone heard metallic stomping from outside.
'Hey, looking good Chazz!' Ojama Green praised.
'Really good!' Ojama Black added.
"Thanks I know." Chazz replied.
'What a costume!' Ojama Yellow said.
When Jaden and the others came out of the dorm building, they were astonished when they saw the costume Chazz was wearing. "Chazz dressed up as XYZ-Dragon Cannon!"
"Whoa! Now that's no amateur's work!" Chumley praised.
"Now THIS is a costume!" Chazz boasted.
"It's the best one that I've seen." Alexis complimented him, now wearing a purple wig.
Glancing at her, Chazz was awestruct. "Ah... Thanks Alexis." He then developed a blush. 'Aw, damn it... I wish I brought a camera...'
"Uh, I don't remember XYZ-Dragon Cannon... ever blushing Chazz." Teased Syrus.
"Shut up!" Chazz retorted. "Now everyone, what do you say we hurry and start the Slifer Red traditional Cosplay duel?"
After a bit Red Hat came back to the Red Dorm with Aussa the Earth Charmer by his side. The others took notice of this, especially Syrus.
"Hey, Red Hat!" Jaden greeted. "Who's your friend you're hanging with?"
"No fair, shes cute!" Syrus whinned. "Why do you know her and we don't."
"I didn't come back here to listen to you complain." Red Hat scoffed. "I came for here to duel."
"Come on, Red Hat! You didn't even make the effort to dress up!" Syrus complained.
"He wouldn't dare take his hat off when he sleeps. Let alone when wearing a costume." Aussa replied. "I'm dressed as Aussa the Earth Charmer."
"Have we met before?" Alexis questioned.
"If we have, we never talk. I'm mostly the indoor type." Aussa answered. "I came out today since it's a festival."
Alexis looked at her suspiciously. "I find that hard to believe. You hang with Red Hat like you're close friends with him. Even the most open minded Obelisk Blue girls don't go near him. No offense Red Hat."
Red Hat rolled his eyes. "Whatever."
"Maybe I just being with him. Besides, for all you know, we could be hanging out in secret." said Aussa, also giving Red Hat a slight smirk. Red Hat looked away, trying not to blush at what she was tryig to do.
"Red Hat with a girlfriend? You're lucky Red Hat." Syrus spoke up.
"We are not like that! You hear me! Nothing is between us!" Red Hat retorted.
Alexis and Aussa began laughing at Red Hat's expense. Soon the rest of the group headed to the duel arena.
Seein Chazz and the others arriving at the duel arena, the audience behind the lines surrounding the duel arena gazed in awe and were impressed by their outfits. They had a feeling that the main event was about to begin, so they sat down and waited for it to begin as more people gathered.
"What's starting?" A Ra Yellow student asked.
"A Cosplay Duel?" Another Ra Yellow asked.
"Sounds like fun huh?" An Obelisk Blue said.
"First up is Red Hat!" Chazz announced. "Who'll face the challenge?"
May students began to whisper at that. Many knew how notorious Red Hat was as an opponent. Red Hat sighed, knowing this would happe. "Why don't I just duel you Chazz? This time a clean duel."
"Yeah right. You think I can duel in this costume?" Chazz scoffed. "I can barely walk."
"Well then Chumley?" Red Hat tured to him.
"Sorry, I'm working behind the scenes today." replied Chumley.
"How about you Syrus." Red Hat said in a threatening tone. 'I want to polverize you after those comments from before and well...' He refused to finish that thought.
"I completely forgot my own cosplay!" said Syrus. "Besides, I'm the master of the ceremony! I'm doing part of the commentary!"
Something flased in the opposite direction they were all in as they heard a snapping sound. Twisting around, they saw Atticus with his camera, having snapped a picture of Alexis. "What are you doing Atticus?"
"We'll, your brother's just glad that his little sister turn int this beautiful of a woman while he wasn't looking!" Atticus said with a smile.
"Atticus, those pictures!" Alexis said warningly.
"I was thinking of sending them off to the members of your fan club, Alexis!" Atticus added, before avoiding a swipe from Alexis' claws before running away.
"Wait up, Atticus! Give me those pictures!" Alexis demanded as she chased after him, while he took more photos of her.
"So Attius..." Syrus spoke up.
"Was a character like that?" Jaden questioned.
Aussa giggled at the exchange. "Sibling banter, reminds of playful banter I have with my friends." she muttered.
'He got pictures of Alexis!' Chazz thought with a big grin on his face. 'Atticus, I'll be respecting you!' Chazz then started to cry tears of joy.
Red Hat took notice of this. 'Chazz, I'll deal with you later.' He thought as he stepped forward to the arena. "So who will it be?"
"I'll duel!" A cheerful, feminine voice asked. Everyone tured around and saw..
"Dark Magician Girl!?"
The beautiful young girl dressed up as Dark Magician Girl smiled to them. She looked just like the real deal! Aussa however kow better. 'Mana? So you come here on occasion for some fun. Who would have thought. This should be good.' Aussa smiled and adjusted her glasses. 'Best part they don't even know you're the real deal. Just like how they don't know I'm the real Aussa the Earth Charmer.'
"Wow! It's Dark Magician Girl!" Syrus said, entranced by her appearance. "And it's not Dorthy. And she looks just like the real thing!"
Not only was Syrus entranced by her appearance, many male spectators stared at her as well. "Oh man, what student is that?"
"Looks just like her!"
"Man, I think I'm in love."
"So can I?" She asked sweetly.
"Can you what? Wait, duel? Definitely! Absolutely! As organizer of this event, I say yes!" Chazz said.
"But Sy organized this." Chumley pointed out.
"Who cares? The answer is still yes!" Syrus said as he turned to Dark Magician Girl.
"Get your game on, who ever you are!" Jaden said.
"Thanks!"
"Alright, Game on!" Red Hat declared.
The gang made room for the two duelist and spread out to watch the match. Bastion, who was dressed as Amazoness Tiger was standing at one place, wheree Crowler and Zane showed up. "The Red Dorm's event is about to star, isn't it?" The blue headmaster wondered.
"Dang it, did I fall behind from taking too long with mycosplay?" Bastion complained.
"Who's dueling is Red Hat and then..." As soon as his eyes landed on the named girl, bhe became infatuated with her beauty, like the other boys. "Dark Magician Girl! She is pretty, is she not? She is cute, is she not? Such grace she has, does she not?"
"Syrus, where are ya!" yelled Chazz through the intercom.
Syrus didn't seem to hear him, as he was crying tears of joy over the sudden turn of events. "The Dark Magician Girl, in the stage that I set up! My planning was the best!"
"SYRUS!" Chazz yelled, this time getting his attention as his ears hurt. "QUIT GOING GAGA OVER THE DARK MAGICIAN GIRL AND COME TO THE COMMENTATOR BOOTH! What, are you gonna stare at her all day?"
"Quiet!" Syrus said as he quickly got over to him, and picked up a microphone. "Okay! ntroducing today's main event!"
"Hello! It's our only event." Chazz corrected.
"We'll commence the Cosplay Duel between Red Hat and Dark Magician Girl!"
The audience cheered.
"Hosting will be Mr. Chazz-It-Up Princeton..."
"Hi!"
"And myself, Syrus Truesdale! How ya doing?"
But the crowd quickly lost interest in the commentary. "That's fine, just hurry up!" One of them insisted.
Chazz growled a little before Syrus spoke up again. "Fair enough! Oh look, the duelists have justt entered the arena!"
"What do you mean? They've been there for 10 minutes now!" Chazz corrected.
"In the red corner we have the infamous, Red Hat!"
Red Hat launched a fist forward as he put on his duel disk.
This earned some groans from the audience. "You're not even dressed as a duel monster." An Obelisk Boy said.
"Are you that desperate for a duel?" Another Obelisk Blue boy added.
"Just who do you think you are?" A Ra Yellow said.
"I'm never taking off my hat and that's final!" Red Hat yelled at them.
"Does he shower while wearing his hat?" Syrus commented.
"SHUT UP! You know nothing about me!" Red Hat yelled at Syrus. Syrus coward back a bit in response.
Aussa walked up to him. "Try not act so rash. This is meant to be a fun event." Aussa pinches his cheek and giggles. "Have fun... handsome." She teased as she walked back to the crowd. Red Hat lowered his hat as to not reveal his flustered face.
"Aww Come on! Why does Red Hat get such treatment!" Syrus complained, trying not to cry.
"What does that girl see in him?" An Obelisk Blue boy asked.
"How can any girl at our dorm like someone so cold." An Obelisk girl added.
"What does she see in him anyway?" Another Obelisk girl said.
"He's a real piece of work isn't he..." Chazz quiped.
"Speaking of that..." Syrus moved on. "In the blue corner, and this amazing: our idol! Dark Magician Girl makes her debut! Isn't she just absolute cutest?"
"Nice job. Real professional." Chazz muttered.
"Oh come on. You were thinking it."
"Hi you guys!" Dark Magician Girl called out and waved to everyone. "Hope you all cheer me on!"
The whole crowd, including Syrus, cheered for her in admiration, while Chazz covered his ears because of the loud cheer.
"You know Sy, we're supposed to be neutral."
"Sorry, but I've shifted into high gear."
"You lost it."
"There's being a fan, and then there's being obsessive." Aussa muttered, sweatdropping at Syrus' behavior.
"Gentleman and woman, start your duel disks!"
At Syrus' command, the duelist activated their duel disk. "I may not know who you are, but give me a good match and do your best." Red Hat said to his opponent.
"Hey thanks, you too!"
"Alright then, it's go time!"

Red Hat: 8000 LP
Dark Magician Girl: 8000 LP
"I choose who goes first, and it's Dark Magician Girl!" Syrus announced.
The crowd cheered at that dicision, much to Red Hat's annoyance.
"It's my turn, I draw!" Dark Magician Girl draws.
Hand 6
"Alright, first up I play the spell Gracful Charity! I draw 3 cards then I discard 2." Dark Magician Girl draws her cards and discards Apprentice Magician and Magician's Valkeria. "Now I set a monster facedown and end my turn." Dark Magician Girl ends her turn.
Hand 5
As soon as she did, the crowd cheered and howled out her name as she waved to them.
"I don't deserve such praise." DMG said.
"Yes you do! You deserve even more!" Syrus replied while clapping. "But it'll have to wait after Red Hat goes."
Aussa sighed as she witnessed what she was seeing. 'I get Mana has a huge following, but this is ridiculous. I never seen this many humans act in such a way for one girl. Let alone a duel spirit.'
"It's go time. My turn, I draw!" Red Hat draws.
Hand 6
"I summon Breaker the Magical Warrior in attack mode. (Atk: 1600 - 1900 Def: 1000)" The spellcaster warrior appeared. "His effect, he gains a spell counter which boosts his attack by 300 when normal summoned. Battle, Breaker attack her facedown monster!" Breaker charged in and slashed the facedown monster. Revealing to be Apprentice Magician (Atk: 400 Def: 800).
"You destroyed Apprentice Magician. His effect activates, allowing to special a level 2 or lower spellcaster monster in facedown defense position. I chose Magician of Faith!" DMG placed her in facedown defense position after her monster was destroyed. (Atk: 300 Def: 400)

"Alright, you go Dark Magician Girl! Show him what you can do!" Syrus exclaimed.
"You go, Dark Magician Girl!" The crowd repeated Syrus' words.
"Wow, bias much?" Alexis asked, after returning from her chase.
"This is just sad. There's fans and there's... whatever this is supposed to be." Aussa muttered while shaking her head.
"It's my turn! Wish me luck guys.~ DMG called earning some more cheering from the crowd. "I draw!" DMG draws.
Hand 6
"I banish Magician's Valkeria and Apprentice Magician to special summon Chaos Sorcerer! (Atk: 2300 Def: 2000)" Chaos Sorcerer appears on the field.
"No way! She has a chaos monster?" Alexis questioned, shoocked someone else has a chaos monster.
'Mana isn't holding back this time. I think she knows how powerful Red Hat can be.' Aussa thought as she wrote on her notepad. 'The question is, will Red Hat not act so overconfident that he'll lose the duel.'
"An awesome move from Dark Magician Girl!" Syrus praised.
"Way to go, Dark Magician Girl!" The audience chanted.
"Now I flip face up my Magician of Faith. So now I get to add back my Gracful Charity spell! I'l play once again." DMG draws her cards and discards Old Vindictive Magician and Skilled Dark Magician. "Now I tribute my Magician of Faith to summon this, Dark Magician Girl! (Atk: 2000 Def: 1700)" A copy of Dark Magician Girl appeared on the field.
'Mana can just enter the field herself. She did this as to not get caught, that she's the real deal.' Aussa observed.
"She played the card she's cosplaying as!" Crowler cheered.
"But that's strange." Bastion said. "It was my understanding that only the King of Games, Yugi Moto, possessed the Dark Magician Girl."
"Mine too." Zane nodded. "Just who is this girl."
"Now Chaos Sorcerer effect, I can banish a face up monster on the field, but he can't attack this turn. So Breaker get's banished!" Chaos Sorcer releases powerful purple flames and Breaker vanishes from the feild.
"Here it comes! On three, okay!" Syrus called out. "1,2,3!"
"Attack!, Go, Dark Magician Girl, attact him directly! Dark Burning Atack!" DMG commanded as her doppelganger raised her staff and fired a ball of pink magic energy.
"BRING IT ON!" yelled Red Hat as he took the attack directly.
Red Hat: 8000 - 6000 LP
"Direct hit." DMG said.
"That's the way!" The crowd called out.
"Thanks!" She waved at them. "I end my turn." DMG ends her turn.
Hand 4
"A chaos monster huh." Red Hat smirks as he get's ready. "Heh, this may even be a fair fight! I better get my game on!"
"Red Hat is all fired up now." Alexis noted.
"Red Hat is having a blast with her, haha." Jaden commented.
"It's my turn, I draw!" Red Hat draws.
Hand 5
"I play my own Gracfully Charity! I draw 3 then I discard 2." Red Hat draws his cards and discards D.D Warrior Lady and Dandylion. "Dandylion's effect, since he was sent to the graveyard I get two fluff tokens. (Atk: 0 Def: 0 X2)" Two tokens appeared on the field. "I can't tribute them the turn they are summoned but oh well. I play the spell card Raigeki! This destroys all your monsters!" A powerful thuderbolt destroyed both of DMG's monsters.
"Take it easy! Your opponent is a girl!" The crowd booed.
Aussa adjusted her glasses and blinked a few times. "Are these guys for real? Don't they know that is the exact opposite to be noticed?"
"Don't bother." Alexis sighed. "Some of the girls in the dorm even ask for the guys to take it easy on them, which is quite sad."
"Do tell." Aussa agreed.
'Those guys are getting on my nerves.' Red Hat thought with distain. "I set a monster and end my turn." Red Hat ends his turn.
Hand 3
"It's my turn, I draw!" DMG draws.
Hand 5
"I banish Magician of Faith and Chaos Sorcerer to special summon another Chaos Sorcerer onto the field! (Atk: 2300 Def: 2000)" A second Chaos Sorcerer appears on the field. Now I play the spell Monster Reborn to bring back Dark Magician Girl! (Atk: 2000 Def: 1700)" Her doppelganger reappears on her field.
"Alright! She got her field back!" Syrus praised as the audience cheered for DMG.
"Now I play the spell card Dimension Fusion! By paying 2000 life points. Both of us can special summon as many banished monsters as possible!" DMG explained.
Dark Magician Girl: 8000 - 6000 LP
"Since you banished one of my monsters. I get to bring back Breaker the Magical Warrior. This time Defense mode! (Atk: 1600 Def: 1000)" Breaker returns to Red Hat's field.
"I get to summon 3 of my banished monsters. Return to the field Chaos Sorcerer, Magician's Valkeria and Apprentice Magician." Three of DMG monsters return to her field. (Atk: 2300 Def: 2000) (Atk: 1600 Def: 1800) (Atk: 400 Def: 800)
"Dark Magician Girl has a full board of monsters, and they are ready to begin the onslaught!" Syrus commented. The crowd cheered in agreement.
"First up, Apprentice Magician attack his fluff token." Apprentice Magician fires a small dark orb, destroying the token. "Magician's Valkeria attack his other token. Mystic Scepter Blast!" Valkeria fires a blast of green energy from her scepter at the second fluff token. "Dark Magician Girl attack his facedown monster! Dark Burning attack!" her doppelganger raised her staff and fired a ball of pink magic energy at the facedown monster revealing to be Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive. (Atk: 1400 Def: 1000)
"Dekoichi flip effect. I get to draw 1 card." Red Hat stated as he drew his card.
"Still not done. Chaos Sorcerer number 1 attack his Breaker the Magical Warrior!" The first Chaoas Sorcerer destroyed Red Hat's last monster. "Now my final Chaos Sorcerer attack him directly with Chaos Flame!" The second Chaos Sorcerer launches two balls of purple flames at Red Hat.
"Argh! Bring it on!" Red Hat yelled as he took the hit.
Red Hat: 6000 - 3700 LP
"Yeah you go Dark Magician girl!" The crowd cheered.
"The crowd is going wild right now!" Syrus commented.
"And who could blame them? Not only has Dark Magician Girl not taken any damage, she is holding her own against Red Hat." Chazz pointed out.
"Do your best Dark Magician Girl!" Syrus and the crowd cheered.
"Thanks everyone!" She said as she waved at them. "I end my turn here." DMG ends her turn.
Hand 2
"This is actually fun. I won't be pushed around though. Boku no Turn! Draw!" Red Hat draws.
Hand 5
"I play the spell Pot of Greed! So I draw 2 cards." Red Hat draws his cards and smiles. "I play the spell card Foolish Burial! I send a monster from my deck to the graveyard. I chose Dark Magician of Chaos. Now I banish him and D.D Warrior Lady to special summon Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning! (Atk: 3000 Def: 2500)" The chaos warrior emerges onto the field.
"Another chaos monster?" Someone in the crowd asked.
"Just how tough is this Slifer Red?" An Obelisk Blue girl asked.
"Now I'm not done. I play my face down Return From the Different Dimension! I pay half my LP to special summon as many as my banished monsters as possible, but they get banished during the end phase!" The monsters that returned was D.D Warrior Lady and Dark Magician of Chaos.
Red Hat: 3700 - 1850 LP
"Now DMOC effect, I get to add back a spell from my graveyard. So I add back Pot of Greed. I'll go ahead and activate it once more!" Red Hat draws his cards. "Now I summon Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer in attack mode! (Atk: 1800 Def: 700)" A dark monk like man appeared on the field.
"No need to worry right? It can't be all bad." Syrus said.
"Wrong Syrus. Dark Magician of Chaos has another effect. If it destroys a monster in battle it gets banished, Black Luster Soldier Ennoy of the Beginning can attack twice if it destroys a monster in battle, D.D Warrior Lady can banish any monster it battles, and Lastly if Kycoo does battle battle damage, he can banish two monsters from her graveyard. Plus his other effect prevents her from banishing his or her own graveyard." Chazz corrected.
"That means... No fair!" Syrus whinned.
"DMOC attack her Magician's Valkeria! Chaos Scepter Blast!" DMOC twirls his staff before launching a powerful dark orb at said female Magician, banishing her in the process. "D.D Warrior Lady attack Dark Magician Girl!" Both Warrior and Dark Magician Girl charged at each other and slammed their weapons at eah other.
Red Hat: 1850 - 1350 LP
"It may cost me 500 LP but your Dark Magician Girl gets banished." Both monsters son disappeared from the field. "Black Luster Soldier attack her first Chaos Sorcerer! Chaos slash!" The chaos warrior charges in and slashes the first Chaos Sorcerer.
Dark Magician Girl: 6000 - 5300 LP
"Black Luster Soldier's effect, since he destroyed a monster, he can attack again. Go attack the sencond Chaos Sorcerer." BLS turns around and stabs the second Chaos Sorcerer.
Dark Magician Girl: 5300 - 4600 LP
"Now Kycoo, attack Apprentice Magician!" Said monk charges forward and punches said Magician, destroying it.
Dark Magician Girl: 4600 - 3200 LP
"Apprentice Magician effect, since he was destroyed. I get to special summon another level 2 or lower spellcaster from my deck. So I summon another Magician of Faith in facedown defense mode. (Atk: 300 Def: 400)" DMG places her monster facedown.
"Don't forget Kycoo's effect, since you took damage, I can banish two monsters from your graveyard. So both of your Chaos Sorcerers are banished." Kycoo begins a chant as a symbol appeared in DMG graveyard. Both Chaos monsters were ejected from her grave. "I set 3 cards facedown and end my turn. DMOC get's banished during the end phase because of Return from a Different Dimension." Red Hat ends his turn.
Hand 2
DMG looked at his field, and then at her hand. "Facedowns can be awfully scary. I'm a bit nervous."
"Don't be! You can do it! We're behind you!" Her fans roared, making her smile and wave at them.
"Let's see what you got. Since you managed to push me this far." stated Red Hat, giving her a rare smile.
"I'm having so much fun. This has been an exciting match!" DMG smiled.
"Back at ya. It's been so long since I've been pushed this far into a corner. Besides a few duelist that I know of." said Red Hat. 'Jaden is a real challenge when he get's serious. Zane defeated me with an OTK, something always to be proud of. Bastion always finds ways to adapt, even if he sometimes get's things wrong. Aussa locked me down and I lost. Just shows even if not everyone plays the same powerful decks as I or the pros play. At least they can make amazing plays.' Red Hat thought with a smile.
"Woah! Red Hat is smiling. I never see him smile like that." Syrus points out.
"What do you think, he's being pushed around by another duelist. That's why." replied Chazz.
"Yea, it's my turn, I draw!" DMG draws.
Hand 3
"I play the spell Pot of Greed. So I draw 2 cards." DMG draws her cards. "I play the equip spell Snatch Steal! Iequip it to your Black Luster Soldier and I gain control of it." As the equip tried to take control of BLS. Red Hat was having none of that.
"Go quick play! Mystical Space Typhoon! I use this to destroy Snatch Steal!" A Typhoon was released and destroyed the Snatch Steal equip spell.
"Wow lucky you! I flip face up my Magician of Faith to add back my Pot of Greed!" Magician of Faith was flipped as DMG added her card. "I play the spell Metamorphosis! With this I tribute Magician of Faith to special summon a fusion monster of the same level. Appear Thousand Eyes Restrict! (Atk: 0 Def: 0)" Everyone watched as the large purple mnster with tons of eyes appeared on the field. The eyes opened up and paralyze all monsters on the field.
"Woah, who would have though tht Dark Magician Girl will have that kind of monster!" Syrus said, excited.
"I use Thousand Eyes effect, I can equip one of you monsters to him and gains the stats of the absorbed monster. Also, other monsters can not change their battle positions or attack. I'll absorb your Black Luster Soldier!" Thousand Eyes, began to scuk in BLS to him, unable to move as he was paralyzed.
"Don't think so! Go quick play, Book of Moon! This card flips a monster facedown! Thousand Eyes goes facedown!" Thousand Eyes soon disappeared as it turned facedown in card form. Red Hat's monsters were now free from Thousand Eyes' paralyzis spell.
"Oh my! You're hanging on." DMG said. "Well now I tribute the facedown Thousand Eyes to summon another Dark Magician Girl! (Atk: 2000 Def: 1700)" Another copy of her appears on the field. The crowd cheered loudly at her apperence, especially Syrus.
"Alright! Another Dark Magician Girl is on the field!" Syrus exclaimed.
"Now I play Sage's Stone! Since I have Dark Magician Girl on the field. I'm allowed to special summon the Dark Magician from my deck! Appear my magician! (Atk: 2500 Def: 2100)" In a piller of light, Dark Magician appeared on the field.
"Wow! First Dark Magician Girl and now Dark Magician himself!" An Obelisk boy said.
"This is awesome!" A Ra boy cheered.
Aussa adjusted her glasses and smiled. 'Looks like Mana brought out her mentor. It's so surreal seeing both of them on the field.'
"Woah! The crowd's getting wild right now!" Syrus commented.
"And who could blame them? After all, the two most famous spellcasters are on the field at the same time." Chazz pointed out.
"I play the equip spell Magic Formula! I'll equip it to Dark Magician to give him 700 more attack points! (Atk: 2500 - 3200 Def: 2100)" Dark Magician glowed with a yellow aura.
"Then that means it's over! They will destroy BLS and Kycoo! Yeah!" Syrus cheered as most of his friends sweatdropped at his comment. But of course, the crowd cheered as well.
"Battle! Dark Magician attack his Black Luster Soldier! Dark Magic attack!" Dark Magician raised his staff and fired dark magic energy at BLS.
Red Hat: 1350 - 1150 LP
"Now Dark Magician girl attack his Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer! Dark Burning attack!" Her doppelganger raised her staff and fired a bal of pink magic energy.
Red Hat: 1150 - 950 LP
"Now I play the spell Pot of Greed again. So I draw two cards." DMG draws her cards. "I set two cards facedown and end my turn." DMG ends her turn.
Hand 0
Red Hat chuckled at this exchange of events. "I haven't been pushed into a corner in so long. This is actually fun!"
"Speak for yourself." muttered Chazz.
"I never seen Red Hat this excited." Jaden commented.
"I don't think I ever seen him like this at all." Alexis replied.
DMG smiled. "I gotta say, I've never had this much fun in my entire life."
"You and me both, it's why I'm not stopping now! Boku no Turn! Draw!" Red Hat draws.
Hand 3
"I play Dark Hole! All monsters on the field are destroyed!" A vortex appeared above the monsters and both were sucked into the black hole.
"Oh my, but since Magic Formula left the field I gain 1000 LP." DMG said.
Dark Magician Girl: 3200 - 4200 LP
"Now I play the equip spell Premature Burial! To bring back Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning! (Atk: 3000 Def: 2500)" The chaos warrior reappeared on the field.
Red Hat: 950 - 150 LP
DMG wagged her finger. "Not this time.~" She then struck a pose before activating on of her facedowns. "Go trap card, Bottomless Trap Hole! This trap banishes the monster you just summoned!" A hole opened up as BLS fell to the endless void before the hole closed.
"That may be but you forgot my facedown. Go trap Return From the Different Dimension! I pay half my LP to bring back my banished monsters! Return Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, Dark Magician of Chaos and D.D Warrior Lady! (Atk: 3000 Def: 2500) (Atk: 2800 Def: 2600) (Atk: 1500 Def: 1600)" A warmhole appeared in the sky and said monsters returned to the field.
Red Hat: 150 - 75 LP
"DMOC effect, I get to add a spell back to my hand. I choose Pot of Greed. So I'll play it once again." Red Hat draws his cards. "I tribute D.D Warrior Lady to summon Jinzo! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1500)" Jinzo appeared on the field. "Now that he's on the field. All traps are negated!"
'Drat, my Mirror Force no longer works now.' DMG thought.
"Chazz, care to explain how she'll get out of this?" Syrus asked.
"She's not going to get out of this, Sy. With Jinzo out on the field, her facedown if it's a trap is negated and can not be activated. If she tried to bait him by setting a spell, then it didn't work. All is monsters are free to attack her directly."
"But if that happens, she'll lose!"
"DON?T DO IT! WE BEG OF YOU!" The DMG fans roared.
"Not happeneing! Black Luster Soldier attack her directly! Chaos Slash!" BLS charges forward as his sword glowed of both dark and light energy and slashed DMG.
Dark Magician Girl: 4200 - 1200 LP
"DMOC end this now! Chaos Scepter Blast!" DMOC twirled his staff and fired a large ball of dark energy at DMG, depleteing her LP.
Dark Magician Girl: 1200 - 0 LP
"Aw! I really did lose!" DMG said with a smile as she got up. "But it was the best! This was fun!" DMG said as she waved at her fans.
"This was the best! This was fun! You put up a good fight!" Her fans cheered.
"That really was a happy duel, Chazz." said Syrus.
"Whatever."
"I duel roughly and I get treated as the bad guy." muttered Red Hat.
"It can't be anything like that right." Red Hat turned to see Alexis. "Besides, that was a fun duel, wasn't it."
"Besides, some girls love the bad guy." Aussa commented.
"That duel was awesome. Way to go Red Hat!" Jaden congratulated.
"Thanks Jaden."
"I'm sure she had fun too." Alexis replied as they all turned to see Dark Magician Girl still smiling and waving at her fans.
"Now, the only question is, who was that girl?" Bastion wondered.
"Not just her." Zane turned to Aussa. "But also you. You'd think we would have seen you both around."
"Maybe we're just the indoor type." Aussa quiped."Besides it's not like you interact with many people."
"Touchy."
"Well in any case, It's still the festival, s let's party!" Jaden said

Red Hat was standing at the cliff slide. Trying to relax after such a wild day. He left as soon as the gang stopped asking questions, as he refused to be questioned further. Once he was fully out of sight is when he finally relaxed. Thats is untl...
"Nice to know you're here." Red Hat turned around to see Aussa with... Dark Magician Girl?
"Hey Aussa and Dark Magician Girl?" Red Hat question.
Aussa giggled at him. "Don't tell me you haven't figgured it out by now."
"You see..." DMG took a deep breath before speaking up again. "For starters... I'm not someone cosplaying as the Dark Magician Girl. I'm actually the real deal. I'm a duel spirit."
"Just like me, she is also a duel spirit. If you got the memo, it's Duel Monsters spirit day. Us duel spirits have the opportunity to take on physical form for the day. Usually a spirit needs a lot of energy to even stay in this form for a while. Mana here came out for some fun." Aussa explained.
"It's been a while since I've been called by my old name."
'Mana huh? I see...' Red Hat thought.
"Well, as to not bombard you with questions and explainations. I wanted to give you this before I leave." DMG took out a card and gave it to Red Hat. The card in question was Dimension Fusion. "After giving me such a fantastic and fun duel. You deserve this card."
"Huh? Dimension Fusion? You sure you want to give me this card? It's been out of print for ages. Many have to rely on Return From the Different Dimension." said Red Hat, stunned at the card he was given.
"Nonsense! After that wonderful match you gave me, you earned this card." DMG insisted.
"I... thank you Dark Magician Girl. You too Aussa." Red Hat thanked.
"I didn't really do much, but thank you." Aussa smiled. "So, shawl we head back to the Red dorm."
"Sure thing, let's go Aussa." Red Hat put away his card, and began to walk back to the dorm with Aussa.
7pm
'I got to find her! I gotta if it was really her!' Syrus thought as he wondered around the slifer dorm building that night, as many students were gathered around a bonfire.
He suddenly heard some gasps and hoots and turned to see Alexis, Jasmine and Mindy posing in their Harpie costumes.
"Yeah! Check us out! HArpie Lady Sisters in the house!" Mindy announced.
"We're ready for pictures!" Jasmine added.
"Hey! I told you two that's enough!" Alexis replied.
Syrus smiled and looked up at the stars, thinking about Dark Magician Girl. 'Oh well, I guess you're gone.' He took a seat on an empty log.
From a distance, Jaden saw Syrus and noticed that he was deep in thought.
'I just want to say you made me remember how much fun dueling can be. You made us all remember, whoever you are.' He closed his eyes, smiling. "I won't forget you, Dark Magician Girl."
It was then Jaden noticed someone appear right next to Syrus in her spirit form: Dark Magician Girl.
"I won't forget you either, Sy, and I'm sure one day we'll meet up again." She replied and planted a kiss on his cheek before vanishing.
Syrus widened his eyes as he felt that kiss. He stoo up, placed a hand on his cheek where he felt the kiss and looked around. He then smiled. "Okay, time for bed! I'm starting to hallucinate!"
"Well, that makes two of us, because I
saw her too, Syrus." Jaden said walked up next to him.
"Saw who? There's noody here, don't be ridiculous, Jaden!"
"Yeah, okay, you're right. There was no one here." Jaden then noticed Red Hat and Aussa head to the other side of the dorm. "Looks like Red Hat and that girl he's hanging with will have a chat."
"Lucky him. Who would have thought he'd score a girl." Syrus replied.
Jaden then walked to the other side of the dorm only barely looking out to see Aussa and Red Hat talking.
"Despite some mishaps, I enjoyed my time here." Aussa said with a smile.
"We hung out, I gave you some delicious food and I had a fantastic duel." Red Hat replied.
"I hope you do well for yourself." Aussa adjusted her glasses as she began writing in her notepad. "After this event, I hope you turned out better. Last thing I want is for you to get into more trouble."
"I'll try not to cause trouble. Just no promises."
Aussa chuckled. "Somehow I knew you'd say that. I'll still keep my eye on you."
Red Hat rolled his eyes. "What ever you say 'mom'.
"Don't make me start nagging you. I really don't want to, troublesome Red Hat." Aussa warned and soon reverted back to her spirit form, as Red Hat held out her card.
"I should calm down more. Besides there's more to dueling then just being such an angry top duelist." Red Hat said.
"How about instead of being angry, just laugh and have a good time. It's not healthy for you to be angry." Aussa said.
"Thanks."
Red Hat heads back to his room, while starring at Aussa's card, completely oblivious to Jaden watching him with a smile. 'Ret Hat, why didn't you tell me your friend was a duel spirit. Looks like we could get along. She seems to be your guardian.' Jaden then heads back to his room with Syrus following him.
A/N: This was fun writing. Despite a lot of jokes I did with Red Hat and Aussa, I think it turned out well. I should remind people this. Because I'm not giving Red Hat various cards example Cyber Dragons, cause I'm using anime lore too. The decks that based on irl decks are much much weaker then in real life. Depending on you're preference. Having Aussa around as Red Hat's partner will occasionally appear or not at all. Same applies for the dialog. I'm not doing the Gambler episode as that had no purpose what so ever. That's all folks until next time for when we begin the final Shadow Rider. I have something special planned.
