Two Different Sides
It was early in the morning, as Red Hat was walking down the cement path leading to the academy building with Jaden, Syrus, and Chumley by his side. Red Hat though, was not feeling too happy about all of this, despite him and Jaden defeating the Shadow Riders. When the news of the Shadow Riders being defeated caught on, countless students stood on each side of the cement path, cheering and rooting for them. Many of the Slifer Reds and Ra Yellows were cheering for Red Hat. Obelisk Blues not so much other then small elements who never dueled or actually bothered to duel or meet Red Hat.
"Awesome, Jaden Yuki!"
"You finally kicked those Shadow Riders out!"
"He's too valuable to be in Slifer Red!"
"That guy in the red hat is powerful."
"Thanks!" Jaden said, waving to them. "It wasn't that big of a deal, after all!"
Syrus looked from side to side. "Huh... Everyone knows about the battle surrounding the seven spirits gates!"
"They were having a flashy battle on an island this small." Chumley replied.
'I don't even deserve this praise in the first place. I know there's more to come.' Red Hat thought, ignoring the cheers from the other students. 'I need to know something first. Only one person can help me with that.' Red Hat continues to walk to the entrence of academy building. As he entered the academy he continued to walk on, ignoring the comments of many of the students. 'I don't feel like celebrating. I just can't.'
Once Red Hat left the academy building, after obtaining multiple sandwiches to eat for breakfast today, he decides to walk to the Ra Yellow dorm and sit at the stair way. As he sat there waiting for someone, ignoring some comments from passing Ra Yellows. Red Hat began questioning his mentality over his dueling style.
'Something wrong? You usually aren't moping around like this.' Aussa said, appearing next to Red Hat, also sitting down.
Red Hat takes out his old chaos deck before responding. "It's just what that fake Blair has said before. Have I really relyed on this deck for so long, that I haven't been able to play any other deck?"
Aussa sighed, knowing he would ask something like that. 'Stagnation is what you're saying. You have to understand, nothing stays the best forever. One day, there will be others and other monsters more powerful your deck can't keep up anymore.'
"Lately I can't seem to find that. I've been meaning to know something for a while now. If everyone played the same decks, would that make the game unhealthy for everyone?" He asked.
Aussa adjusted her glasses as she narrowed her eyes at him. 'You're so naive. You skills are unimaginable at times, just like the others you know. You know very well what that fake said isn't true. You don't run away and make terrible decisions. You just grown an attitude after facing opponents who don't meet your standards and expectations.'
Red Hat sat there as he listen to her words. He refused to admit there was a time he used to duel only for fun, until he decided to become more competive. Despite some questionable paths he's taken.
'There's something I want to show you later on until the time is right.' said Aussa.
"What do you mean by that?" He asked.
Aussa smiled at him. 'That's for you to figure out.' Aussa stood up as she disappeared from Red Hat's sight.
Red Hat sat there dumbfounded. 'Want to be cryptic? Fine, I'll play your game for a while.' As soon as he finished his thoughts, a certain Ra Yellow came up to him.
"There you are. Jaden and the others have been wondering where you've been." Bastion said as he walked up to Red Hat. He noticed a distain look on his face, despite his hat hiding his eyes.
"Bastion..." Red Hat got up and took out a duel disk. "Bastion duel me..."
Bastion was taken aback from his sudden request. "Mind explaining why? I have been meaning to duel you for some time now, just why right away?"
"I have to know something Bastion." Red Hat takes out one of his decks and hands it to Bastion. "Duel me with this deck Bastion. I'll be dueling with a completely different deck."
Bastion took the deck and examined it, only to be shocked at what the deck was. "Your chaos deck? But why would you want me to duel you with a deck you made?"
Red Hat got into position as he took out a different deck and placed it in his duel disk. "I want to know something Bastion. Only you can fully fulfill this request for me. I don't want to ask others for this, not even Jaden."
Bastion took out his duel disk and place the deck Red Hat gave him into the duel disk slot as he also got into position. "I don't know what the request is supposed to mean, but if you want me to duel you with this, let's see how your experement goes."
"Let's do this Bastion." Red Hat declared as they both activated their duel disks.
DUEL
Bastion: 8000 LP
Red Hat: 8000 LP
"You go first Red Hat." Bastion said.
"Very well then. I draw!" Red Hat draws.
Hand 6
"I summon Breaker the Magical warrior in attack mode! (Atk: 1600 - 1900 Def: 1000)" The spellcaster warrior appers. "His effect he gains a spell counter which boost his attack by 300. I set a facedown and end my turn." Red Hat ends his turn.
Hand 4
"Very well, it's my turn I draw." Bastion draws.
Hand 6
'If my calculations are correct, this could be a very short duel. So many possibilities one can make.' Bastion thought as he continued his turn. "I play the spell card Painful Choice! I'll pick up five cards from my deck, you get to pick one of them. I'll add the card you'll choose, then I'll send the rest to the graveyard." Bastion picks up five cards and then, five cards apeared above. Showing Red Hat the card Bastion chosed. They were D.D. Warrior Lady, Dark Magician of Chaos, Raigeki, Jinzo, and Ring of Destruction.
Red Hat narrowed his eyes as he saw the cards. 'Unless this is bait. I'll be in big trouble. Who knows what Bastion has in his hands.' He tought as he observed the possibilities. "I'll choose DMOC, Bastion."
Bastion adds DMOC to his hand, while sending the other cards he chosed to the graveyard. "I was hoping you pick that card, Red Hat."
"Huh?" Red Hat replied.
"You see, now I activate the spell Graceful Charity! I draw 3 cards then I discard 2." Bastion draws his cards and discards DMOC and Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer. "I banish the D.D. Warrior Lady and Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer from the graveyard to special summon this Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning. (Atk: 3000 Def: 2500)" The chaos warrior appears on the field.
"Not so fast I activate the Trap, Bottomless Trap Hole! This card destroys and banishes your monster!" A hole opens up beneath BLS and soon was sucked into the hole, before the hold closed up.
"Nicely done, but won't be enough. I play the spell Monster Reborn to bring back DMOC from my graveyard! (Atk: 2800 Def: 2600)" The chaos magician reappears from the graveyard. "Now for his effect, I can add back a spell from my graveyard. I choose Monster Reborn." Bastion adds back Monster Reborn bac to his hand. "Now I'll play it again to bring back Jinzo! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1500)" The sybernetic cyborg emerges on the field. "Battle, DMOC attack his Breaker the Magical Warrior!" DMOC twirled his staff and fired a large ball of dark energy at the spellcaster warrior. "Thanks to DMOC effect, he is banished instead of going to the graveyard."
Red Hat: 8000 - 7100 LP
"Now, Jinzo attack him directly! Cyber Energy Shock!" The cybernetic psychic conjured a bal of energy and launched at Red Hat.
Red Hat: 7100 - 4700 LP
"Now I set a facedown and end my turn." Bastion ends his turn.
Hand 3
"I won't be pushed around. It's my turn, I draw!" Red Hat draws.
Hand 5
"I play the spell Change of Heart! With this I take control of one of your monsters. I chose DMOC!" DMOC then came to Red Hat's side of the field. "Now I tribute him to summon Zaorg the Thunder Monarch! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1000)" The thunder monarch appears on the field. "His effect, since he was tribute summoned, I can destroy a monster on the field! So your Jinzo is destroyed!" Zaborg launched a blast of lightning and destroyed the cybernetic psychic. "Since DMOC left the field, he get's baished instead of going to the grave. Battle, Zaborg attack Bastion directly. Lightning blast!" Zaborg launches a blast of lighting, striking Bastion. Bastion covers himself from the blast.
Bastion: 8000 - 5600 LP
"Good show." Bastion commented.
"Now I set a facedown and end my turn." Red Hat ends his turn.
Hand 2
"I won't fall behind. It's my turn, I draw!" Bastion draws.
Hand 4
"I play the equip spell card Snatch Steal! With this I equip it to your monster and take control of it!" As the equip card was played, Zaborg came to Bastion's side of the field. "Now I summon Breaker the Magical Warrior in attack mode! (Atk: 1600 - 1900 Def: 1000)" Breaker appears on Bastion's field. "His effect gives him a spell counter to boost his attack points by 300. But as you know, I'm using that spell couter to destroy your facedown!" Breaker's sword glows ad fires a blast of light, destroying Red Hat's facedown. (Atk: 1900 - 1600 Def: 1000)
Red Hat covered his face from the blast. 'So much for destroying surprising him.' He thought.
"Battle, Breaker the Magical Warrior attack him directly!" Breaker charges in and swings his sword at Red Hat.
Red Hat: 4700 - 3100 LP
"Now Zaborg, attack him directly. Thuder strike!" Zaborg conjures powerful lightning ad launches it at Red Hat. The blast knocked Red Hat back as he got back on his feet.
Red Hat: 3100 - 700 LP
"With that, I end my turn." Bastion ends his turn.
Hand 2
"I won't let you push me around. It's my turn I draw!"
Hand 3
"Snatch Steal's second effect. During your standby phase, you gain 1000 LP." Bastion pointed out.
Red Hat: 700 - 1700 LP
"I play the spell Pot of Greed. So I draw 2 more cards." Red Hat draws his cards. "I play the spell Smashing Ground! This card destroys a monster with the highest defense points. Since Breaker and Zaborg have the same defense points. I can choose which moster to destroy. I chose to destroy Breaker the Magical Warrior!" A large fist came down from the sky and smashed Breaker, destroying him.
"Why would you chose to destroy him and not Zaborg?" Bastion questioned.
"You'll find out. I summon Shining Angel in attack mode! (Atk: 1400 Def: 1100)" A male angel showed himself onto the field. "Now I play the spell Creature Swap! Now we get to chose which monsters we swap. Since we only have one option, we swtich monsters!" Shining Angel and Zaborg switch sides. "Battle, Zaborg attack Shiing Angel!" Zaborg launches a blast of lightning destroying the angel.
Bastion: 5400 - 4300 LP
"Shining Angel's effect, since he was destroyed in battle I get to special summon a light monster from my deck with 1500 or less attack points. Since Shinning Angel was my monster and was sent to my grave I get to summon the monster. So I summon, D.D. Warrior Lady in attack mode! (Atk: 1500 Def: 1600)" The different dimension lady warrior appears on his field. "It still the battle phase. D.D. Warrior Lady attack Bastion directly!" D.D. Warrior Lady charges in and attacks Bastion with her weapon.
Bastion: 4300 - 2800 LP
"I set one card facedown and end my turn." Red Hat ends his turn.
Hand 1
"I'm enjoying this quite a bit. My turn, I draw." Bastion draws.
Hand 3
"I play my Pot of Greed. So I draw 2 cards." Bastion draws his cards. "Now I play the spell card Dark Hole to destroy all monsters on the field." A black hole appears above the field. Both the monarxh and D.D. Warrior Lady were sucked in and destroyed. "Now I play the equip spell Premature Burial, by paying 800 LP I can special summon a monster from my graveyard and equip it to this card. I choose to revive Jinzo." Bastion explained as the card was played.
Bastion: 2800 - 2000 LP
"Don't think so. Go quick play, Mystical Space Typhoon. With this I destroy your Premature Burial!" Typhoons appears and heads to the equip card and destroying it.
"Very well then. I'll summon this monster. Spirit Reaper in attack mode! (Atk: 300 Def: 200)" A shadow appears on the field, until then a reaper holding a sythe showed up from bellow. "Battle, Spirit Reaper attack him directly!" The reaper disapears and reappears behind Red Hat. It swung it's sythe at Red Hat, causing him to cry out.
Red Hat: 1700 - 1400 LP
"Don't forget his effect. When he does damage to you, you must discard 1 random card from your hand. Since you only have one card left, discard it." Red Hat discarded his last card because of Spirit Reapers effect.
'Distruping my hand. I know I use Spirit Reaper as a tech option and to maybe get rid of my opponents cards, but I know there's some reason Bastion attacked with Spirit Reaper.' Red Hat observed.
"I set one card facedown and end my turn." Bastion ends his turn.
Hand 0
"It's my turn. I draw!" Red Hat draws.
Hand 1
"Go trap!" Bastion announced, surprising Red Hat. "Crush Card Virus! By tributing my Spirit Reaper, every monster on your field and in your hand with 1500 or more attack points are destroyed! Then on the following turns, any card you draw or add you have to show me for a monster with 1500 or more attack points." Spirit Reaper soon disappeared, then a cloud of dust spread to Red Hat's field and hand, spreading the virus. Red Hat showed to Bastion the last card in his hand was Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer and was destroyed, forcing him to discard him.
"Argh... I end my turn." Red Hat ends his turn, with nothing else he can do.
Hand 0
"It all comes down to this. It's my turn I draw!" Bastion draws.
Hand 1
"I summon D.D. Warrior Lady in attack mode! (Atk: 1500 Def: 1600)" another D.D. Warrior Lady appears, this time on Bastion's field. "Battle, D.D. Warrior Lady finish him off!" The different dimension warrior charges in and slams at Red Hat, knocking down and depleting his LP.
Red Hat: 1400 - 0 LP
Red Hat gets back on his feet and deactivated his duel disk. He then turned to Bastiion. "Well, thanks for the duel Bastion."
Bastion walked up to him as he deactivated his duel disk and handed him back his deck. "Honestly, I don't understand why you wanted a duel with your deck." Bastion and Red Hat sat back down at the steps. "Mind explaining why you went through with this."
Red Hat pondered for a moment, before answering. "I wanted to see if by dueling a deck I made, would I be able to win with a much weaker deck." Red Hat took the deck he had on his duel disk slot and handed it to Bastion. "Take a look and you'll see why."
Bastion took a hold of Red Hat's other deck and glossed over it. He was impressed with what he saw. "Let me get this straight. You decided to face a me with one of your more powerful decks and using a weaker deck. I still don't understand the logic here." Bastion handed him back his deck.
"Do I really only rely on powerful cards? Is that why I steam roll everyone except Zane and perhaps Jaden?" Red Hat questioned.
Bastion shook his head at Red Hat's question. "No, that's not the case. You can have powerful cards, but if your deck is not well designed, then it won't do you much good. This also applies if one person just copies a powerful deck, but doesn't understand the in's and out's of the deck they are using. It leads to misplays and subpar board states." Bastion placed his hand on Red Hat's shoulder. "Why are you thinking about this now?"
Red Hat took a couple deep breaths to calm down, before speaking up. "You see, I want to some day head to, and make a career at the Pro Leagues once I graduate from the Academy. The thing is, I want to duel with many new decks as I want to retire my old Chaos deck. But there's nothing coming out that really intrigues me. It's why the deck I was playing was a Monarch control deck."
Bastion nodded in understanding. "That's why you went through the trouble to duel me with on your decks, instead of me dueling you with one of my decks." Bastion then stood up. "I want to show you something Red Hat. Come to my room, this may intrigue you quite a bit."
Red Hat turned around and stood up to follows Bastion to his room inside the Ra Dorm. Red Hat took a closer look inside the interior of the Ra Dorm. Before he didn't bother taking a better look. He didn't mind how it looked. In fact, it looked like a decent place to stay in. He still prefered the Slifer Red Dorm. Least there in his eyes, he could have some more piece and quiet when he sleep in. that is, until he get's interrupted.
Red Hat then stood next to Bastion near the far end of the building and walks into Bastion's room. Red Hat ignored the bit of graffiti of formulas on the walls and sat down on Bastion's bed. While Bastion sat down on his chair at his desk, as he turned on a computer he had in his room. Rat Hat layed down on the bed and stared off into the ceiling. After a while, lost in his own thoughts, Bastion spoke up after he was done doing some research.
"You might want to consider getting up. Come and take a look." Bastion said as Red Hat got up from the bed and walked to his desk. "Here I found a couple of web sites dedicated to giving information about the Pro Leagues. You don't have to wait for magazines to get information."
"Huh, interesting to say the least. Even explains the necessarry requirments to enter, even as a first timer." Red Hat replied as he looked at the computer screen.
"That's not all." Bastion said as he opened up multiple web pages. "Check this out, this should be interesting." Red Hat and Bastion took a closer look at the computer screen and checked up some information on the Pro Leagues and future tournaments. "It says here, the following cards can not be used in future santion tournaments and the Pro Leagues. Failure to comply will result in disqulification or temporary bans." Bastion read.
Red Hat took a close look at the 'ban list' for future events. "The following cards are Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, Yata-Garasu, Fibar Jar, Magical Scientist, Witch of the Black Forest, Makyura the Destructor, Sinister Serpent, Butterfly Dager - Elma, Change of Heart, Delinquent Duo, Forceful Sentry, Raigeki, Painful Choice, Harpie's Feather Duster, Imperial Order, Six Sense, Last Turn, Time Seal, and Exchange of the Spirit. Banned cards in sanctions tournaments and the Pro Leagues. It even says future cards will be banned or limited accordenly."
"So that means, you'll have all the time in the world to make more decks which don't involve those cards at Tournaments." Bastion said.
"I see... Thank you for showing me Bastion." Before Red Hat could leave the room, Bastion interrupted him.
"Just so you know, I may have defeated you. But I didn't defeat you with a deck I made. Next time, I'll duel you with a deck I made."
Red Hat chuckled at his response. "I'll be looking forward to that Bastion."
Bastion got up from his seat and followed Red Hat. "Since you need a breather... How about some dueling exercises?"
"Why not. I could use that to cool my head for a while." Red Hat replied.
Bastion smiled. "Excellent, now let's go to our usual training spot."
Down at the docks, Zane and Alexis were talking about her brother...
"So, since then, Atticus..."
"Yeah, he'll be fine now." Alexis said. "In spirit and body, he's my old big brother."
"I see, that's a relief. Now I can graduate with no regrets." Zane turned and smiled a little. "I'll graduate for Atticus, as well."
"Alexis gave him a glance. "Thanks, Zane. I thought of you, and counted on you, as a true big brother, as well. And all those times you've saved me too..."
"Now, you'll be saved by your true brother."
Alexis gives a down look and looked away.
Zane looked back out at the ocean. "Well... You might have to save Atticus..."
Alexis and Zane stare off into the ocean for a while longer in silence. After a while they soon hear some echoing from the distance. They look a look and saw Bastion and Red Hat alone at the cliffside.
"One, two, draw! One, two, draw! One, two, draw! One, two, draw!"
Zane lighty smiles, while Alexis chuckles a bit. "Looks like Red Hat and Bastion are getting along well. Didn't think I'd ever see that. Red Hat would normally never agree to doing that." Alexis pointed out.
"Guess after a while, Red Hat has finally calmed down." Zane flattly said.
Alexis almost scoffed. "Uh, yeah... guess you can say that. Guess after some time, Red Hat has finally decided to take responsibility."
"Only time will tell."
Later that same day during the sunset. Red Hat and Bastion leave the cliffside after their exercises. "You did well today." Bastio said.
"This kind of training isn't my thing, but at least I was able to clear my mind." Red Hat replied.
Bastion nodded. "Jaden and his friends would have giveen up in just a few minutes." Bastion looks away for a bit before looking back at Red Hat. "But you aren't like them are you."
Red Hat sweatdropped as he lightly chuckled. "Guess... you can say that."
"I'll see you around then." Bastion says as he begins to walk back to his dorm.
Red Hat nodded and began to walk back to his room. 'I still have to properly finish my essay. I never bothered to complete it after a while. Only at 8 pages. Wow I was lazy.' He thought as he entered his room and sat on his desk to continue his unfinished essay, before heading to bed. Not even bothering with dinner.
Later that night, Sheppard was putting away some documents into his bag, ready to leave his office. But then...
He turned to the side, his eyes scanning the room. "Again... His shadow still follows me around and won't go away." He then reached under his desk and pulled out the case that now held the 7 spirit keys. After making sure they were there., he sighed in relief. 'Even though we've driven away all of the seven Shadow Riders, at some point, they will come again.' He thought as he looked for a new hideaway for the keys. He closed the case and walked over to a nearby potted plant. He picked up the tree and placed the case under the roots and soils before putting the tree back in place.
With that, Sheppard grabbed his bag from the desk, walked towards the door, and turned off the light before leaving his office.
Later that night, Red Hat was in a deep sleep... still fully dressed and slept with his red cap on. As he slept in, his room glowed in a white light, which he was completely oblivious too. The roon flashed in a bright light, engulfing Red Hat within it. Before long, Red Hat began to wake up... Mostly from discomfort where he was lying on. As he got up, the firt thing he notuiced he was on solid dirt and not in his room. He then sat up and took a look at his surroundings. He noticed, the sky was pitch black, indicating it was night time. Although some lights were seen in various places.
"What is this is place?" He asked as he looked around. "Is this a dream?"
"If you think this is a dream, then you're so naive." Red Hat turns to the direction of the voice. It was none other then Aussa the Earth Charmer. "You think this is something normal humans can dream about, let alone interact?"
Red Hat scoffed slightly at her remark. "I get the point already. Anyway, what is this place anyway?"
Aussa adjusted her glasses before speaking up. "Follow me around. It's time to take you on a tour around this place." Aussa begins walking, insisting Red Hat to follow her. Red Hat nodded and began to follow close behind her, not wanting to get lost in this unknown realm.
A little while of walking later, Aussa and Red Hat reached a paticular place. The first thing Red Hat took noticed was statues of specific monsters. As they kept on walking, more of the monsters became familiar to him. He stopped and looked at one of the statues. This was none other then Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End. His old ace monster he promised not to use again.
"This is... the Chaos Emperor Dragon. Yet it's in stature form." Red Hat commented, as he looked at the statue in awe.
"These aren't just statues." Aussa walks up to him, also starring into the statue. "There's a meaning to this. Wonder why various monsters are like this."
"What do you mean by that?" Red Hat asked.
"Haven't you realized what this place actually is? This place is known as the Forbidden Realm. A realm where monster spirits are sealed away. Two demons we passed earlier was none other then the delinquent duo." Aussa explained and pointed to another monster statue which contained the delinquent duo.
"Forbidden Realm? Do you mean, these are real monsters that have been sealed?" Red Hat asked, now looking at many statues of various monsters.
"These monsters and few others have been sealed due to their intense power. Their power is so strong or incredibly destructive, they have been sealed away. Never to be released until further notice." Aussa explained.
"Does this have anything to do with the ban list in my world?" Red Hat questioned.
Aussa giggled at his question. "What happens in the spirit realm has no influence on the human realm. Their card form will still work... Most of the time."
"Just what do you mean by that?"
Aussa adjusted her glasses and grabbed his arm. "Come with me." Aussa takes him to a certain spot in this realm. The reach a spot where they see a shatered Pot of Greed. Aussa let his arm go as they arrived at the spot "Here's what I mean."
"Pot of Greed... it's destroyed." Red Hat noted, the pot was shattered into pieces.
"A friend of mine lost his arm by the influence of the pot. While he destroyed the spirit of the pot. It also shattered the pot. It's here to prevent a resurrection." Aussa explained with a somewhat down look.
"Did something happened to this friend of yours." Red Hat asked, attempting to lighten the mood. "Is he okay, despite what happened to him."
Aussa calmed herself down before looking back at Red Hat. "He's been doing okay. Despite living with one arm, he's adapted to living like that and admited to his mistakes."
Red Hat smiles. "I see, least he's doing well for himself."
"That's not why I brought you here though." Aussa narrows her eyes at him. "I want you to remember. What happens here doesn't influence the human realm. This is to remind you of the legacy many monsters and where the cards come from. Every card has it's own story. Their card form is not done by us, but rather the humans who research the stories."
Red Hat looks away to observe the monsters, before facing Aussa again. "I'll try to remember that Aussa. Say does this realm have anything else."
Aussa shook her head in disapproval. "I don't have the power to travel you further. You have to return to your world. I can't keep taking you here. Unless I would ask a higher being, who will disapprove my request. You have to return."
Red Hat stood there and looked at the ground pondering at what he's being told. 'If this realm does have influence on what goes on. It means I can't just use the same cards. Many even in the pros will consider me a push over. That's the last thing I want. That test duel I had with Bastion proves that.'
Aussa took notice of this. 'You're trying to hard. The spirits don't hate you. You have an attitude and a self-righteous behavior. Nothing last forever, you are very naive to believe otherwise.'
"I'll keep everything in mind. Thank you Aussa." Red Hat thanked.
"Well meet again soon." replied Aussa as she soon disappeared from site. Red Hat concentrated until he also disappeared, returning to his room. Aussa walked away further until she exited the realm she was in. A shadowy figure appeared behind her.
"Mind telling me what you and that human boy were doing there, let alone off hours?" A feminie voice asked, coming from the shadow.
Aussa didn't bother turing around, knowing who it was. "I had to show him this kind of information. He won't learn otherwise."
"You're taking a huge risk by doing that. You could get into deep trouble bringing a human to this realm. Let alone the forbidden realm without permission." The shadow figure said.
"I'll take my chances, besides..." Aussa looks up the deep night sky, starring into the moonlight. "He is no ordinary human, the same goes for a friend of him."
The shadow figure scoffed at that response. "Ask permission next time... Earth Charmer."
"No need to remind me. I know the risks..." Aussa walks off and the shadow figure disappears. Aussa continues her walk to... where ever she was going.
The following day, Red Hat woke up and got off his bed. As he took a look at his lone window, then his PDa to notice it was well into the afternoon. Red Hat chuckled, as this was yet another day where he would have no breakfast, besides the usual sandwiches. Luckily he brought back a couple of sandwiches from yesterday, which he stored at the Slifer Red's cafeteria fridge.
Red Hat decided to first adjust his new deck. A deck containing no chaos monsters or any of the previously listed banned cards he read yesterday from Bastion. He had to adjust to as many circumstances as possible. While he won't be able to use his old deck anymore, he'll keep it around just for legacy sake.
'I may retire this deck, but I won't just take it apart. I'll keep it around.' He thought as put his chaos deck back in one of his deck boxes. Red Hat then took of the cards from his desk. It was none other then Familiar Possessed - Aussa card. 'I may regret this, but I'll place you in my new deck. More so, to see if somethings go differently. Maybe even chatter during a duel... I've gone insane haven't I?' He thought as he took out a card and replaced it with Aussa. Red Hat then put away the deck into another deck box, as he took both decks and walked to the cafeteria to prepare lunch.
Red Hat was now heating up his leftover sandwiches using and out of date toaster. While it still worked, he could tell it was on it's last legs. Not that he cared for it, but he wasn't just gonna break it. Once they were finished, he began eating his sandwiches. As he was eating, his PDA began vibrating, signaling he revieved an email. Red Hat stopped eating and took a look at his PDA. The message he got was from none other then Jaden.
'Red Hat, where are you man? There's a situation at hand here. Come to the beach as fast as you can when you get this message. It's really bizarre. The spirit keys have been stolen by Chazz!' With that, the message ended. That was enough for Red Hat to lose his appetite.
"What is that idiot up to now? Already I'm not liking this. Quite frankly, I don't want to know his dumb reasoning behind this." He said, quickly finishing his lunch before exiting the Slifer Red's cafeteria and running off to his destination.
After a long while of running, Red Hat made it to the beach, where he found something surprising. Besides Jaden and the gang, he saw a currently in progress duel with Chazz and Alexis. Red Hat noticed Chazz had all seven spirit keys around his neck. Red Hat narrowed his eyes at this.
"Mind filling me in on this?" Red Hat spoke up, panting slightly from all the running.
"Not sure what you were doing during all this time, but Chazz stole the spirit keys. The reason is cause Chazz is in love, and he thinks he can win a date with Alexis by beating her in a duel. The spirik keys was just to get our attention." Bastion explained the situation. The explaination only caused Red Hat to deadpan at the entire debacle.
"Is that moron for real?" Red Hat asked.
"To make matters worse, it was Atticus who encourage Chazz to this." Zane said, face in his hand.
Red Hat then turned to where the older Rhodes was. He stood behind Chazz, wearing a Hawaiian print shirt, shorts and playing a ukilele. 'Just what kind of person Atticus really is?' Red Hat thought, as he sweat dropped at what he was witnessing.
"So you're the one known by many as the Red Hat." observed Atticus. "You need to get out and smile more. After all, a healthy brings a healthy body."
"I'm not even going to ask." replied Red Hat. He took a look at the game state the duel was currently on. Chazz has Ojama King on his side of the field. He also noticed he had a weird equip spell equip to him. 'Is that a new equip? If so it's bad. An equip that's not Premature Burial, Megamorph, and if we want to stretch it United we Stand, then it's not very good.'
Red Hat took a look at Alexis' field. She had 3 Ojamas on her field and two locked slots. Red Hat assumed, those must be Ojama Tokens as they can not be tributed for tributes. As far as he was aware Alexis had nothing to get rid of them.
Chazz: 2900 LP
Alexis: 1600 LP
"Now I activate my trap, Dramatic Crossroads!" Chazz anncounced as his facedown flipped up. "It's decision time! Now you get to choose one of the following effects, my lovely Alexis. Option number 1: You discard one random card! Option numer 2: You show your entire hand to me and then, I'm allowed to take one of your cards for myself!"
The gang, especially Red Hat were definitely confused by the second option. "Why would she do that?" Syrus asked slowly.
"Because, if Alexis really loves me, then she'll trust me and let me see her hand." Chazz explained hus bizarre sense of love-stricken logic. "She'll give me her very best card as proof of our love! Then, she and I will live happily ever after!"
Red Hat face palmed at this delusion. 'Not even Blair with her feelings towards Jaden will choose the second option. Does he not realize nobody, boy or girl is dumb enough to chose the second option. Who came up with that card!? Why does it exist!?'
Alexis growled, staring at Chazz as he began to lose it again in his delusional feelings.
"So now, make your choice." He said and held up his hand, expecting her to go for the second option.
"I hate to say it, but Chazz's love life is about to hit zero..." Atticus said as he somehow got close to the gang, sitting between everyoe. Everyone were shocked to see, how he got there without their notice.
'Like he had a chance in the first place. It's obvious Alexis shows nothing but disgust to Chazz.' Red Hat thought.
"Okay, Chazz, listen up." Alexis looked straight at him. "You're not ever gonna see my hand, you got it?"
"I'M SHOT DOWN!?" Chazz yelled in shock before collapsing.
"I can't betray dueling..." Alexis smiled and placed a hand on her chest. "I've fallen in love with dueling!"
"Whoa! Ouch, Chazz!" Atticus rushed over to Chazz. "Crash and Burn, dude!"
"If this is how it is, then by winning this duel, I'll be stealing your heart!" Chazz suddenly quickly stood up, pointing to Alexis.
Atticus, however didn't agree with him. "Dude, it's over."
Ojama Yellow appeared next to Chazz. 'Boss, you're so cool.'
Chazz ignored him. "Alexis, please choose one card from your hand and discard it."
Alexis looked at her hand for a moment before turing the cards around and shuffled her hand. 'Should I end up choosing that card, I won't have a chance at winning!' After a few seconds, she picked the card to discard, and to her relief, it wasn't the card she needed.
"I end my turn." Chazz ends his turn.
Hand 0
"My turn, I draw!" Alexis draws.
Hand 4
"Chazz, I'll show you my feelings towards dueling. First I play Pot of Greed! So I draw 2 cards." Alexis draws her cards. "Now I play the spell I just drew, Machine Angel Ritual!"
Red Hat raised an eye brow at that move. 'Since when do you play Rituals? Last I check, your entire play style was based around your fusion monster. You realize you're creating a mish mash of a deck that don't synergize with each other right?'
"Now any monster with Cyber Angel in it's name I can summon!"
"Impossible!" Chazz protested. "Your monster zones are filled up! Besides, the Ojama tokens shouldn't be able to be used tributes for a summoning!"
"Read the fine print you absolute moron!" Red Hat face palmed at Chazz's stupidity. "The tokens can not be used for tribute 'summon'. It doesn't stop them from being used as material for fusion summon, which doesn't exist yet or tributed for a ritual summon. It also does't stop them from being tributed for a special summon or tributing for paying cost like Metamorphosis or Share the Pain."
Alexis smirked. "What he just said. The restriction on the tokens, doesn't apply to ritual summoning of a monster. The ritual summoning requires it to be the exact levels, which in this case are all three Ojamas. Plus, since they're not being destroyed, I don't lose any life points! Ritual Summon, Cyber Angel - Benten in attack mode! (Atk: 1800 Def: 1500) From a glow of red light, the familiar warrior woman with two chained fans appeared. "Cyber Angel Benten, attack his Ojama King! Angel Flight Flurry!"
Chazz could only watch as the big Ojama was repeatedly fan slapped by the Cyber Angel until he shattered into pixels.
Chazz: 2900 - 1400 LP
"Now for Cyber Angel Benten's effect..." Alexis continued as her monster came back to her. "...You take damage equal to the original defense points of the monster that was destroyed in battle."
"No way! Ojama King's defense points were 3000!" He said before falling to his knees.
Chazz: 1400 - 0 LP
"I lost the duel... and I was taken down in love, too..." He lowered his head. "So much for true love... which is fine." He raised a finger. "Cuz the Chazz... always rides alone!" He shouted, rising to his feet as the waves crashed behind him. He then fell back down to his knees and sobed out loud.
'You are pathetic Chazz.' Red Hat thought.
"Alexis!" Atticus called out as he rushed over to dejected Slifer. "At least you can let him down gently."
Alexis ignored him and walked over to Chazz with a small smile. "Still be friend!"
Suddenly, the entire island started to shake violently.
"What is all this?" questioned Jaden.
"I think we know what this means." Red Hat replied. 'We need to be ready. I don't like this one bit.'
A/N: I decided on something different to pass for this chapter. More so to reduce the amount of cringe with Chazz moments. Note the "ban list" I artifically placed. Will only apply to tournaments. Not in regular duels as stated before anime doesn't care about the ban list. The duel with Bastion was so yes, he can handle other decks besides one he's constructed. Forbidden Realm as we all now is play on words for the ban list. Hidden LORE, guess which is which. Cyber Angels, I'm using the Tag Force effects, which are the anime effects. the real versions were not printed until Arc V when Arc V Alexis incornation was introduced. So don't be confused when I'm not using the real versions. Time period people. Fun fact: You can use in real life version of Cyber Angel Dakini to get rid of Raidraptor Ultimate Falcon or Apocqliphort Towers if that's the only monster on the field as the opponent must "send" to the grave as it's not optional so they can't stop it XD. That's all until next time.
