Not so Happy Summer Part 3

Morning soon came to pass in Red Hat's house hold. Despite the past events from last night. Red Hat was barely able to get a good nights sleep. Through out the night, he kept waking up or thrashing and turning in his sleep. Despite the danger being over, he couldn't help but worry for Blair.

'I have to check up on her. I also need to take her back home. The more I keep her here, the more trouble I'll be getting myself into.' He thought, slowly getting up from his couch.

As he was about to get his instant ramen from his cabenit. He notice a couple of clean cups on the side of the sink. That's was more then enough to figure out his father came home tonight.

Although, that left Red Hat in such a predicament. He couldn't keep Blair here. The last thing he needed was his father finding out he kept a young girl in his own room. He had to be careful on how he'll do things. He decided to ignore eating for the time being and check up on Blair. Right when he was about to unlock his door, he could hear a click from the other side. Blair was okay, or at least in good enough shape. As the door opened and revealed her, she looked both tired and slightly in pain.

"Ugh... Good morning, Red Hat..." Blair greeted, rubbing her eyes and made her way to the couch where she layed down.

"Blair... are you okay?" He asked worryingly.

"I'll be okay... I'm just tired and feeling a little bit of fatigue." Blair replied weakly.

Neither of them would speak for a decided to make himself some instant ramen. But first, he would boil some water using the small stove. While he had some other foods in his fridge and in the cabenits. He had very litle clue on how to cook. He decided he try and make her some breakfast. After what he put her through last night. It was the least he could do for her. Once his water started boiling and poured it onto his cup of ramen, he decided to start cooking for her. He took glance at her and noticed that she fell asleep on his couch.

'Blair... I'm sorry for putting you through all that.' He thought while taking out some eggs from his fridge. After thinking about it. He decided making her scrambled eggs, hoping he didn't mess it up.

As he was making some scrambled eggs for Blair. He began imagining possible scenarios when he returns Blair to her current home. He hoped the most trouble he'll get is unable to hang out with Blair for the remainder of the summer. The last thing he wanted to happen is her parents making false accusations. So many possible scenarios, many are worse then others. After thinking about it for a while, he decided to deal with punishment, so long as it wasn't the worst possible scenario.

While he was thinking about all the possible scenarios. He finsihed cooking the scrambled eggs for Blair. He made sure to add some salt on the eggs. Soon he served the eggs on two plates, one of them taking them to Blair and placing them on the coffee table. He gently shakes Blair to wake her up.

"Blair... wake up." He said.

Blair slowly woke up, blinking a few times before rubbing her eyes and yawned. "Good morning, Red Hat." She said, stretching her arms and legs before sitting up straight. "Is that breakfast?"

Red Hat nodded. "Yes, it's scrambled eggs. Just scrambled eggs, I didn't want to mess up cooking. I wanted to make it for you. To make up for what happened last night."

Blair's eyes widened when he said. She couldn't believe what she just heard. "You? You made breakfast? You never made breakfast before, what changed?"

"You were injured and I wanted to help you out in any way I could. So I gave you breakfast." He replied, looking away from her.

"Red Hat... thank you for breakfast." She thank and took a few bites of the scrambled ages. As it turned out she enjoyed the plain scrambled eggs she was served.

"Seems like you enjoyed what I made." Red Hat spoke up.

"Oh I like it. It's a bit bland, even with salt." She admited. "Still I appreciate it."

Red Hat sat down next to her. Not even bothering to make instant ramen for himself just yet. "Blair... are you okay to walk normally?"

Blair blinked a few times before glancing at him. "I can walk just fine. I may feel a little weak, but I'm okay."

"I'm just worried after that encounter with, Jinzo." He explained.

Both of them would remain silent for some time. Red Hat would soon begin eating his instant ramen with Blair. Despite Blair protests to eat something else besides instant ramen. He ignored her suggestions and continued to eat his instant ramen anyway. Both would continue to eat in silence for a while, until Bair broke the silence.

"Red Hat, what was that last night?" Blair asked.

"That was a duel spirit, Jinzo. Jaden fought him before, but Jinzo was summoned by a ritual by naive students before. This time though he just came out of nowhere by draining electricity from the city." He answered. 'Still, what he said was ominous. Darkness and duel energy... what did he mean by that?'

"I mean... sisn't we see duel spirits before, back during that one duel with a Shadow Rider. What was it again, Dark Scorpions?" Blair asked.

"Yes, they are monster spirits." He replied. 'Also Dark Magician Girl, but I'm not going to say that out loud.'

"Hard to believe all of this can exist. The super natural is already hard to believe." Blair said. "I mean, I had encountered plenty of super natural things, but that was cause we happened to stumble upon them."

"I don't know much about this topic." He admited. "All I know is, it's not something we should mess with."

Blair nodded. "I agree."

"Say Blair, I'll have to return you to your current home soon." Red Hat said. "You sure you're okay to walk without any issues?"

"I'll be fine, Red Hat. No need to worry. I didn't mean to worry you so much back there. I may feel a little tired and fatigue, but I'm not completely helpless." Blair replied.

"Okay then, when you're ready to leave, just tell me." Red Hat said as he contnued to eat his instant ramen.

It wouldn't be long before Blair would stay at Red Hat's home for quite a while. Red Hat made sure she was okay and suffered no further injuries. Both of them stayed inside the home for the rest of the day. Both of them finish up their breakfast, while Red Hat cleans up the place little bit. They would continue this routine for lunch and dinner, despite Red Hat's total lack of experience. Blair would chime to help him cook... somewhat. It wouldn't be long before Blair would return to Red Hat's room to rest he would remain on the couch. Mostly falling alseep on it.

It wouldn't be long before Blair would fully recover. Red Hat thought she be stuck here for much longer, but she was able to heal up quicker then he thought. She did his best to care for her, despite how little experience he had of this kind of scenario. It would soon be time for her to head back to her place. Blair would put on her boots and get her duel disk which were both in Red Hat's room. Soon both of them would leave his home, with Blair walking by Red Hat's side.

It didn't take too long for them them to leave the Satellite District and walk around at better parts around the city. Blair had fully recovered since that faitful night, so he didn't have to worry about her this time around. The only thing that really bothered him was, what would happen next.

Something about all of this disturbed him. Jinzo could have appeared any time if he so chosed, yet he appeared to ambuse him and Blair. Back when he was dueling shadow riders, he encountered a clone of her in attempt to get to him. If he didn't know any better, his enemies are trying to use her to get to him. They know she can't fight back, so they will use her to torment him. He didn't want to admit it, but when possible, he had to not only protect her, but make sure she stayed away from danger. This was no laughing matter. He couldn't afford to keep bringing her to such situations.

After some more walking, with Blair leading the way. They finally were able to make it to Blair's 'home'. In actuality, it was nothing more then a small apartment area.

"Here we are." Blair spoke up. "I live on the top floor with my parents. It's a small place."

"I see." Red Hat replied. "Looks like a great place to be in."

"It gets a bit crowded, but it's good enough for what it is." Blair explained. "Besides, it's just a rental until the end of summer vacation."

"Good to know, Blair." Red Hat said.

Before they could enter the apartment building. They were greeted by the last people Red Hat wanted to see... Blair's parents.

"Blair, where have you been?!" Her mother asked, hugging her daughter close.

"There was a black out a couple nights back! You haven't returned since then. You had us so worried, since you never came back home. We thought you been captured or worse." Her father explained.

"I'm fine, mom and dad. I stayed at a friends house when that happened." Blair assured them.

"Stayed at a friends house?" It was then they turned and saw Red Hat. Slowly trying to leave. "Hey! You're the boy in the red hat we saw the other day at that Academy!"

Red Hat froze in place the moment he was called out. "That would be me..." He turned around to face them.

"What was our daughter doing at your house?!" Her father asked angerly.

"We were walking aroound the city for a little while. Then a black out happened, and I took her to my house for safety." Red Hat admited. 'I'm not telling them about the Jinzo incident. They'll think I'm insane or believe I'm apart of a gang.'

"You could have brought her back home! Or anywhere else that was safe!" Blair's mother snapped. "Was your first idea for safety heading to your home!"

"I didn't have a choice in the matter. It was quite dangerous." Red Hat explained.

"Dangerous?" That's when Blair's father came to the realization. "Wait! Dangerous part of the city. You don't mean the Satellite District!"

"The Satellite District? You mean the side of the city known for gangs and looting?" Blair's mother glared at Red Hat. "You brought our daughter to the a very dangerous district!"

"Not my fault I live in such a side of the city." Red Hat replied, lowering his hat. "There was no other choice. That part of the city is not safe so I took her to my home. She stayed for a sleep over if you can even call it that."

Blair's father only glared daggers at Red Hat. "Why should we trust you. For all we know, you could used that as an excuse to do things to her!"

Blair blushed at the implications her father just said. 'No... Red Hat wouldn't dare do that. Even when we shared a room back at the academy, he was very aloof and would never dare take a peek or try anything.' She thought.

Red Hat now glared at Blair's father. "If you think I'm the type to take advantage of a girl in a situation, you are a fool."

"Excuse me?! Wasn't it you that kept our daughter at that academy and didn't even bother to contact us! Now we know you're from the Satellite district, and you can't be trusted!" Blair's mother snapped.

"Call me Satellite punk all you want. I'm not going to defend myself for your ammusment." Red Hat turns his back on them.

"You are not allowed to come around here again!" Blair's mother said.

"I could easily have you arrested!" Blair's father added.

"Mom, Dad, you don't have to go so far. He helped me out here." Blair protested.

"Listen Missy, you will be grounded for the rest of the summer for even considering going with a known delinquent." Her father warnedher. "As for you, come back here again and we won't hesitate to call the police."

Red Hat winced when he said that. "Fine, you won't see me again around these parts." Red Hat takes a card and tosses it to Blair. "Blair keep this card as a memento."

Blair takes the card and looks at it. Her eyes widened at what he just gave her. 'Wait...no this is your card. I can't just take it from you.' She thought.

"Give me a break. Just leave and stop causing trouble." Blair's father ordered.

"No need to tell me twice." Red Hat began walking walking away. "Blair... I hope to see you again." He waved at her while walking away.

"I... I hope to see you soon, Red Hat!" Blair called out as she was forced inside by her parents. Red Hat only glancng to look back until Blair fully disappeared from site.

Red Hat walked around city aimlessly with his hat lowered. The last thing he wanted was to cause drama between the two parties. All tht mattered to him was that Blair would stay out of harms way from now on. While he wouldn't admit it, something within him wanted her to stay by his side. Although, he couldn't figure out why. Was something wrong with him? He shoke his head, not wanting to think about it further.

After some time after time walking around aimlessly. His aimless wakling lead him to a paticular building. The building contained offically santioned Duel Fields. These santioned fields designed for people to practice and improve their duel skills. Red Hat took a look around the place and found many people of all kinds practicing dueling.

'Practicing dueling huh? I used to think we need these to practice our dueling skills. Looking back, are these really necessary now? I mean, if you want to show off some new monsters I guess.' He thought.

He witnessed a few duels here and here. More often then not, it was mostly beginners just starting out or just basic practice. He could have sworn he saw some practice duels trying to be serious matches.

'Some of these people really think it's enough for locals, let alone the pros. Yeah reight, it will take a lot more. Even with the pro leagues heavy regulation on playable cards.' He thought while observing.

Red Hat question the purpose of these sanction duel fields. You can techincally duel anywhere around the place. So long as it wasn't in such a public place and you weren't causing trouble. At least now, more people can practice dueling and testing their skills. While he had no use for these fields, since he could test decks out on his own time. If he ever wanted to duel someone, he could always find someone to practice here. In the meantime, he decided to not bother and left the area. Unbeknownst to him, four girls have noticed his pressence, but decided to leave him alone.

It wasn't long before Red Hat returned to his home. As he removed his duel disk, he layed down on his couch and took a nap. Despite wanting to sleep for the day. He couldn't properly sleep and continued to thrash about on his couch. He decied it wasn't worth it and sat up.

'You seemed troubled. Someonething on your mind?' His duel spirit friend Aussa asked, appearing sitting down with him.

"While Blair is safe and sound. I can't help but feel something. I can't quite put my finger on it." He replied.

Aussa adjusted her glasses. 'I also noticed something else. The Chaos Emperor Dragon is no longer in the deck. You gave the card away to that girl, didn't you?'

Red Hat glanced at her. "It was a memento for time we spent together. It was also cause I no longer want to use him."

'You realize that wasn't the best decision right? She can't even play it even if she wated to.' Aussa pointed out.

"I don't know a lot about spirits. I'm well aware, she can't even play the card. She should know that, considering the pro leagues ban hammer on certain cards. Chaos Emperor Dragon is outlawed in all offcial tournamnets." Red Hat reminded her.

'Let's hope so. Cause you should know, many cards have spirits, even if you or anyone for that matter, can't fully interact with them.' Aussa explained

"I find all of this very hard to believe. I won the card as a prize card from a tournament a very long time ago, before I eventually quit the tournament scene after pulling off the Yata-Lock various times, before the pros started doing that as well with different varients." Red Hat said.

'Very few cards appear as spirits, let alone listen to the user when it's drawn out. While that girl can't summon the spirit. The dragon won't be fond of her is she summons it. It's not like the Monarchs, where they lend you a small fraction of their power.' Aussa explained.

"Someday, I may understad the whole thing about monster spirits. I know a lot more thanks to you." Red Hat thanked.

'Just as a reminder. You can't fully see spirits without my help. There is more to this world then meets the eye, but you won't know until the time is right.' Aussa reminded him , before disappearing back into the spirit world.

"Tch, criptic like always. Fine, I'll figure it out... someday." He muttered, before returning to his room and continuing his old routine of napping for most of the day, mostly.

Days turned to weeks until the summer was finally over. Despite the summer being completely over. Red Hat still had a full week before it was time for him to return to Duel Academy. He hope to maybe end the week with a bang before returning to the academy. While he wasn't able to see Blair for the time being, he wasn't going to let that bother him. During that time, he has been reworking his decks. While he kept his old chaos deck for legacy purposes, minus the Chaos Emperor Dragon, he needed to work on some new strategies.

During this time, he decided to head the famous Kaiba Dome. Despite his summer coming to a close, it wouldn't stop him from watching some Pro Leagues matches on TV. Many of which were held at the Kaiba Dome. This time around he decided to go see the match in person. While he didn't always see every pro league match. A few of them involved Zane dueling other pros.

Despite only beginning his career, Zane was currently undefeated. Red Hat found this very impressive. Someday, when it was his turn to graduate. He would not only duel Zane in the pro legues, but Jaden as well. After all, Jaden also planned to head to the pro leagues right?

Right when Red Hat entered the Kaiba Dome and went to the stands. He was assulted by the loud cheers of various fans. Most of them we're cheering for Zane and waiting for him to make his apperance. Red Hat sweat dropped at all the massive cheering, he almost felt like leaving the stands. Instead he sat down as far away as he could from said fans and on the top rows. While waiting for Zane to make his apperance.

"Eh is that you, Red Hat?" A familiar voiced called out.

Red Hat turned around and was shocked to see his familiar friend. "Blair? What brings you here?"

"Why else silly. To see Zane's performance in person." Blair explained. "Besides, it's not the same feeling watching on TV, and this is my only chance to see him up front on stage."

"That's all well and good, but what would your parents think?" He asked

Blair held back from giggling. "Since when did you care about parent approval, Mr. Bad Boy?"

Red Hat dead panned at the name. "Do not call me that, thank you." He turned around to face the field. "Wouldn't your parents be suspicious that you came to the Kaiba Dome on your own? Or wouldn't they assume you be with me?"

"I didn't tell them anything. Well, I did tell them you would rather spend time in your room and not leave your house very often." Blair explained.

Red Hat mentally face palmed at that explaination. "You aren't technically wrong, but you made it imply I'm very lazy."

"Well, you do sleep a lot. Seriously, how can you sleep longer then Jaden?" Blair pointed out.

"I rather not talk about it." Red Hat simply said.

While the stadium continued to gather more and more crowds. The audience were getting ready the next big match of the season. The newcomer Zane Truesdale and another pro duelist.

"Another amazing afternoon here today, as the new rising star of the pro league. The Cyber Duelist, Zane Truesdale!" A commentator announced, then smoke appeared as Zane appeared on the field on an elevator platform.

The crowd began cheering his name. Red Hat and Blair also began cheering his name.

Then the other commentator spoke uo. "And now for the next dueling pro in the pro league. Give a applause for Max Daniels." Then smoke appeared as the man appeared on the field on a elevator platform. The man had purple spikey hair. He wore a red and white jaket, a grey under shirt with a red tie, light grey pants and black boots.

Zane looked at his opponent with a slight smile as he placed his deck into his duel disk. "Let's make this an enjoyable duel."

Max placed his deck into his duel disk as well. "For a new commer, you have quite the win streak. I'm impressed."

"Alright, let's do this, bring on." Zane simply said, activating his duel disk.

"Right back at ya." Max replied, activating his duel disk.

DUEL

Max: 8000 LP

Zane: 8000 LP

"I'll begin then. It's my turn, draw!" Max draws.

Hand 6

'Interesting hand. If this works out. I can bait him out. Got to conserve resources.' He thought as he observed his hand. "I summon Bountiful Artemis in attack mode! (Atk: 1600 Def: 1700)" A mechanical angel with large wings and a purple cape appeared. "Next up, I set two cards facedown and end my turn." Max ends his turn.

Hand 3

Red Hat observed the current situation. 'Couter Fairies huh. Can be decent in it's own right, but the deck is notorious for bricking, burning through it's resources fast, and falls to Jinzo and Royal Decree.' He tought.

"Very well it's my turn, I draw." Zane draws.

Hand 6

"Since you control a monster I can special summon Cyber Dragon in attack mode! (Atk: 2100 Def: 1600)" Cyber Dragon emerges onto the field. "Next up I play the spell card Heavy Storm! With this, both your facedowns are destroyed!" Powerful winds close in to destroy the back row.

"Go couter trap, Magic Drain! With this, your spell card is negated. You can negate it by discarding a spell." Max explained as a dark aura appeared around the spell.

"I choose not to negate the effect." Zame simply said.

"So the card is negated." The winds soon stopped as the spell was negated and destroyed. "Bountiful Artemis effect, after resolving a counter trap I get to draw one card."

"Very well, summon Cyber Phoenix in attack mode! (Atk: 1200 Def: 1600)" The cybernetic phoenix appeared on the field.

"Go counter trap, Forced Back! When you normal summon a monster, that summon is negated and returned to the hand!" An explosion occurs and the the shockwaves of the explosion forced Cyber Phoenix to disappear. "Bountiful Artemis effect, I draw one card."

'So he'll be countering my moves one by one. Then I'll have to stop him from gaining resources.' Zane thought as he continued. "Battle, Cyber Dragon attack that Bountiful Artemis! Strident Blast!" Cyber Dragon rose and let loose a stream of fire, engulfing the faiy completely.

Max: 8000 - 7500 LP

"I'll set one card facedown, that ends my turn." Zane ends his turn.

Hand 3

"Okay, it's my turn, draw!" Max draws.

Hand 6

"I set a monster then I set two cards facedown. With that I end my turn." Max ends his turn.

Hand 3

"It's the end phase, so I activate the continuous trap, Metal Reflect Slime! (Atk: 0 Def: 3000)" A liquid metalic slime appeared on the field.

'I see, and since it wasn't his turn. I can't negate it just yet.' Max thought.

"It's my turn, I draw!" Zane draws.

Hand 4

"I'll tribute the Metal Reflect Slime to tribute summon Jinzo! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1500)" Jinzo emerges onto the field.

"Argh, go counter trap, Solemn Judgment! By paying half my life points, I can negate the summon of your monster and destroy it!" Rays of holy light landed on Jinzo before burning and getting destroyed.

Max: 7500 - 3250 LP

"Huh? He negated Jinzo summoning? I didn't know you can do that." Blair noted.

"Despite what contrary to popular belief has you think, you can negate the summoning of Jinzo." Red Hat pointed out.

"Really now? I know if you bring back Jinzo with Call of the Haunted, then destroy it. It won't destroy Jinzo, since the trap was negated." Blair explained.

"That's true, however negating a summoning is different. Especially when counter traps are involved." Red Hat replied. "You see, when you negate the summoning, the summmon itself was interrupted. So any on field effects never actually triggered, since the summon was not successful. Counter traps take priority when it comes to negating summoning, unless the summoning can not be negated. It's why counter traps like Solemn Judgment and The Horn of Heaven can destroy Jinzo, while you can't Bottomless Trap Hole or Torrential Tribute, since Jinzo summon was successful. Since those cards require the summon to be successful and well... aren't counter traps interrupting the summon. Hence, Jinzo negates those traps."

Blair nodded. "Oh, now I understand."

"So you are going to keep negating huh. It's only a matter of time before you run out of resources. Battle, Cyber Dragon attack his facedown monster! Strident Blast!" Cyber Dragon let out a blast of energy at the facedown monster, which revealed to be Harvest Angel of Wisdom. (Atk: 1800 Def: 1000)

"Havest Angel effect, sicne it was destroyed in battle, I get to add a counter trap from my graveyard to my hand. I choose Solemn Judgment!" Max explains as he added his card from his graveyard.

"Very well, I end my turn here." Zane ends his turn.

Hand 3

"Okay, it's my turn, I draw!" Max draws.

Hand 5

"I'll set a monster and set three cards facedown. I end my turn with that." Max ends his turn.

Hand 1

"It's my turn, I draw." Zane draws

Hand 4

"I play the spell Pot of Greed. So I draw 2 cards." Zane draws his cards. "I play the equip spell Premature Burial! By paying 800 LP I can special summon a monster back from the graveyard. I choose to bring back Jinzo!" A small portal appears in front of Zane.

Zane: 8000 - 7200 LP

"Don't think so. Go quick play spell, Mystical Space Typhoon! With this card, your equip spell is destroyed!" A typhoon appeared and destroyed the equip card. The portal in front of Zane soon disappeared.

"If that's how it's going to be, then so be it. Cyer Dragon attack his facedown monster." Cyber Dragon let out a blast of energy at the facedown monster.

"Go counter trap, Negate Attack! Your attack is negated and your battle phase is over!" Cyber Dragon attack was blocked off. As son as the attack was stopped, a ray of light shined upon the facedown monster.

"You have that card don't you." Zane simply said.

"That's right. Since I activated a counter trap, by tributing all monsters I control, I can special summon this card! Appear, Voltanis the Adjudicator in attack mode! (Atk: 2800 Def: 1400)" The set monster disappeared and soon and the fairy like being descended from the sky and landed on Max's field. The fairy in question had more of a mechanical apperence. Was purple with clear markinks all over it's body. It had a clear orb on it's face and various orbs on top of it's purple wings and held a staff.

"Impressive monster." Zane simply commented.

"Thanks, now time for it's effect. For every monster that was tributed to bring out. I can destroy cards on your field equal the amount tributed. Since it was only one monster. Your Cyber Dragon, get's destroyed!" Voltanis readies it's staff and fires a beam at Cyber Dragon and destroying it.

"Don't think you have the advantage just yet. I set a monster and end my turn." Zane ends his turn.

Hand 3

"Okay, it's my turn, I draw!" Max draws.

Hand 1

'Dang, if only I could have draw him sooner.' Max thought as he took a look at his drawn card. "Battle, Voltanis attack his facedown monster!" Voltanis readies it's staff and launches an orb of light at the facedown monster. Revealing to be Magician of Faith. (Atk: 300 Def: 400)

"Magician of Faith's effect activates. When it's flipped, I get to add a spell card from my graveyard back to my hand. I'll choose to add Pot of Greed." Zane adds his card back.

"I'll end my turn here." Max ends his turn.

Hand 1

"Then it's my move, I draw!" Zane draws.

Hand 5

"I'll use my Pot of Greed spell again to draw 2 more cards." Zane draws his cards. "This duel is over. I play the spell card Power Bond!" Zane shows his card.

"I won't let it happen. Go counter trap Solemn Judgment! By paying half my LP, I can negate your spell card!" A ray of light shine and destroys Zane's Power Bond.

Max: 3250 - 1625 LP

Soon a shadow on Max's field began to appear.

"Another one of those monsters you have?" Zane simply asked.

"Since I negated an effect this turn, except the damage step of course, I can special summon this card. Appear Van'Dalgyon The Dark Dragon Lord! (Atk: 2800 Def: 2500)" As the shadow fades away, soon what appeared in it place was a dark purple dragon with red outlines and various blue gems on it's body. One on it's forhead, and another on it's arms. The dragon let out a mighty roar at Zane.

"Impressive monster." Zane commented.

"His effect now activates. When he's summoned, he activates one of his effects depending on what card was negated. Since I negated a spell card, you take 1500 effect damage!" The dragon let's out a blast of dark energy from it's mouth and struck Zane. Zane was not phased by the blast in the slightest.

Zane: 7200 - 5700 LP

"Like I said, this duel is over. I special summon Cyber Dragon in attack mode. (Atk: 2100 Def: 1600)" Cyber Dragon appeared on the field. "Now I summon The Light Hex -Sealed Fusion! (Atk: 1000 Def: 1600)" A bright rock with various material appears on the field. "Now I activate The Light Hex - Sealed Fusion effect, by tributing it self and my Cyber dragon, I can special summon a fusion monster that matches the materials used for at least one or more of the materials. I tribute Cyber Dragon andthe Light Hex -Sealed Fusion to special summon Cyber Twin Dragon! (Atk: 2800 Def: 2100)" The two materials disappeared into a vortex and in it's place was thw two-headed metalic dragon.

"So one of your fusions is here. How do you plan on ending the duel?" Max asked.

"You should have negated my Pot of Greed spell. Then you may have had a little time to prepare. I play the quick play spell Limiter Removal! With this Cyber Twin Dragon's attack points double! (Atk: 2800 - 5600 Def: 2100)"

"That's enough to finish me off!" gasped Max.

"So Zane was in control the entire time?" Blair asked.

"Zane baited him to burn through his counter traps. Take note Blair, never burn through your resources and negates quickly. I learned that hard way." Red Hat explained. "If Pot of Greed was negated, then depedning on what Zane had in his hand. He would be force to play defensively with Cyber Phoenix and Cyber Dragon. Thus, Max would still have one of his monstrers and Zane would have nothing else to make. That or Zane would summon Cyber Phoenix and pass for that draw 1 effect. Either way, Zane would be in a tight spot if Pot of Greed was negated. As depending on what Max would have drawn, it would change the outcome of the duel."

"Amazing..."

"Cyber Twin Dragon attack his Voltanis the Adjudicator! Double Strident Blast!" Cyber Twin Dragon launched two separate blasts of energy, both hitting Voltanis before also engulfing Max, depleting his LP.

Max: 1625 - 0 LP

As the explosion cleared, Max went down on a knee. Although he lost, he was smiling. "Heh, guess shouldn't have burned through my resources so quickly."

Zane gave him a slight smile. "You dueled well."

"And that's another win for Zane Truesdale! Zane continues to rise with no signs of slowing down!" One of the commentators spoke up.

The crowd began cheering for Zane as Max left the arena. The ones to cheer for him the loudest was his growing fan girls. Not wanting to take part in this. Red Hat got up from his seat and began to walk away from the stadium. Blair followed him close behind.

"Aren't we going to congratulate him?" Blair asked as the both of them exit the stadium and leave the place.

"Unless you want to deal with his rabid fan girls. I'd say let's not get involved." Red Hat replies as stop to glance at her.

Blair thought about it for a moment before shaking her head. "It's not worth it. I'll just anger his fans, trying to get close."

"That's right, it's better if we don't get involve." Red Hat replied.

"You two going somewhere?" A feminine voice asked from behind them

Red Hat and Blair turned around to glance at who called them. It wasn't just one girl who was there. Three others were with her as well. Red Hat recognized two of them. One of them was Bright, and the other was Yuma Myata. The other two he didn't recognize at all. The other two girls, one of them had short dark pink hair while wearing a hair band. The other girl had pale purple hair styled into twin tails. What was most noticable about her, was her red eyes.

"Eh, just who are you all?" Blair asked them

"Bright here told us about him, we didn't think he hang around with you." The girl with pink hair said. "Actually we don't know much about her at all." said girl looked like she was about to fall asleep.

"No need to be alarmed." Bright adjusted her glasses. "We should introduce ourselves first. My name is Reika Hara, but everyone just calls me Bright. Mainly cause I'm the brains around these parts and the top student in our current school."

"My name is Cherry, Nice to meet you two." The pink haired girl named Cherry said.

"My name is Wisteria. I question what Bright even sees in you." The purple haired girl named Wisteria said.

"Don't be so rude Wisteria. My name is Yuma Myata. I already met that boy in the red hat some time ago." The girl with orange brown hair named Yuma said.

"Why are you even following us? Stalker much." Red Hat asked.

"Let's not start with acusations. I've been studying you for quite some time." Bright glaced at the duo. "Let me ask just one question. Why do you hand with her of all people? It's really none of my business, but I'm curious considering your attitude."

Red Hat thought about it for a moment before responding. "Her company is enjoyable is all."

Bright narrowed her eyes at him. "Why with a late elementary school girl. I know you aren't the type to do anything of the sort. This isn't something I can just over look."

"Ha, are you so insecure you have to hang with someone much younger then you." Wisteria remarked, only for one of her twin tails to be pulled by Bright. "Ow, hey!"

"Must you act like this? I'm tired of keeping you in line." Bright said while glaring at her.

"Grr, fine I'll behave so you don't have to do that." Wisteria groaned.

Yuma giggled at her expense. "This wouldn't be happening so much if you behave more often."

Red Hat turned around, not wanting to be part of this farce. "If all you're going to be doing is wasting my time with pointless banter, I'm leaving."

"Ignoring their remarks." Bright turned to face him. "You still haven't answered my question. Why do you hang out with an elementary school girl."

Red Hat kept his back turned when she asked him. "She's actually fun to be around. I have no intention of telling you more, any further."

Bright sighed at his response. "I still find it very questionable that a Duel Academy student would hang with an elementary school girl. Since you won't explain to me your story." Bright takes out and puts on a duel disk. "I have every right to duel for it."

"Why do you care about our business anyway?" Blair asked as she narrowed her eyes at them. "He doesn't want to talk about any of this."

"I want to know why someone like him as quit the tournament scene." Bright adjusted her glasses "I also want to know, why he hangs around you. I didn't want to involve you, but now that you are defending him. That makes this suspicious."

"Well you can remain curious, cause I'm not letting you try and use us for personal gain!" Blair snapped as she took our her own duel disk and puts it on.

"You misunderstand my intentions. If this is how you're going to act, then I'll have to face you too." Bright said. "Let's make this a Tag Duel then. Wisteria..."

Wisteria turned around when she called her. "Yes, Bright?"

"Partner up with me. We are going to tag duel against them." explained Bright.

Wisteria then smirked, liking the idea of dueling them both. "Gladly." Wisteria takes out and puts on her duel disk. "Ha, get ready to lose so badly you two!"

"Well see about that." Red Hat retorted, as he put on his duel disk.

"Don't think I don't know your strategies. All of us girls watched you struggle against Bright. Now it's my turn to beat you." Wisteria said with a smirk.

Red Hat scoffed at her remark. "You really think I wouldn't learn from last time? You'd be a fool to use the same strategy."

"Oh, you are so going down! You and that little girl!" Wisteria sneered.

"Don't you dare sell me short!" Blair snapped

"If you three are done with your pointless banter. It's time we begin this duel. If we win, you two will tells all that you know." Bright explained.

"And if we win, you'll forget this ever happened and leaves us alone." replied Red Hat.

"It's a done deal." said Bright.

All four of them activated their duel disks. Yuma and Cherry stood back to spectate the duel that was about to go on. They noticed most of the audience long left the Kaiba Dome, or went to find Zane. This was the perfect opportunity for a tag duel, without attracting too much attention.

DUEL

Bright & Wisteria: 8000 LP

Blair & Red Hat: 8000 LP

"I'll begin, thank you." Bright said.

"I can live with that." Blair replied.

"Go ahead." Red Hat said. 'I'll have to make sure their back row is shut down. I will not allow their traps to go off.'

"Okay, it's my turn. I draw!" Bright draws.

Hand 6

"I set a monster, then I set five cards facedown and end my turn." Bright ends her turn.

Hand 0

'She set her entire hand. She'll just spam chain link after chain link. Blair, be careful.' Red Hat thought worryingly.

"I'll show you what I can do. It's my turn, I draw!" Blair draws.

Hand 6

"For my first move, I'll ply the spell card Nobleman of Crossout! I'll target your set monster and it get's banished!" A warrior appeared and leaped forward and sliced the facedown monster in half. As it was shown to be Des Koala.

"Tough luck from the looks of it. Since Des Koala was a flip effect monster, we both have to check our decks to see if we have more." Bright explained as both of them waled towards each other.

"Well then, let's check our decks." Blair handed Bright her deck back, after shuffling it.

Bright took a look at Blair's deck and did a throe lok at each card she had. 'A banishing deck huh? While not an issue for me. This can be troublesome. So we need to tred carefully.' She thought as she handed Blair's deck back after schuffling, finding no targets in her deck.

"Now it's my turn." Blair said as Bright handed Blair her deck. 'So many traps cards. She has so little monsters.' She thought as she continued to look through Bright's deck. 'There we go. I found the maining copies.' She took out the cards and gave them to Bright before she put them away. Blair gave back Bright's deck after shuffling.

Both of them walked back to their respective sides.

"Now where were we? Oh right, it's still my turn. I play the spell card Heavy Storm! With this card, all spells and traps are destroyed. So you'll be wide open!" Blair explains as powerful winds emerged on to the field and was about to blow away Bright's backrow.

"Not quite, I'll chain my cards in sequence!" Bright shot back.

"Wait, what?" Blair gasped.

"Ha, you didn't think Bright would just set so much and let herself get wide open!" Wisteria laughed.

'She purposely set so much for chain links.' Red Hat thought.

"Chain trap card, Secret Barrel. With this, you take 200 burn damage per card in your hand and field. You have four cards in your hand and heavy storm is on the field, so that's 1000 burn damage. Third chain, trap card Legacy of Yata-Garasu. Since I don't have a spirit monster, it's only other effect, I get to draw 1 card. Fourth chain, trap card, Accumulated Fortune. I can only activate this card as a chain link 4 or higher. It can not be activated if card or effects of the same name are used in the chain link. It's effect allows me to draw 2 cards. Fifth chain, trap card, Jar of Greed. So that's another card for me." Bright then smiles.

"That smile, I'm well aware you're planning." Blair said.

"Then you know what my last card is. Well then, sixth chain, Chain Strike! With this card, you take 400 burn damage per chain link. Since that's six chain links that's 2400 burn damage!" Many chains sprung out of the card and wrapped around Blair as flames were released. As Bright drew her cards, a barrel rolled around until it exploded in front of Blair.

Blair & Red Hat: 8000 - 7000 - 4600 LP

"Ha, you just lost almost half your life points. Maybe it's a good thing the game left behind the Battle City rules, or this would be a one sided duel!" Wisteria laughed.

"Don't you dare sell me short. This duel isn't over!" Blair shot back. "I set a monster and end my turn." Blair ends her turn.

Hand 3

"It's my turn, I draw!" Wisteria draws.

Hand 6

"I play the spell card Reasoning! Here's how it works, first you pick a level between 1 through 12. Then I excivate the top cards of my deck until I can find a monster that can be normal summoned or set. If it's the level you called, then the monster goes to the graveyard. If it's not the level you called, then I get to special summon it. The rest of the cards picked up go to the graveyard. Pick wisely." Wisteria explains with a smirk.

"I'll choose level 8." answered Blair.

"Very well then. Let's see what I can pick up." Wisteria repleid as she bagan to pick up cards from her deck. The first card she pickedup was a trap Dust Tornado. She sent it to the graveyard. Her next card was Metal Reflect Slime. Wisteria scoffed at this, losing cards she didn't want to lose yet. Her third card was finally a monster and she revealed it. "Ha, how fortunite. I just picked up the level 7 Neo-Parshath the Sky Paladin. Since he wasn't the level you called, I can special summon him! (Atk: 2300 Def: 2000)" A regal humanlike figure clothed in a mass of white feathers, with a pair of wings appeared on the field. It wore a blue and gold armor, and slo had a blue and gold shield, as well as a sword.

"Pirecing Damage... This is going to hurt." Blair muttered.

"Oh it's going to hurt litle girl. Battle, Parshath attack her facedown monster!" The fairy raised it's sword and swung it downward, sending out an arc of golden energy at the facedown. Soon was revealed to be D.D. Warrior. (Atk: 1200 Def: 1000)

"D.D. Warrior's effect, when it attacks a monster or is attacked. Both monsters are banished!" Blair said as D.D. Warrior took the blast and charged in at the sky paladin. Both monsters clashed before being sent to the different dimension.

"You still take the damage." Wisteria spat as the left over gold energy strucked Blair.

Blair & Red Hat: 4600 - 3300 LP

"I set one monster, then I'll set a facedown and end my turn." Wisteria ends her turn.

Hand 3

"I won't let you push me around. It's go time, I draw!" Red Hat draws.

Hand 6

"I play the quick play spell, Mystical Space Typhoon! Your facedown card is destroyed!" A typhoon appears and heads for the facedown.

"Chain quick play spell, Scapegoat! With this I special summon 4 sheep tokens! So much for your MST!" Wisteria spat.

"Tch, don't think that will stop me. I play the spell, Dark Hole! All monsters on the field are destroyed!" A black hole apeared on top of the field and sucked in all the sheep tokens and the facedown monster as they're were destroyed.

"Tch, so you destroyed everything. Big deal, I'll make a comeback, while you won't." Wisteria hissed.

Red Hat ignored her remark. "I play the spell Pot of Greed! So I draw 2 cards." Red Hat draws his cards. "I summon Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer in attack mode! (Atk: 1800 Def: 800)" Kycoo appears on the field. "Battle, Kycoo attack her directly!" Kycoo charges forward and slamns at Wisteria.

Bright & Wisteria: 8000 - 6200 LP

"Kycoo's effect, since you took damage, I get to banish up to two monsters in your graveyards." Red Hat smirks. "Let me guess, it was Treeborn Frog." Kycoo begins to chant and Wisteria duel disk glowed red as her monster was ejected. Revealing to be Treeborn Frog.

Wisteria growled as her monser was banished. "Grr, why you. Don't think you won. You're LP is so low."

"You think I care about LP? I set two facedowns and call it a turn." Red Hat ends his turn.

Hand 2

"It's my turn, I draw!" Bright draws.

Hand 5

"Go trap card, Trap Dustshoot!" Red Hat announced as his trap was revealed. "I can only activate this during your standby phase and if you have at least 4 cards in your hand. I get to look at your hand and if you have a monster, I get to shuffle one of them back into the deck."

"Here take a look." Bright replied as she showed her hand to Red Hat.

Red Hat took a look at her hand. He saw Secret Barrel, Cease Fire, Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, Ojama Trio and Just Deserts. Red Hat chuckled at what he saw. "I choose to return Gorz back into your deck. Since that's your only monster."

"Clever move." Bright replied as she returned her monster back into her deck and shuffled it.

'Blair, nice going by not attacking. If you have attacked, then it would have been game over.' He thought.

"So you now know my hand. Very well then, I'll just set two cards facedown and end my turn." Bright ends her turn

Hand 2

"Before you end your turn, go continuous trap card, Royal Decree! With this card, all traps, except this one are negated!" Red Hat said as he revealed his card.

"Wait, what?!" Bright cried out. 'That means all traps are useless. We have to destroy it if we have any chance. Wisteria, hope you have a way to finish this quickly.'

"Alright! Way to go, Red Hat!" Blair cheered.

"Just cause you disabled Bright's traps cards does't mean you'll win!" Wisteria hissed.

"Well see about that. It's my turn, I draw!" Blair draws.

Hand 4

"I summon D.D. Warrior Lady in attack mode! (Atk: 1500 Def: 1600)" D.D. Warrior Lady appears on the field. "Battle, D.D. Warrior Lady and Kycoo attack Bright directly!" Both monsters charged in and attacked Bright.

Bright & Wisteria: 6200 - 4400 - 2900 LP

'Normally you don't set non-quick play spells. However, this could work. I just have to prey, they don't have or draw Heavy Storm.' Blair thought as she continued. "I set two cards facedown and end my turn." Blair ends her turn.

Hand 1

"You won't get away with this. It's my turn, I draw!" Wisteria draws.

Hand 4

"Please, control your temper." Bright reminded her.

"Yeah, I get it. First I'll summon Sangan in attack mode! (Atk: 1000 Def: 600)" The three-eyed fur ball appears on the field. "Now I play the spell card Monster Gate! First up, I tribute my Sangan, then I excivate the top cards until I find a monster I can normal summon or set. I special summon it and the rest go to the graveyard. Sangan efect triggers first, so I'll add this card to my hand. I choose Marshmellon. Let's see what I can summon." Wisteria explains.

'Depending on the outcome, this can be the last turn.' Red Hat thought.

Wisteria begins to pick up cards from the top of her deck. First card was Giant Truenade. Her second card was her second Dust Tornado. Her third card was Swords of Revealing Light. Finally her forth card was Dark Magician of Chaos. "Look what I got. I special summon DMOC in attack mode! (Atk: 2800 Def: 2600)" The chaos magician appeared on the field. "Now for his effect, I get to add back a spell card from my graveyard. So I choose to add back Reasoning. I'll go ahead and activate it again. You know the drill, pick a level."

"I'll choose level 7!" Blair answered.

"Nice pick. Now let's see what I get." As Wisteria picked up her first card she revealed it. "Ha, it's none other then Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys! A level 8 monster! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1600)" The golden fire phoenix rises onto the field in a firey rage. "Now I play the spell card Metamorphosis! With this, I tribute my Sacred Phoenix to special summon a fusion monster from the extra deck of the same level. I special summon this, Gatling Dragon in attack mode! (Atk: 2600 Def: 1200)" As the Sacred Phoenix began to morph, soon a Cybernetic dragon with two Lazer galting guns appeared.

'Now I see what's she's trying to do.' Red Hat thought.

"Now I play my last spell card, Prematue Burial! By paying 800 LP I can special summon a monster in our graveyard. Return, Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1600)" The firey phoneix rises onto the field again.

Bright & Wisteria: 2900 - 2100 LP

"Three high powered monsters?" Blair questioned.

"I'm not done. I'll use Gatling Dragon's effect, I tose a coin three times. Then, I can destroy monsters equal to the ammount of heads I got. Time for some luck." Wisteria tosses her coin. Her first toss was heads. She tossed her coin again, this time landing on tails. She tossed it again, only it landed on tails. "Tch, only one heads. Still I'll destroy that D.D. Warrior Lady!" Gatling Dragon lauched a barrage of lasers from it's gatling gun straight at the warrior and destroying her.

'You wanted to get two heads, that way you'd finish us off. Maybe even three to proc Sacred Phoneix effect to heavy strom the field. I'm not going to give you that chance.' Red Hat though as he observed the backrow Blair had.

"Ha, you two had no chance. DMOC attack that Kycoo!" As the chaos magician was about to launch it's orb from it's scepter.

"Go quick play spell, Enemy Controller! I'll choose the second effect, I'll tribute our monster, then we can take control of your monster! I'll tribute Kycoo to take control of Gatling Dragon!" A controller appeared on the field. As a button combination was pressed. The wire of the cable connected to the mechanical dragon and was pulled in to Blair's side.

"Grr, why you. Fine I'll just crash and cause you damage!" Wisteria hissed.

"Control your temper, Wisertia!" Bright called out. "It's only until the end phase. Just end your battle phase."

"I'll take them down now. Besides they have nothing left. DMOC attack that Gatling Dragon!" DMOC launched it's dark orb from it's scepter and struck the machine as it was banished. "Sacred Phoenix attack the girl directly! Sacred Phoenix Flare!" The phoeix engulfs itself in flames and charged forward and slammed itself at Blair before flying away.

Blair & Red Hat: 3300 - 3100 - 700 LP

"I'll end my turn here." Wisteria ends her turn.

Hand 1

"I won't let you push me around. Boku no turn, draw!" Red Hat draws.

Hand 3

"Reveal facedown card, the equip spell Snatch Steal! With this I equip it to your monster and take control of it! I'll choose DMOC!" DMOC soon came to Red Hat's side of the field.

"Wait what!? Who sets a Snatch Steal!" Wisteria seethe in anger.

"I set the card. I didn't plan for this. It was just pure luck my card survived your turn." Blair spoke up.

"I told you to control your temper." Bright reminded her. "If you stopped your battle phase, your monster would come back then, they have to deal with two of your monsters. Depending on the outcome, we still had a chance. Tell me, was it worth it, Wisteria?" Bright glanced at her while adjusting her glasses.

Wisteria turned around with a huff.

"You may think I'll attack your phoenix with DMOC and then summon a monster with at least 1700 attack points. However, that's not what I intend to do." Red Hat spoke up. 'I don't even have a monster in my hand anyway.'

"What are you on about?" Wisteria asked.

"Ever heard of the term MST clone? Cause while I hate them, I don't like, not having backrow removal. Feather Duster is banned, MST is limited, Heavy Storm is limited, and the list goes on."

"Just get on with it." Wisteria said impatiently.

"Very well then. Here's the MST clone, the quick play spell Twister! With this, by paying 500 LP I can destroy a face up spell or trap card on the field. So I can destroy that Premature Burial! Since it will be destroyed, your monster is also destroyed." A twister emerged and destroyed the equip card. The Sacred Phoenix soon fell into the void.

Blair & Red Hat: 700 - 200 LP

"Wait what!? You played an MST clone?" Wisteria asked.

"Sometimes you have to make compromises." Red Hat spoke up.

"You normally never play cards like that. You changed how you deck build, didn't you?" Bright spoke up.

"Guess you can say that. Well then, time to end this duel. DMOC attack Wisteria direclty! Chaos Scepter Blast!" The chaos magician twirled his staff and launched a dark orb of energy at Wisteria, depleteing both of their LP.

Bright & Wisteria: 2200 - 0 LP

Bright and Wisteria went to their knees after their life points were depleted. Bright removed her glasses and glanced at the duo before putting them back on.

"Woah, Bright actually lost." Yuma commented.

"Wisteria needs to calm down." Cherry spoke up. "Seriously, she sometimes reminds me of Kami from school."

"Do not compare me to that spoiled rich girl." Wisteria hissed as she stood up.

"So we win. Now as promised, you will leave us alone." Red Hat spoke up.

"A deal is a deal." Bright replied as she stood up. "We'll leave you two alone, however." Bright adjusted her glasses before glancing back at them. "Don't think I won't someday figure out your secrets, Red Hat. I won't put my nose where it doesn't belong, for now. Don't misunderstand, I'm not what you are trying to claim."

"Believe me, Bright wouldn't stick her nose in someone's business without reason." Yuma said. "She just likes to make sure everything is in order and no trouble is caused. Sometimes she does take things a bit too far, but she means well."

"She's Class Rep in our school. So she takes her duties seriously." Cherry added.

"So I see." Red Hat took one good look at them. "You girls are middle school students, right?"

"It's almost time to prepare for our final year." answered Bright. "Once we graduate middle school, us four are heading to Duel Academy. The rest is up to you to figure out."

"Very well then." Red hat lightly chuckled. "Who knows, we have competition in the following year."

Bright gave him a slight smile. "Well see about that. Just don't slack off on your chores."

"I'll beat you next time! For now, we're out of here!" Wisertia walks off, with Bright and the others following behind her.

Yuma turned around to glanced at Red Hat. "We'll make sure she's in a better mood. Despite the rumors say, you aren't such a bad guy. Not sure what they are talking about." Yuma said before catching up to the other girls.

"So what do you think of him, Bright?" Cherry asked.

"He seems like a good person, despite his living arrangements." Bright replied.

"You never did tel us where he lives though." Yuma pointed out.

"It's best I don't mention it. Last thing we want is causing drama." Bright said.

'Wonder why she's so interested in that guy with the red hat. He never even told us his name. What's his deal with that elementary school girl anyway?' Wisteria thought, having calmed down from her tantrum.

As all the girls left and were out of sight. Red hat and Blair also walked away and headed to the park, not too far from their current location. When they got there it was quite packed, although most of the people at the park today was children. Red Hat paid no mind to them as he sat down with Blair on the same spot they're always sat. Under one of the many trees at the park.

"That was werid don't you think, Red Hat?" Blair asked. "Who were those girls anyway? Friends of yours?"

"Hardly..." relied Red Hat. "I met two of them when I was at a local tournament. Two of them being Yuma Miyata and Bright herself. The other two, Cherry and Wisteria. I never met them until today."

"You met them at a local tournament? How did it turn out?" asked Blair.

"Made it to the final round. My opponent was Bright, despite the efforts I lost to her by burn damage. Yuma I took out in the first round. My guess, all four of them entered, but Cherry and Wisteria where knocked out by different opponents. Didn't check, since I wasn't paying attention at the time." Red Hat explained.

"I think I get it." said Blair. "Although, what does that girl Bright want from you?"

"I have yet to figure out what she even wants. According to her friends, she class rep at their school, so she wants to keep order. Although there's a limit to how one should approach said things."

Blair nodded. "So long as you stay away from trouble it shouldn't matter right?"

"Guess so." Red Hat nodded. As he was about to leave.

"Red Hat, wait!" Blair called out. "I have something to give to you." Blair reached into her pocket and took out a card. "This is for you."

As Blair handed him the card, he toot a good look at it. It was none other then the card he gave her before. "No Blair, keep the card." Red Hat declined her gift and returned it back.

"But why? This is your ace card. I can't just take it from you!" Blair protested.

"Blair, I long decided to stop using him. It's a memento for all the time we spent." Red Hat replied. "I want you to keep it. We may see each other again someday." As Red Hat turned around. "I enjoyed our time together. You also improved so much since last time. Thank you." Red Hat walked away from her and waved at her.

Blair watched as Red Hat walked away. She took one last look at the card he gave her, Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End. She slightly narrowed her eyes. That's when she finally realized what she wanted to do.

'I'm coming back to Duel Academy. Once I graduate elementary school, I'll make sure I get accepted to Duel Academy. It may be tough, but love finds a way.' Blair thought as she walked the other direction.

'I need to start studying now, if I want to skip grades. I'll come for you Jaden, and you too Red Hat. This card you gave is a sign you believe in me, not just a memento.' Blair then began running back to her home.

Meanwhile Red Hat walked on through out the city. While he didn't mind leaving Blair behind, something within him didn't want to admit it. He enjyed her company, in spite of all the trouble she causes him. 'Someday, well meet again. I'm sure of it. Even if it's the weridest circumstances.' He thought and walked back to his home.

A/N: This will be the last chapter of this three part mini series. Hope you enjoyed it. These will be given some insite on what's to come much later on. Next Time we begin season 2. I'm not looking forward to it. Season 2 has such a lack of direction, I'll skip a lot of filler. I will use this time to show case the Tag Force origianl characters. I think this would be good time as any to show case them. Not all of them will appear as I don't want to bloat this fanfic with an already huge cast. The first 4 Tag Force girls introduced, will appear much later on. I have no plans for Kami beyond cameos. Someone else is already writing about her, so there's very little I can add.

This chapter was also to place some more focus on both Blair and Red Hat. In the anime, Blair just comes back from completely out of nowhere. It's implied she snuck in, but ever clarified. Also supposidly she graduated elementary school and skipped grades. It's never adressed again after that. Here though, she's given more of a reason to return and try her best to come to Duel Academy once again. Blair's potential was wasted in the anime, so I want fix that by actually givig her focus, while also adapting some Tag Force related stories. Anyway, that's all for now. See you next time.
