Today was the day of the concert. Kim was beyond excited for the concert and Adam was just happy to see her happy. He had been called out early for a crime scene leaving Kim to get two kids ready for the day. They had a really good rhythm going as a family so it wasn't too difficult getting both kids up and ready. She did however run out of time to eat before leaving for work. She knew she would need to grab something on the way but knew it wouldn't be healthy. But at least it was something. She entered the district with her breakfast in hand. Platt noticed her coming in. "Burgess! You're upstairs today!" She pointed to the stairs as Kim headed to the gate. As she stepped into the bullpen she saw everyone working hard on the current case.

"Morning! Where am I needed?" Kim smiled looking around. "Good morning! We need you to help going over the financials. You have a knack for that so grab a desk and here's the file." Voight handed her the files as she put her things at the first available desk. "And before you ask you will be out at normal time today. I know you two have plans." He smirked at her as he walked towards his office again. "Hey darling. Running late this morning?" Adam pointed to the fast food. "Yeah a little bit. But also my meds made me nauseous this morning so I held off eating till it settled. But I'm good now. Not the healthiest thing on the planet but got to eat." She smiled kissing him quick before getting to work. Adam kept an eye on her during her shift hoping she wasn't getting sick.

He saw her taking pages of notes as she study all the financials in front of her. He saw her eyes squinting, her tongue sticking out just a little. He took a photo loving how adorable she looked. "Guys let's order some lunch. It's been a long night and I'm sure you all are hungry." Voight let them all take a quick break to order something to eat. Adam placed a separate order for extra things to keep Kim happy during her shift. They kept working till lunch was delivered. They all moved to the break room to eat lunch and take a breather from the case. "Voight said you guys have plans tonight. What are you guys doing?" Kevin asked since he hadn't heard before. "We have a concert tonight. Adam got me tickets to see Janet Jackson for Christmas. I'm so excited!" Kim was bouncing in her seat.

"You love Janet Jackson! You are going to have so much fun!" Erin was excited for Kim. "After Allie told me about Kim's favorite song I knew I had to get her concert tickets. She inadvertently gave me an idea for the perfect gift for Kim." He smiled wrapping his arm around her. "I'm not sure I even know your favorite song. What is it?" Erin asked almost shocked she didn't know. "Can I play it for them?" Adam asked Kim knowing it was highly personal. Kim nodded. Adam pulled out his phone to find the song before playing it for the team. He held her the whole time while her tears soaked through his shirt. The team looked at her having no idea what to say. Adam helped dry her tears before he loosened his hold. They saw Erin's face and laughed slightly since she too had tears in her eyes.

"Literally never heard that song before Allie mentioned it during a dance party. Kim said it's like 30 years old but it's just perfect to explain how we both felt all those years apart." Adam hugged her tight again. "Yeah that's pretty perfect." Erin agreed. "We will have to listen to that album as we head to the show. It's great!" Kim smiled. "Wait 30 years old. Is that the one where is naked on the album cover with just her hands covering her breasts?" Dawson asked. "Yes! Such a great album! Love it!" Kim smiled. Adam just smiled loving how happy she was in this moment. "Alright let's finish this case. I need a nap before tonight!" Adam winked helping her up glad she had kept both breakfast and lunch down. With no hint of nausea.

"I'm gonna show Voight what I found." Kim grabbed all her notes with evidence for the case. "Okay. Please take a water with you. You had too much caffeine this morning already." He had seen her large iced tea when she rolled in that morning. "Sorry but you are right I need more water." Kim smiled grabbing a bottle as she moved into Voights office. "Okay so things aren't adding up. More money going out, then coming in. Houses, cars don't align with how much they make. So I'm not sure exactly what happening but I know it's all wrong." Kim handed him a totals sheet with what's coming in and what goes out clearly showing its way off. "Huh. Interesting. No trusts, no inheritance, sold stocks?" He asked. "None that I could find. And if I had found any of that then we would have more issues since it wasn't claimed on their taxes. Clearly something is happening under the table." Kim knew he got what she was saying. "Okay we keep digging." He dismissed her. Kim heads back to her desk drinking her water as she went.

Several hours went by before they had a viable lead. The team headed out leaving Kim alone with her snacks. She worked on her paperwork trying to get it done ahead of time. It also prevented her from worrying while the team was out. They returned an hour later with the suspect in cuffs and d the team was all okay. Kim sighed in relief. It was never easy watching your friends run into danger but watching it while pregnant was worse. Kim finished up her paperwork and headed out to get Riley from daycare. Allie was getting picked up by Eric so it was easier to manage. Riley was very excited to see Kim and was even more excited for a sleepover at grandmas. The kids always had fun with their grandparents whether it be Kim's or Adam's parents. As soon as they got home Riley ran off to play with the cat while Kim cleaned out his lunch box and back pack. It was always full of art projects and things they learned in school. Kim kept all of it so the kids had it for the future to look back on.

After that was finished she headed up the stairs to pack Riley a bag for overnight. He didn't need much but Kim always planned an extra outfit and extra Jammie's just in case. She lived by the motto better to be over prepared than not prepared at all. It drove most people crazy but it helped her to manage the underlying anxiety. It was quick work before she was downstairs playing with Riley. They had just about an hour before they needed to head out so they played games till it was time to leave. Riley loved having one on one time with his parents. He had really thrived under a mother's attention. And the couple never wanted the kids to feel left behind so times like these were important. Adam had gotten home just in time to take a Riley to Kim's mom for the night. They decided to all go together in case Eric dropped Allie off early.

It wasn't the case but they still got to say good night to Riley before heading home. As they arrived home Kim called Eric so they could talk to Allie as the concert would be going on during her bedtime. She told them to have fun and to make a video if Kim's song was played. Allie was definitely a trip and they loved it. The couple now alone were just enjoying a simple dinner before they headed out. Neither dressing up for the concert. They just wanted to be comfortable. Especially Kim since her pants were getting tight now. "So how are you feeling?" Adam asked. He had been worried all day about her. "I'm good. Why?" Kim was confused about why he was asking. "Well because you are pregnant and admitted to not feeling well this morning. What's going on Kim?" He felt something was going on but he couldn't figure it out. "It's nothing really. Just happens sometimes when I drink too much tea on an empty stomach. And I probably had too much tea before I left this morning. I was tired this morning when I got up. I didn't sleep great last night." Kim shrugged a bit. "Why didn't you sleep well? Did you have a nightmare?" Now he was concerned.

"No nightmare. Just wicked heartburn after you left. Nothing was working. I finally propped myself up, ate some crackers that surprisingly worked better than the antacids. So I have them next to the bed now just in case. It happened last time too but didn't start till month 6 I think." This wasn't new to her but it was for him and she should have talked about it sooner. "Hey I'm sorry you lost sleep because of it. But you have to tell me these things. I could have easily had one of my parents over to help out so it was easier on you. And I know you would hate that but you can't not eat and you can't drink all that tea if it's gonna make you sick. Just try to work with me on this, okay?" He watched her nod with a sad face like she had disappointed him. "I'm not upset. I was worried. Watching you eat fried chicken on a biscuit with hash browns at 8am was very concerning. You never eat like that." He paused making sure she was looking at him. "I think you will be upstairs all next week. Antonio has a family vacation. So I will stock the fridge at work with lots of healthy things for you to eat throughout the day but also in case you miss breakfast again. Okay?" He watched her smile wide. "There is the smile I love. Now come on let's get cleaned up and head out." He helped her up and they cleaned up their plates.

They then cleaned up the kitchen before heading out to the concert. They made sure to take Kim's car so they could listen to the album on the way to the concert. It was the first time Adam had heard most of the songs but he realized he knew a few and was dancing along in his seat as he drove. The couple was in a great mood heading into the show. Inside the arena the couple walked closed to each other the whole time. It was very crowded and Adam wanted no one bumping into Kim or her belly. They made it to their seats with no issues other than the crowd. Kim's excitement was boiling over and Adam was just taking pictures sending them out in the group chat. Very few people got to see her this happy and child like to it was treat for sure. As they waited they talked about songs that Kim hoped were played and Adam just listened to her. He really wasn't a big fan. Sure he could listen to it but he had never gone out if his way to listen to her music. Though it might change after hearing the music in the car.

The show started with an opening act which just so happened to be Lil Kim. Kind of fitting but also cool to listen to. When the main show started Kim was literally bursting at the seams. She was on her feet, dancing to the music and singing her heart out. Adam loved every second of it. He took several videos sending one with the caption, 'the long time deep buried 13 year old Kim'. She might not stay free for long but tonight she was free and happy. This is what he always wanted for her. He even got up and danced with her a few times knowing it would make her happy. It also made him extremely happy that she danced the whole 2 1/2 hours singing along the entire time. She was disappointed her song wasn't performed but she still loved every minute of it. She was glowing with happiness as the show ended.

They hung out a bit longer waiting for some of the people to leave before they started to head out. Traffic would be a nightmare so it made sense to wait a bit. "What did you think of the concert?" Kim asked knowing this wasn't really his type of music. "Honestly I really enjoyed. Maybe because you were shining so bright but it was good. The energy was good, the dancing was good. I'd go again with you." He knew that would make her happy. "Good to know. I'm happy we did this. It's nice just having time together. With no crazy kids running around or crazy jobs we run after. Right now I feel good." She smiled leaning up to kiss him. "We should go then. Enjoy the empty house while we can." He winked taking her hand and leading her to the main concourse. He held her close with his hand resting on her belly the whole time. He loved touching it but this was more protecting it than anything.

They got back to the car and Kim started playing Janet Jackson again wanting to at least her song in the car before they got home. Again the couple rocked out in the car on the way home. It had been a fun night and one that needed to be repeated. It was almost strange coming home to an empty house but they enjoyed it. Adam took care of Tiger quickly before the couple heading to their room closing the door behind them. Adam knew Kim's hormones had been all over the place lately. She had been super moody most days but she was always in the mood, more so now than ever. So the house to themselves was a very welcomed change for the couple. Neither having to worry about the kids walking in or worrying about waking them if they got too loud.

Kim took control setting the pace by removing his shirt quickly throwing it to the floor grinning madly seeing the abs she loved so much. Her fingers caressing them on the way to removing his jeans. He kicked them behind him before he started to remove her layers. She always ran a bit cooler so she always layered her tops to help stay warm. He removed the first two in one shot. Loving the bra she had on. He hadn't even realized she was wearing red before this moment. And he loved her in red. It always brought him back to the first day they met. He pulled her pants down next which was fairly easy as it was leggings. He looked up to see it was a matching set and one he hadn't seen before. He all but growled seeing her before him. "Did you buy this for tonight?" He wondered running his fingers over her body. "Not really but I needed new bras so I figured I would some new panties too. I take it you approve?" She asked already knowing the answer. "Oh hell ya!" He kissed her hard, almost possessive letting her know just how he felt about her outfit.

With her arms wrapped around his neck he picked her up and carried her to their bed. He dropped her watching her bounce before climbing over her. He watched the wander flash over her eyes as it turned to pure excitement. He roughly moved her breast from the confines on the bra but never removed it. Watching her dancing all night had bed torture he needed her. His mouth diving right in to suck her breasts. Kim moaning loudly loving this rougher side. She was all for it with her how crazy her hormones had been. She hissed loudly as he bit her erect nipple before moving to the other breast. He could feel her squirming under him. Luckily he needed it just as bad. He moved her legs apart looking up once more seeing nothing but need in her eyes. He thrusted hard inside her filling her in one thrust. Kim sighed contently, Adam moaning happily.

Kim wrapped her legs around his waist pulling him closer to her needing him to speed it up. He took her hint and thrusted faster and harder. He knew they both needed a release and soon. But it wouldn't be the end of the night. Kim was finding it hard to do anything other than moan as he pounded into her repeatedly. Her nails digging into his shoulders trying to hold on for the ride. He felt her arching her back pushing her breasts towards his face again. He gladly took one in his mouth sucking hard causing her to orgasm hard. Screaming his name as she came. He held off, thrusting through her orgasm. Just as she started to settle he let go shoot waves of semen inside her welcoming body with a groan that probably woke the neighbors. He crashed on top of her spent from that round. Loving her hot sweaty body pressed against his. "Not sure I can move after that." Kim sighed. "Well we don't have to. We can stay here all night." He kissed her chest looking up seeing her blissfully content.

He finally got some strength to move but just move out from her body and moved closer to her face. He kissed she slowly this time savoring the moment. "I love you!" She whispered her lips barely touching his. "I love you too!" He kissed her slowly again. He saw her thinking about something. He waited for her thoughts to come together. He knows this is how she works. "I know we talked about my throat. And I know neither have any interest in grabbing it or choking. But would like to see it if maybe you can just touch it, caress it." She watched him process her words. "Sure we can try that. If that's what you would like we will try it. I don't feel like it holds us back at all but I understand why you want this." He knew this could result in a nightmare but he trusted her that she knew what she was doing.

He kept his eyes on her face the entire time as he moved his right hand up to caress her face. He slowly moved his hand down to her chin. He took a deep breath before he moves his fingers to her throat touching it gently. His fingers ghosting over the skin. "How are you doing?" He hadn't heard her voice at all. "I'm good. It feels nice but I don't feel triggered. I feel almost normal, is that a thing?" She asked with her head tilted to the side questioning. "It is a thing. And it's a thing you are allowed to feel. So I'm happy you feel normal. Normal looks pretty beautiful on you." He watched her smile brightly. "I think I need a drink before we go again." Kim smiled as she started to get up. "That works. Let's get you a drink. We can't have you getting dehydrated." He kissed her helping her get dressed slightly before heading down the stairs.

They entered the kitchen seeing Tiger coming out to see them. "Hey buddy! You want hugs?" Kim asked as Adam grabbed drinks. They both heard the loud meow so Kim lifted him up placing him on her hip like the kids. Adam watched them fondly. "Comfy buddy?" He asked seeing Tiger with his head on her shoulder. "You look comfy buddy." He made them a small snack while Kim held Tiger closer dancing slightly with him. "I think he likes that." Adam smiled. "Yeah he's purring. Place your ear on his side. It's crazy loud." She had told him before but he never did it before. She watched him lean in closely. His eyes going wide. "Wow that's nuts! I do love it through. I really think he was the perfect addition to our family." He petted his head and kissed Kim before sitting on the couch waiting for them. Kim placed Tiger down and settled next to Adam on the couch. His arm wrapped around her holding her tight.

"Erin showed me a photo of you with your childhood cat. It was after your attack. But I could see the love clear on your face. How at peace you were with him. You truly loved that cat." He felt her turning a bit to look at him. "I did love him. I still do. The love of an animal is so pure. There is no anger, no sadness, no disappointment. Just love. You want to see some photos?" Kim asked. Adam nodded so she grabbed her phone to show him. He flipped through some of the photos loving how cute he was. "I love this one!" Adam pointed. "Right? He looks like he's yelling but it was actually mid yawn. Oh this one! It's probably a year before he passed. Look how skinny he got. But he still loved to eat." She showed him a photo of the cat stretched out with his front feet on Kim trying to get her food. "Oh wow. That's crazy. It was cancer right?" He asked remembering what Erin told him.

"Yeah. Lymphoma. They think he had a tumor on his brain and caused the seizure that caused the brain damage. The light literally went out of his eyes. He could barely walk before that. It was time but it wasn't any less painful. I held him tight the whole way to the vet letting him know it was okay to go. I could barely sign the forms saying not to resuscitate. It killed me to sign that form. Even the nurses told me it was time but the doctor was giving me all the options. The nurse told me he wasn't there anymore. He would never get better. So we let him go. It hurt like hell but I knew it was for the best." She shrugged. "I can't imagine how hard it was to make that decision. But sounds like you did the right thing no matter how hard it was." They sat with the feelings before they headed back to bed. He wanted her to feel love again.

"Pure loving this round. I want to see you shine again." He whispered as he took time loving every inch of her body. This time including caressing her throat. He was hearing her mewing as his lips worked her body. The couple was in pure bliss as they came together. Both with tears of pure happiness shining in their eyes. "I love you so much!" Kim whispered breathlessly. "I love you too. Only you have ever brought me to tears." He rolled her body pressing it against his. "This right here is pure heaven." She whispered right before falling asleep in his arms. "This is heaven." He knew she wouldn't hear him but he needed to say it. He fell asleep right behind her. Loving the peace he felt with her in his arms.

The next morning he awoke first knowing Kim needed more sleep. He did too but she was pregnant and that was exhausting on her body. He allowed her to wake naturally. He watched her eye lashes fluttering, her stretching slightly before opening her eyes. "Good morning beautiful!" He whispered watching her smile. "Good morning my love." She replied leaning in for a kiss. "You slept through the night." He smiled so proud of her. "Yes I did. You know I think because I'm sleeping so well that is why this pregnancy has been better. Well that and I feel supported. I truly appreciate how much you support me." She loved this beautiful man before her. "You never have to thank me but I do appreciate that you see the effort I'm putting in. I really want you to have less on your shoulders so you can focus on growing our nugget." Adam rubbed her belly as he spoke.

"I can't wait to feel them moving." Kim smiled knowing it was a special moment. "Oh I can't wait either. It's going to be crazy exciting! I also can't wait to see the kids reaction to it. But maybe most interesting will be when they kick Tiger. I feel like he's gonna freak out in a funny way." Adam laughed thinking about it. "Yeah I think he will be confused for sure. But I'm excited about it. This is a dream for sure." She smiled thinking about it all. "So I hate to break this up but the kids will be home soon. We should start getting up." Adam looked bummed. "Yeah I hear ya. But we can still shower together." Kim smiled slyly. "Oh hell ya! Let's move!" He helped her up leading her to the shower.

The couple washed each other before getting out to get ready for the day. The kids would be home in the next 30 minutes so they didn't have much time left to just enjoy each other. Adam started to make breakfast while Kim took her medicine with water today hoping she didn't get an upset stomach again. She sat on the barstool afterwards enjoying the quietness before the kids got home. "Eat up darling." He plated a quick breakfast for them both. They finished eating and cleaned up just as the door bell rang. Adam got the door seeing the kids excited. "Morning! You guys look happy this morning!" Adam smiled wide seeing the kids. "Daddy! We had so much fun!" Allie ran inside Riley wanted to be held. "Hey buddy. Did you miss me?" He asked holding his son. "Yeah." Riley snuggled closer. Kims mom was already inside with Kim's and Allie. "I got you bud. Not going anywhere. Just a nice weekend the 4 of us." Adam watched him smile.

"Let's go see mommy buddy!" Riley cheered excited to see Kim. "Hey Ry! I missed you both so much!" Kim hugged him tight while listening to both kids talking about mile a minute. Kim mother hung out for a bit longer before heading out leaving the family to enjoy. "Alright so this whole weekend we are just going to relax. So what do you kiddos want to do today?" Adam asked sitting with them. "Can we play games?" Allie asked. "Sure I think that's a great idea." Kim smiled watching the family. "Alright kids go pick one game each." Adam watched the kids run off to get games to play. When the kids returned they get the first game to play.

It was around noon when the kids both started to crash for nap time. They were carried to bed and tucked in before heading back downstairs. "So Thursday when I had a free moment I called the church in Duck. The one that has the chapel over looking the water. They said we can get married there on that Friday. They don't normally do services during the week so it's Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. So Friday it is. Does that still work for you?" She asked watching the shock come over his face. "Yes absolutely! I think that's perfect! Might be hard with Eric there but I thinks it's a great idea.." He paused for a second thinking about something. "You know the kids can't keep a secret. Are we sure they have to be there?" He knew neither would be able to hide it for long. "That's a good point too. Are we really just going to hide that we got married till the big wedding? I kind if thought we would just make an announcement when we got back. Do you want to keep it a secret?" She wasn't sure where his head was at.

"i don't care either way. I just want to get married to the love of my life. I want our family to be officially whole. I think with the kids it would be hard to keep a secret though. So let's get married and then announce it when we get home and plan a large wedding with everyone. So if this little one is supposed to be here mid November. Then what about May next year for the wedding?" He figured that gave Kim 6 months to lose the baby give or take. "I like that idea. Plenty of time to plan and plenty of time to lose the baby fat. Good thinking." Kim wrote it down so they could start getting ideas together. "Should we just pick a date?" He asked unsure if she had a plan. "So hear me out. How about the beginning of May? With three kids and one being 6 months old I'm not sure I can honeymoon away from them. So how about we take the family to the beach for a week. Then we can go somewhere more adult only after the little one is closer to a year?" She wasn't sure how he would feel about that but she really wasn't sure she could be without the littlest one when they were that young.

"I completely understand. And agree. That works plus since you own it it's more cost effective. Which makes tons of sense." Truly I wouldn't care if we just went back there for our adult only vacation. It's really the perfect place for all of us and just us." He really was happy either way as long as they were together. "Okay Im gonna start writing down the plans we are making so it's easier later." Kim started taking notes like always needing to plan ahead. Adam just watched smiling loving how happy they were. After making a few more notes then switched to planning Riley's birthday party. Kim went straight to Party City's website to buy all the decorations, plates, cups, silverware and what not. It was easy and they could pick it up later. They picked the date and then sent out the e-vite to everyone including Eric's family. It was only right if they were truly, honestly trying to build a blended family where they all got along. In reality they were just playing nice and being the bigger people. Pizzaro was decided for food since it was easy with snacks before hand.

"I think I'm going to head to the basement to start going through Allie's old stuff that we can repurpose for the babies room. We have a crib, we have a rocker, the swing, bouncer. I have tons of clothes that can be reused. You want to help?" Kim asked knowing it needed to be done sooner or later. "Yeah let's go. I got a bunch of Ry's stuff we can reuse. Should be pretty cost effective this go around. We should have most everything we need except diapers and wipes." He shrugged. "Yeah that would be nice. I'm also sure people will buy us stuff even if we don't ask for it." Kim smiled remembering all the gifts from her baby shower. "We could make a registry just in case people want to but something? Doesn't have to be a lot just something that we like but don't need. Or essentials so we get the brands you want?" He watched her thinking about it. "Not a bad idea. I'm sure the team will do something for us too." Kim shrugged heading to the storage area.

They spent the next hour going through everything and Adam started to carry the crib parts to the babies room. Kim followed with things they would need to wash but she wasn't allowed to carry any of the bigger items. She was fine with that. But she was really just happy the room was started. "I think it's a good start. We probably just need to get a dresser and car seats. And of course the decorations to make this room special for this little one." Kim sat in the rocker looking around the room. It wasn't much in place yet but they started it and had all the other items in storage. Those wouldn't need to come up till closer to the birth. She even pulled out two older diaper bags to start hospital bags to keep in each of the cars. "Agreed. The kids should be up soon so let's get a snack started." Adam helped her up, though she didn't need it and led her downstairs. The house was still pretty quiet but it was just what Kim needed to relax from life.

As the kids came downstairs from their naps they enjoyed lunch before spending a relaxing day playing games as a family. All they cared about in that moment was their family. They didn't care about the outside world. They couldn't control it but they could control what happened here in their home. And it was perfect.
