The Duo Returns - Rematch with Aster Phoenix
It had now been ten days since Jaden and Red Hat stayed away from the dorm and the Academy building, aside from getting sandwiches and water. Both of them were currently laying down on the ground, sighing as they weren't getting anywhere with their quest.
While Red Hat had already found the two other two spirit charmers. Finding Winged Kuriboh and the last two Neo-Spacians was a different story. While he refused to tell him about his new found partners. He was concerned about their stagnent quest. Just where could those other Neo-Spacians be at? They searched everywhere around the island, while avoding the dorms. They searched the power relay, the deeper area of the forest, the lake, and even the cliffside, yet they found nothing. Just how much longer would they have to wait to find them?
Their prayers would soon be answered when a beem of light suddenly crash lands on a specific area of the volcano. Despite the crash landing and causing an explosion. Nobody around the academy was able to hear the crash landing. Only the duo was able to hear the crash landing.
'Jaden... Jaden!' A voice called out.
Jaden stood up and took a look at the crash site after his name being called out. Red Hat took notice of Jaden's behavior and took notice of the crash site. "Something is over there..." Red Hat observed. "You think it's friendly?"
"I know it is... It was caling for me." Jaden said as he began to walk to the crash site. Red Hat followed close behind him, just in case something can happen.
As they scaled the volcano once more. They noticed a large hole in the middle of the volcano. They guess, this must be where said crash site happened. Red Hat decided to stay behind.
"I'll stay behind and keep an eye on things. The rest is up to you."
"Why won't you come with me?" Jaden asked.
"If it's a Neo Spacian, then it's meant for you to meet." Red Hat assured him.
Jaden nodded. "Alright, I'll be back soon."
As Jaden enters the so called cave. Red Hat sat down and pulled up his sleeve. He narrowed his eyes as he glanced at his curse mark before pulling his sleeve down. 'One of the Neo-Spacian's already took notice of my curse mark. Last thing I want to do is cause conflict for little to no reason.' He thought and sighed.
Aussa then appeared next to him. 'Why won't you tell them? I'm sure they'll understand your situation.'
"I don't want Jaden to worry, and I don't want the other spirits to view me as an enemy." He replied. "Besides... I still don't know what this curse will entail for me, or what it actually does."
'We'll find out soon enough. You have us to help you out, so it's not like you're alone.' Aussa reminded him.
"Thanks for the help, I guess..."
Jaden walked down along the so called cave that was made by the crash landing. The passage way seemed a lot deeper then he realized at first. It didn't take long, but Jaden soon found a clearing which lead him to a dead end. A dead end where he was surrounded by a large pool of lava. After looking down, he noticed the lava started to rise and create a large wave. As the wave of lava came down. A creature appeared, covered in lava, and radiating a strong aura.
"Are you... Are you the one who called out to me?" Jaden asked the creature.
"Yes Jaden." The creature replied,revealing himself to be a black and purple humanoid scarab with black wings. "I am the Neo-Spacian of fire, Flare Scarab."
Jaden smiled. "I get it! You're a Neo-Spacian, too, just like Aqua Dolphin, Grand Mole, Dark Panther and Glow Moss! They really existed!"
Flare Scarab nodded with a smile. "That's right. We will also lend our stength to you, together with Neos. There's one last one you want to meet. Come now, let us hurry and meet our last ally." Flare Scarab glowed red and turned into a red ball of light and went to Jaden's deck.
Jaden took a look at his deck and noticed Flare Scarab's card form. He smiled at the fact he had yet another Neo-Spacian ally. However, he noticed a small red orb still floating near him. As he took a closer look, it was Flare Scarab as a spirit. He began to leave the area through the same passage Jaden came from.
"Wait for me!" Jaden called out as he followed him, trying to keep up.
Red Hat noticed one of the spirits and Jaden exited the cave and ran off to another direction. "Jaden? Where are you going?" He called and followed him to where ever he was going.
Jaden was running through the forest, following Flare Scarab to the ruins again, with Red Hat following behind him. As Flare Scarab disappeared from sight and Jaden stopped dead in his tracks. He soon felt strong winds hit him.
He looked up and saw what looked like a large humanoid woodpecker with large white wings flew down in front of him. He looked at it with a smile as it landed in front of him. "Are you the Neo-Spacian of the wind?" Jaden asked.
The woodpecker nodded. "My name is Air Hummingbird. Now, Jaden, we must save Neo Space from the light of destruction together." Air Humminngbird then turned into energy and entered his card.
Jaden took out his deck and looked through his cards. He grabbed oneof the cards that was still blank. Winged Kuriboh has yet to be found. He sighed. "Partner... Where are you?" However he got quiet when he heard a very familiar squeaking. He quickly ran back into the forest.
He followed the sound and then saw a light orbs above him. A blinding light came out of it and he had to cover his eyes since the light was so intense. Once the light died out, he removed his arm and opened his eyes. His eyes widened at what he just saw. In front of him Winged Kuriboh has shown himself and returned to Jaden.
Jaden smiled as Winged Kuriboh flew around him. "Winged Huriboh! I found you, partner!"
Red Hat soon managed to catch up to Jaden. Panting after running for quite a while. "Man, you don't let up do you?"
Jaden chuckled after seeing how tired his friend was. "Sorry about that, but guess what? I have all the Neo-Spacians and reconnected with Winged Kuriboh!" Jaden explained as he showed him the cards.
Red Hat smiled and chuckled. "So you found all of them and your partner. You know what that means?"
Jaden nodded, understanding what he means. "Yeah, it's time we return to the Red Dorm!"
"Alright, let's go! We're going to get an ear full from the others, but that's okay. Come on, follow me!" The duo run off in the opposite direction and made their way back. Now that their quest is finally completed.
Red Hat and Jaden returned to the Slifer Red Dorm, only to find out the area is deserted and they found a sign just right outside the dorm. Red Hat glared at this.
"Tomarrow morning, we will have a duel between this dorm and a representative from the academy and if this side loses, the dorm will be demolished, no two ways about it." Immediately, Red Hat punched and smashed the sign in half and tossed it out into the ocean.
"The nerve of those two! Jaden, we have to go now! Crowler and Bonaparte are at it again!"
"They're actually going to tear down the dorm?!" Jaden questioned, shocked that they were actually going through with it.
"Crowler ad Bonaparte were waiting to strike." Red Hat acknowledged. "They were hoping you and I would be gone for a while so they can strike the dorm at it's weakest point."
"So, that's where everyone is right now." Jaden observed, noticing the others were not here. "They have to be at the arena right now."
Red Hat nodded. "Let's hurry up. Depending on who Crowler or Bonaparte hired to duel. The others don't stance a chance. They're in trouble and we have to stop those two." The duo left the Red Dorm and quickly made their way to the Academy building. Hoping it wasn't too late.
A Few Hours Earlier
While Jaden and Red Hat were still in the forest. Still refusing to return to their respective dorms. The gang were doing their best to protect the dorm, except for Chazz. Bonaparte on the other hand, was making plans of his own.
Bonaparte looked at Chazz, who was walking around the main gate in his new jacket, from the window in the Chancellor's office. "It would seem that now is our chance..."
Crowler currently had to sign documents, answered irritated. "And what opportuita would that be?"
Bonaparte came over to him. "Evidemment, it is our chance to demolish the Slifer Red Dorm! Jaden Yuki has gone missing, Chazz has been acting a bit etrangement, and that delinquent who calls himself the Red Hat has also been missing. If we were to take this chance to restore the academy's reputation by doing a clean sweep of those dunces... you will also be able to end your Temporary status, Temporary Chancellor Crowler."
Crowler kept signing the documents as he answered. "Still, it is only recentemente that I have grown accustomed to signing as the Chancellor."
Bonaparte sighed. "But you are temporaire!"
Crowler then placed the final document o the pile with the singed ones and sighed. "Finally, I'm finished!"
Bonaparte then bent down and got another pile of documents for Crowler. "You can not get through these can you?"
Crowler had a horrified look on his face when he saw an equally large pile of documents to sign. "Already!"
Bonaparte glared at him. "If the 'Temporary' in 'Temporary Chancellor' is removed, you will live with three less characters to your signature!"
Crowler looked at him. "However, even without Jaden, Chazz, and that delinquent. That dorm still has Alexis Rhodes in it. And there aren't many duelists who are able to defeat her, are there?"
Bonaparte crossed his arms. "Hmm... yes, that is correct. I would daresay that she truly is a bothersome mademoi-" Bonaparte turned to face Crowler with a smirk. "There is still one duelist in this academy who is able to defeat that mademoiselle!"
Meanwhile at Sartorious' Room
Aster entered Sartorious' room. "That was fast, Aster." Sartorious said, not even bothering to face him. "The other day, I went to Duel Academy, and I then had a little interest in that academy.
Aster looked at him confused. "You went to Duel Academy?"
Sartorius shuffled his tarot cards. "Something that even I can not predict is beginning to awaken at that academy."
"Something that's impossible for you to predict?" Aster questioned.
Sartorius looked over his shoulder with a smirk. "Is something wrong, Aster?"
"I was just surprised, since this is the first time I've heard you revoke your own prediciton..."
"It's not that I have revoked my prediciton." Sartorius picked up a tarot card and looked at it. "It is that there was someone who will overcome the fate that I predicted."
"Someone overcoming fate? Who would that be?" Aster asked.
"If you are interested, you should also try going to Duel Academy once more." Sartorius insisted.
Aster narrowed his eyes. "I have no business with that academy anymore." Aster left the room, annoyed.
Aster was walking down the hallway. He remembered how he had met Sartorious for the first time at his father's funeral. He had apparently predicted his father's death and their meeting. He had told Aster that he had a great talent within him. His talent for dueling, and said that he would guide his fate for him.
Aster narrowed his eyes. 'A fate that Sartorius reveales shouls be absolute... And someone's overcoming it? Just who is it?'
His eyes widened as he heard his cell phone ringing. He took it out and answered it. "This is Aster Phoenix."
'Ah, Aster Phoenix! I finally found your work numero! Now, I have something I would like to speak to you about. Yes, the truth is...'
Aster narrowed his eyes to what the person on the other end. "If what you just told me is true?" He then ended the call and looked at the ceiling before taking his leave.
Later at Night
Alexis, Hassleberry and Chazz were looking at a sigh that had been placed outside of the dorm. Hassleberry ran inside to get Alexis, after noticing the sign earlier.
Alexis narrowed her eyes. "Tomarrow morning, we will have a duel between this dorm and a representative from the academy and if this side loses, the dorm will be demolished, no two ways about it."
Chazz chuckled. "Before long, this academy- no, the whole world will be turned white. It just isn't worth it to worry about what happens to this dorm now." he then began walking away while he laughed.
Hassleberry looked at him with a hard expression. "I wasn't expecting him to help us from the start."
Alexis sighed. "I will acceot this duel. There isn't anyone who can protect this dorm except for me."
Hassleberry got so touched that tears formed in his eyes. "Senior Alexis, you're so heroic! I just wish that the Sarge would return already. Where is he at a time like this?"
Both of them went straight to bed, so Alexis would be well rested for the duel, and Hassleberry who would be there to give her support. He also informed Bastion and Syrus about this.
It was not long until midnight now, Alexis decided to prepare herself for the duel. Hassleberry then looked up and preyed, hoping Alexis qould win this. So the dorm would still be there when Jaden returned, along with Red Hat.
Unbeknownst to them however, Aster Phoenix was air surfing towards the island before he pulled out his parachute.
Later that Night
Alexis and Hassleberry walked on the main walkway towards the main building. They stopped in front of it, waiting for the two snakes to appear along whoever Alexis would be facing. Alexis and Hassleberry then turned around when they heard Syrus voice calling out their names. They saw Bastion and Syrus coming.
"Alexis, we heard about it. Are they really going to tear down the Slifer Dorm if you lose?" Bastion asked. Alexis nodded, confirming that it was true.
They then heard someone chuckle behind Alexis and Hassleberry. They all looked in that direction and saw Crowler and Bonaparte walking towards them. "It would seem that you truly intend to fight, not even knowing just when to renoncer." Bonaparete acknowledged.
Alexis narowed her eyes at them. "I came here, just as we agreed. Who is the duelist who will battle me?"
Bonaparte chuckled. "Well, that would be..." He was interrupted by a voice that came, which he knew who it was. All of the others turned around and saw someone walking towards them. All of them were shocked when they saw who it was.
"Aster Phoenix!?"
Aster stopped in front of Alexis. "I will be your opponent." Alexis' eyes widened as she heard that. She was going to duel the guy who defeated both Zane and Jaden?
Crowler leaned down next to Bonaparte. "Why is Aster Phoeix here?"
Bonaparte smirked. "Well, I obviously called him here, evidemment."
Crowler narrowed his eyes. "H-However, what kind of condition did you give him?"
Bonaparte closed his eyes and chuckled. "We heard that Aster was previously seeking to avenge his pere. I told him that I'm familiar with the boss of the underground dueling world... and that I would ask about the enemy that he is seeking if he wins this duel."
Crowler looked at him shocked. "Do you know such a person?"
Bonaparte chuckled once more. "Such a person doesn't exist."
"M-Mamma-" Crowler was about to blurt out, before Bonaparte covered his mouth with an irritated expression.
"As long as we can demolish Slifer Red, it is of no importance how we get it done!" He then looked towards the students before walkig away with Crowler close behind him. "Now, let us head to the duel arena." The students walked along and followed the two.
Aster was walking after them, until he noticed Chazz, who was leaning against one of the pillars.
Chazz looked at him with a smirk. "Did you come with Master Sartorius' orders?"
Aster looked at him with a confused look. "Sartorius' orders?"
Chazz nodded. "Right. Our orders as part of the Society of Light."
Aster was completely lost at what he was saying. "Society of Light? What are you on about?"
Chazz stood up and looked at Aster, confused. "So, I'm wrong? I was sure that you came to obliterate Jaden under Master Sartorius' orders..."
Aster raised an eye brow. "Jaden, huh? Why would I battle him? I've already beaten him. I have no reason to duel him."
Chazz smirked. "When you battled Jaden last time, Master Sartorius' powers were dwealing inside your deck... But, Jaden didn't become an ally to the Society of Light, despite losing to you. Which means that Master Sartorius' powers had no effect on Jaden."
Aster now looked at Chazz completely confused, since he had no idea what he was even on about. "Sartorius' powers were in my deck? What do you mean?"
Chazz looked at him straight in the eyes. "You're clueless, huh? This academy will eventually belong to Master Sartorius. Jaden will probably show up before long, as well, but... if you won't battle him, I'll just have to beat him. Master Sartorius will take care of that devil." Chazz began to walk away while laughing maniacally.
"Hey, answer my question!" Aster watched as Chazz continued to walk away. 'What's with him? And what did he mean by a devil? But still, the one who Sartorius said will overcome destiny... Is that supposed to be Jaden?'
Aster shook his head, one of that mattered right now. He was here for one reason only. To get the information that could put an end to his pain once and for all. In order to get it, he had a duel to win. He then walked into the main building to get to the Duel Arena. Unaware, two familiar Slifer Reds passed by the main building.
Present Time at the Duel Arena
Alexis and Aster stood on the stage and put their duel disks on their arms. Alexis looked at Aster and could feel an intense pressure coming out of him. She swallowed a little, feeling somewhat intimidated.
'W-What's all this fighting spirit coming from him? Is this the drive of a pro duelist?' Alexis thought, hoping she'd be able to stand a chance aginst him.
Bonaparte stood up with a smirk. "Ahem, we will now commence this duel, with Silfer Red survie on the line!"
Alexis looked at Aster with a determinded look. "I'm all set over here!"
Aster narrowed his eyes. "Let's hurry and get this over with!" Both of them put their decks into their duel disks and were about to activate them, until they suddenly heard a voice calling out.
"Hold it right there!"
All of them get shocked when they heard that voice. Since they would recognize it anywhere. All of them looked towards the entrance and saw Jaden enter the arena while gasping for air. Not only that, Red Hat entered the arena, equally tired, panting and gasping for air.
"You wouldn't start without us now, would you?" Red Hat reminded them.
The gang who were spectators, all stood up at the same time with smiles on their faces. "Jaden!" All of them shouted.
Aster looked at him as he narrowed his eyes. Displeased to see him. "Wait, Jaden?" Why did Jaden came back at all times? Better yet, he came back with the so called 'Red Hat' boy by his side. Just because Chazz mentioned that he had to duel Jaden doesn't necessarily mean he had to. Although that left him with another question. Who was this so called 'devil' anyway?
"Hold that duel right there!" Jaden said, who managed to catch his breath. He ran past the dueling platform to reunite with his friends, who gathered together just to meet up with him. Red Hat followed behind him as he catch his breath.
"Jaden, where were you?" Syrus asked, happy to see Jaden again.
"Funny you should say that." Red Hat spoke up. "After a couple of days have passed. I stayed by Jaden's side after he got lost in the forest. I brought him back to several points, before we could return."
"What? You mean to me us you were with Jaden the entire time and didn't bother contacting us?" Bastion questioned, glaring at Red Hat.
"Jaden wanted to leave, so I helded him out by taking one of the boats as he drifted off to sea, while I gave him food and water." Red Hat admited. "I let him go, and kept it secret even after finding him two days later. We stayed in the forest while I was sneaking around giving Jaden food and water and staying away, until right now anyway..."
The entire gang was not pleased with his explaion and actions. So much so, Hassleberry jumped down and grabbed Red Hat by the collor of his blazar.
"ARE YOU INSANE, PRIVATE! YOU LET HIM GO, ONLY TO KEEP HIM AWAY FROM US AFTER FINDING HIM!" Hassleberry snapped.
"Yeah, whats the big idea here?! You found him and didn't come back until over a weak!?" Syrus added, while glaring at Red Hat. "Just who do you think you are!"
"You two are one's to talk..." Red Hat shot back, struggling to free himself from Hassleberry's grip. "I actually took care of Jaden and actaully acted like a friend. Meanwhile, all you two were doing were arguing like a bunch of idiots on who's Jaden best friend." He smirked as he kicked Hassleberry in the shin, causing him to yelp and let go of him, only for Red Hat to then immediately punch Syrus in the face. "Where that best friend is me... You two barely cared, and Syrus you're useless and only use Jaden as a shield to hide the fact you're a coward and a leech."
"Ouch... whats that suposed to mean?! We did our best to look for him!" Syrus said, recovering from the puch he recived.
"Let's hear what the Sarge has to say about this." Hasslebery suggested, still glaring at Red Hat. "For all we know, you could be making that up!"
"Actually he isn't lying you guys." Jaden corrected. "After I drifted out to sea on my boat, I got to meet up with a new HERO deck. Although, I washed up along the far beachside and I got lost in the forest. Red Hat found me and we've been hanging out in the forest while he's been getting me sandwiches and even more new HEROs!"
"A new HERO deck and new HEROs?" wondered Aster.
"Yep, that's right! See, there was this huge light that just came whamming in from outer space! Once I got swallowed up by that light, a new HERO showed up, breathing some new life into my deck!" Jaden explaned.
"What are you even saying, Jaden?" Alexis wondered.
"I don't get any of this..." Bastion addded, equally as confused.
"When you say that it breathed some new life into it..." said Syrus.
"So then, Sarge, you can you see your cards now?" continued Hassleberry.
"Yeah, they're all good now!" explained Jaden. "Once they brought me back to the island, I been looking around all over for them. Now my deck is complete again. Not only that, Red Hat even tagged along and gave me new HEROs he got from the card shop."
"Wait, is that why Ms. Dorthy was running out of card packs? Red Hat's has been buying them in secret the entire time?" Bastion questioned. Wondering why the shop has been running low on card packs these past couple days. Only one other person buys that many cards, and that's Red Hat.
"I didn't expect to find said cards, let alone give them to Jaden when I was looking for him. It was by sheer chance all things considered. While iot cost me most of my DP. It was well worth it." Red Hat corrected. 'Also, we had to find said duel spirits. Not like we can tell you that. You wouldn't believe us.' He thought.
"So, yeah, I've made up my mind." said Jaden before looking up at Aster. "Aster, I really want to let you see this deck first! It's thanks to you that I met this new HERO deck!"
"A new HERO deck, is it?" questioned Aster with an annoyed look. "I thought I told you: there isn't a HERO on earth that will surpass the D-HEROS!"
"And I said that this deck came from outer space!" reminded Jaden. "Besides, Red Hat even got me some new HEROs too!"
Red Hat nodded and smiled. "One of those new HEROS will surprise you. Industrial Illusions made new HERO cards, which even I wasn't aware of. Never underestimate inovation. Even if it's just additional support for play styles like Elemental HEROs." He turned his back. 'I still prefer Monarchs. Monarchs and to some extent Demise can take down HEROs quite easily. As far as I'm aware.' He thought that last statment.
"Jaden, these so-called Aliens haven't been proven by current science, you know..." Bastion reminded him.
'Can we prove duel spirits with science? Maybe, but that will take a long time. For now, spirits is only something a select few people can see...' thought Red Hat. Finding it amusing that some things, science can't really prove. At least at the moment.
"Just leave all the little stuff for some other time!" Turning to Alexis, Jaden offered. "Anyway, Alexis, change up with me!"
"Eh? Are you sure about this?" asked Alexis, handing him her duel disk after removing her deck out.
"It's all good! I want to battle Aster one more time!" Jaden assured them as he jumped ono the dueling arena.
"I would battle Aster, but it's Jaden's time for a rematch." added Red Hat.
"Yes, however-de aru." Bonaparte sighed. Frustrated that the two students he least wanted to see returned and were now meddling with his affairs.
"This duel is a battle with the survival of Slifer Red at stake. There shouldn't be a problem with swtiching Jaden in." Bastion argued back.
Seeing Bastion's argument, Bonaparte couldn't come up with a rebuttal. Crowler nodded in agreement. "Certainly. I shall approve of this change. This is fine, is it not, Vice Chancellor Bonaparte?"
"Well, it is inevitable, Temporary Chancellor Crowler." Bonaparte reluctantly pointed out.
"Aw, yeah! Now, we're talking!" Jaden caled out, giving a thumbs-up before returning to the duel. "Let's have some fun again, Aster!"
"We can all we want, but things won't change!" Aster proclaimed, determined to defeat Jaden once more.
"With that, we will now begin the duel!" announced Crowler.
DUEL

Jaden: 8000 LP
"I'll start this duel! I draw!" Aster draws.
Hand 6
"First I play the spell card Destiny Draw! I discard a Destiny HERO monster to draw 2 cards!" Aster discards a D-HERO and draws his cards. "Next, I play the spell Terraforming! With this, I can add any field spell from my deck to my hand! You know which one, I'll add Clock Tower Prison!" Aster adds his card as his deck was shuffled.
Immediately, he activated the card and then all around the field, clock towers sprung up, overshadowing the two duelists as it turned from daylight to nighttime all around. Jaden groans at the sight of the Clock Tower. This was the same card that caused Jaden the duel the last time they dueled.
"I summon Destiny HERO - Dread Servant! (Atk: 400 Def: 700)" A dark hero with black armor appeared on the field. He held a yellow shield on his left and held a staff on his right. "His effect activates. When he's normal summoned, he places a Clock Counter on Clock Tower Prison. So, time is already not on your side!" The clock's hands began to spin clockwise until it reached 3 o' clock.
'This card again. Although, Aster doesn't have enough set up. Unless, he already did with just one Destiny Draw.' Red Hat observed.
"Lastly, I'll place one card facedown and end my turn." Aster ends his turn.
Hand 3
"It's my turn, I draw!" Jaden draws.
Hand 6
"Do I have to remind you of Clock Tower Prison's effect? Another Clock Counter!" The clock's hands began to spin once more until it reached 6 o' clock.
"Alright, I summon Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin! (Atk: 600 Def: 800)" A big wave appeared as Jaden said that and then out of the wave jumped Aqua Dolphin. Aster looked at Aqua Dolphin in shock as had never seen that card before. "These are my new friends, the Neo-Spacians."
"They aren't really aliens, are they?" Bastion question.
'Really is one.' Red Hat lightly chuckled. 'Jaden, let's see what you can do with these new alien friends you have.'
"Next, I play the spell card, Fake Hero! With this, I can special summon an Elemental HERO from my hand, but it can't attack and it returns to my hand during the end phase! Time for a brand new HERO! Take to the skies, Elemental HERO Stratos! (Atk: 1800 Def: 300)" A warrior clad in blue and silver armor with turbine wings appeared alongside Aqua Dolphin.
"Wait! That HERO isn't supposed to exist!" Aster called out.
"Oh, it very much exist. You can thank Industrial Illusions for making new Elemental HERO cards." Red Hat explained with a smug grin. Knowing what's coming up next. "Jaden, mind explaining his effect?"
Jaden nodded with a smile. "Sure thing. Stratos effect activate. When he's summoned, I choose one of his two effects. Either, I can destroy spells or traps up to the number of Elemental HERO or Destiny HERO monsters I control, except itself. Or, I can add either an Elemental HERO or Destiny HERO monster from my deck to my hand. I'll add Necroshade from my deck to my hand." Jaden explained as he added his card and shuffled his deck.
Aster was clearly not happy by his explaination. "Such a Hero dares to try and help my Destiny HEROs! What kind of HERO helps both Elemental and Destiny HEROs! My Destiny HEROs doesn't need help from Elemental HEROs!" Aster snapped.
Red Hat raised an eye brow at that statement. 'Why would you ignore using a great support card? Are you that self-righteous about your claims with Destiny HERO's that you'll refuse to get a copy of Stratos? That's like saying, I', not running Heavy Storm or MST just because I have Mobius and Jinzo.' Red Hat thought, failing to see the logic Aster had.
"Aqua Dolphin's effect activates! I discard one card to look at my opponents hand and choose one monster. If I have a monster with more attack then the chosen card, I can destroy it and you take 500 damage." Jaden discarded Necroshade to the graveyard, Aqua Dolphin then unleased a sound wave that ripped across the field and hit Aster's hand. Jaden was then allowed to see his hand and stopped at one card, which was Captain Tenacious. The card was then destroyed, forcing Aster to send it to the graveyard. Aqua Dolphin unleashed another sound wave at Aster.

"Next, I'll place two cards facedown and end my turn. Stratos returns to my hand." Jaden ends his turn as Stratos disappeared from the field.

"Lucky shot! It's my turn, I draw!" Aster draws.
Hand 3
"I summon Destiny HERO Diamond Dude! (Atk: 1400 Def: 1600)" Diamond Dude emerges onto the field. "Now, I'll use his effect! I check the top card of my deck. Then, if it's a normal spell, I send it to my graveyard. Otherwise, it returns to the bottom of my deck." Aster check the top card of his deck and smiles. "What do you know, it's Magical Stone Excavation! I send it to my graveyard and I'll be able to activate it on my next turn."
'And because it will be used by Diamond Dude's effect. He won't be paying the cost.' Red Hat reminded himself.
"Next, I activate the trap card Eternal Dread! This trap give my clock tower two more clock towers! Your fate is once again sealed!" The clock's hands began to spin once again until struck at midnight, starting the process all over again. The field soon began to be distorted for a few seconds.
"Battle, Dread Servant attack!" Dread Servant radies his staff and charges in.
"But why though? His monster is still weaker and he takes no damage. What's the point?" Bastion questioned the logic behind this play.
'Unless he wants it to be destroyed.' Red Hat observed.
As Dread Servant was about to swing his staff. Aqua Dolphin jumped over him and punched him in retaliation.
"Dread Servant's effect! When he's destroyed in battle, I can destroy a spell or trap I control! Guess what I'm destroying? That's right, Clock Tower Prison! And when it's destroyed with four clock counters, Destiny HERO Dreadmaster emerges!" The clock tower crumbled, but soaring out from the rubble and dust was Destiny HERO Dreadmaster (Atk: ? Def: ?)
"Now, Dreadmaster's effect activates. Since he was summoned by the effect of Clock Tower Prison, he can bring back two Destiny HEROs! Appear once again, Captain Tenacious and my new Destiny HERO Disk Commander! (Atk: 300 Def: 300) (Atk: 800 Def: 800)" A warrior clad in blue and silver armor with what appeared to be CD-like disks emerged onto the field and crossed it's arms, along with Captain Tenacious. "Disk Commander's effect, anytime he's special summoned from my graveyard, I can draw 2 cards. So your efforts were wasted!" Aster draws his cards.
'Draw 2 cards anytime it's summoned from the graveyard. That is a busted effect if it can be looped.' Red Hat thought with amusment.
"Dreadmaster other effect, he gains attack and defense point are equal to the combined attack of all my Destiny HEROs! Not only that, all my Destiny HEROs can not be destroyed this turn and I don't take battle damage! (Atk: ? - 2500 Def: ? - 2500) Battle, Dreadmaster attack his Dolphin boy!" Dreadmaster roared as he jumped up into the air and came down towards Aqua Dolphin with a punch.
"Not today, I activate the trap card, Negate Attack. This negates your attack and ends your battle phase!" Jaden explained as a force field appeared, pushing back Dreadmaster.
"Tch, you and your makeshift tricks... I end my turn." Aster ends his turn.

"My turn, I draw!" Jaden draws.
Hand 3
"I summon Elemental HERO Stratos! (Atk: 1800 Def: 300)" Stratos appeared once more. "Now, I'll use his effect to add my newest Hero, and he's known as Elemental HERO Neos! But then you're asking, how do I summon him? I play this, the spell card Ancient Rules! With this, I can special summon a level 5 or higher normal monster. The power to protect Neo Space, emerge Elemental HERO Neos!"
"Elemental HERO... Neos?" Aster questioned as he narrowed his eyes. The ceiling took the appearence of space and Neos flew down and landed on the field. (Atk: 2500 Def: 2000) "Impossible! Even as a HERO user, I've never seen an Elemental HERO like this one before!"
"Well, of course you haven't! Elemental HERO Neos is the one-and-only miraculous Elemental HERO who took on space waves and can make contact with Neo-Spacians!"
"What do you mean?" Aster wondered.
"Now, I'll show you the power of Neos! Aqua Dolphin and Neos, Contact Fusion into Aqua Neos!" Jaden then shuffled their cards back into the deck and Neos and Aqua Dolphin flew up in the air. Then, they came into contact with each other and a blinding light appeared from them Neos then appeared and now had a blue and white armor with light green marking on his chest with a red crystal in the middle of it. (Atk: 2500 Def: 2000)
'Contact Fusion huh? Unlike the VWXYZ cards instead of banishing them, they get shuffled back into the deck and not needing Poly. Sounds interesting.' Red Hat thought with a smile.
"Now I activate Aqua Neos effect! By discarding one card. One random card in your hand is destroyed." Jaden discarded his last card to the graveyard. Beams got fired from Aqua Neos eyes hit one of Aster's cards and they got sent to the graveyard. "Battle, Stratos attack his Captain Tenacious!" Stratos flew towards the dark hero and punched it in the face, destroying him. "Since Captain Tenacious has been destroyed, Your Dreadmaster attack points decrease! (Atk: 2500 - 1700 Def: 2500 - 1700)"
'Guess that's one way to beat him.' Red Hat thought, still prefering to get rid of monsters by effects over battle, but that was just him really.
"Lastly, Aqua Neos attack his Dreadmaster with Sonic Zoom!" Aqua Neos unleased a stream of water from his arm that flew towards Dreadmaster and hit him, overwhelming him by the water pressure and got destroyed.
Aster: 7500 - 6700 LP
Aster trembled in rage as he gritted his teeth. "My Dreadmaster was defeated?! I won't accept some HERO is above my D-HEROs!"
Jaden smiled. "Alright, let's go on and do this... eh?" Everyone observed as they saw Aqua Neos leave the field as Aqua Neos returned to the extra deck. Jaden and the rest of the group being surprised by this interaction.
'It returned back to the extra deck? If the effect is going back to the extra deck during the end phase... that's a horrible limitation? Why are they like this? VWXYZ monsters don't have to put up with that, and they are already not impressive and tedious to bring out.' Red Hat obcerved with a glare.
"Could it be that Jaden has yet to even study his new deck extensively?" Bastion wondered.
'Jaden, sometimes reading your cards before a duel is a good idea. That way, this sceario doesn't happen.' Red Hat thought with a sigh.

"My turn, I draw!" Aster draws.
Hand 4
Aster smirked. "Jaden, if you say that you can overcome your fate of defeat, then just try it! But the result will be the same!"
'Here we go again.' Red Hat sighed.
"Thanks to Diamond Dude, I can use Magical Stone Excavation in my graveyard to add back a spell card without paying the cost! I'll choose my Destiny Draw spell! I'll use it again, by discarding a Destiny HERO to draw two cards!" Aster discarded a D-HERO and drew his cards. "I tribute Disk Commander to tribute summon Destiny HERO Dasher! (Atk: 2100 Def: 1000)" Dasher emerged onto the field. "Now, I banish the Malicious I just discarded to special summon aother Malicious from my deck! (Atk: 800 Def: 800)" The second Destiny Hero Malicious appeared on the field. "I use Dasher's effect, by tributing one other monster, he gains 1000 attack points until the end phase! Malicious you fulfilled your purpose!" Malicious glowed and soon was absorbed by Dasher as it's power was increased. (Atk: 2100 - 3100 Def: 1000)
"I'll use Diamond Dude's effect once more. I check the top card of my deck, and if it's a normal spell, I send it to my graveyard andI can use it next turn." Aster checked the top card and smiled. "What do you know, it's my second Destiny Draw spell! I'll send it to my graveyard to use next turn!" Aster send his card to the grave. "Battle, Dasher attack his Stratos!" Dasher dashed forward and approached the air blade hero.
"Go trap card, Mirror Force! This destroys your attack position monsters!" Jaden announced as a holy barrier appeared in front of Dasher.
"Is that supposed to scare me? I activate the quick play spell, My Body as a Shield! When you activate a card effect that would destroy monsters on my field, by paying 1500 LP your card is negated and destroyed!" Marauding Captain appeared on the field and took the holy barrier's effect, saving Dasher from being destroyed. Dasher continued his attack and destroyed Stratos.

"Diamond Dude, attack Jaden directly!" Diamonde Dude rushed forward and punched Jade, knocking him back.
Jaden: 6700 - 5300 LP
"After Dasher finished attacking, he goes to defense mode!" Dasher crossed it's arms and bend down to one knee. (Atk: 3100 -2100 Def: 1000) "I set one card facedown and end my turn." Aster ends his turn.

Aster chuckled. "The outcome is already as good as obvious!"
Jaden slowly got back on his feet. "Nope! I'm still in this! I haven't even shown you my new deck's awesomeness!" Jaden sighed. 'Still, that was a bit intense. Can Aqua Neos only show up for just one turn? I didn't know that...'
'This match is as good as mine. Jaden, you just can't comprehend the weight of the fate that true heroes are burdened with.' Aster thought with slight distain.
"It's my turn, I draw!" Jaden draws.
Hand 1
"I special summon Elemental HERO Bubbleman! (Atk: 800 Def: 1200)" Bubbleman emerges onto the field. "Since Bubbleman was the only card in my hand, I can special summon him. Since I control no other cards and I have no cards in my hand, I can draw two more cards!" Jaden draws his cards. "Next, I'll activate the spell Pot of Greed!" Jaden draws two more cards. "Next up, I play the spell card, The Warrior Returning Alive! I add back a warrior from mt graveyard, I'll choose Elemental HERO Stratos! I'll summon him again! (Atk: 1800 Def: 300)" Stratos emerges onto the field once more. "I'll add a new HERO from my deck to my hand. I'll add this, Elemental HERO Ocean!" Jaden adds his card.
'Refilled your hand. You're going to need it Jaden.' Red Hat observed.
"I play the spell card, HERO's Bond! Since I control a HERO monster, I can special summon two level 4 or lower Elemental HERO's from my hand. Give a warm welcome to Elemental HERO Ocean and Elemental HERO Heat! (Atk: 1500 Def: 1200) (Atk: 1600 Def: 1200)" Two new heros appeared. The second one wore a fiery red, white, and yellow armor, had a white and yellow mask with green eyes over his face and was quite muscular. The first one was a blue skinned warrior with a fin on top of his head, waering a bit of whitish armor and holding a two pronged trident in his hands.
"It's true, Jaden not only has new monsters from space, but he has newly released HEROs as well." Bastion pointed out.
"Elemental HERO Heat effect, he gains 200 attack for every Elemental HERO on the field, including himself." Heat flexed his muscles as his power grew stronger. (Atk: 1600 - 2400 Def: 1200) "Battle, Heat attack his Diamond Dude!" Heat ignited one of his fists and dashed towards the Destiny HERO.
"Did you think it will be that easy? I activate the trap card, D - Counter! When you attack a Destiny HERO monster, that monster gets destroyed!" As Heat got close to Diamond Dude, Heat exploded right before he was able to make contact.
"Agh, fine then, Ocean attack his Dasher!" Ocean charged in and stabbed Dasher with his trident and destroyed him. "Stratos, attack his Diamond Dude!" Stratos flew towards Diamond Dude and punched it in the face, destroying him.
Aster: 5200 - 4800 LP
"Lastly, Bubbleman, attack Aster directly!" Bubbleman launched a blast of water from his gun at hit Aster directly.
Aster: 4800 - 4000 LP
"I end my turn." Jaden ends his turn.

"Nice going, Jaden. You bounced back to the game." Red Hat cheered.
"My turn, I draw!" Aster draws.

"No matter what kind of Heroes you found, there are no Heroes above the D-HEROs! Are you aware of the Dasher's other effect? When I draw a monster, I can special summon it. Granted this effect can only be used once. I special summon Destiny HERO Doom Lord (Atk: 600 Def: 800)" Doom Lord emerges onto the field. "I'll use Destiny Draw effect from my graveyard to draw 2 more cards." Aster draws his cards. "I banish my second Malicious from my graveyard to special summon the third copy!" The final copy of Destiny HERO Malicious appeared on the field. (Atk: 800 Def: 800) "Next I play the field spell, Dark City!" A field spell similar to Skyscraper appeared around them, only the buildigs were dark and it was night.
'Why do I feel like half of these Destiny HERO cards only exist to mirror Elemental HEROs...' Red Hat thought as he observed the field.
"When a Destiny HERO monster is lower then the opponent's monster, Dark City will increase it's attack by 1000 points!" Aster explained.
"A Skyscraper for Destiny HEROs, huh?!" Jaden said.
"Now I tribute Destiny HERO Malicious to tribute summon, Destiny HERO Double Dude! (Atk: 1000 Def: 1000)" Malicious disappeared and a man dressed in a black suit appeared. He had a black hat a scarf covering his mouth and a cane in his hand. "Battle, Double Dude, attack his Stratos! (Atk: 1000 - 2000 Def: 1000)" Double Dude morphed into a more muscular man with his suit ripped apart and punched Stratos, destroying him.
Jaden: 6700 - 6500 LP
"Double Dude's effect, he can attack twice during each battle phase! Attack his Ocean!" Double Dude morphed back to his original form and attacked Ocean with his cane.
Jaden: 6500 - 6000 LP
"Doom Lord attack his Bubbleman! Impending Doom Grip! (Atk: 600 - 1600 Def: 800)" Doom Lord leaps forward and grips Bubblaman and destroyed him.
Jaden: 6000 - 5200 LP
"I set one card facedown and end my turn." Aster ends his turn. (Atk: 1600 - 600 Def: 800) (Atk: 2000 - 1000 Def: 1000)

"It's my turn, I draw!" Jaden draws.

"I play the spell card, Graceful Charity! I draw three cards, then I discard two." Jaden draws his cards and discard Elemental HERO Sparkman and Woodsman. "Now I play this, the spell card, Fifth Hope! I shuffle back 5 Elemental HEROs back into my deck then I draw 2 cards. Since I controled no other cards when I activated this card, I get to draw 1 more card!" Jaden shuffles back Elemental HERO Sparkman, Ocean, Stratos, Heat, and Bubbleman and drew his cards. "Next up, I play the spell card E - Emergency Call! I add back Stratos to my hand." Jaden adds his new hero again. "Here's another spell, Convert Contact! I can only use this card if I control no cards. I discard Neo-Spacian then I send a Neo-Spacian from my deck to the graveyard to draw 2 cards." Jaden discards Glow Moss and sendss Air Hummingbird to the graveyard to draw his cards.
"You'll need all the draw power and graveyard set up, Jaden. So far, you're struggling." Red Hat muttered to himself.
"I summon Elemental HERO Stratos! (Atk: 1800 Def: 300)" Stratos remerged onto the field. "Now, I get to add another Elemental HERO. I choose Neos!" Jaden adds his new hero to his hand. "Next, I play the continuous spell card Common Soul! I target a monster on the field, I special summon a Neo-Spacian from my hand to the side of the field of the targeted monster, in this case, Stratos. I special summon, Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab! (Atk: 500 Def: 500)" Flare Scarab emerged on the field in a fiery blaze.
"Is that another one of your new monsters?" Aster asked.
"See him, Aster? This guy is another one of my firends, Flare Scarab! See? There's bound to be a lot more new HEroes! Even ones that have yet find!" Jaden explained.
'Granted, I never thought Industrial Illusions would make new Elemental HERO cards. The way I got them was just by complete accident.' Red Hat thought, ammused at current events that transpired.
Aster gritted his teth. "Jaden, you're that glad to be showing off your heroes? Even so, I won't approve of some Heroes who are unburdened by destiny!"
Jaden had a down look on his face. "Well, sure, what happened to your dad was sad and all..." Aster glared at Jaden as he continued. "But still... doesn't meeting some new heroes just pump you up? You would know, wouldn't you, Aster?"
"An encounter with new Heroes?" Aster questioned.
"I'm sure it was th same with your dad! He must've made your D-HEROs because he wanted you to be happy, not to feel sad when you look at them!"
Flashback
A young Aster could be seen near his father's desk. Observing his father scetch something something for him. Once he finished his work. He handed the sketch to Asterwith a smile.
The young Aster would take the sketch happily as he saw what his father had made for him.
'He's right... My father would sketch all the heroes I wanted just so I would be happy...'
His father smiled, knowing his son liked his new sketch he made for him...
Flashback End
'Just so... I would be happy.' Aster looked at his deck with a down look. 'And yet, my heart just saddens every time I look at my D-HERO's... Father...'
Bonaparte then stood up angey at what was transpiring. "Aster Phoenix! What are you standing around for?! You must not let Jaden's mots distract you!"
"Wait, hold on a sec! Don't call it so offensive like "discracting," Vice-Chancellor!" Jaden called out.
Bonaparte completely ignored him. "Use those D-HEROs that are burdened with your destin to trounce that Jaden!"
Aster then got a look of realization. 'Burdened with my destiny? I... I burndened my D-HEROs with my own destiny... Have I been making my D-HEROs be prisoners of destiny?'
"Here I go, Aster! Flare Scarab effect, he gains 400 attack points for every spell or trap card on your field! (Atk: 500 - 1300 Def: 500)" Flare Scarab got covered in flames as his power increased. "Now, thanks to my Common Soul spell card, Stratos gains attack points equal to Flare Scarab's attack points! (Atk: 1800 - 3100 Def: 300)" Stratos got covered in a red aura.
"Battle, Stratos attack his Double Dude!" Stratos flew in and punched Double Dude right in the face.
Aster: 4000 - 1900 LP
"I'm getting pressed down? I activate my trap card, Destiny Signal! When you destroy a monster in battle, I can special summon a level 4 or lower Destiny HERO monster from my deck. Appear, Destiny HERO Defender! (Atk: 100 Def: 2700)" A large monster made out of rock appeared on a knee with an arm in front of him.
"Woah, that's awesome! A defense of 2700, huh?" Jaden said, surprised.
"But, because of his high defense, my Defender will allow my oponent to draw one card when it's in defense mode during their turn." Aster explained. Since a trap card was used, Flare Scarab lost some attack points. (Atk: 1300 - 900 Def: 500)
'Never give your oponent free resources. Typical of level 4 monsters with very high attack or defense. They have absurd restrictions.' Red Hat thought.
"It's still my battle phase. Flare Scarab, attack his Doom Lord!" Flare Scarab fired blasts of fire towards Doom Lord and destroyed him.
Aster: 1900 - 1600 LP
"I end my turn." Jaden ends his turn.

"My turn, I draw!" Aster draws.
Hand 2
"Double Dude's effect. When he's destroyed, during my standby phase, I get to special summon 2 Double Dude Tokens! (Atk: 1000 Def: 1000 X2)" Two Double Dudes appeared onto the field as they went to a knee and crossed their arms. "Next, I play the spell card Monster Reborn! I bring back Destiny HERO Disk Commander! (Atk: 300 Def: 300)" Disk Commander remerged onto the field. "Thanks to his effect, since he was special summoned from my graveyard, I get to draw 2 cards." Aster drew his cards. "I play the quick play spell, Mystical Space Typhoon! I destroy your Common Soul spell card!" Powerful winds destroyed the continuous spell card. "Without that card, your hero won't help at all!"
Flare Scarab returned to Jaden's hand after the spell was destroyed. "Damn it, Flare Scarab just..."
"Without him, your Stratos attack points decrease! (Atk: 3100 - 1800 Def: 300)" Stratos glowed purple as his power decreased. "I set one card facedown and end my turn." Aster ends his turn.

"My turn, I draw!" Jaden draws.
Hand 2
"I draw one more card thanks to Defender's effect." Jaden draws one more card. "I summon Elemental HERO Neos! I can summon him without a tribute thanks to Necroshade being in my graveyard! (Atk: 2500 Def: 2000)" Neos emerges onto the field. "Battle, Stratos attack his Doubel Dude Token!" Stratos flew in to attack the token.
"You're out of your mind! Go trap, Mirror Force! Both your monsters are destroyed!" A holy barrier appeared in front of Aster's field and as Stratos attacked, he was deflected and both him and Neos were destroyed.
"Dang... so close. I end my turn." Jaden ends his turn.

"My turn, I draw!" Aster draws.

"I play the spell card, Pot of Greed!" Aster draws his cards. "I tribute both Double Dude tokens and Disk Commander to special summon Destiny HERO Dogma! (Atk: 3400 Def: 2400)" The three monsters disappeared in three pilars of light and out came out Dogma.
"It's him again..." Jaden muttered.
Aster smirked. "You're about to take a beating. Dogma attack him directly! Chronicle Blow!" Dogma charged up a purple blast at the center of his chest and fired it towards Jaden, hiting directly.

"I set one card facedown and end my turn." Aster ends his turn.

"My turn, I draw!" Jaden draws.

"I draw one more card thanks to Defender's effect!" Jaden draws one more card.
Aster smirked. "Dogma's effect activates!" Dogma got surrounded by a purple light and then Jaden suddenly got trapped in a pillar of light and he screamed.
Jaden: 1800 - 900 LP
"Dogma halves my opponent's LP during their standby phase, once! Since it's not damage, it can't be stopped by anti-effect damage cards!" Aster explained.
"Jaden, you're hanging on by a thread..." Red Hat observed. "Hope you have something in mind."
Jaden chuckled. "Aster, this is some awesome fun right now!"
Aster smirked back at him. "Heh, to think you still have the luxury to smile..."
"I can see the fighting spirit of all our heroes! On top of that, there's a new HERO in my deck deck that hasn't even shown itself yet!"
"Another new hero?" asked Aster.
"Here we go, I activate the field spell Neo Space!" Dark City completely vanished and was instantly replaced by a special-like enviroment with a strange auroa-like mixture of colors. "Neo Space gives Elemental HERO Neos and all monsters that use fused with Neos an extra 500 attack points! First I summon Flare Scarab! (Atk: 500 - 900 Def: 500)" Flare Scarab remerged onto the field. "Next, I play the spell card O - Oversoul! With this I can special summon an Elemental HERO normal monster from my graveyard. Appear, Elemental HERO Neos! (Atk: 2500 - 3000 Def: 2000)" Neos came back to the field. "Neos gains 500 more attack points!"
"Dogma's attack points are still higher!" Aster pointed out.
"Nope. I'll show you what my Neos can do! I contact fuse Elemental HERO Neos with Flare Scarab!"
"Contact Fusion?" Aster questioned.
"I don't need a fusion card when I fuse Neos with a Neo-Spacian!"
Watching Neos and Flare Scarab merging together as one, Aster shielded his eyes a little from the intense light. "This light..." Something warm inside was causing him to recall some memories of his past childhood. "That's right... I too was once always excited at the sight of a new hero. So, this is your new HERO, Jaden?" Once the fusion was complete, the new being composed of both Neos and Flare Scarab flew down, fired up with newfound power.
Jaden nodded and smiled. "That's right! This is Neos' new power: Flare Neos! (Atk: 2500 Def: 2000)"
"Contact Fusion in this case is shuffling your monsters into the deck, rather then banishing them like the VWXYZ cards." Red Hat muttered.
"Flare Neos gains 400 attack points for each spell and trap card on the field. Neo Space give him another 500 attack points. (Atk: 2500 - 3800 Def: 2000)" Jaden explained as Flare Neos glowed in a blue aura.
"That's enough to take out my Dogma!" gasped Aster.
"Go, Flare Neos, attack his Dogma!" Flare Neos conjured a huge fireball and launched it at Dogma.
"Go Trap card, D - Shield!" yelled Aster, counterattacking Flare Neos' direball move as a barrier shielded Dogma from harm. "D - Shield when equiped to a Destiny HERO, forces it to defense mode, when it's attacked and it can't be destroyed in battle!"
"You really are amazing, Aster! I end my turn with a facedown" praised Jaden as he ended his turn. (Atk: 3800 - 4200 Def: 2000)
Hand 1
"Heh, well, I truly appreciate those words of yours. My turn, I draw!" Aster draws.
Hand 2
Aster noticed that, unlike Aqua Neos, Flare Neos didn't immediately return back to Jaden's extra deck. "I see... So, Flare Neos won't disappear due to the power of Neo Space?"
"Bingo." Impressed by Aster's observation, Jaden nodded. "See, inside Neo Space, even if Neos does a contact fusion, he can stay out more then one turn."
'In other words. The field spell makes it so, you don't have to activate their effect that shuffles them back into the extra deck.' Red Hat thought and sighed with a forced smile. 'Why couldn't the Neos fusion just... not return to the extra deck? I find that limitation rather silly.'
"Jaden, it's true that Neos is quite an amazing Hero... But even so, I can't afford to lose this duel, either." Aster pointed out. "I switch Dogma to attack mode! Next up, I play the spell card Heavy Storm! All spell and trap cards are destroyed!" Power winds destroyed all spell and traps on the field. Not only destroying Neo Space, but also weakening Flare Neos' attack points. (Atk: 4200 - 2500 Def: 2000)
"Without those cards, Flare Neos attack points go back to normal! Begone, Jaden! Dogma attack, Chronicle Blow!" Dogma charged up a purple blast at the center of his chest and fired it towards Flare Neos, only another monster blocked Dogma's attack. "Impossible!"
"That's too bad, Aster. You see, when I discard a card from my hand way back when I used Aqua Neos' effect. The card is known as Necro Gardna! By banishing him, I can negate the attack of one of your monsters! So, Dogma isn't destroying my Flare Neos!" Jaden explained as he showed his banished card, before putting it away.
"Don't think for a second this is over, Jaden! I set one card facedown and end my turn!" Aster ends his turn.
Hand 0
At that moment, Flare Neos returned back to Jaden's extra deck.
"Heh, so his negative side effect also applies during my end phase? What will you do now, Jaden?" Aster questioned with a smirk.
"Hey, a duel isn't over until the last card is played. My turn, I draw!" Jaden draws.
Hand 2
"I draw one more card thanks to Defender's effect, since he's still on the field." Jaden draws one more card and was shocked to see what he drew. 'This card...'
Flashback
During the night, when Red Hat and Jaden were running back to the main academy building. Hoping it wasn't too late to interfere with what ever match Crowler and Bonaparte planned. Red Hat stopped for a moment and took out his deck from his deck box. Jaden stopped running for a moment and noticed Red Hat was falling behind.
"Hey, Red Hat, something the matter?" asked Jaden. Feeling concerned for his friend.
Red Hat looked at Jaden as he took out a card from his deck. "Jaden, I want you to have this card. It may come in handy to you in a tight spot."
As Red Hat handed over his card to Jaden. He took it and took a good look at the card. To his surprise, it was one of Red Hat's best cards. The spell card, Snatch Steal.
"You're giving me this? Isn't this your best card yet? I can't simply take this from you!" Jaden said sheepishly "I remember you tried to give me your copy of Dandylion. Just because I originally made it when I was a kid, even though I told you to keep it. You don't have to give me cards as compensation, bro."
Red Hat shook his head in disapproval. "No Jaden, I want you to have this. Besides, I already obtained another copy ayway. You can have it. You'd be surprised how often it comes in handy."
Jaden smiled as he placed the card in his deck box. "Sweet! Thanks for always helping me out, bro!"
"No problem, Jaden." Red Hat then began running forward. "Come on! We have to hurry!"
"You're on!" Jaden replied as he caught up to Red Hat.
Flashback End
'Guess it's now time to use it. But first, I have to get rid of that Defender and his facedown.' Jaden observed the field. "Here goes nothing! I play the quick play spell, Mystical Space Typhoon! With this, your facedown card is destroyed!" A cyclone appeared and destroyed Aster's facedown. "Now I summon, Neo-Spacian Grand Mole! (Atk: 900 Def: 300)" A mole with three drills, one on it's forehead, an two on it's shoulders drug from from beneath the floor and showed up onto the field.
"What do you intend to do with that mole anyway?" wondered Aster.
"When Grand Mole attacks or is attacked, he returns the attacking monster and himself back to the hand and neither of us take damage. Sweet huh?" Jaden explained.
"You plan to bounce back my Dogma? You realize Defender is still on my field and any monster I summon with at least 1000 attack points is more then enough to beat you?" Aster reminded him.
"Oh, who said I was targeting Dogma? Time for a sweet surprise, curtesy of a friend of mine. I play the equip spell card Snatch Steal! With this card, I can equip it to your Dogma and take control of it!"
"Wait, you what?!" gasped Aster as his Dogma now switch sides and went to Jaden's field. "You dare steal one of my Destiny HEROs!"
"Who ever said I can't? Besides, I always wanted to use a Destiny HERO!" Jaden replied.
"Snatch Steal? That's not one of Jadens cards!" Syrus pointed out.
"Who could have given the Sarge such a powerful card?" Hassleberry wondered.
"Maybe..." Alexis then turned her attention to Red Hat. Realizing only he could have such destructive cards like that. "You wouldn't happen to give him such a card?"
Red Hat chuckled and placed his arms at the back of his head as layed back against the wall. "What can I say? I always support my best friend when he needs it."
Bastion sweat dropped at his statement "I'm still amazed you can be so calm about this?"
Aster looked shocked. 'This is... the power to surpass Sartorious' prediction!'
"Battle, Grand Mole, attack Destiny HERO Defender!" Grand Mole used it's drills to turned into a single drill and dung underground, only to come back out in front of defender as both it and Defender returned to their respective owners hand. "End this duel! Dogma, attack Aster directly! Dagger Dash!" Dogma flew down towards Aster and striked him with his blade.
Aster: 1600 - 0 LP
Jaden did his sidnature pose. "That's game! That sure was a great duel!"
"That was an Amazing duel, Jaden! Aster!" Bastion praised.
"With this, Slifer Red has also been saved for now." Alexis pointed out.
"Way to go, Jaden. You actually did it. Think of it as a team effort." Red Hat said, as he walked away. Not quite done with something just yet
Aster walked up to Jaden. "Jaden, I lost things here today. Even so, this doesn't mean that the Destiny HEROs lost." Aster looked away and closed his eyes. "I was just playing poorly out there."
Jaden smiled at him. "Of course!" No one thought that the Destiny HEROs were weak! There's a hero in everyone's hearts! One that's the strongest Hero to them."
"Our first warmup duel doesn't count. So now, we've both gond down once."
Aster nodded. "Yeah. Let's settle the score someday." Aster then ebgan to walk away, not before giving one last glare at Bonaparte.
Bonaparte sighed in relief when Aster walked passed them. "I can not tell if I should or shouldn't be glad that Aster has lost and my big mensonge won't be exposed..."
Crowler nodded. "At any rate, the disappearence of the Slifer Red is now on hold."
Then suddenly they heard someone clear his troat. They looked next to them and got shocked and worried when they saw Aster here. Aster glared at them. "There's something I forgot to tell you... From now on, I'll be making this academy my base. Though, since I'm busy with the Pro League, I won't be able to come all that often." Aster began to walk away from the arena.
As they sighed in relief, Red Hat approached them from behind them. They both got shocked again, only Bonaparte glared at him. "What do you want you slacker!"
Red Hat glared at him. "Don't think I'm done with you two. I'll make sure you both pay for your crimes." Red Hat then ran off to catch up to Aster.
"What did he mean by crimes?" Crowler asked in confusion.
Meanwhile
Aster had just gotten out of the main building. He took out his cell phone and pushed the speed dial for a very familiar number for him. He put the phone to his ear, and the answer he got was not what he was expecting.
'The number that you have tried to reach is currently out of service.'
He ended the call and looked at the cell phone. "Sartorious, have you vanished from my sight? There's something that I have to ask you about... About the 'Society of Light' that he spoke of... What are you thinking Sartorious?" He put away his cell phone and held his glare. "But, if I'm at this Academy, I should eventually be able to run into you... With the duelist who overcame your prediction..."
"Aster, wait up!" Aster turned around to the voice that was calling him. He noticed that Red Hat followed him out here. "I have something to tell you."
Aster turned away from. "What did you have to say to me?"
"Aster, what Bonaparte told you is a flat out lie. They have no information to speak of. They lied to you so you can come here to try and fullfil their horrible plans. Crowler and Bonaparte don't care about anyone but themselves. They were just using you." Red Hat explained.
Aster gave him a hard look. "So it seems. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out. From the way he was acting, to how he tried to use me before and Ijust told him off."
Red Hat was shocked at the fact Aster was able to figure out their fraud. "I was wondering Aster. Can you use your contracts and influnce of the pro league to blacklist Bonaparte and Crowler? Or at least deny any all contracts for them and use them to ruin any opportunities they try?"
Aster had to laugh at his statement. "Sorry to say, but that's not your call."
"But they are horrible people. They will do anything to get what they want. Even spread their horrible influnce to other people and sponsors of the pro league. I want to bring them down at any cost." Red Hat begged him.
"You're really naive. You still have a lot to learn about the business world. It's not as easy as you think." Aster then turned to look at him. "Besides, don't you know it's a self correcting problem?"
Red Hat looked at him confused. "What do you mean? I know Crowler and Bonaparte will try and bribe the Pro League to push some of their duelists onto the dueling world. The ones they want to see."
Aster furthered chuckled at his statment. "I'm not sure if you were paying attention. Even their combine salaries won't even come close for paying to become my sponsor. You're asking for brankruptcy trying to bribe out a successful Pro. If they try to push for what they calim to be their best, only to prove they're the biggest laughing stalk, they will inevitably fail and put more harm on their resumes."
Red Hat tried to couter what he said but remained silent for a bit. "It's just... I want to become the best Pro Duelist that anyone has ever known. However, I keep fearing standards will become so low, just to allow those that aren't worthy, or bribe their way to victory."
Aster sighed. "Perhaps you don't know this, but the Pro Leagues standards have increased in the past few years. Funny, because many took inspiration from a child prodigy. Where everyone started revaluating their tactics. So much, the standards have actually risen to separate the sloppy to the best Pros." Aster then began to walk away.
"Aster wait!" Red Hat called out, only for Aster to throw him a white card, which contained his signiture.
"I want to observe you. To see, if you really mean what you claim." He glance at him from his right shoulder. "Impress me, then maybe we'll talk and I'll tell you the story. Don't misunderstand, we're not friends, only acquittances. Do I make myself clear?"
Red Hat nodded. "That's all I wanted to hear... Thanks for the opportunity, Aster..." Red Hat runs off, back to his dorm.
Aster stayed put and slightly chuckled. 'You're a strange guy, you know that right? Someday you'll learn the realities of a Pro Duelist.' He thought as he began to walk away again.
A/N: This took way longer then expected. Main reason is cause, it was very tedious to make believable plays with Neo-Spacians. Neo-Spacians is one of the worst archetypes ever created. So much so, Konami constantly keeps giving it support as an apology at how unplayable old school Neos deck was. While Manga E HEROs are in Jaden's deck, only one of those fusion existed at the time of Tag Force 3. Tera Firma will not make an appearence. Just as a heads up.
I have different plans for future chapters as to do something new once we begin the take over. Especially once the field trip comes up which I will change things around. We'll get to that when we get there.
Certain themes will be changed around. It's called Legacy for a reason. Also, it's somewhat of an adaptaion of Tag Force and anime, but changed around. I do have to remind others, Red Hat isn't defined by one style or theme. While Chaos is his main style and represents his wild nature, but has good intentions. He doesn't put up with others he views as horrible but, misunderstands many things himself.
As of the time I'm posting this. I reached 200 followers. Never thought I'd have this much of a following, since I just thought this (Origianlly crack fic) would just be forgotten about or cause many wouldn't really understand what I want to try out. Cause of the many don't seem to understand, I'm using real cards only and 8000 LP to set an example and to show, yes, you don't have to heavily handicap yourself to anime LP and using anime cards or custom cards to make duels entertaining. Thanks for all the support I do read comments and I even somethimes help others if you seen me comment on other people's fanfic. Normally it's not my place to make comments, but I just can't help myself sometimes. I will complete this fan fic. I've come this far, so I'll keep pushing forward. That's a promise I tend to keep.
