Paradox Brothers Return - Tag Team Duel
It had now gone a few days since Jaden defeated Aster in their rematch. While Jaden was happy to reunite with his friends again. Red Hat on the other hand, remained in his room. Quietly thinking about what transpired between him and Aster.
'Just what did he mean by self correcting problem?' He thought, looking through his 'cursed' deck.
Red Hat didn't understand what he meant by self correction. For as long as he could remember. Many corrupt folks that ran either the Academy, The Pro League, or just regional tournaments, were known to gatekeep many great duelists from many leagues and the pros in order to promote the ones they wanted. Despite many of them turn out to be failures by anyone with any semblence of standards. Even when he was a kid, he was despised for playing only powerful cards. Which showed the entitlment of many duelists.
Which begged the question. Did the Pro League actually increased their standards? While many pros, back when he used to participate in regional tournaments, did revaluate their stance on what was considered the most effective strategies. Many of those duelist would rather live in the past. He never understood why people always handicapped themselves by using a deck based on a theme. Then again... he was one to talk. He always plays the same decks, with only slight alterations every now and then. Very rarely he experimented with other decks or strategies.
'If it's true that the Pro League raised their standards... Then, everything I'm doing is just adding problems onto myself. I don't have pull all those stunts anymore...' He sighed and layed down on his bed. He put away his cursed deck and took out two of the charmer cards.
'Feeling troubled again?' Aussa said as she sat down on the far side of his bunk bed. 'You know, if you ever have a problem. You can always talk to me.'
"If the Pro Leagues significantly raised their standards. Then, I don't really have to prove anything to anyone. They can try and head to the Pros the way they are. Only for them to be gatekept or not actually get anywhere." He expained with a sour look.
'I fail to see why you're trying so hard to prove this to everyone. You've done everything you have to prove, yet it's not enough.' Aussa pointed out as she adjusted her glasses. 'Explain to me. What purpose does it serve you to constantly try and prove to everyone that you're unbeatable and you're more then ready?'
"What those baffons where trying to do. They wanted to throw me and the others out for being Slifer Red and promote their Obelisk branch. Yet, none of the Obelisk pare in comparrison to me, Jaden, or even Bastion and Hassleberry to an extent. So, what they tried to do made me angry. Plus..." He closed his eyes and sighed. "By staying in Slifer Red, I can prove to everyone that rank doesn't actually mean anything in this Academy if standards aren't enforced."
'Yet, in return for trying so hard. You been making more enemies.' Aussa gave him a cold stare. 'You say those people ridicule this dorm and it's students. Yet, you ridicule them for the opposite reasons. If what you just explained to me is true. Then why do you continue with your self-righteous mentality.'
"Supposidly, if those Obelisk Blues don't measure up to the standards. Either by dueling or general grades. Then they get demoted. Same applies to Ra Yellow. Yet, that never happens. Obelisk always stay the same, yet what these wakos are trying to do, is promote or expell Slifer Reds." He glared and punched the wood on the second bunk bed. "I'm sure they'll move the goal post to remove Ra Yellow. Why else are they so biased to Obelisk Blue. It's why I'm trying so hard to put them down."
'And look what that's gotten you. You made many enemies, they want nothing to do with you, some even fear you, and others would rather avoid you.' Aussa glared at him after see his previous action. 'Is that what you want? To be treated like some who is meant to be feared?'
"I don't care what they have to say to me. Their comments mean nothing since they can't actually defeat me." Red Hat soon began to fall asleep.
'You're so stuborn.' Aussa sighed and stood up. 'You say all that, but I can tell that's not really true.'
'You can say that again.' Wynn said as she appeared next to her. 'He's lying to himself. He wants people to actually see him as the best and someone to look up to. However, since he never got such recognition, he descides to retaliate by trashing his opponents.'
'While he's been calming down as of late. He still can't put up with things or let go.' Aussa steps off and took a glance at the cursed deck. 'He'll have to learn to let go and just let some things run their course. His method of solving problems is too wild and drastic.'
'Last thing we want is a disaster, both for this realm and many spirits.' Wynn added. 'I don't trust the Dark World fiends to keep their word.'
'I don't either, but there's nothing we can do about it for the time being.' Aussa stated as she glanced at Red Hat's sleeping form. 'All we can do is guide him and hope he doesn't go berserk. That curse mark gave him a dark power.'
'We know what's it's for. We'll tell him soon enough when the time comes.' Wynn acknowledged.
Both girls nodded and retreated back to the spirit realm. Leaving Red Hat to sleep in peace, despite the fact it was already afternoon.
Meanwhile in the Conference Room
Crowler and Bonaparte were glaring at each other. Both parties have been arguing for quite some time. Miss Fontaine and Professor Sartyr sat at the other side of the large table, while three duel proctors, one of them being Professor Mimicry sat at the other side of the table.
Crowler looked at Bonaparte. "What do you mean you will eliminate Slifer Red?!"
Bonaparte got a smirk on his face. "There is no longer a necessite for Slifer Red in our academy!"
"And on what basis are you saying such a thing?"
Bonaparte sat bak down, glaring at Crowler. "From now on, our Academy shall push forward as a school for the elite! When doing so, we have no need for rotten oranges!"
Crowler gasped at what he was implying. "Y-You are mistaken! They are not rotten arance! I will not let you eliminate them!"
Professor Minicry sighed at their lack of salf awareness. "With all do respect. Your so called elite duelist that you're trying to promote, aren't doing very well. Satistically, their dueling performance won't do them good in the future. If anything, some of the best are staying in Slifer Red. Yet you done nothing to demote those with subpar dueling performance to Slifer Red in both Obelisk dorms."
"Shut it, you senile professor! You don't know what you're talking about!" Bonaparte shot back.
Minicry glared and gritted his teeth. "Senile?! Your Obelisk Blue students aren't meeting up to standards! That's asuming you enforce said standards and aren't incredibly biased against Slifer Red and Ra Yellow!"
"Oh please, your dorm contains the biggest slacker in the entire school and a delinquent with no shame or guilt! It's clear, you don't see the rightful skill of the elites.' Bonaparte argued.
"That's enough out of you, Bonaparte!" Crowler snapped. "And anway, it makes me sick, Vice-Chancellor, how you speak with all of your assertive, egotistico french talk!"
"Hah! Likewise with yourself and your transparent italian talk, Temporary!" Bonparte shot back. Both of them glared at each other before Bonaparte sat back down. "You speak so much of these dropout boys and yet what bon would they be now? If you oppose their elimination, please clearly state your reasons for doing so! In 400 words that is."
Crowler looked at him shocked before he sat down with an irritated expression. "Er, at any rate, I will not let you do as you like, Bonaparte!"
Bonaparte placed his hands under his chin with a confident smirk on his face. "If you do not have a legitime reason, then Slifer Red shall be eliminated!"
Crowler gritted his teeth. 'Oh my, that little...' He thought, irritated that Bonaparte continued with his threats.
Little did they know. A certain former Slifer Red had been overhearing their entire conversation.
Back at Slifer Red
The gang had gathered outside of the Slifer dorm, when they heard Syrus yelling. He stood in front of them and tried to catch his breath. He ahd managed to inform them aout the argument between Crowler and Bonaparte he had overheard.
"Wha?! Slifer Red's getting demolished?!" Jaden cried out.
"That's impossible!" Bastion shook his head. "Bonaparte is quite determined to go through with it."
"That's quite the shock, private!" Hassleberry said.
"Bastards..." Red Hat muttered to himself.
"Is that really true?" Alexis asked.
Syrus looked troubled. "It's true. Temporary Chancellor Crowler tried his best to go against it, but with Vice-Chancellor Bonaparte just keeps overpowering him..."
Bastion had a disapointed look on his face. "Good grief. Talk about someone you can't rely on at such a crucial time."
"Only proves, Crowler is a coward, and doesn't actually stand up for anything. Also, the Chancellor should not roll over to the Vice Chancellor. Further showing he's incompetent..." Red Hat added.
They all then look in the direction towards the main building as they heard arguing. They saw how Crowler and Bonaparte came towards them with their Duel Vests on. Since Bonaparte was much shorter, his had a wheel that had been added, so it wouldn't get stuck in the ground. Both fo them were bickering at each other along the way.
Crowler looked at him. "In any case, you can be sure that I will not allow you to eliminate Slifer Red!"
Bonaparte shot him a glare. "No, it shall be eliminated! At this rate, we will not come to an accord."
Crowler closed his eyes and walked with his arms crossed. "So, shawl we decide this with a duello?"
Bonaparte nodded. "It would be my plaisir."
Syrus looked troubled. Oh man, this is turning into something big..."
"Those two are setting this with a duel?" Alexis questioned.
"Didn't see that coming..." Red Hat muttered, still frowning.
"Vice Chancellor Bonparte skills are unknown..." Bastion acknowledged.
Jaden stood up, excited to see a duel once more. "I wonder what kind of duel it'll be? I really want to check it out!"
While everyone in the group sighed. Red Hat merly chuckled. "Classic Jaden. Alright, I'll get some stuff from my room before I watch this match."
As Red Hat ran back to his room. Chazz, who saw the entire exchange, sighed and walked into one of the empty rooms. "Pathetic, the Slifer dorm will soon be gone and all on the island will see the light." He then grabbed a bucket with white paint as he continued to paint while laughing.
Red Hat entered his room ad gt his duel disk ready and two of his decks ready. Something in Red Hat's gut told him, Bonaparte will not be keeping his word that he'll back off if he's defeated. If anything, Bonaparte will come up with a different scheme to try and get rid of the Slifer Red dorm. Just to make sure he didn't try anything funny. He took out a back pack and filled it up with various decks he's made and decks he no longer uses. It was only then Red Hat heard movment from outside. He took a look and noticed a vehicle with a large shovel.
'So there's a catch after all. Typical... something isn't right.' Red Hat thought as he exited his room and made is way to where the gang was.
As he made it, he overheard the bickering and groaed. 'Why am I not surprised. These two don't actually care about us or the dorm. Crowler just wants to appear as the good guy.'
"Something on your mind, Red Hat?" Jaden asked.
"Nothing really... I just hope Bonaparte get's puts down." He replied.
Both Crowler and Bonaparte began their duel. After Bonaparte finished his turn, Crowler began his turn. Red Hat narrowed his eyes at his play. What could Bonaparte possible plan with such a monster known as Toy Soldier. It wasn't until Crowler activated Premature Burial, the vehicle began to move and used a power shovel to smash the dorm, destroying part of the wall.
Jaden looked shocked. "W-What's the deal here?!"
"Destroying our dorm already, you worthless meat sack!" Red Hat called out.
"I'd watch what you say, delinquent scum!" Bonaparte warned. "I shall be destroying the Red Dorm everytime Crowler's LP is depleted!"
"Damn you... I would tackle you right now if I could..." Red Hat muttered.
The duel continued as normal. While Crowler was able to summon his ace monster, Acnient Gear Golem. It was soon forced into defense mode and Crowler took damage, then Bonaparte forced to stay in defense mode.
'Circumstancial doesn't come close.' He thought, and more of Slifer Red was being torn apart by the power shovel.
"This Slifer Red is nothing but old and easy to break before the perfect elite, just like rotten oranges!"
"Why you..." Red Hat growled. "None of your so called elite can beat me. If anything you're just as an incompetent fool as they are!"
"Keep this up, and I'll make sure you'll be the first to go once I win this." Bonaparte threaten.
"Red Hat... please calm down. You're only making it worse on yourself." Bastion pleaded.
"Tch... fine." Red Hat remained silent, least for now.
The duel continued once Crowler ended his turn. Soon, Bonaparte continued the pressure by summoning more Toy Soldiers thanks to Toy Soldier's effect. after what felt like some incredibly underwhelming plays. Bonaparte attacked Crowler directly. Bypassing Gear Golem, since he had no actualy way of dealing with it. More of the dorm was being destroyed. So much so, Red Hat'sroom was already destroyed, while part's of Chazz's room was broken down.
'There's a reason I took my stuff out. Something like this would happen.' Red Hat thought, as he kept tabs on his backpack. 'Never was a fan of demolition...'
"I can not afford to lose... I believe education is about developing the individualita of the student!" Crowler stated as he slowly got back on his feet from the onsalut.
The entire gang sweat dropped at his statement. "Is this supposed to be touching, soldier?" Hasslebery questioned.
"It is..." Syrus replied with uncertainty.
"...It's hard to be touched, huh?" said Jaden.
'I find this more sad then anything.' Red Hat thought, not even wanting to make sense at the scene at hand.
Bonaparte would continue to make plays. Only to then end his turn with another facedown.
Bonaparte chuckled. "I have throughly researched all of your tactics, Temporarie Crowler!"
"Have you? You have no cards in your hand. Your deck is reliant on a bunch of circunstancial traps. One Jinzo or Mobius the Frost Monarch will completely shut you down." Red Hat pointed.
"Who said I was researching you in the first place?" Bonaparte reminded him. "Besides, do you really think he's smart enough to run either of those cards you mentioned?"
Red Hat gritted his teeth and remained quiet. 'This is why I love backrow removal or stun cards. I never trust facedowns.'
After constant bickering between Bonaparte and Crowler, with Jaden encouraging Crowler to step up his game. Red Hat questioned why Jaden would encourage Crowler, besides to cheer him on. He never really found Crowler's lessons important or appealing. It also felt comical to him, that Crowler would learn something from Jaden. Before, he wouldn't dare listen to anything Jaden would say. At most he'd brush him off and ignore him.
'I wonder though... Do you actually take that knowledge to heart? Or are you just using that now to make yourself look better by comparison.' Red Hat thought, still glaring at the two.
The duel continued going, as Crowler then began making his comeback. Summoning Ancient Gear Soldier and with his specific equip spell card. Thanks to Ancient Gear's effect's, Bonaparte was unable to activate backrow until the end of the damage step.
'You said you studied up on Crowler, yet you forget Battle traps are useless against Ancient Gears. That's why I don't play battle traps very often. I rather use other traps.' Red Hat observed.
"If your going to destroy, Vice-Chancellor Bonaparte, then I will repair and rebuild!" Crowler looked at the few workers. "Come on, carpenters!"
The gang looked in shock as they immediately went to work, and was a bit amazed since the dorm was quickly being restored to how it used to be, before Bonaparte began destroying the dorm. Red Hat couldn't help but chuckle a little. If Crowler lost LP, then the dorm gets broken down. If Bonaparte lost LP then the carpenters would repair a lot of the dorm that was broken down. He didn't know why, but he found this rather amusing.
Bonparted started his turn and summoned Toy Emperor using a specific spell card. Red Hat raised an eyebrow at this. Does it have to e summoned by the spell, or can he just tribute summon it? Summoning from deck is nice, but to his knowledge, summoning from deck should be versitile, not specific. It didn't matter anyway, as Bonparte's monster destroyed Ancient Gear Soldier with the equip card. Whch cause both of them to take damage.
Part of the dorm was ripped apart once more, only to be immediately fixed afterwards. Bonaparte used his Emperor effect to add a trap from his deck to his hand. Only ti then, immediately set it facedown on the field.
'Adding a trap from the deck sounds good in theory, until you realize, that's telling your opponent, 'Hey, I have a trap card can you please do insert action?' It's why I don't find trap recycling useful either. Besides, mind games with traps only get you so far.' Red Hat observed.
After a bit of bikering between both parties. Crowler was able to breakthrough Bonaparte's defenses, disabling his trap, thanks to Ancient Gear Engineer's effect. Setting Ancient Gear Golem free from it's shackles. Crowler activated Zero Gravity and changed battle positions. Now, Crowler indeed had game.
'That's one way to do it, I guess?' Red Hat thought, finding this rather amusing for the wrong reasons.
Bonaparte took a step back. "There is no entry in my dictionary for 'defeat', of all-"
Crowler glared at him. "Then, you simply etch it in, shouldn't you? Furthermore, you will now regret referring to my students as abnormal, rotten arance!"
'Now, if only you took that to heart, instead of pretending, just to look good in front of everyone...' Red Hat thought as he sweat dropped at the confession.
Soon, Ancient Gear Golem would destroy Toy Emperor and knock out Bonaparte as his LP was reduced to zero. Bonaparte cried out, unable to believe he had just lost to Crowler despite being prepared. Still... he wasn't going to go down that easily! He still had one more card to play, just incase things would turn out this way.
"I won't stand for this!" Bonparte exclaimed as he got back on his feat.
"You're mistake, it's over Bonaparte!" Red Hat called out.
"A little history for you. When Napoleon was defeated, he didn't stayed down. If anything, he came back and regained his reign once more!" Bonaparte explained. "Don't think I didn't plan for such scenario! I still have one more trick up my sleave!"
"Just what are you up to now?"
"Simple, now you'll have to beat me in a duel!" Bonaparte offered. "Fail to comply and I'll tear down your dorm!"
Everyone, including Crowler groaned at his order. "You don't know when to give up! You been defeated and you still won't back down!" Hassleberry schemed.
"Fine, get your game on, Vice Chancellor Bonaparte!" Jaden offered.
Bonaparte wagged his finger. "Ah, ah, ah, you won't be the one to duel!" Bonaparte then pointed at Red Hat. "He'll be the one to duel."
Red Hat then got a cheeky grin. "You want to be humiliated that badly? Then I'll gladly tear you apart!"
"Now now, who ever said I was going to duel?" Bonaparted clarified. "I brought some help on this matter." Bonparte blew a whistle to call out for someone.
At first, nothing happened for a bit. Soon enough, two men jumped onto the area. They did a series of flips and then landed on the field opposite of the gang and went to Bonapartes aid. They looked almost identical. They were bald in chinese robes, one wearing orange and the other green. They had Chinese symbols on their foreheads.
"We are the wondering guards... Para and Dox!"
"The Paradox Brothers!" Jaden and Syrus cried out.
"Bonaparte.. you didn't!" Crowler replied, equally as shocked.
Bonaparte laughed maniacally. "I invited them over! Just in case I needed a last resort!"
"You called in professional duelist! Pretty dirty if you ask me!" Hassleberry called out.
"To think, the Paradox Brothers would return..." Bastion added with his eyes widened.
Red Hat remained silent at the whole exchange. Jaden and Syrus somehow dueled these two before. While he didn't know the full context of their duel with them. Right now, that wasn't important. Bonaparte invited professional duelist to specifically bring him down. While he wanted to test his skills on pros. This isn't what he had in mind. Still, there was no backing down now. He'll just have to take these two down. Although, he'll need a partner to help him out. As much as he hated to admit it. Dueling two pros alone was suicidal.
"Fine, I'll take those two down... But not without a little help." Red Hat turned and pointed to Alexis. "Alexis, care to join me in a tag duel?"
Alexis was shocked at this. "Me? But why me of all people?"
Red Hat thought about it for a moment. "I recall you were originally chosen to duel against Aster Phoenix before Jaden and I interfered. So, I was thinking, why not join me in a tag duel and take out these two pros. Besides..." Red Hat took out a specific deck and placed it in his duel disk slot. "Judging by Jaden and Syrus reaction. They duel them before. So, I had an idea you would have some knowledge about them. That,a nd Bonarparte would allow them to join me in a duel. Not that I want Syrus to team with me in the first place."
"Hey!"
"I see then..." Alexis came over as she got her own duel disk and deck ready. "While it's true, I did observe them before last year. Guess now It will be my chance to show them what I can do!"
"Now we're talking." Red Hat turned to face the Paradox Brothers. "Alright, let's duel you two!" He announced as both him and Alexis readied their duel disks.
"We do not have any grudge against you..." Para clarified.
"But it seems we are to duel..." Dox said.
"If you do not defeat us..." Para said.
"It is all over for you!" Dox finished.
"Let's duel!" The Paradox Brothers activated their duel disks at the same time. Bonaparte walked away, not wanting to be in their way, chuckling to himself.
The Paradox Brothers: 8000 LP
Red Hat & Alexis: 8000 LP
"Go get em' you two!" Jaden cheered.
"Yeah, take them down!" Syrus cheered as well.
"You can do it! We believe in you!" Bastion encouraged.
"Show them your manuvers!" Hassleberry added.
"You ready? Ladies first, I draw!" Alexis draws.
Hand 6
"First I summon Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands in attack mode! (Atk: 1400 Def: 1000)" Manju appeared onto the field. "It's effect allows me to add a ritual monster or a ritual spell card from my deck tomy hand. I'll add the ritual spell Machine Angel Ritual to my hand. Next, I set one card facedown and ned my turn." Alexis ends her turn.

"This won't be the same like last time! I draw!" Para draws.
Hand 6
"I play the spell card Foolish Burial! I send one monster from my deck to the graveyard." Para looked through his deck and send a paticular monster to the graveyard. "I set one monster facedown and another card facedown. That's it for me." Para ends his turn.
Hand 3
"It's go time. My turn, I draw!" Red Hat draws.
Hand 6
Red Hat took a look at his hand and sweat dropped. 'Dang... all monsters, no spells or traps.' He observed, trying his best to hide his bad hand. "I summon Breaker the Magical Warrior in attack mode! (Atk: 1600 Def: 1100)" Breaker emerged onto the field. "His effect, he gains a spell counter that gives him 300 more attack points. But, that doesn't matter, since I'm going to use that spell counter to destroy your facedown!" Breaker's sword glowed blue and unleashed a beam that destroyed Para's facedown.
"Battle, Breaker attack his facedown monster!" Breaker leaps forward and slashed the facedown monster, revealing to be Spear Cretin. (Atk: 500 Def: 500)
"You fool, you activated Spear Cretin's effect! When he's sent to the graveyard after being flipped face up, both of us are allowed to special summon a monster from our graveyard in face up attack position or facedown defense position!" Para explained as a gust of wind came by. "Thanks to you I can special summon, Kazegin! (Atk: 2400 Def: 2000)" A green head with a strange symbol of it aand a pair of arms appeared in a gust of wind.
"Tch, so it would seem. Since we don't have anything, we can't summon. I end my turn." Red Hat ends his turn.

"One is up, and two more to go. I draw!" Dox draws.
Hand 6
"I play the spell card Graceful Charity! I draw 3 cards, then I discard 2!" Dox draws his cards and discards Suijin and Card Trader. "I summon Kaiser Sea Horse! (Atk: 1700 Def: 1650)" A blue and purple aquatic warrior wih a double ended spear and a shield stood up on Dox's field. "We shawl now do battle! Kaiser Sea Horse attack his Breaker the Magical Warrior!" Kaiser Sea Horse readied it's spear andcharged right in.
"Oh no you don't! I activate the trap card, Mirror Force! This destroys both of your attack position monsters!" Alexis announced as she flipped over her trap.
"Silly girl, I chain the quick play spell card, My Body as a Shield! When a card would destroy monsters on our field. I pay 1500 LP to negate your card and destroy it!" Marauding Captain appeared and took the blast from Mirror Force as it was stopped. Kaiser Sea Horse continued it's assault and destroyed Breaker the Magical Warrior.

The Paradox Brothers: 8000 - 6500 LP
"Kazejin, attack that Manju!" Dox commanded as the green monster and launched a powerful blast of winds from it's mouth, destroying the Manju.
Red Hat & Alexis: 7900 - 6900 LP
"The duel just started..." Para said tauntingly.
"And yet it is almost done." Dox filled in.
"For your demise has already begun." They spoke the last part simultaneously.
"Don't get ahead of yourselves. We still got plenty of fight with us left!" Alexis called out.
"You think your taunts scare us? Please, we are not like previous opponents!" Red Hat added.
"I set one card facedown and end my turn." Dox ended his turn.
Hand 3
"Alright, let's do this! I draw!" Alexis draws.
Hand 6
"What ever you do, don't attack Kazejin or it's other similiar monsters. They will reduce our monsters attack to zero once if they're attacked." Red Hat pointed out.
"You don't have to tell me twice. I play the equip card, Snatch Steal! With this, I equip it to Kazejin and take control of it! So much for one of your pieces!" Alexis smirked as she she was about to take control of said monster.
"You won't be stealing anything! I chain the quick play spell, Book of Moon! With this, Kazejin is turn to facedown defense position! Your spell card fizzles out!" Dox explained as Kazejin disappeared as it's card was placed facedown. Forcing Snatch Steal to fizzle out and missing it's target.
"Well then, guess I'll have to find another way. I set this monster facedown and end my turn." Alexis ends her turn.

"At last, a smart move. My draw!" Para draws.
Hand 4
"I play the spell card Pot of Greed!" Para draws his two cards. "I flip summon Kazejin, then I play Monster Reborn and bring back one of the monsters that my brother discarded. Welcome to the field, Suijin! (Atk: 2500 Def: 2400)" A blue monster that looked like a pair of legs with a head in the mid section, on which was another strange symbol, appeared on the field. "And I'm not done yet. Mind if I borrow a monster, brother?"
"Please, that's why he's there."
"I tribute Kaiser Sea Horse!" The named monster covered in dark fire as Para spoke.
"Let me guess... another level 7 monster?" Red Hat guessed with a narrowed look.
"How right you are. Which mean I am now able to summon, Sanga of the Thunder. (Atk: 2600 Def: 2200)" A brown and red torso with arms and a face in the middle materialized next to the blue monster.
"I know what brother, when they come together as one. I tribute Kazejin, Suijin, and Sanga of the Thunder so I can special summon the Ultimate monster; Gate Guardian! (Atk: 3750 Def: 3400)" The three monsters were surrounded by light and when it faded, there stood a giant creature. It's upper body and arms were made of Sanga, the mid section was Kazejin without it's arms and Suijin was the legs.
"Not him again!" Syrus exclaimed.
"That's the same monster we had to battle, huh Syrus?" Jaden added, reminding them the last time they encountered that monster.
"You summoned a near impossible monster. You deserve an achivment right there." Red Hat taunted. 'You're lucky I didn't draw spot removal...' He thought that last part.
'Just attack my facedown. You'll be in for a surprise.' Alexis thought with a smile.
"Just to make sure you don't pull anything, I play the equip spell card, Fairy Meteor Crush! Now, by equiping him to Gate Guardian, he can now do piercing battle damage!" Para announced as his equip was played.
"This is going to hurt..." Alexis muttered.
"Battle, Gate Guardian attack her facedown monster! Tidal Surge Attack!" The bottom part gathered water, while the upper harnessed electricity. The mid section combined the two elements with wind and it came towards Alexis' facedown monster. The monster was revealed to be Marshmallon. While it couldn't be destroyed in battle. The attack passed through the marshmallow-like monster and attacked Alexis. (Atk: 300 Def: 500)
Red Hat & Alexis: 6900 - 3650 LP
Alexis recovered from the blast. "I may have taken damage, but Marshmallon has it's effect. Since you attacked it while it was facedown, you take 1000 effect damage this turn!" Mashmallon released a jolt of electricity and shocked Para directly after it was attacked.
The Paradox Brothers: 6500 - 5500 LP
"No matter, it's a small price to pay to deal massive damage to you."
"And the bad news is, it only gets worse."
"Damage means nothing if you can't protect your monster from any spot removal!" Red Hat pointed out.
"I can't wait to see you try, soI will end my turn with a facedown." Para challenged as he ended his turn.
Hand 0
"Hope you got something in that hand of yours. Otherwise, we can kiss the red dorm goodbye." Alexis reminded him.
"I don't intend to loose..." Red Hat looked at his deck. 'If there was a time I needed a destiny draw. It's right here and now!' He thought as he sweat dropped. As he was about to draw, he felt Aussa's hand touch his... somehow. 'Aussa?'
'Don't get so riled up. Even in a pinch, you'll always have our support.' She said. 'Show them what you can do.'
Red Hat nodded. "Very well... I draw!" Red Hat draws.
Hand 6
'Yes! This is what I needed!' He thought with a smile and he took a glace at Aussa. "I play the spell card Graceful Charity! I draw 3 cards then I discard 2!" He draws his cards and discards Treeborn Frog and Sangan. 'Just what I needed. Thank you.' He thought as he continued. "Alexis, mind if I use your Marshmallon?"
Alexis nodded. "If you have a plan, then go right on ahead. I hope you know what you're doing."
"I certainly do. I tribute Marshmallon to tribute summon Zaborg the Thunder Monarch! (Atk: 2400 Def: 1000)" With a massive lightning strike, Zaborg emerged onto the field. "Zaborg's effect, when he's tribute summoned, he can destroy one monster on the field! So that Gate Guardian goes bye bye!" Zaborg launched a powerful lightning blast at the Gate Guardian, destryoing it in a flash.
"Gte Guardian is cooked!" Para said.
"I can hadly look." Dox said.
"That's one problem out of the way. Nice going there." Alexis congratulated.
"Right, but we're not out of the woods yet. Zaborg attack Para directly!" Zaborg laucnhed another lightning strike.
"You're not attacking me twice. Go trap card, Widespread Ruin! With this, your strongest monster get's blown up!" A mine appeared in the middle of the field. As Zaborg attacked the mine, it detonated and caused an explosion that destroyed him. "You have no monsters left. Your downfall has only just begun."
"Don't think you've won yet. I set two cards facedown and end my turn." Red Hat ends his turn.

"You'll regret destroying our guardian. I draw!" Dox draws.
Hand 4
"I play the spell Pot of Greed!" Dox draws his cards. "I play the spell card, Premature Burial! By paying 800 LP we can bring back a monster! I'll bring back, Sanga of the Thunder! (Atk: 2600 Def: 2200)" Sanga of the Thunder remerged onto the field.
The Paradox Brothers: 5500 - 4700 LP
"Battle, Sanga of the Thunder attack him directly!" Sanga of the Thunder conjures a massive lightning bolt and launches it at Red Hat.
"I'll weaken the damage. Go continuous trap, Call of the Haunted! I'll bring back my Sangan I discarded with Graceful Charity! (Atk: 1000 Def: 600)" Sangan returns from the grave, only to get blasted by lightning.
Red Hat & Alexis: 3650 - 2050 LP
"Sangan's effect allows me to add a monster with 1500 or fewer attack points. I'll add Dandylion to my hand!" Red Hat explained as he added his card.
"If you have have a change to summon it! I set this facedown. No more, no less." Dox ends his turn.

"I'm done playing around. It's my turn, I draw!" Alexis draws.
Hand 5
"I summon Senju of the Thousand Hands in attack mode! (Atk: 1400 Def: 1000)" Senju appears onto the field. "His effect allows me to add a ritual monster from my deck to my hand. I'll choose this one, Cyber Angel Dakini. Next I'll play the ritual spell, Machine Angel Ritual! With this I tribute Sengu on my field and Etolie Cyber in my hand to ritual summon Cyber Angel Dakini! (Atk: 2700 Def: 2400)" A blue warrior in orange body armor appeared onto the field. She had four arms, two of them were carrying twin swords with she was also holding a staff with her other two. "Dakini's effect activates. When's she special summoned, you have to destroy one of your monsters, your choice. However, since you only control one monster, you have no other other choice." Alexis smirked as Dakini fired a blast from her staff that hit Sanga of the Thunder and destroyed it.
"Battle, Dakini attack him directly!" Dakini moved towards Dox to attack him.
"You won't be landing a strike! I activate the continuous trap card, Call of the Haunted! With this we bring back Suijin! (Atk: 2500 Def: 2200)" Suijin returns onto the field.
"Dang, Dakini, stop your attack!" Dakini disengaged and return back to her position. "I set one card facedown and end my turn." Alexis ends her turn.

"If you even have a next turn. I draw!" Para draws.

"I play the equip spell card, Snatch Steal! So I take control of your monster!" As Para tried to take control of Alexis' monster.
"No way I'm letting take Dakini! I chain the quick play spell, Mystical Space Typhoon! Your Snatch Steal equip spell card is destroyed!" Powerful winds emerged and immediately destroyed the equip spell.
"You're trying do hard, but remember, you can't attack either of our level 7 monsters." Para reminded.
"He's right, so long as they still have those level 7 monsters. They can bring them back to stop attacks. Since when you attack them once, their monsters attack points become zero when they're attacked, once per time they're on the field." Bastion explained.
"In other words, they're in a stale mate, son." Hassleberry said
"You're only delying your demise. I end my turn." Para ebnds his turn.

"We won't be pushed around! I draw!" Red Hat draws.

"I set a monster facedown and end my turn." Red Hat ends his turn.

'The card I drew may help later. Not now though... dang bricks.' He thought as he observed his hand. Still having two unsuable monsters at the moment. One of them would most likely help his opponent out, rather then him.
"It's my turn, I draw!" Dox draws.

"I set a monster facedown, then I play the continuous spell card Messanger of Peace! Now, neither of us can attack with monsters who have 1500 or more attack points!" Dox said as the spell card created a forcefiled around the strogest monsters. "I set one card facedown end my turn here." Dox ends his turn.

"Trying to stall your way out? Then I'll just to stop you right now I draw!" Alexis draws her card.
Hand 2
"I play Pot of Greed!" Alexis draws her cards. "I summon Sangan in atack mode! (Atk: 1000 Def: 600)" Sangan appears on the field. "Next, I play the Ritual spell Machine Angel Ritual! With this, I tribute Sangan and Dandylion on Red Hat's side on the field to ritual summon Cyber Angel Idaten! (Atk: 1600 Def: 2000)" A woman with plae purple skin appeared on the field. She had a dark magenta headdress and a sheer tutu around her waist with only a black bra to cover her chest. She kneeled dow and crossed her arms. "Three different effects activate at the moment. Sangan's effect allows me to add a monster with 1500 or fewer attack points. I'll add Blade Skater to my hand. Dandylion's effect summons two fluff tokens appear in it's place! (Atk: 0 Def: 0 X2)" Two fluff tokens appeared on the field as Alexis added her monster. "Now Idaten's effect kicks in. When she's special summoned, I'm allowed to add a spell card from my graveyard. I'll choose to add back Pot of Greed, just to activate it again." Alexis draws her cards again after she just added back her spell card.
"Draw as much as you like. It won't mean a thing!" Dox taunted.
"I heard that before, like so many times." Red Hat fought the urge to roll his eyes at that tired statement.
"For my last move, I'll play The Warrior Returning Alive! I'll back Etoile Cyber from my grave back to my hand." Alexis adds back her monster. "With nothing else to play I'll end my turn." Alexis ends her turn.

'I would summon her to get rid of their continuous spell card, but Dandylion Tokens prevent me from tributing them for a tribute summon the turn they are special summoned. I would have recovered MST from my graveyard, but then what if I triggered a Judgement of Anubis? If that's their facedown, then we'd lose immediately. Still, what's Red Hat's facedown? Could it help?' Alexis observed the field and carely tried to figure out their options.
"It's your funeral, I draw!" Para draws.

"First up, I pay 100 LP to keep our continuous spell in play!"
The Paradox Brothers: 5500 - 5400 LP
I summon Giga-Tech Wolf in attack mode! (Atk: 1200 Def: 1400)" A mechanical wolf emerged onto the field. "Next, I flip summom The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion in attack mode! (Atk: 1000 Def: 1600) A dark orb of multiple materials, mostly spikes, was revealed onto the field.
'Those two can bypass Messanger of Peace. Just to destroy our tokens...' Red Hat took notice.
"We shawl do battle! Giga-Tech Wolf destroy that first token!" The mechanical wolf let out a roar and pounced on the token, destroying it. "Now, Hex-Sealed attack the second token!" The Hex-Sealed charged in and slamed itself at the second token and destroyed it. "Now, time for a little bit of fusion! I tribute The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusio and Giga-Tech Wolf to special, the fusion monster Labyrinth Tank! (Atk: 2400 Def: 2400)" Both monsters soon disappeared and were replaced with a large purple tank which was equiped with a large oranged drill, covered in four spikes, followed by multiple drills around the machine.
"So that's their idea. By stalling with Messanger of Peace, they can build up a big enough field of monsters to overpower that Dakini." Bastion pointed out. "So long as they have those Gate Guardian pieces on the field. They can't attack it, otherwise, they'll lose the duel."
"They have to get rid of that spell card and that monster. That's a tall order already." Hassleberry said.
"We won't be stopped like this! I draw!" Red Hat draws.
Hand 4
"I play the spell card Lightning Vortex! By discarding a card, all monsters on your field are destroyed!" Red Hat discards Cyber Jar and then powerful lightning destroyed both monsters.
Both brothers covered their faces from the destruction. "You'll pay for your insolence!" Both brothers replied.
"You act like I care. I end my turn." Red Hat ends his turn.

"You'll regret that. It's my turn, I draw!" Dox draws.

"I'll pay 100 LP to keep Messanger of Peace on the field!"
The Paradox Brothers: 5400 - 5300 LP
"I set one card facedown. With that, I end my turn." Dox ended his turn.

"You're stalling tactics won't get you far! It's my turn, I draw!" Alexis draws.
Hand 4
"I tribute Cyber Angel Idaten to tribute summon Cyber Prima in attack mode! (Atk: 2300 Def: 1600) A woman wearing a skintight grey catsuit, a strnage mask over her eyes, and having lonng platinum hair emerged onto the field. "When Prima is tribute summoned, all face up spell cards are destroyed. So Messanger of Peace is destroyed!" The woman unleashed a flash of light that briefly blinded the Paradox Brothers as their Messanger of Peace was destroyed.
"With at out of the way. I play Monster Reborn! With this I can bring back Cyber Angel Idaten to the field! (Atk: 1600 Def: 2000)" Idaten returns back onto the field. "Her effect triggers again, I'll add back Pot of Greed and I'll use it again." Alexis draws her cards and smirks. "This duel is officialy over. I play the spell card Heavy Storm! All spells and traps are destroyed!"
"It's the end, but for you! I activate the counter trap, Judgmnent of Anubis! By discarding one card, your spell card is negated and destroyed. Then we get to destroy a monster on your field and you take damage equal to it's attack! Say goodbye!" Dox discards his card and Heavy Storm was about to be negated until...
"You didn't think Alexis would recklessly use a backrow destruction card would she? I activate my own Counter Trap, Solem Judgment! We pay half our LP to negate Judgment of Anubis! We get the last laugh this time!" Red Hat declared as the old man emerged and blasted the counter trap with a blast of holy light.
Red Hat & Alexis: 2050 - 1025 LP
"What is it with you and that counter trap you love so much?" Alexis asked, finding rather amusing Red Hat always saves that counter trap when he most needed it.
"Hey, sometimes I'm willing to wait for the right time. Other times, I love paying 4000 LP just to negate one thing, which often is enough to win the duel." Red Hat replied with a smirk.
"In this case, we indeed in fact won this duel." Alexis replied.
"No, it can't be!" The Paradox Brothers exclaimed, watching in horror as their backrow was destroyed by the heavy winds.
"I'm not done yet, I play the spell card Polymerization! Now I fuse Etoile Cyber and Blade Skater to fusion summon, Cyber Blader! (Atk: 2100 Def: 800)" Cyber Blader emerged from the fusion vortex.
"Now we have more then enough attack points! Time to battle, Cyber Prima attack them directly!" Cyber Prima spun herself and created a whirlwind before approaching The Paradox Brothers and then executed a double chop at Dox.
The Paradox Brothers: 5300 - 3000 LP
"I'm not done! Dakini, it's your turn to attack them directly!" Twirling her weapons around, Dakini attacked and slashed Para, casuing him to take a step back.
The Paradox Brothers: 3000 - 300 LP
"Now, time for the grand finally! Cyber Blader attack them directly! Whirlwind Rage!" The skater spun herself and formed a whirlwind around herself. When she reached her targets, she gave them a kick to the abdomen, one at a time. Depleteing their LP and forcing them on their knees.
The Paradox Brothers: 300 - 0 LP
The entire gang cheered for the two teammates. Bastion and Hasslebery came up to Red Hat and congradualted him, whileJaden and Syrus came up to Alexis to do the same thing. Crowler stepped forward, amazed at their teamwork despite their differences.
"This can not be..." Para said.
"How could we brothers have lost?" Dox said.
Bonaparte on the other hand, was not proud of this development. "How could you lose, you miserable chumps!"
"Guess your back up wasn't much use to you this time." Alexis said with a glare. "You've gone too far, Vice Chancellor Bonaparte!"
"How right, indeed." Crowler stepped in. "Bonaparte, you will back off from any other plans in trying to destroy this dorm. Try something like this again, I'll humilate you again!"
"It's not fair! My straegy was flawless!" Bonaparte cried out.
Soon the Paradox Brothers walke dup to him with smirks on their faces. "You do remember our payment?"
"Such request from us, is not cheap." Dox added.
"You'll be paying a hefty price." Para demanded.
Bonaparte gulped, not realized this was more effort then it was worth. Aster Phoenix was on to him and he wouldn't be able to get him involved again. So, this time, he decided to call forth the Paradox Brothers and duel for the destruction of the Red Dorm. Since Jaden and Syrus dueled them before, they would not be dueling them. Only for his plans to be foiled again, this time by Alexis Rhodes and that delinquent boy in the red hat. He relunctantly pulled out his wallet and paid a hefty price to the Paradox Brothers. Only for them to immediately take off once they have been paid. Not even bothering to stick around any longer.
"Try anything like this again, I'll be there to stop you, even with some extra help!" Red Hat called him out.
"Grr, you haven't seen the last of me!" Bonaparte flees and leaves the area in a rush. Not wanting to be part of this farce any longer.
The carpenters were finished rebuilding the dorm, and Dorthy and her assistant from the card shop were giving them food as a thank you for all their hard work. Professor Mimicry thanked Crowler for giving the Red Dorm a chance. He even usedsmall portions of the school's funding, with Crowler's permission to hand out aditional bunk beds and desks for the rooms that were destroyed.
Red Hat was glad that he took what little stuff he had left in that room. He knew his room would be the first one to go. While things would return to normal for the most part. He felt like something was very wrong, but he couldn't quite place his finger on it. Still, he was at least grateful his room was repaired. Last thing he wanted was putting up with Syrus and Hassleberry if he decided to stay in Jaden's room.
Jaden and the others looked at the newly rebuild Slifer Red Dorm. "Still, if it was getting repaired anyway... they could have made it a bit cooler, y'know?"
"It's the same as it was, huh?" Syrus questioned.
"You do not live in luxury, do you?" Crowler replied. "Such is perfetto for all of you, Signor."
"He's just all talk! He likes us and the Red Dorm!" Jaden acknowledged.
"I like the dorm the way it is." Red Hat said. "Besides, reminds me of home in a way. Nice and simple. Don't really like that fancy eye sore that's Obelisk Blue anyway."
"Oh please, you must be kidding." Crowler replied with a slight scowl on his face. "You have yet to experience such luxuries. And besides, who would like a Red full of dunces such as..." Crowler was interrupted whn Pharaoh the cat decided to sleep on his boot, causing Crowler to jump and scream with a look of pure horror on his face. Crowler began running away in the opposite direction fo the dorm. "Get that filthy beast away from me, GET IT AWAY FROM ME!"
Red Hat chuckled at the scene. "Some things never change, do they?" He asked to practically no one and decided to turn in for the day.
Later that Night
Jade was lying on his back on his bed with a troubled look on his face. He couldn't sleep very well, despite ot leaving his room since the dorm was rebuilt. Why was he feeling this troubled? He never acts like this. Very rarely under any circumstance was he unable to sleep. He just couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.
'You look troubled?' His duel spirit partner appeared next to him. 'Something on your mind? Usually you'd be sound asleep by now. Your dorm was spared from that assault and was even rebuilt.'
"I'm happy the dorm won't be torn down, but what's troubling me is that the fact Chazz has been actig very strange. If it's not him, it's the fact I've fought an Agent of Light before." He closed his eyes momentarily asd sighed. "Does this mean I'll be going into some fight I can't control?"
Aussa adjusted her glasses as she looked at him. 'I can't say for certain, but those Agents of Light won't stop there. Those Agents hate the darkness and it's users. While you're techincally not a user of said darkness, you were once a user of Chaos. To them, they consider you a threat by using said chaos and the fact you're now a pawn to The Dark Ruler.'
"Does this have something to do with the curse mark I've been given? And the fact I've been keeping the Dark World deck a secret from the others?"
'I'm sorry to say this, but you will have to use that deck and the power of that curse mark, along with your duel energy.'
"I don't follow... What do you mean by all of this? The power of the curse mark, my duel energy whichyou refuse to tell me about since my duel with Kagemaru." He asked, completely lost at what she was explaining.
'You'll understand soon enough. Be paitent, my friend. I don't know for certain what may happen. The best I can tell you is to keep a sharp eye on your surroundings.' With that, Aussa retreats back to the spirit realm before Red Hat culd question her further.
"I hate when she leaves me hanging." He muttered. Forcing himself to go back to sleep.
What did she mean by usuing daid deck and the power of the curse mark and duel energy? He had somany questions, yet he's not going to get answers anytime soon. Until something of the note happens again. He'll just have to maintain vigilance and see what will happen in the upcoming days. Not know, the following days will only get worse and worse.
A/N: I couldn't be bothered to adapt the Crowler and Bonaparte duel. There's literally nothing to add, and even if there was. The duel doesn't change much. Since, Bonaparte's deck is heavily reliant on traps. Doesn't help Toy Soldier was nerfed in Tag Force for some reason. Cause what will I add to the table? Other then change around a couple of plays, it remains the same.
The Tag Duel with the Paradox is loosely based on the Tag Force 2 event. Where Bonaparte hires them in an attempt to tear down the dorm a second time. Here, it's done as a last resort after his first failure, as I felt that this the perfect time to adapt that event. Tag Duel with Alexis. I choose Alexis cause I felt like, she should have a chance to duel pros after not getting her chance against Aster Phoenix.
Next Time, while events will play out much differently, it attempt to explore more on not just the take over, but expand on such details that were hinted earlier. See you next time everyone.
