Double Trouble
It has been a while since the trio at Slifer Red has been dealing with some of the issues going around the Society of Light members. The last thing that happened was Red Hat defeating two former Obelisk White girls and freeing them from the light's control.
Despite his efforts, he had no clue how to solve any of these issues. While the girls he released have not turned back to the Society of Light. This didn't make things any easier. The last thing he wanted to do is duel every single member just for the sake of freeing. Sooner or later, they will catch on and order all of the members to stay away from him at all cost. Knowing full well what he is capable of.
Sighing in frustration, he decided to take a walk outside for the night. Feeling uneasy about the whole situation at hand. 'Just what am I supposed to do?' He thought as he continued to walk aimlessly.
His walk would lead him to the lighthouse, where he saw Aster Phoenix was leaning against the railing on the deck of his boat with a cup of coffee in his hand. Finding it strange that Aster would be here of all places. He approached the boat in the hopes he could get answers from him.
"Hey Aster! Mind if I ask you something?" Red Hat called out.
Noticing him, Aster responded with narrowed eyes. "Just what do you intent to ask me anyway? Any personal questions and I'll flat out refuse to answer."
"Nothing of that sort." Red Hat denied as he continued. "Who is Sartorius? And what is he trying to do with this Academy? Since, the students are worshiping him."
Aster gave him a blank stare. "Sartorius was my manager. As for your other questions. I'm just as confused as you are."
"So, you don't have any lead to what he's up to?" Red Hat asked again.
"Sartorius cut his line that night I lost to Jaden. I have no idea what he even intends to do. I didn't even know what he was doing until someone told me otherwise. The same person that Sartorius is supposedly using."
This left Red Hat conflicted. If even Aster had no idea what this mysterious Sartorius person was up to. Then he really had no lead other than hoping the Society of Light members either slip or outright tell them. He found that to be very unlikely. Even the girls he freed no longer had memories when they were possessed or what they were doing when they joined the society.
"Nothing I can really do then?"
Aster sighed. "If you're looking for an investigation. You're asking the wrong person."
"Thanks Aster... Take care." Red Hat would walk back to the dorm. Unaware that a boat has arrived at the docks.
Meanwhile at Obelisk Blue
"For how long do you intend to keep me waiting?! You must hurry and pulverize Jaden Yuki into la terre!" Bonaparte said as he complained to Chazz, who was lying on his back on a couch. "Hmm... all of this when I can approve this White Dorm officiallement with that alone..."
Chazz looked at Bonaparte with a smirk. "You should give shutting up a try. An assassin chosen by Master Sartorius has already come to this island."
Bonaparte looked shocked when Chazz said that. "Huh? Who would that happen to be?"
Chazz sat up and narrowed his eyes. "This is Jaden here... He should be accepting the duel right about now."
"What about that that boy in the Red Hat? He's been a thorn on our side since the beginning, making a mockery out of us!" Bonaparte pointed out.
"That devil will be held back by for a while by sending in bait. Having some of our members taking on those in Ra Yellow. Forcing him to take action. Little does he know it's futile." Chazz began to chuckle.
Meanwhile
Red Hat had made his way back to the Slifer Red dorm. He wanted to see how Jaden and the others were doing. Only to realize, no one was around. He wondered what they were up to this late into the night? By this point, no one was awake other than a couple of night owls. So, what was the occasion this time?
He took another one of his decks and took a walk outside once more. He wanted to make sure the gang was okay. While Jaden can handle himself. The others he wasn't so sure about. With Society of Light members occasionally trying to breath down their necks. One thing was for sure, they wanted to get rid of them.
He noticed an explosion nearby the area. He realized that explosion happened right near the Ra Yellow dorm. 'That's near the Ra Dorm... Wait, is Bastion, okay? I hope he's alright...' He quickly ran off and tried to make it. Hoping he wasn't too late.
By the time he made it to the Ra dorm, he was already too late. He noticed two Ra Yellow students down on their knees after losing to two Society of Light members. He also noticed that Bastion came out to see what was all the commotion about. Not realizing what he was about to see.
"Look what we have here. The useless devil and Bastion Misawa! You got to see our newest members of the Society of Light." One of them explained as the two Ra Yellows stood up and walked to their side.
"Taking control of the Obelisk Blue dorms wasn't enough, so now you're after the Ra Yellows as well?" Red Hat asked angerly.
"Only those that are worthy can join the Society of Light." The second member spoke up. "Although, thanks to you, those that have been released cannot join again. They been corrupted by you!"
Red Hat sighed at their nonsense. "I still have no idea what you're talking about."
"You corrupted our members and now they have joined the dark sign. A devil's advocate alongside that girl who's also a devil's advocate. We can't let you keep this up. We're taking you down, alongside your friend." Both Society of Light members readied their duel disks.
"I'm not liking this. If losing is enough to get you brainwashed. We can't afford to lose." Bastion pointed out, activating his duel disk. "I'll chose my light deck against you." He took out one of his six decks and placed it in the duel disk slot.
"Before we begin, both of these duels will be one on one, separately! So, no helping each other out!" The first SoL member spoke up.
"If that's how it's going to be, then bring it on!" Red Hat declared as he took out his other deck and his mark began to pulsate. "I'll use this deck in particular! It's something else."
The second one readied his duel disk and smirked. "I'll show you the blazing fire within my soul! This will be some intense duel!"

"I'll start this duel off! I draw!" The second SoL member draws.
Hand 6
"First I play the field spell Molten Destruction! With this field spell, all fire attribute monsters gain 500 attack and lose 400 defense points!" The field was soon chanced to that of large volcano, with lava pooling out of the volcano and the occasional molten rocks being blasted out of the volcano. "Now, I summon Abaki in attack mode! (Atk: 1700 - 2200 Def: 1000 - 500)" A small red demon with golden eyes and small horns on its head appeared on the field. Its mouth remained open, revealing its sharp jaws, wore yellow ripped shorts and carried a spiked club.
"I would make a joke about that monster, but I'm not going to." Red Hat replied with distain. Already noting liking this monster for reasons he couldn't quite place his finger on.
"Make the sudden jokes all you want. I can't wait to show you my burning passion. Burn duelist burn! Ha ha!"
'Sometimes, I don't understand these people.' Red Hat thought, wondering what kind of person this guy was before getting possessed.
"I set this card facedown and end my turn." The second SoL member ends his turn.

"Very well, my turn! I draw!" Red Hat draws.
Hand 6
'Hm? So, you want to come out and play huh?' Red Hat mumbled at the card he drew, which so happened to be Hiita.
The spirit of Hiita emerged next to him with a smirk. 'Heh heh, this is my kind of battle field. Throw me out there and let's show him my kind of flames!'
'Very well. Let's show this guy what we can do.' He replied quietly as he continued his turn. "I summon Familiar Possessed - Hiita in attack mode! (Atk: 1850 - 2350 Def: 1500 - 1000)" The fire charmer, now powered up with her familiar emerged onto the field, twirling her staff and took a fighting stance.
'Well, what do we have here! The same red demon that, we spirits, like to make fun of!' Hitta commented with a smirk, causing the red demon to fume and throw a tantrum, which was completely unnoticed by the others.
"Now I play the spell card Nobleman of Extermination! With this, I destroy your set card, I destroy it and if I do, it gets banished! If it's a normal trap card we both reveal our decks and banish each copy of the card! Let's see what the card is!" An armored nobleman with a bulky sword emerged and swung it's down at the facedown card. As it was sliced in two, it was revealed to be Widespread Ruin as it soon vanished.
"No! My facedown!" The second SoL member cried out. Growling he took out his deck and searched his deck and banished two more of his Widespread Ruin trap cards. Red Hat showed him his deck and took noticed that there were no Widespread Ruin cards in his deck. So, Red Hat had nothing to banish. They both shuffled their decks and placed them back into the deck slot.
"Battle, Hiita attack his Abki!" Red Hat commanded, which his duel spirit friend nodded with a smirk.
'Oh yeah, time for some real heat!' While on the field to the others involved. Hiita merely launched a fire ball at the small demon. What Red Hat saw was something else entirely. He saw the spirit of Hiita repeatedly punch the small red demon with her fists engulfed in flames, until she finished it off with and uppercut, before launching a fireball to cause an explosion. 'He he, now that's what I call a good time!'
'I'm not even going to question her antics...' He thought as Hiita returned to his side.
SoL Member 2: 8000 - 7850 LP
"Abaki's effect! When he's destroyed in battle, we both take 500 burn damage! He's not leaving empty handed!" Two bombs were thrown by Abki before leaving the field. One landed at Red Hat while the other landed in front of the first SoL Member. Both bombs self-destructed, creating an explosion knocking both players off their feet. Red Hat got up quickly, while the SoL member stood up slowly.
'Why does it feel like we take real damage no matter what? This mark is more troublesome than I thought...' Red Hat thought.

"I'll end my turn with that." Red Hat ends his turn.
Hand 4
'Is his deck all fire attribute or something?' Red Hat thought, noticing a theme here.
"Don't let the heat fry your brain. My turn, I draw!" The second SoL member draws.
Hand 4
"I banish the Abki from my graveyard to special summon this card, Inferno! (Atk: 1100 - 1600 Def: 1900 - 1400)" An entity of pure fire emerged onto the field and began radiating intense heat. It's form resembled a face and had skulls within its body. "Next up, I play the equip spell Shooting Star Bow- Ceal! Only I'm equipping it to your monster!" Hiita's staff was soon replaced by a silvery bow and arrow and she fell to her knees. (Atk: 2350 - 1350 Def: 1000)
"Something the matter Hiita?" Red Hat asked quietly.
Hiita stood slowly while carrying the bow. 'It's the bow. It's drained my power. This bow wasn't meant to be used for those like myself in such a way.'
'Dang... are other guardian equips similar in this regard? At least, when it comes to negative effects?' He thought.
"Now then, since your monster has the equip spell in place. I can normal summon this card, Guardian Ceal! (Atk: 1700 - 2200 Def: 1400 - 900)" From a flash of light, a greenish humanoid lizard in red armor emerged. "Your Hiita is weakened, now it's the perfect time to strike! Battle, Inferno attack his Hiita!" The flame monster disappeared before reappearing behind Hiita and incinerated her with intense fire, causing an explosion.
Red Hat: 7500 - 7250 LP
"Inferno's effect! When he destroys a monster in battle, you take 1500 burn damage! Feel the power of flames!" Inferno turned around and unleashed a powerful stream of fire at Red Hat. He cried out, feeling the intense heat before was knocked off his feet by the explosion.
Red Hat: 7250 - 5750 LP
"Don't think I'm done yet! Guardian Ceal attack him directly!" The lizard got down on all four and charged forward slashing the downed Red Hat, crying out in response. Bringing him down to his hands and knees.
Red Hat: 5750 - 3550 LP
'Those attacks and flames... So long as my mark pulsates. Every attack we dish out is real...' He panted as he slowly stood back up. Fumes of the leftover flames coming out from his clothes.
"You'll be going down to my flames soon enough! I set one card facedown and end my turn!" The second SoL member ends his turn.
Hand 0
Meanwhile with Bastion.
"I should start this duel. My turn, I draw!" The first SoL member draws.
Hand 6
"I summon Giant Orc in attack mode! (Atk: 2200 Def: 0)" A muscular orc appeared onto the field. It had a big bone club in its hand. "Then I set two cards facedown and end my turn." The first SoL member ends his turn.
Hand 3
"Very well, it's my turn. I draw!" Bastion draws.
Hand 6
"Before you begin, I activate my trap card, Deck Devastation Virus! I tribute my Giant Orc, since he's a dark monster with at least 2000 attack!" The Orc soon torn apart and turned to purple particles and was blown forward to Bastion's hand. Three of Bastion's cards were destroyed and he was sent to the graveyard.
"You used a virus card?" Bastion commented, as he was forced to toss three cards. Which were White Magician Pikeru, Batteryman AA and Batteryman D. The rest of Bastion's hand were Metal Reflect Slime, Brain Control and Super-Electromagnetic Voltech Dragon.
"Deck Devastation Virus destroys all monsters on your field and in your hand with 1500 or less attack! I can also check your hand for any monsters and every card you draw, you must show it to me and if it's a monster with 1500 or less attack points, then they get destroyed!" The first SoL member explained with a smirk.
"I won't fall behind to a setback. I set one card facedown and end my turn." Bastion ends his turn.
Hand 2
"A lot of good that will do! My turn, I draw!" The first SoL member draws.
Hand 4
"I play the continuous trap card, Call of the Haunted! With this I bring back Giant Orc! (Atk: 2200 Def: 0)" The orc returns onto the field. "But he won't be staying on the field for long. I tribute him to tribute summon Great Maju Garzett! (Atk: 4400 Def: 0)" The armored fiend emerged onto the field with a roar. "He gains attack equal to double the attack of the monster I tributed. So, he has 4400 attack points!"
"Battle, Great Maju Garzett attack him directly!" The armored fiend launched a a blast of sludge at Bastion. Although, he was prepared.
"I activate the continuous trap, Metal Reflect Slime! With this card, I special summon it to the field in defense mode as an effect monster! (Atk: 0 Def: 3000)" The metallic slime emerged onto the field, protecting Bastion's LP.
"You're just delaying the inevitable. Attack that slime!" The fiend redirected its blast to the metallic slime. Covering it in sludge and destroying the metallic slime. "I set one card facedown and end my turn!" The first SoL member ends his turn.
Hand 2
All the noise caused by the duel awoken the many students from Ra Yellow. Two of those that came out where none other than, Jamie and Syun. Ever since Obelisk Blue was taken over by the Society of Light members. They had no other choice then to sleep in the Ra Yellow dorm. While they didn't mind it. They didn't really like being away from their dorm, just because, from what they knew, a bunch of lunatics decided to make an exclusive club at the dorm.
"What's going on out here?" Jamie asked, rubbing his eye lids.
"Isn't it past curfew to duel out here late in the night?" Syun added, wondering why would both Bastion and the infamous Red Hat be dueling outside the dorm and this late at night.
The first SoL member glared at the two Obelisk Blues. "Jamie and Syun... So, this is where you two were hiding? Once we take down these two. We're coming after you now that we know you been hiding from us!"
Syun looked at the first member with a look of confusion, until he realized who these members actually were. Just by looking at the monsters on the field was enough. Since both were known for using attribute specific monsters. "Hold on, you two are Brown and Dante?!"
"You know these two?" Red Hat, now curious who these former Obelisk Blues were.
Jamie nodded. "Yeah, we know them alright. They are part of the Six Attribute Masters club. Their decks are all one attribute focused. You're fighting Dante, the fire attribute user. Meanwhile Bastion is fighting Brown, the dark attribute user."
"We're no longer part of that club!" Dante corrected with a smug grin. "We're part of the Society of Light now! Way better than that old club! It's too bad Seydina, Truly, Rock, and Celia didn't join. The group didn't want them!"
"You know Celia isn't going to be happy that you quit the group. You know how zealous Celia is with this group." Syun pointed out.
"After that incident with Pablo, Celia became the leader of the club. So, you two are out of luck when she finds out." Jamie added.
"Please, she won't find out. And besides..." The second SoL member, now named Dante, looked behind him and saw the new SoL members were waiting for them. "They are waiting for us. On the flip side, this duel is nothing more than a distraction."
"Distraction?! You don't mean this duel is nothing more than for the rest of you to go after Jaden?!" Red Hat called out.
Brown smirked and began laughing. "Chazz has reported that Master Sartorius has sent an assassin to take out Jaden. Sooner or later, we'll rise and he'll fall!"
"There's a flaw in your plan." Bastion spoke up. "Jaden isn't the type to lose very easily. even with his absurd luck and drawing skills. He'll survive this battle. Therefore, we'll take you two down."
"Please, like the two of you can continue!" Dante taunted. "There's barely anything you can do now!"
"Don't act like you know the outcome of the duel! We'll make a comeback soon enough!" Red Hat shot back.
"Good luck you two. Don't lose to these jokers!" Syun said.
"It's my turn, Boku no turn!" Red Hat draws, only his draw had a dark glow and his mark began pulsating.
Hand 5
"I play the spell card Graceful Charity! I draw 3 cards, then I discard 2!" He draws his cards and discards, Darkblaze Dragon and Ultimate Baseball Kid. She smirked at what he drew.
"What are you smiling about?!" Dante asked, infuriated by Red Hat's known smirk.
"This duel is over! I'm ending it this turn!" Red Hat replied, his mark continuing to pulsate. 'I'm not using the Dark World deck this time. It must be cause I'm battling the light?'
"You have to be bluffing! No way you'll beat me this turn!" Dante called out.
"You'll find out! I play the spell card Brain Control! I pay 800 LP and I'll take control a monster you control! I'll take control of Inferno!" As the brain appeared, it stretched its arms and took hold of the fire creature and placed it on Red Hat's side.
Red Hat: 3550 - 2750 LP
"Why would you take my weakest monster?" Dante asked, not following his current play.
"You'll find out! You like styling, don't you? I play the spell card Monster Reborn and bring back the monster, Darkblaze Dragon! (Atk: 1200 - 2900 Def: 1000 - 1500)" A dark scaled dragon emerged onto the field and launched a few powerful flames. Its torso was radiating heat and it glowed orange. "It's effect, when he's special summoned from the graveyard, his attack and defense are double its original stats!"
"That's right, keep going! You're just wasting your time!" Dante said and smirked. 'I have a trap that will take him down once and for all.' He thought, believing he had this duel in the bag.
"I play the quick play spell, Mystical Space Typhoon! Your facedown card is destroyed!" Powerful winds destroyed Dante's facedown card which was revealed to be Torrential Tribute.
"No! You can't keep getting away with this!" Dante shrieked.
"Last up, I play the equip spell card, Premature Burial! I pay 800 LP to bring back, Familiar Possessed - Hiita! (Atk: 1850 - 2250 Def: 1500 - 1000)" Hiita jumped back onto the field and twirled her staff, releasing some flames.
Red Hat: 2750 - 1950 LP
'He he, now we're playing with fire! Let's burn this guy to a crisp!' Hiita said with a smug look.
Red Hat sweat dropped at her statement before continuing. "Last card I play is the equip spell Megamorph! I'll equip it to Hiita!" With the equip spell now active. Hiita grinned as her aura grew very intense and let out more powerful flames. (Atk: 2250 - 4500 Def: 1000)
'Oh yeah, now we're talking! This is pay back for making a mockery out of me!' Hiita said, glaring at her opponent. Knowing full well he couldn't actually see or hear her threat.
"Not now, Hiita..." Red Hat replied quietly. "Battle, Darkblaze Dragon attack Guardian Ceal!" The dragon lets loose multiple fire balls at the guardian monster and setting it ablaze before being destroyed.
Dante: 7350 - 6650 LP
"Darkblaze Dragon's effect! When it destroys a monster in battle, you take damage equal that monster's original attack points! Set him on fire!" The dragon flew close to Dante and unleashed a stream of flames at him. The flames seem to actually cause harm to him as she screamed in pain.
Dante: 6650 - 4950 LP
"Inferno, attack your former master directly!" The monstrous flame-like entity launched a fire ball at its former master, causing multiple explosions.
Dante: 4950 - 3350 LP
"Hiita, finish Dante off!" He commanded.
Hiita smirked and ran towards her opponent. 'Don't mind if I do!' As she stood in front of her opponent. She engulfed herself in intense flames and launched it directly at him, while pushing him back with a strong uppercut. Dante screams and was knocked out cold once the flames slowly fizzled out.
Dante: 3350 - 0 LP
The spirit of Hiita blew out one of her flames on her finger and struck a pose. 'How do you like that heat?!'
Red Hat fell onto a knee and began panting once his duel disk was shut off. 'I didn't use the Dark World deck, yet I still felt tired after that duel. If that came from the power of the curse mark, then I'm not fully aware of its power...' He thought, wondering what he was actual capable of, and if he could control this kind of power. He was getting rather sick of feeling exhausted by every duel that involved his curse mark.
"Is he okay?!" Jamie and Syun ran up to Dante and took a closer look at him. Syun looked over him and noticed some burn marks around his face. This was strange though. The monsters fighting were holograms. They aren't supposed to be real, yet Dante here suffered some burns. Just what is going on around here. Syun checked his pulse and sighed in relief.
"Dante is breathing. He's going to be okay. He was just knocked out cold." Syun explained. "Jamie, help me take him to the infirmary." He said as he helped Dante up and wrapped his right arm around his neck.
Jamie nodded as he wrapped Dante's left arm around his neck. "Just what is going on here? Red Hat's duels are never this violent or real for that matter."
"We'll worry about later. For now, Dante needs help now. Bastion should be able to handle Brown. We can hope the same thing won't happen." Syun replied.
The duo began to chat to each other as they disappear into the forest. What they didn't know, the new Society of Light members have long left the area. Brown now suddenly began to panic, but did his best to hide the fact he was panicking. Red Hat slowly recovered and told the Ra Yellows to head back inside.
"Dang, Dante is gone and now I have to finish this duel now!" Brown said, seething at the fact their distraction was falling apart.
"I'm still here, and I won't allow you to escape! My draw!" Bastion draws and the duel continues.
Hand 3
"Remember any card you draw; you have to show it to me." Brown reminded him.
"The card is Graceful Charity! Now, I'll use it to draw 3 cards, then I discard 2 cards. Because of how the cards works, you can't actually check my hand as I'm going to discard immediately."
Brown glared at him. "Tch, wise guy."
Bastion drew his cards and discarded Super-Electromagnetic Voltech Dragon and Brain Control. "I play the spell card Monster Reborn! With this card, I special summon Batteryman AA in attack mode! (Atk: 0 - 1000 Def: 0)" A short orange man with a battery for a torso appeared onto the field and released an electrical charge. "Batteryman AA effect, it gains 1000 attack points for every one of them on my field."
"So what? Just what do you intend to do with one of those anyway?" Brown asked.
"Quite simple, I activate the quick play spell Inferno Reckless Summon! When I special summoned a monster with 1500 or less attack on my field. I target that monster and one of your face-up monsters. We summon as many copies of those same monsters from our decks. In this case, I special summon two more Batteryman AA in attack mode! (Atk: 0 - 3000 Def: 0 X2) (Atk: 1000 - 3000 Def: 0)" Two more Batteryman AA appeared on the field. all of them grew in size and released even more powerful electrical charges.
"I don't have any more copies of Great Maju Garzet, and even if I did, I wouldn't summon them in the first place." Brown replied. While not pleased with the fact he was overpowered. He still had a trick up his sleeve.
"My last card I'll be playing is Pot of Greed! I draw two more cards!" Bastion draws his cards and shows them to his opponent, which were revealed to be Smashing Ground and Mystical Space Typhoon.
"It can't be!" Brown gasped, finding it unbelievable that Bastion found an out to his plans.
"First, I play Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your facedown card!" Powerful winds that formed a typhoon destroyed the facedown card, which was revealed to be Mirror Force. "Take note, I could have taken control of your monster and skipped this hassle. Although, that would have let me vulnerable to your trap card. I'm not a fan of relying on chance, but this will have to do. I activate the spell card Smashing Ground to destroy your monster!" A giant fist came down from the sky and smashed the Great Maju Garzet as it was crushed and destroyed.
Brown raised his arm to cover himself from the dust. Despite looking like he was going to leave, his PDA began ringing. Bastion and Red Hat felt alarmed by this. Thinking something happened. When Brown opened up his PDA and answered his email, an image of Chazz came up.
'The mission is a failure. Jaden Yuki not only survived the assassin we sent him. Aster Phoenix is onto us. We can't allow them to know what we're up to. Pull back now and forget about your distraction.' The message ended there.
"Looks like you got lucky Bastion. I'll surrender and leave you guys be for the time being." As Brown was about to surrender and deactivate his duel disk. Red Hat ran up to him and took hold of his arm. "Hey! What gives! Let go you devil!"
"Bastion, finish him off! Don't let him escape!" Red Hat called out, holing his arm while trying to keep him back.
Bastion nodded. "Alright then, Batteryman AA attack Brown directly and end this duel! Power surge strike!" The three Batterymen all charged up intense electrical charge and launched the powerful electric shock at Brown. Red Hat leaped out of the way before the attack collided with the SoL member, knocking him to his knees.
Brown: 8000 - 0 LP
Once he was defeated. Brown got back on his feet and screamed loudly.
"Ahh! I can't believe I lost! How would the Society of Light look at me now!" He screamed as he ran back to into the forest. Disappearing from sight.
Red Hat narrowed his eyes at the scene. 'Bastion defeated him, yet he-s start part of the Society of Light... Guess what the Dark Ruler said was true. The rest can't free these people. Only Jaden and I can free them from the light's influence.' He thought, thinking there'd had to be another way.
He couldn't keep fighting members forever. Eventually they'll stop coming after him until they are much stronger or try to gang up on him. Them trying to distract him or fighting him one on one isn't working for them, and trying to ambush Jaden isn't working either. He had a bad feeling about this so-called cult. Whoever is running it, is getting desperate, yet somehow knows about him. What could this possibly mean?
"He ran off, although nothing seemed to have changed about him." Bastion pointed out.
This snapped Red Hat out of his thoughts. "Something is very wrong here. They mentioned a distraction. Let's head back to Slifer Red and find out what's going on. Jaden and the rest should be back by now."
Red Hat and Bastion would gather their things and head for the Slifer Red Dorm. Hoping Jaden and the others were okay.
At the Slifer Red Dorm
Being very late into the night, Red Hat felt very exhausted by his previous duel, which he did his best to hide. While Bastion was nowhere near winded out by the duel. Red Hat had no intention of resting until he was absolutely sure Jaden was okay. It wouldn't take long, but Jaden soon came into view with Syrus and Hassleberry tagging along with him. He smiled, knowing Jaden was okay.
"Jaden! Where have you been?" He called out, waving at him.
"Well, here's the thing..." Jaden said before he was interrupted.
"We were sent a letter and a map from Chazz, saying there was a party being held in a very specific location. I didn't trust that, but we wanted to be sure." Syrus explained.
"Turned out, the entire thing was a trap set up for the Sarge. They sent someone to duel him which happened to be a Pro Duelist. Apparently, he was sent by Aster's former manager." Hassleberry added. "He wanted to bring the Sarge's dueling spirit down while trying to beat him with deck destruction!"
Jaden smiled and laughed it off. "He tried to ruin my bond with my deck, but I showed him a thing or two! Still, that was a fun duel and I beat him at his own game by decking him out!"
Red Hat mentally chuckled. Even though Jaden was facing a mill deck, purposely designed to destroy his bond with his cards. He was able to pull off a win by a reverse deck out. sometimes, he never understood his enthusiasm, but was always a welcome change. "Well, congratulations on your win, Jaden."
"Thanks!" The gang then noticed Bastion was with Red Hat. "Oh, didn't notice you were here, Bastion." Syrus spoke up.
Bastion gasped, offended by his comment. "I was with Red Hat the entire time!"
"Did something happen while we were away Bastion?" Jaden asked, ignoring Syrus' earlier comment.
Bastion nodded. 'Indeed. Two students from Ra Yellow joined the White Dorm after they lost a duel with two members. They noticed Red Hat and I came by and challenged us to a duel."
"Turns out, the duel was nothing more than a distraction to prevent us from coming to support you. They were ordered by Chazz to keep us back." Red Hat concluded.
"That rotten snake!" Hassleberry said. "I'll clobber him the next time we meet."
"In any case, let's get some rest. It's already late into the night. If anything happens, we contect each other. This isn't something we should take likely." Red Hat said.
The gang nodded and returned to their respective rooms. Bastion left the group to head back to Ra Yellow. Red Hat stayed outside a little while longer. While we wanted to sleep, he refused to do so at the moment. First, he wanted some answers.
He completely left out that he knocked a Society of Light member out cold. At first, he thought it was because the Dark World deck allowed him to fight back against the light. Yet, this time around, he played a fire deck with Hiita. Yet, he caused the same amount damage he would have done anyway if he used his Dark World deck. Guess this meant, so long as his mark began pulsating. He'll always cause real damage to anyone involved in his duel, Tag Duel or single duel. This meant, he had to not only be more careful, he had to make sure no one else were involved in his duels that involved the Light of Destruction.
'Easier said than done. Fighting spirits with the curse mark isn't as dangerous as dueling random students and freeing them.' He thought, slightly shuddering at the fact he had to purposely injure many of other students.
'Feeling troubled again?' Aussa asked as she appeared by his side. 'I already scolded Hiita for getting carried away while your cursed power was active,'
"I know I'll have to eventually free students with the power I have, but to cause that much physical damage? I can cause it with any card or deck, not just Dark Worlds. So, I can only imagine if I ran anything else such as my chaos cards."
Aussa adjusted her glasses and sighed. 'Perhaps if you don't want to cause much damage if at all, then you may want to try something that doesn't cause a lot of damage by the darkness influence.'
"Maybe you're right..." He said, also sighing. "Guess that means, time to build more decks involving you girls then."
Aussa nodded in agreement. 'Why of course, we're your partners after all, right?'
He gave her a small smile and returned to his quarters. He rolled his eyes before spending a small amount of time preparing more decks before he would fall asleep on his bed, fully exhausted from tonight's events.
Next Morning
Red Hat would slowly wake up from his long slumber. As he stood up and stretched, he took a look at his desk and noticed some of his cards were scattered around. Rubbing his eye lids and pulling himself together. He collected his cards and placed them in their proper deck. He took the deck box that had his partner with him for the time being. This time, being a deck completely unrelated to the correct decks he was using.
Once he got ready for the day, he noticed he got a message from his PDA. After taking out his PDA and took a look at it, he found out it was Bastion who messaged him. The message was five minutes ago.
'Red Hat, we got a situation around here. Various White members have surrounded and challenged Jamie and Syun to a Tag Duel. We can't get any closer as the remaining members are blocking us from helping them out. We could use your help. We're near the Obelisk White dorm at the lake.' Bastion explained as the message ended.
Red Hat frowned at the message and immediately took off. Not even going to the cafeteria for breakfast. Ignoring the fact, it was already the afternoon by the time Red Hat left his room.
Earlier at Obelisk White Dorm
Jamie and Syun have been watching the Obelisk White dorm for some time now. Despite there being very few Obelisk Blues that weren't part of this so-called club, including from the girl's side. This whole situation didn't sit well with them. Last night after Dante woke up from his previous duel. He couldn't remember what happened to him or the duel for that mattered. He was even surprised to be wearing white and the fact he abandoned the Six Attribute masters club. Something was not adding up and there was no way Red Hat would purposely cause him amnesia.
"Strange world we're living in now, huh?" Syun said.
Jamie nodded. "Indeed. Now only is the dorm now completely white and is taken over by Chazz. Many girls that were beaten by Alexis have joined this dorm as well."
"Having boy and girl students in the same dorm is against the rules and frowned upon though. Why hasn't anyone done anything about it?" Syun asked, wondering why all of this was happening and why are they getting away with it.
"It has to be Vice Chancellor Bonaparte. Chancellor Crowler is too proud to allow the blue dorm to be replaced by any means. though that begs the question. What does Bonaparte have to gain by allowing the dorm to become white instead?" Syun questioned, seemingly unable to come up with a reason.
"Don't know. We can't even get inside the dorm. Mathew even had to share a room with his brother, Craig at Ra Yellow. The few girls that aren't part of the club remain at the Obelisk Girls dorm." Jamie pointed out.
"Let's head to the Academy building. I think we been here long enough." Syun mused
By the time the duo walked around the lake. They were soon surrounded by many members of the white dorm, all of them glaring at them. Having no other choice, the Obelisk duo had to confront them.
"What do you jokers want from us?" Jamie asked, seemingly not amused by their actions.
One of them, which so happened to be Chazz, stepped forward. "We know you two tend to be always together. So, tell us, what happened last night? We know we lost a member because of the devil you two acquaint yourselves with."
Syun frowned at his statement. He knew very well Chazz could not be trusted as he was the one to recruit all of these guys. "Like we have any reason to tell you. You jokers are getting on our nerves."
Chazz smirked and laughed at them. "Say what you will. At the end of the day, you two are a nothing but losers. Perhaps a tag duel and losing should cleanse your soul and see the wonders of the light!"
"It's official, you've gone insane and belong in an asylum." Jamie commented.
"Big words coming acquaintances from the devil. You two should know your place." Chazz turned around and pointed at two fellow members. "Corey and Nova, come over and show these guys the light!"
"Very well..." Corey flatly said.
"Time for the prince of dueling to shine and show you two the power of the light!" Nova proclaimed as the duo readied their duel disks.
Syun sighed, glaring at his opponents. "Guess we don't have a choice. These guys aren't going to let us leave until we do so."
Jamie nodded. "These guys have gone mad. Still, we shouldn't take these guys lightly." He stated as he readied his duel disk. Syun soon followed suit and activated his duel disk. Both of them readied their decks.

Corey & Nova: 8000 LP
Meanwhile the gang of four have been walking around the area. Jaden and Bastion have spotted a large amount of Obelisk White students nearby the lake. Curious to see why so many would be in one place, they decided to check out what's going on. Once they came into view, the members glared at the intruding party and all gathered around to stop them from coming closer.
"What's going on here?" Jaden asked, not understanding what they were hiding.
"It's none of your business!" One of the members answered.
"None of you will be coming closer! Try and do so and you'll be answering to us!" Another member stated as they began to blockade the area.
The gang took notice of a duel that was about to begin. They also figured out who was dueling.
"Wait, that's Jamie and Syun! What have they been up to?" Syrus asked.
"I believe they were ambushed by these guys!" Hassleberry added.
"Whatever the reason may be. Those two are their next target." Bastion commented. He began to contact Red Hat using his PDA and sent him a message. He hoped Red Hat would show up and support them, or at the very least, prevent these guys from taking over more students.
"My turn, draw." Corey begins his turn and draws.

"I set a monster, then I play the spell card Final Countdown!" Dark clouds appeared above the field, along with a wasteland of a field.
Corey & Nova: 8000 - 6000 LP
"In 20 turns, we win the duel." Corey stated flatly. "I end my turn with a facedown." Corey ended his turn.

Final Countdown: Turn 1
"Didn't think he'd draw into Final Countdown so soon." Syun realized, worried that they were now on a time limit. "Corey always uses this strategy. He almost never attacks and prefers stalling."
"Then we have to break through his defenses. My turn, I draw!" Jamie draws.
Hand 6
"I summon Alien Shocktrooper in attack mode! (Atk: 1900 DeF: 800)" A green four-legged reptile alien emerged onto the field. It wore black armor around its torso and abdomen with blue-like orbs around chest plate of the armor.
"Battle, Shocktropper attack his facedown monster!" As the alien began to charge foward...
"Continuous trap activate, Gravity Bind." The alien stopped dead in its tracks as it was surrounded by a white barrier, holding him down. "All level four and higher monsters cannot attack."
Jamie narrowed his eyes at the action. "Sounds about right for someone like you. I set one card facedown and end my turn." Jamie ends his turn.

"Time to show you all how I really shine! I draw!" Nova draws.

"I set a monster, then I activate the continuous spell card Gravekeeper's Servant! So long as this card is in play! Unless you send the top card from your deck to the graveyard, neither of you can declare an attack! I set one card facedown and call it a turn!" Nova ends his turn as the card appeared on the field.
Final Countdown: Turn 3

"Very well, it's my turn! I draw!" Syun draws.
"I active the continuous trap, Macro Cosmos!" Nova called out as his trap was activated. However, unlike before, this time only a warp hole resembling space was shown in the middle of the field instead. "With this card in play, all cards sent to the graveyard are banished instead. Thanks, to Gravekeepers Servent being on the field, you can't attack at all, since you can't pay the cost for it! So, no funny business with level 3 or lower monsters!" He explained as an attack lock was now created. "In additon I can special summon a Helios the Primorial Sun from my deck, but I don't have one so this part of the effect is irrelevant."
"We get it, wise guy." Syun groaned before he continued. "I summon Sky Scout in attack mode! (Atk: 1800 Def: 600)" A bird and a man in equal measure emerged onto the field. He had a mane of black hair and red plumage adoring his slim frame and wore a long red claw on his right wrist. "I set one card facedown and end my turn." Syun ends his turn.

Final Countdown: Turn 4
After taking a while to get to the location he was told. Red Hat made his way to the lake where the Obelisk White dorm was located. There, he took notice of a duel that was already in progress. How much has it progressed; he did not know. What he did know was that many SoL members surrounded the two blue students. What he also noticed was Jaden and the gang where being held back by the many SoL members that were present.
"What's going on around here?" He called out as he ran up to the gang.
The SoL members took notice and glared him. "The devil has arrived, keep him away from the duel!"
The many members ganged up on Red Hat and held him back by grabbing ahold of his arms. Red Hat began thrashing about to shake them off, but they held their grip rather firmly. He tried kicking them and even smack them with his head, but they made sure he was unable to move or attack them.
"Get off me!" Red Hat growled, thrashing about while trying to attack them to shake them off.
"Hold still you devil! You're not interfering with this battle!" The SoL members that were weighing him down snapped.
Other SoL members kept Jaden and the gang at bay to make sure they wouldn't help them out.
"Sam hill, these guys are nuts!" Hassleberry said, shocked by their actions.
"These guys mean business!" Syrus added, cowaring at the site at what were the SoL members were doing.
"We got to help him! He can't do this alone!" Jaden offered, also glaring at members.
"No use, these guys won't let us through until this duel is over!" Bastion pointed out.
The Obelisk duo noticed what was going on and frowned at their actions.
"This is madness, we have to end this duel quickly!" said Syun.
"No room for error. We only have 4 turns max to stop Corey and Nova here." Jamie pointed out.
"Are you done?" asked Corey in a flat tone. "My turn, draw..." Corey draws.
Hand 4
He had a small smile before keeping a neutral face again. Syun took notice and immediately activated his facedown.
"I activate the trap card, Icarus Attack! I tribute Sky Scout and I'll blow up both Macro Cosmos and Nova's facedown monster!" Sky Scout began to releasing a surge of power as he radiated with a golden aura. With a powerful blast of energy, he released it from his claw and destroyed both Macro Cosmos and Nova's facedown monster, which revealed to be Morphing Jar #2. Sky Scout soon disappeared into the void before it closed up.
"Trouble indeed... I set a monster and activate the continuous spell, Messenger of Peace. All monsters with 1500 or more attack cannot declare attacks and during our standby phase we must pay 100 LP or this card gets destroyed... turn end." Corey ends his turn.

"My turn, I draw!" Jamie draws.
Hand 5
I activate the trap card, Offering to the Snake Deity! I tribute a reptile type monster on my field, and in exchange, I can destroy two cards on your field! So, Alien Shocktrooper gets ready for an offering!" A snake deity emerged with a golden aura. The reptile alien soon disappeared as he was offered as a tribute to the diet and shot two blasts of energy. The blast destroyed both of Corey's facedown monsters, which were revealed to be Kelbek and Marshmallon.
"So, you destroyed my walls... can you get rid of my backrow?" Corey wonders, keeping an emotionless face.
"I play the equip spell Premature Burial! I pay 800 LP and bring back Alien Shocktrooper! (Atk: 1900 Def: 800)" The alien reptile reemerged onto the field.
Jamie & Syun: 8000 - 7200 LP
"I activate the spell card Giant Truenade! With this, all spell and trap cards get bounced back to our hands. I don't have to tell you the how Premature Burial works, right?" Jamie added that part with a smugly.
The spell card unleashed a green colored wind that caused Corey's backrow to disappears, which also caused Nova's Gravekeepr's Servant to return to his hand. Premature Burial was added back to Jamie's hand as his monster remained on the field.
"Now that all your spells and traps are gone! We can finally deal damage to you! I summon Alien Warrior in attack mode! (Atk: 1800 Def: 1000)" This time, a silver armored alien reptile emerged onto the field. This one had black orbs on its torso and had silver claws. "Battle, Alien Warrior and Shocktrooper attack them directly!" Both aliens charged forward and began their assault. Alien Warrior swung its claws and slashed Corey, while Alien Shocktrooper swung its sword and slashed Nova, pushing the duo back a bit.
Corey & Nova: 6000 - 2300 LP
"I set one card facedown and end my turn." Jamie ends his turn.

Meanwhile, Red Hat was observing the duel while being held back by the many SoL members. "You almost have them! Take them down you two!" He cheered, never once thinking he would ever cheer on anyone other than his friends.
This did not sit well with the SoL members. "Hold still you devil!" They barked as they kept holding him back, despite Red Hat's attempts to get them off him.
"Those two Obelisk blues have those white members on the ropes!" Hassleberry cheered.
"Just a bit more and they won't joining those guys!" Jaden added.
"I have a bad feeling about this." Syrus commented.
"Indeed, they still have to watch out. If they don't finish them quickly, it could end badly for them." Bastion pointed out. "Those two white members have stall cards and they aren't attacking."
"I can't lose! Not to you two! My turn, I draw!" Nova draws.
Hand 4
"Back up plan! I play the continuous spell card Dimensional Fissure! Now, all monsters that would go to our graveyard are banished instead!" A purple dimensional hole appeared above all four of them. "Next I activate the spell card Graceful Charity! I draw three cards then I discard two!" He drew his cards and two of them he banished Necroface and Magical Merchant. Once Necroface entered the banish realm, it's tentacles came out of the banish zone and took the top five cards from both Nova and Jamie's deck and were sent to the banish zone.
"What the? What did you discard, Nova?!" Jamie asked, confused to what just happened.
"Surprised? The monster I banished was Necroface! When he's banished in any way, it banishes the top five cards of our decks!" Then, another set of tentacles came out of the banish zone and took five more cards from both their decks. "Another Necroface was banished! So that means, five more of our cards are banished!"
"Banish mil deck?! So that's what they been planning!" Bastion spoke up. "Their plan was to stall them out with final countdown only to mil their decks with banishing cards so thy can't fight back!"
'Great... Thanks to that card, I'm down to 23 cards. Syun can't keep blowing up their cards or we'd be defenseless. I know he has that card, but does he, have it?' Jamie thought as he observed their options.
"Don't think I'm done! I play the spell card I just drew, Gold Sarcophagus! I banish a card, then in two turns I can add it back to my hand! I banish my third Necroface!" The third and final Necroface was banished and as soon as it reached the banish zone. It's tentacules reached out and took five more cards.
'Not again, now I'm down to 18 cards.' Jamie thought, now close to deck out. 'He's close to deck out as well, but I'm sure he has a plan for that.'
"I summon this wonderful card! Appear the mighty Gren Maju Da Eiza! (Atk: ? - 7200 Def: ? - 7600)" The massive fire lizard appeared onto the field with increased size.
"So that's your back up plan?!" Syun said, shocked to see that it got powered up so soon.
"Now, I'll attack you personally! Gren Maju attack that, Alien Warrior!" The fire lizard pounced at the Alien warrior and destroyed it in a fiery blaze.
Jamie & Syun: 7200 - 1800 LP
"Aw man, all that damage from one attack." Syrus said worryingly.
"One more attack and they're done son." Hassleberry added.
"If they lose, then they'll become one of them." Bastion reminded them.
Red Hat, who was still trying to push the SoL members away, thought otherwise. 'If they are able to beat them, then that means, the light doesn't have as much power as they believe.'
"Alien Warrior's effect! When he's destroyed in battle, that monster that destroyed him gains 2 A-counters!" The alien left behind a two alien-like parasites and attached themselves to Gren Manju. The reptile creature roared as it tried to shake off the parasites.
"A lot of good that will do. I set one card facedown and end my turn!" Nova ends his turn.

"Think that would stop us? Think again! It's my turn, I draw!" Syun draws.

"I set a monster and switch Alien Shocktrooper to defense mode!" The alien tooper goes to a knee and crosses its arms. "I set two cards facedown. I end my turn." Syun ends his turn.

Final Countdown: Turn 8
"My turn, draw." Corey draws.
Hand 6
"I tribute your facedown monster and Alien Shocktrooper to special summon this card to your field. Appear, Lava Golem. (Atk: 3000 Def: 2500)"
"Lava Golem?!" Red Hat repeated. "That's a card only used in stall builds, burn decks, or to get rid of problematic monsters."
And then, Jamie and Syun's field was enveloped in a bright light, making them close their eyes. Eventually, it wasn't bright anymore. The Obelisk duo opened their eyes and both of them gasped when they found themselves trapped inside a cage, held by the lava-based behemoth.
'This thing again. Corey only summons this thing with we're low on LP or when he's in a tight spot.' Jamie thought. 'I have to stop this thing before we take more damage.'
"In two turns... this is over..." Corey flatly said. "I activate both continuous spells, Gravekeepers Servant and Messenger of Peace. I set one card facedown and end my turn." Corey ends his turn.

Final Countdown: Turn 9
"Like hell I'm letting you burn us with Lava Golem!" Jamie spat.
This got the others and Corey's attention. The latter stared at him with a raised eye brow.
"Go trap card, Interdimensional Warp! Since you control a monster with an A-Counter, I can activate this card! I can select the monster with an A-Counter and a monster on my field. We switch control of those targets!" Two warp holes appeared above Gren Maju and Lava Golem. Both were absorbed by the warp holes and were teleported to the opposite side of the field. This time, it was Corey and Nova who were trapped by the cage from Lava Golem.
"Wait that means..." Syrus said.
"Jamie will not be taking damage from Lava Golem when his turn begins! He also took one of their best monsters!" Bastion pointed out.
"They're holding quite well." Jaden commented.
"It's my turn, I draw!" Jamie draws.
Hand 3
"I'll play the spell cad, Graceful Charity! I draw 3 cards, then I discard 2!" Jamie draws his cards and discards, Premature Burial and Alien Mother. The latter getting banished by the dimensional void. "Since I own your Gren Maju, I can tribute it, to tribute summon this card with one tribute. Appear, Cosmic Horror Grangi'el (Atk: 2600 Def: 2000)" Gren Maju disappeared in a bright green space-age laser beam. From a mothership descended a mad, writhing creature with innumerable tentacles, teeth, and other appendages. It was enormous, stood tall upon the scene.
"But wait, why did he tribute their strongest monster? They had more of an advantage." Syrus asked, confused as to why he would tribute the stronger monster.
Jamie turned to face Syrus with an unamused look. "You really need to study more, cause the answer is obvious." He began to explain. "When Nova's turn begins, he'll add back Necroface to his hand because of Gold Sarcophagus. When that card is normal summoned, all banished cards return to the deck, which would leave Gren Maju with 0 attack points."
"That's why they tributed one of the enemies' troops! I'd say, that's a job well done!" Hassleberry complemente.
"Anyway... Grangi'el effect activates. Once per turn I can place an A-counter on a monster my opponent controls. I'll be choosing that Lava Golem stuck on your field!" Another parasite attached itself onto the Lava Golem. It's roared and tried to burn the parasite, but it adapted to the intense heat and stayed attached to it.
"I set two cars facedown and end my turn." Jamie ends his turn.

Final Countdown: Turn 10
"I won't be made fun of! It's my turn, I draw!" Nova draws.
Hand 1
"I won't pay the cost for Messenger of Peace so it gets destroyed." The continuous spell in question blew up into many pixels.
"Don't forget, it's your standby phase, so you take 1000 burn damage from Lava Golem's effect!" Syun Pointed out as some lava from the golem's body splashed around the cage, making Corey and Nova wince due to the heat.
Corey & Nova: 2300 - 1300 LP
"Not like it matters! It's been two turns, so Necroface that I banished gets added to my hand." Said card came out of the banish zone and added to Nova's hand. "I summon Necroface in attack mode! (Atk: 1200 Def: 1800)" Necroface finally emerged onto the field and revealed itself to be a broken-down doll head, with a disgusting parasite coming from the shell of the head with many tentacles.
"It's effect you friend Jamie already explained, but he left out one detail. For every banished card that gets shuffled into the deck. It gains 100 attack points for each card! If you've been keeping track, that's 36 total cards!" As all the cards were shuffled back into the current turn player's deck. Necroface grew in size. (Atk: 1200 - 4800 Def: 1800)
"If this attack gets through then, they're done for!" Syrus cried out.
"I'll activate the quick play spell Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy the left facedown you set!" Nova announced as a typhoon came by and destroyed the facedown, which was revealed to be Mirror Force. "Ha, perfect! I switch the Lava Golem to attack mode! Necroface, attack that Alien now!" The horrid zombie released its tentacles forward and attempted to grab the alien monster.
"I won't let you get that attack off! I'll activate Syun's trap card, Widespread Ruin! Your strongest monster is destroyed!" Necroface attacked a mine which caused an explosion, destroying it in the process.
"Blast! Since he got banished, we both banish the top five cards of our decks!" Both Nova and Jamie banished their top five cards, as they were absorbed into the void by Necroface's remains.
"I should also tell you. If a monster with an A-Counter battles an alien monster, it losses 300 attack points!" Jamie pointed out.
"But your monster isn't technically an alien card by name! So, Laval Golem won't be affected. Laval Golem attack Cosmic Horror Grangi'el now!" Lava Golem roared as it began to generate heat.
"I won't let you get of an attack off! I activate the trap card, Detonator Circle 'A'! With this trap, I destroy a monster with an A-Counter and we both take 1000 effect damage!" The parasite attached to Lava Golem self-destructed and released poison to both parties.
Jamie & Syun: 1800 - 800 LP
Corey & Nova: 1300 - 300 LP
"Curses!" Nova exclaimed, calming down as to not throw a tantrum in front of the others. "Just to make sure, I activate Corey's continuous trap card, Gravity Bind. So, no funny business with level 3 monsters. I end my turn." Nova ends his turn.

"My turn, draw!" Syun draws.

"I set one card facedown and end my turn." Syun ends his turn.

"My turn, draw..." Corey draws.

"You could have won if you left Lava Golem alone... Unless both of you had no monsters... then it was game..." Corey pointed out with a blank expression. "I set a monster and end my turn." Corey ends his turn.

"My turn, draw!" Jamie draws.

"Excellent! I activate the spell card, Heavy Storm! All spell and traps are destroyed!" Powerful winds began to blow away all spells and traps.
"Counter trap activates, Judgement of Anubis... I discard a card; your spell is negated and a monster you control is destroyed... Not only that, you take damage equal to its attack... It's game over..." Corey announced as he discarded a card, stopping the winds.
"Not over yet, counter trap card Solemn Judgment! We pay half our LP; your counter trap is destroyed!" Syun countered with his own counter trap as the former was negated and destroyed, allowing Heavy Storm to destroy the entire backrow.
Jamie & Syun: 800 - 400 LP
"All backrow is gone, but I don't trust your set monster. I'll end my turn." Jamie said as she ended his turn.

"But why didn't he attack?" Syrus asked, confused as to why he would hold back. The Obelisk duo is running out of time.
"You guys don't know how Corey duels." Jamie replied. "All of his monsters are stalling cards. If they don't bounce back our monsters, then he'll stall us with cards like Marshmallon or Spirit Reaper. We don't know what he's setting. One mistake and we lose. He always preferred to win with Final Countdown."
"Nova also stalls, only he's more focused on decking out his opponent by banishing those cards or trolling with Necroface." Syun added.
"It's my turn, I draw!" Nova draws.

"I set a monster and end my turn." Nova ends his turn.

"My turn, I draw!" Syun draws.

"I play the spell card Pot of Greed!" He draws his cards. "I set a monster and set one card facedown and end my turn." Syun ends his turn.

"My turn... draw." Corey draws.

"I set a monster and I play the continuous spell, The Dark Door. Now, all of us can only attack with one monster per turn. I end my turn." Corey ends his turn.

"Three turns remain, if they don't finish them off on their next turn then they automatically lose!" Bastion pointed out.
"Ah man, I'm not liking their odds!" Syrus said worryingly.
"Come on, soldiers. You can take these down their troops!" Hasslerberry encouraged them.
Red Hat now growing tired by this nonsense continued to fight back harder than he's ever done. His mark began to glow and release mist emitting power within. One of his eyes glowed red and his strength was drastically increased. He was able to punch, kick and head butt the SoL members that were weighing down with such force, he knocked them out by his new found strength. This caught everyone by surprise, so much so, all SoL members retreated and stayed away from the group.
"The devil has awakened! Everyone, retreat and don't get near him!" Chazz called out as the knocked-out members stood back up and ran back to his side.
The gang were also shocked at the turn of events. Not only did he resort to violence, but was able to knock out the members that were holding him back. Just what happened back there that caused him to snap? What they were completely oblivious to, was that his mark and glowing red eye returned to normal. Red Hat dropped to his knees the moment he calmed down.
'Just what was that all about? Did I just got enraged and knocked those guys out?' He looked at his mark and noticed it stopped glowing and pulsating. 'Need to calm down. This dark power is more dangerous than I thought...' He thought to himself.
'Kuri Kuri...' Winged Kuriboh showed up, sensing something.
"Something wrong little buddy?" Jaden asked sure was up with him. That is, until Aquos also emerged.
'I'm afraid your friend there has been corrupted by darkness. Unlike the light of destruction, the power of darkness he possesses comes from a malicious spirit. He doesn't seem to have the best control of it.' Aqua Dolphin stated.
"What do you mean, possessed by darkness? The darkness he has is evil?" Jaden asked, not following what Aquos was saying.
'Your friend has been given a curse by the dark ruler of the underworld. While he can control it for now, he won't be able to forever. Eventually he'll snap and cause a rampage with this corrupt power.' Aquos further explained.
"Is there a way to free him?" Jaden wondered.
Aquos shook his head. 'Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do. This something he's going to deal with on his own. The only thing you can really do is pacify him, so he won't go out of control. The dark ruler of the underworld has no intention of letting him go.'
"So that's what Red Hat has been hiding…" Jaden replied as his spirit friends disappeared.
Bastion looked at him like he grew a second head. "Just who are you talking to, Jaden?"
Jaden sweat dropped when he was asked that. "No one in particular."
"This our last chance! It's my turn, I draw!" Jamie draws.
Hand 1
"I play the spell card Nobleman of Crossout! I target a set monster on your field and banish it! I'll banish the middle card!" The blonde warrior leaped forward and sliced the set card in half, revealing to be Kelbek.
"You got rid of one. Can you stop the other two?" Corey simply said.
"Who said we were done?" Syun replied. "I activate the trap card Icarus Attack! I'll tribute Tornado Bird that's facedown and pop two of your monsters!" Tornado Bird left the field, not before leaving behind massive spark of energy to the facedown monsters and destroyed them.
Corey gasped at the sheer fact his field was broken. "No! It can't be! We were so close!"
"It's over! Cosmic Horror Grangi'el attack them directly!" A storm of puckered tentacles shot out from underneath and slammed both Corey and Nova, knocking them off their feet.
Corey & Nova: 300 - 0 LP
Chazz gritted his teeth and glared at the obelisk duo. "How do you survive?! This wasn't supposed to happen!"
"What did you expect forcing the devil's allies to a duel!" All SoL members turned to see where the voice came from, only for them to find it, it was Alexis along with a few female white members at her side.
"They should have had no chance! They originally ran off when I made everyone in blue see that light! They've been running for far too long and we could have had them!" Chazz protested.
Alexis crossed her arms and glared at Chazz. "And look where that got you. You fought that devil's allies and almost compromised our mission. I already recruited more girls, not counting the ones that have been freed or her."
"Guess that's good enough..." Chazz muttered.
"Hey, girls aren't allowed in the boys dorm! It's against school policy!" Syun pointed out, knowing full well the female Obelisk can't just stay in the Obelisk boy's dorm whenever they feel like it.
Alexis glared at the duo. "I suggest you two leave now, before we actually put the hurt on you. All white members belong in this dorm. The ones that are rogue don't matter to us. Get lost and try coming back here. You're lucky nothing happened to the members you defeated." Alexis then turned her attention to the gang. "This goes for you bozos too! Get lost and stop coming here!"
"Hold on!" Red Hat calls out as she slowly walked up to them. "Where's Vince Chancellor Bonaparte, and why does he want to get rid of the Slifer Red dorm?! Do you plan to destroy our dorm yourself just so you can have the White dorm while keeping Obelisk Blue?!"
Alexis glared daggers at him, not before giving him a slight maniacal laugh. "Do you really think we need that worthless Vice Chancellor to approve of our dorm? Chazz may have been desperate enough to try that, but I know better."
"Hey, just what's that supposed to mean?!" Chazz asked, flabbergasted that Alexis would try to one up him.
"Zip it!" She snapped before continuing. "The entire point was to get you and Jaden eliminated, then we can take over and show the rest of the students the beauty of the light. Although..." She gritted her teeth, pointing at Red Hat and the rest of the group. "Your devilish meddling has forced us to take drastic actions onto the others. Now that you know what we're up to, we have no intention of tearing down your dorm or relying on that incompetent Vice Chancellor! Master Sartorius will be the one to lead us!"
Chazz then stepped in and spoke out his thoughts. "Do us a favor and leave. Don't think just because you took out four of our members down, means you'll win. Only one was removed from us recently and you can't fight all of us, once we get a hold of the rest of you! The devil and his allies will fall to the greatness of the light!"
"Try coming here and we won't hesitate to kick you out, bless you with the light from us, or eliminate you if it's the devil or Jaden. I'd be smart and take our warning. At least until Master Sartorius gives out order." Alexis warned them as she and Chazz began to walk away, back to the white dorm.
The remaining SoL members followed Alexis and Chazz back to the dorm. Now given orders to kick out anyone that tries to come close to their precious white dorm or attempt to brainwash them if it wasn't Jaden or Red Hat.
"They're a real piece of work, aren't they Syun?" Jamie wondered.
"I don't even know what's going on anymore." Syun replied. "Let's head back to the Ra Dorm. I think we had enough for the day."
"Sure thing. I'm pretty tired myself."
The Obelisk duo walked back to the dorm in silence. Not even bothering to glance or speak to the gang.
Red Hat walked up to the gang after recover from his short outburst. "The fact Jamie and Syun survived, means that the SoL don't have nearly as much power as they think they do."
"What happened back there, soldier? You just kind of snapped." asked Hassleberry.
"Yeah, we never seen you act like that before." added Syrus, worryingly.
Red Hat sighed, knowing full well he would be questioned by them. "It's nothing to really be concerned about."
Bastion gave him a narrow look. "You do realize you can get reported for violence. I wouldn't be surprised if those guys would try and get rid of you that way."
"I doubt that... They want to get rid of me their way. Not by the Academy's rules."
"Hey man, if you need help, you can always ask us. We'll help you out when we can." Jaden replied, now knowing Red Hat is going to need help. "We don't want you to snap just because of something that you couldn't control.
"Thanks for your concern, Jaden, but I'll be okay for the time being. I'll ask you guys for help when I need it." Red Hat replied as he began to walk back to his room. 'Though I refuse to rely on you guys. This is a problem I don't want you guys involved with.' He thought that last part. Though his spirit friends clearly weren't happy with his decision.
The gang looked at him with a curious look. They knew Red Hat was very stubborn, but this was getting out of hand. They knew he's not one to ask for help, but they sometimes wished he wasn't so stubborn or quit with his whole lone wolf thing. Jaden was somewhat disappointed that Red Hat has been hiding his situation for a while now, but he somewhat understood his issue. While he would try to keep him calm. He can't do much to solve his personal issues.
The gang soon retreated back to their respective dorm, feeling emotionally exhausted for the day.
A/N: This took far longer then expected. I was both lost what to do and I had trouble keeping track with the two duels that took place. Some ideas and details were lost, due to how I've been trying to progess this. For those wondering why I've been taking so long, (besides lack of motivation and irl troubles I've been having) I've been having mental breakdowns.
