Holy shit, why is this popular all of the sudden? I decided to write this for fun and people are favoriting and following like crazy. I got so many email notifications about this story I'm worried that it'll get too carried away…Nah, there's no way this is going to be that popular. Sure, it'll be an enjoyable read but that's just that. Fate/Extra series needs a bit more love in because ao3 has roughly 200 stories featuring Hakuno if I recall correctly. And most of them are shipping fics.

Riveria did not know why the Guild requested her aid, but the mention of Ais had her worried for a minute before seeing the girl was fine but was escorting her to a medical wing. "Slave traffickers." She just said and Riveria already didn't like where this was going. She was proven right, as the victims of it were elves. All in pain and crying as she stepped in.

She should have known. Most elves in their secret forests do not take kindly to outsiders and will most likely reject any form of help. But she herself was a high elf, of royal blood. Her word is enough for any elf to respect and follow should she be inclined to speak.

Already they saw her and they despite their sufferings looked at her with reverence. She inwardly sighed as she began to speak. "These healers are to be trusted. By my royal blood I swear that they mean you no harm and only wish to help. I will also be supervising your recovery as well." She told them as the atmosphere became less tense as they had all calmed down and let the healers do their jobs. They dared not cause Riveria any trouble, for they would be a disgrace to all the elves if they did so.

She then observed the room more carefully, noticing the black dress and black veil anywhere. Hakuno Kishinami, the Holy Witch. One capable of magic without reciting a chant and from what she saw in that duel, a skilled swordswoman that gave Ais trouble with. They never met in person, but from what she gathered, Hakuno had found these slavers and apprehended them with Ais. Her face was hidden by the veil at it shielded her eyes as she was rubbing the head of an elven child on her lap.

It stoked worry for Riveria in that instant, since elves do not normally sire children due to their long lifespans and each child was a treasure. For her to be involved with the cruelty of slavers made Riveria's blood boil. "She's just fallen asleep, if you are going to express your displeasure, kindly do it elsewhere." The soft voice spoke from the Holy Witch as she didn't even look up to Riveria, more focused on the child on her lap.

Riveria frowned, realizing her emotions were being visible and schooled herself and cleared her throat. "Sorry, a moment of lapse in composure." She apologized before looking at the child on her lap. "How is she?"

"She's traumatized by the ordeal. She's lost most of her memories save for a few key details like her name and mother." Hakuno replied, a sadness in her tone and her lips expressing it. Even Riveria felt sad at that, to only remember only your name and mother was probably going to be painful to know about yourself. The young girl snuggled closer to Hakuno's belly as she rubbed her head softly. "Ever since I've rescued her, she's been clinging to me like a lifeline. Afraid I'll disappear on her." She explained.

"That's because she views you as her mother now." Riveria answered as the Holy Witch turned to look at her with an inquiring look on her face. "Elf children raised by elves in their forests are rather clingy to their parents, always seeking their warmth and comfort as they grow up. She is young, a little before her pre-teen years before she becomes more independent, so it is natural to want to be by her parent's side. Given that they are not here…" she trailed off as Hakuno looked at the child on her lap with an unreadable emotion.

"Then I will be her mother."

"Eh?" Riveria blinked, trying to understand what the girl just said as Hakuno looked at her and for the first time, see those starlit eyes staring at her.

"She is seeking a parent's warmth and chose me of all people. Then in that case I will be responsible looking after her and raising her. But there is one problem I will face since I am a human." Hakuno explained as she gave Riveria a long look. "I do not know of elf traditions and customs, none of their culture. I will need help finding someone willing to teach her these things for times when she interacts with other elves as she grows up." She told her, giving her a knowing look as Riveria nodded her head.

"I understand, in my free time then I could help out with that." Riveria answered as Hakuno smiled.

"Then I'm counting on you…Godmother Riveria." Hakuno told her.

"Of course." The high elf nodded, before blinking and looking at her. "Wait, did you- "

"Did you guys hear that?!" one of the elves spoke up, apparently overhearing their conversation.

"To think that Lady Riveria would care so much as to be a godmother to that poor child there…!"

"That child will be in good care under the tutelage of Lady Riveria."

They went on and on as Riveria noticed the coy smile on Hakuno's face. She planned this, truly, truly this girl is a witch!

The noise and gentle warmth woke her from her long dream. She never felt so at peace until now, wondering what was going on as she saw those starry eyes looking at her kindly.

Mother.

That's all she could think about this person who reminded her of her birth mother. The one who held her close, gave her reassurance and warmth, who else but mother?

"Did you sleep well?" she had asked. She had a lovely voice, one that soothed the child's soul as everything was going to be alright. The girl could only nod and snuggle deeper into her belly, enjoying the warmth this woman gave her as she giggled softly. "Come now, turn and see who's your godmother over here. See, she's waiting for you…"

The young elf girl blinked in confusion before turning to where her 'mother' was looking at and felt her eyes widen in shock and awe. It was Riveria Ljos Alf, high elf from the Alf's Royal Forest and she was looking at her with concern. Wait, does that mean that Lady Riveria is her…?!

"Not the first thing you should say to her when she wakes up, Kishinami." Riveria said with a frown.

"But are you denying it?"

"…" the royal elf said nothing but sighed in response. She's thrown into a corner, and she's lost the match before it even started.

The poor child felt her world turn off-kilter with this shackling revelation that Riveria is her godmother and…! Did Lady Riveria just say Kishinami? As in Hakuno Kishinami?! The legendary Holy Witch of Orario?! She looked to the veiled girl's face with surprise as she merely smiled at her kindly as the elf child's head was overclocked.

Her savior and 'mother' was both known as the infamous Holy Witch and Spell-Maiden of Twilight. She who saved children kidnapped by the wicked goddess Ishtar, healer of the sick and poor, a genius of magic that surpassed Lady Riveria and the Thousand Elf! (The last one was heavily debated between the elves as they have faith in Lady Riveria and her protégé, though it's because the Holy Witch is a mere human.)

"It's not every day you get to meet two celebrities, is it little one?" Hakuno asked with an amused smile as the child sat up and was looking anxious with the attention she was getting. "Tell us, what is your name?" Hakuno asked, her voice carrying a soothing effect as the elf girl blinked and realized she needed to mind her manners with these two.

"M-M-my name i-i-is Primo Libera!" the child introduced herself with a stutter and bow of her head, her blonde hair flipping in front of her face as she quickly pushed it back.

"Libera? That's an elf forest community." Riveria noted as she cupped her chin with thought.

"Do you know of it?" Hakuno asked.

"A bit. Elf communities started appearing when Rakia had begun invading elf forests and burning them down. Elves moving towards new homes with others had costed them their family names to join them. Primo here must be a descendant of one that moved to Libera Forest if she's using it as a family name." Riveria explained as Hakuno looked cupped her own chin in thought.

"…Then her name shall be Primo Kishinami, as she is my daughter." Hakuno concluded as Primo looked at her in shock before her cheeks turned red as she recalled how she viewed her as 'mother' earlier.

"I see…so that means she'll be inheriting your magic as well?" Riveria asked with a wary glare as Hakuno had the nerve in a room full of elves to smile and chuckle at the question.

"Not all of it, just some that will help her with her own magic. My maleficium is exclusive to my bloodline and incompatible with her own affinity with magic." Hakuno replied as everyone blinked at the answer.

"Her own affinity…can it be she's…?"

"She's in fact, capable of magic. I could tell when she was napping in my lap that she had magical potential." Hakuno confirmed as Primo's eyes were lit up in excitement that she's capable of magic as part of her inner child was relit at the chance to chase that dream, she had. To one day catch up to Lady Riveria as a great mage, and confirming she is capable of magic just made that first step a reality!

For the first time in a whole month, Primo's life had turned for the better.

For the first time in a whole month, Riveria felt a major headache that wasn't Ais Wallenstein. She had been duped into becoming a godmother to an orphaned elf child that had no extended family as far as she's aware of as Hakuno Kishinami had decided to adopt her and is filling out the forms with the Guild for legal issues and to ensure Riveria herself is Primo's official godmother. She decided to go along with it because she cannot help but care for the young one since elf children are rare and their time precious.

So, while she finished her part as the official godmother, one that Eina was shocked at when she heard the news, Riveria took her new goddaughter Primo Kishinami to a shop specializing in selling mage gear.

Hakuno had permitted this, saying it was important for godparent and godchild to bond and was planning something else while the two left. No doubt to inform her Familia of a possible new member while she got Primo started on her training in magic. She was going to buy this child new clothes while she was at it, ridding of those filthy rags the child was forced to live in as many elves were taken aback by the news that she was now a godmother.

She should have seen this coming as the numerous elves were helping in buying Primo new clothes and even a snack or two while she had her back turned. And the poor child was being overwhelmed by the affection of passing elves supporting her, wishing her luck as a rising mage. She had purchased a lightweight armored robe for her to protect her from minor attacks from smaller, more weaker monsters, and an Oaken Staff, the very first piece of gear that all mage beginners start with.

She knew where the Hestia Familia was at, the abandoned church down this distinct street. Ais had shown her this when she wanted to visit the girl. There was a hidden room below she had heard, and it was a comfortable place that made Ais smile a little. It proved that time from the Loki Familia had changed the girl. Riveria never saw that under Loki's Familia and was relieved that Ais found a place to call home.

And standing there at the doorway to the church was Hakuno and Hestia, both smiling as they greeted them both and escorted them inside.

Tea was served in the underground room and the four decided to talk for a bit. Here, Riveria noted details of Hakuno's atelier and the herbs she used. All basic ones even doctors can utilize. Then there was the black spear with blue markings on it that rested in the corner, most likely Hakuno's as she noticed that members of the Goibniu Familia were here, quietly extending the underground chambers with more space and a new room.

"Hakuno…we really need to talk about your frequent Goliath hunts." Hestia sighed as the Holy Witch blinked. "Not that I don't mind you going off to make money from selling magic stones…can you at least stop worrying me by trying to solo it every time it respawns!?" she snapped as Hakuno was rather calm about that outburst and drank her tea quietly.

"It is the fastest way for the new rooms to be build and getting my daughter her necessities to welcome her home." Hakuno replied as Hestia threw her arms up in surrender, clearly unable to get through her daughter as Primo blinked.

"Goliath?" the young elf asked.

"Big giant, found on the 18th floor. Boss." Hakuno explained in a short and simple term as Primo looked at her with wide eyes.

"You fought something like that by yourself?! And with magic?!" Primo shrieked out in excitement as Hakuno had the decency to look shy and look away. It seemed that Hakuno was not used to being praised by children looking up to her like that, none the less her own adopted daughter at that.

"I've heard she kills it with one spell." Riveria spoke up as she admitted that this was some nicely brewed tea.

"Mom, your magic is so…wow!" Primo exclaimed, stars in her eyes as she was captivated by that.

"It's nothing that special…" Hakuno tried defending herself. "Compared to an Elder Dragon, that Goliath was simply an overgrown drunkard!" she thought in comparison. But giving it some thought later, Goliath was easy prey compared to what she had fought on the Far Side thanks to the antics of a few idiots she still blames today.

"I heard you fought skillfully with a sword too! Are you a spellblade?" Primo asked. It was an all-term phrase for swordfighters skillfully using magic to enchant their blades to give them a more lethal edge, but Hakuno shook her head at that.

"More like a Magic Knight, so to speak."

That only left Primo, Riveria and Hestia confused on what a human magic knight is like compared to the ones the royal elves have to protect their forests as the sounds of footsteps coming down as Bell walked in, looking beaten up as Ais followed right behind.

Ais had been training Bell, and Riveria noticed an odd exchange of looks between the two, the smiling Ais and the amused Hakuno. It was one of their trademark silent exchanges she has no idea is about while noticing Bell's flustered face and muttering something about lap pillows.

Oh.

Now that was amusing, but she'll question Ais about it one day. For now, though, she bid the Hestia Familia and her new goddaughter (she's still trying to comprehend how this happened) a polite farewell.
