I don't own any of this Loud House belongs to Nickelodeon and Jurassic Park/World belongs to Universal.
Today's forecast was cloudy and the smell from last night's storm lingers in the air. This dreary day did not stop today's planned activity however, for they were all in a grassy plain standing in front of four Gyrospheres, while nearby a vast herd of various dinosaurs graze.
Lincoln places a hand on the Gyrosphere's side and rubbed it down slowly, while Clyde looks inside from behind the vehicle. This was going to be so cool driving this thing, sure they were essentially big hamster balls, (someone like Geo would enjoy), but hey, they weren't going to complain. What was even better? Is that they were going to drive alongside a dinosaur herd, so at last, they were getting a very good, close-up view of them.
"Saddle up, dudes and dudettes." Dave announced as he stopped in front of a Gyrosphere. "We're going on a cattle drive, but with dinosaurs! It's a dino-drive!"
"And just to be clear, all these dinosaurs are herbivores, right?" Ben nervously asked for he didn't want to get eaten today. "Well, they only chewed on the last kid a little, so we're like, 99 percent sure they're cool." Roxie teased a little, which didn't help calm Ben's uneasiness at all. "Park personnel are moving a group of dinosaurs to fresh grazing lands across the island, and we get to ride along behind the herd." Roxie then explains to everyone else.
Darius felt like he was going to explode in excitement from that news. "Are you kidding me? Dinosaur migration patterns are my jam!"
"You may wanna consider a new jam, bro." Kenji whispered to him, before going in-between Dave and Roxie and placed his arms around them in order to ask a very important question, for he had noticed that the sky looked like it was still going to dump some rain. "So, uh, you sure these things are waterproof? Looking pretty grim out here and hair this awesome does not come easy."
Both camp counselors looked unimpressed, Dave casually looks to his clipboard. "Your hair is going to be fine, Kenji. Storm has already moved up the coast from us." Dave then walked away, leaving Kenji with Roxie. "Cool! Time to show these fools what a Gyrosphere master can do."
Kenji goes off to get in a Gyrosphere, but got stopped by Roxie grabbing his arm. "No way! You are riding with Ben, as a passenger." She smiled, Kenji could not believe on what he had just heard. "But, seriously? But he's so." He didn't finish his sentence, instead Kenji looked to Ben who is already inside one, he nervously pushes the control stick forward, jerking the Gyrosphere forward a bit which made him faceplant against the glass.
Seeing that made Kenji deflate for he knew that this was going to get boring, next to him Roxie smirked. "Live it up, tough guy."
Lincoln and Clyde hop into the one they were eyeing, they get themselves settled in the seats and placed on their seatbelts. "This is going to be so cool!" Clyde exclaimed.
Lincoln nods in agreement, honestly he just wanted to go already and get in the middle of that herd, but they had to wait for the others to get settled in their own Gyrospheres and for when Dave and Roxie gave the word. Seeing how they were going to be waiting for a few minutes, Lincoln thought about the conversation he had with his family last night. They utterly loved the description that he gave about Bumpy to them, they really wished that he had taken a photo of her, so that they could see her for themselves. Lisa also asked about Dr. Wu and Lincoln basically told her that he didn't want anything to do with the campers, which didn't surprise Lisa as she knew that he was a very busy man. Another thing that Lincoln told his family is the dino-pooping clean up that Darius and Kenji had to do as punishment for sneaking out. They were understandably disgusted from that duty, except Lana who muttered that those two were lucky, for she would've loved to clean up a large pile of poop.
Dave's and Roxie's jeep passing by brings Lincoln out of his thoughts. The jeep drives only a short distance from them, before coming to a stop, Dave's voice is then heard through the speaker. "All righty, campers."
Now Roxie's voice came through. "The headsets are for emergencies. You can always reach us on channel six."
"Let the herding begin!" Dave happily announced.
With that the Gyrospheres took off towards the herd that were now being escorted by workers on ATV'S. Lincoln and Clyde rolled to the left of the herd, where they are now rolling alongside some sinoceratops and stegosaurs, to the side of the animals; the boys can see the enormous body of brachiosaurus. The animals turned to regard them as they kept on walking, while Lincoln looked at the one horn and the thrill of the sinoceratops and Clyde stared at the stegosaur's Thagomizer. He definitely wouldn't want to be at the end of that tail, for that tail could definitely impale him through the stomach and carry him around, until his body rots away enough to fall off.
Lincoln now slows the Gyrosphere down, so that they could look at the other dinosaurs that's fallowing behind the sinoceratops and stegosaurs. It was two heavily armored ankylosaurs; looking at these armor giants amazed them, especially since they could see that their eyelids were even armored. To think that Bumpy is going to grow up into one of these one day is astonishing. Clyde also thought that although the stegosaurus tail is deadly, the ankylosaurus's tail takes it to the next level. One hit from that tail club would really shatter them.
Lincoln slows the Gyrosphere down again for he noticed that the others were falling back a bit, Lincoln also noticed that the sky was getting darker and that lighting was flashing. "Looks like Dave was wrong about that storm moving off." Clyde commented as they got alongside the other Gyrospheres.
The jeep suddenly cuts them off from the herd, the door to Dave's side opens where the said counselor turned to them on his seat with a nervous smile. "Hey, gang, new plan. Storm's getting worse, so we're all going back to camp. Fun, right?"
Lincoln and Clyde felt disappointed when they heard that as they sat in their Gyrosphere, they wanted to continue on with the herd. They weren't the only ones disappointed however, as the other campers have came out of their Gyrospheres to complain.
"Don't blame me. Blame the storm." Dave said defensively.
"I blame them both." Roxie chimed in. "We're not gonna let a little rain stop us, are we." Darius stated in hopes of convincing them to continue. "When else will we get the chance to ride alongside a herd of dinosaurs?"
"Sorry, can't risk it." Dave said.
"But, Dave, I'm sure under you and Roxie's capable leadership, we'll"
"This is not up for discussion." Roxie firmly stated as she picked up the radio. "Hello, hello! Roxie here. Can you hear me? Anyone?" Only static with unintelligible words came out through the other end, which worried the two camp counselors, though Dave kept up a smile for the kids. "Okay, new, new plan. Storm's interfering with the radio, so Rox and I will drive ahead and tell the others we're pulling out. We'll be right back. Stay together and stay behind the herd." Dave closes the door and the jeep drove off, leaving the kids behind.
"Well looks like we're staying here a bit." Lincoln said.
"That's alright, I don't like the looks of that sky." Clyde points up to the dark sky that produced several lighting bolts that's fallowed by the loud booms of thunder. The two don't notice that the flashes and sound have spooked one of the sinoceratops, she runs away from her fellow herd members that continued to graze. Darius did notice however and decided to go after her, so that she can be lead back to the herd. Once he left, the others fallowed, except for Lincoln and Clyde.
"You think we should go after them?"
"Probably not a good idea Lincoln."
"Yeah, your probably right on that." So with them not joining on the chase, the boys had a clear view of the others chasing the sinoceratops around the grassy plain, it was very amusing watching the giant balls fallow after this large herbivore. That was until Darius got in front of the animal, the sinoceratops stops and roared, then charged and pushed the Gyrosphere towards the herd. The Gyrosphere spins out of control, then bumps into a parasaurolophus and a stegosaurus.
"Oh, that can't be good." And Clyde was unfortunately right as panic quickly spread within the herd, panic cries called out as the animals scattered everywhere, including right towards them. "Ah! Lincoln drive!"
Lincoln pulls down the joystick and the Gyrosphere goes around in circles, parasaurolophus rush past them as they cried out in fear, one of them bumps her rear leg against the vehicle, sending it forward as it spun around. Inside Lincoln and Clyde screamed as blurs of stampeding dinosaurs rush passed them, Clyde reached for the joystick and gets the Gyrosphere under control, which was a huge relief as they were beginning to have motion sickness. The relief didn't last long as a brachiosaurus came up to them, bellowing in alarm, the huge animal stopped, then kicked the Gyrosphere sending it into a another spin as it sped away. They regain control with their motion sickness advancing a bit, so along with holding in their stomach acids the boys maneuvered around dinosaurs. During this commotion they have no idea on where they are going, but they hope that they were heading straight for Dave and Roxie for they must know on what to do.
After passing a ankylosaurus that swung her tail at them, (which thankfully missed), they manged to get out of the stampede. Clyde wiped away some sweat as he breaths into his panic bag. "Phew!" Well that was terrifying."
"At least we're safe now." Lincoln drives the Gyrosphere further through the grassy plain, lighting flashes above them fallowed by loud thunder, Clyde looked out from his side and didn't recognize anything. "Where are we?"
"Somewhere in the plain, I think we'll be able find Dave and Roxie soon."
"Are you sure they came this way? We did get pretty turned around in that stampede."
"I guess we'll find out." Lincoln shrugged as he continues to drive the Gyrosphere, hoping to find the two camp counselors along with wondering what happen with Darius and the others? He soon drives the Gyrosphere uphill, it was a rather steep one which could help them as it would allow them to get a good view on the plain.
Reaching the top, it turned out that the hill was actually a small cliff that they found out by going over it and crashed to the ground where it bounced a bit and nearly hits a baby triceratops that ran off before it could hit her. From inside; the boys felt a little sore on their rear ends from that hard landing.
"Ow! That hurt my butt." Lincoln exclaimed as he rubbed his rear end, Clyde does the same thing to his rear end. "Ditto" He then looks over to the controls with concern. "Does the Gyrosphere still working?"
Lincoln reached over to the joystick and pushed it a bit, making it go forward a inch. "Yep, it works."
Clyde sighs in relief. "That's good." He then takes a look around their surroundings. "That was a sudden stop."
"Yeah, we probably should've stopped and turn around." Lincoln said as he still rubbed his rear, beside him Clyde looked passed his side and went wide eyed in fear. "Um, Lincoln."
"I don't know why I kept going, I guess it was because of fear or something."
"Lincoln" Clyde urged.
"Perhaps we should go around this cliff and find a way back to the others." Lincoln suddenly felt Clyde's hands grab hold of his head and turned him in the direction of where Clyde is looking at.
His words are instantly lost into a gasp as approaching the two is a large female triceratops that's the matriarch of her herd, behind her the baby triceratops stayed behind, hiding beneath another adult.
The matriarch stops and shakes her head aggressively, while kicking up dirt with her front foot. "Lincoln" Clyde began. "Let's get out of here!"
Lincoln quickly grabs the joystick and rolls the Gyrosphere forward. The matriarch charged with her head leaned down, she cuts the Gyrosphere off and hits it, sending it flying a bit, before it crashed down hard.
The boys jumped in their seats from the impact, their poor rear ends are doubly sore now. The angry matriarch bellowed in anger much to the boys fear, Lincoln reached for the joystick for they could still get out of here. His hand nearly got skewered as the triceratop's horn went through the right side glass, laying just inches from the boys bodies. They couldn't scream as they lost all their breath from how close they have to gotten of being impaled, they then felt themselves get lifted up into the air.
The matriarch grunts from the ball that's attached to her horn, shaking her head the matriarch throws the ball off of her, it crashed hard against the rock wall of the cliff cracking the glass on Clyde's side. The crash ached their bodies, along with feeling dizzy. Shaking off his dizziness, Lincoln grabbed hold of the joystick and tried to move again, but it wouldn't move, except when the matriarch bashes against it again, slamming the Gyrosphere against the rocky wall which breaks open Lincoln's side of the Gyrosphere.
Quickly Lincoln unbuckled his and Clyde's seatbelts. "Quick jump Clyde!" Grabbing hold of his best friend's hand, he and Clyde jumped out of the Gyrosphere just as the matriarch charges forward again. Running for shelter towards a rock, they heard a loud crash behind them as they covered their heads from any glass that flew past them.
Ducking behind the rock, the boys slowly peeked their heads out and watched as the matriarch bellowed loudly at the wrecked Gyrosphere, after her mighty bellow she shook her head and snorted. Looking at it for awhile, she determines that the ball is no longer a threat to the young, with another snort the matriarch turned around and headed back to the herd. Staying behind their rock, Lincoln and Clyde made sure that she is a very good distance away before coming out of their rocky shelter and back to the wreck Gyrosphere.
The top part of the glass is very much shattered leaving behind the rims and jacked remains of glass, sparks also shoot out from the control panel, it's safe to say that they weren't going to be using this vehicle anytime soon. "This is terrible! What are we going to do Lincoln? We were nearly killed! And no one knows where we are!"
"Clyde! Your spiraling." Lincoln cut in.
"Sorry, but what are we going to do?"
Lincoln looked over to the Gyrosphere's control panel, it was clear that the radio was busted, so they couldn't call for help, which left them with only one thing to do as he looked over to the cliff.
It took awhile with huffing and puffing, along with using all their arm strength, but finally Lincoln and Clyde reached the top of the cliff. They both got onto their knees feeling exhausted from all that climbing they did, it's well known by everyone back home that they weren't the most athletic kids and it was very evident now.
"Boy, that sure was a climb." Clyde panted.
Lincoln meanwhile gets himself up to his full height, looking down at the grassy plain where the sky looked like it is about to rain down. "Let's get moving. I don't want to get stuck in the rain."
The boys proceed to walk through the grassy plain, they could hear the thunder boom above them as well as the faint cry of a brachiosaurus. They both couldn't stop thinking about the attacked they faced earlier, talk about getting a close up experience. They thought that they would have to only worry more about the carnivores than the herbivores. Honestly they are lucky that they escaped with no visible injuries, though that's not to say that their emotional pain wasn't effected. They were still terrified over the fact that they could have been easily killed back there.
They didn't say anything about it as they walked, but they both agreed on one thing. "Our families can't find out about this." Lincoln spoke up.
"Oh yeah, definitely." Clyde agreed. "If my dads hear that we got attacked, they'll be here in an instant to take me home."
"With my family not far behind them." And he knew that was true. Considering his sisters can overreact when he gets a simple paper cut, if they heard about the attack, they'll storm the island. Of course it's a reasonable reaction as after all getting attacked by an animal that could easily kill you is no laughing matter. Heck, Lincoln admits that he would probably go overboard if one of his sisters faced the attack instead of him.
But overall since he and Clyde didn't want to go home yet, they are going to keep their mouths firmly shut. More lighting flashes through the sky which spooked them. "I wish it would just get it over with already." Lincoln remarked.
"I wonder if the others are okay?" Clyde wondered as Darius and the others might have faced their own dinosaur attack.
"I'm sure they're alright." Lincoln reassured his friend.
"I hope so. They could be facing a angry dinosaur or something."
"Don't worry Clyde, once we find Dave and Roxie, we'll be off to find the rest." There is a saying that if you speak the devil's name, he shall appear to you. Turns out the saying was true, (minus the devil part), as headlights from a jeep soon appears. The jeep parks in front of the boys, the window is quickly pulled down revealing the worried Roxie and Dave.
"Oh, thank goodness you both are okay." Roxie sighed in relief for how worried she and Dave have been over the campers safety. Dave immediately noticed that the Gyrosphere the boys have been driving was missing. "What happened to the Gyrosphere?"
"A triceratops wrecked it." Clyde answered with a frown. "We're terribly sorry for causing damage we caused to the vehicle. It was just so crazy back there."
"Forget the Gyrosphere! Are you alright buddy?" Dave asked for a dinosaur attack could easily injure them, or it could've been worse, way worse.
"Yeah, we're alright." Lincoln replied.
Dave relaxed a bit with that news. "Oh, thank goodness."
"Anyway get in. We gotta get the others." Roxie told them. Lincoln and Clyde get themselves settled in the back with Clyde asking. "Do you know where they are?"
"We got a location from Ben. They're in the jungle at sector 9." Roxie replied. Revving the gas, the jeep drove off towards the other campers location. When they found them, it was quite the sight as Ben, Kenji, Sammy, and Yasmina were standing in front of Darius's and Brooklyn's muddy Gyrosphere with a sinoceratops eating a fern in the background. "Hey, look! It's Dave and Roxie!" Sammy waves happily at them. "Hey!"
Dave and Roxie are speechless, not knowing what to say, while Lincoln and Clyde wondered what they have been through?
It was evening when Roxie and Dave brought the kids back to the safety of camp, Roxie opened up the elevator before turning to address Darius and the others. "You could have been killed! What were you thinking?"
"That we found a lost dinosaur and Darius and Brooklyn." Sammy replied happily.
"Don't ask me how I did it, but I did it." Kenji proudly added as they all got into the elevator, earning a laugh to escape from Brooklyn. "That's the funniest thing I've heard all day!"
"Your eyes were closed." Yaz added.
"Now stay in your bunks, you hear me?" Roxie firmly told them before the elevator doors shut and lifted the kids up towards the cabin.
"Weren't you crying at one point?" Sammy asked.
"Hey, I helped!" Kenji insisted in defense of himself.
"Oh, my gosh, he's serious." Brooklyn said.
"Wow, Kenji." Yaz commented.
"I still can't believe you and Darius almost drowned in mud." Clyde spoke up.
"And you guys got attacked by a triceratops." Brooklyn pointed out. "No doubt that you two won the contest on the most dangerous thing we faced today."
The elevator finally stops and they all poured into the cabin, speaking of pouring, the storm outside is finally releasing it's rain. Today was certainly very eventful to say the least, and Lincoln and Clyde definitely have developed a good appetite after this crazy day. After making some soup for themselves, the boys sat themselves down at a table, as they ate Kenji approaches them. "So, you had a close encounter with a triceratops huh?"
"Sure did." Clyde replied.
"Well" Kenji begins proudly "That's nothing compared to what happened to me and Darius yesterday."
"I'm sure cleaning up poop is nothing compared to nearly getting impaled, Kenji." Lincoln said.
"Oh contraire, my white hair friend. We didn't actually stick around to clean up dinosaur poop."
"You didn't?" Clyde asked.
"Nope, we actually snuck away to see a, um, what did Darius say it's name was? Oh yeah, a carnotaurus." Kenji could see that he had their immediate attention, which was great as now they can hear about his heroic actions.
"So we got there to see it, but it turns out we were inside its enclosure, so Toro, the name I gave the carnotaurus because of the horns on its head. Chased after us to get a little snack, but I managed to get out through the food holdout, but not Darius as the cage slammed down in front of him. Seeing how he was in trouble, I heroically and bravely open up the cage and got him out, just as Toro slammed his mouth into the cage and got a cut on his little nose."
"Whoa! That must've been intense." Clyde said.
"You bet it was. Oh, by the way, you guys aren't going to say anything are you?" Kenji nonchalantly asked. Lincoln in response raised his hand and waved it off. "Nah, don't worry man. Me and Clyde aren't snitches."
"That's a cool thing to be my white hair bro." Kenji then does a little stretch as he turned away from them. "Well, time to get into the shower before the others. See you bros later." Kenji heads off for the showers, leaving the two to enjoy their soup after a crazy day.
"So son, how was today like?" Lynn Sr. asked his son with Rita and the sisters standing in view of the camera, eagerly waiting for the latest Camp Cretaceous update.
"Well dad, we did a dino-drive." Lincoln happily answered.
"I didn't know dinosaurs could drive cars."
"No Leni, Lincoln meant that it was simply a cattle drive, but instead it was with the park's dinosaurs." Lisa explained.
"So it was cows driving cars?" Leni question with confusion, which earned her some groans from the family.
"So did you get very close to any dinosaurs?"
"Something like that Lana." Lincoln answered without going into any further details.
"That's awesome! Did you see a triceratops?"
"Oh yeah Lana. I definitely saw one." Lincoln chuckled a bit from the end of that answer.
"So, what are you doing tomorrow little bro?" Luna asked as she leaned forward. Lincoln had to think about it for a bit, for the events of today had made him forget a bit. "I think we're doing kayaking."
"That's rad."
"Oh! I just remembered Linky. I saw you in the new Brooklyn video!" Leni happily stated.
"How'd I look?" Lincoln asked for he didn't want himself to look silly or doing something embarrassing on the internet.
"You looked totes great." Leni happily replied.
"Oh yeah, I saw that video. Boy, the comments were brutal." Lynn said.
"Anyway Lincoln." Lucy spoke up now. "Have you consulted my warning?"
"Don't worry Lucy. Nothing bad is going to happen." Lincoln simply told her.
"Keep your eyes and ears open. The cards predict that something big is going to happen very soon." Lucy warned him.
Lincoln slowly nodded to his spooky sister. "Right Lucy. Well it's almost time for me log out, I'll talk to you guys tomorrow."
"Night Lincoln." Lincoln shuts off his laptop, that was a nice chat with his family and even better they don't even know about the whole triceratops incident. Clyde meanwhile had finished another letter and had placed it in a envelope, after doing that, he lets out a yawn. "Looks like it's time to turn in."
"Looks like it Clyde." Lincoln then has an idea. "Or we can have a late night video game session." Quickly Lincoln jumped out of his bunk and took out his hand held game, turning back to his best friend he immediately noticed the unsureness across his face. "But we're supposed to be in bed, Lincoln."
"Come on Clyde. We might as well do something different for tonight, besides I got our favorite video game with me." Lincoln brought up.
Clyde gasped a bit. "You mean the Ace Savvy video game."
Winking his eye, Lincoln points to him. "You know it."
"I do like that game, but what if we get caught?" Clyde didn't want to get into any trouble.
"Don't worry Clyde, I got the perfect plan."
The plan as it turned out was sneaking into the closet, when everyone was asleep and played their game with the sound off and the screen's light dimmed, as for their beds; they did the simple pillows under the blankets trick. The plan worked very greatly for them as they played their game, while everyone else is sound asleep completely oblivious.
Meanwhile in a cage that's five miles away from the camp. Heavy stomping could be heard as well as deep growling. From inside the cage a white hand with long claws lands on the wall and scratches deep marks into it.
A loud roar comes out from the thing that the hand belonged to.
