I don't own any of this Loud House belongs to Nickelodeon and Jurassic Park/World belongs to Universal.
Crashing through ferns and tall patches of grass, Lincoln and Clyde kept on running until they finally came to a slow stop on a dirt path, panting and sweating as they looked fearfully back, waiting for the rex to come crashing through the trees with that ear shattering roar of hers.
"I think we lost it." Lincoln panted out.
"Good" Clyde pulls out a bag from his front pocket and breaths into it to help calm his nerves. After calming his nerves somewhat, Clyde slowly places his bag back into his pocket before holding onto his stomach. "I taken the hotels are now out."
"I say that's correct." Lincoln confirmed.
"So where do we go now?"
"I don't know Clyde, but with all the abandon buildings that are on this island. I'm sure there's a place that we can crash in."
"The sooner the better as I really want to get off my feet right now."
"Me to, but there's no denying that with all this running around we've been doing, we're surly going to have some good legs." Lincoln commented before he and Clyde eventually went off to find a shelter for themselves.
The possibilities for a shelter on the island is endless, but also a difficult choice as the shelter needed to not only protect them from the outside elements, but also from dinosaur attacks. They could try to find that cave that they have found yesterday, but they didn't really know on where it was located and although it would protect them from big dinosaurs, it would do nothing against a smaller one who could just walk right in without a care in the world.
The underground tunnels might do better, but the more they thought about it, the more they realized that if they took a wrong turn during an emergency situation they could come upon a literal dead end.
They could go find a building down at main street as there are plenty of buildings and supplies there that can last them for weeks or months. The only thing that hindered them from going over there right now however is the rex, she could show up there whenever she pleases and has shown that she can bust right through buildings if she wanted to. Boy, this is going to be more difficult than they thought.
"So any ideas?" Clyde eventually asked.
"A few, but I'm having a difficult time on figuring out on where exactly we should go." Lincoln replied in mid-thought.
"Maybe we can stay at the ACU building." Clyde suggested.
"That's a possibility, but do you know where it is?" At that question, Clyde avoided eye contact with Lincoln in hesitation as he answered him. "Not really, but I'm sure we can find it. Right?"
"Possibly, although the odds of us finding it from where we currently are is most likely very low." Lincoln replied.
"I guess that's true." Clyde now goes silent for a bit as he thinks about what to say next. "So you know where we are now?" He eventually asked.
Lincoln shrugged. "Nope, not in the slightest. I wished that we had time to get a map back at the hotels."
"Yeah, a map would've been very helpful right now." Clyde agreed.
"At least I can see a clearing up ahead." Lincoln pointed out, they soon come into the clearing and discovered a surprising sight.
Up ahead of them is a lake with a bungalow on a raised platform with a trailer with solar panels parked next to it, right next to the structure is a dirt road that lead somewhere into the park. "Whoa! Look at this place." Clyde exclaimed with an impressed whistle.
"Yeah, whoever lived here must've been an outdoor lover." Lincoln began to walk towards the bungalow. "Come on, let's check it out."
Walking across the dirt road, they go pass a lawn chair and a wooden bench before climbing up the porch and up to the front door. Opening up the door they were met with one room that had several fish on the wall with a Guardians of the Galaxy calendar that is currently on Star Lord's picture for the month. There is also a desk that had tools and bike parts on it in the corner, there's also another desk in the middle of the room that has several notes, pencils and pens, a mug with the name Owen engraved on it, but the one thing on the desk that really interested them is a laptop.
"This is great Lincoln. We can use that laptop to get on a social media site and tell people that we're still on the island." Clyde happily exclaimed.
"Good thinking Clyde." Lincoln sits himself down on the wooden chair and opened up the laptop which displayed a password screen. "Dang it, we need a password."
"Hopefully whoever lived here has written it down somewhere." Clyde said with hope.
"Knowing are luck so far, it probably isn't." Lincoln blankly stated. Clyde however began to search through the desk with some optimism. "Come on Lincoln, we at least gotta try."
Lincoln shrugged as he might as well try. He begins to sort through the papers on the desk, however just as Lincoln had already expected the password isn't on the desk and upon checking everywhere else in the bungalow, it was clear that the password isn't anywhere in here. "I knew that luck wasn't going to be on our side." Lincoln slightly grumbled.
Clyde meanwhile wasn't going to give up that easily as he stood there thinking with his finger on his chin. "Perhaps the password is in that trailer next door."
"Yeah hopefully." Lincoln mumbled lowly.
They exited out of the bungalow and quickly made their way over to the trailer. Going into the trailer they saw a picture of a man standing next to a motorcycle, if they outta guess right now, they say that the guy in the photo is Owen and he looked like a pretty cool guy.
They weren't here however to marvel at this guy in the photo as they do have a mission to complete and that's what they attended to do as they proceed to rummage through the place with not at all being neat while doing it. Much like the bungalow they haven't found a thing that told them what the laptop's password was, which is a big disappointment for Clyde who looked to the floor sadly, while Lincoln just looked bitterly down to his own feet.
The dark shadow of bad luck is really hitting them hard during these past couple of days. They suppose that a good thing that came out of this is that they did find a place for them to temporarily stay in while being stuck on this island; this place provided them with shelter from the outside elements and a good place to hide in if a hostile dinosaur comes along, and hey since its next to a lake they have drinking water and a place to fish for food. If they can catch some fish that is.
Clyde soon slowly looked up and looked around at the mess they had created during their intense search. "We sure have made a mess of the place, haven't we?"
"I guess we have." Lincoln stated as he looked around himself. "I suppose we should clean this place up." And that's exactly what they did, they picked up everything that they had dropped on to the floor or messed up on the shelves.
After they were finished cleaning up their mess, they went outside and sat themselves down on the porch steps of the bungalow, thinking hard as they stared out to the lake. "So at least we have a place to stay in now." Clyde spoke up.
"Yep" Silence befalls upon them as they continued to lookout towards the lake where the sun's light is reflecting off from the water.
"You know, despite the danger of death at every corner. This island can be quite peaceful." Clyde admitted which earned a sigh from Lincoln. "It's just too bad that we aren't back at camp enjoying it with the others."
"Ain't that the truth." It really was too bad as Clyde is pretty sure that today they were supposed to be doing an obstacle course and that it was going to be way more safer than what coach Pacowski can come up with.
Suddenly the rumble of his stomach draws Clyde out of those thoughts and reminded him that they haven't eaten anything for a long time. "Man, I sure am hungry."
Lincoln felt his stomach rumble himself and gently places his hand on it. "Oh yeah, I can go for something to eat right now."
"What should we have?"
"Maybe we should try to do some fishing." Lincoln suggested as he looked to the lake where several fish are swimming in.
"We could, but it might take awhile and we might not get anything. Besides I'm too hungry to wait."
"Alright fair point. What do you think we should have then?"
Clyde places his finger underneath his chin for he remembered something. "I do recall seeing some berries as we walked over here."
Lincoln nodded a bit. "Berries do sound good. Do you remember where you saw them?"
"I think, but I'll definitely remember if we come across the area." Clyde assured.
"Well then." Lincoln gets himself up from the porch. "Let's find those berries."
While going through the jungle the boys are being extremely cautious as they walked slowly, kept their ears open for any danger, and kept close to the trees to hide behind. They haven't encountered anything yet, but that didn't mean that the area is clear of anything or that something wasn't going to come into the area.
Ducking behind another tree, Lincoln peeks out to check around the area. "Does anything look familiar yet?" Lincoln asked Clyde.
After looking around carefully for anything that may jog his memory, Clyde shook his head. "Not yet Lincoln."
Seeing no danger they walked on forward towards a large tree. "Hopefully we're getting close to the berries as I don't want to loose our way to our new shelter."
"Don't worry Lincoln. I think we're getting closer to the berries."
"You think? Or you know?" Lincoln questioned.
Clyde doesn't answer and instead he just simply shrugged his shoulders, with that answer Lincoln hesitantly felt doubt in his best friend's sense of direction, although he doesn't say anything about it as he didn't want to hurt Clyde's feelings.
They duck and pass behind more large trees and when they came across an area that had no large trees, they checked around before dashing into some thick bushes. Yet the further they traveled, the more Lincoln's doubt grew, his struggle on not to say anything to Clyde rumbled in his vocal cords like a geyser and like a geyser the pressure before eruption is becoming too great for him to keep in. Lincoln couldn't take it anymore, he opens his mouth to say something, but thankfully Clyde suddenly spoke up in delight, thus stopping Lincoln from saying anything. "Wait! I think I recognized this area."
"You do?" Lincoln question with relief for it looks like he doesn't have to hurt Clyde's feelings. Clyde meanwhile looked around to make sure that he did recognized the place. "Yes, I recognized that rock over there." He stated as he pointed over to a large rock.
"If I remember correctly the berries should be just about." Clyde rushes over to a palm tree and moved aside a bush to reveal some red berries. "Here"
"Alright Clyde." Lincoln quickly made his way on over to the bush, he's about to grab one when he suddenly stopped as he had realized something important that most survival guides have mention when you find berries in the wilderness. "Are these safe to eat?"
"I'm not sure." Clyde admitted as that question came to his mind just now, just like Lincoln. "Maybe we can find a way to see."
"I'm not sure how, unless we eat one for a test and I'm not so sure if that's such a good idea." Lincoln exclaimed.
"Yeah, it probably isn't. But how else are we going to test it?" Clyde pointed out.
"I was afraid you were going to say that." In hesitance Lincoln reached over and plunked out one berry. Very slowly Lincoln raised the berry up to his mouth and just as slowly placed it in it, where he then slowly chews it and shallowed it, as this happens Clyde watched in worry.
"How do you feel, Lincoln?" He hesitantly asked.
"Good so far." Lincoln replied.
"Do you feel like that you might throw up or have diarrhea?" He asked with worry in his voice, which Lincoln thankfully shook his head. "I think they're pretty safe to eat."
At this information setting in Clyde smiled brightly. "Well in that case." Quickly coming on over, Clyde began to gouge himself with berries with Lincoln joining in on the feast.
The berries were absolutely delicious and is filling up their empty bellies very nicely which is such a huge relief for them. The way they were wolfing them down resulted in their faces being covered in their juices, Clyde picked up another cluster of berries when a shriek from behind made him drop the berries in fright while Lincoln nearly choked on his berries.
Quickly turning around they expected to see a large dinosaur bearing down on them, but upon looking down it turns out that it was just a flock of compies that looked up at them with bird-like curiosity. Seeing that it was just some compies eased them greatly for at least it wasn't the T-Rex, the compies meanwhile; hop a bit with some of them looking at each other while making soft clitter noises.
Clyde raises his hands up and makes a soft sooing gesture. "Come on guys nothing to see here. Go on get to a nice shade or something."
The compies payed Clyde's gestures with no mind, instead the one in front of the flock hopped over and made a short shriek that intimidated him a bit. Seeing how intimidated Clyde was becoming and also becoming a bit intimidated himself, Lincoln leaned down and picked up a stick where he proceeds to swing it around like a broom. "Come on, get out of here!"
The compies scattered away in panic, disappearing into the undergrowth. With that crisis adverted both Lincoln and Clyde decided to take a couple of berries and held them with the front of their shirts, then headed back towards their shelter to eat in peace.
They sat themselves down on the porch with full bellies, feeling completely at peace for the first time in the day. Those berries have definitely hit the spot and regain some energy that they have lost during the past two days, but right now they don't feel like moving at all.
A burp escapes from Clyde who let's out a slight blush and placed his hand on his mouth. "Whoops. Excuse me."
"No worries Clyde. No one is going to be judging you here." Lincoln reassured as he patted his own belly.
"I guess your right on that. So what's the plan now?" Clyde then asks.
Lincoln leans himself back and rests his hands on the back of his head. "I don't know about you Clyde, but I feel like just settling down for now."
"That's probably going to be for the best, what with all that running and screaming we've been doing."
"Exactly. My legs need some rest after all that." With that statement clear, Lincoln shuts his eyes and let's the sunlight shine down on him. Clyde fallows shortly after feeling just as relaxed as his best friend which is exactly what the two needed after the trauma they had endured on this island.
They relaxed themselves under the sun until it went down and the darkness of night overtook the sky. Now with the aspects of night overtaking the island, Lincoln and Clyde have started up a fire in a fire pit located behind the trailer.
The fire crackled as they held their hands up to it, Lincoln thought that if Luna were here right now, she would be providing nice campfire music with her acoustic guitar. They also wished that they had some marshmallows right now as standing around this fire made them develop an appetite for some. "Man, this has been quite the day now hasn't it." Lincoln began.
"You said it buddy. Placing a cast on your wrist, having an encounter with a T-Rex, and finding ourselves a nice shelter to rest ourselves in." Clyde smiled a bit as the fire continued to crack. "So what's our plan for tomorrow?"
"I don't know. I guess we're going have to start on learning about living off the land. Which luckily this isn't my first time on being stranded on a island. We should also begin thinking about setting up something for a rescue party to see when they eventually arrive."
"Like something reflective." Clyde suggested.
"That could work or maybe we can set off a radio signal." Lincoln replied.
"If we're going to do that, then we're going have to get a radio." Clyde pointed out.
"I don't think that's going to be much of a problem. We can just get a radio in a jeep and luckily for us there's no shortage of jeeps around here. All we need to do is go to a garage and bingo we have a radio."
"Looks like we gotta a plan then." Clyde said with a smile, Lincoln smiled as well for they might have a way to get help. "Yes we do."
"Though I wouldn't mind stopping at main street for some new pants." Clyde turns to show his ripped up pants that Lincoln honestly completely forgot about. "Oh yes, of course. We definitely need to get you some new pants."
"Hopefully will find some that fits." Clyde said.
"Don't worry Clyde, I'm positive we'll find a perfect pair of pants for you."
"I hope as I'm tired of feeling the breeze going through my buttocks."
"Buttocks?" Lincoln questioned.
"I'm trying to be creative." Clyde answered.
"Ah" The boys continued to stand by the fire for what they guess was about a half-hour, without a watch it's really hard to tell. What they can tell however is that they are becoming quite bushed.
Deciding that it was time to turn in for the night, the two put out the fire to avoid gaining unwanted attention or accidentally start a wildfire. After putting out the fire, they went into the trailer and turned in with Clyde sleeping on the bed and Lincoln on the couch. It was decided that they would flip on where they are going to be sleeping on, so by tomorrow Lincoln would be sleeping on the bed and Clyde on the couch.
It was just unfortunate that they weren't exactly going to have pleasant dreams as they consisted of Lincoln being chased by the T-Rex before the large mouth clamped down on his top half, get shook around a bit and then getting shallowed down whole. Clyde's dream however involved him meeting face to face with that carnotaurus with the scar on its snout, he turned to run only to get launched into the air as the horn headed carnivore bumped him with his head with the horns going into Clyde's back.
Poor Clyde crashed to the ground with the wind out of his body and paralyzed. The carnotaurus walked up and placed his foot on Clyde's stomach to hold him down as the predator leaned down and grabbed Clyde's top half, then tore him in half like a taco.
It was not hard to say that with these nightmares, both boys tossed and turned in their sleep as they moaned uncomfortably.
Sleep is virtually non-existent in both the Loud and McBride households. They are all simply too worried and scared to even think of going to bed since from what they saw and heard on the news both Lincoln and Clyde weren't at the airplane hanger where the evacuated people were sent to for medical care before going home on free plane rides that was generously donated by the Masrani Corporation for what had happened at the park.
When both families have woken up that morning, they immediately went to their TV's to watch the report on the evacuation update for Jurassic World. They felt horrified when the camera panned to some of the injured people that had bandages covered on their body parts, but nevertheless they kept their eyes peeled for any signs of Lincoln and Clyde.
The Louds just needed to see a kid with white hair and then their fears can finally be at peace, as that would mean he and Clyde are safe. The McBride's also kept their eyes open for Lincoln's white hair as at least they would know that their baby would be next to him, as they knew that Lincoln would stick by Clyde's side through out this whole terrible disaster.
When they couldn't see a hair trace of them, they began to feel their stomachs bubble in worry, but felt that small chance of hope that they were just simply out of the camera's view, that hope shattered into a million pieces when the news listed off the people who were missing which included Lincoln and Clyde along with the names of the other kids that were attending the camp with them.
The news had stated that the ones who were missing have most likely perished and that the families should begin to grieve for their losses. Hearing that terrible statement, the Louds felt like that they have turned into stoned as they have become completely frozen with wide open mouths.
"It can't be true right mommy and daddy? Linky can't be dead?" Lola cried out, not wanting to believe on what she had just heard on the news.
"It can't be true. Lincoln is too cleaver to just be gone." Lana cried out as well.
"Yeah, Lincoln is probably on that island right now, leading Clyde to a radio tower or something to call for help." Lynn stated for her bro is too tough to be eaten by some extinct lizards. She wished that she was on that island right now as Lincoln and Clyde needed help and she would fight a raptor to protect them.
"Given the amount of large theropods, ceratopsions, stegosaurs, and other dangerous animals that are now roaming freely on the island. Not to mention that no one is going to be returning to the island after the terrible incident that had happened yesterday. I say that the chances for our beloved male sibling unit and his equally beloved companion survival on the island is very low."
"We literally don't need to hear that right now, Lisa." Lori snapped.
"Yeah dude! Give our bro more fate than that." Luna adds with her hands on her hips.
"Seriously not funny Lisa." Luan said with crossed arms of disapproval.
Lisa wasn't intimidated by the glares her older sisters gave her and just blinks at them. "I'm just stating the obvious facts as there's absolutely no way anyone can survive for very long on that island."
"That's really morbid. Even by my standards." Lucy stated.
"Life and reality can be a very cruel mistress." Lisa simply replied.
Hearing this, along with what she saw on the news, Rita could feel her eyes water over the horrible thought that her baby could very well be dead. It's every parent's worst nightmare to think that their child could be dead somewhere so far out of their reach and had no way of stopping it.
"Lisa, we really need to talk about compassion with other people's feelings." Lynn Sr. spoke up while close to tears himself.
"If only there is a way to see if Linky is okay." Leni cried out.
"If only that were true Leni." Lisa then went wide eyed and nearly facepalm herself for how could she have forgotten that she did have a way to check on her brother. Her tracking implants only works when the human body is in full working order from every electrical signal from the brain to the amount of blood the heart pumps out. If Lincoln is still alive? Then his tracker would still be active, which would be great news for her and the rest of the family.
Quickly Lisa jumped off of the couch and made her way over to the stairs, which her family have quickly notice. "Where you going Lisa?" Leni asked.
"I'm going to check on something really quick." Lisa quickly replied as she raced up the stairs and into her room where she picked up her tracker. "Alright I just got to set to Lincoln's chip number and here we go."
The tracker beeps and shows a blinking light on the island. This is great news as it did mean that he was still alive, but Lisa still worried as her views of slim survival while being on that island still stood. However Lisa will tell her family that he is still alive as at least that would make them happy to know that he is still walking around.
