Kept you waiting huh? So anyways, my vote poll is cast on my profile if I should do the crossover with The Lunar Witch and Fate/Apocrypha. Cast your vote by July 4th and we'll see if a Holy Grail War with 21 Servants is a thing. Oh, and the Servants are the ones playable in the Extella series. So no request for any specific Servants.
Gacha results for Download Campaign! Brynhildr is now NP 2, and Scathach is now NP 5! As a fan of hers, and her VIP treatment in the movie, I had to reward her for that. Now I have to wait until I can unlock her bunny girl outfit... I also chose Tamamo for the free 5 star since I had Waver already, I wanted to get Mikon~! NP 5 and I was short one. I was kinda struggling between choosing her or Jeanne since she's also at NP4 and my VIP in Olympus against Wodime alongside Mash in the longest drawn out fight against him and that she was my very first 5 Star when I started the game at launch.
But foxy wife with fluffy tail won me over in the end. I'll get Jeanne's next time.
Now all I have to do is wait for the anniversary so Artoria Caster is available.
Hyakinthos was sweating. Things were not going as his god had planned and now his own familia was currently in a state of fear and paranoia. A thief has been stealing their supplies, forcing them to forage for food. An imposter was among them, creating levels of distrust as allies were being picked off one by one as the imposter was making audible laughter whenever he gets away with his schemes.
But did you know what was the worst part of this night? The two reinforcements from the Artemis Familia the Hestia Familia called in were hunting and putting each one of his fellow brethren in that damn medic's tent. Said medic was outside of the valley and had kept every member of the Apollo Familia that were injured restrained after he fully healed them. That doctor was spiting them by making sure the healed don't return to give them an edge against the Hestia Familia.
But what was the point? Fifty-six of their familia had been taken out of the picture. Twenty-three by the goddaughter of Riveria who are now dead, thirteen were knocked out by the huntresses and ten were badly injured by the imposter.
Another explosion and this time a violent torrent of wind blew from that direction. Somehow, those huntresses have used magic swords as arrows. It was absurd, and they had to flee in order not to be blasted by them. How the hell did they pull it off?!
*Before the War Game-Hestia Familia*
"This is all I have." Welf explained, presenting several Crozzo Magic Swords in front of Hakuno and Morgan.
"So, this is what has become of Urus' blood bonded. The magic swords no longer carrying the potential of its wielder. Nothing more than a limited piece of ammunition for the occasion." Morgan stated, disappointment faintly in her voice as Welf blinked at that. He assumed that was the name of the Spirit his ancestor had been blessed by in the past.
"What's their limit mom?" Hakuno asked as Morgan's eyes narrowed.
"Few in terms of launching devastating magic. Afterwards, the metal will give in and break." The Witch Queen answered while Hakuno sighed and gave Welf an apologetic look.
"Welf, even if used correctly, they are useless in the long run, and we are trying to minimalize casualties." Hakuno told him as Welf frowned and scratched the back of his head in frustration. The amount of power these things held weren't considered 'safe' in terms of restraint power. Used improperly and people would die left and right.
"I'm aware of that. But if they can help in some way, even the smallest of ways, then I know I helped." Welf admitted begrudgingly as Hakuno cupped her chin in thought. How was she going to use powerful magical weapons with limited lifespan to their fullest destructive capabilities? When she saw Rethusa and Lante stockpiling quivers full of arrows an image from her past came up.
In the Far Side, an ally had appeared when she needed it the most. A red clad stoic bowman that used swords as arrows. A tactical fighter that made her be creative with fighting methods until Nero and Gilgamesh recovered.
That memory of that bowman caused her to slowly look at the magic swords and then the two huntresses as an idea came up to her. "Mom, can you preserve and divide the magic sword's powers if broken and turned into arrow heads?" she asked. Morgan raised a brow but then saw that her daughter was hatching a scheme of sorts and realized where she was going with them. Devious. Just like her mother.
*Present*
"I'm torn now. Happy that my magic swords are now actually useful in a sense…but at the same time disappointed with how they're being used." Welf slumped as Bell tried to comfort his only male friend. His magic swords were turned into arrow heads for the Artemis huntresses to fire off and terrify the Apollo Familia at night.
One talent for the Artemis Familia was when they hunt at night. For their ability to shoot in the darkness was precise as it was during the day. Combine that with a Crozzo magic sword turned into multiple arrows with formidable destructive capabilities spelt doom for the unwary.
"I CALL FOR A DUEL WITH THE CAPTAIN OF THE HESTIA FAMILIA!" a voice rang out in the night sky, getting everyone to blink and pause. It was Hyakinthos that made the call and Hakuno projected her voice via magecraft to answer.
"Why should I permit a duel when we're at war?" Hakuno's projected voice demanded as Hyakinthos gritted his teeth as he felt the veins on his head threaten to pop. It wasn't easy for him. He was the pride and joy of his beloved sun god and here he was becoming desperate for his familia's survival against an impossible enemy.
If he was going to go down, he'd do so with dignity as the Captain of the Apollo Familia.
"I know how horribly outclassed my fellow members are against you and your ally's. I can attest to that." Hyakinthos admitted begrudgingly. "So, in order to spare them of any further harm, we settle it with a duel as the first children of our gods. We their pride and joy, will face each other honorably so any potential loss of life could be prevented. What say you, Holy Witch?" he asked. He knew her reputation for her brutality, but also of her benevolence. If he played on that, then he'd have a shot at getting everyone out of this mess alive and well.
"Hmm…given my own condition and the need to rest under Amid's orders, I will send in my Vice-Captain, Bell Cranel to face you in my stead." She replied. Hyakinthos blinked at that and inwardly sighed in relief. He was worried that she would send the Sword Princess to face him. A recent Level 2 like Bell Cranel should be an easier foe to face. (If only he know the boy's current stats…)
*?*
Battle, conflict, bloodshed.
These were the tribute it longed for, as the War Game between the Hestia Familia and Apollo Familia had offered it quite the bounty. Now its injuries have healed, and the blade hungered for the witch that escaped the finality it delivered. The Horseman War launched itself to the sky and became a crimson shooting star, intent on claiming the life of a worthy foe and acquire her soul for its growing collection of warriors.
For some reason, that very soul reminded War of something in the past. Off all the souls Mother had created it from, this one soul was artificial and distorted, lost in the currents of time when it had become the main template War was based upon. Both the Horseman's nature as war itself and the supposed 'human' whose soul sought for endless war resonated with each other well.
But both sides were obsessed with the girl. War sought her power and skills since she was the most formidable foe it had ever fought so far. While the mortal soul that was the main aspect of it sought to have her become a Disciple of War. She would do fine as an anointed one for War, for she was born from those depths of combat. The smell of the slain were on her hands and she was the victor of that grand conflict.
*Valley*
Gilgamesh opened his eyes, his dreams interrupted on a sour note as he picked up that rancid odor of that Horseman. "Tiny Empress, that wretch returns again." He said with scorn in his voice. Nero would have snapped at him for the tone if what he was implying didn't make sense. She knew only one thing in this world could draw upon such hatred in his voice as much as it did her. War. The being responsible for harming their beloved Master and making her lose her arms like so. Nero jumped down from the Vimana as Gilgamesh pulled out the key to his treasury.
Both he and Nero were without a Master. Their contracts with Hakuno severed by the Moon Cell before she was thrown into this world. They could sustain themselves with the magical energy from the environment, but the downside is that their combat potential is limited. And the usage of their strongest trump cards, their Noble Phantasms would exhaust them without a Master to contract them.
He and Nero didn't reestablish the contract with Hakuno because this was her journey, she was walking without them. But under the direst of circumstances would make them jump into the fray. So, while he can't use Enuma Elish, Gilgamesh could still use Ea at lower outputs. Even then it was pushing it and Nero only has one shot to use her Domus Aurea and all its benefits to wear the Horseman down.
Honestly, his Queen loved making things difficult for her Servants. But they love her for it. It helps show how much they care even if they have handicaps on them.
"PRAETOR!"
At the meeting point of the duel, everyone on both sides blinked and looked up as Nero was free falling before landing on her feet elegantly and rush to Hakuno. "Praetor, we must evacuate. The Horseman draws near!" Nero exclaimed.
Everyone suddenly looked unnerved as Hyakinthos scoffed. "Impossible, that monster is in another country recuperating. There's no way it could heal that fast!" as if to prove him wrong, the entire valley shook as something crash-landed near them with a horrifying blood red aura around its being. The sound of a snorting horse echoed through the valley walls as flames began consuming the life in the area around them. War was here, and it hungered for blood.
"Truce?" Hakuno offered nonchalantly as she flexed her prosthetic arms, intent on payback for the loss of her original arms.
"TRUCE!" Hyakinthos instantly agreed as the Apollo Familia turned their weapons towards War with anxiety and fear.
The Hestia Familia looked at War with pure anger, for it was this very being that was responsible for so many things in the last month. Ais drew Desperate, the winds dancing around her as her golden eyes reflected the opponent's visage before her. Primo began to chant the aria of the magecraft Wodime taught her, resolve in her eyes as Ryu stood in front of her protectively with her wooden sword aimed at War. Haruhime began to cast her Uchide no Kozuchi to both Hestia and Apollo Familia members with Lili returning from her disguise and standing in front of her fellow Supporter with crossbow armed and aimed at the manifesting minions of War.
Bell had the Hestia Knife and Ushiwakamaru in hand as lightning and flame danced onto the weapons respectively as he narrowed his eyes and gritted his teeth. He was powered by a desire to protect his family this time around. His two inspirations were standing side by side as they face an inhuman entity intent on killing them all and they show only their valor. Little did he know that small bell chimes were engulfing his right hand with the Hestia Knife.
Welf pulled off his back one magic sword, the one he made to prove his Crozzo lineage to Hephaistos in the past, now with a purpose and a foe to unleash its blazing fury upon. All of this for the sake of those he truly considers friends and will die protecting them if he must.
Nero brandished her sword as Gilgamesh casually appeared in a show gold dust, the Sword of Rupture Ea in his hands as the three segments of the blade were slowly beginning to turn. More than that, Barghest had her blade and black hounds at her call, and Morgan herself manifested seven Rhongomyniads that hovered menacingly around their conjurer as Morgan's spear shone with a menacing light.
Hakuno lips parted, intent on making sure no one dies as she decided that her variant on Merlin's Garden of Avalon was needed. "Let me tell you a tale of the fairies…" she began, donning a mischievous smile that would make the Magus of Flowers proud.
Wow...I can't believe I did that. Originally it was going to take place after the War Game and several people from other Familia help in a final showdown with War. Yet my sleep deprived brain cooked this up instead. Whatever, sleep first. Then plan on next chapter's fight sequence. And we'll get to see Hakuno's version of Garden of Avalon in full swing! Look forward to how broken it is thanks to Merlin!
