Ruth stared at her husband for a moment, still not sure if she was dreaming or having some sort of hallucination.
"Ruth." He cupped her face gently as she closed her eyes. His lips were on his in seconds as she clung to him, only pulling away when the need for oxygen overcame them both.
"As hello's go." He smiled at her as she rested her head on his shoulder.
"Was beginning to believe it was true."
"I'm alive, Ruth. I am definitely alive." He took her hand, resting it over his heart. "See?"
"Can you stay? Now. I mean."
"For a while." He smiled at her. "Ruth, this is so much more than just Section D. Krycheck has a personal grudge against me. I understand her logic even if I don't agree."
"Illya murdered Elena. Not you."
"Yes, but in doing so allowed us to stop the plane crash."
"And? She wanted the crash to happen? What is wrong with the woman?"
"Money is a powerful motivator. Ruth, Elena was not above using whatever ideology that was going to make her the most money. Her sister is the same. The explosions this week."
"Were her."
"I believe so."
"And she has links to the man currently in your office." Ruth sat back in the tatty arm chair. "Farquhar is a traitor, I know it. His brother in law is Andrew Gillingham. Who just happens to be up to his eyes in debt. Harry. If they are trying to make money out of this I am struggling to see how."
"Money is the root of all evil."
"Yes but."
"Ruth."
"He's trying to dismantle the Section. The junior officers are terrified of being decommissioned or redeployed. Dimitri has been consigned to desk duty. Zoe is supposedly covering for Catherine and I. She is not a trained analyst. She's good but."
"She's not you." Harry tucked a strand of her hair behind her ears. "We will get to the bottom of this. He removes anyone and the minute I'm back I'll reinstate them."
"Why do you have to be dark? Why."
"Ruth." He kissed her, suddenly doubting himself. "I have to find this woman. I have to be the one she goes after. If she believes me to be dead the rest of the Section may be safe. You may be safe." Ruth pulled him to her, kissing him deeply.

Zoe poured coffee into her mug as Will stepped into the small kitchenette.
"You ok?"
"No." Zoe snapped before immediately regretting her tone. "Sorry. I."
"Its the whole situation. I get it." He set about making a cup of tea for himself. He sighed. "Zo, Ros has been in the office for ages."
"Ros can take care of herself."
"Yeah, beginning to worry she has killed him."
"No." Zoe sipped her coffee. "Don't worry about Ros, she isn't that stupid."

Ros marched out of the office towards the Pods in silence. She was determined to keep her mouth shut until she got out of the Grid. She stormed through the Pods, heading towards the lifts before realising Lucas was following her.
"Ros."
"Not here." She stated as the lift arrived.
"Where?"
Ros raised an eyebrow before stepping into the lift. He was next to her in a second, could almost feel the tension radiating from her like electricity. Lucas nodded before leaning back against the lift. He knew his wife well enough to see the fear just under the surface, hidden by the layer of ice she was covering it with. Minutes later she was heading towards her car as Lucas caught her arm.
"Look." He nodded as she swore under her breath.
"They wouldn't." She took a step forwards. "Not here."
"Below Thames House?" Lucas kept his eyes on the small red light he had spotted just to the left of the headlight. "I think they have. He thinks Harry is dead, Ruth and Catherine are out of action and he is doing his best to separate and isolate us all. What better way to complete that than killing the Section Chief? Especially with the Section Head apparently dead."
Ros nodded, before looking around the deserted car park.
"Ok, well lets give him what he thinks he wants." She stepped back a few feet as Lucas did the same. Raising her hand she clicked the keys, pointing them at the car. Lucas fell backwards as their car exploded, sending fire into the air around them. Ros raised herself up on her elbows.
"No more games, Lucas."
Lucas could feel his ears ringing as he tried to listen to his wife.
"Ros."
"No more games, he just tried to make our kids orphans. He's not getting away with that."
