"Let's talk to Devon first." Xander suggested. "It's possible he's innocent of any wrong doing and just an employee, in which case, we don't want him getting caught in the crossfire if the owner decides to take exception to being arrested."

"That's a good idea." Detective Stein agreed. "Would he be at work right now?"

"No." Tika said. "We only went on a couple of dates before I decided all he has going for him is being good looking. But I did learn that he only works part time at the Magic shop, just Saturdays. He has gigs with his band during the week. Oz has class during the day and Devon has the house the band shares to himself. He's most likely to be there right now."

"I know where it is." Xander said. "Oz is a friend after all, it's the house he inherited from his father. After he and his band mates graduated, all but Devon decided on college at UC Sunnydale, rather than live in the dorm, he invited them to stay with him."

"Devon doesn't believe Magic Is real, he told me that when I was checking him out for Tika." Faith said. "Is he aware of Oz being a werewolf? It hasn't come up the couple of times Oz and I have gone on a date ourselves."

"I don't know, it isn't something he's mentioned to me either." Xander replied. "But it's his business who he trusts with that information."

"I'll question him." Detective Stein decided. "But I'd like you to come with me, Xander. I'm struggling with my anger right now and I refuse to let it get in the way."

"I understand, I read about the berserker rage Akmohoalii are capable of and Uncle Rory says you use hunting in the ocean to keep control over yourself."

"Drugs and kids are a sore spot for me and Jay is the reason why." He confessed. "I lost my brother to it, if it was possible to pass this off to someone else, I would. I'd be ethically bound to, but there's no other Wesen on the force, so I have to hold it together and do this."

"We'll help you." Xander agreed.

"I get where you're coming from." Matthew said. "Rage is pretty much what I'm feeling myself right now." They followed Xander and Cordelia in Xander's car over to Oz's house.

"Faith, Diana and I will wait out here with Matthew, Margaret and Tika." Rory told them when they arrived. "Backup just in case." Margaret and Tika remained in the car and talked, Tika was still blaming herself and Margaret refused to let her. Matthew paced back and forth by the car, impatient to get to the Magic shop and confront the idiot who thought selling drugs to his daughter was a good idea. Cordelia, it was decided, would go in with Xander and Detective Stein since she knew Devon personally. It was hoped he'd be more willing to talk to them if someone who was sort of a friend was there as well.

"Devon, can we talk to you?" Cordelia asked when he answered the door.

"Sure, what's up?" He asked.

"This is Detective Paul Stein of the Sunnydale PD, Devon. He needs to talk to you." She told him.

"Why? I don't sell pot anymore, the guys asked me to give it up and I agreed. I didn't want them getting in trouble because of me, especially since Oz is letting us live here."

"That's good to hear." Detective Stein replied. "But that's not why we're here. The tea that the Magic shop sells, Tika McNally buys it."

"Yeah, my boss recommended, for like stress or something."

"The most recent batch she got, Jesse McNally had a reaction to it and has ended up in the hospital. It turns out, the tea is made from mold. That's illegal and could kill people." An abbreviated explanation being the best the Detective could offer. "We need to know if the owner of the Magic shop is aware of it."

"He makes it himself." Devon told him, his brow crinkling. "Cuts it in the back, I'm not allowed back there and I never asked about it. He just says it's a special blend. He doesn't just sell tea though, he's also got a special tobacco blend that he cuts himself."

"Thank you for letting me know that." Paul told him. "I want you to come with us, you're not under arrest, but I need to keep an eye on you until I can confirm you're not involved and until I can do that, I can't be sure you won't alert him. What's your boss's name?"

"Merrick Rack."

"And he owns the Magic shop?"

"Yes, he has some other kind of business, but he never talks about it. Something to do with the Magic crap."

"You work in a Magic shop, but don't believe in Magic?" Xander asked curiously.

"It's a job." Devon shrugged, following them out with Paul behind him.

"Anything else you can thinks of to tell us before we go talk to your boss?" Paul asked.

"He has a pet, a big ass Gila monster. He sometimes carries it on his shoulder."

"Gila monster, huh? They're poisonous." Paul mused. "And require permits to own. Something else to check into." He loaded Devon into the back of his car. "Real Magic or not, your Hexenbiest friend might come in handy before we actually go in." He murmured to Xander.

"I'll call her. She stayed at the hospital to wait for a chance to see Jesse, they're together." He bent done and addressed Devon through the window of Paul's car. "Is there a back door to the shop?"

"Yes, in the alley way."

"Thanks." He straighten up and he and Cordelia headed for his car, calling Amy along the way. It was time to talk to Merrick Rack.
