A month had passed and Cristina had sold the apartment. She was now in the process of moving into Callie and her new apartment across from the hospital and it was really nice. While packing up the old place she came across some of Burke's stuff and for a moment she felt nauseous then she thought of something so she grabbed his stuff and placed them in the fireplace, turned it on, and watched them burn.

"Man, that felt good," she said, sitting in her new apartment, waiting for Meredith to bring the last of the boxes from her car. Avril Lavigne played in the background, and Cristina was dancing around happily.

"Well look at you someone is very happy," Meredith said placing the last 3 boxes down.

"You have no idea how great it feels to sell that apartment," Cristina said. "Plus I found some of Burke's old shirts and wrote some things on them," Cristina smiled evilly.

"That sounds... healthy but wouldn't it be easier to donate them to Goodwill or something?" Meredith asked raising a brow.

"No I don't want to see some patient wearing some of Burke's ugly shirts and burning them was the most fun I've had other than surgery," She sighed.

"You burned them?" Meredith repeated a hint of a smile playing on her lips. "That's.. bold."

"Hey! You don't get to judge me, girl who dated a vet to make Derek jealous," Cristina said throwing a pillow at her.

"That was different!" she protested taking a chance to throw it back to her.

"Hey!" Izzie said entering the apartment with a batch of cupcakes. "I brought some cupcakes to start you off since I know that you're not going to go grocery shopping for another week."

"Thanks, I guess?" Cristina said slightly offended by Izzie's comment.

"Why don't the three of us go to Joe's later? You know a girl's night no Alex or George around. I heard there is a new cocktail menu!" Izzie said attempting to persuade the both of them.

Meredith raised her hand enthusiastically. "Count me in. It's been too long since we went out drinking."

"Fine with me," Cristina nodded with a subtle smile.

"So Cristina, spill what's the story with this bland apartment that Callie has yet to decorate."

Cristina smirked grabbing a cupcake from the plate Izzie brought, "It's nothing dramatic just needed a new place since Callie was always bitching about sleeping on the couch."

Meredith nodded in agreement, "And don't forget the burning of Burke's clothes."

Izzie's eyes widened with intrigue. "You burned his clothes? Seriously?"

Cristina leaned back, a nonchalant expression on her face. "Why are you both shocked? I don't want his shit in my new apartment."

"Classic Cristina move," Izzie laughed. "Why don't we head out it's almost 8," she added

"Sure lead the way stevens," Cristina said getting up and putting her shoes back on.

"So what are we supposed to do on this girl's night," Meredith asked Izzie as all 3 of them sat down at the bar.

"I was thinking we should have some drinks then we could go back to your place to bake and do each other's nails."

"Izzie what is this high school? You know what I'm going home," Cristina said, standing up.

"Fine you both can sit here and be miserable l'll go talk to the cute guy over there," Izzie squealed referring to Alex.

Meredith turned back to Cristina, "So, how would you feel about me setting you up on a date?"

"I would really hate that and you."

"Oh. come on. It's something that regular people do," Meredith exclaimed.

"We're not regular people Meredith."

"We could try to be."

"You and Derek knock yourselves out. Go on as many dates as you please. Just don't involve me. I'm good," Cristina said sipping her cocktail.

"People need a connection to stay healthy and positive connection with another human," Meredith explained.

"I don't... I don't need your pity positivity."

"Seriously?" Meredith asked.

"Seriously."

"Do you want to die alone?" Meredith asked.

"That was our plan until you met Mcdreamy so yes it's still my plan."

"Maybe... you need someone who you can't irritate," Meredith mused.

"Find that man for me and I'll marry him," Cristina said.

Meredith gasped," Marriage already? Didn't you just... I don't know... get left at the altar like not that long ago and you're considering marriage?"

Cristina rolled her eyes at that comment she made. Meredith sighed, "Just agree to this one, and then I'll leave you alone forever."

"Why are you forcing me to go on a date?" Cristina raised her voice slightly.

"Because you've been inside this little bubble ever since Burke left and I'm starting to get worried about you!"

"There's nothing to be worried about," Cristina assured her.

"Cristina."

"Meredith."

"Would you stop being so stubborn and let me help you, for god's sake?" Meredith asked exasperated ready to strangle her person.

Cristina looked at her. "You're really annoying, did you know that?"

Meredith put her drink down, a smile still on her lips. "I know so what do you say?"

Cristina got up from her stool and looked at Meredith, "No." she said heading towards the restrooms.

When she was done, Cristina felt her phone buzz and saw that it was a text from Meredith that she had been paged to the hospital. She looked around and saw that Izzie had also left, so she had no other option but to hail a cab. Unfortunately, with her luck, none were around tonight. Cristina thought maybe she could make her way home on foot, but she remembered Meredith insisted she wore heels. Not the best combination.

She sat down on a bench near the parking lot, her feet throbbing. She took out her phone to call Callie.

"Callie, I will kill you in your sleep if you don't pick up," she murmured as she dialed again, only to get Callie's voicemail once more.

Damn.
