A little girl lifted her head up when a shadow loomed over her. She and her mother looked up in time to see the silhouette of a figure, swinging on a long line through New York. The mysterious figure extended his hand, and another thin tendril discharged from their wrist and found purchase before maneuvering around the city. Though said figure was too far, the little girl squinted her eyes and saw a blur of red and blue covering their person.

"You know, Peter. My great, great grandmother, God rest her soul, had a strong belief of something that she took to heart; she believed that if anyone was given such a gift that they did with excellence and inspire people to do the same with said excellence, well, she believed that it wasn't just something you should do in the life of this world. But it is also something you should be responsible for doing."

A middle aged man sat on his office chair as he gazed irritably at his computer screen. His head perked up in alarm when he suddenly heard light thumps tapping on glass. He stood up from his office chair, twisted his torso, and turned his gaze toward the window. His eyes blinked in surprise as he and her coworkers saw a man, donning a red and blue costume running on the window before leaping around the other side. Disappearing behind the office building.

"Peter, anyone could have been given this power other than you; you just happen to be the one who got bit."

"But why?"

"…I don't know."

Two web lines found purchase on two buildings as they splat on the structure's hard surface. Said lines pulled back before going limp when released, followed by a red and blue blur that sped past them. Said blur slowed down as they soared over the city, their arms slightly raised and outstretched akin to the wings of an airplane.

When the blur became much clearer in the eye, so did their appearance. They donned a costume featuring a resplendent shade of blue, accentuated by red gloves, boots, mid-section, and mask. A web-like pattern gracefully adorned the crimson sections of the suit, originating from the mask. Additionally, a black spider insignia embellished the center of the chest, while a larger red spider emblem graced the back.

This web swinging vigilante was New York's friendly neighborhood hero, and his name was Spider-Man. But underneath the mask, his real name is Peter Parker

Spider-Man landed on a roof by crouching on all fours. He surveyed the city below him, watching an ocean of individuals milling about the busy sidewalks. Children played in the small parks nearby. Adults walked around with purposeful steps to get to their destinations, while cars and trucks drove along the road on their way to various destinations.

Spider-Man's head snapped to his right. The Peaceful day's tranquility shattered by the alarming sirens of law enforcement officials pursuing two black trucks, speeding down the road in a car chase. Spider-Man grinned under his mask, leapt off the roof and discharged a web-line.

The convertible swiftly traversed an intersection up ahead, closely pursued by the remaining police vehicle. The traffic light altered its signal and the cross-traffic commenced its movement. Spider-Man was now hurtling directly towards a substantial truck that had positioned itself directly in his trajectory.

Spider-Man knew It was utterly impossible for him to decelerate in time to evade the truck; he did not even attempt to do so. Instead, he contorted his body sideways, narrowly clearing the confined space between the truck and the cab that was transporting it. The truck driver twisted in his seat, gaping, as Spider-Man angled up and away.

One man leaned out of the window with their pistol in hand and began firing up at him. Not only was the gunman firing up at him, but the driver was likewise leaning out the window and shooting. Spider-Man skillfully evaded the incoming bullets, gracefully maneuvering through the air.

In a swift motion, he swooped down, launching web-balls with precision. One of these web-balls successfully disarmed the driver, causing the pistol to slip from his grasp. The other web-ball struck the gunman directly under his chin, momentarily stunning him. As a result, he found himself hanging weakly out of the window, his arms dangling helplessly while the gun clattered away.

Spider-Man gracefully landed on the trunk of the speeding car and extended his wrists. With remarkable precision, web-lines shot out, skillfully ensnaring the torsos of both men. The other ends of these webs were securely attached to a nearby lamppost. Due to the car's own momentum, it continued to roll forward, causing the web-lines to gradually stretch and then snap taut. Consequently, the driver and the gunman were effortlessly lifted up and out of the car, left suspended from the lamppost, their fate now in the hands of Spider-Man.

Spider-Man slithered in through the open window just as the convertible was beginning to slow. He didn't allow it the opportunity and brought his foot down on the gas, speeding it up. As he turned down a side street, he caught a glimpse of bewildered police behind him pulling to a stop. They were staring in wonderment at the sight of the criminals suspended in midair by gossamer-thin threads.

'But I do know one thing. Amazing things and endless possibilities are gonna happen in your life Peter, I'm sure of it. But with that, I also ask that on this road you walk on, you take with you the greatest of responsibility.'

The officer glanced down when something fell on his feet. He outstretched his arm, retrieving a folded piece of paper in his hand. When he unfolded it, he found a message written on the paper and began to internally read it.

'Okay, Peter Parker?'

DC'S AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

A/N: Hope you enjoyed this short trailer, my little shimmerings! What you all have read is not only a one shot but a taste of an upcoming written series titled, DC Universe: Spider-Man, a crossover between the Marvel Universe & the DC Universe. Now I know that possibly other authors have written stories with the same title before, and I have read one of them but was sad to see that they were left unfinished with no hope of an update. Now, Peter Parker/Spider-Man is born in the DC Universe and I planned to make this different from the one in canon that we know in the Marvel Universe.

But at the same time, keep him faithful to his Marvel counterpart; too much change in a character would just make them unrecognizable. That's all I have to say for now, so I'll be going now. I hope you all have a good day or night wherever you are.

Cya all later!
