Chapter 2: Trust:

Sonic's POV:

I have to be honest, something about Geoffrey doesn't feel right this moment.

"You mean 'e's still afraid ov 'he wa'er? I 'hough' 'e'd ge' over i' by now!"

"Nope," says Amy, "still won't learn to swim."

"You okay," asks Tails.

"It's just something doesn't feel right," I said.

"Sonic," says Sally, "you need to relax."

"Sal, Geoffrey seems too okay for someone who's separated from his wife," I said.

"You have nothing to worry about, Lucas," says Sally.

"What," I asked.

"I meant Sonic, of course," says Sally. She then kisses me and walks away.

"That was weird," says Tails.

"No kidding," I said.

The alarm then goes off.

"Wha''s 'ha' abou'," asks Geoffrey.

"Trouble," I said, "we better go!"

. . .

It's Great Battle Khukku! Funny thing is, Tails first dealt with him last Valentine's Day. That's also how he met Mina. Anyway, Geoffrey and I were facing him.

"Hey Khukku," I said.

"Sonic, while I would love to eliminate you," says Khukku, "I really want your sidekick! Where's Tails?"

"He's working on Mina's sounds systems," I said.

"I'm sure 'he fox won'' mind if we 'ake you down!"

Geoffrey then charges at Khukku, who then blasts him with this big laser.

"You haven't changed a bit," I said. I then did a spin dash and hit Khukku.

Khukku then gets back up and attempts to blast us both. Geoffrey's good at close-quartered combat. He also carries a mounted crossbow on his right wrist.

"None of you can defeat me," says Khukku.

Then Geoffrey makes a tornado and Khukku gets trapped in it. "Where did that come from," I asked. I then did a spin dash, and it takes Khukku down. "So, when did you get wind powers?"

"I guess you're no' 'he only one wi'h powers."

That just makes me more suspicious.

. . .

Sally and I are watching Geoffrey playing with the kids. "He's hiding something," I said.

"Maybe you just need to take your mind off this," says Sally.

"I guess," I said.

"I have an idea," says Sally, "let's get married!"

To Be Continued

In the next chapter, Sally starts acting strange.
