Hey everyone! Another upload of my crossover fic for Naruto and Dragon Ball Z! This one's got a fair deal of fighting, so I hope you all will enjoy that. There are also a few references to running jokes from both fandoms, so do enjoy those if you're able to spot them. That being said, enjoy the chapter! :)

The Saga Continues

Last time on Naruto Z! Lord Beerus and Whis touched down in Konoha, but the village guards were moving a little too slow, so Beerus and Whis gave them the cold shoulder. Pressing forward, they ran into Guy-sensei and Rock Lee! Both of them were training as usual, but Guy resolved to do the duty of any true Konoha ninja and make sure the new visitors weren't a threat. After sizing them up and talking them down, he decided to set aside their differences and give them what they wanted. Now they're headed to Ichiraku Ramen to satisfy their cravings. What happens next? Tune in and find out on...Naruto Z!

*.* Strangeness in Konoha .*.*

Beerus had visited many a place and scouted plenty a planet in his very long tenure as god of Destruction, yet even he had to admit that the sight of two men clad in green jogging in place everywhere they went was pretty high up on the scale called peculiar. Was it their personal life mission to jog everywhere? Or perhaps a habit used to build stamina due to their very mortal limitations? Either way, it was getting to a point where it was mildly irritating and he strangely found himself seeking sound instead of quiet.

"You've fallen awfully quiet for one who talked so much before," he said to Guy, eyes mild and focusing into thin yellow slits as he glanced towards the jogging man.

"No need to worry yourself my cat friend!" he said with vigor. "I'm just thinking about which training regimen me and Lee will be working on next. You're more than welcome to join. No offense, but you look like you could beef up a little."

"Guy-sensei!" Lee whisper-screeched. "Don't be rude."

"I'm not being rude, Lee. Everyone can do with putting on a pound or two of muscle, eh heh heh, even your old sensei here."

"Hm," Beerus grinned. "Maybe I'll take you up on your offer. I am curious to see what kind of training you do. You seem very dedicated, perhaps even more than an idiot I know where I'm from."

"Sounds like a smart idiot to me," Might Guy said.

"When it comes to fighting, he's a genius. He's always on my planet, sparring this or punching that."

"Your...planet?" Lee asked, round eyes wide with wonder.

"Yes, my planet. If you ever visit our dimension, I'll be sure to show you around. It's a modest estate, but so very comfy. Isn't that right, Whis?"

"Mhm," Whis said lightly.

Might Guy and Rock Lee fell oddly silent, their eyes on the strange cat-man as they jogged all the same.

"Well," Might Guy finally said, turning away. "I'm not sure I quite understand what you're talking about, but Ichiraku's is only a few steps away, so ONWARD!"

"Right!" Lee agreed. Eyes widening a bit, he added, "And look, one of Konoha's elite is sitting at the booth."

"Ah, I see you're right, Lee," Guy agreed. "It seems we've come at just the right time."

"Sakura-san!" Lee said, waving as he ran ahead.

As the much too energetic Lee ran ahead, faint echoes of spring flowers and other odd things on his lips, Beerus pondered the already strange nature of the place he found himself in. First, a strange duo with green tights and now a girl with pink hair.

"What a peculiar hair color," he commented. "Reminds me of that black guy Goku and Vegeta clobbered a while back."

"Ah, yes," Whis said. "His Super Saiyan Rose was quite the show."

"Didn't stop them from putting him down for the count," Beerus mused.

"Her hair seems to naturally be that color though," Whis said. "Not the result of a transformation."

"Oh, of course," Beerus answered. "I can sense no divine energy. She's most certainly not black."

Finally reaching where Lee had run over to, the spirited conversation started to register. The girl's voice was fairly light and seemed a perfect match for her appearance.

"...Yeah, he's been pretty late recently. I think he's getting it from Kakashi-sensei."

"Hahaha," Guy laughed. "Seems like some things about my old pal just never change."

Her head tilting a bit at the sight of the strange visitors, she leaned forward a bit and asked, "Who's the company?"

"This is, uh...Whis," Lee said, recalling the name from former conversation. "And this is, uh…"

"Lord Beerus!" Beerus said proudly. "God of Destruction."

"God of what now?!" Might Guy exclaimed.

"Oh, don't worry," Beerus said. "I only destroy at my discretion, and food is a great way of pacifying my anger."

Smirking only the slightest, Whis spoke with calmness. "If you all don't mind, let's please continue this conversation over some lunch. We are indeed hungry."

The awkward stares only remaining for a moment longer, Guy answered, "Yeah, let's do that..."

...

"WOW!" Might Guy said. "Visitors from another universe coming to search out our power! Hear that, Lee?! We're famous!" he exclaimed, one open palm swinging out in front of him in a sweeping motion. "Universe wide! It's the power of Youth, I tell you!"

"Of course, Guy-sensei!" Rock lee returned. "Our rampant training and strict workout regimen..."

As Rock Lee trailed off on some monologue Beerus was much too impatient to listen to, he mumbled, "Multiverse is the proper term, but semantics. And, to be honest, compared to the fighters from our universe, you all are pretty pathetic..."

Guy and Lee seemed too enamored with the prospect of their universe renown to hear; Sakura's eyes, however, narrowed in a squint. "If we're so pathetic, why come here looking for a challenge?"

"Ah, great question," Beerus said. "One more fitting for my buddy, Whis. He's the one who seems to think you all have some latent potential worth investigating, so I just took him at his word and tagged along."

Sakura's eyes shifted to Whis, and his were very visibly closed.

"Mmmmm!" he moaned. "This ramen bowl is simply delicious!" Looking up to Teuchi, he finished, "You must let me have the recipe."

"Sorry," Teuchi said. "No can do. Family secret."

"Mmm," he groaned lowly.

"Excuse me," Sakura said.

"Hm?" Whis said, turning to her.

"From what your cat friend here says-"

"Please," he interrupted. "Call me Beerus."

Turning back to Whis, she continued. "From what Beerus here is saying, it sounds like we're not all that compared to people where you all are from, right? So why come here looking to fight us?"

"Hm," Whis said, one finger dabbing his cheek. "It is indeed a good question, but it's one I'd rather let fully play itself out on the battlefield."

"What do you mean?" Sakura asked.

"Well," he said, an eye-closed smile adorning his face. "Let's just say that power isn't everything."

"Well, it may not be everything, but it's sure enough more than something," Beerus interjected. "Anyway, I've downed four ramen bowls already and though they've been delicious, I do hope for more culinary variety."

"Yes, yes," Whis said. "I agree, my lord."

As their casual dialogue continued, Sakura couldn't help her silent stare, a large part of her simply lost in wondering to herself about just who these guys were. One claimed to be some kind of god, and the other was supposedly an angel? At worst they dressed like clowns, at best, a little better than Lee and Guy-sensei, yet she was supposed to believe that they were Kaguya level threats? Guess it just went to show how the truth of ninja principles never changed. Even the most unlikely of people could be major problems.

"You're still skeptical," Beerus said, breaking into her inner monologue. Shaking her head a bit, she raised her hands and pumped the air defensively. "No, it's not that. It's just..."

"Then, our first challenge!" he interrupted loudly, swiping the empty bowls off the table with a crash and jumping onto his feet. "Will be me sparring with one of you right here and now to prove my power! Then you'll know I was telling the truth," he finished, hands on his hips, a smug grin in place as he stood with eyes closed.

"A...fight?" Lee asked.

"Yes," Beerus said. "That's correct."

"I do not think that to be the best course of action," Whis said.

Squinting to the side, Beerus asked, "And why not?"

"Well, for one, it would cause an obvious disturbance to the market setting. Secondly, the purpose of our coming here was less focused on individual combat and more on team effort among other things. A one-on-one fight kind of misses the point. Besides, only one of the fighters I wanted you to spar against is here."

"Oh," Beerus said, glancing over to Might Guy. "Seems all that jogging in place wasn't for nothing, huh?"

"Eheh!" Might Guy laughed, one finger rubbing under his nose as he stood with his chest just that bit more puffed out. "I'm not all that surprised. I do work very hard to keep-"

"The fighter I'm speaking of is the girl."

"WHAT?!" Beerus exclaimed. "You made me cross dimensions and risk ridicule by my brother to fight a giiiiirl?!"

"Correction," Whis said. "I made you cross dimensions and risk ridicule by your brother to fight a four-member team of which this girl is a part."

"...Oh. Well, I guess that makes it a little better."

"I'm still here," Sakura said, her tone uneven as a vein ticked on her forehead.

"So are we," Might Guy and Lee whimpered, huge trails of tears already cascading down their cheeks.

"Oh," Whis said, smiling lightly. "Sorry about that." Looking to Sakura, he added, "But at least you're part of the team we came for."

"So that's why you have come!" Lee boomed. "To fight the famed Team 7!"

"Apparently," Beerus drawled.

"Well," Guy began. "While I respect your ambition..." He pointed to himself using his thumb. "How about you try to get past me first?!"

"You?" Beerus grinned, eyeing him sideways.

"That's right, Beerus. And I'll throw in my protegé Lee as well. I don't care what you're the god of, a konoha ninja backs down to nobody! And in case Whis here is still worried about the market, we have designated training grounds we can head to right now!"

"Hm," Beerus said, turning sideways slightly. "Your confidence is either surprisingly well-placed or arrogantly stupid. I lean towards the latter, but very well. A small warm-up before I fight this famed team Whis speaks of."

"Great!" Might Guy yelled, one fist jetting into the air. Now we'll see what you're really made of, cat-man… "Lee," he continued. "Lead the way!"

"Yes, Guy-sensei!" Turning to everyone else, he boomed with a curled arm motioning towards where he was going, "Follow me!" another jog starting that very instant.

"Alright," Beerus said, tail wagging ever so slightly. "Let's go, Whis."

With a wide, eye-closed smile, he leaned towards Teuchi. "I'll have one of those desserts to go please."

...

As Sakura stood on the side of the training ground with Whis by her side, she could feel something she hadn't felt in quite a long time brewing beneath the surface – focus. The war had been a few years ago, with most of them now pushing their late teens and early twenties, and to put things simply, not much had come around between then and now to really pose much of a challenge, especially to someone of her caliber. Most of her mental exertion occurred at the hospital, where she had to perform surgeries or fix chakra systems or the like. To focus on observing a fight and thinking of returning to such high-level combat herself was a jolt to her senses. She couldn't deny it being a much welcome one though. She hadn't gotten action like this in years. A genuine smile grew on her lips at the prospect of fighting alongside Naruto, Sasuke and Kakashi again. Just like old times...

"I assume you've tried their Ice Cream Sundae," Whis said, breaking into her thoughts, his silver spoon digging around in the glass bowl.

Sakura could feel the sweatdrop beading on her temple. "I actually haven't..."

"Mmm," he groaned. "Simply delicious! Even better than the ones from our dimension. If you want, I'll give you a taste."

"Whis!" came the angry voice of Beerus from the training ground some distance away.

"Hm?"

"Stop stuffing your face and watch me fight!"

"Oh, right, of course!" he rushed, the ice cream bowl promptly hidden behind his back. "Apologies, my lord."

"Mmm," Beerus groaned, a tiny sweatdrop beading on his temple.

"Don't focus on him!" Guy yelled proudly from across the field.

"We are your opponents now!" Lee finished, a confident smirk resting on his lips.

"Ah, yes," Beerus grinned. "I suppose you are. Very well, let's see what you've got."

"Alright!" Lee said. "Let's show him Guy-sensei."

"Oh!" Beerus interjected. "Before we begin, I don't suppose you all have a power-up of any kind?"

"A...power-up?" Lee asked.

"Yes," Beerus continued. "A power-up. Or simply put, a way of drastically increasing your strength and power, because I guarantee that as you are you stand no chance."

Sakura squinted where she was. No chance? There was that overbearing confidence again...

"No chance, huh?" Guy said. "Seems you've got a pretty high opinion of yourself."

"Perhaps it's merited."

"Alright then," Guy grinned. "Just remember that you asked for it. Let's give him a taste of what he came for, Lee! And I think we'll be going up to the Third Gate to start things off!"

"Yes, Guy sensei!"

The air all around fell quiet as a breeze, then, with a mild swirling, the tempest started to rise. "Alright!" Might Guy yelled. "Let's do it, Lee!"

"Got it!"

"Third Gate of Life!" they both cried, "Open!"

Without delay, the side of the training ground they were on exploded in an eruption of green energy, both of their bodies surrounded in waves of green and swirls of blue; Beerus only shifted in the slightest, his mouth closed grin remaining much the same as he eyed them from the side.

"Ah," he said. "Interesting, I can indeed sense an impressive boost to your power, though it's not like the ki I'm used to. Still, I heard you call this the Third Gate of Life. For your sake, I hope you have fifty more."

Sakura's eyes could've tumbled from her head. Fifty?! There was no way... He was basically calling them ants right now.

"Mmm," Whis groaned. Sakura thought he disapproved of the pointed comment until he continued, "This sundae is simply delicious." Glancing towards where they had come from, he muttered, "Perhaps I'll grab another."

"Heh, heh, heh," Guy laughed, eyes white as the wild energy rushed all around. "So we're not anywhere near your level, huh?"

"Not in the slightest," Beerus grinned.

"Weeeeell," he grinned. "Let's test that! Come on, Lee!"

"Right!"

Guy's grin turned serious as he eyed the cat-god from across the field, then he whispered, "Alright, let's see if he can back up all that overflowing bravado..."

With an explosion that sent a flurry of rocks and dirt flying upwards in the opposite direction, the both of them darted towards Beerus, a battle cry full of passion and what Sakura assumed was the fires of youth flying from their lips, trails of blue and green streaking across the air they had so quickly soared through.

"HYAAA!" Lee screamed, one fist cocked back to throw a punch straight into Beerus' face. Sakura watched the scene with such focus that one may think she had a Sharingan, and, at first, it seemed to her that the blow may connect, but then, with the subtlest of grins, Beerus' head moved slightly aside, Rock Lee's hand cutting through nothing but air. Rock Lee's eyes widened at the suaveness with which he dodged the blow, briefly stunned for a moment at how he had moved. His reaction speed is extraordinary!

Recollecting himself, Lee groaned lightly. Then I will try another tactic! Recovering by pulling his hand back in a fist, he faked a left jab only to send a sneaky right hook.

Sakura watched the green of his arm sleeve blur as he sent the punch flying, yet Beerus' slight smirk never left his lips and the punch never came close to hitting. Unreal...

But then, in a familiar flicker, Might Guy appeared behind him, face in a deep scowl as he sent a sweeping kick right for Beerus' legs. His smile widening a bit, Beerus hopped up with no effort at all, then, grinning a bit more, sent a mild kick into Might Guy's stomach, a pained grunt leaving his lips as he stumbled back way more than any normal kick should ever send a man. Despite it all, Beerus still floated in the air with no sense of being off balance, one leg extended out in Might Guy's direction, the other angled like a frog. The seamlessness of his transitions between moves made it look like he was dancing more than anything.

"The heck?" Sakura mumbled.

While he was midair, a screaming Rock Lee cocked back a fist, the green blur covered in a rush of green chakra. "Dodge thiiiiis!" he screamed.

"Mhm," Beerus chuckled lowly. The fist had only darted out halfway when Beerus' tail wrapped the offending limb at the wrist. Despite the constant scowl the eight gates left his face in, Sakura could see the shock in his wide white eyes. Beerus' grin widened only the slightest, then, with another dance-like acrobatic spin, he landed smoothly and gave his tail a hard tug, violently flinging Lee towards Might Guy.

"Wah!" he cried as the circular spin took hold.

Might Guy was already in a run, headed towards the both of them in a mad dash, but his eyes went wide as a spiraling Lee soared towards him. Grunting as he assessed the situation, he fell into a slide, letting Lee fly overhead as he popped up only inches from Beerus and threw an uppercut. Sorry, Lee, but I've got a mission!

"Oh..." Beerus said, dodging the first of the blows with a subtle lean backwards.

"HYAH! HYAH! HYAH! HYAH! HYAH!" cried an aggressive Might Guy, punches and kicks sent at an alarmingly quick rate, yet Beerus dodged them all, and with alarming ease. Amidst the chaos, Sakura sat silent with her mouth slightly agape. It didn't even look like he was trying, and he was wiping the floor with them. What the heck was this guy? Before she could even ponder the answer to her question, she could feel her eyes widening, and her senses kicking into overdrive. Something was happening in the fight, and whatever it was was causing a noticeable shift in the very air around them. It was like amidst the breeze and swirling gusts of wind, there invaded this strange power, like a pressuring energy was on the horizon but not yet manifest. Like a power...destructive, and an energy dangerous.

Squinting hard so she wouldn't miss even the slightest of details, she watched as Beerus blocked a heavy kick aimed for his left temple with naught but his open right palm, then in one smooth motion, switched the palm into a fist. When it went careening into Guy's chest, she did not perceive, all she heard was the explosion of energy and all she saw was the massive burst of air all around.

Guy hung in the air apparently immobilized for a fraction of a second, then came a sound like a pocket of air exploding, and he shot back across the field at a speed that rivaled the lightning on Sasuke's chidori, a white streak following him through the air as he did. Sakura stood where she was, eyes bulging, form unmoving. There was no way. There was just no way...

"Guy-sensei!" Lee cried, rushing over to the sizable crater Guy was lying in. As he rose to his feet with a grunt, Sakura saw through the clouds of dust that his third gate form was now gone, his eyes normal and his hair back to platted black. In addition, she could see he was majorly winded, each breath seeming to him a massive ordeal.

"Guy-sensei," Lee said. "Are you alright?"

"Heh," Guy chuckled raspily, clouds of gray dust floating all around his form. "Seems he wasn't...all talk...after all, Lee."

Lee looked over at the grinning cat god and answered silently, "No, it appears not."

Beerus' grin widened so that all his teeth were on full display. "I told you that your current level was far too weak to properly compete with me, yet you tried it anyway. Perhaps now you'll use a form that gives me more of a challenge. I very kindly held back my true power so as to give you a chance to keep fighting, but if you insist on playing games, I'll end this fight right here and now."

"Urgh," Guy said weakly. "Alright, Lee. It seems we've gotta go all out for our cat friend to even consider us half a challenge. You up for a little pain and gain?"

"Always, Guy-sensei!"

"Alright," Guy said. "Then if that's the case…" He looked up at Beerus through a leer, reaching down to his calf and pulling a yellow latch undone. "Let's start with this."

"Right!" Lee said, reaching down and doing the same.

"The weights," Sakura said silently.

"Hm?" Whis said.

"Rock Lee and Guy-sensei train with weights on most of the time. Seems they're finally taking them off."

Whis stared at them for a moment then very simply said, "Oh," and dug into his sundae a bit more.

Sakura eyed him suspiciously for a moment then turned her attention back to the fight.

Guy and Lee now held the weights a few feet above the ground, a sort of confident smirk on Guy's lips, a more serious stare on Lee's. Dropping them in unison, the resounding crash was an ear-splitting thud and sent four explosions of tan colored dust bursting straight up into the air.

"Oh..." Beerus said lightly.

"Eheheh," Guy laughed, "And that was only the first step."

"Well, then," Beerus said, extending an open hand towards the both of them. "By all means."

"Heh," Guy chuckled. "You may regret that."

"Mhm..."

Inhaling deeply and shutting his eyes, Guy fell silent, but the stillness only remained for a moment. Like a strike of lightning much unexpected came a burst of wild chakra, the ground all around him and Lee starting to shake as their chakra levels spiked higher and higher. Sakura's gaze narrowed. That must be...

"Sixth Gate of View!" they both cried. "OPEN!"

The ground all around them exploded upwards as the energy rushed in every direction, their eyes white, their faces red, the plastered anger on full display.

"Heh, heh," Guy laughed. "To be honest with you, there are two more gates after this one, but we save those for life and death situations."

"Hm," Beerus said. "Interesting. So this is a taste of where the limits of your power lies. It's a long way from fifty, but a considerable power-up, I do admit."

"Heh, heh," Guy said lowly. "Think you can keep up now?"

Beerus shrugged lightly and sighed. "Well, just do your best."

"Hmph!" Guy said, shifting a bit towards Lee as the wild energy swirled all around. "I think he's mocking us, Lee."

"I agree!" Lee answered.

"Well, then. Let's show him..." His eyes narrowed to a squint as he squatted low, arms flailing out to the side as he fell into his radically formed taijutsu stance. "That we're no joke!"

"Agreed!" Lee said. "Go! Primary Lotuuuuus!"

The sharp whistle of splitting air was the first indication of Lee's newfound speed. Appearing before Beerus in a flicker of wind, he faked a right punch only to appear on the ground, both hands holding him up as he sent a kick flying towards Beerus' face.

Beerus' grin never wavered and, with a simple backflip, he evaded the kick entirely, Rock Lee's leg pointing straight up in the air, yet halfway through the flip, Might Guy appeared at Beerus' side, wrapping him in a body hold from behind. "Gotcha!"

"Hm," he chuckled, eyeing him from the side right before somehow slithering from his grasp like an overgrown noodle. Sakura watched with rapt attention, eyes focusing more on Beerus than anything. There was something about the way he moved... It was just...surreal. It was only when a flash of orange ignited on the field that she let her eyes dart back to Guy and Rock Lee. The both of them rushed Beerus with a flurry of attacks from every direction, the scuffle appearing a flurry of green and purple blurs. Beerus somehow dodged them all, his head twisting every which way to avoid a punch, his body somehow contorting to avoid that kick, his reflexes somehow fast enough to perceive that trick. Finally, he popped up into an energetic squat, both legs now curled like a frog. At the same time, Lee and Guy threw twin punches forward, one with the left and one with the right. Deftly landing a foot on each hand, Beerus used them as a springboard to launch himself high into the air, that same cocky smirk still on his lips, yet from below she heard Rock Lee shout a cry.

"Now's our chance!"

"Right!" Guy answered.

With a whoosh of wind, Lee appeared in an instant a short distance behind Beerus. The purple head and yellow eye only slightly turned to eye him.

"Take this!" he screamed, cocking back one hand and throwing a punch that burst into a flurry of flames. "HYAH! HYAH! HYAH! HYAH! HYAH!" he screamed, the multiple flame set punches fanning out all around to create a flurry of fiery blows.

"That's the morning peacock attack," Sakura said, eyes set to see how it would all go down.

"Oh," Beerus said as the flames started to cascade, yet while he looked at the flurry of fireballs all around, a poised Might Guy appeared on the side he had turned away from.

"Gotcha," Guy grinned.

Without looking behind himself, Beerus answered, "Do you really?" And before the punch connected, Might Guy could feel the tail wrapping his throat. "Gr!" he groaned. "You noticed!"

Using his tail to quickly spin him around to the front of his face, he said, "Of course I did,

"Gr!" Guy groaned.

"Have fun," Beerus smiled, flinging him towards the flurry of flames so quickly bearing down.

"Guy-sensei!" Lee screamed. "Ah!" he groaned as the flurry of punches came to an end, the air whooshing as he disappeared from where he was to catch Guy before he hit a blaze.

Reappearing on the ground with Guy on his shoulder, Lee watched him from the side. "Are you alright, sensei?"

"Tch," he groaned, one arm resting on Lee's shoulder as he struggled to stand. "Nothing a little training won't fix."

"I think you'll need something more than training," came Beerus' suave voice from a distance away. The two looked up to him and saw his purple form standing tall and proud amidst the chaos, the training grounds to his left set ablaze by high-reaching flames set off by the flurry of fireballs that had recently missed. Like an imposing figure sitting in the distance, Beerus stood strong, the purple skin and gold apparel dancing in the heat of the flames.

"Tch," Guy said again, this time trying to get up only to feel his body respond with a harsh pain that made him bend over and groan.

Lee frowned at the sight. "I am feeling it too, sensei."

"Yeah..."

"Congratulations," Beerus said plainly. "Despite the failure of your most recent attack, even I must admit that your martial arts prowess is indeed something. For mere mortals you are quite advanced in learning and you both have an instinct for martial arts that I assume has been honed by your constant training."

"Yeah," Guy said between huffs, the grimace on his face deepening as the blue and green swirls whisked around. "Something like that."

"Mmm," Beerus said lowly, the yellow eyes keen and on them despite the distance. "And I think I'm starting to see the truth behind this little technique of yours as well."

"Is that a fact?" Lee said.

"Yes, I believe it is," Beerus answered. "This technique grants you a tremendous boost in power at the cost of your body."

"Tch," Lee said as Guy grunted a bit. "It is the trade-off for such a powerful technique."

"I can imagine," Beerus said. "With fighters from your world, you'd probably have won the fight by now, meaning this drawback wouldn't be much of a problem for you."

"Heh," Guy groaned. "You're very perceptive."

"Perhaps. Either way, it's not too hard to spot. Especially since where I'm from there's also a fighter who uses a technique quite similar to this one."

"Oh, really?" Guy said.

"Oh, yes. In fact, it's the same idiot I mentioned from earlier. He has a bit of a better handle on it though, seeing as it doesn't totally wreck his body. He calls his version of this technique Kaioken."

"Kaioken, huh?" Lee growled. "Well, here we call it the eight gates, and its power isn't to be taken lightly, even by one who claims to be as powerful as you."

"Oh," Beerus said. "Is that so?"

"Yeah," Guy groaned. "Lee's right. This technique is feared in all of the lands that make up the elemental nations, and our world knows it to be one of the strongest ninja techniques known to man."

"Heh, heh, heh," Beerus chuckled. "Then perhaps it's time I showed you that I'm not from your world, and most certainly..." The rows of sharp teeth came into view as his grin stretched wide. "Not a man."

Lee spun around on instinct, white eyes nearly bulging from his head as Beerus stood only inches away, his face leaning forward so that it was mere inches from Lee's as he turned around. Settling his middle finger against his thumb and raising his hand to Lee's forehead, he grinned and gave one forceful flick.

The THOOM that resounded all around made Sakura's heart drop to her stomach, and the sight of the ground on the other side of the field exploding into a crater of smoke and soot while never seeing Lee fly across the field gave her the worst of chills.

"Lee!" Guy cried, rushing over to the crater and peering down into the hole. After standing in stunned silence for a spell, he closed his mouth and looked to Beerus with a growl. "You're going to pay for that!"

"Mhm," Beerus chuckled lowly.

"HYAHHHHHH!" Guy cried, soaring upwards through the air in a straight line, then turning at a jagged angle and heading straight for Beerus. "RAHHHHH!"

The trail of whirling green energy drew nearer, and Sakura watched as Beerus stood with that same confident smile on his lips. "Guy's already lost," she mumbled silently.

"A very astute observation," Whis said. Turning to him, she was surprised to see another ice cream sundae in his hand, one much larger than the first. Her eyes widening, she asked, "When did you?"

"You are about to miss the finale," he interrupted.

Her eyes snapping back to the fight, her eyes tracked Guy just in time to see him reach the front of Beerus and throw a powered kick towards his core. Beerus reacted with an arm to block it, only for Guy to switch the kick to a kick to the head mid-kick.

"Oh," Beerus grinned, smiling as he ducked under it with all the suaveness a cat could muster. "A valiant effort, but this fight is over." Somehow disappearing all at once and reappearing on Guy's left back side, the cat god wore a triumphant smirk and landed a single chop on the back of his neck.

"Ugh," Guy said, struggling for only a moment as the blow froze him in place. Then came the whooshing sound of the transformation dissipating to nothing and a black-haired Guy collapsing to the ground, small puffs of dust wrapping him as he lay unconscious. Beerus then wrapped both arms around his back and held his head high, ears proudly pointing towards the sky, an unknown tune whistling on his lips as he walked away.

Sakura stood where she was with a slight squint in her eye, only one thought consuming her mind. What in the world had she just witnessed?

"To answer your question," Whis said. "I grabbed this when your friend Lee was flicked unconscious. The span of time his sensei took to check on him was more than enough for me to make the trip."

Sakura turned to Whis with eyes nearly bulging. This guy had not only crossed the village without her noticing, he had crossed it and came back in no time flat!

"Whis," came the voice of Beerus as he walked over.

"Yes, my lord."

"Hey!" he suddenly barked. "Is that another ice cream sundae bigger than the one from before?!"

"Hm?" Whis said, eyes poshly closed as he swiveled it to hide it behind his back. "But of course not, my lord."

"You were supposed to be watching me fight!"

"But I was, my lord. I grabbed this during one of the breaks. Your ability to-"

"And why didn't you get me one while you were over there?!"

"Ohohohohohohohooo..."

As their conversation trailed off into an argument that sounded fairly familiar, Sakura tried to make sense of what she had just seen and heard. How was it even possible that someone could be that strong? And how was it possible for someone to be that fast? To flick so hard that she didn't even see Lee fly across the field? Absolutely crazy. There was just no way...but somehow, it was.

"Sakura-chan?"

Her musing ending, she looked behind herself, eyes quickly landing on the familiar friend, the blond locks messy as his fingers intertwined behind his head and pushed them in odd angles on the sides.

"Naruto," she greeted.

"What's going on?" he continued. "I sensed some pretty big stuff going down a few seconds ago and rushed over."

"Ah," Whis said before she could respond. "You are the one called Naruto. Excellent! Now we only need Sasuke and Kakashi."

"Who's this guy supposed to be?" Naruto said, hands on his hips, body leaning towards him, eyes squinted in that odd way where they appeared fully closed.

Placing a hand on Naruto's chest, and pushing him out of Whis' space, Sakura answered, "Apparently, an angel from another dimension that came here to test our skills." Glancing towards Beerus, she finished, "And his friend here claims to be a god."

"Hm," Beerus mused, eyeing Naruto with a straight-faced squint. "So I assume you're a part of this special team I'm here to fight too, huh?"

"An angel and a god?" Naruto questioned, eyes now open and on Whis as his mouth sat in a pensive tuck. Whis stood with an eye-closed smile in response. Glancing towards Beerus and then back to Whis, he answered, "Hmmm, he's no angel. He doesn't have wings! And what type of god is purple?!"

Sakura could almost hear the gong sounding in the background as she deflated with her face towards the ground. Why'd he always have to be like this?...

"Heyyy," he whined. "Why're you looking like that, Sakura-chan? You usually do that when I say something stupid, right? I didn't say anything stupid this time though! He doesn't have wings!"

Sighing, she lifted her gaze. "Well, wings or not, he's no joke, and Beerus isn't either."

"Beerus?"

"Yeah, that's the cat-god's name."

"Ohhh."

"Hey!" a loud voice rang from across the field. Naruto and Sakura turned towards the screaming man and noticed it was one of the guards from the village gate. They had passed him going out on enough missions to notice him anywhere. For some reason he was running towards them like a madman with two other village guards flanking him on both sides.

"What are they doing here?" Naruto mused.

"Stop right there!" the first guard screamed. He was wearing standard Konoha shinobi gear with his forehead protector holding back his brown bangs.

"You there with the purple skin!" the other guard running alongside him said.

"And you there with the light blue!" the third member of the trio finished.

Arriving a few feet from where they were, they all three pointed in unison and said, "You're under arrest!"

At the statement, Sakura could feel the sweatdrop forming on her temple. As if. Trying to arrest these guys was about as dumb as trying to put Sasuke under a genjutsu. She was one to know. She had just witnessed...whatever that fight was, and there was no doubt in her mind that they were simply on another level, one she'd had never seen before. It was a little scary if she was honest. To think that there were people this strong out there, that put their best shinobi to shame, and without so much as breaking a sweat. Absolute insanity. As Whis started giving a pacifying speech in the background, she heard the scratchy voice of Naruto breaking into her thoughts.

"Is something wrong?" he asked mildly, those wide blue eyes of his fixing her in a light stare.

"Oh," she said softly, shaking her head as she watched the scene playing out before them. "You have no idea."

As he turned away to properly size up their visitors, she could sense the questions starting to tumble around in his head. She had told him up front that they were bad news, but it seemed he was starting to figure it out for himself now. His senses as a ninja were sharp as ever and even he couldn't ignore the fact that Guy and Lee had apparently just been clobbered with uncanny swiftness. Heck, they were still lying on the ground unconscious!

"Hey, Sakura-chan?" he finally said.

"Yeah."

"What'd you say their names were again?"

Sakura scoffed lightly, arms crossing all their own. "Beerus and Whis."

"Huh... Guess they probably fight better than they dress, right?"

"I have a feeling you'll have your answer soon," she scoffed. "Trust me, there's much more to that smug grinning cat man and light blue angel than meets the eye...much more."

-l-l-l-

At first they doubted, but now they know – the cat-god Beerus and his angel friend Whis are not to be trifled with. With power levels that would make the bravest and most powerful of shinobi tremble, Beerus and Whis stand more than a cut above the rest. But one fight with Might Guy and Rock Lee isn't what they came for, and with Naruto entering the picture, the true fight draws near. But where is Sasuke Uchiha? And can he even be found with his wandering ways? But first there's the trouble from the village gate. The formerly frozen trio isn't happy and they're on a mission to make the visitors payyy. Will anyone be able to talk them down and help them see reason, or will there be another altercation worse than before? Find out next time on...Naruto Z!

Author's Note:

Ah, another chapter down. :) Quite pleased with how this turned out. It's over 6,000 words, so quite heavy, but I don't think it reads that way. PLEASE LEAVE A REVIEW IF YOU ENJOYED. I worked pretty hard to get this chapter done right and would appreciate hearing from you all and knowing what you all liked and whatnot. I personally liked the fight scene most of all, especially that part where Beerus is standing with the flames on one side in the background. Loved that visual. Anyway, my ramblings are over, hope to see y'all in a review, then the next chapter. :) Peace!
