It was dark outside, in the village of Konoha and people were heading home from a long day of work or play. For one male, known as Hatake Kakashi, his day had only began. He had just come back from a vacation and was paying his respects at the memorial grounds. Although he soon turned his head towards a voice that he knew all too well. A smile formed underneath his mask and he turned to face a certain blonde haired male. A former student of his and one who was now the current hokage for the village.
"Yo, Naruto, what are you doing out here?" Kakashi asked as he was now facing him with his hands tucked deep into his pockets. The smile being faint now, but still there and could be noticed by those that knew him well enough. Of course Naruto explained that he had been out for a late night walk, before he would return home to his kids and wife. Kakashi gave him a simple nod before looking to him, deciding on what to say. "Well if you have a little free time in the morning, perhaps I could treat you to some ramen and we can catch up on things." Kakashi suggested and was quickly given an answer, by hearing Naruto exclaim on how wonderful it would be.
They decided that they would meet up, first thing in the morning and catch up on the things that had happened while the former copy ninja was away on vacation. Once that had been decided, Kakashi decided to head home for the night and Naruto did the same. They both said their good nights and then went their separate ways. Although things weren't going to go as planned, as they would soon find out. There was someone sneaking around the village and seemed to be following the current hokage.
Kakashi was unaware of this and headed home for the night, planning to see Naruto the following morning. The night went on and Naruto never made it home, but that was unknown until the next morning, when Kakashi was confronted by Sakura, who seemed to be panicked for some reason. She explained that Hinata hadn't seen Naruto at all that previous night or even that morning and in fact, no one had seen him, not even Shikamaru. This brought great concern to him and he lifted his hand towards his chin as he began to think. He knew that he had seen him the night before and now suddenly he was missing? This could only mean one thing, someone had taken him away.
They would need to form a team and find him, but he wasn't sure who to send, as he was now suddenly being thrown back in charge, during Naruto's absence. He soon decided to summon his eight ninja hounds and have one send word to Tsunade and the others to try and sniff out any sign of Naruto. Things needed to be done and they needed to be done quickly. Kakashi needed to form a tea and have them go after Naruto, without wasting anytime. Although he wasn't sure who to send or how many, not knowing what they might be facing, made things a little harder.
As he stood there lost in deep thought, a kind and yet serious voice snapped him from his thoughts. It was the fifth hokage, standing there with her arms crossed and a worried expression on her face. He soon heard her suggest that he should go on this mission and of course he should still pick a team. Although he was a bit surprised by her words, he only gave her a mere nod with his head and started to think once more. He only had two people in his mind so far, but he had a feeling that more might be needed.
No sooner was that thought in his head, he heard the door slam against the wall from being flung open. He turned his head in order to face the now opened door and his eyes widened slightly. However he half expected at least one of Naruto's kids to be there, but it wasn't either one of them. Instead it was wife, Hinata. Asking if there was a team being formed to find her husband. The fear for her husband was quite obvious on her face. This did take him back slightly, but he soon regained his normal expression, before speaking in a serious tone towards her.
"Yes he was taken, but we are forming a team as we speak to find him and return him home once more. I promise that we will find Naruto, Hinata. We won't rest until he is back home." He said as he placed a hand to his chin and thought for a moment, before speaking up once more. "Please do not fear. Besides, Naruto is strong and I almost pity the one that decided to take him. He will be alright." He added to give her some kind of peace of mind. They both knew that Naruto wouldn't have gone down without one hell of a fight. So whoever took him had to be powerful or somehow catch him completely off guard.
Once he got a soft nod from Hinata and he watched her leave. He thought for another moment, before turning to Tsunade and then speaking yet again. "Would you do me a favor and get Sakura Haruno, then her meet me by the main gate of the village. I need to do something myself and then we will be heading out." With those words and a firm nod from Tsunade, he was about to leave but then thought of something and turned his attention back towards Tsunade. "I wish to deeply thank you for allowing me to lead this team and we will not fail! As I stated before. We will save Naruto. After all, it's the least that anyone of this village could do for him, since everything that he has done for us all."
Without another thought, he moved from the office and headed to his small home. Where he was quick to change into his Jounin attire and grab all the gear that he needed, before heading out the door. There were many thoughts running through the former copy ninjas mind, but he needed to stay focused for this mission was far too important to him, to allow other distractions to get to him. Before he left his home completely, he summoned Pakkun and gave him a small letter. "You know who to give this to." With those words and a nod, Pakkun was gone.
"Naruto...help is on the way. Just hang in there and don't do anything too rash, until we get there." Kakashi thought to himself before finally making his way towards the gate. He was already thinking things through in his mind and trying to figure out what course of actions might need to be made. So many things and possibilities ran through his mind, but he needed to sort them out and rather quickly. He soon had the gate in view and knew that things would soon be under way.
