This is a FriTik prompt: "Ash decides to tell his friends that he has been a Pokemon the whole time. Roughly around the same time, they decide to do the same." I then went and mowed the lawn and this prompt just gave me so many ideas.
Ash was excited and nervous. Excited for the win, the win that was a long time coming. Wining the Manalo conference, and now the World Coronation Series was exciting. But the nervousness was, unfortunately, more powerful. A little bit of it was the fear of the unknown. Was he now a Pokemon Master, and did that mean he had to do something else with his life?
"Well, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it." mumbled Ash to Pikachu. He and his first Pokemon sat on the edge of his bed in his room in house he grew up in, the same one he had left all that time ago to start his journey. It had not changed much except for a newer HDTV, which his mom had gotten once during one of his more recent League trips. He was not sure.
"If you are talking about what comes next, you don't have to do it." said the yellow mouse Pokemon. Ash sighed as Pikachu brought up the main reason Ash was nervous.
His mother had put together a party tonight, and had invited almost everyone Ash had met over all his travels, and judging by the RSVP, nearly all of them where coming. Misty, Brock, Serena, Clemont, Bonnie, Cilian, Goh, etc. She had even gone out and gotten the ones that he had traveled with for shorter periods of time. Ritche, Barry, Bianca, even ones like Casey and Todd Snap. Of course, all of his Pokemon would be there to. Many of the adults he met, such as Pokemon professors and gym leaders, were also coming. They were all coming to celebrate him.
His mother had asked Ash to give a little thank you speech, and this is what was making Ash nervous. Not so much the act of speaking, but the secret he had decided to spill.
He was a Pokemon.
He and his mom had always been Pokemon. Specifically, Ash was a Pikachu. His mom, being a Raichu, knew. So did Professor Oak. However, only some of his Pokemon, such as Pikachu, Bulbasaur, and Buizel, knew. Not that he did not trust them, it's just that his mother had drilled into him so much a Pichu to NOT tell anyone of their secret.
As it turned out, Ash's father was an Alolan Raichu, while his mother's father was a Zoroark. With this unique combination, he and his mother had learned to project human illusions. Being a mix of Zoroark dark type powers and Alolan Raichu psychic powers, the illusions where really strong. Only Pokemon with a very good since of smell could figure out something was different.
But after all he had been through, he had decided that is was time to come clean to his friends. He hated keeping secrets from them, and it was eating him up.
"No Pikachu, I have to do it. For my own sanity, at least."
"It's your decision. I support you." said Pikachu as he jumped up on Ash's shoulder.
"Thanks. Well, let's head down. The party is about to start, and I'm hungry." replied Ash.
"Never change, Ash."
Ash stood in front of the microphone his mom had set up on top of some wood boxes that made a makeshift stagea nd looked out at the crowd of friends. The humans were sitting at round tables with Pokeball patterned table cloths, while everyone's Pokemon had been among said tables on the ground. All eyes on him, with his mom holding up a camcorder while Todd started snapping photos with his Nikon. It had been a fun party, but now the moment of truth had arrived.
"Hello, everyone!" Ash said as he held a small 4x5 card in his hands. "Thank you all for coming here tonight to celebrate me, I guess. I'm not that special, though."
"Nonsense, my boy. Winning the World Coronation Series is outstanding!" replied Professor Oak.
"Shhhhhh." said Delia as she looked at the Pokemon professor. "Keep going, honey!"
"Thanks..." Ash then looked at the card. All it said was 'Tell them' in big letters. "Might as well get this over quickly." he thought. "Everyone, I need to tell you something. The truth is...I am a Pokemon."
Ash looked up from the card slowly, worried at what he would see. His mother looked at him in shock, the camcorder now on the table on a tilt. Professor Oak and the Pokemon who knew all had eyes as wide as tires. Everyone else just looked either confused, or for some reason, uncomfortable.
"Ash, stop making references to Iron Pokeman!" yelled Misty from her seat.
"It's the truth, Misty. I'm a Pikachu, and my mother is a Raichu. Watch." With that, Ash dropped his illusion, and in place of his human body was the familiar fur of his real body. Ash then lifted up his hat to see better over the crown (thankfully the stage was height enough so he could still see everyone's face.) This time...everyone was in shock. Suddenly Ash felt shy, something he was not used to. The feeling grew worse as the seconds dragged on and no one said a thing.
"Um...hello." he waved his paw, trying to get some reaction. Apparently it was enough, because Misty suddenly jumped up and ran toward Ash. Scared, Ash looked for a direction to jump off, but Misty was somehow fast. She reached Ash, arms stretched out. Scared for his life, Ash closed his eyes, prepared for the worst as Misty reached the stage and grabbed for Ash.
The worst never came.
Instead, when he opened his eyes, he realized he was being hugged by Misty. "Oh Ash, thank you."
"Thank...you?" asked Ash.
"Yes, thank you for telling us your secret." replied Misty as she let go of Ash.
"Why?" asked Ash.
"Because now I can share my secret." She placed Ash back on the stage. Ash watched as she climbed up onto the stage and faced every. "Hello, I'm Misty, I traveled with Ash and Brock in Kanto and Johto. I'm also a Pokemon."
Ash was flabbergasted as the orange headed Misty was gone, and in her place was a Popplio with a bright orange nose.
"What the..." said Ash as it was his turn to be overcome by shock.
"I traveled with TWO trainers who where Pokemon?" yelled Squirtle from where he was sitting.
"Make that three." said Brock. The aspiring Pokemon doctor pushed his chair back and walked up to stage. Ash walked as Brock climbed up and stood next to Misty, which made the group two Pokemon and one human. In an instant, it became three Pokemon Brock was now a Rockruff, the rock puppy Pokemon, his fur dark brown like his hair.
"Hello, everyone." said Brock. "I've traveled with Ash, May, Max, and Dawn. I'm also a Pokemon.
"My trainer is a POKEMON!?" screamed Marshtomp.
"It looks like the Skitty is out of the bag." said Delia as she righted the camcorder.
"Careful, that might be literal." replied the Pokemon Professor with a half laugh.
"Ummmmmmmmm..."said a voice from the table over. Ash turned his head and got a some pain as his left hear hit the microphone stand. He rubbed it as he started at May and Max. "My brother and I are Skitty." A flash of light enveloped them, and in their place were two Skitty that jumped up on to the table so everyone could see them. May was pink, while Max was the shiny color variation.
Delia then got up from her chair and walked to the stage. She climbed up and turned into her Raichu form. She flicked her long tail as she stood in front of the mike and looked out at the crowd.
"It seems like there are quite a few of us here that are Pokemon. So that there are no more surprises, please raise your hand now if you are really a Pokemon pretending to be human."
Ash could not believe what he saw. Apparently the world was full of Pokemon disguised as human. That or he just happened to find the few that are, because as he looked out, nearly every one raised their hands. Gary Oak, Dawn, Serena, Todd Snap, Professor Oak, Igno, Emmet...there where just so many. In fact, from his perspective, the only ones he could se not raising their hands were Charles Goodshow, the Viridian City nurse joy, and Harrison.
"Oh my..."said Pikachu.
"Well, you are in good company, so I guess you might as well show your true selves." replied Delia with a sigh. Ash watched as the amount of Pokemon at the party grew. A LOT? Gary was an Eevee? Goh was a Zorua? N is the legendary Keldeo?! Casey is a Elekid?
"Actually, Casey being an Elekid makes sense. She does love yellow pokemon with black stripes" said Ash.
"Well, it makes sense you're a Pikachu, Ash!" Misty shot back.
"Why?"
"Because you became one in Johto with that witch!" the Popllio replied.
"Yeah, more of it just negated the effects of my illusion for a awhile. I just pretended I had transformed." said Ash sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his head with a paw.
"You know, other things make sense now..." mused Ash's Snivy who had also climbed onto the stage. "After all, Ash just seemed to know things that would pass humans by."
"It actually explains a lot." said the Leafeon that was Professor Oak.
"Yeah, like why Pikachu hated me when we first met." replied Ash.
"He did?" asked Snivy.
"Yep! It all began..."
Why did Pikachu hate Ash? Stay tuned to find out!
