**Please be patient with me. I am currently reading the ENTIRE series right now and the story will change as I read each book. (Currently on ACOSF) I did get some spoilers as I googled to try to pronounce a name and figure out who is who... BUT I'm going in blind on the most part. Since there are so many characters to remember, I'm focusing on the main 'cast' unless otherwise. This is a work of fiction and have no rights besides my own characters. There are going to have mistakes along the way so please ignore them. It's going to be rated Mature in the future for reasons.**
Earth
It was the night of the famous and rare mixture of a meteor shower, a comet, and the alignments of three neighboring planets would take place. The news swept across the entire world for months and finally.. Two people was outside watching the night sky on the very night that the state that they was in would see it. The moon and stars was out and the night was rather peaceful. If you can call the occasional car that drove pass the apartment buildings. The air wasn't too bad since the coldness that came after the sun went down, did calm the heat of the day. Bryce was sitting on the slab of concrete that served as the back porch while his friend with benefits was out on the grass. A throw blanket that was mainly used as a secondary blanket whenever she visited was on the grass to which she was laying on.
Bryce was a fairly average male that had short sandy brown hair and green eyes that was behind glasses. In one hand was a vape and the smoke that lingered around the porch gave off a pleasant mixed berry scent. The other was flexing, craving to grasp and fondle the plump breast of his on and off lover. They already enjoyed the early hours together, ignoring his room mates at the time since she was a bit of a loud mouth, and was now awaiting the show. She on the other hand had different feelings.
She wasn't attractive in her eyes and mostly got insecurities from it. Being around forty to fifty pounds overweight due to her past and tramas, she held herself rather shy and timid. Her hair was like milk chocolate in color and a few months ago was styled in a cute pixie cut. Now it was covering her ears and the bangs got in her hazel eyes. She only loved her eyes. How they was a shade of green that she couldn't name and the brown that surrounded her pupil was a good contrast. A darker shade of the green was a ring around the outer iris, making her eyes pop. The rest of her body, however.. She sighed as she tightened her hold on her rounded stomach.
Just hours before they both went outside, she had to put on a show. It was the same thing ever since they got together six years ago. They both knew each other since they was around five and both was friends up until he had to move away when they both entered high school. Mutual friends on Facepage* made them connect once more. The six years that they was friends, she grew to love him silently while he only went after her whenever he was single. The constant on and off battle of him getting a girlfriend while she stayed loyal made her heart break more times then she could count. If there was a reason he always came back to her, she'd never know since he always told her that she gave great oral. The sex wasn't that great to begin with. Same old oral then right to sex. There was no warming her up either and oh how she wished there was some reciprocating.
She frowned up at the moon, wishing.. hoping that a man would love her and ease the burdens and tramas she endured in her past. Make her feel beautiful enough to be worthy and not some secondhand fling. "What time is it?" She asked, breaking the silence she could feel on her exposed skin. That was another thing. Ever since she was little, she always had a sense of things that went wrong or she didn't feel comfortable. Was it because of her autism or just her overstimulated mind? The entire day felt wrong to her and all she wanted was to go home.
Bryce took out his phone and pressed the power button to make the wallpaper appear. "Almost two A.M. The news said it would happen around twelve. I don't think we-" "Look!" She said as she pointed up at the sky. He stepped off the porch and tilted his head up to witness what she saw. Falling stars streaked across the sky as the planets, as small as the stars, started to be noticeable to the human eye. They both could tell that the bright blue was the biggest planet and the others that was red was the neighbors.
The moon seemed to change color from it's milky white to a shade of pink as the comet began its journey. Her eyes darted to the moon then to the comet that made the sky go from black to an array of pink, orange, then red. That feeling of something wrong grew. The weight of it made her uneasy and suddenly, she was scared. "Bryce, I wanna go inside," she said, fear already in her voice. He, however, stared in awe at the rainbow of pink to crimson red. He snapped out of it when she got up to grab his arm. "Bryce!" She said. The red sky brightened enough to cause both of them to close their eyes. All he heard before passing out was her terrified scream.
Prythian - Somewhere in the Day Court
She was first to wake up by the sun and how warm everything was. With a groan, she slowly sat up to look at her surroundings before realizing a few key things. One, she wasn't in the backyard, two was that Bryce was a few feet away, and three was that they was in a meadow. The breeze coming from the north was cool against her skin as she brushed her hands along the grass that felt like the softest of velvet and silk. It was as if the ground itself had never felt anything but the neighboring flower or two in eons. The flowers that bloomed around her was a mixture of all the common wildflowers she seen and few she did not.
Purple cornflowers, bloodroots, evening primrose, and sulphur cosmos flowers was all she knew. The rest was unknown to her as she focused her sights on a flower that reminded her of a rose. Only this rose gave off a tulip look by how the tightly pressed petals that gave off a wonderful assortment of pinks and yellows. Her amazement was broken by Bryce's groan and a curse word to which she looked over at him with a glare. "W-where are we?" He asked when he glanced around as well. The shock of not knowing where they were wasn't present until they both snapped their attention to a beautiful and frightening sight.
The well built male had dark brown skin with onyx black hair. His tall and muscular frame was clad in a glimmering white and gold attire and she couldn't tell if it was a robe or a two piece that was held bound by a golden belt. A crown of gold spikes rested on his head and she was reminded of the sun itself. Immediately she felt at ease and something inside her said that he was trustworthy but should stay alert. Bryce on the other hand had to press his legs together to hide a growing erection. Yes, the male before them was gorgeous but she didn't feel anything but how all she wanted to do was to spoil the beast that was behind him.
The creature that she laid eyes upon was a black coated and stood rather proudly. She never seen such a horse with a shine like an oil slick, that is until she noticed the wings that was tucked on either side of the beast's sides. She only knew them by the books she read and now wondered how in the hell did this man capture one. "Your so pretty," She coo'd before adding "Oh, I wished I had a sugar cube for you." Her compliment was on the male's ears and his now confused expression was focused on her. "What are you doing here in the meadow? I thought humans was-," His sentence was broke off by Bryce who now was scrambling up on his feet. "Now hold on a damn minute!" He said once he found his footing. "Where are we?"
Her head darted from the male to Bryce then back at the male again before she said, "Question from us then you." The male nodded before answering, "You are in Day court. I am Helion. High Fae of the Day Court. My question is why are you here?" The male gave off an energy that showed malice and demanding but under it was something more like. . She bit the inside of her bottom lip from smirking as Bryce asked, "High what? And what is Day court?" Before Helion could reply, he was now getting onto her feet to grab Bryce's arm.
"He's a fearie. Like in the books I read! Courts are like their homes. A high fae like a king or queen of the land th-" "Will you shut up?! You and your books. There's no such thing as a-" "Will you two please shut it before Meallan stomps you into the ground?" Helion asked. She quickly quieted before she pointed a finger at the pegasus who was stomping his right hoof. "That's-He's so pretty. C-Can I please pet-" Her question was broken by Bryce's cursing and then his very loud questions. She then realized that he broke first.
She on the other hand, dealt with the shock differently. They was no longer on earth and now was in a meadow with a high fae and a winged horse! Her mind was full of questions and the only thing that made clear that she was freaking out was her trembling. She forced herself that she was dreaming or in a simulation room that allowed her senses to be in her. Her great grand aunt had a tiny library in her home to which she enjoyed reading the fantasy books that the was cherished and passed down from generation to generation. She wasn't fond of the technology and rather get lost a story rather than a screen. One series in particular rose up from the depths of her memory which made her blirt out "PenOrgan*"
Both males looked at her and it was Helion who questioned her "What?" She only shook her head as the memory of the books filled her mind. A young boy that if he read any book out loud, the sentences he spoke would come into his world. The only downside was that even though the objects or people he summoned looked and felt real, if damaged or killed, the thing in question would be nothing more than ink and would be sucked back into the book it came from. Jewels vanished if contacted by any liquid and people from the books would melt into a puddle of ink. Was she and Bryce in a twisted tale of being sucked into a world rather than the world be around them?
"So clear this up before Bryce passes out. We are in a land called Day court and you are the high fae called Helion. That's a pegasus and we both are. ." She trailed off as two more faeries appeared out of thin air. They was far different than the dark skinned male but equally was beautiful. Ugh! She was now growing tired of using that word but it was true. She now felt even more unworthy and wrapped her arms around her stomach as if she could shield it. The female was slender but curvy in the right places with a pale complexion. Her golden brown hair flowed down past her shoulders and her blue-gray eyes stared right at her.
The male beside her was a tall male that had short black hair that shined a dark blue in the sun and his violet eyes with flecks if silver reminded her of the night sky. She guessed that he was around six feet and a few inches tall, making him taller than Helion. Or was she just shorter than the female? Being five feet and six inches felt.. Puny. What made her gasp and trip over her own feet to land back on the ground was the wings. The male sported giant membranous wings that appeared to be bat-like and was slightly unfurled as if he just landed. He wore black attire that reminded her of a fighting leather attire while she wore a black dress that glimmered in the sun.
Her and Bryce's attire was so odd compared to the three Faes. The male sported to what was a pair of black baggy pants that was torn at the knees and wore a set of shoes that had hoes in it. The girl wore a set of matching colors of grey. The shirt had no sleeves and the neckline was rather low as if it was stretched. The pants she wore was similar to the males, but it was a bit too short but covered her upper thighs enough to not be considered undergarments. A necklace of silver was around her neck and dangling from it was a crescent moon that was made from wire. In the middle of the moon was a small chunk of rose quartz that was held by a small loop of wire. Her hazel eyes was wide with unshed tears and the Fae female couldn't help to feel a tad sad for the girl.
Bryce noticed the two before he stilled with a womanly squeak before fainting. Guess it was all up to her now. Her sentences became quick and at the end of her explaining, she was on her feet and pacing. "Okay before I do the same. Here's what happened. Around two a.m. there was this rare threeway show in the sky. Three planets aligned, if you guys have planets I would love to listen to any story you have. Or just give me books. I love to read anything. So a meteor shower happened right as a comet went by. They are like rocks that pass through or are near the earth's atmosphere that burn up before landing on the planet."
"Oop! Fuck! Earth is where we came from. It's name is Earth.. As boring as it is because it just means dirt. Since I have no idea what land we are now on and i'm thinking we are sucked in a book or simulation-" She stopped altogether as she was now focused on the black beast that now shoved past the three to give her face a good sniff. With a soft nicker and a toss of his head, he turned to walk off to wherever he pleased. "I-" She said before she leaned forward to grab her knees. "Whoa!"
"Well that was. . .,"Helion said before he turned to face the pegasus then back at her. "He never did that." She straightened and inhaled deeply just as the other male said "Maybe Amren will have answers. I thought the rifts was sealed." The female nodded to which Helion said "Well, since our meeting is interrupted by something more important, I'll leave them to you." And with that, he vanished. She stared at the space where he used to stand before her eyes darted to the two. "I'm sorry that your me-" A loud and sudden music went off, making her wince and turn to face Bryce. Maybe there was service and this entire thing was a simulation after all?!
She knelt down and started to pat at his thighs for a moment before her hand slipped down his shorts pocket to pull out his phone. It was roughly the size of her hand, black, and was flat. When she turned the flat object over to reveal the otherside, both Faes grew alarmed at the show. The phone had numbers and on the front was a symbol that looked like a star but it had five points and was upside down. When she turned off the alarm, she then pulled out her own phone and stared hard at the two objects. Dropping the one that once blared music, she then set to work on moving her fingers across the device before frowning. "I.. I don't understand. It's not allowing me to-FUCK!" She stood up and hit the device a few times before lowering both hands. The unshed tears started to flow as her breathing quickened. "We are really not on earth.. Where are we?"
"Your on Prythian. I'm Rhysand. The High lord of the night court and this is my mate and wife, Feyre. Armen is my second in command and she might give us answers to your predicament," He said, puzzlement on his features. "The guy there is named Bryce and I'm Estrella," She said before slipping both phones into her pockets. "Nice to meet you, Estrella. That's a rather pretty name," The woman, Feyre said. "Shall we?" She held out a hand for her to take to which, Estrella stared at before glancing at Bryce. "What about.." She trailed off then blinked when Rhysand walked over to pick the male up. "This might disorient you a little. Best to close your eyes," Feyre said after Estrella took her hand. "Huh?" She asked before they all vanished.
The blinding blackness was deafening and stripped her of any feeling besides the woman's hand in hers. When the blackness seemed to be too much for her, the scene changed. She blinked away the confusing scene in front of her and then let go of Feyre's hand and rub her eyes. With a hiss, she pressed her knuckles against her eyelids before she lowered her hands. They was not alone and she took in each face with wide eyes. So many faces and attire to remember, Estrella took in the gorgeous fae folk before Bryce's voice spoke up behind her "The fuck are we now?!" She wiped around to find him standing on wobbling legs before he pushed Rhysand away. "Dude, I'm not gay. Get off me!" He said then fell onto his knees.
She snorted before saying "Bryce, I saw your boner when you saw Helion so don't lie. That's Rhysand and that's Feyre. We are in a land called Pryt-" "I want to go home and where the hell's my phone?!" He demanded as he frantically tried to find it. "I don't have it!" Estrella snapped. She was glad she put both phones on silent. "And stop interrupting me will you!?" "Who are these humans?" A females voice asked. The voice was of a soft tone but held a sharpness to it. The voice alone made Estrella's shoulders rise before she turned around to face the one that talked. She was small, being around her height and hd smooth tanned skin. Her hair was of chin length and was straight and black. Her eyes reminded Estrella of a korean origin and her eyes was silver.
"I'm Bryce and that fatass is Estrella," Bryce's voice made her wince and look down at the ground for a moment before she looked around. She knew her excitement was waning and it was best to focus on the sights rather than words. She hated burnouts and it caused her to be reclusive and introverted. She ignored the now mixed of voices that asked questions and gotten answers as she slowly spun in a circle. She heard choice words like "Useless" , "Bitch", and "Worthless" but didn't care. She now was caring about how much work was into the details around her.
Where they were at the moment was at some large gazebo adorned with lush vines and other plants she couldn't define. Each pillar was covered in to what looked like puffy moss that had tiny flowers randomly placed onto it and the ground itself felt like marble. Looking up at the ceiling, she found that it was glass that was stained a shade of very light black that almost looked grey. Course the contrast of the actual black assortment of swirls and leaves that was spread out from the middle to the edges reminded her of gothic victorian origin. "Wow," She breathed out in awe. Bryce's comment of being in her own world snapped her out of it and made her hiss like a cat. "If you would just stop and admire everything, maybe that thorn in you would come out," She spat.
She didn't know why she ever did love the man or even let him bitch and whine about wanting her over for a few hours. When he wasn't complaining about his roommates being greedy about the bills or their own love lives, he was putting her down. He wasn't always like this. They grew up together and that was what she loved the most. He was kind, supportive, and rather generous towards her and often would stand up against her bullies up until he had to move before they started high school. They then rekindled a few years later when her ex boyfriend cheated on her. But now, all he wanted to do was to be a toxic alpha type and belittle her. Course, she had a few comebacks herself from his roomies that she all so desperately wanted to blurt out.
"Alright calm down before-" a male's voice said before Bryce turned to face a rather handsome man that had golden brown skin. His eyes was hazel and his black hair was shoulder length. He also sported talon tipped black wings that was folded against his back. What she noticed was that he had rounded ears and a scar was slashed beneath one while another was just above his left pectoral. There was seven gems in his attire that she was now convinced that it was some type of battle armor. Besides Feyra and Armen who was wearing a simple white to grey gradient dress with a ruby necklace, they all wore similar clothing. "Formalites are in order before Armen might or might not try to help. I'm Cassian," He said.
She hated to stare but it wasn't her fault. Most got uncomfortable with her intense and blank expression, leaving her confused when they walked off or said a rude comment. It did have a great power however for she saw flaws and remembered faces more than names. Staring into people's eyes was an issue when they stared back but when they was looking elsewhere, she gladly took the opportunity to soak up the colors and details. It seemed that Cassian felt her and flicked his irises towards her. Being caught, she felt her cheeks and neck heat up before looking away.
Armen looked lost in thought before she sniffed loudly towards her and Bryce. "They are clearly not from here. Tell your tale, girl." And so Estrella told the same story again. When she was done, Cassian noticed that she was tired. Not tired physically but.. "So, where are they going to stay?" Feyre asked. "Can we afford two more?" Rhysand nodded, "They can't go to the human village. Might cause some distractions with how they are dressed." Estrella looked down at her bare feet as she reached up to fiddle with the moon pendant that rested on her chest. He was right for her pajamas was sticking out like a sore thumb and Bryce's basketball shorts would sure to get stares.
The necklace was a gift to herself since she loved space. She read books upon books of stars and planets and rather enjoyed staring at the pictures of galaxies and making up her own constellations. Sure, her memory wasn't the greatest but it always had a strange knack of blurting any information on the spot if needed. The rose quartz that dangled was said to be good for opening the heart, refining the heart, and imbuing the body and soul with healing energy. She wasn't one to be into the whole gems and what they could do to the body but she liked to read the little detailed notes and collect them purely on how they looked. She had an entire shelf dedicated to the crystals and gems she'd collected over the years. Her favorite was anything rainbow and blue.
"I'd like to wear something else then this," She mumbled. "You in a dress?" Bryce asked before he got the death glare from her. She wasn't known for shopping for clothes that were girly but seeing how the dress was glamorous and fitted perfectly, she was envious. "What? Can't a woman my size wear something as beautiful and elegant as a dress?" She snapped. Her social battery was draining and soon she knew she would become the shy and withdrawn person she normal fell back upon. He knew it just by looking at her and decided to edge it on. She did catch a glimpse of Cassian and Rhysand and both males expression and body language looked like they wanted to kill Bryce. Cassian did take a step forward as Bryce's comment made Estrella take a step back with a frown. "Your going to look like a busted biscuit can," He said with a seething prideful tone. No Fae knew what he meant or said about a 'busted biscuit can' but the reaction made it clear it wasn't good.
Feyre, having enough, stepped forward to shield Estrella and spoke softly to her. "Come. I'm sure a clothier would happily make you a dress." Armen's ice cold stare didn't phase Estrella as she was gently pulled away from the group and was winnowed away. Armen exhaled through her nose before she said to Bryce. "Keep making comments like that boy and your balls will be hung like chestnuts over a fireplaces mantel." Bryce glanced her away and immediately felt deferential at her expression. Course, he was the sort to not back down from a girl's threat but something about the small woman made him feel uneasy. "Hey! On my planet, looks are everything," He lied. "I just hang out with her because she's an easy lay."
Prythian - Velaris
The social status drained fast once she gotten a glimpse of the City. The bright colors made her eyes hurt and caused her to stumble and the noise made her ears ring. Feyra took this as a sign that she was walking too fast and thus she paused to look at her. Seeing that she was disturbed by something, Feyre asked "Are you okay?" Estrella shook her head rather slowly as if she was confused and was trying to figure it out. "I'm.. Overstimulated but.." With a clearing of her throat, she squinted past the brightness until her eyes adjusted.
Memorizing the Cities sections and shops made her head hurt and tried to get her surroundings in order and put in place, but she just followed the High Lady with silence. The shops they passed was interesting and the window shopping helped. One shop displayed tapestries and was rather drawn to one that was black with golden sunflowers and other flowers that was either gold or orange. Unknown plantlife of green also was on display in the background and right in the middle was a moon that shined a yellowed tone. Having no idea what currency they used for money, she gave the shopkeeper a sad smile and a wave goodbye.
They passed a few stores that sold paintings, supplies of many crafting and painting kits, and even one store sported jewelry. The sudden stop rather the slowing of the pace, made Feyre turn to face the human girl. The scent that she smelled was excitement but also a sense that she was tired in more ways than one. She smelled it since they winnowed to the meeting gazebo. Catching her eye, she then mentally groaned. The crystals and gems made those hazel eyes shine and found sights on a large blue sapphire. "Back home, I collected these. Oh, I had no entertainment on the powers they held, if it was true, but the thought of a clear quartz crystal would help protect me against negative energies..." She trailed off before looking at Feyra. "I did hope that it would suck Bryce's bad energy away"
"I don't mean to pry but.." Feyre asked but didn't say anything more, hoping that the girl would fill her in. "He wasn't always cruel. He used to be nice and protect me from others that threw names or tried to pick fights with me. We lost touch for a few years then.. He just switched and i just hoped that he would go back to the man i loved. Don't say anything but the sex.." Her facial expression turned into a grimace "No." Feyra tried to hide a snort to which the small human smirked. "Let's find me a dress" Changing the subject was best and so Feyra pulled her along.
The seamstress gave her a quick once over before she had Estrella on a step stool. Feyre told the woman that she would be responsible on payment and the woman dismissed her with a wave and a smile. Estrella had to stand still and be straight as she could be when the woman stripped her of her pajamas. She was thankful that they was surrounded by curtains and just ladies, but the exposure of it all made her wish she'd cover herself. Her panties was of the same color as her pajamas and was of the booty shorts version.
Thinking that her underwear was from a male, Estrella just let the woman chatter about a lover she wished she had. She didn't have the heart to correct the woman. "Brown hair, hazel eyes, light cream skin.. Best color suitable is earth tones with a hint of pink or orange undertones. Rich autumn colors, my dear." Having her social batterey in the danger zone, Estrella still mustered up the courage to ask. "Uhm.. Can we have blue in it? Pastel blues rather than pink?" The woman stared hard at her before leaving to collect fabric. After a few hours and with some magic, Estrella was fitted with a dress. Looking at herself in the mirror, she couldn't believe what she was seeing and let the tears flow. "I.. Oh my lords," She breathed.
The top was a dark blue that looked almost black and contoured to make her stomach slimmer. It wasn't really a corset style but her breasts was held up with support. The skirt was flowy and layered in a way to show choppy but blended to a gradient of the dark blue to a lighter teal at the bottom. She was not fond of the three inched frilly sleeves that could either be on her shoulders or to rest against her biceps but didn't want to upset the woman. She did love that the woman added pockets. The payment, she noticed, was that she would bill Rhysand's account. She caught the words of one hundred and twenty gold marks and frowned, confused. "Uhm.. You can burn the grey clothing if you wish," She said after she secretly got the phones and shoved them into the pockets of the skirt.
The shopping did not end there for she really needed shoes and accessories. She sore off high heels and settled for a pair of faleece heels in a dark navy lace. The toes and the lace was marked off by a set of small jewels that shined in the light. The blue sapphire she was eyeing was now resting against her chest and was hung by diamonds around her neck. The pendent necklace she did wore, was now in her pocket that was safely wrapped in fabric. The rose quartz was fake and the woman tried to sell the fake with a real but Estrella shook her head. "It was a gift," Was all that she could muster before Feyre whisked her away get her hair done. Since it was short and not much to work with, she had it styled in a way that was cute enough for even her standards.
Feyre winnowed them to another place that reminded her of a home that was inviting and warm. She told her that Rhysand and the inner circle was expecting them at one of the homes they had and Estrella grew confused soon after they left the shops. She then guessed with was a fae thing and went with it. It wasn't dinner time yet and Feyre and Rhysand both wanted them to be introduced to the rest of the fae. Since Armen decided to be in her room to try to find answers, the humans was guests for the time being. She heard male's voices and then a womans laughter as Feyra opened the door. Estrella waited outside since she was told to stay and entered the house when she heard "Introducing Estrella!"
She seen a few new faces mixed with the ones she saw earlier but the one she stared at was a male that had blue eyes that looked to be glowing. He looked like a younger version of Rhysand but he held features like Feyre. His black hair reminded her of the void and wondered if the locks was as soft as they looked. He was tanned due to the suns exposure and his wings was blacker than his hair. His attire was similar to the leathers like the other males but he didn't wear the gems. She then realized that his stare into hers didn't hurt. In fact, the stare made her skin buzz in a pleasant way.
Bryce's voice then pierced her ears, making her snap out of the trace the male held on her. "The fuck happened to you?" He asked. Estrella turned on her heel so fast that her skirt was twisted around her legs. It seemed he had a day with the males for he was dressed in a purple and black attire that she didn't know if it was some kind of kimono or a robe. "Got out the bath just now?" She asked. A male's snicker was all she heard behind her as Bryce said, "This is height of fashion." Not wanting to fight, she only tossed her head back and said "Insult to me is an insult to Feyra." Being introduced to the rest of the fae folk drained her to the point that she kept quiet and took a seat in a chair. All was handsome and beautiful in their own way and she noticed that most was paired with mates.
She listened to the voices as she fiddled with the fabric of her skirt. How training went or how one of the male's fell on their asses whenever their mate sent them an image in their mind. She kept her head low up until someone asked how they got there. It was Bryce that told the tale but his version was sprinkled with lies. How she pleaded to be with him and have amazing sex before watching the scene at night. How females in their world was based on looks and the uglies was dismissed as nothing but maids.
Her glare towards him was noticed by the male that captivated her to which he asked "So how come a male of your status have relations with a so called maid?" Bryce's reply was his face going red and Estrella's giggle. What happened next was a Estrella's outburst when Bryce grumbled, "Her mouth is the only thing worthy to me" "Yet nothing on you screams pleasurable" Only Cassian and the male with blue eyes heard this and both stifled their laughter.
Thinking it was for him, Bryce smiled and started to express low opinions about her. She was used to his comments and so, she reverted back to being quiet and out of the way. Unknowest to her, all the fae knew he was lying but decided to let him fall into his own trap. Near dinner time, most of the Fae sat down and it was a female named Elain who gave her shoulder a gentle pat. The male sat beside her on the right and she couldn't help to steal glances.
When food was placed on the table, she kept her hands in her lap until the others started to eat. She didn't want to be rude to eat first. She added grapes and slices of to what looked like apple slices on her plate as well as chicken before reaching over for a roll. Mid meal, she took her cup and stared inside. The liquid made her grimace and put the contents back into the cup before she wiped her mouth. "Don't like wine?" Azriel asked to which she said, "It's not that. My liver can't handle a lot of alcohol. Makes me get sick." The male that she eyed, turned his attention to her and leaned in to say in her ear. "We have water." She caught scent of him and her pupils dilated. He smelled like old books, lavender, and something she couldn't define. The two scents she loved just became three. Azriel caught scent of her interest as well as the ones nearby and all looked in her direction.
Even the High Lord and Lady stared at her and she felt uneasy and shy. So she focused on eating. By the time the meal was over, she leaned back in her chair and exhaled. "Thanks for the food. i'm not one to like veggies and fruits but.. That was good" She said. It was true for she hated veggies, saved for her mother's veggie pizza that she now craved, and the only fruits she liked was apples and bananas. Smoothies was another thing entirely for she like a strawberry and banana mix. "I'll tell the twins that," Rhysand said then added "Now, the matter on where to put you guys until we can come up with a plan to get you two home. Estrella, you can have the-" She tuned him out.
Home. It triggered her. Back home, she had no one of her family for what and who she is. After she came out as bisexual, her family outright shunned her. It was expected for only straights and white folk shall be in the family circle. She was grateful that she got on some kind of government funding for her autism and found a cheap apartment for herself before her own mother called her a disgrace. A few years later and her nephew was born, it was clear where her families attention was set upon and Estrella was livid. They did not allow her to any parties because she liked woman as well as men but invited her sister and her half black child to basically anything. To be honest with herself, besides her sister and nephew that she hardly saw, she didn't want to go back. All she had was the asshole who was now looking at Elain as if he wanted her for dessert.
The male beside her gave her a gentle elbow nudge which she started. "What?" She asked as she looked around the table. "I asked if I could escort you to your room," he said. Her blank stare made him smile and straightened to-She didn't realize that he was standing until he pushed his chair forward. "Oh. Yes," She said then got up to do the same. Bryce was now glaring at them when they began to go towards the stairs and grumbled under his breath when the guy asked if he could show her around the City tomorrow. Her happy reply made him grip his armrests before he stood up and follow them. Course, he was stopped by Cassian and Nesta who was now headed towards the front door to leave. When he reached the second floor, the hallway was occupied by the man who was headed towards him "She's mine, prick," Bruce snarled. The guy only gave him a bored expression then said with a tone that Bryce's blood chilled "Unless she says so, she'll decide who she belongs to. Names Nyx by the way." The male annoyed him and vowed that he shall not touch Estrella as long as he was around.
Nyx smelled her way before his mother opened the door. She smelled like a glazed vanilla doughnut that was fresh from the oven and caramel coated sour apples. He didn't know how the two scents complemented each other but it worked. There was also the hint of ink, paper, and flowers that lingered and he smiled to himself. She liked to read and garden like his aunts. It made his head hurt just inhaling the smells. When she entered the home and stared up at him, all he wanted to do was to shut Bryce up. Her eyes was captivating, luring him into the depths and he didn't want to leave.
How they was such a deep rich green that it reminded him of the color himalaya but not quite for they was a lighter shade. The brown that surrounded her iris, gave off a rich chocolate cream that made him crave a glass of melted chocolate with cold milk mixed with it. He could tell that she wasn't some lowlife whore Bryce was explaining in great detail and even his uncles, aunts, and father was ready to teach him a lesson. He noticed how she held herself and took every insult Bryce gave her and that made him pissed. Dinner, he barely ate and watched her eat. How she expected something gross but gladly ate like she never tasted anything better. He did sense that she stole glances his way then when his father saw that she was lost in thought about going home, he chipped in before Bryce opened his mouth. After she closed the door that now served as her bedroom, he wished he could more to help. Hearing Bryce's footstomps ascend up the steps, he moved away from her door and put on a mask.
