Prologue
It was a peaceful day unlike any other in the Green Hill Zone; the grass was green, the water was flowing, and the animals were peacefully living in their homes. It was a perfect place for those who wanted to enjoy the outside world without any forms of technology distracting them. And that goes for a Blue Hedgehog who enjoys only rolling around at the Speed of sound and enjoying his surroundings without worrying about any problems. His name was Sonic The Hedgehog. A Hedgehog who prefers to enjoy the outdoors and live life to the fullest extent. And what better way to enjoy his freedom than to run through Green Hill Zone with his ability to sprint?
"*Running In High Speeds* Hehe! As always, there is nothing like a day of running around and enjoying the scenery! *Runs Around A Giant Loop Which Gains Him more Speed*" Sonic commented
His incredible speed allowed him to move more than the average human being. Along with his speedy feet is the ability to use his quickness for combat. Then, he spots several Egg Pawns roaming around in front of him as he quickly jumps into the air, curls into a ball, and homing attacks them one by one, decrying them as they explode soon after. More machines appear in front of him in an attempt to stop him, but he uses Boost's ability to ram into his opponents and defeat them in seconds. He then runs for a while longer to enjoy the peaceful land of Green Hil Zone. But unannounced to the Blue Hedgehog, his life will change forever.
After a good run for a while, Sonic decides to take a little rest and take in the colorfulness of his surroundings. He looks around for a place to rest for a little and finds a tree with enough shade to keep him calm and no signs of enemies surrounding the area.
"*Skids To Stop Him* That was tight! Ah~ What a wonderful day to just run under the clear blue sky and listen to the scenery around you. Hehe~ What more can you ask for? " Sonic said
Sonic then lays under a tree and gets comfortable, planning to nap after a long day of running around Green Hill Zone. Soon enough, he closes his eyes and takes a nap peacefully. He slept for quite a while, with nothing to bother or ambush him during it. All was going well until someone decided to stop by and visit the sleeping Blue Hedgehog, unbeknownst to the Hedgehog.
"What? Are you already tired after running for so long? The Sonic I know would be running all day~." The Person said
"*Stirs In His Sleep* H-Huh...? Whos there...?" Sonic sterns
"Did a coconut hit your head or something? Come on, Sonic, you're better than that."
"*Opens One Eye And Looks Up To See A Red Figure Standing In Front Of Him, Looking Down At Him* Ugh... Give me a break, Knuckles; I don't need you to keep distracting me from taking a nap. A Hedgehog's gotta sleep as well, right?" Sonic slightly annoyed
"Well, you won't be sleeping any longer anytime soon. Something tells me Eggman is up to no good again." Knuckles said
"*Rubbing His Eyes* What is Egghead up to again? What dumb plan does he have going on right now?" Sonic questions
"I just got this news from Team Chaotix earlier today. Eggman is using the Emeralds to build some portal machine that will allow him to travel to different worlds for who knows what. I don't know why he's making a portal to travel to different worlds. I don't understand his goals." Knuckles explained
"Building a teleporter, eh? Whatever the case, it can't be used for something good. I guess I have to cut off my sleep schedule for today and pay Egghead a little visit. *Gets Up From The Ground*" Sonic commented
"I should also come along and deal with Eggman much easier." Knuckles stated
"Don't worry; I can handle this on my own. Besides, this is the tamest creation Egghead has built to get rid of us. What can go wrong while over there?" Sonic said
"Well, you can get pushed in through that portal, and it'll take you to a new world with no way to return here and maybe die there. And we wouldn't know about it." Knuckles commented
"Heh, don't worry Knux. I'll return in one piece, just like any other time. But don't expect me to get killed if I ever get sucked into said machine. Now then, off to visit Egghead with a good friend of ours! *Dashes Away*"
"*Watching Sonic Speeding Off* Hmmm... I have a bad feeling about this..." Knuckles commented
*At The City*
Deep inside the Station Square city lies a workshop home to one of Sonic's friends. He's a friend he's known for a while and has helped him throughout the years thanks to his intelligence in making all sorts of gadgets. The friend in question has amber fur, white fur on his muzzle, cheek tufts, and a front torso with hair on his chest. He has large ears and bushy twin tails; his name is Tails The Fox.
"*Currently Building A New Invention. Wiping The Sweat Off His Face* Whew... After a while of nonstop tests and drops of sweat. My creation Is just about done and almost ready for use; all I need to do is add a couple of added parts to this, and I should be going well!" Tails commented
Tails continues to work on his latest creation with no signs of giving up anytime soon. While building his invention, he hears a knocking coming from the door of his workshop, and a voice can be heard from the other side.
"Hey, Tails, you in there? We got a little situation dealing with Egghead again." Sonic's Voice called out
"I'm inside, Sonic. The doors opened; you can come right in!" Tails replies
"*The Door Opens As Sonic's Enter's His Workshop* Hey there, bud~ How's it going? Any new gadgets you're currently making?" Sonic asks
"Hey Sonic! Yeah, I'm currently making something that could help us for any future fights against one of Eggman's Super-Badnicks. You have to be prepared for what's to come." Tails replies
"Sweet! I can't wait to see the final product later. But anyway, I'm just here to tell you that Egghead is up to his old tricks again. Knuckles told me that Eggman is currently making a teleporter that will allow him to travel to different worlds using the Seven Emeralds he currently has."
"A Teleporter device? Hmm... Whatever reason he's making this device wouldn't be for any good reason. Long has he been making this device?" Tails questions
"It beats me, but that doesn't matter. What matters most is that we must visit Eggman and destroy his toy again before he uses it for his desires. I also need to get those Emeralds back away from him." Sonic stated
"Great idea! Let me clean myself so we can head out immediately! I won't be gone for long! *Quickly Runs To Clean Himself*" Tails said
"Do what you need to do, buddy. I'll wait for you." Sonic commented
After waiting for Tails to clean himself for a few minutes, Tails returns and pulls the blanket off the Tornado. He quickly gets on the pilot seat and begins his engine, the propeller increasing Speed before reaching its limit. Then, he jumps on the wing of Tornado as the garage of the Worksop opens, and Tails moves the plane slowly out of the building.
"Ready, Sonic?" Tails asks
"Ready when you are, Tails!" Sonic replies
Tails nods as the Tornado goes forward and begins to pick up Speed on the ground. It continues like this until the plane slowly gets off the pavement and starts to fly in the air. Tails move the steering as the Tornado begins to fly straight into the air, the two now making their way to meet Dr. Eggman in Eggmanland in an attempt to stop his deeds as usual.
*A While Later At Eggmaland*
Station Square, a city/theme park filled with deadly machinery and traps within the said location, is known as Eggmanland—the home of Sonic's Acrh-rival, Dr. Ivo Robotnik. A scientist who has attempted to rule the world of Mobius repeatedly always fails from his Blue enemy. Despite countless defeats from Sonic, the Doctor never gives up and returns to work to get better and create more machines to finally get rid of the Hedgehog, which has been a thron to him for a while now. Deep inside Eggmanland, Dr. Eggman is seen typing on his computer, coding the teleporter device right before him, and finishing adjusting and modifying it with a focused look on his face.
"*Typing Away On His Computer* All programs should be ready to activate the EggTeleporter! With this! I'll be able to travel worlds beyond ours! I could rule different places and turn them into my much-desired dream of the Eggman Empire! Hohohohoho! The possibilities are endless!" Eggman stated
"Yes, indeed, Dr. Eggman. There are many worlds that even the people here don't know about. What could be lying behind that portal once this is activated." Orbot commented
"Oh! I hope they warmly welcome us as newcomers from a different world! Treat us great!" Cubot exclaimed
"Are you asking of our plans to be broken the second we make our way to such an unknown land?" Orbot said
Dr. Eggman ignores his two robotic companions as he grabs these Chaos Emeralds beside him and puts them in each socket around the teleporter. Once that was done, he returned to his computer and typed for a minute longer until he pressed a button on the holographic keyboard. Soon enough, the colorful Emeralds around the teleporter all glow brightly as a portal slowly forms in the middle. An evil smile is on the Doctor's face as he laughs, knowing his creation is thriving and ready to be used.
"Hehehehehe! Finally! The day has finally arrived for the Eggteleporter to be working finally! Soon, all worlds beyond ours shall know only the name of Dr. Ivo Robotnik! This world and countless others shall be ruled under my name! HOHOHOHOHOHOHO!" Dr. Eggman exclaimed
"Hey! It works! Now we're ready to go whatever place we want to!" Cubot happily said
"Just don't get too comfortable or expect anyone to greet us with open arms like that. However, Doctor, soon enough, Sonic and his friends of heroes will catch wind of this and try to stop you from achieving your goal." Orbot commented.
"Don't worry; neither Sonic nor his little team of heroes will stop me from achieving my goals. I've had enough of being humiliated repeatedly by the Blue rat! I won't let this time end like the previous encounters before." Dr. Eggman said
"He could be on his way for all we know. But don't worry, the Badnicks outside will take care of him as usual." Cubot commented
"And what makes you say that?" Orbot questions
Suddenly, the alarms of Eggman's Lab begin to blur, warning that someone who should not be here has infiltrated Eggmanland.
"WARNING! WARNING! SONIC THE HEDGEHOG HAS BEEN SPOTTED! REPEAT! SONIC THE HEDGEHOG HAS BEEN SPOTTED!" The Annoucer exclaimed
"GRRRRR! Why do you two idiots always have to say something?! Curses! *Types On His Computer Once Again As Cameras Around Eggmanland Appear On His Screen. He Then Notices Piles And Piles Of His Robot Army Destroyed Or Being currently Destroy By Sonic, Who Was On His Way To Face Eggman Himself* Tch! Cruse you, Sonic! Why do you always have to show up the moment something incredible happens? Metal Sonic And Mecha Sonic!" Dr. Eggman commanded!
Two machines appear in front of Dr. Eggman, standing motionless and having almost the same look as Sonic himself. One has a color design on his metal body, and the other is taller, but that is a color instead.
"At your service, Doctor." Mecha Sonic said
"..." Metal Sonic silent
"He's here! Sonic The Hedgehog has once again infiltrated Eggmanland and is coming to destroy the Eggteleporter. I want you two to stop him before he reaches it and takes the Emeralds away! Understood!"
"AH! He's already here! Everyone run for your lives! *Runs And Hids Behind A Desk*" Cubot shouted
"Looks like I was in time for the grand opening of the teleporter you built, Eggman!" Sonic exclaimed
Dr. Eggman and the others turn their heads and notice Sonic standing right at the lab entrance with many of Eggman's robot army destroyed on the ground around Sonic. Barely recognizable.
"Well, if it isn't my good old friend, Sonic The Hedgehog! Why do you always have to ruin everything for me?!" Dr. Eggman angry
"Simple to stop you from ruling the world and taking the peace away from the people here. No matter how powerful you make your little machines, I'll make sure to them with the best of my ability." Sonic replies
"Grrrr! I won't be defeated by the likes of you again, Sonic! Metal and Mecha Sonic! ATTACK!" Dr. Eggman shouted
The engine in the back of Metal Sonic roars as he flies towards Sonic while Mecha Sonic curls into a ball and dashes towards Sonic. Sonic notices the two metal clones of himself coming toward him fast as he dashes away from the two machines. He skids to stop himself as Metal Sonic turns in Direction and heads towards Sonic's way again. Metal Sonic reaches his sharp hands out to grab Sonic, but Sonic performs a Roundhouse Kick and knocks Metal Sonic aside from him. Mecha Sonic aims his arm right arm at Sonic and fires several rockets directly at him. With his fast movement, he manages to dodge each projectile as they all explode him as soon as they hit the wall of the Lab, causing the place to shake.
"Grrrrr! What are you doing, you two?! Try harder!" Dr. Eggman shouted
Metal Sonic regains his focus as he dashes for Sonic again. he lunges his sharp hands right at his head, but Sonic manages to duck down, inches away from his face. But Metal Sonic quickly kicks Sonic away, flying back but skids on the ground from flying back further. Sonic smiles, soon curls into a ball, and Spin Dashes towards Metal Sonic. Metal Sonic dodges out of the way as Sonic misses him at first, but Sonic changes directions back at Metal Sonic and hits him from behind, knocking him. The hit causes Sonic to go airborne, which allows Mecha Sonic to grab Sonic in midair and throw him towards a wall. He catches him on the wall but quickly realizes Mecha Sonic is heading his way. As he jumps down, Mecha Sonic slams into the wall and makes a hole to the outside of the Lab.
"Hehehe! What's the matter, Sonic? Struggling against those two? They aren't even in their full power just yet!' Dr. Eggman mocking Sonic
"*Lands On The Ground* Heh~ This is getting more interesting than I thought. Hmm? *Looks And Notices The Teleporter In Front Of Him Currently Activated* So that's the teleporter Knuckles was talking about. And those are the seven emeralds as well..." Sonic commented
"Enjoying my new creation? With this, I can go to whatever world I please, where I can take control of them and build a new Empire to rule this one! You will never stop me, Sonic! NEVER! HOHOHOHOHOHOHO!" Dr. Eggman threatened
"I won't let you do that, Egghead! Not in a million years!" Sonic exclaimed
Metal Sonic dashes at Sonic once again. Sonic also runs towards Metal Sonic, and both clash head-to-head against each other. Both of them use their Speed in an attempt to overpower one another. The two were in stalemate until they both jumped away from each other, curled into balls and spin-dashing into each other. They soon bounced off every hard surface and hit each other. Dr. Eggman ducks as he watches the two messing up the Lab and breaks a few things.
"Hey! Watch where you two are going! You're going to break everything in here if you continue!" Dr. Eggman shouted
An explosion can be heard as Mecha Sonic uses a rocket to make a hole through the wall again and enter the Lab again. Sonic uncurls himself and hits the oncoming Metal Sonic with a Sonic Eagle straight to the ground. He notices Mecha Sonic as he fires a barrage of rockets directly toward him. He starts running around the Lab as the rockets explode behind him, causing tons of damage.
"What are you doing, you stupid robot?! I didn't program you to destroy my stuff!" Dr. Eggman shouted
"Sonic The Hedgehog must perish! Sonic The Hedgehog must perish!" Mecha Sonic repeated
He continues to fire rockets at Sonic while continuing to cause tons of damage inside the Lab as well. One of the rockets was directly heading toward Sonic, and he jumped over it and kicked it away from him soon after. Sonic didn't realize that the rocket was knocked toward the EggTeleporter, hit it, and exploded, causing the device to malfunction and slowly begin to pick up speed as things around the Lab were being sucked through it.
"Uh oh... This isn't good..." Sonic said
"Look what you did! Now everything is being sucked through that portal! *He Was Suddenly Picked And Was About To Be Sucked Into The Portal As Well, But He Grabs Hold Onto Something And Stops Himself Just In Time*" Eggman shouted
Mecha Sonic quickly flees and escapes from the Lab to prevent being sucked into the portal. On the other hand, Sonic was using his Speed to outrun the portal, slowly doing so.
"*Doing His Best Not To Be Sucked Into The Portal* Tch! I need to get out of here quick-"
Suddenly, Metal Sonic punches Sonic in the face, disrupting him, and he's blown away from Metal Sonic as the strong wind of the portal takes him directly towards it. Sonic desperately tries to find something that may stop him from getting sucked in but doesn't, as he soon gets sucked into the portal.
"WHOOOOOOOA!"
Once Sonic is sucked into the portal, the Chaos Emeralds all disappear from their original place on the teleporter as the portal dies down as the result of the Emeralds disappearing. Sonic was gone and nowhere in sight anymore.
*At A Unknown Location*
Sonic's eye slowly opened after being out cold from the fight and sucked into the portal. His vision was blurry as he continued to close and open his eyes for a while. Eventually, he slowly regained his sight and consciousness, looking around his surroundings to see what was happening. After some time, he realized he was no longer LabEggmanland nor inside the Lab. Instead, he was in the middle of a snowstorm in the middle of nowhere, with no sign of life or buildings for what seemed like miles. Sonic slowly stood up from the ground, covered in snow, and analyzed where he could be.
"... Just where the heck am I currently...? This isn't Eggmanland nor Ice Cap Zone... This is completely different..." Sonic commented
With nothing around him, he decides the only option is to start walking on a random path, only walking straight forward and not changing directions. For a good while, all he did was walk and walk with no sign of anything coming into view. It felt like it was an endless path that would eventually lead to nothing, from what Sonic thought. But he still kept on going.
"(Wherever I am right now... All I need to focus on right now is to look for shelter and ask someone that could be kind enough to help out a Hedeghog like me...)" Sonic thought
Thinking he will never find anything for a while. In a stroke of luck, far away from him, he notices an outline of a building standing in the middle of nowhere, protected by snowy mountains. Sonic's face lids up as he runs as fast as possible through the ever-increasing snow underneath him.
"Maybe I can get some answers in that building in the distances... But I got to hurry... I can feel my surroundings starting to be blocked by the snowstorm...!" Sonic commented
For a few minutes, Sonic runs toward the Direction of the building outline he spotted, not stopping for a second. As the minutes pass, the snowstorm gets more violent, and Sonic's vision becomes more difficult to see where he is going. However, the snowstorm was too much and soon blocked Sonic's vision entirely, losing the outline of the building as well. This forces Sonic to stop and think about what to do next now that he is lost again.
"Man... I dealt with snowy terrains before... But this one is unlike anything I've ever encountered... I can't even see where that building was spotted... Nor this place I'm currently in right now... I guess... The only thing to do is- *Gets Cut Off After Hearing Something From A Distance*"
"Welcome To The Data Center For The Future Of Of Humankind. This Is The Security Organization for the Preservation of Humanity, Chaldea."
Sonic notices multiple lights shining through the heavy snowfall in front of him. Sonic runs for a few minutes and reaches a massive building before him. Despite being relieved that he found some place of shelter, he still didn't see anyone, and there was no entrance even to enter the building.
"I finally made it... But what do I do now...? I don't see anyone around nor entrance to this place at all..." Sonic commented
Sonic looks around for a minute until he spots two figures not far from him, getting closer and closer by the second. Sonic took this opportunity to shout out for help at whoever the two figures were. Eventually, the two figures are more apparent as a young man and woman appear wearing jackets and spot Sonic standing before them.
"What the hell...?" The woman confused
"Interesting... I've never seen anything like this before... What could be...?" TheMann said
"Uh... It's not "This" but "him." Sonic commented
"It can talk?!" The woman shock
"Could it be like them who are just roaming around? Maybe we should take it in to see what it is." TheMann suggested
"I'm not a it! I'm a him!" Sonic stated
"And this weird-looking thing has an attitude as well. The likes of this thing will not shout me!" The woman exclaimed
"Ehehehe... It'll be alright, Director... Anyway, unknown creature, would you care to follow us? We promise we won't hurt you or anything." TheMann asks
"I'll do anything just to get out from the outside; I might start catching a cold..." Sonic replies
"I see... Follow us, and we'll give you a nice place to warm you up." TheMann stated
"Alright... I guess... *Looks At The Woman Who Gave Him A Weird And Concern Look On Her Face* (So much for warm welcomes...)" Sonic said
