"Welcome all to a brand new season!" shouted Chris as he is standing in front of an area that one hasn't seen before. It includes newly built cabins, a mess hall where a squirrel with Canadian bacon in its mouth runs out with Chef Hatchet chasing after it with a cleaver, washrooms and a bonfire ceremony that are exactly the same as the old ones along with the same confessional from the beginning of the series. It isn't Wawanakwa, Pahkitew Island or even a brand new island but rather somewhere on the Canadian mainland. "I'm your host Chris McLean where after a couple of lackluster seasons and a well received spin-off, we decided to up the ante." He explained wickedly. "24 new campers will be competing in challenges that reflect all things Canadian in a brand new location that used to be a filming location for the 80s show Camp Cariboo which is the Ontario Association Camp just outside Kitchener, Ontario." Chris said as footage of the opening to Camp Cariboo is played before cutting back to him. "The prize will once again be $1,000,000! Who will rise to the top and who will get their butts kicked? Find out on TOTAL! DRAMA! HERITAGE!" Chris shouted with glee.
It cuts to the intro where it begins with a spotlight rising up in front of a maple tree, another spotlight hanging down in front of some birch trees, a camera popping out of a burrow knocking down a gopher and another camera popping out of a cranberry bush knocking down a skunk. Then a clapperboard clamps down, and the camera starts moving through the Ontario Association Camp and past Chris, who is instructing the three surviving interns to fold the Canadian flag. It then goes down into the lake, where Tommy is seen underwater gasping for air trying to swim to the surface before getting caught in a net. It then pans up to the surface to reveal Lee who was the one who caught Tommy standing on a pontoon. Tommy emerges from the net where they both smile awkwardly. It then pans into the woods where Ian is with his camcorder filming his surroundings. Then someone taps Ian's shoulder from behind where he turns around. It pans out to reveal a bear which scares Ian who runs away with the bear chasing after him. It then pans out where a white beam comes down from behind a bush before it disappears. It is revealed to be Betty who emerges from the bush, only to run into Kale who scowls at her with Betty shrugging in embarrassment. The camera then goes further through the forest to where Sadie and Reanne at the top of a tree observing some animals with the former using binoculars. Then they both lose their balance and fall off where they land on Toby, who is sitting next to the tree reading a book about Canadian history, all in a heap. It cuts to Raven playing with skipping rope next to the confessional before Corey comes out of it with his guitar and performs a loud strum with the soundwave in the form of the word "STRUM" knocking Raven to the ground all tangled up in the skipping rope. Raven gets angry at this with Corey chuckling awkwardly.
The camera then moves over to Chef Hatchet's kitchen where he stirs a pot of food with a shoddy ladle. He then looks at Indie and Russell, who are at the counter where they both have bowls full of the food Chef is making. They take spoonfuls of it with both of them having difficulty swallowing it. They pretend that they enjoy it with Indie giving Chef an OK sign and Russell giving him a thumbs up sign, only for the two to turn away and spit all the food out. The camera pans over to Derek and Delilah at a nearby table where the former gives the latter a noogie. Delilah, not impressed, gives Derek a noogie in return which is more violent that she pulls him down to the floor. The camera moves out the window and pans over to Jen who is playing basketball at the court. She is about to shoot a hoop when Josie rides past her on her skateboard and flicks the basketball out of Jens hands causing it to bounce off. Jen gets annoyed at what Josie did. It cuts to Oliver who catches the basketball before he throws it from behind. It then cuts to Mimi who catches it before she throws it front of the screen. It then cuts to Franklin who catches it before he throws it to the left. It then cuts to Lauren who catches it before she throws it in the air. Finally, it cuts to Henry who catches it before he throws it to the right. The camera pans to Loonette who performs some ballet moves on the dock complete with tutu where she twirls before doing a graceful leap on the left and another on the right. Then, the basketball flies over and hits Loonette when doing her second leap which knocks her into the lake with a big splash. It then pans to the sky where the water from the splash covers it before it goes down to reveal a night sky. It pans down to show Jibber and Jabber at a campfire fighting over a butter tart. Then Chef comes by and takes the butter tart from them and eats it up. Jibber and Jabber watch in disbelief. The camera zooms out to show the rest of the contestants gathered in a circle around the fire while whistling the tune of "I Wanna Be Famous!" with Chris standing next to them. A wooden sign with "Total Drama Heritage" painted onto it is then seen, and the words flash briefly before the screen fades out.
Chris is standing at the same spot as before. "Welcome back as we wait for our first contestant." Chris said enthusiastically. A bus arrives to drop off the first contestant. Emerging from the entrance is a girl who has curly black hair in pigtails with freckles and a red nose, wearing a purple bowler hat, a light pink shirt with yellow suns and moons that all have faces with lavender on the collar and ends of the sleeves, hot pink overalls with lavender on the ends of the legs, black and white striped tights and black Mary Janes. She attempts to cartwheel her way out of the bus, but loses her balance with her left hand and instead tumbles out like a bowling ball, almost hitting Chris by just an inch. "Loonette!" Chris spoke with subtle contempt. "Hey Chris!" Loonette exclaimed enthusiastically as she proceeds to handshake him wildly. "Whoa there Loonie Girl, I'm not some wobbly inflatable clown!" Chris stammered with his hair all messy from Loonette's wild shaking. "This is gonna be real fun! Hi Molly." She said waving to the camera which soon turns to disappointment. "I'm sorry I couldn't bring you since the producers think you'll creep others out."
The next bus arrives to drop off the second contestant. Emerging is a green leg with red toes. "AAAAHHH! AN ALIEN!" screamed Loonette as she hides behind Chris. "Relax. This is Franklin." Chris reassured as the rest of the mysterious figure reveals an anthropomorphic turtle wearing a red kerchief and a red and blue cap with a blue and yellow sun. Loonette comes out from behind Chris to greet Franklin. "Hi, I thought you're an alien but you're a turtle." Loonette said sheepishly. "That's okay. It's all about first impressions. It is my first time around humans. They better not portray me as some freak." said Franklin as he turns to give Chris a stone cold glare.
The next bus arrives to drop off the third contestant. Emerging is a boy who has curtained blonde hair, wearing a grey unbuttoned shirt over a black t-shirt, beige pants and black sneakers with white laces. "Oliver! The resident history and science buff." said Chris. He looks around the campground to discover how shabby it is. "This place looks like it hasn't been renovated since 1979." said Oliver. "Ah, the facilities have only been implemented recently." said Chris.
The next bus arrives to drop off the fourth contestant. Emerging is a girl who has curly dark brown hair in a ponytail, wearing a patterned choker, a dark red long-sleeved shirt, dark grey cargo pants and black and silver sneakers. She already doesn't seem to be enjoying the experience. "The zine queen herself, Kale!" said Chris. Kale who isn't having any of Chris' royal patronizing walks past him to be with the other contestants already feeling grouchy before turning to face him. "You're only making this season Canadian themed so that much of the country's population can tune in to local content. Well you're obviously trying too hard to appease the content laws." she said begrudgingly.
The next bus arrives to drop off the fifth contestant. Emerging is a girl who has ginger hair in a bowl cut with freckles, wearing a silver oversized beaded necklace, a blue and green dress with some yellow resembling a hockey jersey and shoes that match her dress' former two colours. "Say hello to Mimi." said Chris. "Hi there." said Mimi happily before she waves to the other contestants. "And hello to all of you." She then walks over to join the others with a sunny disposition. "This is going to be a great advent..." Mimi's statement is cut short when she comes across Kale scowling right at her, Mimi's cheeriness instantly dissipated. "Well looks like someone just got up on the wrong side of the bed." said Mimi nervously. "And looks like someone has been watching too many feel good movies." scoffed Kale. "Hey girls, put your newfound rivalry aside as here comes our next contestant." called Chris.
The next bus arrives to drop off the sixth contestant. Emerging is a boy who has shoulder length black hair, wearing a blue toque with a white ring, a yellow t-shirt with stripes on the sleeves, blue jeans and white snow boats. "Hailing from the country's far north, Tommy!" said Chris. "Well this will be my first time staying outside Upyermukluk for multiple weeks." said Tommy. "Multiple weeks!" exclaimed Chris. "This is Total Drama. You might be the first to go." "Yeah I know." said Tommy "I'll especially be missing Yvon." "Who's Yvon?" asked Franklin. The others are enthusiastic to know who he is. "Well Yvon Ducharme is a crazed Frenchman who was frozen in the Canadian Arctic for over 300 years when attempting to colonize North America for King Louis and his homeland. My dog, Mutt peed on the ice block with him inside while I was out on my skidoo causing him to break free and ever since we've been going on wild adventures." Tommy explained. However Kale didn't seem amused by Tommy's story. "Oh really, because that's totally false as Yvon would've already died within seconds." Kale stated. "Well this is an unbelievably true story. Just you wait and see." Tommy said snidely.
The next bus arrives to drop off the seventh contestant. Emerging is a boy who has brown hair, wearing a green t-shirt with a yellow stripe around it, blue cuffed jeans and green Converse shoes. "Henry! The boy who wishes up a storm." said Chris."Been eating your mushy carrots?" he asked Henry in an infantilizing tone. "Hey I'm only 8!" snapped Henry as the others giggle about it. "If only I can wish people to stop babying me." he muttered as he joins the rest of the contestants.
The next bus arrives to drop off the eighth contestant. Emerging is a boy who has combed brown hair, wearing rectangular glasses, a green grey t-shirt, beige cargo shorts, white socks and tan and black sneakers. "Toby! Computer geek and diehard otaku." said Chris."The good thing about this is that I'll be spending time away from my stepsister Ashley." said Toby sinisterly. "Well I'm sure your time staying here will be a lot more miserable than back home." said Chris in an equally sinister tone. "Well I don't care." Toby said with stride as he joins the other contestants who are all impressed at his comeback with Chris displaying a stunned looked on his face.
The next bus arrives to drop off the ninth contestant. Emerging is a girl who has long ginger hair, wearing two matching colourful necklaces, a pink hoodie zipped open, a dark purple T-shirt that displays the word "Anarchy", blue embroided jeans and black and red sneakers. "Josie! Skateboarding enthusiast and member of the Science Club at Blake Holsey High." said Chris. Josie didn't say a word as she just walked past Chris to meet the other contestants. "Aren't you gonna say something." asked Chris. "Wow that's a cool skateboard!" Tommy said all awestruck at Josie's skateboard. "Yeah I skateboard in my spare time when not learning about the mysteries behind the school." said Josie.
The next bus arrives to drop off the tenth contestant. Emerging is a girl who has blue braided hair, wearing red cat's eye glasses, a purple top, green pants and purple and red platform shoes. "Reanne! Free spirit who loves to see the good in everyone." said Chris."I just love summer camp." said Reanne "It gets me in touch with mother nature." "Yet mother nature will eventually turn on you." stated Chris.
The next bus arrives to drop off the eleventh contestant. Emerging is a boy who has light brown hair, wearing a red t-shirt that with a crown, blue jeans slightly rolled up and white sneakers. He is also wearing a crown similar to the one on his t-shirt though only the front truly resembles a crown as the back of it is just a band. "Russell! Who thinks he lives a life of royalty." said Chris. "Aren't you a bit old to play king." chided Josie. "Well actually, the producers told me to wear it because apparently it makes me look a lot more photogenic." Russell said feeling embarrassed.
The next bus arrives to drop off the twelfth contestant. Emerging is a girl who has red hair in a ponytail with a green headband, wearing a yellow sweater with some green over a white dress shirt, a pink bracelet on her left wrist that resembles a watch, a green skirt, white socks and black and white saddle shoes. "Betty! Athletic powerhouse who dreams of living in outer space." said Chris. "Oh. You dream of going into outer space so you can fight aliens." assumed Russell. "What are you talking about?" Betty asked in bit of a frenzy as she did want her double life as a Galactic Guardian to be exposed. "Oh no, I don't dream of it to fight aliens no. I just dream of working for NASA." "NASA seems like a huge passion and reason for it." said Oliver which helped calm Betty down.
The next bus arrives to drop off the thirteenth contestant. Emerging is a girl who has long auburn hair, wearing a periwinkle hoodie over a white top, a white skirt with two lavender stripes on each side, blue socks and white slip-on shoes. "Jen! Part-time employee at The Penalty Box." said Chris. "What exactly is The Penalty Box?" asked Loonette. "It's a sporting goods store that is what's supposed to be my dream job come true, but is in fact somewhat of a nightmare if you actually work there." said Jen. "You could've easily figured it out since it is rife with sporting terminology, The Penalty Box getting its name from the area used in hockey for players committing offences not severe enough for expulsion that is also used in the store for employees not severe enough to be fired." Loonette blushed as she is completely unfamiliar with hockey compared to the other contestants who knew what Jen meant since hockey is Canada's national pastime.
The next bus arrives to drop off the fourteenth contestant. Emerging is a girl who has black hair in pigtails resembling the wings of a raven, wearing an aquamarine long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. "Straight from the reserve, Raven!" said Chris. "You're from a reserve?" Mimi asked awkwardly. "This seems to be the first time you ever met someone from there along with everyone else except for you." said Raven pointing to Tommy. "Who me?" said Tommy flabbergasted. "I've spent my whole life living in a town in the Yukon. Besides, I'm Inuk and Inuit along with Metis don't hold reserve land unlike First Nations such as you." "Well I'm Cree myself so that's understandable." said Raven.
The next bus arrives to drop off the fifteenth contestant. Emerging is a boy who has spiky blonde hair, wearing large glasses, a green jacket, blue shorts with orange pockets and red high top sneakers with white laces. He also has a camcorder where he is filming his surroundings, not paying attention to what's going on. "Future filmmaker, Ian!" said Chris. Ian was too busy still filming. "Uh dude if you gonna keep using that, I'm gonna have to confiscate it since I don't want you recording spoilers." Chris said annoyed. Ian took his eye off the camcorder and saw Chris staring at him. "Oh sorry, I was just zoned out." Ian said sheepishly as he turned off his camcorder. He then walks to join the others. "If you dream of being a filmmaker, then I bet you dream of winning an Oscar." said Oliver. "Well that's my top priority." said Ian enthusiastically. "I'm into science and I dream of winning a Nobel Prize." said Oliver confidently. "Cool!" exclaimed Ian.
The next bus arrives to drop off the sixteenth contestant yet the camera withholds who the contestant is, only showing Chris. "Everybody, Sadie!" said Chris. The other contestants assumed he is referring to one half of the BFFs. "No, not that Sadie. Sadie Hawthorne, aspiring naturalist and Jane Goodall fangirl!" Chris said. The camera pans out to reveal a girl who has long strawberry blonde hair, wearing a blue and black striped long-sleeved polo shirt with a white collar, a black watch on her right wrist, blue jeans and black sneakers with white laces. She appears embarrassed by the comparison. "I'm nothing like her or her "BFF" Katie who also shares the name of one of my cousins I met once." said Sadie. "Well you're different enough from her." said Mimi. "Thanks." Sadie said, her dignity being restored.
The next bus arrives to drop off the seventeenth contestant. Emerging is a girl who has short dark brown hair, wearing a black long-sleeved shoulderless turtleneck sweater, a grey undershirt, khaki cargo pants and olive green high top shoes. "Hey there, Delilah!" said Chris suavely. "Hey there Chris." said Delilah sarcastically. "She is a special agent at The Academy who is a full-on renaissance girl, being a master at fencing, various martial arts, etiquette, music and explosives." explained Chris. All of the boys except for Franklin and Oliver were fawning over her as she walks past. "Wow, she's like the protagonist of an action movie. She's my ideal lead!" gushed Ian. "She's like the heroines in the adventure computer games I play!" squeed Toby. "She's like a human Swiss Army Knife!" babbled Tommy. "Oh she's already developed a testosterone brigade." said Sadie all dumbfounded. "With a little bit of estrogen." chided Russell at the side pointing to Kale all giddy about Delilah, her moodiness evaporating. "You seem so sycophantic about me." said Delilah. "Well I like you already. I mean I'm not in love with you, you see I'm straight." stammered Kale. "Well I'm straight too." said Delilah. "You already make a great challenge asset. You're like the sister I never had." said Kale. "Well okay." Delilah said all confused.
The next bus arrives to drop off the eighteenth contestant. Emerging is a boy who has dark brown hair, wearing a brown jacket over a white long-sleeved polo shirt with brown on the top front and lower halves of the sleeves along with an orange stripe and silver stripe below the brown top front as well as black pin stripes, grey pants and dark brown high top sneakers. "Derek, my man!" said Chris with the two giving each other a top and down. "Glad to be in the game Chris because I am head honcho of the Venturi-McDonald household." boasted Derek. As Derek walks to join the other contestants, a foul smell trails behind him, grossing them out. "Ugh, what's that smell?" groaned Jen. "That's my hockey bag." smirked Derek. "I'm not going to wash it because it gives me good luck and washing it would wash away all the luck it has." "I would rather live with Jonesy than live with the "head honcho"." Jen muttered using air quotes.
The next bus arrives to drop off the nineteenth contestant. Emerging is a girl who has long light brown hair, wearing earrings resembling the letter O, a heart shaped locket, a brown and navy blue paisley patterned short-sleeved shirt over a thin white long-sleeved hoodie, blue calf length jeans and grey closed in sandals. "Lauren, who happens to spend her whole life at a summer camp." said Chris. "I'm one of the counsellors for Dinosaur Explorer Camp." said Lauren. "That means with the experience, I will fare better. Plus I got to see dinosaurs." "Yeah right." mocked Kale. "Well I believe her since if being cryogenically frozen is possible, then so can humans witnessing dinosaurs." said Tommy. Lauren smiled at Tommy for backing up her claim.
The next bus arrives to drop off the twentieth and twenty-first contestants. Emerging are a pair of fraternal twin boys. One has black hair raised up, wearing a red t-shirt with a rectangle along with the collar and ends of the sleeves all in white, blue shorts with two white stripes on each side, red socks and black and white high top sneakers. The other has slicked parted ginger hair, wearing a green t-shirt with a stripe along with the collar and ends of the sleeves all in yellow, dark green cargo pants and yellow sneakers. Both of them are still at the entrance fighting over who should get out of the bus first. "I'm getting out of the bus first!" said the black haired twin. "No, I'm getting out of the bus first!" said the ginger haired twin. The twins kept bickering back and forth with the other contestants and especially Chris quickly getting bored. "If you boys can't decide who should step out first, then I'll pull both of you out at once." Chris said as he pulled both of them out of the bus' entrance by their wrists where both of them screamed until Chris put them on the ground and let them go. "Jibber and Jabber, a rambunctious pair with big imaginations who enjoy getting a rise out of their older sister." said Chris. "Which one is who?" asked Reanne. "I'm Jibber and I'm the strong one." said the black haired twin. "I'm Jabber and I'm the smart one." said the ginger haired twin. The two put their hands on the other's shoulders. "We like to go on adventures." they said in unison. "Yeah and cause mayhem." said Delilah. Jibber and Jabber burst out laughing not taking Delilah's statement about terrorizing Jessica seriously. She rolls her eyes.
The next bus arrives to drop off the twenty-second contestant. Emerging is a girl who has long black hair with the top slicked back, wearing purple elliptical earrings, a blue denim shirt over a beige top in various splattered shades that is over a teal patterned undershirt, a silver bracelet, a teal, white and black plaid pleated miniskirt, pink tights and black fringed boots. "Indie! Who loves giving out instructions." said Chris. "I'm just here to spend time away from my family, especially my mom. You can't boss me now!" Indie said proudly. The other contestants applauded her for her rebellion towards the rest of the Mehtas. "Can it!" called Chris, the applause ceasing. "Your family may not be around to boss you around but I and much of the crew can so don't count on it." Indie screamed with her teeth clenched shut running to join the rest.
The next bus arrives to drop off the twenty-third contestant. Emerging is a boy who has combed hair with spikes at the back where the top is dyed red and the back left in its natural black state, wearing a green popped polo shirt over a black t-shirt with a faded green neck, a fire trigram tattoo on his left upper arm, dark green jeans and light brown high top sneakers. "Lee, straight-A student except for gym." said Chris."Well I've been improving on my athleticism." said Lee as he walks to join the other contestants. "Wow, you look so cool." said Tommy. "Thanks since I don't identify with any cliques where people think I'm somewhat of a loser because of this." said Lee. "Well that's what makes you cool because you choose to stand on your own two feet." Tommy said. Lee gives Tommy a shaka. Tommy gives one back to Lee.
The last bus arrives to drop off the final contestant. Emerging is a boy who has blue hair, wearing a burnt orange toque with a white skull that resembles the one that Duncan has on his shirt, a long-sleeved shirt where the torso area is black while the collar, sleeves and bottom part are white with the right half tucked in and the left half untucked, burnt orange cargo shorts, white socks of uneven length and blue sneakers. He is also carrying a red and gradient orange electric guitar. "Corey, frontman of the sensation from Peaceville that is Grojband!" said Chris. "And I'll make this season an epic rocking blast!" said Corey as he strums his guitar so hard and loud that the soundwaves produced from it forming the word "STRUM" causes the rest of the contestants to fall down in a heap feeling all dizzy. "Whoa, I feel lightheaded." moaned Raven. "Me too." mumbled Henry. "Uh now's not the time to rock on." said Chris as he touches Corey's shoulder. "Well anyway now that everyone's here, let's all go to the flagpole… once most of them get back on their feet and their minds stabilized."
The contestants are standing together while Chris is standing next to a flagpole. "Campers, for this season you'll be competing in challenges that reflects Canada's culture, history, identity and of course heritage." Chris explained. "Well the whole thing kind of feels tacky." said Russell all skeptical. "Yeah and it feels like you're shoving nationalism down people's throats." said Jen. "We're Canadian without even proving it." said Corey. "Come on guys, it's an opportunity to help instil pride in this nation rather than just constantly suck up to our southern neighbour." said Ian. "Dude's got a point." said Chris. "Back to the topic, you'll be staying several weeks at what is the Ontario Association Camp just outside Kitchener, Ontario known for being the filming location for a cult 80s show called Camp Cariboo." The contestants are all silent, none of whom are familiar with the show that celebrates Canada's camping culture. "Oh, you haven't heard of it?" asked Chris. "Like no." Josie said all sullen with her arms crossed. "Well that's a shame then." Chris said all disappointed that no one has any knowledge of it. Then his mood suddenly changed to euphoria. "How about you all stand for the national anthem." said Chris. "We're already standing." said Indie. "Whatever." mocked Chris. "Interns, flag!" called Chris as the chubby intern and female intern arrive in a hurry with the Canadian flag. "Chef, music!" he called again as Chef walks over with a CD player. Chef then presses the play button but instead of O Canada playing, an instrumental version of Stuck to a Pole plays. Chris is not amused. "No not that one!" snapped Chris. Chef then presses the skip button while muttering incoherently. The next track is indeed O Canada where it starts playing. The contestants begin to sing while the interns start to hoist the flag. "O Canada!" Raven sang nervously. "Our home and native land!" Delilah sang with powerful pipes. "True patriot love…" Jibber sang through burping. "…in all of us command." Jabber sang also burping it. "With glowing hearts we see thee rise." Tommy sang apathetically. "The True North strong and free." Kale sang also apathetically. "From far and wide, O Canada…" Loonette sang enthusiastically in an over the top fashion. "…we stand on guard for thee." Lee sang casually. "God keep our land…" Sadie sang in a reserved tone. "…glorious and free!" Mimi sang her heart out. "O Canada, we stand on guard for thee!" Oliver sang candidly. "O Canada, we stand on guard for thee!" Jen sang like she is standing on a medal podium, having won gold at the Olympics. As the song finishes, the contestants all noticed that the interns had raised the flag upside down. Some of the contestants such as Tommy laughed at it while others such as Kale felt embarrassed. Chris himself isn't happy. "Hey! You were meant to hoist it right side up!" yelled Chris. "You know raising it upside down is a huge insult to this great land." The interns walked away whistling, not wanting to face Chris' wrath.
(Confession cam)
Kale: "It's already going to be embarrassing to many Canadians. The beaver hour has turned into the beaver season."
(Static)
Tommy: "I don't know, this whole thing reeks of maplewashing."
(End confession cam)
Chris is still upset after the interns hoisted the flag upside down. "I'm afraid we don't have time to do it again by getting it right this time." fumed Chris. "Like that's a big deal. I thought it was hilarious" said Derek. "Don't get smart with me." said Chris who is not amused by Derek's remark before shifting back to his professional approach. "Alright next up, you're all gonna go into the woods to find a wooden token." "What sort of token?" asked Betty. "I can't tell you. You gonna have to find out for yourselves. There are 24 scattered throughout with 12 each on opposing sides" explained Chris. "Boys, you will search on the left. Girls, you will search on the right. Now start searching." said Chris as the contestants go to search for their tokens with the boys going to the woods on the left and the girls going to the woods on the right. "So, what sort of tokens are they and which ones will they get. Find out after this short break." said Chris as the screen fades to black.
Franklin is walking in the woods when he spots a green wooden moose token moving onto something in the distance. "Hey come back here!" called Franklin as he chases after the moving token. It then stops near a bush. Franklin goes to the bush to grab the token. As he does, he felt a few jabs on his hand. "Yowww!" screamed Franklin as he pulls his hand up to reveal a few quills stuck to it in addition to the moose token. Out from behind the bush is a porcupine who laughs at Franklin's misfortune. "Ha ha ha very funny." Franklin said with sarcastic fury.
Kale is walking in the woods when she spots a red wooden beaver token on top of a grey ovoid that resembles a wrapped up football hanging from a tree. She runs over to get the token but when she grabs it, her quickness causes the ovoid to fall off the branch. Kale soon discovers that the ovoid is in fact a hornet's nest as a swarm of them come flying out of it. "HORNETS!" screamed Kale as she flees with the hornets chasing after her.
Toby is walking in the woods when he spots a green wooden moose token perched on a rock on top of a waterfall in the middle. He thinks about how he'll get it when he spots a tree next to him. Toby stretches the top of the tree down. He then flings it up like a pole vault where he goes over the waterfall and approaches the rock. Toby then stretches his arm out as far as he can to grab the token where he barely manages to do it. Then the tree flings back to where it was. "Whoaaahh!" screamed Toby as he lands on the river bank with a thud. He then sits back up and opens his hand to reveal he still has the moose token. He smiles.
Henry is walking in the woods when he spots a skunk straining too hard. He walks slowly over to it. "What's wrong little buddy?" asked Henry nervously. The skunk points at his butt. "Oh you got something stuck in your butt." he said. The skunk nods profusely. He picks up the skunk and points its butt at a tree. "Well here goes." said Henry as he gives the skunk a gentle slap on its back. The force of it was enough for the skunk to let out a big stink and also a green wooden moose token which hits the tree, bounces back and lands into Henry's palm though it is drenched in the skunk's stink. Henry puts the skunk down where it walks away, happy that its lower end has been unclogged. He then takes a look at the moose token but is put off by the skunk odour. "Uggh! Pew!" exclaimed Henry.
Reanne is walking in the woods when she spots a green wooden moose token at the end of a tree branch. She goes over and climbs the tree where she makes her way to the branch. Reanne then crawls slowly across the branch and tries to reach for the moose token. "Come to mama." said Reanne all determined. She then manages to swipe it. "Ha!" exclaimed Reanne all victorious. Then, she feels a slight rattle. Suddenly, the branch collapses. "Ahhhh!" screamed Reanne as she falls to the ground.
Russell is walking in the woods when he walks past a tree hollow before he stops and a takes a few steps back to it. He then peers into the hollow and puts his hand in it. Russell then pulls it out to reveal a red wooden beaver token. Suddenly, a squirrel comes flying out of the hollow and lands on him running all over his body. "Aggh! Get it off me! Get it off me!" screamed Russell as he tries to get the squirrel off him, but it is too fast.
Tommy is walking in the woods when he spots a cave. He then walks inside of it, continuing to walk before he comes across a red wooden beaver token. "Gotcha!" said Tommy as he quickly grabs it. Then from behind him, he hears a sniff that touches his back and then a growl. Tommy turns around before having a horrified look on his face. It then cuts to the exterior of the cave. "Ahhhhhhhhh!" screamed Tommy as he races out of the cave in fear. What is scaring him is revealed to be a grizzly bear pursuing after him.
Betty is walking in the woods when she spots a raccoon playing with a red wooden beaver token. Knowing that raccoons are dangerous especially when Penelope attempted to have one as a pet to replace her late cat Poopsie, Betty thinks of a plan to get the token safely when she spots an acorn next to her. She picks it up and slowly walks over to the raccoon. "You want this acorn?" asked Betty. The raccoon stops playing with the token and looks at the acorn in Betty's hand. "Well open wide." she said. The raccoon opens its mouth wide and Betty throws the acorn in its mouth, dropping the token in the process. Betty quickly picks up the token and runs off. The raccoon is too busy enthusiastically munching on the acorn to notice. Betty laughs very happily as she runs, pleased that it was a lot easier than she thought.
Ian is walking in the woods when he spots a green wooden moose token on top of a bush. "Bingo!" exclaimed Ian. He soon learns that it's no ordinary bush, but a poison ivy bush. "Oh not again." groaned Ian as this has happened to him before with regards to the treasure hunt prank he pulled on his brothers.

Sadie then shakes it causing the grub to fall off and land on the web which gets the spider's attention where it crawls towards the grub and devours it. She gently slides the leaf under the token, freeing both it and her hand. Sadie drops the leaf and walks off.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" screamed Jen as she touches the caribou's head before letting it go where it then turns to slow motion before she starts to jump with her legs spread out wide. Jen then soars over the caribou managing to not make contact with his antlers. The caribou watches in disbelief as to how she managed to outwit him. She then lands on her feet where it turns back to normal time before snatching the token from the stump. The caribou approaches Jen and gives her a hand shake. He raises his left arm out, his right arm in the air, his right leg raised up and his left leg bended. "Hy-yahhhhhhhhhhhh!" Jibber yelled as he swipes the token, narrowly missing getting bitten by the opossum a second time. It then cuts back to the real world. The opossum walks away all humiliated. "That went well." said Jibber as he chucks the token in the air and back onto his hand.

Then she ends up accidentally picking up one of the salmon where she has difficulty holding it because it is too wet before it slips out of her hands. The salmon splashes back into the river so hard, it causes the token to fly out of the river and into Indie's hands. "Yay! Thank you salmon!" squealed Indie all happy that at least one of the run actually cared to help her get the token. She puts the loon down and takes a look at it. "Ewwww!" exclaimed Raven. She washes what the loon coughed up in the lake and discovers that it's a green wooden moose token. "Nice." said Raven. "Whoaaaaaa!" screamed Lee as the bald eagle flies around in random directions in the sky due to his large body mass. Lee then snatches the token out of the bald eagle's claws. Corey pulls very hard and then out comes a green wooden moose token that is also held by a gopher. The gopher growls at Corey. "This is all mine." said Corey snidely. Then, they get into a scuffle over who gets the token. "I was meant to get it." fumed Corey while the gopher makes squeaks angrily which translates to "This is personal property." Then Corey comes up with an idea. "How about we settle this with an air guitar battle. Winner gets the token." suggested Corey. The two stop fighting. The gopher squeaks in agreement and places the token on the ground between it and Corey. The gopher strums its air guitar passionately. Corey then strums his air guitar with fiery precision. The gopher then strums with aggressive inflections. Corey then strums with enhanced intensity before making three successive riffs that produce the word "STRUM" each time that hits the gopher with the last one knocking it down. "Ha! I won!" boasted Corey as he picks up the token. "It seems that you're not as musically gifted as me." The gopher gets up from the ground, throws its paws out in defeat and walks back to its burrow. Corey then runs off celebrating.
Loonette is walking in the woods when a green wooden moose token tied to some rope hanging from a branch hits her face. "Ow!" she exclaimed. Then she realizes what it is. She unties the token while yanking the branch. "Got it!" said Loonette once the token is completely untied. Then, all of a sudden, the tree starts to fall down. "Ahhh!" she screamed as she scrambles out of the tree's way. It hits the ground with a large thump. Loonette laughs and smiles awkwardly before she slowly slides backwards away from the site.
The contestants all race back to the flagpole area where Chris is still standing. Some of them came back looking different from when they went into the woods. Franklin still has porcupine quills on his hand, Kale has hornet stings all over her face, Henry's token still stinks from all that skunk pee, Russell's hair is all messy and his crown tilted from the squirrel attack, Ian has poison ivy sores all over his body, Oliver's toes on his left foot are swelling, Josie's hair is all messy and has some Canada goose feathers in it, Jabber is all wet and Derek is also wet, but from swamp water. "Alright now that you've found your tokens, go to the mat that corresponds to its colour." said Chris pointing at two mats behind the contestants; a green mat on the left and a red mat on the right. Corey, Franklin, Henry, Ian, Lauren, Loonette, Mimi, Oliver, Raven, Reanne, Sadie and Toby run to the green mat while Betty, Delilah, Derek, Indie, Jabber, Jen, Jibber, Josie, Kale, Lee, Russell and Tommy run to the red mat. They then wondered what the purpose of the tokens are. "What is the whole point of the tokens." asked Toby. "Well, welcome to your new teams." The newfound teams celebrated with Jibber and Jabber especially happy that they're on the same team giving each other a high five. "Those standing on the left, you are known as The Merciless Moose." said Chris as it cuts to a symbol spinning to the front of the screen which stops to reveal a green angry looking moose facing the right on a light yellow circle with a border in the same colour as the moose. "Those standing on the right, you are known as The Barbaric Beavers." said Chris as it cuts to a symbol spinning to the front of the screen which stops to reveal a red beaver with its mouth wide open facing the left on a circle also in light yellow with a border in the same colour as the beaver. "What do we do with these?" asked Jibber holding up his token. "You all get to keep them as a memento of your time here." said Chris. "Now it's time for you campers to settle in your cabins." It cuts to the cabins. "Moose cabin is in the west, Beaver cabin is in the east." explained Chris cutting back to him. Then, he gets put off by the stench coming from Henry's token. "And somebody wash Henry's token with tomato juice." he groaned as the other contestants also get disgusted by it with Jabber throwing up.
At the boys side of the Moose cabin, Henry and Toby play Paper, Scissors, Rock to determine who gets top bunk. Henry draws rock while Toby draws paper. "I win." said Toby who climbs up to the top bunk. Henry doesn't care as he settles with the bottom bunk. Corey runs towards the bunk bed across from Henry and Toby's. "Top bunk is all mine!" said Corey as he jumps up high and lands on the top bunk only for it to collapse and crush the bottom bunk. Corey looks at Franklin who is standing nearby. "Looks like you won't be getting a bunk." said Corey feeling bad. "It's no big deal as I can just sleep in my shell." Franklin said reassuring Corey. It goes over to Ian and Oliver who are deciding on who should get which bunk. "I feel you should take top bunk since it will be like filming aerial shots while I take bottom as my room back home is practically in the basement." said Oliver. "Thanks Oliver." said Ian "I feel we make a great pair." Ian climbs to the top bunk while Oliver goes to lie on the bottom bunk.
At the girls side of the Moose cabin, Lauren unpacks at the bottom bunk while Loonette attempts to climb up the top bunk above her but is having difficulty doing so. It goes over to Reanne who is relaxing on the top bunk and Raven who is trying to push her duffel bag on the bottom bunk. Then, Mimi comes along. "I'll help you with that." said Mimi offering Raven to help push the bag up. "I'm fine doing it on my own besides it's not that heavy anyway." said Raven. "Well okay then." said Mimi all disappointed. Then, she spots Loonette still struggling to climb up the top bunk and walks over to her."I'll help push you up." she said as she is about to push Loonette up. "I can manage." said Loonette who succeeds in making it to the top. A hand grabs Mimi's wrist and pulls her away. The person doing it is revealed to be Sadie who seems concerned about Mimi meddling into other people's affairs. "Mimi you got to stop "helping" others when it is not needed." said Sadie. "I just want to make the lives of others much better for them." said Mimi. "Only help out others when it's absolutely necessary. You're act like a hamster and you even look like one." Sadie said. "I like the hamster comparison." Mimi said chuckling. "Well I often enjoy comparing the behaviours of human individuals to animals." said Sadie. "Well you're just like one of my friends back home Elaine." said Mimi. "And you're just like one of my friends back home Margaret." said Sadie. "Hey girls, check this out." said Lauren. All the other female members of the Moose walk over to her. Lauren is holding up her sketch of Eno. "Wow a dinosaur with feathers on its head. That's some imagination you got there." Mimi said. "This is Eno. It's a he and he's actually real." Lauren said. "Never knew dinosaurs can be this flamboyant." said Reanne. "Feather headed dinosaurs do seem unusual but very likely real." said Sadie. "Thank you for supporting my claims." said Lauren all cheerful.
At the boys side of the Beaver cabin, Derek runs over to one of the bunk beds. "Dibs top bunk!' called Derek as he scrambles up the top bunk. Russell walks over there and sits on the bottom bunk. "Well I guess I'll be settling with bottom." said Russell gracefully as it reminds him of Under. It goes over to Jibber and Jabber who are arguing over who gets top bunk. "I'm getting top bunk!" said Jibber. "No, I'm getting top bunk!" said Jabber. They kept going back and forth until Lee comes to settle the score. "Alright, which one of you is more likely to experience vertigo?" asked Lee. Jabber points to Jibber. "It's settled then. Jabber gets top, Jibber gets bottom." said Lee. "Oh yeah!" exclaimed Jabber. "No fair." whined Jibber. "Do you seriously want to fall out and hurt yourself?" asked Lee. "No." Jibber responded, now accepting the matter. "Now you understand." Lee said as he walks over to his own bunk where Tommy is sitting on the bottom one. Lee sits down with him. "You know I've been going on adventures back home with a Frenchman named Yvon Ducharme who had been frozen for three centuries. He is so out of his mind." said Tommy. "Well that's interesting because I spent a whole year in detention and being grounded for a whole year because of a prank I didn't commit though I eventually found out the culprit and led to a smorgasbord of mysteries behind the school." said Lee. "Well the strangeness in our lives just makes us pull closer." Tommy said. "It does." Lee said as the two continue bonding.
At the girls side of the Beaver cabin, Kale slowly walks over to the bunk where Delilah is unpacking. "Uh can I share a bunk with you?" asked Kale awkwardly. "Yeah sure. I'll take the top bunk and you take the bottom bunk." said Delilah. "Sweet!" exclaimed Kale smiling madly. Josie, Jen, Betty and Indie all look at her in bewilderment. "What's up with her?"asked Jen. "Maybe she's into folks with a sense of action." said Indie. "I'm getting bored already." said Josie as she turns to the lower bunk behind her, puts her belongings to the side and plops on the bed. "Well if you've chose bottom, then that means I get top." Jen said as she climbs up the top bunk. "I'm going with bottom as I don't want to spew if I sleep on top." said Indie walking over to the last remaining bunk. "Cool because I really want to sleep on a top bunk." said Betty who rather than just climb up the top bunk, she crouches down and makes a huge leap there instead to the surprise of the other female members of the Beavers, especially Indie. "How did you do it?" asked Indie. "As Chris said, I'm an athletic powerhouse." said Betty. It cuts to the PA outside. "Campers, lunch will be served in a short while." announced Chris over the PA.
At the mess hall, the contestants are all lined up waiting for their meals to be served. Next to them are two tables each with a mounted animal head above them. The one on the left has a green tablecloth with a mounted moose head that is reserved for The Merciless Moose. The one on the right has a red tablecloth with a mounted beaver head that is reserved for The Barbaric Beavers. Russell, curious about the mounted head for his team, runs out of the line and is about to touch it on his tip toes when a voice shouts out "HEY DON'T TOUCH!" It is revealed to be Chef who shouted it, having just emerged from the kitchen. "End of the line for you!" ordered Chef. Russell steps away from the beaver head and goes to the end of the line. "Now I'll serve your first meal." said Chef. Sadie, who is the first in line, puts her tray on the counter. Chef puts a bowl of fish and brewis with a spoon and a small bowl of scrunchions on her tray. The fish and brewis is very smelly that has fish heads that are apparently still alive as one of them blinks while the scrunchions have hairs and a pig's tail. Chef then pours Sadie a cup of bagged milk that is expired since it's got lumps in them where he also puts it on her tray. She does not like the meal one bit. "You know I'm a vegetarian plus I get put off by those animal trophies." said Sadie pointing at the mounted animal heads. "Me too." said Reanne who is behind her. "Well too bad!" snarled Chef. "Either you eat what's given or don't bother!"
(Confession cam)
Sadie: "This is the first time I'm surrounded by dead animals or animals that appear to be dead but aren't."
(End confession cam)
The teams are sitting at their tables; most of the contestants are trying to eat their meals while at least two of them flat out refused due to their resistance to eating meat. At the Moose table, Sadie and Reanne pushed their meals away. "I would rather starve to death than eat this no matter how it's prepared." groaned Reanne. "You can say that again." said Sadie. "Well I'm certainly enjoying this." said Corey who is happily scarfing down all that chow. The two stared in disbelief. "Gross." said Reanne. At the Beaver table Josie is studying Derek's appearance. "You remind me of someone." said Josie. "What do you mean?" asked Derek all puzzled with cod and hard tack in his mouth. "You look like one of my friends at school who is a member of The Science Club like me except he's more academically inclined. His name is Lucas." Derek doesn't seem fazed by this. "Lucas Schmucas. I don't spend my time burying my nose in studies." he mocked. "Alright I won't bring this up again." said Josie nonchalantly. Then, a beeping sound is heard. "What's that sound?" asked Kale. The Beavers learn that it's coming from Betty's bracelet. Betty starts to feign sickness. "Oh! I'm just gonna go to the washrooms to vomit. That meal is nasty." said Betty fake groaning while clutching her stomach. "Well the food is subpar quality courtesy of Chef." said Delilah."What are you waiting for? Go." said Lee. Betty stands up and runs out of the mess hall. "This food is kind of like the snacks we make." said Jibber. "Yeah, it's actually delectable." said Jabber."Attention campers! Your first challenge will begin in a few minutes. I suggest you finish off your lunch." shouted Chris through a megaphone outside. "Ha saved by the megaphone." snarked Sadie, happy that she never got to eat her meal. The same goes with Reanne. The contestants, sans Betty, all run out of the mess hall to go to their first challenge. Then Chris comes on screen. "Oh looks like we're out of time, but stayed tuned because there are still gonna be a lot more surprises along the way. Find out on the next episode of TOTAL! DRAMA! HERITAGE!" Chris said.
