Chapter 1

Izuku POV

Hi. My name's Izuku Yagi. When I was four, my life changed. I was a happy, energetic and curious child. I went everywhere with my sister and our friends, and had some amazing and doting parents.

To me, it felt like I had everything I could ever want. The only thing left was a quirk so I could be a hero.

And that's where my real story begins. In the waiting room of the local doctors office, me, my sister and my mother were waiting for the doctor to call us back for our quirk exam.

A short man with round glasses and a scruffy mustache walked out into the waiting room, looking at his clipboard. "Midoriya family?"

We got up and my sister and I rushed to the room where we were going to be examined, excited to learn what we were going to get.

After the examination, Izumi and I were waiting in a side room with mom. The doctor came in and sat down in front of us. "Well, Ms Midoriya, your daughter, Izumi, has a very potent telekinesis and pyrokinesis quirk. Your son, however, is quirkless."

After that, my whole world changed. My mother and father began to do less and less with me until they forgot about me completely. Tenya, Katsuki and Shoto would beat me up everyday, before, during and after school.

It all reached a breaking point where I made a plan to leave them all behind. Leave behind this life with the one person that I care for now.

Katsumi POV

Yesterday, Izumi and Izucchan went to the doctor to see what quirk they would get. Me and the others were waiting for them to arrive in class. I was sitting on my own, thinking about what quirks they're going to get.

When they got here, I was the first one up and over to talk to him I mean them. "Izucchan, Izumi!"

Izuku smiled at me. "Hey Katcchan!" His smile made me feel weird and my face felt hot.

"S-so what quirks are you two going to get?" Izuku looked down, sad and I got worried. "Izucchan?"

"I-Izumi is getting a telekinesis quirk but… I-I'm… quirkless." Izuku took a step back from me and I got worried.

"Hey, it's okay. Even if you are quirkless, I think you can still be a hero. It's like we promised, we'll be heroes together!" Izuku smiled and hugged me and I hugged back.

School had ended and everyone was at the park close to the school, and Katsuki had taken everyone to the side to talk about something but he wouldn't say what.

When I saw his smile, I knew something was wrong and whatever he wanted to talk about, it was bad. He looked at us. "We should bully Izuku so he stops being a hero."

Everyone agreed except for me. I completely refused. "No, we can't. Izucchan's our friend. We should support his dream of being a hero like how he supports our dream."

But everyone just ignored me. They left and began to hurt Izucchan with their quirks. I tried to rush over to help Izuku but before I could make it over, Izumi used her telekinesis to lift me off the ground and throw me against a wall.

As I was struggling to get up, Tina kicked me in the face using her calf engines and Shoka froze me to the ground. I tried to blast my way out of the ice but I couldn't. Izumi was using her quirk to stop me. I wasn't able to move and was forced to watch as Izuku was beaten, blasted and burned by the boys.

I cried and yelled for them to stop but they didn't. Only after ten minutes did they stop. Izuku was on the ground but didn't get up. Izumi and the others all left and I was finally able to out of the ice and ran over to him. "Izuku! Are you okay?!"

"Katcchan. I'm… fine. Are… you okay?" I was freaking out. Izuku was bleeding from all over. I didn't know what to do. I helped Izuku up and carried him to his house. Once there, I laid him in his bed and went into the bathroom looking for anything I could use to help him.

After Izuku was patched up, thanks to the first aid kit I found and some HeroTube videos I watched, he was resting and I was trying to recover from my freak out. 'I hope things get better from here.'
