Chapter 1: Adventure In A Shining New World; The Legend Of The Mysterious Moving Island
The New World, the 2nd half of the Grand Line said to host major challenges both on many islands and on the Sea itself. Somewhere in the stretch of Ocean lies the legendary treasure of the Pirate King Gold Roger; the One Piece. Straw Hat Luffy the man who dream to become the next king set of to find One Piece and achieve his dream along with his crew. Having recently defeated Kaido, The Strongest creature alive. Luffy and his crew eventually departed from the country of Wano to continue their journey across the world. However once again Luffy and his crew were in for another worldly adventure, one so worldly they and their new friends maybe in for the fight of their lives….
The Thousand Sunny, the Straw Hat's ship sailed through the blue ocean. No Marines in sight nor and enemy ships could be heard firing cannons at our band of Heroes, all was quiet today. Though given the very occasional insane nature of the new world this was probably a bad thing…
Luffy: SIIIIIGHH! This Sucks! There's nothing Happening. Where's All the Fun At today?
At that moment Usopp, the Straw Hat's sniper walked up to where luffy was lying on the ground.
Usopp: It's been like a Week since we left Wano and you're already wanting to put us into more trouble?! We finally have a moment of peace! No Marines or anything chasing up Right now!
Nami: (standing by the wheel) While normally I'd agree with you Usopp Im actually with Luffy on this nothing is happening right now, and that's worrying me.
Usopp: you guys gotta be kidding me; how's nothing a bad thing?
Sanji: (emerges from his kitchen taking some food and tea to robin) Well for starters ever since we entered the New world we've seen some crazy ass weather on the sea alone. (places tray on a table next to Robin who was currently reading)
Robin: There is also the Possibility an enemy has snuck up on us and is going to attack out of nowhere.
Chopper: (panicking) AGH! We're being followed?!
Usopp: Robin you gotta stop with saying stuff like that you're gonna make up freak out!
Sanji: (his one visible eye turns into a heart) DON'T WORRY NAMI AND ROBIN, IF ANY THUGS TRY TO HARM YOU YOU'RE DASHING KNIGHT WILL KICK THEM INTO TOMORROW.
Zoro: (tending to his swords) *Feh* (under his breath) moron…
Sanji: (angerly turns to the green haired swordsman) What did you say Mosshead?
and just like that Zoro and Sanji began their usual squabbling
Jinbei: They seem to be butting heads again. Should we stop them?
Nami: Just ignore them, though if they start to go to crazy again then sure.
Just then Nami noticed something off in the horizon, the orange haired Navigator raced toward the front of the ship to get a closer look.
Nami: no it cant be….
Luffy noticing something was wrong sat up to see what was happening.
Luffy: What's up Nami, you see something?
Nami: (peering at the horizon then at her Log Pose) There's an island up head! And it seems to be fog appearing by it too.
Hearing this, the other Straw Hats began to congregate to the front of their ship to see, and sure enough there surrounded by fog that seemed to be getting thicker as the got closer was an island. This made the rubber captain begin to Grin wildly
Luffy: (excitedly) alright! A new island means another new adventure!
Brook: My that certainly didn't take too long Yo Ho Ho Ho Ho!
Nami: hang on you guys, something's wrong the Log pose isn't reacting to this island at all.
Hearing this made the crew react either be worried or on guard.
Brook:(holding his cane sword ready to draw it) An island that appeared out of nowhere and isn't appearing on a Log pose. Could it be Him again?
Franky: (turns to his skeleton crewmate) Wait seriously? You think Moria's back?
Robin: It is possible…. (stares calmy at the island) however that may not be the case.
Chopper: really? You don't think its Thriller Bark?
Suddenly Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp's eyes briefly glowed red as if they were reacting to something.
Sanji: (taking a long whiff of his cigar) well we certainly won't be along that's for sure. But it doesn't seem like Moria.
Usopp: yea, there's a ship by the shore but it's totally different.
Nami: (sighing with relief) well that's slightly better. Still we shouldn't be to careful. This island is a total mystery and the chance of that ship being Marines is pretty high, we should probably keep sailing.
Robin: Hold on I may recognize this island. (the crew turns to their archeologist friend) This may be the Legendary Island of the World Tribe.
Luffy: World tribe? Whozzat?
Robin: Well according many written books this island was believed to only have been a myth. The World tribe possessed the ability to "Go to places never seen before" the stories say they could bring their whole island with them….
Luffy: (awestruck) Oooooooohhh it's an island that goes where it wants to go that cool.
Usopp: (comically slaps Luffy's head lighly) She's saying the PEOPLE moved the island dummy.
Robin chuckled slightly and continued her tale to the crew.
Robin: There was one researcher from the East Blue who had studied this tribe though. He wrote how he combed through countless ancient writings, rumors even many fictional stories written about this tribe until he finally discovered their secret…
Brook: I'm Quite Curious to hear my ears are wiggling with anticipation although I don't have ears anymore Yo ho ho ho…
Robin: The World Tribe's secret was the way the moved their whole tribe, island and all was done with a Devil Fruit of all things.
Franky: (looking a bit disappointed) is that all? Guy spends years looking into a tribe that was know world wild to be entirely fictional and he just finds out they used a devil fruit?
Sanji: No hang on I can see her point now. The world though this island wasn't real, so by proxy this Devil fruit of theirs would have been too.
Robin: (nods in agreement) since this devil fruit was never recorded in any of the older Devil Fruit encyclopedias the researcher named it after the tribe; the World World Fruit. Apparently, the Sekai tribe had found a way to keep that one devil fruit on that island. So, whenever it's wielder died the fruit would return and be ready to be eaten by another member of the tribe.
Jinbei: I've also have heard tales of the World Tribe years ago. From the stories I heard, the places the World tribe went to the took a great deal of treasure. No doubt their island has a now amassed fortune.
Nami hearing those words perked up excitedly here eyes turning into the Beri sign
Nami: (excited and determined) well what are we waiting for? If we let these sleaze balls get to the fortune of a life time then they're surly mistaken!
Luffy: (grinning ear to ear) No need to Tell me Twice, LET'S GO TO THE WORLD ISLAND!
Everyone: YEAH!
Meanwhile near the shore of the island, the other ship the Straw hats spotted floated calmy in the waters. A man in the crow's nest stoop watching his surroundings telescope in his eye to see through the dense fog. Soon his gaze caught the Thousand Sunny and it got closer to the island peeking through the fog.
Man: "W-wait a- t-that symbol…. AGHHHHHH! CAPTAIN!"
The man scramble in a panicked frenzy down from the crow's nest trying to find his captain he reached the deck and made a mad dash to his captain's quarters, swinging the door open wildly.
Man: "CAPTAIN!"
Suddenly a eating knife flew in the air sticking deep into the wooden door at the same level as the man's head.
Man : (flinches in fear) "EEEK!"
?: "How many times must I Tell Ye. Never interrupt me whilst I eat sailor?!"
Man: (bows his head) "F-Forgive me Captain Warp! B-but I saw a ship approaching the island. And we're in BIG trouble."
The captain who had his back to sailor begun to stand up from his chair and face his subordinate. He was Roughly around the same Height as Blackbeard, but was more muscular and more proportionate to a regular human. He Blue Coat, a black form fitting shirt underneath, a blue bandana peeked out of his big red captains hat. His pupils were a purple-ish blue color with a menacing shadow trim around his eyes. He word fingerless gloves w/ mirroring patterns on each hand his right hand had a black glove with white accents and his left a white glove with black accents.
Warp: "And Who be the Fools stupid enough to come here and try to challenge me for my long-awaited Prize?"
Man: (raises his head) "It's the Emperor Straw Hat Luffy Sir, he's worth 300 million Beri after he and his crew beat Kaido in Wano Country!"
Warp oddly enough didn't seem to fazed by the news his minion was relaying him in fact he begun to laugh
Warp: "heh heh…AH HA HA HA HA!"
The man looked very confused as he watched his captain laugh
"Straw Hat's coming to World Island eh? Fine by me."
Warp began to walk out of his quarters to the ship, and begun to call for his crew.
"ALRIGHT YE SCURVY DOGS! TIS TIME TO BEING OUR SEARCH OF THE ISLAND!"
Warp's crew excitedly cheered at the prospect of finally exploring the island.
"HOWEVER, WE SEEM TO HAVE DRAWN SOME UNWANTED ATTENTION TO OUR NEW LITTLE BASE OF OPERATIONS. THE STRAW HAT PIRATES" Warp bellowed
Hearing the words "straw hats" immediately quieted the whole crew's cheers and yells, their demeanor changed to having fearful expression on their faces.
One Sailor: "'Straw Hats' as in the Emperor Straw Hat Luffy and his Crew? They're coming here?"
Another Sailor: "we gotta fight an Emperor and his crew? Oh MAN we are screwed!'
?: "quit your belly achin' Our Cap'n's got everything under control."
Jumping from the top of one the ships sails was a tall slender woman, the had an athletic build and wore a dark blue form fitting shirt with white wave like accents on the sleeves, a skirt that had a royal blue legging, sandals similar to nami's but colored blue and she wore a saber that was sheathed around her waist.
Warp: "Aah, Sapphire one me top commanders. I take ye and the other Commander's Scouting mission went swimmingly?"
Sapphire: (smiling wickedly) "Ay Cap'n. we've secured the Route to the artifact. Its just a hop skip and a jump till you're in control of the island."
Warp: (smiling ear to ear) "YA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! EXCELLENT! When that artifact be in me hands, I'll have ALL the treasure this world has to offer! That includes The One Piece and what lies BEYOND!"
Warp turns to his crew once more with more vigor than he previously had.
"THIS BE OUR MOMENT MATEYS, ALL THE TREASURE IN THE WORLD AND THEN SOME IS WITHIN OUR GRAPS! WE CAN ROB, KILL AND DESTROY ALL WE WANT AND BEST OF ALL NO ONE WILL EVER CATCH US, WHAT'S ONE MEASLEY EMPEROR TO ME CAPTAIN WARP THE KING OF THE PIRATES?!"
As Warp continued to talk his crew was beginning to regain their confidence. One by one each crew member was filled with determination ready to face whatever was thrown their way with renewed vigor and moxie!
Warp's crew: "YEAHHHHHHHHH!"
Warp: "Now! The Time Be Now, All men with me. We're heading for the Grand pedestal!"
With that all of the men on board raced off the boat to the sandy beach bolting down the trail excitedly, all except Warp and Sapphire. The charismatic captain simply turned to Sapphire with a wicked grin.
Sapphire: "no need to ask Cap'n. I've already seen it; all I need to do is stall the Straw Hats and the artifact is yours."
Warp: "Ah Ha Ha! Good answer lassie! (patting her back) Do be careful though. That Rubber brained fool's still an emperor now, and yer a valuable asset to the Warp Pirates"
As Warp dashed off after his crew Sapphire stay behind and turned to see the Thousand Sunny roughly one mile away from the ship she was on.
Sapphire: (to herself) Heh no need to worry Cap'n. I've seen it all unfold. With THAT fool serving as the weak link, you're sure to win this fight.
As the Sunny got close enough to the island Jinbei steered the ship so it be further away from Warp's own ship giving the crew optimal fighting ground on shore should the need for a fight be needed.
Brook: (gazing at the empty ship a few hundred feet away) "my it seems that our welcome committee may have to wait a bit longer I don't see a soul on that ship."
Zoro ever the first mate he was. Prepared his swords.
Zoro: "No there's one. They know we're here…"
Franky: "Well, whoever they are they can't stop us! We'll knock their heads in and nab the treasure for ourselves." (Franky then thrusted his arms over his head bashing them together)
"SUUUUUPERRRRRR!"
Luffy then leaned over the side of the ship and began to yell.
Luffy: HEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYY! WE KNOW YOU'RE THERE COME OUT AND FIGHT US OR WE'LL KICK YOUR ASS!
?: Heh you say you want to fight and if I don't show myself, you'll fight me anyway? Just 'ow stupid are yee?
Suddenly the whole crew turned around to see Sapphire right behind them standing on the railing opposite of where Luffy stood wearing a smug grin on her face.
Nami: What the-?
Usopp: GAHH! When did she-?
Chopper: AHHH we're under attack! For real this time!
Sanji: Ohh! It's a hot babe!
Zoro immediately drew two of his blades and assumed a vicious stance ready to attack.
Zoro: Alright Who the hell Are you?
Sapphire: "My Name Be Sapphire; the Blue Madien and commander of the Warp Pirates."
Robin: (shocked) "The Warp Pirates? They're here?"
Sanji: (turns to Robin) you know who she's taking about Robin?
Robin: "Only in passing the Warp Pirates were said to have been quite ruthless they sieged many islands and were able to evade the Marines flawlessly. Many people say their ship just up and vanished when cornered by the Marines. Captain Warp's been famous for his brutal attacks and get aways, but there was always such a big gap between all his attacks his notoriety hasn't been as known."
Luffy: (turns to look at the invader of his ship) "so he's coward?"
Robin wasted no time in correcting Luffy as she knew the gravity of the situation.
Robin: "far from it Luffy his starting bounty was three times your original!"
Sapphire begun to laugh condescendingly at Luffy
Sapphire: "HA! Yer Archeologist speaks the truth Rubber boy! Me Cap'n's here on VERY important Business, and not even a green horned emperor Like yer-self can stop him" (begins to unsheathe her Saber) "not that I'd let Ye try."
Everyone minus Sanji who when back to being love struck at Sapphire took a battle-ready stance. Despite being outnumbered 10 to one, Sapphire still faced the straw hats calmly
Brook: "And What Business does your captain want here, and why just leave YOU a lovely lady to tend to us?"
Sapphire: "Oooh nothing in particular. Except maybe….. THIS!"
Sapphire lunged at the group sword in hand ready to slash the closet of Luffy's crew. Zoro then dashed forward to counter her assault but then something odd happened.
Zoro was about the block Sapphire's Saber with his own sword but Sapphire easily dodged the swordsman like he was a novice. Then Sapphire dashed toward Usopp, the sniper tried to Flee but the blue maiden seemed to stop right where he was heading, Sapphire swept at Usopp's feet and then elbowed him the ground.
Luffy: "USOPP! DAMN YOU!"
Luffy entered 2nd gear and charged at Sapphire angerly
Luffy: "GUM GUM JET PIST-UGH!"
Sapphire had countered Luffy by elbowing him in the face stopping his attack before he could even react
Nami: "W-what's going on? She's moving like crazy!"
Jinbei: "to out pace zoro and Luffy in his 2nd gear form, this woman must have a speed related devil fruit"
Sapphire then knocked Nami and Jimbei to the ground next and then grabbed Chopper dangling him by his backpack
Chopper: "Agh Help she's got me!"
Sapphire: "you're close former warlord Jinbei. I ate the Future-Future Fruit. I can see any immediate future making me quite the formidable opponent"
Luffy having finally recovered from the sudden blow to his face stood angerly behind Sapphire
Luffy: that not just it. She's Like Katakuri. She isn't just relying on her devil fruit.
Sapphire without moving her head looked at Luffy and smiled.
Sapphire: well well seems like you aren't as stupid and me and Cap'n pegged ya fer. Yes just relying on me devil Fruit want always in the cards for me so I tried both my body and haki extensively and I gain the abilities that I yearned for.
Zoro: (readying another shot at Sapphire.) "she's got advanced observation haki."
Brook: "This bodes very bad for us, no doubt she's using her advanced haki in tandem with her fruit abilities."
Sapphire: "Indeed Skull man this combo of powers allows me to multiple futures! In short none of Ye can beat me!"
Sapphire then Jumped from the ship with Chopper in tow and landed on the shore.
Luffy: "GIVE US BACK CHOPPER YOU STUPID JERK!"
Sapphire: "If you ever want to see your weird raccon dog thing alive, then I suggest you not get in me Cap'n's way"
Chopper who always got pissed at people calling him a raccoon dog, turned into his buff human form which caused Sapphire to let go of him as she staggered back in surprise.
Chopper: "I am NOT a Raccoon Dog, I'm a Reindeer!"
Sapphire: "GAHH! What the Hell? Nuts I be down a hostage!"
Sapphire then turned tail and began down the trail her crewmates ran down earlier and then she began to shout to the straw hats as she fled.
"It's not a total Loss I've done what I set out to do, now you can't stop Cap'n Warp. HA HA HA HA!"
Soon Sapphire disappeared into the dense jungle the straw hats stood there some in disbelief and others in anger, until…
Nami: "'Done what I've- 'GAK! She Stalled us so her Crew could nab the treasure! COME ON WE GOTTA BEAT THEM TO IT!
Luffy: "That stupid Wack-guy! He tries to take my crew and attacks my ship?! IM GONNA KICK IS ASS!"
Luffy still angry at Sapphire's attack on his crew and attempted kidnapping on his ships doctor then leaped to the shore then dashed off ahead after Sapphire.
Sanji: (out of his love daze) oh geez we better tail him he's bound to get into more trouble than we are.
With that the Straw Hats followed their Captain into the Island's Jungle giving chase to Warp. Eventually Luffy and the other's reached a part of the jungle where there was a large temple-like structure. The structure was in a circular open space as the trees were seen circling the old ruins. There at the top of the structure was Warp and his Crew. Many of his subordinates stood guard at the bottom of the building and Warp along with Sapphire and four other strong looking people stood at the top. Warp whose mood hadn't changed turned smiling menacingly to Luffy and his crew.
Warp: YA HA HA HA! Well met Straw Hat, did me Sapphire's welcome party leave ye quite dazed?
Luffy: (Pounding his hands together angerly) You that jerk Wack? I'm Here to Kick Your Ass!
Nami: (moved closer to the front of the group and pointed to Warp) "And give us all the treasure here! We deserve it after all the crap your commander just pulled!"
Usopp: (under his breath) "it seems we have our priorities in order…."
Warp: "HAH! Like I'd surrender all the treasure these ancient dead suckers left for me! Not a chance, I don't care if Ye are an Emperor Yer talkin' to the King of the Pirates!"
Luffy hearing that got even angrier at Warp Provocations.
Luffy: "NO WAY! I'M THE MAN WHO'LL BE THE PIRATE KING WHAT MAKES YOU THINK IT'LL BE YOU?!"
Warp: "With this you Rubber Brain!"
Warp the held up a small stone like sphere the size of his palm. It was mostly white with several rounded glowing gems stone jutting out from the top, bottom, and sides.
"This was one of the World Tribe's greatest treasures and their mighty secret! The Beyond Stone!"
Robin: "One of? But according to a researcher-"
Warp: "I Know of the findings that were discovered! The World Tribe used the power of a Devil Fruit to go from place to place. But that's only HALF the story. The Story I discovered 30 years ago anyway."
This left the crew in quite a shock.
Robin: "What? You were the researcher who learned the secrets to the world tribe?"
Warp: "Indeed I was Nico Robin. However No one took my finding seriously, what's more when the Government learned of what I was studying, they branded me a criminal. Those cowards at the top Thought the World tribe were somehow linked to the void century. And it wasn't I never knew of the void century till those idiots Gorosei name dropped it over their dumb transponder snail! That's when I made a choice with the knowledge I had and the world thinking I was a foolish criminal I decided to take to the seas, If I could find World Island for myself not only could I escape the world Government but I could get all the treasure in the world for myself!"
Warp held the stone over his head triumphantly
"The World tribe created this magic stone to help channel and boost the powers of the World-World Fruit. That way if a user hadn't awakened the fruit, they could still be able to warp more the just the user"
Sanji:(sarcastically) what a touching story really made my heart bleed there man. (looks sternly at warp) but from what you and Robin just said, you still need that devil fruit to power your dumb rock.
Warp: "Heh heh heh. Ooh don't you worry Mr. Swirly brow, I wouldn't have waisted me and me crew's time just to come here and NOT be prepared."
Usopp: (beginning to get nervous) "wait is he saying what I think he's saying? Cuz if he is…."
Warp moved the stone to his chest area, and held it with both hands as both he and the stone begun to glow with a shocking light blue energy.
Warp: "WORLD-WORLD JUMP GATE!"
Soon the skys began to darken as Warp begun to charge more and more energy winds now picked up blowing violently and lighting begun to flash
Sapphire then pointed to the Straw Hats.
Sapphire: "Men! Keep those bilge rats busy so the Cap'n can charge his warp powers!"
As the opposing pirates charged at the crew, everyone got ready to battle.
"Of course, he had the damn fruit he needed to use that thing" said Zoro as he tied his hood around his head then placed his third sword in his mouth.
Robin: "Luffy, we still have a bit of time to stop Warp, If you can get the stone away from him then we may stop him from taking the island away and taking away the ground beneath our feet"
Luffy: (more determined than ever) "No Sweat! This guy Pissed me off and there's no way I'd let him be the king of the pirates!"
Soon the Straw hats and Warp Pirates began to engage in combat while the straw hats were very strong, Warps crew had hundreds on their side not even including Warp's commanders.
Warp: (smiling devilishly) "Almost done charging me Harty's, then I'll take all of us the island and the treasure to another world! I'll leave the straw hats here. When the island disappears, they'll fall into the ocean and then they'll perish! YA HA HA HA-"
Just as Warp was about to finish charging his ability;
GUM GUM BOOMIN DAWN STAMP!
Luffy who had powered up past 2nd Gear had delivered a powerful stomp attack right on to the stone, and with the speed and brute force of the attack the Stone and Luffy's Foot plowed right into Warp winding him greatly. Warp's back hit the wall the and he fell and slumped over letting go of the stone while it now laid on his stomach area.
Sapphire: "Cap'n!"
Luffy: "I GOT YOU NOW JERK! (his eyes flashed red quickly again) Oh crap, not good….
While Luffy's attack knocked the sails out of Warp he was too late charging the stone completed and even if he was still in a daze, losing consciousness. Warp begun to trigger his ability.
Warp: W-w…warp…warp…Jump gate….
Suddenly the stone glowed a bright white color, the light begun to expand and swallow everything everyone, Warp his commanders, his crew the island; even Luffy and his crew.
Luffy: EVERYONE RUN!
As the Straw Hats ran for their lives try as the might, they couldn't shake the expanding white like as it caught up and swallowed them on by one. Luffy the last person to get swallowed braced himself and felt a wave of dread wash over him.
Luffy: (thinking) Please…. PLEASE BE OK… I Promise I'll find you guys this time….
Soon the white light swallowed the island and then it shrank into nothingness. Nothing was left no island no pirates even their ships vanished. Gone from this world without a trace left behind.
Some time had passed, Luffy who had somehow passed out began to stir.
Luffy: "mmmhhh. Ugh." Luffy soon sat up rubbing his head still in a daze from what happened.
"Oh man what happened? Where am I?" Luffy tried to look around but his vision was still a bit blurry. Shaking his head back and forth somewhat help shake of his grogginess. Getting to his feet Luffy tried to take in his surroundings. "Whao! WHAT IS THIS PLACE?"
To the rubber pirate's surprise, he was now is what appeared to be a bustling city but it seemed more to it then that. The city seemed to have no end to it He couldn't find the coast or see the ocean at all what's more everything seemed really futuristic strange machines running on a tube-like track building stretching high as the red line. What caught Luffy's attention the most was several large structures in the distance. They seemed like buildings but they appeared to look like certain body parts a Giant head w/ torso colored white and two giant arms looking buildings, one yellow and one blue. Luffy took it all in with awe and wonder. While he knew he was separated from his crew and needed to find them. He couldn't help but crack his famous ear to ear smile and he was now very excited again, now ready for a proper adventure.
Luffy: "Shi shi shi! Looks like I'm gonna have a TON of fun here!"
