As they entered the kitchen Lucas turned on the light and looked at Grace with a smile.

"He won't be up for at least three more hours. He always sleeps in after events like yesterday", he slowly stepped into her personal space, never letting go of her hand as his other hand put a stray curl behind her ear "Now…what would my beautiful fiancée like to have for breakfast?"

Grace smiled at his gentleness and squeezed his palm a bit.

"I would love to have that kind of breakfast you made me that morning...", she put her other palm on his chest "When you kissed me for the first time and told me you love me."

Lucas cupped her cheek and leaned down, kissing her lips slowly. Grace surrendered to him and kissed him back, a sigh escaping her at his gentleness…only to whimper quietly in delight as she felt him diving in, deepening the kiss. He let go of her hand and wrapping his arm around her waist he pulled her closer to him, diving in, drinking in her sweetness. Grace wrapped her arms around his shoulder blades and pulled him even closer, their kisses growing into a roaring, passionate fire.

As the desperate need for air made them pull away Lucas leaned his forehead on Grace's, both of them breathing heavily. She smiled happily as he slowly nuzzled his nose against hers.

"I'll help you", she murmured quietly.

Lucas smiled as he shook his head.

"No, no. You just sit here and enjoy", he cupped her face and gently kissed her forehead, making her sigh happily "It will be done in a minute."

He led her to the kitchen island and helped her to the chair and she giggled as he stole another sweet kiss before he went to start on the breakfast.

She watched as he took a bowl and eggs and placed them on the kitchen island. As he went to get some avocado and French toast Grace quickly jumped down from the chair and broke the eggs into a bowl.

But, the minute she started to mix them, she felt Lucas' arms wrapping around her waist and her hand nearly dropped the mixer as he whispered directly in her ear:

"I told you to sit and enjoy", he closed his lips over her sensitive earlobe, causing her to drop the mixer in the bowl as she let out a soft whimper of pleasure and smiled.

He moved her hair to her left shoulder and his lips moved down to her neck.

Grace leaned into him, her hand sneaking up into his hair, her head slowly lolling at his shoulder.

"Lucas…", she whispered and quietly gasped at the feeling of his lips and tongue worshiping her porcelain skin. She turned her face toward him and in the next moment his lips melted into hers, making her tremble deliciously in his embrace.

As he slowly unlatched his lips from hers she opened her eyes and smiled at him, her entire body tingling from love and happiness he washed over her. He playfully kissed the tip of her nose before he grabbed the bowl and went to the other side of the kitchen island to make sure that she doesn't do anything else except sitting back and enjoy.

Grace giggled at his playfulness, loving to see him so relaxed. She watched him work, her heart warming up at this small preview of how their life together is going to be. As he came back with a pan of scrambled eggs and started to put them on the plates, she got up and went toward him on the other side of the kitchen island. He turned to look at her, gifting her with a warm smile that made her heart sing.

She smiled back.

"So, this is how it is going to look like", she said quietly. At his curious look, she cupped his cheek "Our life together."

Lucas smiled warmly as he gently kissed her. Grace's smile widened as she whispered:

"Oh, I can't wait!"

Lucas gently nuzzled his nose against hers and murmured quietly:

"Me either", with another loving kiss he whispered "Coffee or tea?"

Grace's lips curled up in a warm smile.

"Coffee, please", she watched as he poured some coffee and tea in two cups, then placed some fruit on the tray.

"Can you take this?", he offered her a tray and she nodded as she jumped down from the chair and took it from his hands "I'll get the plates."

She followed him out from the kitchen and creased her eyebrows in confusion as he didn't go toward the grand staircase and back to the library.

Instead, he turned right and went down the long corridor and her heart melted as he stopped in front of one door.

It was the room where he kissed her for the first time.

The room where he told her he loved her for the first time.

And the room where he asked her to be his wife.

Their own private little rose garden.

Opening them with his elbow, Lucas turned on the light and waited for Grace to come inside before he closed the doors.

She walked toward the table and put the tray down. Lucas followed her and put the plates down before he went to start up a fire. In a minute, the room started to get warm.

He went toward Grace and she wrapped her arms around him, her eyes warm as she locked her gaze with his eyes.

"I thought we should have a whole atmosphere", he whispered as he cupped her cheeks.

She slowly caressed his back before saying quietly:

"This will always be my favourite room in the mansion. It holds so many beautiful memories already."

He leaned down and kissed her forehead, then moved his lips to her eyelids, making her sigh. His lips moved down and melted into her lips and he felt her tremble deliciously in his arms.

As their lips slowly parted, he whispered:

"I love you."

Grace smiled, her heart feeling like it will jump out from her chest.

"I love you too", she said softly.

As he let go of her and went to pull a chair for her, she slowly placed her hands on his forearms. He looked at her with curiosity and soft smile and she smiled as she slightly bit her lip.

"You said you wanted us to have a whole atmosphere", she took their plates and went toward the window seat, glancing at him across her left shoulder.

Lucas smiled and took the tray before following her. As she sat down he wrapped a blanket from the window seat around their shoulders and backs and offered her a cup of coffee.

She leaned into him as she accepted it, her heart filled with warmth and love.

And as the dawn slowly turned into a beautiful morning they sat close to each other, sipping on their drinks.

Lucas took a piece of French toast and spread some mashed avocado on it before feeding Grace with it and some scrambled eggs. A small chuckle escaped him and she looked up at him, her eyes glinting with curiosity.

"What?", she asked as she took another bite.

Lucas' lips curled up in a smile.

"And to think how Gustave scolded me for making you this for breakfast back then, saying that I didn't learn anything about romance from him", as Grace's eyes widened, Lucas frowned in an imitation of his cousin as he spoke in thick French accent "But, Lucas…French toast and scrambled eggs and avocado? Really? Whatever happened to strawberries dipped in chocolate, bruschettes, tartines, confiture, beurre… Haven't you learned nothing from me?!"

Grace nearly choked on her food as she bursted into laughter with Lucas joining her.

She leaned on his shoulder, giggling like there is no tomorrow, her fingers wiping a bit of avocado away from her lips. Lucas nearly dropped a piece of French toast as he laughed his heart out, loving the sight of his beautiful fiancée so blissfully happy.

Just as she should be.

Grace shrugged playfully.

"I don't know", she mumbled as she broke another piece of toast and popped it in her mouth "I think he could learn a thing or two from you about being romantic", she glanced at her handsome fiancé and smiled "But, then again, I might be biased."

Lucas smiled, his heart warming at her gentle teasing.

"Oh, I love it when you are biased", he quipped "It always plays in my favour."

Grace giggled as she chewed the last of her breakfast before she snuggled into Lucas' side.

He hugged her around her shoulders and kissed her hair, both of them falling silent and just enjoying their time together.

Silence was broken with fire crackling in the fireplace and Lucas slowly caressed Grace's upper arm as he spoke:

"I wanted to ask you something."

Grace looked up at him.

"What is it?", she asked.

He smiled softly.

"I'd like to redecorate a bit, buy some new furniture and new things for our home", he took her fingers in his and gently caressed his thumb over them "And I'd love for you to help me."

Grace's lips curled up in a warm smile.

"I'd love to", she replied gently "When would you like to do it?"

Lucas gently squeezed her shoulder as the joy bubbled inside him.

"I can call an interior designer today and set up a day for consultation. Would Thursday work for you?", at Grace's slight nod, he smiled and added "Alright. Then it's settled."

He watched as her face glowed with happiness and he could see her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"I can't wait", she said as she craned her neck a bit to place a gentle, loving kiss on his lips. He kissed her back, wrapping the other hand around her too and just reveled in the feeling of her in his arms.

February 14th couldn't come fast enough.

—--

I was living on a landslide

Falling fast until you took my hand

Now I won't ever let you go

Let you go.

Four-leaf clover and a horses shoe

Knocking on wood was all I ever knew

I'm saving all my wishing-well pennies and

I got so many ever since you came along.

Sunlight shining, baby, roll the dice

Now that I got you by my side

We can't lose.

No more waiting on a shooting star

I'm betting it all on your pretty heart

Baby, you're my lucky charm.

Like an angel from the blue sky

Sent to save me from my dark side

Yeah, the light inside was fading

But I found salvation when I fell into your eyes.

Sunlight shining, baby, roll the dice

Now that I got you by my side

We can't lose.

No more waiting on a shooting star

I'm betting it all on your pretty heart

Baby, you're my lucky charm.

All I know is

I got your love, I got your love, baby

Yes, I do

I got your love, I got your love, baby

Oh, I got it, baby

I got your love, I got your love, baby

Whoa, oh, oh, whoa.

Sunlight shining, baby, roll the dice

Now that I got you by my side

We can't lose.

No more waiting on a shooting star

I'm betting it all on your pretty heart

Baby, you're my lucky charm.

I got your love, I got your love, baby

I got your love, I got your love, baby

I got your love, I got your love, baby

I got your love, I got your love, baby.
