Season 1, Saga 1: New World, Chapter 9: The Last Resort
(We go to Thorndyke mansion where the group are in the living room talking about where they're gonna go.)
"The new Emerald Coast Resort sounds like the perfect place to get away from it all! You can hang out at the beach, or float in the crystal clear ocean all day long, then dine as you watch a spectacular sunset. It sounds absolutely romantic! I wish we were going to the opening party!" Amy said
"It will be nice to take a break from all those battles with Eggman." True said
"We'll have fun at the Thorndyke's villa. Are you ready to go, Cheese?" Cream asked
(Cheese replies in excitement.)
"I'm ready too, guys! My flight plan will take us right to the Emerald Coast." Tails said
"Be careful, Tails, and try not to let anybody see you." Chris said
"They won't have a problem for as long as they stay on the grounds of the villa. Me and Zee will stay here while you're all out." Chuck said
"Someone needs to make sure the mansion stays up." Zee said
"I wish I could hang out with them instead of going to the resort opening." Chris said
"I know, but your mother can't make it, so she needs you to go in her place. You won't have to stay long, and after, you can join the others at the villa." Chuck said
"That's great. I can give you a swimming lesson, Sonic." Chris said
"You guys go on without me. I'm gonna stay right here." Sonic said
"Huh?" Chris asked
"Sonic, you mean you're not coming with us?" Amy asked
"That's right! Have fun, I've gotta run!" Sonic said
(Sonic runs off.)
"That's weird. I wonder why Sonic doesn't want to go to the Emerald Coast with us." Chris said
"It must be because Sonic hates water. He won't come near the ocean because he can't swim." Amy said
(Flashback of the ending of "Chaos Control Freaks" plays.)
"I forgot that." Chris said
"But Sonic doesn't have to swim, he could go running on the beach." Tails said
(Sadly looks at the door Sonic just ran through) "It's not gonna be as much fun without Sonic." Amy said
"Hmmm…" Chris said
(Just then, a car horn sound came from outside, getting their attention.)
"Mr. Chris, we have to leave now or you'll be late for the ceremony." Ella said
"Have a great time, Chris." Chuck said
(Nods) "We'll meet up later." Chris said
"I hope it goes well." True said
"Okay. Don't be long." Amy said
"See you there." Tails said
(Cheese replies in excitement.)
"And don't be nervous, Chris. That opening party will be just fine." Amy said
"Yeah." Chris said (Chuckles)
(The X-Tornado prepares for take off as Chuck tilts all of the palm trees in the X-Tornado's path away from the plane.)
"Next stop, Emerald Coast. Hang on! [X-Tornado speeds along the runaway.] Here we go!" Tails said
(On the road, Chris, Ella and Tanaka were in a car heading to the resort as Chris looked up and saw the X-Tornado flying above.)
"Master Chris, remember that you are representing the Thorndyke family on this trip." Mr. Tanaka said
"I'll do my best, Mr. Tanaka." Chris said
(with Sonic, he was running to certain parts of the world as he grabbed a flower on his run.)
"Who needs the ocean?" Sonic asked
(The next scene shows an overview of the Emerald Coast Resort. True, Tails, Amy, Cream and Cheese are seen in the water. Amy is later swimming in the water.)
"This place is unbelievable!" Amy said
"It sure is, Amy! I'm really glad we came." Tails said
"And we'll have even more fun when Chris gets here." Cream said
"Wonder when he'll get here though" True said
(Fireworks are then seen above at the resort where Chris, Ella and Tanaka are as Chris wasn't having a good time as he wasn't able to go with the others to the villa until Tanaka snapped him out of it.)
"Try to look interested." Mr. Tanaka said
(Chris tried to smile as he had to cover for his mom. The scene goes to Amy where she is walking around the beach.)
"Lovely... I just wish Sonic were here to enjoy this with me…" (Daydreams about having romantic moments with Sonic.) "It would be so romantic! Ohhh! WE'D BE SO HAPPY!" (A coconut falls and hits her on the head, making her fall over. Amy angrily looks at the coconut and growls, before getting back up.) "Oh! YOU JUST RUINED MY FANTASY!" Amy shouted
(Amy picks up the coconut and throws it across the ocean, hitting a submerged octopus robot. Still angry, Amy hyperventilates before calming down and smiling)
"Just thinking about Sonic can make me crazy!" Amy said (Sigh.)
(Amy hears a man and woman giggling and sees them with their arms around each other.)
"You're so wonderful, Chad." the woman said
"So are you, Wendy." Chad said
"SONIC, WHERE ARE YOUUU?!" Amy yelled with worry (turns back to the couple from hearing something.)
"Chad, I've made something for you." Wendy said (holds out a bracelet made out of sea shells to Chad.)
"For me?" Chad asked
"Yes. It's nothing really, but I want you to have it. It's a lucky charm for when you go into the water. It's just like mine." Wendy said
"Thank you. I'll always wear it and think about you." Chad said
"Oh, Chad." Wendy said
"Oh, Wendy." Chad said
(later, Amy was back at the villa on a lounge chair with a bracelet she made herself in her hand.)
"Hmm, I wonder what Sonic would say." Amy said
(leans in blocking the sun with her head.) "Who's that for, Amy?" Cream asked
"Eh? Oh, nobody." Amy said
"You didn't make that for Sonic, did you?" Cream asked
"No, of course not." Amy said
(An explosion occurs, leaving True, Amy, Tails, Cream and Cheese shocked. The public in the hotel flee away to safety as Eggman came in on his Egg Mobile.)
"I'm turning the Emerald Coast Resort into my kind of stomping ground!" Dr. Eggman said
(The tentacles of the octopus robot smashes a boat.)
"Alright, time for my de-construction crew, E-39! Quizon!" Dr. Eggman said
(An army of Quizon robots emerge from the ocean and begin to demolish the hotel.)
"I have to find a way to call Sonic." Chris said
"You're my first guests! Welcome to Eggman's Scream Park, where your first vacation is guaranteed to be your last!" Dr. Eggman said
"Stay back, Chris, I will guard you. As your father's servant, it is my duty to protect you, even if it means sacrificing myself. Now it is time for both of us to face our fate!" Mr. Tanaka said (stands into a pose, preparing to fight Eggman only to be cut off by Ella.)
"Easy now!" (Pulls Mr. Tanaka aside) "Tanaka, you aren't even strong enough to lick a stamp." Ella said (lets Mr. Tanaka go for him to straighten his suit.)
"It's true. Right now, our only hope is Sonic." Chris said
(Back at the mansion, Sonic came in through the front door still holding the flower in his hand.)
"Hey! Huh?" (looks around to see no one is around.) "Oh... I forgot that everybody's gone but me. You don't see beautiful flowers like this at the seashore. The mountains are far superior!" Sonic said
(barges through the door on the other side of the room with Zee following from behind.) "Sonic! So, you're finally here, are you?" Chuck asked
"Yeah?" Sonic asked
(Chuck switches the television on.)
"A gang of robot destroyers has been wrecking hotels and resorts all along the Emerald Coast. The situation is growing more dangerous by the hour. Authorities have issued evacuation orders." the TV reporter said
(TV switches onto Eggman.)
(Laughs) "The owners of the Emerald Coast Resort didn't invite me to their opening, so I knocked it down and turned it into my own vacation destination! It's now... Eggman's Scream Park!" Dr. Eggman said
"This is really bad, you have to stop him." Zee said
(flies into the room while laughing) "I brought you a personal invitation. Your friend Chris is already there! He's having a great time! Stop by, we'll have a real blast!" Bokkun said
(Sonic panics with the bomb in his hand as Zee and Chuck lean in with curiosity before it explodes covering all three in soot. Bokkun flies away while laughing.)
(Shakes his head getting the soot off and shrugs) "Oh, well…" Sonic said (Runs off as Zee and Chuck were dumbfounded by what happened)
(back at the villa, True and Tails were in the X-Tornado and about to head off.)
(Looks through a pair of binoculars) "It's Eggman!" Amy shouted
"Out of the way! I've gotta save Chris!" (Amy throws her binoculars at Tails and hops into the X-Tornado) "Amy, what are you doing?!" Tails asked in panic
"Sonic's gonna show up to help, but if he doesn't, Chris will need all the help he can get." Amy said
"Okay, here we go!" Tails said
(The X-Tornado takes off.)
"I hope they make it back safely." Cream said
(at the resort, the Quizon crew were continuing to destroy the resort.)
(Laughs) "Build faster! Don't use too many nails and bolts, and make sure you water down the cement. I want these rides to be the most dangerous in the universe!" Dr. Eggman said
(A blue streak speeds through a metal structure, causing it to collapse along with the Quizons that were working on it. The blue streak stops on top of the rubble revealing to be Sonic.)
"Well, well…" Sonic said
"Sonic!" Chris said
"Hiya, Chris! Thought I'd drop by for a visit!" Sonic said
"You fell right into my trap, Sonic! I know you can't swim, so I lured you to the sea with E-38! Get him, Octoron!" Dr. Eggman said
(Sonic dodges Octoron's tentacles and attempts to kick him but gets caught in its tentacle.)
"You won't get away…" Dr. Eggman said
"Oh, yeah? Just watch me!" Sonic said
(Octoron submerges Sonic underwater.)
"Let him go!" Chris shouted
(Laughs) "I'm giving Sonic a choice: he can either forfeit the fight or forfeit his life!" Dr. Eggman said
(Octoron resurfaces Sonic out of the water)
"Well, how do you like the ocean?" Dr. Eggman asked
"It's delightful!" Sonic said
"Good. Then let's see how long you're able to stay under!" Dr. Eggman said
(Octoron attempts to pull Sonic underwater, but Sonic runs desperately on the ground.)
"Don't let Sonic slip out of your grip, Octoron! Haul that hedgehog back into the ocean, and don't let him up for air! Come on, Octoron! Flex those tentacles!" Dr. Eggman said
"Sonic!" Amy shouted
(Amy opens the X-Tornado's windshield glass and jumps off.)
"AMY, WAIT!" Tails yelled
"LET HIM GOOO!" Amy yelled
(Amy smashes the tentacle with her Piko Piko Hammer, causing the tentacle to break. The tentacle knocks Octoron into the water.)
"HOW COULD YOU?!" Dr. Eggman asked in anger
"Keep your rotten robots away from my Sonic, or you're gonna be SORRY!" Amy shouted
"Thanks, Amy!" Sonic said
(Sonic runs along a track and jumps off.)
"Hey, Sonic!" True shouted
(The X-Tornado shoots a ring at Sonic and he uses it to curl up into a spinball and smashes right through Octoron, causing the robot to explode.)
"Oh, no!" Dr. Eggman shouted
"Sonic!" Amy shouted (runs over to Sonic and hugs him.)
"Woah! Lighten up, Amy, ugh!" Sonic said
"You won this time, but I'm not through!" Dr. Eggman shouted
"Yeah, right!" (Eggman flies away) "What you did was crazy!" Sonic said
"I know, but you make me do crazy things!" Amy said
"Everything okay down there?" Tails asked from above
"Yeah, Tails! Thanks for the ring! Thank you." Sonic said
"Hey!" Amy said
"Huh?" Sonic asked
(holds out the bracelet she made at the villa) "Sonic, this is a bracelet I made to protect you in the water." Amy said
"Oh... You made it for me?" Sonic asked
"If you wear it, it'll bring you good luck." Amy said
"Really?" Sonic asked
(Just when Sonic is about to grab the bracelet, the ground shakes, causing Amy to fling the bracelet.)
"Your bracelet!" Amy said
(Several E-39 Quizon robots stack above one another into a snake-like robot, destroying the bracelet in the process.)
"I can't believe it!" Amy said
"I told you I wasn't through with you, Sonic, didn't I? My Quizon have merged to form Serpenter, and it's ready to strike! Impressive, isn't it, Sonic?" Dr. Eggman asked
"Well, that thing is pretty tall, but I bet in a battle, it comes up short!" Sonic said
"You need more than speed to survive this robot, Sonic!" Dr. Eggman said
"Really? Yo, fangface! Let's see how quickly you can slither!" Sonic said
(Sonic jumps away from one of Serpenter's attacks.)
"After him, Serpenter! Get rid of that blue bozo!" Dr. Eggman shouted
"You heard your boss, slowpoke! Right here! Catch me!" Sonic shouted
(Picks up the broken bracelet as she begins to cry) "I guess my charm... wasn't so lucky…" Amy said (Cries and then grows into anger)
"Alright, Serpenter, you know what to do! Put the squeeze on Sonic and then toss him out to sea!" Dr. Eggman shouted
"NOW YOU'RE GONNA PAY!!!" Amy yelled in rage
(Dr. Eggman and Sonic turn their attention towards Amy.)
"DON'T MESS WITH ME!!!" Amy yelled in rage
(Amy strikes Serpenter with her hammer, halting it in place.)
"Whoa…" Sonic said
"Oh, my…" Dr. Eggman said
(Amy continues to swing her hammer, destroying Serpenter's layers one-by-one.)
"Oh, no... perhaps I'd better... go…" Dr. Eggman said (begins to float away.)
(Once Serpenter's head reached the bottom, Amy swung her hammer down flattening it and hops onto it, continuing to swing her hammer at it, until it springs up, launching Amy up into the air and Amy whacks the Egg Mobile into the sea before doing it again for the second time, creating a huge splash.)
"AMY!" Sonic yelled in panic
(Sonic inhales and dives into the water to rescue Amy.)
"I can't believe it! Sonic's swimming!" Tails shouted
"No, Sonic!" Chris shouted
(Amy seemingly notices Sonic swimming towards her. She then daydreams.)
"Hey, Sonic! Hold on! Wait for me!" Amy shouted
(Sonic finally stops and turns to Amy as she wonders what he is gonna say until he sounds different.)
"Wake up, Amy!" the voice said
"Huh?" Amy asked
(Amy wakes up. It is now sunset, and she is back in the beach chair. True and Cream are with her.)
"Amy, you're awake!" True said
"Where am I?" Amy asked
"You're back at Chris' villa. They brought you here after you were pulled out of the water." Cream said
(Sits up and looks around)
"Who brought me?" Amy asked
"Me, Chris and Tails in the X Tornado." True said
"Is... Sonic okay?!" Amy asked in panic
"Yes, but he went back home." Cream said
(Amy looks down at her hand to see the bracelet is no longer there.)
"Oh... The bracelet's gone! I made it just for him, and now it's gone…" Amy said
"Don't cry…" True said
"It was a good luck bracelet to protect him in the water, but I guess Sonic had good luck anyway." Amy said
"I think Sonic's very lucky." Cream said
(True, Tails, Chris and Cream are giggling happily on the sand. While at another part of the beach, Sonic was standing on a rock looking at the sunset.)
(Sneezes) "Sonic, you've gotta stay out of the water!" Sonic said
(Amy's bracelet is seen on Sonic's arm as he had fixed it.)
