A/N: This was a request from HMG2000. Antonio, Al, Jay and Hailey are all still with Intelligence, Amanda, Kat and Muncy are still with SVU, Chief Garland is still around, Ed is still around as well and Stabler never came back. Justin is also still around.

Hank and Olivia were just married 9 years and Hank is now retired. Besides Noah, they have 8½-year old twin daughters Savannah and Isabella and a 4-year old son Jacob. Olivia had gotten pregnant with the girls and they adopted Jake. Justin and Olive live in Chicago in Hank's old house with their kids. Daniel is 9, Alyssa is almost 6, Henry is almost 3 and Emma is 6 months. Erin and her husband Matt have a 4-year old son Kevin. I don't own any of the characters except my own.

The Accident - Part 1

Hank and Olivia are in Chicago for the weekend, since Al was retiring from CPD. Olive and Justin had taken their kids to the Wisconsin Dells for the weekend, so they would not get the chance to see their son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. Noah, Savannah, Bella and Jake were staying with Matt and Kevin while Hank and Olivia were in Chicago and Erin was out of town. They had met Al, Meredith and Trudy for dinner and were headed back to the hotel when they were in an accident. Someone had blown a red light and broadsided their rental. Olivia had taken the brunt of it, since she was the one driving but luckily they were both wearing their seatbelts. Hank called 9-1-1.

"Olivia?"

"Huh?"

"You ok?"

"I don't know. My lower left leg and arm both hurt. You ok?"

"My knee hurts."

"I'm pretty sure my leg and arm are broken."

Olivia wiped the left side of her face.

"My face is bleeding too. Don't leave me."

"I'm not goin' anywhere."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Hank reached for Olivia's hand and laced their fingers together as they waited for the CFD to arrive. Station 51 was the first to arrive. Kelly and Joe came over to their car first, while . They opened Hank's door.

"Hey, Voight. You two ok?"

"My right knee hurts and Olivia said her left leg and arm hurt. She also has blood on the left side of her face."

"Is it just the two of you?"

"Yeah."

The driver of the other car got her window open.

"Excuse me. I need some help here."

"How badly are you hurt?"

"I have a mark on my neck from the seatbelt and I bumped my head."

"You can wait."

"I'm an actress, so I expect to be taken care of before them."

"They're police officers and are more seriously injured than you are."

"The accident was their fault."

"It doesn't matter who is at fault. Their injuries are more serious."

She rolled her eyes and sighed. The firefighters worked on getting Hank and Olivia out of their car. Violet had called for another ambulance. The police arrived. Kim and Jay were working patrol to get some overtime. They saw who it was right away. Jay went to talk to Hank and Olivia, while Kim went to get the other driver's story.

"Well, it's about time someone paid attention to me."

"Can I see your driver's license?"

"I don't have it on me."

"What's your name?"

"What kind of a dumb question is that? I'm Sadie Moore. Who do you think I am?"

"Ok, Ms. Moore, can you tell me what happened?"

"Those old people over there ran the light and I hit them. Supposedly they're cops, so then they should really know better. If I don't get some help soon, I am suing this entire city, including those two "cops".

"I would like for you to do a breathalyzer test."

"Why?"

"Standard procedure."

"I'll pass."

"You can always do a field sobriety test instead."

"Screw you, Bitch!"

Kim walked over to Ambo 61 where Jay was. Violet and Lyla left with Olivia and then the other ambo left with Hank.

"Anything?"

"She claims Olivia blew the light and she refused to do the breathalyzer or field sobriety test."

"Olivia did the breathalyzer and admitted to having one glass of wine at dinner but drank water after that. She was within the legal limit. They had dinner with Platt and the Olinskys."

Sadie had thrown up in her vehicle. Stella went over and checked her out.

"You ok?"

"I think I am now. I was raped."

They dispatched another ambo when another SUV arrived. Kim recognized the woman that got out.

"That's Stephanie Moore."

"The actress?"

"Yeah."

"Wow!"

Stephanie and her husband walked over to them.

"What happened?"

"She caused an accident and threw up in the car. She said she was raped."

"Not again!"

"She's been raped before?"

"Yeah. A couple years ago. She was filming a movie and one of her male co-stars did it. That time it had happened in New York."

"Did she talk with SVU?"

"Yeah. Captain Benson was the one she talked to."

"She seems like she's a bit out of it."

"She was drugged the last time, so maybe whoever did this used something on her."

"I was trying to get the other victims out and she said she needed help. I asked her what was wrong and she said she had a mark from the seatbelt and she bumped her head. I told her she could wait. She said she was an actress and demanded we help her first. She threatened to sue the city including the people she was in the accident with if someone didn't pay attention to her soon."

"She also refused to do a breathalyzer and field sobriety test."

"We are so sorry she has caused so much trouble."

"We do have another ambulance comin'."

"She'll be going to the hospital and she'll do the breathalyzer."

"We're taking her to Chicago Med. Is that ok?"

"That's fine. I'll go with you."

"I'll meet you there."

"Ok."

The other ambulance arrived and the she and Stephanie left for the hospital. Kim rode with them to get what information she could from Sadie.

"What do you know about the people she hit?"

"They're still alive but probably have broken bones. She did blame them for causing the accident."

"The police that investigated it were great but he got off."

"How old is she?"

"She's 20. I would like to meet with the other victims of the accident. We will take care of all of their medical bills."

"You might actually know one of the people in other vehicle."

"Who?"

"Captain Olivia Benson from Manhattan SVU."

"You mean to tell me she was in the accident with the cop that was so nice to her? When she realizes what she did, she will feel bad. She said no one had ever been that nice to her. Her husband is a cop too, right?"

"Yeah but he retired recently. He used to be in charge of the Intelligence Unit here and was my boss. I'm actually a Detective but my wife and I are expecting our first baby, so I work overtime doing Patrol whenever I can."

"Good for you. Are you having a boy or a girl?"

"We're having a girl. I'm kind of nervous about it."

"The first one is always the scariest. Stephanie and I were both pretty scared when we were expecting our oldest daughter, who's 25."

"I think I'm more nervous than she is."

"Do you have a big family?"

"No. My brother is a doctor and moved to Seattle a year ago and our parents are both gone. Hailey doesn't have much family either."

David answered whatever questions Jay had and then they both headed to the hospital. Olivia had a broken tibia and fibula, so they got her into surgery. She also had a broken arm. Hank had a torn ACL in his knee, which they were fixing first thing in the morning. Hank was waiting to be admitted and he had called Justin to let him know what was going on. He called Fin and then called Matt, so he could let Erin and the kids know. Sadie was feeling better when David got there.

"Hey, everything ok?"

"Yeah."

"They gave her something to make her feel better."

"Good."

"I'm sorry."

"You'll be even sorrier when I tell you when you were in the accident with."

"The firefighter told me they were cops."

"They are but one of them is Captain Benson from the NYPD."

"Oh no! Is she ok?"

"I haven't talked to them yet but I asked if I could speak with them."

"Damian raped me again tonight, which is why I ended up this way. I want him to be held responsible this time."

"They're waiting for a nurse or doctor to come in, so they can do the rape kit."

"Ok."

Then Kim back came in.

"Dr. Asher will be here in a few minutes."

"Again, I apologize for my behavior."

"Don't keep apologizing. It's ok."

Hannah had come in and did the rape kit, while Kim asked her questions. Jay was standing outside.

"Mr. Moore, Hank would like to talk to you."

"Thank you, Detective."

David went with Jay to where Hank was.

"This is Hank Voight, one of the people in the other vehicle involved. Hank, this is David Moore, the father of the girl that hit you."

"Nice to meet you."

"You too. Halstead told me your daughter is one of the victims Olivia has helped."

"She is."

"Olivia told me about that case and she blamed herself for him getting off. She tends to do that."

"Sadie's been dealing with it the best she can but had a hard time after Damian got off. When I told her who the accident was with, she got upset. Your wife did so much for her."

"That's what she does best."

"We have another daughter, Monica, who's 25 and in Law School. She took after me and Sadie took after Stephanie."

"You're wife is an actress, right?"

"She is. She's more well known than Sadie. Stephanie has been in the business for close to 30 years, so before we were married and the girls came along. Sadie is finding out that show business is not was simple as it seems. Stephanie has always tried to make time for us even during her busy schedule."

"How'd you two meet?"

"When she was signing her first contract, I was the lawyer that she came too. That was one of the first things I handled out of Law School. We fell in love and the rest is history. I took the Bar Exam in multiple states, so wherever she was going to be, I could handle her contracts. I can even practice law here too. Stephanie and I would like to take care of the medical bills for you and your wife. We're not making excuses for Sadie and if you still choose to press charges, that's your choice and honestly, we wouldn't blame you. We are also not trying to pay you off. I am responsible for your medical bills anyway but whatever goes beyond our insurance coverage, we will take care of."

"I will speak to Olivia about that."

"That's understandable. Here's my card."

Hank took David's card and then David went back to Sadie's room. Kim came into Hank's room.

"Her attitude seems a lot better now than it did before. She was so out of it that she threatened to sue the city, including you and Olivia."

"I don't know that I trust this guy. He claims he's not trying to buy us out and would understand if we wanted to press charges."

"I know you don't trust a lot of people including me sometimes but I think he's being genuine about it. Maybe see what Olivia has to say about him, since she probably dealt with him when Sadie was raped in New York. Have Erin look into him to see if there might be something he's hiding."

"For someone in Stephanie's position, she seems like she is very down to earth. There are people in show business that have huge egos and think they're better than everyone else. I don't get that impression with Stephanie though. I think Sadie was only acting the way she was because of whatever she had in her system."

"That's true."

"Did they do a tox screen on her?"

"They took blood when she came in, so they'll know what was in her system. We need to contact Antonio and see if we need to get everyone to locate this guy."

"We probably should. We'll check in with you later."

"Ok. Thanks."

Jay and Kim left and then Erin came in.

"Hey."

"You're here."

"I am. I was in Dallas but after Matt called, I figured I needed to be here. Is Justin coming home?"

"He said he would talk to Olive and see. He doesn't necessarily want her driving home with the 4 kids by herself though."

Erin sat down and hugged Hank.

"That makes sense. How's Mom?"

"She has a broken tibia and fibula and in a lot of pain, so she's in surgery right now. She also has a broken arm. I have a torn ACL and that's a 9-month recovery. Remember a couple years ago when Olivia had that case that the guy ended up getting off?"

"Yeah."

"That girl was the one that caused the accident. Apparently the same guy raped her again. The mother is Stephanie Moore."

"I've heard of her."

"The daughter is an actress too but had something in her system, which is probably what caused the accident. The dad is a lawyer and offered to pay for our medical bills. Even if they go beyond what the insurance covers. A part of me doesn't trust this guy."

"You want me to look into him, don't you?"

"If you don't mind."

"I don't mind."

"His name is David Moore."

"I'll look into it later and get back to you. I need to find someplace to stay."

"You can stay in our room at the hotel, since we'll be stayin' here for a while."

"Great. Thanks."

"Yep."

"If you need me to take time off, I will."

"I don't know how long we'll be here. Matt happened to be off for a few days but what happens when he goes back to work."

"He said if he has to take some time off, he will. I'll see if I can extend the hotel stay. I'm sure you'd be able to stay with someone until you can go home."

"Justin and Olive don't necessarily have the room. They should have gotten a bigger place once Henry came along."

"They probably should have. At least you don't have to deal with stairs at your place."

"I'm glad for that. I can't wait to get home."

Al and Trudy came in.

"You ok?"

"Not really but we're alive. Olivia is in surgery right now havin' her broken tibia and fibula repaired and I'm havin' my torn ACL repaired in the morning. Olivia also has a broken arm. Did Mouch call you?"

"He did. He wanted to make sure I knew."

"Halstead and Burgess responded as the Patrol officers."

"Good."

"What's with that?"

"Halstead wants some extra money before the baby comes and Burgess wants to make extra money for the wedding. Dawson was fine with it."

"Adam should pick up some of that too. Kim shouldn't be the only one."

"He and Atwater both do too but Ruzek and Burgess alternate nights, so one of them is always home with Makayla. If they get call during the night, they drop her off with Meredith. Meredith watches her after school and over the summer."

"She might be watchin' the little Halstead too once Upton goes back to work. I wanna visit Hank and Olivia more often but we can't do that if Meredith is watchin' kids."

"It's nice that she's offerin' though."

"It is."

They finally admitted Hank. Al and Trudy stayed for a little while longer and then they went home. Hank told Erin where the key card for the hotel was and then she went to the hotel. Olivia got out of surgery and went to recovery. The surgeon came to tell Hank that everything had gone well and she would eventually be moved to a room nearby. Hank texted everyone to let them know things had gone well and then he tried to go to sleep.

The next morning, Erin got up and got ready to go to the hospital. She had looked up David Moore like Hank wanted but couldn't find anything suspicious. Once she was ready to go, she left and grabbed something for breakfast on the way. She arrived at the hospital and got a visitor's pass. She had also gotten Olivia's room number. She went to Hank's room first.

"Hey."

"Hey. They said I should be goin' in soon."

"Ok. I looked up David Moore and nothing suspicious came up."

"Ok, thanks. I wish I could see Olivia before I go in."

Then the nurse came in.

"Would it be possible for me to see my wife before I go in?"

"I just came from her room and she's asking for you anyway. Let me get someone to help me get you up."

"Thanks."

The nurse went to get an orderly and had him help her get Hank out of bed. They got him in the wheelchair and then went to Olivia's room.

"Hey."

"Hey!

"How are you feelin'?"

"Better now that you're here."

"I wish I could say the same. I'm goin' in soon."

"At least we're going through this together."

"Yep."

"Hey, Erin!"

"Hey, Mom."

"When did you get here?"

"Probably around 9 last night. Matt called and I made the decision to come here. I tried extending the room but I couldn't. I explained the situation and was able to get a larger suite for the time being. They said they will keep checkout open, so you can stay as long as you need to."

"Ok, thanks. I called Justin and Fin besides Matt. Justin was gonna talk to Olive. Fin said he would let everyone there know."

"The girl that caused the accident was Sadie Moore, that girl you helped a couple years ago. Apparently she was raped again by the same guy."

"Hopefully Peter will have a better time getting a conviction than Carisi did. At least he won't have Barba for a lawyer this time."

"Right. Her parents offered to pay for our medical bills even if it goes beyond what their insurance covers. I told him I would talk to you about it."

Hank told her what David told him.

"And you don't trust the guy?"

"Not exactly but I had Erin look into him and nothin' suspicious came up."

"They're good people. I got to know them pretty well when I worked with Sadie. I don't necessarily want to press charges against her."

"Neither do I. Obviously he wants to settle this out of court. Maybe we can talk to my lawyer here and work somethin' out."

"That might be the way to go."

The nurse came back in to tell Hank they were ready to take him in. He kissed Olivia and hugged Erin and then the nurse took him back to his room. They got him ready for surgery and then they took him in. Erin sat and talked with Olivia and then Stephanie and David brought Sadie in. They knocked before they came in.

"Come on in."

"Hi Olivia."

"Hey, you. How are you?"

"I'm better than I was yesterday. I heard from Officer Burgess that Damian was arrested. I'm really sorry for what happened."

"It's ok."

"Really, it's not. I could have killed you and your husband."

"We're both ok even though it'll be a long recovery for both of us. I do know the Assistant State's Attorney here too, so hopefully, he'll have more luck than ADA Carisi did. Hank and I don't want to press charges and you have enough you're dealing with right now. I guess your dad offered to take care of everything."

"I did. Some people may not trust that though."

"Hank doesn't but he said maybe we can talk to his lawyer here and get things taken care of."

"That works for me."

"How long will you be in Chicago?"

"Probably for a while. Stephanie is taking a break for a while, so she can help Sadie get through this."

Then Justin came in.

"Hey, Mom."

"Hey. Did you all come home?"

"Yeah. Even though Danny and Alyssa are a little disappointed, they understand that we needed to be here for Papa and Grandma. I told them we would try again another weekend."

"These are our two oldest kids Erin and Justin. Actually, they're Hank's but I'm Mom to both of them. This is David, Stephanie and Sadie Moore."

"Nice to meet you. My wife is a fan of yours."

"I'm glad to hear that."

"Sadie is the one that caused the accident but she was someone I helped a couple years ago."

"I remember you talkin' about that."

"Sadie, let me ask you this. How did Damian find you?"

"The person who had the party I went to contacted me and said he was in town and was having a get together. I had no idea Damian was going to be there. I'm starting to think Damian got him to lure me there. Whatever was in my system last night, I never took. It must have been in something I drank. Last night, he basically accused me of trying to ruin his career but isn't that what he's trying to do to me?"

"That's how they are sometimes."

Then Kim came in with Peter and Dr. Charles.

"Olivia. Erin."

"Peter."

"This is Peter Stone the Assistant State's Attorney and this is Dr. Charles the head of Psychiatry here at Med. These are the Moores."

"Nice to meet you."

"You too. Can I speak with Sadie for a few minutes? Would that be ok?"

"Of course."

Dr. Charles took Sadie somewhere where they could talk.

"These are the results of her tox screen. She had no illegal substances in her system but there was a drug commonly used in sexual assaults, which may have caused her impairment and erratic behavior."

"There was also one in her system after her prior assault too."

"We contacted Fin and he sent us a copy of her file."

"Ok, good. I was going to suggest that. Can I see this?"

"Sure."

Kim handed Olivia the results of Sadie's tox screen and she compared it to the one from Melinda.

"Same drug but it appears to be a stronger dose."

"So, why wasn't his guy convicted in New York?"

"It's nothing Carisi did wrong and he had a strong case. Barba was Damian's Defense Attorney. He's just one of those entitled rich kids who thinks he can do no wrong. There were quite a few young ladies on the jury and I think that clouded their judgement of the case. I want this little bastard to go down."

"I'll do my best."

"Thanks."

"Sure. How are you doing?"

"Other than the hardware I now have in my leg and the cast on my arm, I'm not doing too bad. Hank is having his torn ACL repaired."

"How are the kids?"

"They're doing great. Do either of you have a recent picture of them?"

"I have one."

Erin pulled up a recent picture of Hank and Olivia's kids and showed it to Peter.

"Oh, wow! I can't believe how grown up Noah is."

"He'll be a teenager this year."

"That does not seem possible."

"I know it doesn't."

"The girls are growing up so fast too."

"That they are."

"Every time I see a picture of them, they look more and more like you."

"I hear that from Hank all the time too."

"Are they all dancing?"

"Just Noah is. The girls weren't interested. The girls are into soccer and Jake isn't into too much yet. We have a pool in our building, so they all love to spend time swimming."

"That's great. I do need to speak with Sadie as well."

"That's fine. She will do anything to get that son of a bitch locked up where he should be."

"Has he tried contacting her?"

"Not that we know of but she has gotten numerous calls from a blocked number."

"If we can have her phone, we can find out who's been contacting her."

"Sure."

Stephanie gave Sadie's phone to Kim. Then the rest of Intelligence came in.

"How are you feeling, Olivia?"

"Better than I was, I guess. I'm just hope Hank gets out of surgery soon. I at least want to talk to my babies."

"Who are they stayin' with?"

"Matt for right now. Matt's normal day off is Friday and he's also off all weekend."

"Look at it this way, he'll be able to deal with your respective recoveries, since that's what he does for a living."

"That is a good thing. Can you call Matt or Noah?"

"Sure."

Erin tried Matt but it went straight to voice mail. She then tried Noah but his went to voice mail too.

"I called both of them and both went straight to voice mail too."

"Kev, we need to find out who a blocked number on Sadie's phone belongs too."

"On it."

Kevin took Sadie's phone and headed to the District. Little did they know was that Matt was bringing the kids to Chicago. Ed and Patty were with them and so were Christian, Lamai and Abby. SVU had a case they were working on but they told Christian they sent their love. They arrived at the airport, got their stuff and got their rentals before heading to the hospital. When they arrived, they got their visitor's badges and were told where Hank and Olivia were. Hank was still in surgery but would be out soon and Sadie was back in Olivia's room after talking with Dr. Charles and Peter. Lamai and Patty stayed with the younger kids, while Matt, Ed, Christian and Noah went to see Olivia.

"Hey."

"Hey. You're here!"

"We are."

"I'm the official SVU representative. They had a case they were working on but they send their love. ADA Carisi dropped these off before we left."

"Thank you! I will have to text him or Amanda to tell them to thank the kids."

Christian kissed Olivia's cheek and then he recognized the Moores, so he said hello to them. Ed kissed her cheek as well. Noah hugged Olivia and so did Matt.

"Everyone else is in the waiting room with Mrs. Garland and Patty. How's Dad?"

"He's still in surgery."

"We have not seen little Kevin in a while."

"Let's go."

Erin took the group from Intelligence to the waiting room.

"I talked to my mom and she said she will stay with you a few days a week to help keep an eye on the kids. I will handle PT for both of you and we can probably do it at the gym in your building once we you get to that point. Hank will have a 9 month recovery but the PT will start in a couple weeks. Yours starts when you can do full weight bearing and you may also need PT for your arm. We can probably stay with you overnight."

"They said maybe a couple months of not putting full weight on it?"

"Yep. Trying to use the bathroom is always fun and it'll be even harder because of your arm."

"Patty and I will do what we can too. I'll stay with you the days Matt's mom can't or if you need any errands done, let me know."

"ADA Carisi said his mother will take care of the food for you."

"We'll do what we can too. I know how to do laundry and I can heat stuff in the oven. Savannah, Bella and Jake can help empty the dishwasher and make sure their rooms are cleaned."

Olivia had tears running down her cheeks.

"Thank you, everyone. I'm just a bit overwhelmed by all this but we appreciate this more than you will ever know. Who has Milo?"

"He's with my parents for now. I dropped him and Cody off at their house last night."

"I just don't want to stay in Chicago for the entire time."

"I'm guessing you may have to stay here a couple weeks."

"We have a private jet if that helps. It might be more comfortable than flying commercial. It has reclining seats."

"Would they be able to get on it?"

"It has a ramp as well as stairs."

Erin and the group from Intelligence came back and Atwater was with them. He said the number belonged to Damian and he called Peter to let him know that. The group from Intelligence left and then the doctor came in. Hank's surgery had gone well and would be moved back to his room in an hour or two. Olivia introduced him to Matt and then the two of them talked about what they would need for the next several months. They would be released in a couple days but they needed to stay in Chicago for a couple weeks. He thought a private jet might offer more comfort but he wanted to see both of them before he would ok them to travel. He checked on Olivia before he left and everyone from Intelligence left too.

"I'm not so sure staying at a hotel is a good idea but what else are we going to do?"

Then Trudy and Mouch came in with Al.

"How are you feeling?"

"Better. We should be released in a couple days and we have to stay in Chicago for two weeks. We both need to see the doctor before he will ok us to travel. I don't think staying at a hotel is a good idea though but what other choice do we have?"

Erin looked at Justin.

"If you had a bigger house, they could probably stay with you."

"I know. Dad said we should have looked for somethin' bigger when little Hank came along. He's right. We are so crowded in that place with the 4 kids. Danny seems ok with sharing a room with little Hank for right now but in a few years, not so much. It'll be the same with Alyssa and Emma. It's time for a change."

"Meaning what?"

"We've started lookin' for bigger places. We would need at least a 5 bedroom house. We have money for a down payment but something tells me we'll have to wait until we sell the house before we can close on the new one."

"Your dad has said that if and when the time comes, we will help you out. We did give Erin and Matt money for their place as well."

"We would really like for the family to be in the same city but I doubt we could afford New York though."

"If you did that, you might want to consider one of the other boroughs. Manhattan is ridiculously high. It was my choice to stay in Manhattan to be closer to where I need to be. Ed, you're in Queens, right?"

"Yeah. It was a hell of a commute for the length of time I was doin' it. I don't miss it."

"Neither does Hank. A part of me wishes I could retire but that won't be happening any time soon. Maybe this accident was a sign that I need to slow down and let my squad take over for a while."

"I need to discuss something with you and Dad."

"Ok. Like what?"

"I think I need to resign from my job. I can't do the traveling any more and I need to be around more for my son."

"How does Matt feel about it?"

"He said he will support me no matter what I do."

"What do you want to do?"

"I still wanna be in law enforcement but something that's not going to keep me from my boys for sometimes weeks at a time."

"In other words, the NYPD."

"Probably. I've wanted to work with you for a long time. I probably should have done that instead of the FBI."

"I don't have a problem with it but Chief Garland would have to be ok with it and so would IAB."

"As far as I'm concerned, it's fine and with Captain Benson off for a while, they will probably need more help."

"If we get one more person, then I can phase out a bit and stay at the Precinct more often. I will be for a while anyway. Is there anything that says family members can't work in the same unit?"

"I can't say I ever came across that when I was with IAB."

"Curry is much easier to get along with than you ever were."

"I don't doubt that."

"If not, I'll go somewhere else in the Department. I just want to find something before I give the FBI my notice."

"That's understandable. I will talk with IAB and with Sergeant Tutuola when I get back."

"Ok. Thank you."

"Sure."

"Are you in trouble for leaving Dallas?"

"When I contacted my boss, he wasn't too pleased even though I said it was a family emergency. He'll probably be more pissed if I end up taking time off."

"We'll be fine. I'll probably have to take time off when they're ready to go back to New York though."

"If you need to, you can stay with us once you get out of the hospital. I can take time off and Randy's home for a couple days at a time.

"We can probably do somethin' too. I'm sure Meredith would be fine with that."

"I can probably take time off and I'm sure Olive will too."

The rest of the group from 51 was standing out in the hallway. Joe had the boys with him.

"Hey, Olivia."

"Hey."

"How you doin'?"

"Better. Hank just got out of surgery a little bit ago."

"That's great."

"You've met Carver, right?"

"We have and I met Lyla yesterday."

"This is Jack Damon, the new guy on truck and as it turns out, Kelly's half brother."

Stella introduced Damon to everyone.

"Nice to meet all of you."

"You too."

"Wow! Kelly, how do you feel about that?"

"I'm still letting it sink in. It's typical Benny though."

How are you feelin', Sadie?"

"Better too."

"Good."

"How long are you and Voight gonna be in the hospital?"

"A couple days. We're trying to figure out where we're staying in the mean time. Most of these places have stairs."

"Here's an idea. Justin, I know your living room isn't that big but for the time being, could we move your living room furniture to the basement and put Mom and Dad in there with hospital beds? I just think it would be better for them to be with family. I know everyone here is pretty much family though. I deal with this as part of my job. They are both at risk for falling right now and being somewhere they're familiar with may make them more comfortable."

"Now that Matt put it that way, it makes the most sense."

"12 of us in one house. That should be fun, since I'm assuming the kids will want to stay with us."

"Danny has the bunk beds, so Noah can sleep in the other bunk. Hank is in the toddler bed, so Jakey can go in with him. Alyssa has bunk beds in her room, so Bella and Savannah can share that and Emma is still in our bedroom for right now."

"Noah, are you ok with that?"

"Yeah. That's fine. Is Dad going to agree to this?"

"He will."

"Meredith and I could probably bring Mak over and stay with them during the day."

"That works."

"Let me check with Olive."

Justin left the room and went to call Olive. She did not have a problem with it. He also checked on the girls and Jake. They all wanted to see Olivia and all the kids were hungry. He went back to Olivia's room.

"Olive is fine with it and was going to tell the kids. Jake and the girls want to see Mom. They're all hungry too."

"I'm getting kind of hungry too."

"Let me guess, Portillo's.

"Probably. That's my favorite besides either of Dad's favorite pizza places. If I know Jakey, he'll want McDonald's though."

"Same with the girls."

"Maybe we can do pizza tonight."

"That works."

"Before we forget, I don't know if you heard or not but Boden is now the Deputy Commissioner."

"We heard that from Trudy. That's great."

Then Wallace came in and had Kevin, Jake and the twins with him.

"Hey, Olivia."

"Hey! I hear you're now the Deputy Commissioner."

"I am."

"Congratulations!"

"Thank you. Are these people harassing you?"

"Of course not."

"Let me know if they are. Donna and Terrance send their love."

"Tell them thank you."

"I will do that. These four wandered away from the waiting room."

"I miss you, Mama."

"I miss you too, Baby."

"Us too."

"Hi Gwama. You gots an owie?"

"I do, Sweetie. I have one on my face, one on my arm and one on my leg."

"Where Papa?"

"Papa just got out of surgery. He has an owie on his knee."

"Did you tell Mrs. Garland and Mrs. Tucker you were leaving the waiting room?"

"We had to go to the bathroom and by the time we came back, Jake and Kevin were wandering down here."

"Ok. Kev, is there anything you wanna do while we're here?"

"See the fire twucks."

"When are you guys back on shift?"

"Monday."

"I don't know about me but I'm sure he'll still be here."

"I'll probably stick around until they get released to make sure they get settled in."

"We should probably get goin'."

"Thank you for coming by. Javi and Otis, it was nice seeing you both again."

"You too. Hope you feel better soon."

"Thanks. Joe, say hello to your wife."

"I will do that. Say goodbye to everyone, Otis."

"Bye-bye."

"Bye, Otis."

Joe and the boys left.

"If you need help moving stuff, let us know."

"We will. Thanks."

"No problem. See ya, Mouch."

"See ya."

Mostly everyone else from 51 left. Christian went to get Lamai and Abby, so they could come say hello to Olivia and Ed did the same with Patty. They all left and went to grab a bite to eat before they went to check into the hotel. The Moores went back to Sadie's room as she was going to be released. Justin, Erin and Matt took the kids to get something to eat after everyone hugged or kissed Olivia. Wallace was still there and so were Trudy, Mouch and Al. Then Meredith came in.

"Hey. How are you?"

"Better."

"How's Hank?"

"He should be back in his room soon and according to the doctor, everything went well."

"That's good."

The nurse came in and told Olivia that Hank was back in his room.

"Where are you staying once you are released?"

"At Justin's. Matt said we would probably be more comfortable being someplace more familiar to us since we're both a risk for falling, so they're going to move the furniture out of the living room and get a couple hospital beds in there."

"I told her that we could bring Mak over and stay with them while Justin and Olive are at work."

"That works for me. Are the kids staying?"

"I think so. Noah didn't say he didn't want to stick around. Justin said they'd find room for the kids."

"It's probably better, so then they all know what to expect when you are finally able to go back to New York."

"Exactly."

The nurse came in again and asked Olivia if she wanted to try to eat something. She said she did, so she said she would have them bring her something simple. By the time her food arrived, Wallace left. Everyone else left after a while and then Olivia made a few phone calls to Hank's lawyer, to their insurance company and to the rental company. Erin, Matt, Olive and Noah came back. Erin and Matt went to see Hank, while Olive and Noah went to be with Olivia.

"We're back."

"I see that and you have Olive with you."

"Yep. I told Justin it was his turn to deal with the kids. They made these for you."

"Tell them thank you."

"I will."

"Did Erin come back?"

"Yeah. She and Matt went to check on Dad."

"I feel better now that I got to see all of my kids."

"Matt was talking about it last night and I thought it was an awesome idea."

"Justin felt kind of helpless after Dad called him. The last thing he wanted to do was disappoint Danny and Alyssa but they do understand that the two of you needed us here. We would have done the same thing if this had happened in New York."

"Justin said you're talking about getting a bigger house."

"We are. I get he wanted to raise our family where he was raised but we needed to move before Henry was born. We ran out of space two kids ago."

"Hank keeps saying the same thing. You don't mind us being there once we're released from the hospital?"

"Not at all. You'd do the same if it was us."

"Yes, we would. I told Justin that we will give you money towards the new place, since we did the same for Erin and Matt."

"That'll help. I sometimes wish we could all be in the same city."

"Justin said the same thing but New York is probably worse price-wise than Chicago. You'd be better off trying for one of the boroughs and staying out of Manhattan. We stayed in Manhattan because I'm closer to where I need to be and Hank was closer to where he needed to be. The negative to the other boroughs is the travel into Manhattan. You either have to drive or take some form of public transportation, plus you have to deal with the bridges or tunnels. I personally don't recommend the subway."

"We noticed that it was a lot more congested there than it was here. If you had chosen to move here instead of Dad moving to New York, would you have gotten a bigger place?"

"Yes. I wasn't sure I would have been too thrilled living where he lived with Camille. I love it here but I'm glad he chose to move to New York. I do wish all of you were a little closer."

"It would make life easier for us too with child care. I'm glad the building I work in offers child care but it gets to be too much of a hassle with the 4 of them over the summer or when they are on breaks. Meredith has offered but she already watches Makayla and may be watching Jay and Hayley's daughter once Hayley goes back to work. As it is, I go in early with the two youngest, so I can leave before the other two get out of school, while Justin gets them off to school. That's a joke some days. Henry will be in Preschool a few days a week."

"After Amanda had Nicky, Lucy was now with them full-time, so prior to that, she was helping us out and had Jesse and Billie. Matt's mother had Jake on the days he had school, since Kevin was with her anyway. You think dealing with Danny and Alyssa in the morning is bad, try dealing with an almost teenager and a set of twins."

"Who's worse?"

"That would be me."

"At least he admits it. It sometimes takes him a half an hour or more before he rolls out of bed. He's supposed to get up at 6:15, so he's out of the shower before the girls get up at 7. He already showers when he gets home from dance class, so he takes two showers a day except on weekends when we're lucky if he showers at all. If I take a shower when I get home, I won't take one in the morning. Hank is the same way."

"I've been better on the weekends."

"Yeah, you have."

Then Erin came in.

"How's your dad?"

"He's still kind of out of it but he's asking for you."

Matt had come in with the doctor and the Physical Therapist.

"How are you feeling, Olivia?"

"Better but there's still pain."

"That's pretty normal. I'm Chris, the Physical Therapist. I understand Matt will be working with you and your husband on your therapy."

"Yes."

"Matt and I went to school together, so we know each other pretty well. He's a good guy."

"That he is. He's also our son-in-law."

"He did mention that. You have somewhere you're staying, correct?"

"At our son and daughter-in-law's, which was my husband's house before he moved to New York. Matt said it would make more sense for us to be somewhere we were familiar with."

"Right. It's also easier than having to try to get equipment into a hotel. Is there a bathroom on the main level?"

"Yes but there's no tub or shower."

"Not a big deal. We just need to get a feel for what we need to get. You can get cast and wound covers to take a shower."

"I'm sure I will need assistance with showering. The shower in our condo has built in shower benches."

"Ok. Handicap bars?"

"No."

"I can probably get my brother-in-law to put something in. You have an adjustable bed, right?"

"Yes."

Olivia's phone rang, so she looked to see who it was. It was Hank's lawyer.

"I need to take this. Excuse me."

"Of course."

Olivia answered the call and told him what was going on. She then gave him David's number. He told her he would call him for a meeting. When she was done talking, she hung up.

"Was that the lawyer?"

"Yep. He said he will call David to set up a meeting."

"Personally, I think he seemed genuine enough."

"I do too. Stephanie is really nice and very down to earth. Sadie just wants that idiot behind bars where he should have been in the first place and honestly, I don't blame her."

"Did you contact your insurance company?"

"I did. They just need to get a copy of the accident report, so I need to get that from Kim or Jay, so it can be uploaded to the insurance company."

"Hopefully it's Kim because Jay's handwriting sucks."

"How would you like to get up for a little bit?"

"That would be nice. Would it be possible go see my husband?"

"Sure."

The doctor went to get a wheelchair and then both Matt and Chris helped her sit up. The nurse had come in as well. They got her to the edge of the bed. Matt was on her weak side.

"Put all your weight on your good leg and on us."

"Ok."

She did what she could with her left arm but most of it was with her right arm. They got her to the standing position.

"Now I'm tired."

"That's understandable."

They got her into the wheelchair and adjusted the leg rest for her, while the nurse moved her IVs to the chair.

"Should I be using a wheelchair?"

"To get around, probably, since you are even more limited with the broken arm. Normally you'd be on crutches. We will probably work with one crutch after a while once you can put more weight on it. Hank should probably be ok with crutches."

They all went over to Hank's room.

"Hey."

"Hey, yourself. How are you feeling?"

"Better now that you're here."

Olivia took Hank's hand and they laced their fingers together. Then she kissed him.

"Hey, Noah."

"Hey, Dad."

"Are the other 3 here too?"

"They're at Justin and Olive's."

"I see Olive and Justin came home."

"We did. Danny and Alyssa were a little disappointed but understand why we did it."

"We have pictures from our grandchildren and Jesse and Billie. Christian, Lamai and Abby are in Chicago and so are Ed and Patty."

"Is Kevin here too?"

"Yes. He's with Justin for right now."

"Justin and I have been talking about getting a bigger house. I've been telling him that since before Henry was born. I get he wants to raise our kids where he was raised but we ran out of room 2 kids ago."

"I told both of them we would help them out."

"Definitely. Where are we stayin'?"

"With them. Matt thought it would be better if we stayed somewhere we were familiar with, so there will be 12 of us in one house for probably 2 weeks."

"I guess I can see that. Did you by any chance get a hold of Carl?"

"I did and I gave him David's number. He will call him to set up a meeting between them. I also contacted the insurance company and the rental company. The insurance company needs me to upload the accident report, which I need to get from Kim or Jay. David offered the use of their private jet to get us back to New York."

"Ok."

"Lily said she will do what she can too. She can help with bathing and that, so she'd probably be able to come by in the mornings on her way to her wherever she needs to go and maybe on her way home. My mom said she can stay with you a few days a week. Mitch can probably put up a handicap bar in your shower. Erin, Kevin and I can stay overnight."

"Ed said he can stay with us the days she's not there and Patty will do what she can too."

"I told Mom that we will do more too. I can do laundry and put dinner in the oven. Uncle Sonny said his mother would bring food over. The twins and Jake can help empty the dishwasher and keep their rooms clean."

"If you need us to come out, we can come out. We're supposed to be coming out there for a week in July anyway but if we have to change it or make it longer, we will."

"I'll stick around to help you get settled once you're released and then I'll come back out to get you home."

"We'll come back and check on you in a little bit."

"Ok, thanks."

Chris and the doctor left.

"Al and Meredith said they will bring Mak over and stay with us during the day."

"Justin and I are planning to take time off towards the end of the week, so we can start looking at places. I've been gradually going through stuff."

"We have a bunch of clothes the girls can't wear anymore. Would you be interested in any of it for Alyssa?"

"When we come out there, we'll go through it.

"Sounds like a plan."

"What's buggin' you, Erin?"

"Would you be upset with me if I quit my job with the FBI? I can't do the traveling anymore. I barely see my husband and son and I would love to be able to have a job that would allow me to see them regularly."

"What did you have in mind?"

"SVU. Mom doesn't have a problem with it and neither did Chief Garland. If IAB is ok with me working with her, fine. If not, then I'll work in another unit. I just want to have something lined up before I give my notice."

"You do what makes you happy and if being there for your family makes you happy, then that makes me happy too. As long as Matt is ok with this."

"He is. My husband and son are more important. My boss was not happy with me for leaving Dallas but I said it was a family emergency. He's probably gonna be even more pissed if I take time off, so I will probably have to go back to New York tomorrow. Am I taking Kevin with me?"

"I'll keep him. He wanted to go to the fire station anyway."

"Ok. I'm going to try to get a flight maybe late afternoon."

Erin looked to see when she could get a flight to New York and booked a seat.

"My flight is at 4:30."

"Ok."

"Did you drive to the airport?"

"No."

"Our SUV is still there."

"Ours is too."

"Ok. I'll take Mom and Dad's. That way you'll have his seat when you get home."

"Ok."

"I guess we need to find an orthopedic specialist in New York as well, since I don't plan on coming back here for follow up appointments."

"I'll see what I can do."

The doctor came back in.

"Do you have an orthopedic specialist in New York?"

"We were just talking about that."

"I told them I would see what I could do."

"Let me know who to send their records to."

"I will do that."

The doctor left again. Olivia stayed with Hank a little while longer and then Chris and the nurse had come back to get her back into bed. Matt had gone with. Once they got her settled, Erin, Matt Olive and Noah left and went to get everyone else, so they could go out for pizza. Olivia had gotten something to eat and then Ed and Christian had come back.

"How's it going?"

"I'm ok. I got to spend some time with Hank, so I was happy about that."

"That's good."

"I'm gonna go see him."

Ed left and went to see Hank.

"How long do you think you'll be off?"

"They haven't really said yet. I think we will have to stay in Chicago for a couple weeks before we can even go back to New York. Matt is looking to see if he can get us an orthopedic specialist once we get home. The doctor here asked about that."

"What are you doing in the meantime?"

"We're staying with Justin and Olive. Matt said we would probably want to be somewhere we're more familiar with. They're moving furniture in the living room and getting hospital beds for us."

"Ok. We're heading back tomorrow. I will be as involved as I can with SVU and I will speak with Internal Affairs about the possibility of your daughter joining the squad. I don't see where it would be a problem. No one seems to have a problem with Detective Rollins and ADA Carisi working that closely together, so I don't see why this would be an issue. Even Captain Tucker, who knows IAB like the back of his hand didn't seem to think it would be a problem."

"She even said if she can't, she can't. I don't blame her for wanting to spend more time with her husband and son."

"Honestly, I don't either."

Christian and Ed stayed for a while and then they left. The nurse had come in to check Olivia's vitals and gave her her meds before she tried to go to sleep.

The next day, mostly everyone came back to see them. The Tuckers and Garlands were on the same flight as Erin. Hank's lawyer met with David to discuss him wanting to cover all of Hank and Olivia's medical expenses, which also included the hospital beds and whatever equipment they needed when they were released. They both then met with Hank and Olivia. Matt and Justin had some of the guys from Intelligence and 51 come over to help move the living room furniture down to the basement and then they went to get the beds and other things Hank and Olivia would need. They were both being released on Monday. Whoever was leaving for New York headed to the airport.

Matt stayed in Chicago with Kevin until late Tuesday. He and Justin ended up taking the kids to the fire station on Monday. He told Hank and Olivia he would take care of whatever needed to be taken care of in New York before they came home. He also said he would be back to accompany them to the doctor before they were released to go back to New York.
