Chapter 5
The 5'3 burly mutant licks his lips anxiously as the sweat pours out of his skin. Somehow he had managed to swipe Jean off her feet, carrying her to his Jeep while instructing his foster son to put on his shoes quickly. He wasn't Quicksilver, but he speedily got Jean into the car and David strapped into his car seat. Logan nearly threw himself in the jeep and drove off just as the sliding garage door gave him enough room.
Jean loudly groans as Logan hits a sharp turn. Her right side collided with the door. "Ugh! Careful Logan!" She groans again as another contraction hits her. Her hand pressed against his shoulder, nearly tearing off the leather.
"Auntie Jeannie, what's wrong?" David's little voice breaks through the tense atmosphere. Logan glanced up in the rearview mirror; the child was frightened. He just saw his adopted mother shot on TV, and now his aunt Jean was frantically screaming and crying.
"Jean's having her baby buddy. Don't worry, she'll be okay." Logan tries to reassure the child. His eyes are back on the road, growling in annoyance as he sees the traffic buildup. Without a thought, Logan steers the vehicle onto the sidewalk. He was pounding his fist against the horn and sticking his head out the window to warn them. "Out of the way! Baby coming through! Out of the way!"
Jean gasps at seeing a man, who is not aware of his surroundings, standing on the sidewalk with his dog. She closes her eyes and uses her telekinetic power to move him and other civilians out of Logan's way. Her eyes open up, tears falling down her cheeks as she looks back to see the people she saved, who are either shocked or annoyed by the madman driving on the sidewalk.
She closes her eyes once again, this time sending her husband a message. Scott, please hurry!
Jean! What's wrong? You're in pain!
The baby's coming!
Their communication link breaks as another wave of shooting pain fills her abdomen. "Urghh!" Her power slips out of control as the roof of Logan's jeep is thrown off.
Logan messily parks in front of the hospital, carrying his ex-lover in bridal style as she loudly moans and groans. His thoughts were running wildly as he kicked open the doors. A few nurses and a doctor, bewildered, looked up at the sound. "She's in labor, doc! Help her!"
The doctor furrows his eyebrows, watching the pair intensely. His eyes widened. "You're from that team, the X-Men." The doctor clears his throat and shakes his head. "We don't do mutant births here, sir."
The blunt refusal made Logan growl. Quickly remembering the distressed woman in his arms, he sat her down on a chair against the wall and grabbed the man by his lab coat collar, slamming him on the same wall. "What do you mean you don't do mutant births?! Can't you see she's in pain?!"
"Hey!" The doctor struggles against Logan's strength. "You people can't control your powers once you lose them! If she needs a c-section."
SNIKT!
Logan's claws come out. "I'll show you a c-section bub!" Hunched back in the chair, Jean sees David shaking. Before she can stop Logan from going any further, Rogue flies in, holding onto Cyclops with Morph behind them.
"Jean! I'm here, darling!" Once on the floor, Scott comforts his wife. "Why aren't you getting prepped?"
"This asshole says they don't do mutant births!" Jean curses, sobbing as she looks at her husband. Her hand was squeezing his, as the pain was now unbearable. Scott endures the pain in his hand and turns to Rogue. "Rogue, I'm sorry to ask this because I know you don't like to do this. Can you use your powers to extract his medical knowledge and deliver our baby?"
Marie's jaw fell as she started to shake her head. "Cyclops, I can't! I mean, if I slip up and touch your baby."
"Marie, please, I trust you! We trust you won't harm us!" Jeans begs.
Marie sighs as she slips off a glove. "Sorry sugar." The doctor gives off a bewildered look and starts to resist Logan's death grip even harder. "No! What are you doing?" He screams as his body is hauled closer to the wall, feeling many sparks throughout his body. Logan drops the unconscious body onto the floor as Marie commands the nurses to prep Jean and get her an IV. The nurses obliged easily, taking Jean and Scott to their new room.
Logan watches the couple get dragged away. He flinches, pulling his arm back from whoever was tugging at him. "Logan, Storm got shot during the riot."
"I saw." He absentmindedly responds, then blinks a few times. His blue eyes turned dark. "Where is she, Morph?"
The shapeshifter gulps, "On her way back to the mansion with Hank and Gambit." Logan felt the beast in him, fighting to come up. The urge to find his mate, to help her heal, and to protect her. The idiot who blasted her better lay low for the rest of his life. Logan noticed Morph had picked up David, carrying the child on his hip. The boy looked scared every second that passed. Logan shakes his head, fighting his inner demon and taking the boy from his close friend.
Logan was tightly hugging him and rubbing his back. "Shh." He hushes, "Mommy Ro will be okay. Aunt Jean and her baby will be just fine." The smell of salt in the air and the sound of sniffling made Logan's heartbreak even greater. The fight to keep the beast inside of him became even harder. David had buried his face into the crook of Logan's neck as he shook nervously.
According to Charles and another mental health consultant, the boy has PTSD as a result of seeing his biological parents die. Once, he had an anxiety attack from Ororo accidentally cutting her finger while chopping onions. Logan continues rubbing his back while beginning to leave the building, calling out to Morph, "Keep me posted on Jean and the baby!"
He didn't stay to listen to a response, but he knew Morph would do as promised. Putting David back into his car seat, he frowns at his new convertible. He made a mental note to give Cyclops the bill for his new car. Logan drove home as fast as he could. Jubilee meets him when he parks in the garage. "Logan!"
"How is she?" He asked, walking past her with David sitting on his shoulders. Jubilee gave him the rundown of what exactly went down at the UN, but she missed the details on how Ororo was doing. Jubilee noticed him tense as his teeth gritted, her hand gently brushing against his arm. "I'll let Hank do all that medical talk."
As they reached the elevator, Jubilee reached out to David and said, "Hey David! Let me show you the new video game I got yesterday!" The boy shook his head. He may be the youngest here, but he wasn't dumb.
"Gotta see Mommy Ro." His voice sounded defeated and so quiet. Jubilee's eyes soften as she takes him into her hold against his wishes. "I promise I'll bring you back!"
"Go on, buddy." Logan encouraged him, patting his head. "The adults have to talk for a while, then I'll make sure you can see Ro before bedtime." With that promise, David willingly went with Jubilee as Logan waited for the elevator doors to open.
"Hank!"
Dr. Hank McCoy steps out of his office, mentally sighing. "She's in here, Logan." He waited until his friend was closer, then turned, leading the way to Ororo's room. "Go easy on her. She still needs to rest." The blue beast walks back to his office, deciding to give the couple some time to themselves. He smirked as he hurled himself up to the beams on the ceiling. I knew they would get together.
Logan peeks inside the white room, a grin appearing on his face. "Hello, my love." Her sweet, yet tired, voice filled his ears. His legs speedily walk over to the edge of the bed. Logan's fingers gently held her chin as their lips joined together.
Ororo felt the prickly touch of his growing beard against her skin. Her eyes fill with water as their kiss is broken. Burying her face into his shirt, she cried softly as the memories from what seemed like hours ago filled her brain. The burning pain she felt in her back and her free fall to the ground were all she could remember.
She hissed, pulling away from Logan's hold after his hand brushed her back. "Ouch!" Logan jumps back, then frowns. "Darling, let me see." His hand reaches for the hem of her hospital gown, gently lifting it. A large bruise had formed on her dark skin. The feral beast inside growled, yearning for the taste of blood that belonged to whoever had hurt his mate.
"That bastard!" He roars, smacking the palm of his hand against a chair and knocking it over. Hank enters the room to see Logan's actions. "Please, my friend, calm down." Hank walks over to the other side of Ororo and says, "I'm happy to see you doing well—or, uh, well enough to be alive, I suppose."
Ororo tries to smile but fails. "Hank, I feel weird. I can't feel the wind or the moisture in the air." Her eyes once again filled up with water. She had never felt this deserted by nature before. Hank listens and silently regrets the words he would have to say.
"Yes, Ororo. Inhibitor collars, as we all know, temporarily deactivate our mutant powers through radiation. The X-Cutioner's laser gun shot concentrated doses of that same radiation. It suppresses a mutant's talents at the cellular level through genetics, negating the necessity for a collar itself."
Logan senses the beast's words are frustrating his girlfriend. He holds her hand firmly and kisses her cheek to relax her nerves. She weakly asks, "What does this mean, Hank?" The blue-furry mutant hesitates. "We would have to run some more tests."
Ororo interrupts him and pleads, "Hank, please!" Her desperate outburst startles the men in the room. The water in her eyes is now free-falling down her cheeks. As she cries, she wonders why she can't hear any random thunder outside.
"I'm sorry, Ororo, but the effects appear permanent."
A soft whimper slips past her lips. She felt someone, Logan, push her closer as they embraced her. Her cries and screaming muffled Logan's shirt. Her breathing got stuck in her throat. She felt hot. She felt cold. She felt the struggle to breathe.
"Ororo!"
"Darling relax!"
Her eyes frantically moved around as she scanned the white room. She felt herself lying down on the bed. A piercing scream could be heard. Her hearing was muffled. Was that her scream? It must be since her back was on fire. She trashes around until she feels someone restraining her arms.
"Hold her still, Logan!"
"I'm trying, Beast! Please, baby, I got you!"
She felt many different elements.
Scared.
Sad.
Angry.
Pain.
However, the most agonizing feeling was that she couldn't feel the wind.
After learning the devastating news of her power being taken from her, Ororo's panic attack sent her straight to sleep after Hank sedated her. Logan refused to leave her side; he even had Jubilee bring David instead of collecting the boy himself. David was disappointed since she was sleeping and he couldn't talk to her. He finally relieved his nerves, knowing she was fine. They slept together in Ororo's room. Well, David slept when Logan's insomnia struck.
He experienced a lack of focus as his thoughts drifted away from the task at hand. Resting serenely in the hospital bed before him was his companion. At a different hospital located fifteen minutes away, his ex-love interest had successfully delivered a healthy infant girl. The only information he had regarding Jean and the infant was that they were in good condition and the baby was in excellent health. There is no additional information regarding whether the child is his or not. He deduced that if it were true, his phone would have been constantly ringing. However, Jean, Scott, and Marie, who were at the hospital, were aware of the events that had transpired involving Ororo. Maybe Jean is delaying the delivery of the news to him.
As he drinks his coffee, the door slides open. His tired face makes eye contact with Morph. He had just come back from the hospital with Marie. Logan nods towards the hallway, getting up to meet them there.
"Is it mine?" Logan asks, leaning against the wall. Marie stares at her father figure; he is starting to form heavy bags under his bloodshot eyes. Her gloved hand rested on his shoulder, giving it a light massage. Logan looks up at her as the girl nods her head. He scoffs, shaking his head in disbelief. In twenty-four hours, his girlfriend was shot, causing her to lose her powers, and now he's a father. He looks at his phone, hoping to see that maybe it was his insomnia playing tricks on him. Sadly, it wasn't. Jean didn't call at all. Morph watches Logan's face scroll and speaks up, "Jean's tired, Logan. She was up for about two hours after giving birth, then she passed out. If she doesn't come home in the morning, I'm sure she'll personally call and tell you."
"Or One Eye had taken her and my kid halfway to California by now."
Marie slaps Logan's shoulder at his accusation. "He wouldn't do that! Yes, Scott is upset about the outcome, but he wouldn't take a kid from their father." Logan rolls his eyes at the teenager. "Yeah, 'cause I would kill him."
Morph and Marie chatted a bit longer with Logan before heading off to bed. His next visitor came to him when he was upstairs making himself a sandwich. It was Scott who was walking past but stopped. The men stood there in silence until Scott spoke up first and said, "Congratulations, Dad."
Logan was slicing his meat with his claws. He looks up and sees the hurt and pain he caused Scott. He couldn't gloat about knocking up Jean. Logan would've blown up if Scott had knocked Ororo up. Acknowledging this, Logan retracts his claws and pats the X-Men leader on the back. "Thanks, and I'm sorry."
Scott raises an eyebrow over his visor. "Sorry, huh?"
"Sorry for everything. After messing with you and Jean's relationship, now there's a baby involved, and it's mine. I know how much you want kids, and I took that joy from you with this one." Logan's sudden apology startled Scott. He was not expecting this from the man who loved to pick on him. "I didn't love her if that makes you feel better somehow." Logan went on, "It was just the lust I was after with Jean."
Scott nods, sitting on a bar stool and watching Logan return to his sandwich. "I don't know if that makes me feel better, but thanks." He chuckles and then seriously looks at Logan. "I promise I won't let anything bad happen to Rachel and will protect her with my life."
Logan looks up at Scott and nods. "I know you will. Don't worry, I trust you, One Eye." He pushes over a plate, giving Scott his sandwich, and begins making a new one for himself.
The next morning, Jean and baby Rachel came home. The mansion threw a welcome home party for the baby. The only person missing from the party was Logan. Jean was walking down the medical halls of the lab with Rachel in her arms. She stops in front of Ororo's room, knocking on it before pressing the button to slide the door open.
Ororo was awake and smiled at the sight of her sister and the bundle of joy in her arms. "Jean! Come in, come in." Jean enters the room and takes a seat by the bed. Ororo gently takes the baby from her and coos at the infant. Taking in the infant's features, she looked just like her father, sharing the same face and his black hair. Since both of her parents have blue eyes, it wasn't a shock to Ororo to see her ocean eyes.
"Hello, Rachel. I'm Auntie Ro." The baby coos softly at the dark-skinned goddess.
Jean giggles at her child's fascination with Ororo and says, "She might have to call you Mommy Ro, like David does, if you and Logan get married. Speaking of Logan, where is he? He still hasn't officially met Rachel."
Ororo blushes at the mention of her and Logan getting hitched. "He went to grab David." Jean nods and gently pokes Ororo. The former weather goddess scoots over, letting Jean lay beside her in the hospital bed. "Ro, how have you been holding up since, you know?" Ororo passes the baby back to her mother and sighs.
"I don't know yet. Truthfully, I don't know if I will ever come to terms with the fact that my power is gone just like that."
Jean felt bad for her best friend, her sister. She tries to hold back her tears, but the hormones inside take over. She hugs Ororo's neck tightly with one arm and says, "We'll fix this. Scott and I will be right here by your side until you're well again. I swear." The infant coos loudly as if to say she would be there too, making the women giggle. "Ororo, I must say I do apologize for any difficulties I caused for you and Logan."
The white-haired woman watches her friend as she apologizes: "I was drunk that night; Logan was too! We were being reckless and didn't think about protection. I do regret it, but then again, I don't. That night blessed me with Rachel." The telepath looked like she had more to say, but Ororo stopped her.
"It's okay, Jean. I am not upset with either you or Logan." She smiles genuinely. "I know how much a child means to you and Logan. It is a bit sad, due to your past with him, that his first child wasn't with his girlfriend. However, I came to terms with this months ago, and I'm sure you and Logan will be good co-parents. If he upsets you, don't worry; I'll reel him back in if necessary." Jean smiles at Ororo's honesty, giving her another side hug.
The door slides open, breaking their little moment, and David runs in holding three balloons. "Hi Auntie Jeannie, hi Mommy Ro, and hi Rachel!"
The women gush at how cute the boy is. "Well, hello there, David. Why do you have balloons?" Ororo asks him. The boy walks around to the side of the bed and hands each balloon to the ladies. "One for Auntie, one for Mommy Ro, and one for the baby." He smiles, then looks at the bubbly infant. "I don't think she can hold it, though."
"It's okay; I'll hold it for her." Jean takes Rachel's balloon from him as she slips a kiss on his chubby cheek. Jean looks up at the father of her child. Logan's eyes stared at the bundle in her arms. She leans the baby closer to her mouth, speaking softly in her ear, "Rachel, it's time to meet your daddy." Jean gently gets out of bed and walks over to Logan, who awkwardly holds out his arms.
"Support her head, Logan." He adjusts his arms as his daughter is placed in his care. Rachel looks up, staring into Logan's blue eyes. The newborn smiled, exposing her gums as her arms wiggled around. Logan chuckles and nuzzles the tip of his nose into Rachel's neck, inhaling her fresh baby scent. The young one loudly giggles, gently tugging on her father's beard.
Yup! He's wrapped around her tiny finger.
Ororo and Jean look at each other, giggling from sharing thoughts.
Two weeks later, the thrill of having a newborn in the mansion quieted down. Meanwhile, Ororo was working on her training since she had her powers taken; she trains every day morning and evening in the Danger Room working on her hand-to-hand combat skills with Logan, or if he's not around, she can get his best students, Marie or Jubilee.
One night after her training session with Marie, she was in the shower, relaxing her muscles with the slightly burning water. She raises an eyebrow suddenly at the sound of a door opening and shutting. She yanks back her shower curtain and sees Logan, who was caught trying to scare her, making him jump instead. "Damn Ro!"
"Serves you right, sir! I do not see why you love to try frightening me so much."
She could hear him chuckle and hear the sound of his belt buckle loosening. "I need to keep you on your toes, darling." He reaches for the curtain, pulling it back as he steps into the shower behind her. His arms wrapped around her wet body.
Ororo smiles as he holds her back to his chest. His rough hands softly rubbed against her smooth skin. Her body is grinding against him as she feels him get aroused. His hands ascend to her round breasts, where he massages them, eliciting a moan. The sudden pinch of her nipple makes her hiss loudly.
Logan pushes her against the foggy glass, holding her knees up from under her. "I'm sorry I missed our session tonight." He whispers against her neck before sucking on her skin. His teeth were biting down as if he were Dracula trying to suck out her blood.
Her arms wrap around his neck, enjoying his love bites. "It's alright, my love." Logan's hand travels down to her wet labia and rubs against her clit sending shivers of pleasure throughout Ororo's body. She hisses, "Oh goddess! L-Logan!"
His digits moved simultaneously inside her hole. Her juices, along with the water from the shower, drowned his fingers. Her sweet moans were music to his ears. He craved to hear more. He moves Ororo in his arms to the triangular corner seat installed in her shower. Logan takes a seat and roughly smacks the palm of his hand against her ass cheek. The image of her ass rippling from the impact of his hand made him groan as he grew harder under the goddess.
"Christ Ororo, you're such a beauty, darling." Logan licks his lips as he admires her raw beauty. Her dark skin against the light steam. The water droplets were running down her body, dripping off her nipples. Ororo reaches down to his penis, stroking it a few times as she straddles herself perfectly as she sits herself down on his thick member, feeling it split her open. The couple groans loudly as the sparks hit them.
His arms once again tightly held them chest-to-chest. Ororo bounces slowly at first until she finds a good rhythm and pace, keeping herself steady. Logan's hips collide with her as she lowers them, causing her moans to intensify. "Goddess! Logan!"
She manages to catch a glimpse of his eyes. His blue eyes were now dark; she knew the beast inside him was coming out. Ororo squeals as he suddenly switches positions, putting her in the missionary position. Logan grunts and growls deeply as his hands tightly squeeze his mate's waist while her legs lock against his waist.
His hips steadily pick up speed. Ororo felt her breath get stuck in her throat as he pounded against her most sensitive spots. She manages to squeak out a small, "Fuck!"
Logan leans down, kissing her forehead before leaning his lips against her ear. "Hold it, 'Ro." Her eyes widen as she feels a hand wrap around her throat. She whimpers, saying that she can't hold back any longer. Logan's rough strokes were intensifying the rumbling in her lower belly, and her orgasm was edging closer.
"Be a good girl and hold it!"
His dominant tone forces her to submit, struggling to hold her orgasm back. Her tears well up as the rumbling intensifies. Ororo's French tips scratched against his arms and hairy chest. Logan didn't mind the slight pain she caused him. He wanted more of it. Crashing his lips against hers roughly, he let their tongues wrestle. A light rope of saliva breaks apart as he pulls away.
"Let it go, honey."
With his permission, Ororo relaxes and lets the pleasure take over her body. Her back was arching as Logan pounded her even harder through her orgasm, grunting loudly in her ear. He shoots out his thick semen inside of her as her own cum covers his penis.
The couple was breathing heavily. Logan smirks and kisses Ororo's cheek before standing up with her, his quick healing power recharging his energy, helping her wash up as well as washing his own body. After their love-making shower, Ororo gains some energy to walk out on her own. She heads to her dresser and slips on a silk nightgown with lace lining the hem of the bottom of it and around her breasts.
"Heard up!" She calls out to Logan as he steps out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist, throwing a pair of boxers at him. He catches it and thanks her with a kiss before putting it on. He crawls into the bed where she laid, her long, smooth legs out on display and her breasts squished together as she lies on her side watching him.
"Love, how was Rachel's appointment?"
Logan explains that Rachel was growing at a steady, healthy pace. "Doc said she's a bit faster than infants her age, but it ain't nothing to fuss about." Ororo listens and senses something bothering Logan.
"That's good, dear. Now, please tell me what's wrong." She asks as a hand of hers caresses his jawline. Logan growls, remembering the fight he had with Jean.
"The bitch had the nerve to give me a schedule on when I could see my kid."
Ororo frowns at his cussing but understands he was genuinely upset at whatever took place. There was no way Logan could vent without using foul language, even if it meant calling Jean out of her name.
"She said I could spend time with Rachel on the weekends. Weekends Ro! There are seven fucking days out of the week, and I can spend time with her on weekends. For fuck sake, I live in the same mansion as her, and my time with her is only reasonable on weekends! It's not like we live an hour apart or in different cities."
Logan sits up on the bed with his lip curling upwards as he growls deeply. Ororo gently rubs his arm as she sits up as well and crawls behind him to rub his shoulders to relax his tension. She gently asks, "Would you like me to speak with her?"
Ororo didn't want to interfere with the way Jean and Logan dealt with their parenting. The same thing with Scott: they would only interfere if one or both of them felt it was absolutely necessary. In this instance, she can tell that Logan was genuinely upset about it and was aware that Rachel would ultimately suffer the most as a result.
Logan shook his head as he leaned into her touch. "No thanks, baby. I don't have to follow what she wants anyway." He scoffs, remembering what Jean had said in the Jeep on the way back to the mansion. "You can have all your time with her during the weekends." He mimicked her voice, purposefully making Jean sound as if she had a nasal infection.
"Love, did you call Jean out of her name to her face?"
"Nah."
She kisses his shoulder, then lays back down, dragging Logan down with her. He wraps his arms around her as his chest presses against her back. "Promise me you have a civilized conversation with Jean about this in the morning?"
Logan rolls his eyes and groans, "I'm not a civilized person, Ro. Especially when someone is trying to keep my baby girl away from me." Ororo rubs a hand on top of his.
"What if I was there to meditate?"
Logan contemplates the idea, then sighs. "Sure darling."
How do you all feel about that sex scene? Was it too much, too little, or just right? Our Logan is a new dad! I'm excited to develop his future relationship with Rachel. Scott and Logan finally put their differences aside for Rachel's sake! Can we talk about how mature Ororo is?! That goddess is better than me. It looks like there's going to be some baby mama drama with Jean.
How do you guys feel about the events in this chapter? I can't wait to read your reviews!
