Chapter 2: Battle of Emotions

When she woke up, the first thing she saw was Ron kneeling down in front of her.
"Ron, what happened?"
"They're gone Kim. Drakken and Shego escaped".

"Great," Ron helped Kim, who was lying on the ground, back to her feet.
So a defeat. A bitter feeling.

Soon Kim was back on her feet at Middleton School.
"Hey KP," she greeted Ron. "Heard anything new from Wade yet?" "No, no new news about Shego and Drakken either."
"Oh, Kim, the defeat still bothers you, even if it's been a week since they escaped? But don't worry, as soon as they show up again, we'll catch them and save the world once again."
"Yeah, you're probably right Ron."
"Are we going to Bueno Nacho after school?"
"Can't Ron. I have Chearleeder training".

She spent the rest of the week waiting for a message from Wade but nothing happened. There was radio silence and there was no sign of Shego and Drakken, as if they had been swallowed up by the earth.

But Kim often thought back to the fight with Shego.
She felt like she was missing something, as if there was something wrong with the rhythm of her life if she wasn't clashing with Shego at least once a week and foiling Dr Drakken's plans for world domination-
Kim could never completely shake off her admiration for Shego, she had to admit. Her fighting style was just perfect to fight against her. She was the perfect enemy for them; no one else was a match for her in a duel. Not Monty Fist, not Duff Killigan, not DNSter, not Drakken...
No, just her. She alone was made to fight with her, Kim knew that.
The adrenaline rush it gave her to fight with her was tremendous.
Then she heard the sound of her Kimmunicator.
Her heart beat faster. Maybe a new message from Shego?
"What's on Wade? New news of Drakken's whereabouts."
Wade cleared his throat. "Nothing yet Kim. Ron spoke to me. He said you've been very depressed since the Drakken got away." Kim sighed, "It's just...I'd rather see those two criminals behind bars you know. They're still out there."
"Yes but be patient Kim. Time will tell what Drakken has planned next. Until then, be patient."
"All right, Wade, I understand," she said, barely hiding the resignation in her voice.
She hung up and put the kimmunicator on the nightstand. It had already become dark.
Kim Possible lay down and fell asleep.
She dreamed of her fight with Shego in Drakken's base.
She saw her in her green and black suit, her green eyes looked at her with hostility, her long black hair hung smoothly from her shoulders, her lips were always dark from the dark lipstick she used. Her green plasma beams danced over her hands always when she was in battle.
"Well, Princess, not concentrating?" Shego grinned as if she knew how to read Kim's thoughts.

Kim didn't realize she had just been staring at her for a while. She was truly beautiful, she had to admit that. Even if she would never admit it to her. "Have you had enough of looking at me now Kimmi, do you want to keep staring like that or do we want to fight now?"
Kim blushed and got into a fighting stance. "Well then, show me what you can do."
Shego smiled. "With the greatest pleasure".
She came towards them and immediately attacked.
With a well-aimed blow she caused Kim to stumble.
She fell down and Shego leaned over her before Kim brought her down with a well-aimed kick, wrestling with her and getting very close to her.
She felt Shego's fingers curl into hers.
"You're getting weak, Princess," Shego sneered, licking his lips. Then the unthinkable happened, she came very close to Kim with her mouth so that she could feel her hot breath on her face and she kissed Kim on her lips.
When their lips met, Kim was surprised at first, but ultimately gave in to the kiss.
Kim Possible awoke in her room, brightly lit by the light of the morning sun. Completely confused as to why she had to have such a dream about her nemesis. And yet she felt the urge to make the dream come true. Even if these forbidden thoughts immediately scare her again. She couldn't possibly have developed romantic feelings for her nemesis, could she?
She never thought she could and she knew full well that it was very unlikely that Shego could ever reciprocate those feelings. Yes, it was almost impossible that this dream could ever become reality. Shego was, after all, an inveterate criminal and she was a hero. You couldn't find greater contrasts anywhere. With these thoughts she got ready for school. Even if the desire to finally meet Shego again only got bigger inside her.
She fervently hoped it would be like this again soon.
