Fox followed Sly to the Burger King, and they sat down in the area where the others were.
"Who is this?" Donnie and Tails both asked.
"His name is Fox." Sly answered. "Found him in a vehicle, unconscious. Decided to get him out."
"It's an Arwing." Fox corrected Sly.
"Sorry. Arwing." Sly took the correction. The waiter, who is none other than Dave the Intern, came up to take Fox's order. Right?
"Hey, raccoon dude, I thought you said 4 people and not 5." Dave said, with his weird voice catching Sly's attention.
"About that, I found the 5th person lying in... something, so I woke him up." Sly said with an awkward grin on his face. I have a lot of explaining to do. Sly thought.
"Fine. What would this guy like to order?" Dave asked.
"Coca-Cola would be fine, I guess." Fox answered. Dave walked away.
I guess I got lucky. Sly thought as the Coca-Cola was served on the table.
"Hey, don't I recall seeing that Waddle Dee somewhere?" Fox asked.
"Wanya 'anya. Wanya wanya!" (I've definitely seen you.) Waddle Dee said.
"Dang it. My translator wasn't updated to know this language." Fox reacted as Waddle Dee spoke. "Slippy, can you-" Fox cut himself off as he heard static.
"Bummer, Fox. There's no signal out here, according to Donnie." Sly said. Fox picked up the Coca-Cola can with his left hand, but it hurt.
"Ow!" Fox grabbed his left hand. "What the heck!"
I'm certain he has a broken wrist. Waddle Dee thought. It's a curious detail that Waddle Dees think in English, while they speak in Waddlenian.
"Hey, that waiter was able to understand Waddle Dee and what drink he wanted. You could ask him to translate what Waddle Dee said." Sly explained to Fox.
"Alright." Fox got out of his seat and headed towards Dave. "Hey, I heard you can understand the Waddle Dee over there. Can you translate what he's saying?" Fox asked Dave.
"Only if you pay me two dollars. I really need it to pay off my bills." Dave said with a smirk.
"Fine." Fox sighed. He handed the two dollars to Dave.
"Great." Dave walked over to Waddle Dee. "Can you repeat what you said, Bandana Waddle Dee?"
"Wanya 'anya. Wanya wanya!" (I've definitely seen you.) Waddle Dee repeated.
"So, what did he say?" Fox asked.
"He said 'I've definitely seen you.' Any questions?" Dave asked.
"How did you translate that?" Sly asked.
"I was a transfer student and double majored Waddlenian in my freshmen year in college." Dave answered as he walked away into the cashier area.
Talk about smart. Waddle Dee thought.
"So, where else is there?" Sly asked as he shot up from his seat.
"Nothing... not even my GPS—which has all locations installed—can trace anything." Tails replied.
"Seems like we need to dig deeper." Sly said.
Paris, the Hideout
8:02 PM
"Murray, I've been overestimating—and underestimating—things this whole time!" Bentley shouted.
"Huh?" Murray questioned.
"Sly didn't warp back in time any further. In fact, he's probably in present day Ohio!" Bentley figured it out. Sly was in Ohio, not ancient Egypt.
"How did you find that out?" Murray asked.
"I traced Sly's Binoc-U-Com signal from a radio tower in Ohio. It was only available for three seconds, and the IP address was the same as Sly's!" Bentley was ready to take action and head to Ohio.
