Lunchtime rolled around, and Charlie sat with Ashely and Eric, feeling worn out by the number of boys trying to hit on her and the amount of math she had to do.
"Now I get why my old school doesn't bother with math." She said, sighing.
"You never took math class?" Eric asked.
"Tried it once. Hurt my brain from thinking so much." Charlie said, feeling the same pain coming back.
"Well, we can help you if you want," Ashely said.
"Sure, because I barely understand any of this!" Charlie said, holding up the papers.
"Chill, girl. Let me show you how the problem works." Ashley said, moving over to help her.
Eric shook his head as he noticed many guys staring at Charlie. He also saw how pretty Charlie was but she already said she was in a relationship and he learned his lesson about falling for a girl's looks. If anything, he was more than willing to be her friend.
"Get it now?" Ashely asked.
"I think so," Charlie said, trying to use the same thing Ashley taught her on the next question.
She was soon answering her test, finding the problems much easier. She soon finished it, surprising Ashley and Eric.
"Wow! That was a lot easier than I thought. Maybe I should try having my dad do this in Hell School." Charlie said.
"Hell...School?" Eric asked, making Charlie flinch.
"Oh! Is it because people say that school can be hell at times? I guess that's true." Ashley said, making Charlie sigh.
"By the way, are you going to eat that?" Ashley asked, pointing to Charlie's lunch.
"Oh! Right. I guess I forget." She said, blushing.
She put away her papers and started to eat. She looked at Ashley and Eric, wondering if she should tell them the truth. They seem nice, but will they even accept the fact she's the daughter of Lucifer himself?
School ended, and Charlie followed Ashley and Eric out of the building. It was different from her old school. Who knew that a human school was almost the same as hell?
"Say, Charlie, I've been meaning to ask this, but how did you meet your girl? Vaggie, was it?" Ashley asked.
"Well, I didn't meet her until after an...horrible event that happens in my home every year. I was looking for anyone who needed help when I spotted her lying on a dumpster. It turned out one of her eyes was torn out." Charlie said.
"OH MY GOD!" Ashely shouted, shocked.
"Did you call the hospital?" Eric asked.
"It was too far. So I cover it and nurse back to health. We didn't start dating until much later. She was very unsure and scared. But I did everything I could. I even cover one of my own eyes to get a better idea of how I can understand Vaggie's problem. I had to throw out most of the stuff that was far too dangerous for her and was really pointy and could lose her other eye. Most of it was my dad's stuff, but he was planning on getting rid of them for a long time and he wasn't mad at all for it." Charlie explained.
"Wow..." Ashley said, surprised.
"That was nice of you," Eric added, nodding.
"She has become a little overprotective of me, but I do reel her back, reminding her I can take care of myself," Charlie added.
"Wow, that's some girl you got," Eric said, nodding.
"I know. I wish there was a way I could reach her. She's, no doubt, worried sick about me." Charlie added, sighing.
"Do you have her number?" Ashley asked.
Charlie blinks before reaching into her pocket. To her surprise, she still had her Hell Phone!
"Oh my Lucfier! I completely forget!" Charlie said, quickly checking to see if she could send anything.
"Did she just say..." Ashley asked, looking at Eric.
"I think she did," Eric said, raising an eyebrow.
Charlie found Vaggie's number before taking a deep breath. She hit call and waited.
"CHALIRE!"
Charlie had to hold the phone away from her when Vaggie picked up.
"Hey, Vaggie...how's it going?" Charlie said, nervous.
"Charlie, where are you!? We have been looking all over for you!" Vaggie said.
"It's a bit of a story, but I'm fine," Charlie said, trying to calm her down.
"We were very close to calling your Dad! Where are you?" Vaggie told her.
Charlie looked around before whispering into her phone.
"I'm on Earth." She said.
"YOU'RE WHERE?!" Vaggie shouted, making Charlie hold her phone away again.
"Wow, she must be really worried about you," Ashley said, blinking.
"Charlie? Who was that?" Vaggie asked, hearing her.
"Um, just some new people I met. They've been helping me since I got here." Charlie said before putting her phone on speaker.
"Hi! You're Vaggie, right? I'm Ashley!" Ashley said, smiling.
"And I'm Eric," Eric added.
"Hon?" Vaggie asked.
"It's a long story, Vaggie. I'll explain later." Charlie said, not sure if she should tell them yet.
"Okay? But are you hurt?! Are they treating you well?! Do you need me to find something to come up..." Vaggie started.
"Vaggie! I'm fine! Ashley is letting me stay with her family for now and both she and Eric helped me deal with school." Charlie said, stopping her.
"School?" Vaggie asked, confused.
"Again, I'll explain later. If my Dad asks, tell him I'm fine and I'm doing okay." Charlie told her.
They heard her sigh before hearing something smack into a desk.
"Vaggie?" Charlie asked, worried.
"I'm tired. I was up for 32 hours looking or waiting to hear from you. Why didn't you call sooner?" She said.
"I...might forgotten I have my phone on me?" Charlie said though it sounded more like a question.
"Charlie..." Vaggie started before sighing again.
"I'll let everyone know you're fine. But I want the FULL story later." She said.
"No problem! Talk to you later! Love you!" Charlie said, hanging up.
"Again, that some girl you got," Eric said.
"I know." Charlie sighs.
"Well, the day is still young, want to head to the store?" Ashley said.
"Ashley, we have homework, remember?" Eric reminds her.
"Fine, the park then!" She said.
Eric rolled his eyes as Charlie smiled.
'For a couple of humans, there's not so bad.' She thought.
Little did she know, she was being watched by a few more people.
"That's the new girl?" One asked.
"I heard that she has just about every guy wrapped around her finger." Another added.
"So, is she bad?" A third asked.
"What are you doing, Sisters?" May asked, seeing them.
"May?! Didn't anyone tell you not to sneak up on someone?" The first girl said.
May looked confused before noticing they were looking at Charlie.
"Why are you spying on Charlie?" May asked.
"Hold up, her name is Charlie?! Why is she using a guy's name?!" The second girl asked.
"Her full name is Charlotte, but she told me herself that she prefers Charlie," May said.
"What a weirdo." The first girl said, rolling her eyes.
"Yeah, you don't see a guy using a girl's name." The second girl agreed.
"Sisters, that's enough. We have no right to judge someone because of their name. If she prefers to be called Charlie instead of her own name, we must respect that." May said.
"Sure, because she's so special." The first girl said, mocking.
"I don't know, she looks kind of cute." The third girl said.
She notices her other two friends glare at her, making her flinch.
"Anyways, we don't need weirdos in this town." The first girl said, making May sigh.
"And we sure don't need people like you!"
They all turned and saw Cassie walking up, glaring at them.
"Sister Cassie. This is a first." May said.
"Don't get used to it. I heard that she was pulled away from her friends. I'm not heartless to kick a person down like that." Cassie said.
"If you say so," May said.
"As for three, beat it! That girl is mine! I will not allow someone like her to overthrow me!" She added, making the three girls leave.
"Sister Cassie, you really need to stop trying to live up to your superbia," May said.
"Super-what?" Cassie asked.
"Your Pride. It's clear to me that Charlie doesn't care about her pride. If anything, she more worry about her friends and family back home." May said.
"Whatever, that girl is going down," Cassie said, walking away.
May sighs, wondering if anyone in this town even cared about other people's feelings.
And that's going to be it for this chapter. So, Charlie dealt with Math Class, and Ashely helped her. Charlie then told them a bit about Vaggie and how the first few days of their lives started off rough. And the idea of Charlie covering one of her eyes came from R-FakonWolf from DeviantArt. She made a few strips of Vaggie living her first 4 days with Charlie.
Ashley helped remind Charlie that she had her phone with her, and she called Vaggie, who was really worried about her. Charlie did let her know she was okay and wanted to wait until she was alone to tell her the full story. She's still unsure about telling Ashley and Eric who she really is.
And don't bother with the three girls spying on her. They're not going to be anything special with them. They're just random people I threw in. And Cassie isn't too much of a bitch, showing that she does understand that Charlie was away from her family and friends is not going to mock her on that, but she doesn't like how Charlie is getting all the attention in school.
And I am going over possible ideas of how Charlie will eventually tell everyone the truth about herself, but I'm trying to save it for much later. And I'm open to any ideas you guys might have. I got two ideas of my own, but I like to hear yours.
