**One more for you guys. This story has my full attention at the moment. I'm determined to finish this soon. Let's see what new drama has arisen. **
**Trigger warning: kidnapping, inappropriate touching in this chapter. **
"Scott." Isaac called me from his room. I jumped up and hurried down the hall to see what was going on. He didn't sound panicked but did sound worried.
"What's up?" I asked.
"I think it's happening." He said, handing me an earbud to the system that was monitoring Allison. I grabbed a chair and sat, taking it from him and putting it in to listen.
"Hello? Is anybody there? Hello?" Allison called out. I could hear her panting and the fear starting to rise in her voice.
"Breathe Allison, you got this. we are right here. Just breathe." I murmured as Isaac chewed on his bottom lip while listening.
"Are you sure she'll be okay?" he asked.
"Turn on your tracker." I told him, knowing that he had access to her location. He did and we watched the little red dot blink in a warehouse just outside of town.
"We know where she is, and we can listen in. we will make sure she is fine." I told him. "You guys researched every possible way to escape the last two days, right?" I asked. He nodded. "Then she will be fine."
"I don't like this Scott. I don't trust Kate." He said.
"I don't either. But we have to trust Allison and we know that Argent would never let anything happen to her."
"Yeah. Okay."
"Actually, let me text everyone so that they know, and I'll check and see if Stiles is monitoring as well." I said, running out to grab my phone before coming back. We could still hear Allison call out but receiving no response. Kate was drawing this out as much as possible it seemed. I called Stiles first putting it on speaker. It rang 3 times before he picked up.
"Hey Scott, what's up?" he asked, sounding winded.
"You okay?" I asked, concerned.
"Yeah, I just uh… I'm fine. What's going on?"
"Uh, okay. Well, we are listening to Allison now. Looks like the kidnapping portion of hunter training has started."
"Really. Okay, we'll turn it on now and listen in. Are you guys tracking her?" he asked. I so wanted to ask who we was but didn't. I know for a fact that Lydia is out with her mom right now so it's not her. I had an idea but wasn't going to voice it.
"Yeah we are. I'm going to send a group text, so everyone knows to be on alert just in case."
"Okay, I'm turning it on now. Talk afterwards."
"yep." I said disconnecting then pulled up the group chat.
"Did he say we?" Isaac asked, quirking a brow. I grinned and nodded.
"he sure did."
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" he smirked back.
"Yes I am, and we are so teasing him about that later." I told him. He laughed and agreed.
SCOTT – HUNTER TRAINING PART 2 IS HAPPENING NOW. LISTENING IN AND TRACKING HER.
Two seconds was all it took to start getting replies.
DEREK – OKAY. LET US KNOW IF WE NEED TO INTERVENE.
MR. S. – COPY THAT.
MOM – KEEP US POSTED.
LYDIA – HERE WE GO.
ARGENT – I'M ON MY WAY OVER. I WANT TO HEAR THIS. BE THERE IN 5.
SCOTT – OKAY.
"Argent's coming over. Should be here in a few minutes." I told Isaac who was listening intently, nervously shaking his leg. "Still nothing?" I asked, putting my bud back in.
"No and she's starting to freak out."
"I can imagine but she's strong. She can handle this."
We both listened hearing only her talking, shouting more like it, with a few whimpers thrown in when there was a knock on the door. I rushed down the stairs and opened it for Argent waving for him to follow me back upstairs.
"Anything happen yet?" he asked.
"No, it's just her still in the room. She keeps calling out, but no one is responding."
"This whole time?" He asked, incredulously.
"Yeah, how long is this usually?"
"usually, they are taken to a secluded area, tied down and blind folded. Maybe they sit in silence wondering for a few minutes. Then someone, usually their trainer would come in and explain exactly what's going on before giving them room to try to get free on their own. But we wouldn't just leave them sitting forever in silence. How long have you guys been listening?" he asked as we entered the room.
"About 15 minutes. No one has come in or said anything. She's really freaking out now." Isaac said, his eyes wide and worried. "I don't like this Scott. I know how quickly panic can turn into hysterics, especially when you are trapped like this. Dad use -." He started, his own panic ramping up.
"Isaac, breathe. This is not the same as that, I promise. We will not let anything happen to her. Everyone is on alert. Derek is ready to move at the first sign of trouble. We three, along with Cora and Stiles are monitoring everything. We have her location. She will be safe no matter what we have to do to make sure of it, okay?" I said, bracing his shoulders. He looked ready to jump out of his skin.
"yeah, okay. You're right." He said, trying to calm himself down. Argent looked curiously between us but didn't ask the obvious questions. He may later but it wasn't my story to tell. This is something Isaac would have to share if and when he felt comfortable doing it.
"Unplug the earphones so we can all hear." I told him. He pulled out the cord and the sound of Allison's rapid breathing sounded through the room. Argent's eyes narrowed as he listened, his hands clenching at his sides. He wasn't liking how this was playing out either.
"What is she playing at. Allison shouldn't be this panicked. This is supposed to be training. She should be guiding her right now or at least explaining." He said.
We all continued to listen but besides her starting to cry there was nothing. Or there was nothing until Allison screeched. we all jumped up from our seats wondering what the hell is going on. Argent sneered at the equipment and Isaac looked ready to race out the door. My phone rang and I answered it quickly.
"Did you guys hear that?" Stiles asked.
"Yeah we are listening now… wait, I think I can hear footsteps through the mike, hold on." I said, listening closely. I definitely heard footsteps and then Allison shrieked again.
"Don't fucking touch me." she screamed. We heard a distinct male chuckled before Allison screamed for them to stop.
"What the hell." Isaac said. Argent stood frozen, his face going blank and if I couldn't scent the anger rolling off him I would think he had gone into shock.
"Scott, should we intervene?"
"I don't know. Maybe. Let me call Derek. We'll get ready to head out just in case." I said.
"yeah, do that. this is making me nervous-." He started but we all stopped, holding our breath as finally someone spoke.
"Focus Allison." Kate said sharply. I think on some level we were all relieved that she was finally saying something.
"Kate?" She called, breathing raggedly.
"Is this how you would act if you were being kidnapped? Sit there crying? You have to focus so you can escape."
"Escape? Wha… what are you talking about?"
"Just imagine if I wasn't here and the enemy really did take you." Kate said, and I could faintly hear footsteps coming closer. "Do you know what a werewolf is capable of? Even as a hunter you would be helpless if they captured you like this."
Allison tried to calm her breathing down.
"You bound to a chair not able to move. Completely at their mercy. They could do anything they want with you like this." The last part said breathily and clearer, as if she were whispering it in her ear. "They could… torture you… kill you…"
"What the fuck is she doing?" Argent growled. Isaac stood, hands fisting and releasing rapidly as he listened, his adrenaline high and his heartbeat erratic.
"Hell, they could take advantage of you. there's no telling with monsters like that." Kate said almost nonchalant about it all. I felt the switch in my eyes and heard the growl bubble up as I tried not to crush my phone in my hand.
"This is sick." I heard Cora say in the background on the phone.
"You have to be ready to fight Allison. you have to be prepared for anything. if you are taken they won't just release you and send you home. You will have to free yourself. So do it. Get free Allison. Time. Starts. Now." Kate said, then I heard footsteps leading away, before the sound of metal scraping against metal and a few seconds later the same sound followed by a loud clang.
"She closed her in." I whispered.
"Scott, what do we do?" Stiles asked. I listened closely to Allison taking long deep breaths and hopefully focusing on getting free.
"We let her get free." I said. Isaac and Argent looked at me. "She panicked in the beginning because she didn't know if this was the actual test or not. But now she knows and she's strong and smart enough to handle this. I know it. And despite how Kate did this she really does love her, she's not going to abandon her or hurt her. we just have to give her time and keep listening."
"you're right, she is strong." Argent said, relaxing minimally.
"Okay, I'll keep listening and recording. Talk when its done." Stiles said.
"Okay." I said disconnecting. Isaac's pulse wouldn't settle, and he refused to sit, he just paced as we listened to her breathe.
"Come on honey. You can do this. Please do this." Argent whispered his encouragement.
"Okay, no more crying Allison, you got this. Just like you practiced with Isaac. You can do this." Allison said, giving herself a little pep talk.
"Come on Allison, come on." Isaac mumbled.
We all heard a harsh growl on the other end before Allison let out a warriors battle cry and then we heard the sound of wood breaking. Another shout and more wood breaking before she went silent panting at the exertion. The rustle of clothing and then her footsteps. We all felt relieved. She was free. Metal against metal sounded again before the sound of wind rustling by the mike.
"Good job." Kate said, you could hear the smile in her voice. "I knew you could do it."
"I'm not sure I like you right now." Allison said, a bit of fear still there but masked with resentment.
"I know. Sorry. But this was necessary. Come on I'll take you home and explain." Though she said the words, her tone didn't match at all. She wasn't sorry for what she did.
We listened to them walking over leaves and dirt before the sounds of car doors opening and closing and then the start of the engine. Besides the wind whistling by it was quiet for quite a while before Allison spoke.
"Who touched me?" she bit out.
"Sweetie, listen-."
"Who the hell touched me?" she asked again.
"I wouldn't have let him hurt you. it was all part of the exercise." Kate sighed as if this was no big deal.
"So, groping me was part of the damn exercise? What would have been the next part? full on molestation or maybe all out rape? What the hell Kate?" she said, her voice getting louder. Argent bit out a litany of curses and Isaac growled, sounding more wolflike then I expected.
"Of course not. I would have never let that happen. But this was necessary. You need to know what could happen if the enemy ever captures you. They aren't civilized Allison. Not like us. They're animals… monsters… abominations that need to be wiped out. you need to understand that." Kate said. "I get that this was scary. Hell, it was scary for me when I went through it. this isn't a game, there's no safe word or pause button for what could happen, and you need to be prepared."
"Right." Allison gave a humorless chuckle.
"Look, if you want to be in this business you have to be tough. You have to be strong and smart. You can't let your emotions rule you. in that kind of situation, you have to stay calm and keep focused. Take note of any sounds or smells around you. make a plan and execute it. no crying, no screaming, no calling for help. you have to save yourself."
More silence followed.
"You're right. I have to save myself." Allison repeated.
"Good girl. I'm actually really proud of you. you panicked in the beginning, but you pulled through, and you escaped faster then I thought you would. So, what did you learn?"
"stay focused, pay attention to as much of my surroundings as I possibly can, make a plan and execute it."
"And know your enemy. The guy that helped with this isn't exactly an enemy but now you know if someone is willing to go that far, assume they will go further."
"Okay."
"And despite how angry you are at me right now; you know I'll always be here to help you."
Allison didn't respond to that.
"You hungry? Doing something like that usually works up an appetite. I can swing by a fast-food place on the way home?"
"No, we're almost home. I'll grab something there." She replied and then it fell silent again.
"I'm going to go get her and bring her back here. Can we get everyone here?" Argent asked.
'Sure, I'll text everyone now." I told him. he rushed out. Isaac sat heavily on the bed, head in hands as he took deep calming breaths.
"I can't believe that just happened." He said.
"I know, me either."
"Was it like that the first time around?"
"No, at least I don't think so. Allison mentioned nothing about what Kate said being said the first time. But her father was the one that trained her on this part before." I said pulling up the group chat.
SCOTT – SHE'S OUT. BUT I THINK WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT THIS. CAN EVERYONE GET HERE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE? MOM, MR. S. WE CAN FILL YOU GUYS IN LATER SINCE YOU'RE AT WORK.
STILES – ON THE WAY
DEREK – LEAVING NOW
LYDIA – BE THERE IN 5
MOM – IS SHE OKAY?
MR. S. – WHAT SHE SAID.
SCOTT – I'LL LET YOU KNOW WHEN SHE GETS HERE.
I didn't get or expect a confirmation from Peter about any of this, so I didn't wait for one. I set my phone down as we continued to listen for another ten minutes. We heard when they pulled into the driveway at Allison's because her fathers voice rang through.
"Hey, where have you girls been?" he asked congenially.
"Just having some girl time." Kate answered.
"Hmmm… Allison, you okay honey?"
"Huh. Oh yeah. just thinking, that's all." Allison answered trying to sound normal but falling short.
"were you perhaps thinking about the party you told Lydia you would help her set up for. I ran into her at the store. She's been trying to reach you." Argent said, coming up with a good story cover for getting her out of there.
"The… party… oh. Shoot, I completely forgot about that. I promised her earlier today."
"Do you want me to take you over there? I need to head back out anyway."
"Sure, thanks. I'll uh, I'll see you later Kate."
"have fun." Kate said.
"Come on sweetheart, let's go."
More car doors opening and closing and another engine starting.
"is she in the house?" Allison asked, her voice going raspy.
"Yes." He told her. we heard Allison break down, taking great gasping breaths as she sobbed.
"Shit." Isaac groaned, running fingers through his hair. I reached over and flipped the switch shutting it off.
"That's enough of that. She's safe now and on her way here. Let's head down." he nodded and followed after me. the front door opened just as we made it to the living room. In walked Stiles and Cora, followed a second later by Derek and Lydia.
"She's not here yet?" Lydia asked, looking around.
"They are on their way now."
"Is she okay?" Stiles asked.
"No." Isaac growled. "No, she's not. What kind of sick twisted shit was Kate pulling? How could she do something like that."
"What exactly happened?" Derek asked. I filled him in on all we heard, not wanting to go over it once she got here. she shouldn't have to go through that again, even a retelling. He listened but stayed quiet, and I wondered if he was reliving his own experiences with Kate. The conversation stopped when the door opened again, and Argent led a shaken Allison into the room.
"Allison." Isaac called softly. She looked up with red rimmed eyes before moving forward and hugging him around the waist. He wrapped her up pressing his face into her hair. Lydia stroked her back but otherwise didn't interfere. Argent caught my eye and nodded towards the kitchen. I nodded and gestured for Derek and Stiles to follow. We gathered at the counter to talk quietly giving her a minute to calm down.
"None of what happened should have happened. I checked the tracker and the building she had her in, is not one of ours. It was a random building unless it's one I was never told about. She said they took her while she was practicing with her bow, right out of her own backyard. That shouldn't have happened either. There's a reason we don't plan these things where the person lives. Because something like this, with the wrong person, can be traumatic and we don't want that to affect them when they should feel safe in their own home." Argent said.
"Was her mom not home? Wouldn't she have put a stop to it?" Stiles asked.
"She was home or supposed to be at least." Argent said, his jaw clenching. "I don't know why she didn't put a stop to it. I'm hoping she didn't know. But one of the rules for this kind of thing is that you have to let the parents know before hand, so they aren't caught off guard. I know Kate wouldn't mention it to me because I'm not technically supposed to know. But Victoria… I just don't know."
"Has Kate ever led one of these exercises before?" Derek asked.
"Not that I know of. Kate's not really the trainer type. She's better in the field. Or at least I thought she was. I'm assuming this is her first time. But she's been through this so she should know better."
"Maybe she doesn't." I said. "I mean if Gerard is the one that trained her maybe this is how he did it. he's not exactly known for his encouraging and caring nature. Look at what he did with you with your first deal."
He nodded. "maybe. I don't know. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how cruelly this was all done. She should not have been sitting there that long and she should not have been touched. What's worse is she cant even tell me who the other person was because she was blindfolded. When she got out, there was only Kate waiting for her."
"How many did she bring with her again?" I asked.
"two, both males. But my team is also close by so it could have been anyone."
"true, but would she use any of your people for this. Especially since you are supposed to be kept in the dark."
"That's something to think about. So, if she didn't use any of my people then she used her own. But there is no way to know which one unless I ask her."
"How are you feeling?" Lydia's voice carried to us. We looked to see her and Isaac sitting surrounding Allison. Cora, looking angry stood nearby, arms crossed, eyes blazing gold.
"Violated." She answered.
"I still don't know what happened." Lydia hesitantly said.
'Come on, I'll tell you." Cora said, nodding towards the door. Lydia stood, with one more pat to Allisons' back and went with Cora onto the porch to talk. We all went into the living room, her father taking the vacant seat next to her and I sat on the table in front of her.
"Allison, it would be completely understandable if you wanted to back out of this. What happened tonight-."
"No." she said with finality.
"Honey tonight went way past anything I am comfortable with you being involved with. We can find another way." Argent told her, placing a hand over hers.
"Dad, no. I want to see this through. I need too." she said, shaking her head. "Tonight was scary and horrible but it also taught me something. She said to know your enemy. That if they will go that far to assume they will go further. Well now I know just how far my enemy will go. I won't give her a chance to go any further. I want to do this dad and now I'm prepared to do it." Allison said. the fierceness I remember her having from before shining in her eyes.
"Do you think you can keep up the act?" I asked.
"Yes, I can do it. I know I was nervous before but I'm not anymore. I won't let her get away with what she's done." She said. Argent leaned over to place a kiss against her temple, hugging her into his side.
"Was your mother there? When you were taken?" argent asked. Allison stiffened.
"Yes, she was in the kitchen. I waved to her as I was practicing and maybe two minutes later there was a bag over my head. I even screamed for help."
Argent closed his eyes, deflating a little.
"What's next on the agenda?" Derek asked, breaking the tense silence.
"I think we need Peter to show himself a bit more but not alone. someone needs to be with him to get him out of there if something jumps off. And then, say in another week, we go to stage three. We need to end this before Kate does anything else crazy. We need her confession." I said.
"So, one more week and then we end the madness." Stiles said.
"Yep. lets just hope nothing else happens to throw us off."
** Oh Scott, don't say things like that. You how things go in Beacon Hills. Well Kate proved just how much of a monster she is. Almost time to put her to rest. Hope you guys enjoyed. Working on next chapter now. **
