"Marinette," Tikki wakes me, "your phone keeps vibrating. Don't you think you should check it?" "Mm," I grunt, still hiding under the covers and feeling around for it. I rub at my bleary eyes, finding messages from Adrien.

Adrien: Rise and shine, Bugaboo!

Marinette: I have not risen, nor I am shining

Adrien: Ah, your beauty makes up for that

Marinette: What do you want, Kitty, I was still sleeping.

Adrien: Oh, how the tables have turned! I remember when you would tip me out of my sleeping box as Cat when I would snore to loud and beam me with a pillow

Marinette:….

Adrien: Would you join me for coffee and breakfast, my love?

Marinette: Adrien, you got injured. You didn't turn into the beast, or at least I hope you didn't.

Adrien: Don't worry, I won't roar at you if you say no, I'll only come annoy you with puns instead

Marinette: Okay, okay! For someone so adorable, your very annoying in the morning

Adrien: Winks I love you too, my sweet Bugaboo

I scramble out of bed, nearly falling down the ladder and causing my own injury. Its rain pretty hard out, so I dress warmly in a white sweater and jeans, putting my hair up and leaving the other half down and applying a white ribbon.

A sea of umbrellas meets me on the sidewalk, and my phone vibrates again.

Adrien: I forgot to mention to meet me at work

Slipping my phone back into my pocket, I turn to the direction of the skyscrapers. I pass a bank of TVs and Tikki and I pause to watch the latest broadcast.

"And in other news, Corvus, the up and coming designer has sold his offices and his mansion, heading to his castle in the north," the reporter says, and Tikki and I glance at each other. "We better tell Adrien right away," Tikki tells me, then burrows back into my purse.

"That was quick and sudden," Adrien replies as we eat a small breakfast picnic in his office. "What do you think he's planning?" I reach for a slice of cheese. "Its a classic move, Adrien, and Corvus isn't stupid. He's trying to flush out into new and unfamiliar territory, so he'll have the upper hand. Plus, if he's hiding from the public eye, it will be harder to see what he's up to."

"So, what's our next move?" "Good thing he's a public figure. With a little digging we'll find his new hideout and follow him." "Which means leaving Paris," Adrien lays a hand on mine. "If we don't, the world could be in danger, love. We don't have a choice."

Adrien stands, holding out his hand. I take it curiously, rising and wondering what he is up to. "Come on, I have a surprise for you."

Mystified, I follow him to the elevator and Adrien hits on of the buttons and we shoot upwards. "Adrien, what-" I ask, and again, he takes my hand.

He opens a small door and we find ourselves on the roof, alone in the rain. Adrien turns to me. "My Lady, may I have this dance?" I nod.

The rain is our musician, and though quiet, the rain is some of the best music I've ever heard as Adrien holds me in his arms, just circling and holding me close. When we grow soaked, we take shelter under the eaves, kissing.

There are no prying eyes or enemies up here, just him and I. The coldness that swept through me yesterday of me being terrified he'd leave once I removed my mask is chased away by his body heat and his lips chase away the ice.

"How's your injury?" I ask, feeling like a mother hen, but if starts bleeding…. Adrien peels away his wet shirt and I softly touch the injured area. I frown, keeping my face a literal mask. Is it supposed to feel this warm? Oh, please, let it not be infected….

Adrien admits he hasn't felt the best, and I stand from crouched position. "Your lucky my mother is a healer. Come in, let's go home."

I don't think Mama is very happy with us being out in the rain, and wears a frown as she ladles fouling smelling green stuff onto Adrien's wound.

Still, the private quiet moments we shared on the rooftop will never leave my memory, a glittering jewel I will have when I am sad.

"I call you when its time for lunch," Mama calls as we head upstairs. "So, when do we leave?" Adrien asks, and even if I know he's right, it means telling my parents I'm leaving. "Adrien, like I said, we need more info. Come on, let's see what more we can find out about…."

My bug phone starts to vibrate and I pull it out, snapping the compact open.

"Corvus, the rising star in the fashion world who left Paris with a sudden departure has bought Evermore Castle in Bogley Woods. It may be a castle, but why he would choose to live there. Most people who go there aren't see again."

"Not if Ladybug and Cat Noir are on it," I snap it shut again. "My Lady," I look up to see Adrien's raised fist. "Pound it?" I grin, happy he has not forgotten our old tradition. "Pound it."

"That was certainly a lucky strike for us, wasn't it?" I flutter my lashes. "They don't call me Lady Luck for nothing."

Adrien logs on and does some research on Bogley Woods. "We won't be able to go straight there," he informs me looking at the map, "But a train runs right below the woods. And we'll need to train and get in shape, if we're going to take him down."

"Sounds good," I yawn, listening to the rain has made me drowsy, and I'm ready for a nap. However, there is much to be done, starting with lunch, and breaking the news to the ones I love.
