Chapter 3 - E-Ooh E-Ooh
The red curtains finished rising.
Chris tightly held the microphone in his hand. "WELCOME EVERYONE! I'm glad you could all make it! Wow! What a big crowd tonight!"
No cheering. No clapping. It was silent.
"Wait a second.." What's going on? Chris rubbed his drunk eyes with his arm. That's when he realized there wasn't a big crowd.
It was a tiny group of people seated at the tables. Five people to be exact. Bridgette, Geoff, Topher, Blaineley, and Justin. They were sitting nearby each other.
Bridgette was holding hands with Geoff. Her head rested on Geoff's shoulder.
The two lovebirds were wearing similar colored clothing. Bridgette was wearing a traditional blue dress, while Geoff had on a blue dress shirt and khaki pants. Geoff's signature cowboy hat was hidden underneath the table.
Topher was sitting in an unprofessional way. His black shoes rested on top of the table. His body was comfortably leaning into the chair. Additionally, he was wearing a dark gray attire (from dress shirt to pants). There was a small recording cassette on his table.
Blaineley was sitting near the front. She was wearing a flashy, red dress. Her blond hair was straightened out. The sparkly earrings stood out from her appearance. She took a small sip of wine from the glass cup. Sip. Her blue eyes were focused on Chris.
And last but not least... Justin. His appearance stood out from everyone else. He was wearing a white shirt. A dark green stylish coat partially covered the white shirt. In addition, he was wearing brown designer pants. The pants were unique because they were gifted to him by a fan. Justin's handsome smile was hard to ignore.
Chris awkwardly laughed a little. "Uhhh.. Big crowd, am I right?" Ha... Haa… Haaa…
"Funny dude. This isn't a big crowd," said Geoff.
"I know, I know. I was just making a joke," responded Chris.
Geoff frowned. He exchanged glances with Bridgette.
"That was a lame joke," whispered Geoff.
Bridgette nodded in agreement. "Yeah," she whispered back.
"Um... Umm..." sputtered Chris. He didn't really know what to say next. This was not the way he expected his retirement ceremony to turn out. Where's everyone else that I invited? I invited SO MANY people. But only a few showed up? Does... Does everyone hate me?
Ahem! "Just hurry up with your speech! I'm waiting for you to announce the new host of Total Drama. ME!" laughed Topher.
"What? I never agreed to that," said Chris.
"Chris, you're going to have to agree to it... You're obviously retiring tonight! I can tell. If you want your beloved Total Drama series to continue, you're going to have to pass the baton over to me," argued Topher. "Didn't you get my memo?"
"Nope," replied Chris. "I never got your memo."
"Strange..." said Topher. "I told my interns to contact you."
Blaineley raised her eyebrow. "You have interns? That's amusing." She chuckled a little, as she took another sip of wine.
"Can you guys PLEASE shut up?" begged Chris. "You're ruining my big moment over here. We're live on national television right now."
"Yeah.. Uh, no. The camera crew isn't even here," pointed out Bridgette.
She was right. There were no cameras in the room.
Chris let out a big sigh. UGHHHH! "This is a complete disaster. Why is this happening to me?!" He started to cry.
"Maybe it's because of Heather's lawsuit?" suggested Justin. "It's trending right now on social media. She's still mad about the Total Drama World Tour ending. You technically haven't given her the prize money yet! It burned up in the volcano."
"That's true," agreed Bridgette. "If I were in Heather's position, I would definitely be mad too."
"Please don't remind me about that," pleaded Chris. He continued to weep. I guess I'm going out like this.. THE WORLD DOESN'T CARE ABOUT ME! They.. They.. They care about Heather more than me! God, damn it! At least things can't get worse than this...
Suddenly, a mysterious sound began to play from the loudspeakers: E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh. E-Ooh.
Everybody exchanged concerned glances.
"What's that sound?" asked Geoff.
"I... I don't know!" stammered Chris.
Bridgette rolled her eyes. "I'm pretty sure Chris has a surprise planned for us," she whispered.
"Awh, rad!" said Geoff. "Let's see what it is!"
SLAM! An army of Squid Game soldiers entered through the entrance doors. There were about one hundred of them. They were dressed in their usual pink suits. All their faces were concealed with black masks. Their black masks were decorated with a variety of different white shapes.
The Squid Game army was equipped with laser guns and machine guns. They began to shoot down the place. PEW! PEW! PEW! PEW! PEW!
"HOLY CRAP! I HATE THIS SURPRISE! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" screamed Geoff.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!" squealed Topher and Blaineley.
Chris, Geoff, Bridgette, Topher, Blaineley, and Justin began to run. They did their absolute best to evade the gunfire.
The gunfire destroyed everything in the venue. Geoff's cowboy hat was disintegrated. Tables collapsed. Forks and spoons flew in the air. Plates were shattered into small, sharp pieces. Chandeliers fell from the ceiling. CRASHHHHHH! One of the chandeliers nearly landed on Chris, but he managed to dodge it.
"CMON CHRIS! KEEP RUNNING!" yelled Geoff. "DON'T STOP!"
"OKAY! OKAY!" cried out Chris. WHY ME?! WHY?!
The Squid Game army continued to chase after them. After one minute of chaos.. All the soldiers surrounded Chris and the others (luckily, nobody was hurt or dead). They stopped firing and slowly lowered their weapons.
"Why did they stop firing?!" asked Blaineley.
Justin shrugged. "I don't know. Something is up with that."
Chris was fuming with anger. "WHERE'S YOUR BOSS?! I DEMAND TO SPEAK WITH YOUR BOSS! NOW."
The music stopped. Several Squid Game soldiers stepped aside.
A mysterious figure walked to Chris. It was Bunhongseak. She was dressed in her usual pink, futuristic suit. There was something in her hand.
"Hey, that's my recording cassette!" said Topher. "Uh, may I please have that back?"
Bunhongseak didn't say anything.
"I'll give you a large sum of money," promised Topher. He gulped a little. "Uh, I don't have the money with me right now. But I can give it to you later electronically or in the form of a nice check!"
"Why do you even have that recording cassette?" asked Blaineley.
Topher smiled a little. "Oh, I was recording everything Chris said. I was waiting for him to say 'Total Drama now belongs to Topher!' for legal reasons."
Chris facepalmed.
All of a sudden, Bunhongsaek let go of Topher's recording cassette. It landed on the floor. Then, she smashed on it (several times) with her black boot.
"Well.. There goes that," sighed Topher.
Chris stepped forward. He stood a few inches away from Bunhongsaek."WHO ARE YOU?! AND WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO US?!"
Bunhongsaek responded by intensely punching Chris' face.
Chris fell to the floor. Why me? His eyes closed, as he blacked out..
