"Can't you do something? You read medical textbooks," the ailing weapon said. "No! We have to go to the hospital," Stein said as his chest constricted in fear, his heart still racing. Spirit shook his head firmly to the negative. Stein withdrew his hand, balled it into a fist at his side along with his other. "Idiot," he said before stalking out of the room.

The Kishin remains trapped beneath the school, Medusa presumed dead, and the DWMA believed victorious. But one victory means little in the grand scheme. There are other witches and demons to fight, other problems to solve, and groups to put down, and the DWMA is left tumbling into a greater conspiracy with an enemy they thought long dead.

After Black*Star and Kid goes on an adventure to find the great Excalibur, Soul can't help but wonder why Maka is not interested in a weapon that is so much better than him.

following the events of her graduating and leaving dwma for a few other missions, Grimoire, the daughter of lord death and friends return to the school as teachers and see the new generation of meisters and weapons. the adventures begin again. Cursed and in a comatose state Maka is forced to relive her memories on a loop. Soul goes in wanting to-no, needing to save her, and comes out knowing the true strength of a memory. Fluff and lots of Anxt. SoulXMaka and light BlackstarXTsubaki.

Spirit wanted to be angry. He wanted to tell Stein that it was none of his business what he did with any girls. But he knew that couldn't really be what was bothering his young friend. "Stein. It's okay, I promise you. They're okay with it. There's nothing wrong with any of it..." Stein tensed further, and Spirit frowned quizzically. "Why do you care, anyway?"

"Stein!" Spirit cried in protest, his voice rising in pitch. "Don't breathe." Spirit blinked, the harsh but monotone directive confusing his train of thought. "What?" he asked, but held his breath nonetheless. "They melt too fast if you breathe."

In which Maka and Soul succeed in making Soul into a Death Scythe on their first try, but the road ahead of them is still full of challenges.

Stein slowly stepped out from behind Lord Death to find the source of the stammering voice, and it stopped abruptly as the boy laid eyes on him. And likewise, almost immediately, the sight before him stole his breath away. "Ah, well. I suppose there's no time like the present. Spirit, this is your new partner, Franken Stein."
