Chapter 5: Discussing What the Future Will Hold
Soon enough the gang reach the hall of African mammals, and they hear roars from the lions, and then the chips of a monkey who crawls over to the them and Teddy says, "Dexter, good timing, there's a new friend here.", the monkey chips more and the two figurines look at him, the lady smiles and says, "He's cute, outside of horses and dogs, monkeys are my favorite animal." The monkey chips happily, Jed tells her, "He maybe cute, but he's a real handful, he once peed extra pee on me and Ockie when saving us from lava."
Teddy asks, "Is that something happened during our separation in England?", Jedediah nods, "Yeah we ended up in someplace called Pompeii..", "Oh the city destroyed by volcanic ash." says Rebecca. Jedediah then says, "So that explains the volcano.", "Yeah." says the lady while putting her hands on his cheeks caressing them, "I'm lucky to have met you.", this makes the cowboy blush a bit even if the two are together now, he's still getting used to the compliments from her, he then smiles, "Ya truly are, I'm a pretty cool guy." She puts hands on his neck, leaning in, the man leans into kiss her, as they kiss Teddy begins moving on through the museum, soon the two lovers depart and Jedediah tells his sweet lover, "Let's discuss what we want to happen in the future, my dear."
The woman begins to tell him that she wants to stay with him forever when they both hear, "And here's our Easter Island Head friend.", the two see a stone head ahead, and he says, "Me want gum-gum." Teddy says, "Hasn't our new nightguard gave you some?" While those two talk, the lovers return their gazes to each other, and Rebecca says with a smile, "As I was trying to say, I wanna spend my life with you.", "I want the same thing." says the cowboy.
Teddy then says to the two, "I'm going to return you to the wild west display now, I've gotta some more visitors to teach.", the two nod, and they head back, and soon when they reach the displays Jedediah tells Teddy, "Actually drop us off at the Roman display. I gotta talk to Octavius." Teddy nods and when he reaches the other display he lowers his arm and puts his hand on it, the two climb down and soon step foot on the display, Teddy then rides off. Octavius then walks up and says, "My friends, what are you doing back so soon? The sun doesn't rise for two more hours.", Jedediah faces him and tells him, "I needed to tell you something."
Rebecca then tells Jedediah, "I'll be back, I'm gonna check this place out.", Octavius looks her way and asks, "Want me to show you around?", he grabs her hand afterward. This makes Jed growl a bit, he knew Octavius didn't know about his love for the woman, but this still made him feel jealous, so he grabs Octavius' other arm and turns him around saying, "Listen up! This here lady's mine now!"
Octavius releases the woman's hand and says, "You should've informed me sooner, my friend. I'm very sorry, I just think she's pretty." Jedediah releases his arm, sighs, and says calmly, "I know, I know.", he then gets more serious while saying, "Just don't grab her hand again!" Octavius nods and tells his friend that he won't then asks, "Even if she's with you, can I still be her friend?"
Jedediah nods, saying with a chuckle, "Partner, that's fine." Rebecca then says, "Octavius, I would appreciate you showing me around.", Jedediah says to Octavius, "Just remember what I said."
