Sordward and Shielbert had grins that covered half their faces when they arrived at Wedgehurst. At 4:20, they met up with the demolition team on the outskirts of town in the direction of Professor Magnolia's property. 20 bulldozers were carried in trucks. Each truck was manned by a demolition officer with a man-sized ground or fighting-type Pokemon. Sordward and Shielbert specifically ordered the demolition with the demolition team instructed to use their Pokemon to drive away the Pokemon living in that Magnolia Paddock while they did their jobs. The demolition team charged extra for the additional task, but Sordward and Shielbert were willing to spend the extra money for the sake of the big picture.
At 4:30 sharp, Sordward, Shielbert, and the demolition team arrived in front of Professor Magnolia's house and unloaded the bulldozers. The principal and vice principal stepped out of their car and walked to the wide grassy path beside Professor Magnolia's house that led to the paddock. A few yards ahead, Professor Magnolia was kneeling in front of a pond of Sobble, telling them they had to leave their home. However, the Sobble didn't leave their pond, for they were reluctant to leave their home and couldn't understand the professor's explanation.
But Sordward and Shielbert didn't see an old woman trying to help innocent Pokemon. Instead, they saw the buildings they had planned as though they had already been built. A casino 70 stories high with a sword and shield logo painted on the front. A hotel with gold plating, a spa resort close to the lake, and a plaza at the center with a fountain and giant golden statues of Sordward and Shielbert. All the while, scores of people and Pokemon toured the area with glee. They took pictures of the statues of Sordward and Shielbert. Men admire them, little boys want to be like them, and the loveliest ladies in Galar desperate to bear the next generation of descendants of the ancient heroes. Sordward and Shielbert's grins stretched to the sides of their faces as they fantasized.
"At long last, Older Brother. I was beginning to think this day would never truly come," Shielbert said. "Though, I wonder where Durbin's girlfriend is. I would like to see the look on her face when she realizes he failed."
"It does not matter, Younger Brother. She will learn the truth soon enough," Sordward said. "Ready to create our legacy?"
"Born ready, brother-of-mine," Shielbert said.
The brothers nodded in sync, then turned to the demolition team and signaled them to move in. The demolition crew turned on their bulldozers and entered the Magnolia Paddock with their Pokemon walking beside them. The bulldozers began tearing down trees and uprooting grass while Pokemon like Machamp, Rhyhorn, and Hippowdon pushed the wild Pokemon back. Three Machamp pushed herds of Eevee, Wooloo, Skiddo, and Flabébé to clear a path for their partners. One officer's Conkeldurr used its pillars to knock the Metapod, Kakuna, Silcoon, and Cascoon off from their spots on the trees before the bulldozers knocked the trees down. All the while, Professor Magnolia tried to help the wild Pokemon flee, disregarding that she was an old woman who could barely walk without her cane. Sordward and Shielbert stayed at the entrance to the paddock, watching with their hands behind their backs.
Several minutes into the demolition, three dozen Corviknight flew toward the Magnolia Paddock carrying Flying Taxis. Sordward and Shielbert furrowed their brows, wondering what the Flying Taxis were doing so far south into the region. The Corviknight landed their taxis on the field, and dozens of students in each taxi came out with their Pokemon. Sordward and Shielbert's confusion turned to shock as the last Flying Taxi landed, and Timothy and Electchu got out, followed by Coovers, Sonia, Erin, Oshawott, Yamper, and Piplup. The students and their Pokemon's eyes looked daggers at the principal and vice principal, with Timothy, Coovers, and Sonia looking ready to pound their enemies. The demolition crew soon noticed all the people and Pokemon in the field, and the chief demolition officer got off his bulldozer to meet them with his Rhyperior.
"Oi! You kids, get out of here!" the chief shouted. "You're stepping in land about to be destroyed, you are!"
"That's why we're here to stop you," Coovers said.
"You are destroying land bought with stolen money," Timothy said. "The money you were paid with belongs to our school. Not to the people who hired you."
"You have to stop driving my Gran's Pokemon away from their homes," Sonia said.
Students expressed words of agreement while their Pokemon took stances for battle. Sordward and Shielbert growled with their teeth clenched, frustrated that Timothy had escaped. Then they noticed the demolition team, and their Pokemon looked at each other in confusion. The teenagers' accusations were so unusual that most of the crew were unsure they heard them correctly. Even Professor Magnolia was puzzled, for with Sonia's mind focused on getting revenge and having her heart broken she hadn't told her grandmother that Sordward and Shielbert tampered with the school budget. The principal and vice principal smirked as they found their chance to use the adults' skepticism to their advantage and stepped in to stand between the students and the demolition crew.
"Oh, Timothy Durbin and his friends. Brash as ever," Shielbert said. "Gentlemen, pay no mind to the children's tall tales. The one with the Pikachu, particularly, has a knack for causing chaos in our school."
"Indeed, he knows how to easily give good kids bad thoughts," Sordward said. "It shows teenagers are so emotional and empty-headed that they'll believe anything."
"No, it's true. Timothy showed us proof that Principal Sordward and Vice Principal Shielbert are using school money to do this," Erin said.
"Look, kid, I don't know where you get these ideas, but even you gotta admit what you're saying don't make no sense," the chief demolition officer said. "I get that you care about the Pokemon, but you got no proof. We got paid good money to demolish this land, and we gotta get our clients their money's worth."
"Yeah, come on, kids. Scram. Some of us got bills to pay," a demolition officer said.
"We wanna be done by sundown," another officer said.
The rest of the crew and their Pokemon expressed their desire to keep demolishing. Timothy, Coovers, Sonia, Erin, and the other students looked at the crew in disbelief as though the grown men said they were willing to severely harm the Pokemon or worse for their paycheck. Professor Magnolia furrowed her brow and tightened her hold on her cane, resisting the temptation to attack the crew with it. Sordward and Shielbert chuckled as the crew demanded that the students get out of the way until they realized they were not moving an inch.
"If you keep going, we'll fight you until you leave with your tails between your legs," Erin said.
"That's right. You ain't gonna keep us from saving these Pokemon," Dendra said.
"If you lay a single hand on them, you'll regret it," Tulip said.
The other students shook their fists as they exclaimed words of agreement. Groups of students broke from the crowd to stand in front of the bulldozers with their Pokemon ready for battle. Before Sordward and Shielbert knew it, the student body was broken into 20 groups, each surrounding a demolition officer, their Pokemon, and their bulldozer. The crew and the students argued about Sordward, Shielbert, the demolition order, the money, the Pokemon, and job security. Sordward and Shielbert grew irate as they watched Timothy, Coovers, Sonia, and Erin arguing with the demolition officer closest to where Professor Magnolia was protecting the wild Pokemon with Sonia standing between the officer and her grandmother defensively. Finally, Shielbert growled and stormed to the chief demolition officer while he was arguing with several students.
"Officer, my brother and I will pay you triple to drive these pesky children away from here. Beat their Pokemon to a pulp if you have to," Shielbert said.
The chief demolition officer pursed his lips, reluctant to take things so far before his greed got the better of him. Then he nodded and pushed his way through the students and Pokemon surrounding him until he was at a spot where he stood at the center of the commotion. He whistled with his fingers in his mouth and the arguing stopped with all eyes on him.
"Boys, we got the approval to drive these kids away for triple pay! I want them out of my sight and you boys back in your bulldozers within the next 5 minutes!" the chief demolition officer shouted.
The students and their Pokemon looked at the chief demolition officer in shock while the crew and their Pokemon grinned, all too happy to earn more money. The crew ordered their Pokemon to attack, giving students no time to react. The demolition crew's mighty Pokemon knocked out several students' Pokemon with one move before the students retaliated.
The students and their Pokemon outnumbered their opponents, but the demolition team's Pokemon were trained with the power to destroy boulders, make trenches, and reduce abandoned buildings to rubble. Many attacks did minor damage before a crewman's Pokemon sent several smaller Pokemon flying with one move. It wasn't long before dozens of students' Pokemon were knocked out, and the students either hid inside the Flying Taxis or ran toward town to the nearest Pokemon Center, carrying their Pokemon. Pokemon more experienced in Pokemon Battles, like Oshawott, Piplup, Kirlia, and Medicham, held their own the most, yet it wasn't enough as more of their fellow Pokemon were knocked out.
Shielbert cackled as he watched the students with fainted Pokemon return their partners to their Pokeballs and run back to the Flying Taxis. When the taxis were full, the students asked the Corviknight to take them to Wedgehurst's Pokemon Center. Sordward walked over to his brother, smirking in approval as he watched the fighting.
"We aren't going to actually pay them triple. Are we, Younger Brother?" Sordward asked.
"Of course not, Older Brother. We need the money for construction, and we have paperwork to show that we are only obligated to pay what was agreed," Shielbert said. "If they don't like it, they can think of it as a good inspiration to finish the job sooner. Perhaps the simpletons will also learn how important it is to get everything in writing."
"Yes, I'm sure it'll be a lesson they will never forget," Sordward said. "Meantime, there's still more work to be done, and I don't want to wait until the crew's extra assignment is done for progress to continue."
Shielbert turned to his brother and realized he was eyeing two bulldozers standing beside each other. The drivers and their Pokemon had finished driving away the crowd surrounding them and left their vehicles to aid their coworkers. The brothers cackled like boys wanting to drive machinery they were too young to use. Looking around to ensure no one else was watching, they walked to the bulldozers and got on. Sordward got on the bulldozer on the right, and Shielbert got on the bulldozer on the left. With the vehicles still on, they drove further north, looking for more trees to knock down and Pokemon to drive away.
Meanwhile, Timothy, Coovers, Sonia, and Erin were battling a Rhyhorn with a dozen of their fellow students. Coovers and Erin held their own, with Oshawott and Piplup having the type advantage. Electchu and Yamper focused on dodging because Rhydon's partner was keen on taking out the small Pokemon weak against ground-type moves. The other students' Pokemon landed hits, but they did little to affect right on because they were fire, rock, and flying type Pokemon. Rhydon barely acknowledged the rocks, streams of fire, and pecks on the head against its sturdy body.
"Rhydon, Drill Run on that Pikachu again!" Rhydon's partner shouted.
"Electchu, dodge using Agility," Timothy shouted.
Rhydon put its arms up to its head and formed its body into a drill. It then rotated its body rapidly and charged at Electchu and Yamper while floating in the air. With its body surrounded by a white outline, Electchu moved away with inhuman speed. Students, Professor Magnolia, and Pokemon moved away as Rhydon moved past them before landing on its feet.
"Oshawott, Water Gun!" Coovers shouted.
"Piplup, use Water Gun too!" Erin said.
Oshawott and Piplup shot streams of water from their mouths and hit Rhydon from behind. Rhydon growled in agony and got down on all fours. Coovers' fellow students took the opportunity to attack again despite their Pokemon's moves still having little effect. He knew that the drill Pokemon was getting weaker with every water attack, but with Rhydon's defense, it could take a few more hits before it went down. With the number of conscious Pokemon on the student side shrinking, the battle needed to be wrapped up before any demolition Pokemon came to aid Rhydon.
"Timbo, Sonia, weaken its defense! Have Electchu and Yamper use Tail Whip for as long as possible!" Coovers shouted.
"Got it! Electchu, Tail Whip!" Timothy shouted.
"Yamper, use Tail Whip too!" Sonia shouted.
Electchu and Yamper ran toward Rhydon and began swatting it with their tails. Electchu hit Rhydon on its right side, and Yamper hit it on its left. The drill Pokemon barely noticed, with his mind focused on the pain from Water Gun, and yet it slowly got weaker as the other Pokemon's attacks became more effective. Rhydon's partner realized he was losing the fight and clenched his teeth.
"Rhydon, get up and use Stomp!" the demolition officer shouted.
"Everyone, move away!" Coovers shouted.
Electchu and Yamper stopped using Tail Whip and looked behind them to see Rhydon standing up. They ran back to Timothy and Sonia just as Rhydon was about to stomp on Yamper. Rhydon began stomping other students' Pokemon, knocking a couple of them out and driving the rest back. Unfortunately, Coovers and Erin smirked as they knew Electchu and Yamper did their job.
"Oshawott, Water Gun one more time!" Coovers shouted.
"Piplup, use Water Gun too!" Erin shouted.
Oshawott and Piplup fired two more streams of water, hitting Rhydon's back again. Rhydon roared louder than before as if the water was penetrating its thick skin. It got down on one knee and breathed heavily, trying to regain its bearings before falling on its front, limp. Students and their Pokemon cheered while Rhydon's partner stood stupefied that it had lost to a group of smaller Pokemon. Timothy, Coovers, Sonia, and Erin sighed in relief while Professor Magnolia's Pokemon cheered for their rescuers. Erin turned to Coovers to kiss him before she looked over her shoulder and saw Sordward and Shielbert.
"Look," Erin said, pointing past Coovers.
Timothy, Coovers, Sonia, Professor Magnolia, Electchu, Oshawott, and Yamper turned to where Erin was pointing to see Sordward and Shielbert driving away in bulldozers. Several dozen wild Pokemon fled from the bulldozers coming in their direction. Sonia and Professor Magnolia's eyes widened for fear of their Pokemon, and Coovers huffed in irritation while Timothy clenched his teeth.
"Sneaking away to destroy the Pokemon's homes themselves while everyone is distracted? And Vice Principal Shielbert called me brash," Timothy said.
"We got to stop them. They might seriously injure Pokemon in their path," Coovers said.
"But, what about Gran? We can't leave her and these Pokemon alone," Sonia said.
"We will be fine, Sonia. Just stop those men before they cause any more harm," Professor Magnolia said.
"I'll watch over your grandmother, Sonia," Erin said.
Sonia smiled and nodded in appreciation. Erin turned to Coovers and grabbed his shirt with both hands to pull him into a kiss. Coovers wrapped his arms around Erin to squeeze her as he kissed her back. The new couple stopped before they gave in to the temptation to use their tongues and gave each other lovestruck looks.
"Give them hell, Snuggle Bundle," Erin said.
"You too, Beauty Cake," Coovers said.
Erin giggled and pecked Coovers' lips before Coovers left to race after Sordward and Shielbert with Timothy, Sonia, Electchu, Oshawott, and Yamper. As they ran, Alexa, Malva, Helioptile, and Fletchling battled a demolition officer's Grapploct with several other students. Grapploct held 4 Pokemon hostage using Octolock, with 1 Pokemon each wrapped and its tentacles. Alexa and Malva tried to think of how to rescue the Pokemon when Alexa noticed Timothy, Coovers, Sonia, and their Pokemon racing to catch up with Sordward and Shielbert.
"Hey, look. Timothy Durbin and his friends are going after Principal Sordward and Vice Principal Shielbert," Alexa said.
Malva turned to see Timothy, Coovers, and Sonia and furrowed her brow as she said, "We got to get over there and watch. Those three facing the principal and vice principal would be an excellent addition to our article. It's an opportunity too good to pass up."
"Malva, I was thinking the same thing," Alexis said with a grin. "Helioptile, use Flash! Give it everything you got!"
Helioptile stepped up and unleashed a flash of light, blinding Grapploct. Alexa and Malva's fellow students use the opportunity to free Grapploct's hostages, with one girl's Larvitar tackling Grapploct head first in the gut, forcing it to let go. Grapploct held its tentacles up defensively as its multiple opponents simultaneously attacked it while Alexa, Malva, Helioptile, and Fletchling left the battle. They ran to catch up with Timothy, Coovers, Sonia, Electchu, Oshawott, and Yamper just as they had begun to catch up with Sordward and Shielbert. Sordward and Shielbert drove toward a large tree, where a pair of Pidove were protecting their eggs in their nest, grinning as they prepared to scare them away.
"Electchu, Thunder Shock on Principal Sordward!" Timothy shouted.
"Yamper, use Nuzzle on Vice Principal Shielbert!" Sonia shouted.
"Oshawott, cut the tires with Razor Shell!" Coovers shouted.
Electchu, Oshawott, and Yamper ran ahead of their friends with their eyes fixed on Sordward and Shielbert. Electchu jumped into the air and used Thunder Shock on Sordward. Sordward's scream in agony made Shielbert turn his head to see what was happening, giving Yamper a chance to hop onto the bulldozer and nuzzle Shielbert's leg, shocking him. While Electchu and Yamper electrocuted their enemies, Oshawott sliced Sordward's left tires and Shielbert's right tires. The sudden destruction of the large tires made the bulldozers tilt at a steep angle. Yamper jumped away just as the sudden tilts sent Sordward and Shielbert falling off their vehicles.
Timothy, Coovers, and Sonia stopped walking fifteen yards away from Sordward and Shielbert. The principal and vice principal groaned as they struggled to stand up, having landed on their sides. They leaned on the sides of their bulldozers as Shielbert glowered at Timothy, Coovers, and Sonia and took out a Pokeball from his coat pocket.
"Bronzong, Hypnosis on all of them!" Shielbert commanded as he threw the Pokeball into the air.
"Oshawott, use Water Gun on Bronzong's right eye!" Coovers shouted.
Bronzong popped out of its container and its eyes glowed multicolored, but before it could release multicolored circles from its body, Oshawott shot a beam of water straight at its right eye. Shielbert's partner howled from the blunt force of the water hitting its red eye. Sordward and Shielbert watched in shock as the bronze bell Pokemon whimpered in agony while covering its eye with its arm.
"How dare you, you ruffian!" Shielbert screamed. "I never thought a student would have their Pokemon deliver such a dirty blow."
"That's rich coming from the guy who used his Pokemon to hypnotize a student and his Pokemon before locking them in a dark storage room," Coovers said. "When Timbo filled us in along the way here, I wouldn't have believed that our principal and vice principal would go so low had I not already known what audacious, stuck-up gits you are."
"Yeah, do you two know how to Pokemon battle properly, or do you have balls smaller than your pinky nails when it comes to a fair fight?" Sonia asked with her hands on her hips.
Sordward and Shielbert scoffed in high-pitched voices, appalled by how Sonia challenged them. Then, sternly, Sordward took out a Pokeball from his coat pocket and summoned a Bisharp. Bisharp took an offensive stance with its left foot in front of the other, prepared to attack Electchu, Oshawott, and Yamper at once if Sordward gave the word. Bronzong glowered at Oshawott and removed its arm to prepare to attack with its right eye shut.
"Mock how Younger Brother and I do things as much as you like, you rapscallions. Even without using Hypnosis on you, our Pokemon are more than strong enough to beat your Pokemon in seconds," Sordward said.
"You won't stop us from building monuments of our glory," Shielbert said.
"Actually, it just so happens that I already have," Timothy said smugly.
Sordward, Shielbert, Bisharp, and Bronzong furrowed their brows, with the former two raising their eyebrows.
"And how, pray tell, did you accomplish that?" Sordward asked.
"I helped Ms. Oleana get into your computer and collect the files proving you've been tampering with the school budget for years. While I made my broadcast, she left to go to Superintendent Rose. By now, she has already given the evidence to him," Timothy said.
"Even if you beat us, he will take legal action against you before you can lay the foundations of a single building," Coovers said.
"You may as well give up and return my Gran's land. You'll be hurting innocent Pokemon for nothing at this point," Sonia said.
"Pikachu," Electchu said.
"Oshawott," Oshawott said.
"Arf, arf," Yamper barked.
Sordward and Shielbert kept their eyebrows raised while the teenagers boasted. Bisharp and Bronzong looked at each other and then at their partners, unsure if they should believe what Timothy, Coovers, and Sonia said. Meanwhile, Alexa, Malva, Helioptile, and Fletchling hid behind bushes a few yards away from everyone else, with Alexa recording on her camera. After several seconds, Sordward and Shielbert chuckled condescendingly with their mouths, making Timothy, Coovers, Sonia, Electchu, Oshawott, and Yamper uneasy.
"I suppose we should've tightened our leash on Ms. Oleana when we had the chance, Older Brother," Shielbert said.
"Indeed, Younger Brother," Sordward said. "But even if what you're saying is true, Timothy, it accomplishes nothing. The land is still legally ours regardless of how we got the means to purchase it."
"Even if Superintendent Rose believes you and Ms. Oleana, our lawyers can make the evidence against us appear flimsy to the court. They can make a compelling story that Ms. Oleana made the files herself and made it look like they came from our computer," Shielbert said.
"Heaven knows we overwork her and don't compensate her for her extra time in the office. She has the software to make those kinds of documents, too. It would be more plausible that she made fake evidence to get revenge on her employers," Sordward said.
"And the fact that she got into our office with the help of a student that has caused trouble in our school only strengthens the probability that she faked the evidence," Shielbert said.
"Dear Ms. Oleana will go to jail and possibly be fined for committing perjury. Oh, and she would be fired too, of course," Sordward said.
"In the end, we lose nothing but an irritating amount of time and money on legal fees to deal with your final effort," Shielbert said.
"But building a case will involve asking possible witnesses questions, and Timbo's told everyone what you plan to build. Won't it seem suspicious that you'd be building the things he said you said you plan to build after claiming he is speaking falsely?" Coovers asked.
"Oh, please. There's nothing the legal system can do based on coincidence, nor is what we want to build illegal," Sordward said. "As far as anyone is concerned, we're using our own money to build whatever we want in our land. We'll even use next year's school budget to do everything for the school Superintendent Rose demanded us to do this year, so there's no further indication of us taking from the budget."
"Not that we would need to take from the school budget anymore once our operations here are up and running. If anything, tampering with the school's budget for our personal use for the last few years won't be a big deal in the long run," Shielbert said. "Motostoke High School will be acknowledged as a glorious place of learning because it is part of our success. A stepping stone for Galar's royal family to regain their recognition that has been fading for generations."
"And believe us. Younger Brother and I will take as much school money as we want for that to happen," Sordward said.
"Every. Single. Penny," Shielbert said.
Timothy, Coovers and Sonia's eyes widened. Though they didn't say anything, they couldn't deny what their enemies said made sense. Bisharp and Bronzong cackled upon realizing their partners wounded their opponents' morale. Behind the bushes, however, Alexa and Malva covered their mouths as they and their Pokemon struggled not to laugh.
"Sweet mother of mercy, tell me you got that," Malva whispered.
"I got it. Right from their mouths," Alexa whispered.
The school's reporter and photographer giggled as they imagined the publicity they would receive from recording valuable evidence. Meanwhile, Timothy, Coovers, and Sonia remained discouraged until Electchu, Oshawott, and Yamper stepped forward, showing they were still determined to fight. The teenagers' faces grew severe, and they nodded to each other before looking back at their opponents.
"Even if what you're saying is true, we're still not going to let you drive the Pokemon away from their homes," Sonia said.
"And how do you plan to stop us?" Shielbert asked.
"The way we agreed to face things since before school started: together," Timothy said.
"Pikachu," Electchu said.
"Oshawott," Oshawott said.
"Arf, arf," Yamper barked.
Coovers smirked and nodded with his arms crossed. Sordward and Shielbert lightly chuckled as though their opponents were little kids trying to act tough by quoting a scene from a movie. They sighed and shrugged, begrudgingly accepting their students weren't going to back down then put their hands behind their backs and stood up straight, expecting the battle to go quickly with their stronger Pokemon. Both sides waited for the other to move like cowboys in a western until Sordward and Shielbert grew impatient and made the first moves.
"Bronzong, Light Screen!" Shielbert said.
"Bisharp, use Stone Edge on Oshawott!" Sordward shouted.
"Oshawott, dodge and use Razor Shell!" Coovers shouted.
"Electchu, Thunder Shock!" Timothy shouted.
"Yamper, Nuzzle!" Sonia shouted.
Bronzong formed a series of transparent square barriers in front of itself and Bisharp while Bisharp slammed its fist onto the ground. Light blue rock pillars came out of the ground toward Oshawott, but Oshawott moved away and cut Bisharp's side. Electchu and Yamper hit Bronzong with their respective attacks while it focused on using Light Screen. Sordward and Shielbert's Pokemon cried in pain, but the principal and vice principal paid no mind. Even with Bisharp's attack missing, they ensured Water Gun wouldn't be as effective as before.
"Bisharp, Night Slash!" Sordward shouted.
"Bronzong, Extrasensory on Durbin's Pikachu!" Shielbert shouted.
"Oshawott, protect yourself with Razor Shell!" Coovers shouted.
"Electchu, dodge using Agility followed by Quick Attack!" Timothy shouted.
"Yamper, use Nuzzle again!" Sonia shouted.
Bisharp's arm glowed white and swung at Oshawott, who blocked the attack with the light blue blade coming from its scalchop. Simultaneously, Bronzong's eyes glowed gold, and it released a multicolored circular beam of energy with white rings of energy from its mouth. Electchu avoided the attack with inhuman speed and then raced to ram into its opponent. Electchu's Quick Attack did half damage, but the impact distracted Bronzong, allowing Yamper to hit it with Nuzzle.
Sordward and Shielbert clenched their teeth, irritated that their partners hadn't landed any hits. Shielbert wanted to change attacks for variety, but Bronzong's only other attack was Gyro Ball, which the students' Pokemon were resistant to. Having already used Light Screen and Bronzong unable to use Hypnosis with one eye, he could only order Bronzong to use Extrasensory. Bisharp, on the other hand, had two attacks that could do full damage against Electchu, Oshawott, and Yamper, and Sordward was determined to use them to his advantage.
"Bisharp, keep using Night Slash!" Sordward shouted.
"Coovers, defend yourself! Wait until it's tired!" Coovers shouted.
"Bronzong, do not stop using Extrasensory until you've hit your targets!" Shielbert commanded.
"Electchu, dodge its attacks!" Timothy shouted.
"You too, Yamper!" Sonia shouted.
With Bisharp's arm still glowing white, it and Oshawott began to duel using Bisharp's arm and Oshawott's scalchop like swords. Bronzong used Extrasensory repeatedly, but its opponents were smaller and faster. As Bronzong continued to fire Extrasensory, Timothy noticed its aim was sloppy with one eye open.
"Sonia, Bronzong can't see what's happening on its right side. Let's have Electchu and Yamper switch between attacking and using Tail Whip in opposite directions," Timothy said.
"Got it," Sonia said. "Yamper, use Nuzzle on Bronzong on its right side!"
"Electchu, use Tail Whip on Bronzong's left side!" Timothy shouted.
Yamper jumped into the air and nuzzled Bronzong's right side, shocking it. The shock took Bronzong by surprise, with the impact coming from where it couldn't see, giving Electchu the chance to jump and repeatedly swat the left side of Bronzong's face.
"Now, use Thunder Shock!" Timothy shouted.
"Yamper, use Tail Whip!" Sonia shouted.
Electchu jumped so it was within eye level of Bronzong, and hit it with Thunder Shock. Bronzong groaned as the attack did more damage than before. The bronze bell Pokemon turned to use Extrasensory on Electchu, leaving Yamper to use Tail Whip while its opponent was distracted. Upon Timothy and Sonia's commands, Yamper used Nuzzle again, and Electchu used Tail Whip while Bronzong was distracted. Shielbert's partner began to panic as it grew weaker with each attack, unable to see both opponents with one eye.
Meanwhile, Bisharp began to tire as it clashed arm and blade with Oshawott. The sword blade Pokemon was five times Oshawott's size, but Oshawott was well-trained at holding its ground. Oshawott waited until Bisharp swung its arm over its head and cut its opponent's leg. Bisharp went down on one knee and, without waiting for Coovers to make a call, Oshawott proceeded to cut Bisharp's side, then jumped to slice the side of Bisharp's face. Bisharp howled and limped backward from its opponent while Oshawott smirked, knowing it had the upper hand.
Sordward and Shielbert's frustration grew as it hit them that their younger opponents were outwitting them in battle. Then he noticed Timothy and Sonia smiling with hope as Electchu and Yamper stayed on the offense. Sordward turned to Coovers, who grinned, pleased with how much damage his partner caused against Bisharp without taking any damage. The edges of Sordward's mouth curled as he realized the teenagers were so focused on their respective battles that they had forgotten they had more than one opponent.
"Oshawott, Razor Shell!" Coovers shouted.
"Dodge and use Stone Edge on Yamper!" Sordward shouted.
Realizing what its partner was thinking, Bisharp stood back up and jumped to the side before Oshawott could slice its other leg. The sword blade Pokemon slammed its fist again, facing Yamper, and light blue rock pillars came out of the ground toward an unsuspecting Yamper from behind. Sonia opened her mouth to tell Yamper to use Nuzzle when she saw the pillars coming toward it.
"Yamper, look out!" Sonia shouted.
Yamper had a second to wonder what Sonia had said before a pillar shot up from the ground underneath it. Sonia's dear puppy Pokemon howled as it flew into the air and landed several feet away from Bronzong and Electchu with a thud. Electchu turned to its friend in surprise, not realizing it gave Bronzong the perfect opportunity to finally land a hit with Extrasensory. Coovers stood stupefied that his opponent tricked him, and Sordward's smirk turned into a sinister grin.
"Now, use Sword Dance followed by Night Slash on Oshawott again!" Sordward shouted.
"Oshawott, dodge and use Razor Shell again!" Coovers shouted.
Bisharp cackled as twelve blue, glowing swords circled around it. Red and orange lights shot upwards in front of Bisharp, followed by balls of the same colored aura appearing in front of it before disappearing. With its arm glowing white again, it slammed its fist down, aiming for Oshawott's head, only for Oshawott to move again. Oshawott swung its scalchop at Bisharp's leg, but Bisharp swung its arm upward with so much force that the scalchop came flying out of Oshawott's hand. Bisharp struck Oshawott's face without skipping a beat and swung its arm down again to force the sea otter Pokemon into the ground.
"Bronzong, Extrasensory!" Shielbert commanded.
"Bisharp, finish it with Stone Edge!" Sordward shouted.
"Oshawott, dodge it quick!" Coovers shouted.
But despite making the call, Coovers knew Oshawott was in too much pain to react in time. Bronzong unleashed another multicolored circular beam, hitting Oshawott while it lay on the ground. Bisharp waited until Oshawott landed a few yards away to slam its fist into the ground, causing blue stone pillars to emerge again. A pillar shot out from underneath Oshawott and sent it flying again before landing on the ground with swirly eyes.
"Oshawott!" Coovers shouted.
Coovers rushed over to Oshawott's side and scooped it up. Sordward and Shielbert chuckled, knowing they had the upper hand with their strongest opponent beaten. Timothy and Sonia struggled not to show fear despite the cuts and bruises on Electchu and Yamper's bodies. Alexa, Malva, Helioptile, and Fletching grew ill at ease as they stayed behind the bushes with Alexa still recording.
"Come on, you two. Don't let up," Alexa whispered.
"Bisharp and Bronzong have taken plenty of damage. Just hold on a little longer," Malva whispered.
"Helioptile," Helioptile said.
"Fletchling," Fletchling chirped.
Electchu and Yamper stood up and took on fighting positions, trying to ignore their injuries. Bisharp scoffed, and Bronzong cackled as it was obvious the smaller Pokemon could only take so much more damage. As he returned Oshawott to its Pokeball, Coovers watched the Pokemon from both sides stare at each other with a look of guilt. The field was silent, apart from students and the demolition crew fighting in a distance before Sordward made the first move.
"Bisharp, use Stone Edge!" Sordward shouted.
"Bronzong, Extrasensory!" Shielbert shouted.
"Electchu, use Agility followed by Thunder Shock!" Timothy shouted.
"Yamper, dodge, and use Nuzzle!" Sonia shouted.
With a white outline surrounding its body again, Electchu avoided the stone pillars emerging from the ground and used Thunder Shock on Bisharp and Bronzong. Yamper took advantage of Electchu's attack to hit Bronzong with Nuzzle again once Electchu stopped using Thunder Shock. Bisharp had several cuts and bruises all over its body, and Bronzong groaned as it struggled to stay conscious.
"Now, use Thunder Shock one more time!" Timothy shouted.
"Nuzzle once more!" Sonia shouted.
"Bisharp, dodge and use Stone Edge!" Sordward shouted.
"Bronzong, dodge and use Extrasensory while Yamper is charging at you!" Shielbert shouted.
Electchu jumped into the air and unleashed several beams of electricity, but Bisharp and Bronzong moved away before any of the beams hit them. Bisharp slammed its fist into the ground, and Electchu's eyes widened as it landed in the direction the stone pillars were coming from. Before Electchu could touch the ground, a stone pillar hit it, sending it flying higher into the air. With Bisharp's attack more powerful with Sword Dance, Electchu squealed in agony until it lost consciousness while still in the air. Timothy's heart sank as his Pokemon hit the ground limp.
Simultaneously, Bronzong fired another beam of energy that hit Yamper in the face as it ran to finish off its opponent. Yamper howled again as the impact sent it rolling back until it stopped, lying on its side a few feet away from Sonia. Sordward and Shielbert's grins stretched to the sides of their faces, with victory only one call away.
"Bisharp, Night Slash!" Sordward shouted.
"Bronzong, Extrasensory!" Shielbert shouted.
Sonia's eyes widened as Sordward and Shielbert's Pokemon prepared to attack. Her Pokemon lay on the ground, barely conscious, with its eyes half open. Without thinking, she rushed to scoop up Yamper before it could be mercilessly beaten by two powerful attacks. Timothy had just returned Electchu to its Pokeball when he saw Sonia pick Yamper up and turned to see Bisharp and a beam of energy heading straight toward her.
"No!" Timothy shouted.
Dropping Electchu's Pokeball, Timothy raced toward Sonia and Yamper and pushed Sonia away. Not caring who was in its path, Bisharp struck Timothy's side, and Timothy got down on his knees with his hands on the cut. A split second later, Bronzong's beam hit Timothy in the face with such force that it knocked him off the ground for a second before Timothy landed on his back.
"TIMBO!" Coovers yelled.
"TIMOTHY!" Sonia screamed.
Coovers and Sonia rushed to Timothy, and Sonia got down on her knees, laying Yamper beside her before she gently lifted Timothy's upper body. Timothy groaned in agony as Sonia held him close. Alexa, Malva, Helioptile, and Fletchling watched Sonia cradle Timothy with their eyes widened in disbelief. Alexa checked her camera to ensure she was still recording. Coovers got down on one knee and checked Timothy's face and side before he glowered at Sordward and Shielbert.
"You hit him with your Pokemon!" Coovers shouted.
"He stepped right into Bisharp and Bronzong's attacks. It's his own fault," Sordward said.
"Those attacks were for Ms. Magnolia's Yamper. How were we supposed to know she would try to stop us from finishing off her mutt or that he would jump in to take the hit?" Shielbert said. "You kids should know better than to step into a Pokemon battle and risk getting hit in the crossfire."
"Bisharp," Bisharp said.
"Bronzong." Bronzong said.
"Your Pokemon were attacking Yamper when it was seriously injured!" Sonia shouted. "Either way, you still injured one of your students with your Pokemon without remorse!"
"One of our students? I hardly think it appropriate to call any of you students after this," Sordward said with a haughty laugh. "No, you three are most definitely expelled. We don't want to see either of you anywhere near our school ever again."
Coovers and Sonia continued to glare, with Sonia holding Timothy defensively. Then, with a groan, Timothy lifted his head from Sonia's shoulder and sat up, still holding his cut with his arm. Sordward and Shielbert scoffed, half expecting Timothy to try to stand up despite his condition. Timothy took deep breaths, trying to fight off the pain as he looked at the principal and vice principal.
"Expelled or not, we will never give up on stopping you," Timothy said.
Sordward, Shielbert, Bisharp, and Bronzong laughed, with Sordward and Shielbert holding their hands up to their mouths.
"Oh, stop kidding yourself already, Timothy. Your Pokemon are beaten, you're hurt, and you have no solid legal means to take the land from us," Shielbert said. "Not to mention, your little revolt will soon be crushed utterly."
Timothy, Coovers, and Sonia looked to see the fighting close to the paddock entrance had died down. A dozen demolition crewmen and Pokemon surrounded twenty students and their Pokemon, including Erin, Tulip, and Dendra. The rest of the student body had fled in the Flying Taxis they rode from. The demolition officers whose Pokemon were knocked out got back on their bulldozers. At the same time, Professor Magnolia stood between the demolition crew and the small wild Pokemon hiding behind her. Timothy, Coovers, and Sonia's faces fell as they watched their peers battle to the end while Sordward chuckled with his mouth closed.
"It's all over, Timothy. You cannot stop what is to come," Sordward said.
Timothy clenched his teeth and tried to stand up, but the sharp pain on his side forced him to sit back down. Sonia held onto Timothy again to ensure he wouldn't try to stand up again in his condition. Coovers turned his hands into balls of fists, wanting to attack Sordward and Shielbert despite them still having Pokemon to defend themselves. Alexa and Malva considered coming out of their hiding spot and revealing they had proof, but they silently decided against it for fear of Sordward and Shielbert attacking them and their Pokemon to destroy Alexa's camera. Motostoke High's news photographer and journalist lost hope as they realized they could not deliver their evidence before the paddock was destroyed.
Pleased with their opponents staying down, Sordward and Shielbert turned around and walked back toward their bulldozers with their hands behind their backs. Bisharp and Bronzong chuckled condescendingly as they followed their partners. Sonia and Coovers began checking Timothy's injuries when they heard a high-pitched shriek.
Timothy, Coovers, and Sonia turned to see Sordward looking at Shielbert's hair which was poofy with several strands sticking out. It lost its shield-like shape and there was grass and dirt from Shielbert falling off his bulldozer. Shielbert turned to Sordward and screamed, for Sordward's hair was also poofy and covered in grass and dirt, and the blade part of it was crooked with a fraction of it sticking out. Sordward and Shielbert looked at each other's hair as though they had withered like flowers dying of disease and pests.
"Sweet Arceus, how long has our hair been like this?!" Shielbert screamed.
"Their Pikachu and Yamper must've ruined them when they shocked us!" Sordward shouted. "Quick, get your hairspray!"
Sordward and Shielbert each took out a large can of hairspray from inside their coats and began spraying each other's hair. Shielbert tried to straighten the top half of Sordward's hair while Sordward worked on the edges of Shielbert's head that formed the shape of a shield. They used their fingers to get the grass and dirt out of their hair as they sprayed, scared they wouldn't save their hairdos in time.
Unbeknownst to them, Bisharp, Bronzong, Helioptile, and Fletchling turned to the principal and vice principal as though they were the most exciting things in the world. Timothy, Coovers, and Sonia's eyes widened as they realized Sordward and Shielbert brought hairspray from their office. They turned to Yamper, who stared at Sordward and Shielbert in intrigue despite being half-conscious. The Pidove stared at Sordward and Shielbert from their nest, and the Pokemon back by the paddock entrance from both sides of the fight stopped battling and turned to look at the men spraying their hair from top to bottom.
"You know what, Principal Sordward? You're absolutely right," Timothy said. "I have zero control of what's going to happen."
Sordward and Shielbert stopped spraying and turned to Timothy, only to see Bisharp and Bronzong running toward them. Bisharp pulled Sordward to a side hug while Bronzong nuzzled Shielbert. Helioptile and Fletchling came out of the bushes, and Helioptile hugged Sordward's head while Fletchling sat on Shielbert's head. Alexa stopped recording, and she and Malva came out of their hiding spot and tried to pull their partners back.
"Helioptile, let go," Alexa said.
"Fletchling, get down from there," Malva said.
"If your Fletchling does any more damage to my hair, you'll wish you've never been born, young lady," Shielbert threatened.
"Buddy, that ridiculous hair is gonna be messed up no matter what," Coovers said.
"Yeah, I'd get rid of the hairspray if I were you," Sonia said.
Sordward, Shielbert, Alexa, and Malva turned to see Timothy smirking, Coovers grinning like a child who had pulled a prank, and Sonia covering her mouth, trying not to laugh. They looked ahead to see the demolition crew's Pokemon, the wild Pokemon hiding behind Professor Magnolia, and the students' Pokemon still conscious, including Piplup, Kirlia, and Medicham, running toward them. The students were quick to return their Pokemon to their Pokeballs, recognizing their Pokemon behaving like they did in school. The demolition crew, however, ran after their Pokemon, telling them to come back. Sordward and Shielbert grew uncomfortable as it looked like countless Pokemon were going to pile up on them again.
"What's happening, Older Brother?" Shielbert asked.
"I don't know, Younger Brother, but it looks like a repeat of the cafeteria," Sordward said.
"That's because it is," Timothy said matter-of-factly. "Tell me, gentlemen, what do you know about Pokemon Pheromones?"
Alexa and Malva looked at Timothy, confused, until they remembered their first day in Pokemon biology with Mr. Jacq. They turned to Sordward and Shielbert's hairspray, then back at Timothy, Coovers, and Sonia, before their faces fell. They returned Helioptile and Fletchling to their Pokeballs before they ran to hide behind the bushes again.
It took a few seconds later before the blood drained from Sordward and Shielbert's faces as it hit them. The principal and vice principal began to whimper and quiver as they stared at their hairspray, realizing they sprayed pheromones all over their large heads of hair. Sordward and Shielbert turned to Timothy, whose smirk turned into a devious grin.
"Run," Timothy said.
Shrieking again, Sordward and Shielbert pushed Bisharp and Bronzong away and began running away from the Pokemon. Bisharp and Bronzong began to chase after their partners, and Sonia pulled Yamper close to her to keep it from trying to run after them while the demolition crew, their Pokemon, and the wild Pokemon passed by them. Sordward and Shielbert ran further into the field, not realizing they were attracting more Pokemon living in the paddock. The more Pokemon appeared to chase the hair covered in Pokemon Pheromones, the more frightened Sordward and Shielbert became to the point that they didn't care where they were going.
Eventually, Sordward Shielbert found a thick forest on the north side of the paddock and went in, thinking they could find a place to hide. Even if they lost their pursuers with the trees, Principal Sordward and Vice Principal Shielbert had no idea how many Pokemon dwelled beyond the borders of Professor Magnolia's property.
