Renegade Heroes of Lylat
After his exile to Venom and his creation of his army to invade and conquer the Lylat System, Andross creates an elite infiltration and sabotage unit called Ghost Company. This Special Forces unit's purpose was to infiltrate key institutions, corporations, military and governmental ranks, and devastate the Cornerian infrastructure. They did so with remarkable ease and efficiency, crippling Corneria's power and ability to resist the Venomian forces as they conquered planet after planet. Despite Starfox's best efforts, they were unable to deliver a decisive blow to defeat the Venom military in time. Thanks to Ghost Company's efforts, Corneria was forced to surrender to Andross.
Once he'd accepted the surrender and began subjugating Corneria and the Lylat System, Andross placed massive bounties on Starfox. Starfox found themselves as wanted criminals all throughout the Lylat System. Unable to find work, fuel, or food, constantly hunted by their hated rivals Starwolf who wanted to collect their bounties, and forced underground, Starfox struggled to get by. Eventually, after finally losing Starwolf amid the asteroids of Meteo, they found refuge on the backwater planet of Sauria. After meeting with the Earthwalker king, they came an agreement. In exchange for their aid in putting down the power-hungry General Scales, Starfox would receive safe haven on Sauria for as long as they needed.
However, they were not the only ones seeking refuge on Sauria. Learning of a surviving Cerinian after he'd unintentionally destroyed the planet, Andross became obsessed with capturing this last Cerinian, and studying and replicating the rumored ESP that all Cerinians were said to possess. Thus, a massive manhunt was formed to seek out and capture this lone survivor. Krystal journeys to her peoples' ancestral homeworld of Sauria in hopes of evading the manhunt for a brief time. But unknown to her, Starwolf had caught her trail and were in hot pursuit.
Starfox fights off Starwolf, driving them away from Sauria and saving Krystal in the process. After having some much needed time to rest, refuel, and reassess their situation, Starfox decides that they're done hiding for the time being. It was now time to take the fight to Andross and the Venomians. Thus, with their hideout exposed, they load up the Great Fox and depart before Starwolf can inform Venom of their whereabouts. Krystal decides to accompany them since she desires to repay her debt to them for saving her life.
Returning to Corneria in disguise, they hook up with a series of rebel cells who continue to resist the Venom forces who've occupied the planet. Coordinating with these rebels, Starfox quickly and efficiently hunts down and executes the various leaders and members of Ghost Company, who had been given control of the planet by Andross in recognition of their efforts. Finally getting a taste of victory, the remnants of the Cornerian military comes out of hiding and begins pressing their attack. With substantial help from Starfox, the Cornerians are finally able to attack and force the Venomian navy to retreat and withdraw from the planet. Although, Starwolf did everything within their power to counter Starfox's advance, though it ultimately had little effect on the battle. With Starfox as the spearhead, they press their attack and soon liberate several other planets in quick succession. These victories helped to inspire rebels on other planets to rise up against their oppressors.
As the Venom military was marshaling its forces for a massive counterattack, a new invasion brought the war to temporary and very tense truce. The Aparoids had come to Lylat. Despite tensions running high, Starfox, Starwolf, Corneria, and even the Venomians were all forced to cooperate in an effort to resist the Aparoids and counterattack against them. After reaching the Aparoid homeworld and killing off the Queen, Starfox instantly launches a decisive attack on Venom itself while its fleet is still tied up far from it in an effort to deal with any remaining Aparoids.
Over MacBeth, Krystal is shot down and captured. Taken to Andross, she is put through heinous experiments. Though torturous, Andross unintentionally helped teach Krystal how to better control and use her telepathy while simultaneously giving it a huge boost in power. When Starfox and the Cornerian fleet reaches Venom, Krystal uses her newfound power in telepathy to control and guide the battle as it unfolded, energizing her allies while demoralizing her enemies. The battle comes to a fast end after Fox finally reaches Andross himself and manages to kill him.
Without Andross's control, the Venom military soon fell apart as various commanders and generals sought to seize power for themselves, dividing and splitting their forces into factions. The battle was little more than a rout afterwards. In the aftermath, Starfox was declared heroes and the bounties upon them were removed. During a celebratory party, Fox asks Krystal to marry him, which she happily accepts.
