Three times the hero
Hey guys, welcome back! Just to clarify in the last chapter, I know purple draconium is not a main color, but due to Prisma having both purple and black as her draconium, I thought it would be alright. Enjoy this chapter, read, review, and favorite!
A nice warm day greeted the residents of Dragon-City, everyone enjoying themselves and going about their daily lives.
Running along a winding road, two turquoise bull-class dragons were pulling a large trailer behind them. Little did they know that they were being watched by a member of the Dragon Eye crew.
Seeing the dragons and the trailer through his binocs, Cain switched his vid-screen on. "The shipment of dragon eggs is right on time, Moordryd."
The leader of the Dragon Eye crew smirked. "Perfect! Follow it to the rendezvous and wait for my signal." He instructed before Cain switched off the screen and followed the trailer at a distance.
Meanwhile, at a dragon chow feed station in mid-city, Kitt Wonn, her dragon Wyldfyr, Iris Penn and her dragon Prisma were feeding their dragons after a ride through the city.
When Kitt first proposed to take a ride through the city with Iris, the violet-haired girl was a bit unsure, since she didn't have any human friends apart from her two brothers and Parm to an extent. Her brothers had encouraged her to go with Kitt to get to know each other for a few hours. So that is what they did, it took Iris a bit of coaxing from Kitt, but she eventually fell into a conversation with the other girl, the two chatting about everything before arriving at the feed station to give their dragons a break and feed them.
Swiping their drakkal cards through a slot, the two troughs were filled with food. "There you go, Wyldfyr."
"Eat up, Prisma," Iris said with a smile.
"Thank you Iris/Kitt!" Both dragons thanked their riders before digging into the food. As they ate, the troughs began to empty.
"Cool off and fill up." Kitt smiled as she watched both dragons eat. Iris was happy her friend was much more comfortable around Wyldfyr nowadays.
As they ate, Kitt looked over at Iris. "Prisma is looking much better today." She commented and Iris nodded.
"Yeah, she is."
It had been another few days since the Horn of Libris fiasco at the Dragon Eye compound and Prisma was healing up very nicely. She'd gotten another visit from Gwen just yesterday and the vet was very proud of how the hybrid was healing. Most of her wounds were now scarred over and she was nearly back to full strength! Iris was happy for her dragon's health!
Suddenly, a dragon roar was heard behind them and both dragons snapped their heads around, growling and advancing to the edge of the feed station, drawing their rider's attention.
"What is it?" Kitt questioned, one hand on Wyldfyr's cheek as Iris stood beside Prisma.
"What's wrong, Prisma?" Iris asked her dragon and she looked to where they had their gaze.
"It's the Dragon Eyes." Wyldfyr hissed.
"Why are they here?" Prisma wondered as she watched three members below them, the middle one was Moordryd and Descepshun, and on his right was Cain.
"Uh oh," Iris whispered, blue eyes widening as she saw what the dragons had found.
Kitt quickly switched her wrist-com on. "Artha. Iris and I are at the big chow town feed station in Mid-City. I think there's a crime in progress!"
On her screen, Artha, already in his Dragon Booster form, smiled broadly. "I'm with Lance and Parm, we're already on it."
Kitty looked around but saw no sign of Artha. "Where? How?"
"If I know Artha, which I do, he already has a plan to stop them," Iris said, hands on her hips in a playful way. Kitt looked at her as Artha chuckled.
"Thanks, Iris. I'm the Dragon Booster, aren't I?"
Kitt rolled her eyes while Iris shook her head at him. "Now don't get arrogant, Artha. Remember what happened last time?" Iris questioned with a raised eyebrow.
Artha cringed. "Yep, I remember. Please don't grab my ear again, Iris?"
"Only if you don't act like a jerk again, brother."
down below, Moordryd and his crew waited for the oncoming trailer until it was about a foot away from them.
"Now!"
They dropped down in front of the trailer and the two riders saw them and skidded their dragons to a halt! One of the riders put his hands up in surrender and was pinned to the saddle with green trapping gear fired by Moordryd. The other rider just legged it out of there as the crew members laughed to themselves.
"Where are you? It's the Dragon Eye Crew! I'm going in!" Kit declared as she saw the crime progressing.
"Kitt, wait!" Artha began to say, but she cut him off and switched her link off. She moved to go past, but Iris grabbed her upper arm. "Kitt, don't! The only thing you'll achieve by going down there is becoming a weakness when Artha shows up. Please, stay here!" Iris begged her new friend to not go in hot-headed and rash!
Kitt removed her arm from Iris' grip. "Sorry, Iris, but I have to do this." She mounted Wyldfyr and they leapt down. The violet teen's eye twitched before she exploded.
"THAT'S IT!" she raged, throwing her hands up in the air. "I QUIT BEING THE VOICE OF REASON! WHY DOES NO ONE LISTEN TO ME WHEN I SAY THEY WILL ONLY GET THEMSELVES HURT!" She ranted, pacing with a very upset look on her face as she threw her arms up in rage as Prisma watched her with concern.
While Iris was having her tantrum, Kitt and Wyldfyr blocked the trailer door, causing Moordryd to frown. "Hey!"
"One of us is about to end up with some serious egg on their faces!"
She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to see Cain. "Fried or scrambled?"
He held up a flash-stick that went off in her face, disorienting her and making her fall from the saddle. She groaned and rubbed her head as Wyldfyr snarled at the group.
"How dare you!"
Moordryd and his team laughed at Kitt's fall when the trailer door opened and showed the Dragon Booster astride Beau. The gold-clad hero grinned. "How about once over, HARD!"
Growling, Beau magged Decepshun up by her chest while Cain and Kitt watched in awe. Beau tossed the black psi dragon backward, he and the Dragon Booster then jumped out of the trailer and the black and gold dragon roared angrily. Artha quickly switched on his com-link to hear Parm who was watching from afar with binocs.
"Bad guy on the right!" He warned and Artha turned to see a crew member charging towards him.
"Get him!"
Beau magged Artha into the air and his rider performed a fancy somersault in the air, diving towards the crew member. The member tried to hit him with his blocking staff, but Artha took hold of it and flung the rider off his dragon. He twirled the staff and rested it on his shoulder.
"Hit the road," Artha smirked.
Watching from above and now calm after her little rant, Iris and Prisma watched as the crew ran off as Dragon-City security showed up. It was the first time that Captain Faier, the head of security at the Dragon-City precinct, would be meeting her brother as the Dragon Booster. She watched as the caption spoke with Artha and she glared heavily at Kitt!
Oh, she would be having a serious talk with her about rushing into things that weren't her business!
Huffing, she mounted Prisma and they rode off, unaware that a bull-class wraith dragon was watching Kitt and Artha.
Later on, down in the temple, Mortis had summoned the gang for something important.
"I have asked you all to come because I have discovered a great opportunity." He informed the five teens, well four teens and one ten-year-old.
"What is it?" Artha questioned, all of them sitting down on the floor with Beau behind them, Prisma was up in her stall, settled for the night, same with Fracshun and Cyrano.
"There is unrest within the down city crews. I have found a sympathetic member that will meet secretly with Dragon Booster, and perhaps is willing to steer the others away from crime and ultimately war!"
That sounded ominous, if the crews continued to distrust each other, yeah, it would absolutely lead to war and chaos!
"Wow, great, when do we meet him?" Artha asked.
"I have set up a meeting in Claw Alley in Squires End, you must meet him tomorrow at noon," Mortis told them, causing Kitt's face to morph into a look of shock. Iris raised an eyebrow, why did she look so shocked?
"Noon! But you have to meet Caption Faier tomorrow at noon!" There was the answer, but it raised another question, why did Artha need to meet the caption of the police force?
"Ahh, she's right!" Artha realized that both meetings would happen at the same time tomorrow.
And just when things couldn't get any worse, they did! "No, no Artha! You must race tomorrow at noon, it's a mandatory race, if you don't show up, you won't have enough points to enter the next level!" Parm mentioned and Iris face-palmed, causing Lance to look at her, three things at the same time tomorrow, just great!
"Difficult choices, too bad there's only one you, you must decide which is right," Mortis said before he walked away, leaving the teens to themselves.
"Just how in the magma draconis is are you going to figure this out, Artha?" Iris asked her brother, who looked conflicted on what to choose when Parm piped up.
"I know! We'll make three of you!"
"HUH!?" Everyone looked at him, totally confused.
"I will use my creative engineering skills to make a duplicate Dragon Booster suit, so I can go and see Caption Faier as Dragon Booster."
"I beg your pardon?" Iris asked with her eyes wide.
"I know that you haven't raced yet, Iris, but you can dress up like Artha and enter the race tomorrow. I know that Beau let you ride him when you both met Prisma, so he shouldn't mind. And Artha, you can go to the secret meeting as Dragon Booster!"
"I'm sorry, but… ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR SCALE-SCRAPPING MIND!" She screeched, causing the others to wince.
"I know nothing about racing, what makes you think I can enter that race without people being suspicious?" She questioned.
"We'll think of something," Parm said with a smile. Iris sighed and rubbed her head, feeling a headache coming on from everything that had happened that day.
After discussing it for a bit, the teens left the temple and headed out into the stables. "I don't think this plan of yours will work out, Professor," Kitt grumbled and Iris suddenly remembered she needed to do something.
"Speaking of which…" she started and reached out with her hand, grasping hold of Kitt's ear in her right hand.
"Ow! Iris, let go of my ear!" Kitt yowled, wincing as Iris dragged her by her ear inside the house. The boys and Beau all winced, knowing what that meant.
Inside the house, Iris dragged the blue-haired girl into her father's office and shut the door, despite the damage done, it was still thankfully safe. She let go of Kitt's ear and the racer whirled to face her, green eyes blazing.
"What the magma draconis was that for!?"
"Listen to me, Kitt Wonn! What you did out there today, going to stop the Dragon Eye crew after I told you not to go was a really stupid idea! Artha had it handled!" She sneered, causing Kitt to back up as the rage-filled teen stared her down.
"I wasn't going to let the Dragon Eyes win, Iris. I wanted to help!"
"Helping by ignoring me when I told you that you would become a target for the Dragon Eyes to potentially capture to lead Artha into a trap! How stupid are you?" Iris growled, hands folded over her chest.
Kitt opened her mouth to say something, but Iris stopped her. "No! No excuses, Kitt. What you did was foolish and now you might be in danger of being taken!"
The racer scoffed. "Like anyone could capture me. You don't know me, Iris."
"No, I don't, but I do know that people who become reckless and stupid often get themselves into a mess they can't get out of! Just remember that next time you get taken." Iris brushed past the racer and left the office. Kitt rubbed her sore ear, wincing, and left too, heading for Wyldfyr and riding off.
Sighing, Iris went to see Prisma, who noticed her bad mood and nuzzled her shoulder. "I'm okay, girl, just annoyed that people don't listen to me." She slumped to the ground and Prisma lay down behind her.
"Iris?" She looked up to see Artha standing in the doorway with Beau. "You okay?" He asked, coming inside and sitting down beside his sister as Beau laid down next to Prisma.
"I'm not confident about being in that race tomorrow, Artha. How am I going to go?" She questioned, running a hand through her violet hair.
Artha placed a hand on her shoulder. "I believe in you, Iris. You'll do fine tomorrow. Beau even agrees." He said as the blue and red dragon nodded, nuzzling his human sister gently.
"I'll be with you, Iris. You can count on me."
"Please look after her, Beau," Prisma growled softly to Beau, she didn't want her rider and best friend hurt in any way, shape, or form.
"I promise, Prisma."
Artha smiled at Beau, then looked at Iris. "Come on, let's go and see how you look with my racing gear on." He rose to his feet and tugged his sister up by her wrist lightly. The two teens left the stable with Beau and Prisma following.
Inside her bedroom, Iris bound her chest with some cloth to make it look flat and then put Atha's race jacket on over her shirt and tugged on a pair of pants similar to his. She tied up her hair into a bun and exhaled a breath. "Okay, Iris, let's see how you look."
She stepped out of the house wearing the outfit, Lance and Beau stood behind Artha with Prisma. Artha looked impressed. "Wow, you look almost like me, Iris." She gave a small smile at the compliment and he handed her his racing helmet. "Here, I've adjusted it to fit you for the race."
She slipped it on, it was a bit different to her helmet, but it was comfortable all the same.
"You'll be fine, once you're on top of Beau, no one will notice." Artha grinned.
"Tah dah!" Parm suddenly appeared, holding up a kid-sized Dragon Booster suit. Iris lifted the helmet off her head, holding it to her side.
"Are you serious?" she asked in disbelief.
Parm blushed with embarrassment, seeing just how badly he had messed up with the sizing. "It's uh, oh, well I must have made a little mistake in my calculations."
"That's a big little mistake you've made, Parm."
Parm hid the outfit behind his back, chuckling awkwardly.
"That's my size!" Lance exclaimed and Iris once again face-palmed.
Meanwhile, Kitt, still a bit mad about how Iris treated her, was making her way to the street track at a walking pace down a small alleyway. How dare Iris treat her like she was a child when all she had done was try and stop a robbery! She knew she could be hot-headed and sometimes overconfident, but she was the fastest racer in the city and she needed to stay focused when racing!
Hidden around a corner was Moordryd, who had been ordered by his father to capture Kitt and use her as bait to lure in the Dragon Booster.
Once Kitt and Wyldfyr were close enough, Moordryd lashed out with his drain whip, it latched onto some red thruster gear, making him scream in pain as his energy was being drained, before green trapping gear was fired at Kitt, making her gasp before knocking her out.
Back at the stables, Artha was helping Iris with her gloves when Parm walked inside. "Artha, Lance, Iris, I've done it, I've done it!"
He showed off his custom-made Dragon Booster suit, it looked just like the real deal, performing a few kung-fu moves. "Well?" He questioned, wanting to know if they liked it.
The three siblings, Beau and Prisma just stared at him before Parm's pants fell, revealing his underwear. Iris yelped and Artha quickly covered her eyes, since she wasn't wearing the helmet. Parm covered his legs with embarrassment as Lance laughed.
"Parm, go fix your pants, now," Artha ordered his friend, who shuffled out of there. Once he was gone, Artha removed his hands from her eyes. She smiled at him, one thing that she appreciated was the fact that he cared for her so much and how if she saw something she shouldn't, he would cover her eyes for her if her hands were busy with cleaning or she was holding something.
"Thank you, Artha." Iris thanked him, and her brother smiled back, and then he turned serious. "Look guys, it's almost noon, we'd better split up. Parm, you call me as soon as you're done with Dragon City Security." He ordered as Parm, now with his pants fixed, stepped back inside the stall.
"And Iris, don't worry, Kitt will be there waiting for you at the street track, you'll be okay, sis." He assured his slightly anxious sister, who looked very worried, not only was this her first time racing, but what if she had a panic attack? The only person she would have with her apart from Beau was Kitt, and she didn't know about her past like her brothers did.
Parm's pants then fell again and Artha once again covered her eyes, glaring at Parm, who hastily pulled them up.
Kitt groaned in pain as her green eyes fluttered open and once she was focused enough, they widened when she saw that she was in a large metal cage, within Moordryd's compound.
"What?"
Leaning against the cage was Cain. "Aww, don't look so upset, I'm sure your friend the Dragon Booster will try and rescue you." Cain mocked her, his arms folded over his chest.
Kitt glared at him. "You can bet on it!" She sneered, gripping the bars of her prison.
"Oh, bet on it, I'm counting on it!" Kitt growled as Cain walked away, chuckling.
He approached Moordryd. "The trap is set." He informed, referring to Kitt. Moordryd grinned. "Very drac, Cain, get the word out on the street that we have her, prepare to trap the Dragon Booster!"
Kitt looked down in shame. Iris has been right all along, she'd set herself up to be captured by the Dragon Eyes for getting involved in something she wasn't meant to! When this was all over, she was going to apologize to Iris.
At the all-city track the next day, Iris sat in the saddle as she and Beau waited at the starting line. She exhaled a breath to calm herself down, she hadn't slept much last night, constantly tossing and turning, feeling anxious about the race.
She got up that morning and dressed up as Artha to enter the race while Artha went to the secret meeting as Dragon Booster and Parm had gone to see the captain of the police force dressed up in his Dragon Booster costume.
The teen looked to her left and saw the spot where Kitt and Wyldfyr usually occupied was empty. "Wait! Kitt and Wyldfyr should be here. Where are they?" Iris questioned as the track glowed red. She knew Kitt was not one to ever miss a race, but this time she could tell something was wrong, if they weren't here, then that meant... "Oh, scales, I tried to warn her, but she didn't…"
The track glowed green and the gate opener turned before the gate went down and the race began. "…listen! Whoa!" Iris cried out as Beau took off at top speed down the track. She narrowed her blue eyes with determination and looked at Beau's energy levels.
"Okay, Beau, let's do this!"
Beau grinned. "Well done, Iris. You're doing so well." He praised her as they ran, passing two riders along the track.
Rounding a bend in the track, Iris activated the red thruster gear by pushing the left pedal of the saddle and Beau increased his speed, flying past another two racers as Iris kept a close eye on Beau's energy, making sure she wasn't draining it.
She wondered how Artha and Parm were doing with their missions, hoping Parm wasn't making a fool of himself and without Beau, Artha was defenseless. She just hoped everything was okay.
At Penn Stables, Lance was hanging out with Prisma and Fracshun, playing his video game while sitting against the stable wall.
The two dragons were laid out in the stall. Lance had fed them already and now they were just relaxing.
Prisma looked over at Fracshun. "I hope Iris and Beau are doing well."
"I'm sure they're fine, Prisma. I know Beau will protect Iris with his life since she is his human sister." Fracshun chirped to the older dragon, who huffed, flicking the end of her tail before laying her head down on the ground.
She couldn't help but worry, Iris was her rider and she was incredibly overprotective of the teen, she didn't want any harm to come to her at all!
Iris and Beau finished the race in third place, not a bad ending, and headed for the tents. "Okay, that's done," Iris said, voice a bit shaky and limbs locked up tight from how hard she'd been gripping the controls. Beau grunted and she loosened her grip, dismounting the saddle and leaning against her dragon brother as she tried to collect herself.
Beau looked at her, concern flashing across his face. She seemed to notice and patted his nose. "I'm okay, boy, just trying to wrap my head around…" she was cut off by Moordryd and Cain's voices coming from the tent right beside them.
"Any sign of the Dragon Booster?"
"Not yet," Cain answered his friend's question.
"Huh, keep Kitt on ice, the word is out and I'm sure he's on the way. I'll be back at the compound in ten minutes." The two walked away, leaving a shocked Iris and concerned Beau.
"I knew she'd been kidnapped! I tried to tell her, didn't I?" She questioned and Beau nodded his head.
She switched her wrist com-link on. "Lance, Parm, can you guys hear me?" Her screen showed static and she grumbled.
"Great! No one is answering and they don't even know Kitt's been taken." She turned to Beau. "Come on, Beau. Let's head back to the stables so I can change and we can see about getting to the compound."
Beau grinned and magged her back to the saddle and they took off for Penn Stables, arriving there in fifteen minutes. Lance came out of Prisma's stall at their arrival and noticed his sister looking a bit frantic.
"Iris, how was the race? Did you win?" The redhead asked as Iris dismounted the saddle.
"It went well. Look, Lance, I need to get changed, Kit's been taken by the Dragon Eyes and their holding her at Moordryd's compound."
"What?" Lance gasped, shocked that Kitt, the self-proclaimed street queen of racing had been taken captive so easily! Iris hurried inside the house as Lance watched her before he got an idea and hurried inside as well.
While they were inside, the dragons talked. "How was the race?" Prisma questioned, coming to stand beside Beau with Fracshun by her side.
"Good. We came third, not bad for her first real race. I'm proud of her." Beau growled softly as they waited.
"Congratulations!" Fracshun squealed, happy for his friends.
Beau smiled. "Thank you, Iris did very well today. Maybe in the future, she might try out with you, Prisma."
The hybrid snorted. "I just hope I don't get stared at by other dragons." She was still rather insecure about other dragons staring at her due to her mixed looks. She'd already gotten stared at by a bull-class dragon during the Horn of Libris race before she and Iris left due to Wyldfyr snarling at her.
Beau nosed the tri-colored dragon with his nose. "You and Iris are a strong team, Prisma, you'll both do great!"
Hearing that made the hybrid smile somewhat and she nuzzled Beau in thanks before Iris emerged from the house, now dressed in her normal clothes with her helmet tucked under her arm.
She approached Prisma, who magged on her saddle, and the teen mounted. "Iris, wait! I'm coming with you." Lance appeared, wearing Parm's other Dragon Booster suit complete with a helmet on top as he looked through the slot at the neck.
Iris vigorously shook her head. "No! Absolutely not, Lance Penn! You are not coming! It's too dangerous!"
"But I can help! Besides, you'll probably need me to help rescue Kitt if Parm and Artha aren't already there."
Iris opened her mouth, but nothing came out. Should she risk her little brother's life with this, or make him stay?
Looking down, she closed her eyes and gritted her teeth. "Uh, fine, you can come, but don't do anything stupid! Understood!"
Her brother nodded his head, making the helmet shake rapidly before Beau magged him into the saddle and they took off in the direction of the compound.
Arriving at the tall wall half an hour later, Beau and Prisma stopped and Lance dismounted Beau. "You'll have to wait here, Beau; you can't go in there as the red and blue dragon, not with me, not with… the Dragon Booster!"
Iris rolled her eyes at him. "Okay, Beau, give him a lift over the wall, Prisma and I will jump in after you."
Beau grumbled, but magged Lance up and chucked him over the wall as Prisma mag-jumped over with them, landing on the ground.
Suddenly, alarms started wailing and Iris tensed up, dismounting her dragon, grabbed Lance and pushed him behind her, pressed against a wall.
The computers in Moordryd's office flashed red, showing Lance's location with a gold star and red flashing letters. The teen grinned. "The Dragon Booster, we have him." He turned to Cain who was beside him. "Get the men." He laughed evilly.
Iris, Lance, and Prisma all had their backs to the wall and the girl peeked around the corner, seeing two crew members heading their way. She moved back and pressed a finger to her mouth, telling her brother and Prisma to both be quiet or they were done for. Why did she even agree to this?
On another part of the compound, Parm, having finished his meeting with Caption Faier, climbed his way up the wall, pulled up at the top, and noticed Kitt in the cage, as he'd been informed during the meeting that Kitt had been captured, so he'd come here to try and rescue her with Cyrano waiting for him outside.
(I don't know if he rode to the compound with Cyrano or not, but for this version, he did.)
Standing at the top of the wall, he saw the long drop to the ground below and shivered since he was scared of heights, he noticed a structure beside him and grabbed hold of it, intending to scale down it, but as he grabbed hold, it started to bend from his weight before it snapped completely, sending him falling to the ground.
More alarms went off as Parm's location was shown on Moordryd's computer. "The west wall!" Moordryd was confused now, how were there two Dragon Booster signals in two different areas of the compound?
"He must have tricked us somehow!" Cain gasped, looking a little freaked out.
Moordryd gave him a look before he spoke. "Quickly! Redirect the crew to the west wall!"
The two members that were nearly upon Iris, Lance, and Prisma then got a com-message from Cain. "To the west wall, pronto!"
They ran off, heading for the west wall. Iris peeked out again, seeing they were gone and the coast was clear for now. She looked back at her brother. "Okay, the coast is clear."
The trio moved around the wall and then spotted Kitt locked up in a large cage. "Kitt!" Lance exclaimed quietly.
"Come on, let's go." Iris urged, leading the way as Lance and Prisma followed.
Outside the compound, Beau jumped onto a higher platform to get a better vantage point, then he noticed Lance tiptoeing on the left with Iris and Prisma. The dragon stared.
"Huh?"
Then he noticed Parm coming in from the right, he shook his head, confused and not knowing which was which.
"Beau?!" A voice spoke and the dragon looked beside him to see Artha in his Dragon Booster form.
"What's going on, what are you doing here?"
"But you, but that, then who, but how?" The poor dragon looked between Artha and the other Dragon Booster figures several times. "Look down there!"
Artha looked down and saw Lance, dressed in the suit Parm had made the first time before making his own, then saw Parm coming up to the large cage where Kitt was being held, if that wasn't enough, Iris and Prisma were there too!
"You have got to be kidding me!" He pressed his com-link on his helmet. "Guys, what are you all doing?"
"Saving Kitt, Artha, what does it look like?" Iris questioned.
Artha rolled his eyes at his sister, typical of her to want to rescue Kitt even after they had fought. "Ok, it's me and Beau they're after, try and find a place to hide, we're coming in!" He informed and looked at Beau.
"First things first."
Beau flicked him onto the saddle and Artha raised his right arm, the amulet glowing brightly. "RELEASE THE DRAGON!"
Beau roared as he changed from blue and red to black and gold, sporting his chin frill and tail fins before leaping down into the compound.
He saw two members nearby. "Hey!" They turned to see him astride Beau. "Looking for me?"
Seeing them clearly freaked the crew members out and they started shaking with fright. "But you're over there!"
"And now I'm over here."
They screamed and ran off, running straight into Parm, who yelped at their sudden appearance.
"He's everywhere!" The two members screamed and took off. Parm watched them leave and thinking they left because of him, stood proudly.
"Woah, I am the Dragon Booster!"
After speaking with Artha, Iris looked at Lance, who opened the door that led onto the stage. "Hey!"
Hearing the voice, Kitt turned around. "Lance?!"
He walked over. "No, I'm the Dragon Booster!" He declared proudly.
"Aren't you a little short to be the Dragon Booster?"
"What?!"
Kitt then saw Iris and Prisma. "Iris, what are you doing here?" She was rather shocked to see the other girl with Lance.
"Saving your scales," Iris answered as she studied the lock. Kitt's face then developed a look of shame. "Look, Iris, about what you said, I'm really sorry I didn't listen to you."
Iris looked at her before she sighed. "Kitt, my instincts always tell me when something is wrong, and when you jumped down, I know that something bad will happen to you. Please don't ignore my warnings next time, okay?"
"I promise, Iris. Now can you guys get me out of here?" Kitt was ready to be a better friend to Iris and learn to trust her more when something wasn't right.
Lance pressed the buttons to see if it would open, but nothing happened. "It's locked!"
"Of course, it's locked, Lance. Go and find some gear to unlock it with while I wait here with Kitt." Iris ordered her brother, who left while she remained.
"My hero," Kitt replied sarcastically, Iris chuckled at her.
Meanwhile, Moordryd's screen was flashing with three gold star icons. "We have Dragon Booster movement everywhere!"
"It's like he can instantly travel from one place to another!" Cain looked more and more scared by the second. He grabbed hold of Moordryd for comfort.
Then Word appeared on the screen. "Have you captured Dragon Booster yet?" He asked his son.
Moordryd stuttered before answering. "I'm on it, personally!" He left the room and Cain pointed towards him before rushing off after his friend as Word shook his head.
Lance returned to the cage, carrying green deactivation gear. "Iris, look what I found?" He called and his sister turned to look at him.
"Where did you find that?" She asked.
"Amongst other gear, let's unlock this gate." He held the gear up to the lock and it activated, unlocking the door and Iris pulled it open. Kitt stepped out and in a rare show of affection, hugged the other girl. "Thank you, Iris, Prisma, and Lance for saving me!"
Iris, while a bit shocked by the hug, returned the gesture before they released each other and headed for the exit, running into Moordryd and Cain. Lance's helmet flew off and landed on the floor. Cain screamed as he saw the so-called Dragon Booster without a head. As he struggled, Lance accidentally fell through the door and Iris winced at the fall.
A roar was heard and then Beau burst through the opposite door, roaring angrily!
Cain now looked utterly terrified! "He's everywhere, he's not human!" He and Moordryd ran away, screaming for their lives.
Iris went to help Lance out of the door and handed him the helmet. "Lance, are you ok?" Artha asked his brother as Iris finished adjusting it to the suit again.
"I'm fine, I just lost my head." Beau chuckled and Iris sighed. "Be more careful next time, okay?" Lance nodded.
With Moordryd and Cain, the pair rounded a corner and suddenly ran right into Parm, they screamed as he screamed back. He made a show of attacking them and his gloves flew off and into their faces. They cried out as they struggled to remove the gloves, finally, they yanked them off, screaming in terror, and took off again.
Parm stood proudly before his pants fell again. At that moment, Artha and the others appeared through a nearby door.
"Parm, are you okay?"
Dusting off his suit, he answered, "I think I soiled the Dragon Booster suit!" Iris had a look of disgust on her face as Kitt cringed, yikes!
Returning to the computer room, Moordryd frantically began tying away. "What are you doing?" Cain asked frantically.
"I'm sealing the compound, nobody gets in or out!" He declared.
"But we'll be trapped inside with the Dragon Booster! He sounded more frantic than ever, and who could blame him after what he had seen earlier?
Moordryd pressed a button and a purple, webbed shield covered the entire compound, sparking like electricity!
Everyone looked up. "Energy barriers, we're trapped!" Kitt said and stray mag blasts hit the ground, zapping around the five teens and two dragons. Iris yelped at the mag-blasts and Prisma magged her into her saddle.
"We gotta get out of here before we get fried!"
"Anybody got any ideas?" Artha asked, seated in his saddle.
"Hopefully better than this rescue, three Dragon Boosters and not a single plan between you!" She looked at Iris and smiled. "No offense, Iris."
She shrugged it off. "None taken."
Artha's eyes lit up behind the visor as a plan formed. "That's it, Dragon Boosters, everyone get on Beau's back, I've got a plan!" He looked at Iris.
"Are you and Prisma okay to go after us, Iris?" His sister nodded her head, ready for whatever this plan he had was.
Beau smiled and nodded, Kitt flung Lance onto the black and gold dragon's back and jumped on herself. Parm stood by Beau's tail.
"Hey, could someone give me a hand?" Beau grabbed him by his tail and flung him into the air, he lost his pants, leaving him with his underwear, he yelped as he landed backward on Beau's back, facing his tail.
"I'm gonna transfer all the gear energy we've got to create a protective mag-shield, maybe we can break through the roof."
"With what, our heads?" Kitt asked with a raised eyebrow.
Artha looked back at them. "For once could we all work together!"
A mag-blast from the barrier missed Parm by inches, terrifying him. Another nearly hit Prisma and she screeched, side-stepping with a snarl.
"Everybody concentrate, that includes you too, Iris. Try and add your energy to Beau's draconium power, try and relax, and help me release the dragon!"
Everyone closed their eyes and began chanting, 'Release the dragon!' over and over again as Beau growled, glowing brightly, and was covered in an electrical mass of pure gold energy.
"It's working, we're doing it!" Parm said with a grin as he saw the electrical energy surrounding Beau.
"Time to open this can. MAG-JUMP!" Artha shouted and Beau performed a powerful jump that shot him toward the barrier, when he reached it, the energy surrounding him ripped through the barrier, destroying it as Prisma mag-jumped out of the compound and ran after Beau on the ground as he free-fell through the air.
Everyone cheered as they were now away from the barrier and Beau concentrated, his star mark glowing brightly before his gold wing flaps appeared and he glided through the air, Parmon screaming in fear as Iris and Prisma ran below them, heading for the stables.
Once they returned, Artha and Beau changed back to their civilian forms and the black-haired teen started to brush his dragon down as Iris did the same with Prisma in her stall. Lance was playing his video game while Parm was admiring the Dragon Booster suit. He sighed. "I'll miss being the Dragon Booster."
"Me too, I liked being a hero." Lance piped up.
Artha chuckled. "Well, there's only one Dragon Booster guys. But we're all heroes, and we're a team!" He said with a smile as Iris walked over, having settled her dragon down for the night.
Kitt smiled. "Nicely said, stable boy."
Lance smiled. "Yeah, the five of us, heroes!"
Artha held out his hand. "Bring it in guys." Kitt, Iris, Parm, and Lance all added their hands on top of his. Beau huffed.
"What about me?"
Then he developed a mischievous look and using his tail, tripped them all with a swipe and they all landed on the floor. He laughed at them. Artha grinned at his dragon. "Make that six."
Iris chuckled and hugged her brothers. "Thanks for helping me, guys. I couldn't have done it without you all." Her brothers smiled at her as Kitt and Parm grinned.
"Anytime, Iris," Parm said.
"I've got your back, girl," Kitt said, lightly patting her shoulder. Iris smiled happily, she had her brothers and two new human friends, plus her dragon brother and Prisma. Conner may not be around, but she was happy with what she had right here, and nothing could take that from her!
I hope you all like this chapter. Till next time, dragon riders!
