Heart to Heart
Chapter 61: Teammates
Jaune was in the bathroom of his shared room with Yang brushing his teeth, thankfully since these dorms were made for a team there were two sets of showers and sinks since normally this was a room for four people. This basically allowed for each of them to have their own sinks as evident with all the products Yang had on her sink. Granted ever since he got his new haircut, he also had been keeping some product to help keep it looking good.
Yang had been a large help with that, before he just kind of combed it and that was it. Looking back his hair had had this almost bed hair look to it most of the time.
Jaune was currently in his boxers having slipped out of bed letting Yang get a few more minutes in as he yawned and spat out some of the toothpaste. That's when he heard a familiar yawn as Yang's feet hit the hard surface of the room.
"It's a good thing these floors are heated because I swear, I would kill someone waking up every day with my bare feet hitting cold floor," Yang said covering another yawn.
Jaune looked in the mirror to see her hair disheveled and rubbing one of her eyes. He also noticed she had on panties and his old hoodie she had taken to using it as a night shirt give how large it was on her. She said it was nice and warm for bed, he also couldn't help but notice how her chest stretched out the bunny image on it slightly.
She hugged him from behind as she laid her head on his shoulder.
"Hmmm, nice and warm here." He said hugging him. "You left me cold and alone in bed mister."
"I had to get up," he reached up and rubbed her good hand. At least the rooms were nice and heated or else her robot arm wound also be cold to the touch in the morning. Although that didn't stop him from enjoying the feeling of her pressed up against him. Even after all this time together he still got excited by such intimate touching, and he hoped he never got tired of it.
He noticed her eyes shut as she looked like she wanted to fall asleep right there. "Come on Yang, we got another full day ahead of us."
Yang groaned. "Can't we get some days off? We been working nearly twenty-four seven since we got here. I miss it when we could have days off."
"So do I but we got plenty of work ahead of us," he told her.
"Can't blame a girl from trying," Yang sighed. "I miss going out on dates but we're so tired after work."
"We weren't so tired last night," Jaune commented.
"That's to make up for not being able to go out on dates," Yang smirked as she leaned over to kiss his cheek. "Plus, I'm not complaining, are you?"
Jaune had to admit, he never really thought he could get a girlfriend that was a big of a knockout as Yang was, let alone all the stuff they got up to when they were alone. He just wanted to enjoy his time with her. "I wish we did have time for doing all the usual dating stuff. I want to take you out dancing, or seeing a movie, even just hanging out with everyone but we're kept so busy."
Yang nodded her head. "I wish we started dating in Beacon, then we could have had plenty of dates back then."
Jaune smiled, "When was I supposed to ask you out? Before or after I threw up on your shoe?"
Yang giggled, "Oh yes, that's one way to get into a girl's heart, mess up her footwear. Still, if only I knew then what I knew now."
"I think we all wish for that given what happened," Jaune's tone turned melancholy at the memory of Beacon's fall and all that happened to them on that day. Yang felt the phantom pain in her robot arm as she hugged him just a little bit more knowing he was thinking about Pyrrha's death. They all suffered that day, they eventually came out stronger for it but that day left a permanent mark on all of them that would leave a scar for life.
"Okay I'm changing the subject before both of us get depressed again," Yang told him only half joking. It was their relationship that helped to pull them both out of a dark place in life and either could easily slip back into it. "You need to get more condoms, we're down to two and I want to enjoy my man before my next time of the month shows up."
Jaune signed hating having to do this, he felt embarrassed every time.
Yang saw his look in the mirror and lightly punched his arm. "Hey, I have to buy the first time, you know what's that like for a girl? Wondering if the cashier or the person behind you in line is judging you as a slut for buying them?"
"What!? Yang, you're not a-" he didn't finish as she placed a finger on his mouth.
"I know but it's a double standard," Yang told him. "Unless you want to buy all my feminine products?" She grinned at him.
Even growing up in a household of eight women, Jaune still did not want to deal with that. "I'll get some more after work today." He said defeated.
She kissed his cheek, "Good boy."
She reluctantly got off him as she went to the shower pulling off the hoodie as Jaune stopped brushing his teeth to get a look at her backside. He never got tired of looking at his girlfriend, she had this perfect balance between athletic and female sexiness. He quickly turned to spit out the last of the toothpaste and rinsed it out as he heard the shower go on.
"Hey Jaune?" Yang's voice called from the shower.
"Yes?"
"Think you can help me with my hair?"
Jaune knew that she didn't really need help, but it was just an excuse for them to fool around in the shower. His blood was starting to pump at the thought of it. "We nearly missed breakfast last time."
"If we can get my hair done quickly, how about a quickie in before breakfast?" She offered in that tone that really made it hard for him to say 'no' to. Pausing to think about it for a second, he quickly threw off his article of clothing and joined her.
Later that day after breakfast it was team assignments as per usual with the daily briefs. It was odd how at first, they were all excited by this prospect but now it was so repetitive. It was the same old missions, one team of two out for the transfer of materials for Amity, patrolling missions in various points in Mantel. Maybe they would get something new or unique like smuggling operations but those were very rare. Apparently, there were rumors of a major smuggling ring run by someone only known as the Crooked Man, but they had no real information about the person, not even their real name.
At any rate that was low on the priorities list.
There was still time before everyone went off on their missions as the usual mingling was going on. People comparing notes on missions or just small talk before they had to leave for the day's work. Winter however was feeling a little apprehensive. She had hoped to talk to Marrow about the issue with the public outlook of going together for that event, but he was with the Ace Ops.
She knew if she didn't do this now, she was going to pull him away or wait until the end of the day and she had already pushed this off too late. She should have talked to him the moment she realized what people were saying. Steeling herself she walked over to the Ace Ops group.
"Specialist Marrow, I would like to talk with you…in private." She cast a look to the others.
"Well, I think we better get going, we all got a long day," Clover nodded as most of the others left.
"Aw, I wanted to see this," Elm sighed as Harriet pulled the larger woman away with her.
"So, what did you want to talk about, ma'am?" He asked a littler nervous. Why was she here? Was she here to talk about what happened at the Schnee manor or something else? She looked a little hesitant something he had never seen her before now.
"I just wanted to make sure that we understood each other," Winter started out, honestly, she wasn't sure how to go about this. She didn't want to make a fool out of herself but also didn't want to give him any ideas. "I understand that images of us together last night have been circulating and wild stories have been showing up."
Marrow sighs, "Yes, I've been made aware, honestly it's kind of embarrassing to be in the spotlight like this."
"It is something one has to get used to," Winter had to fight back her own sign from before she joined the military. All those years of events, galas, parties that she had to go to growing up and all the media coverage on her and her family.
"I couldn't even imagine how you had to get used to that," Marrow told her. "That had to be difficult growing up under a magnifying glass."
Indeed, it was, every little action she took in public and even in private was speculated on, analyzed, debated, and argued over. She was so glad that when she left home to join the academy it all died out, well a few months after she joined. There were so many news agencies wanting the big inside story of why the former heiress of the world's largest and most powerful company just gave it all away.
Of course, like all things something new came up and she was quickly forgotten about. That night at her father's party however she was sure it brought back all the vultures. Showing up with a Faunus date most likely will have people talking for a few weeks.
"I apologize for putting you through all that," she slumps her shoulders a bit. "I had forgotten what that life it like and now I put you into that position."
"It's fine, I mean it's only words, right?" Marrow scratched the back of his head.
"Yes, but I know how difficult it can be to ignore said words." She had a bit of scorn in her words. She had learned to get a thick skin with certain things. Although Qrow always seemed to get under it so easily, one of the many reasons she got so annoyed with him.
"Well if I let words get me down, I wouldn't have gotten where I was," Marrow said and then saw the questioning look. He didn't like to bring this up, but it was hard to be a Faunus in Atlas. Mantel had lost the war and had been annexed by Atlas so long ago but some divides from that war still lingered even today.
"Not everyone wanted a Faunus in the Atlas military let alone as a Specialist," he explained to her. He remembered some of the harassment he got in his four years of training in the academy. He remembered a few higher ups in his chain of command that didn't want one of 'his kind' in their unit. It wasn't everyone thankfully, but there were a few bad apples.
Winter's face took on a darker look at the mention of that. She too had seen Faunus members being harassed. When she got into a position of command, she put a stop to that in an instance. Anyone found disgracing the uniform in such a way she put them in their place. She made it no secret she would not tolerate anyone under her command with that kind of attitude. Granted there were others outside of her command she couldn't touch. What really got her angry was that they were supposed to be better than this, anyone that put on the uniform did so with the understanding that a certain set of values went with it.
"That's distasteful," she bit out. "You've more than earned your right to be here."
"I know," he smiled at that. "I got here despite what a few people wanted and I'm going to show them that I won't be held back just because of who I am."
She can't help but respect the man in front of her for his words. He was exactly the type of person that the Atlas military needed.
He noticed the small but warm smile she was giving him, normally she had her face so controlled but seeing her smile even a little made a total change in her. He couldn't help but notice in this time her light blue eyes, the white hair framing her fair skinned face. How her features cut a very elegant beauty to her. He coughed into his hand trying to distract himself from his thoughts going too deep.
"At any rate I also have my team to rely on," He continued. "It's nice to have teammates since you know they have your back, especially out in the field."
Winter's smiled fell a bit, she had just been thinking about that earlier. The old days with her own team while in the academy. "Unfortunately, my job is much more solitary than before."
He saw how she schooled her features again and for a moment he was wondering if she was lonely. He hadn't seen her with anyone else, granted the Ace Ops were a team but working with Ruby and her friends had made Marrow start to wonder about something. He had seen how close they all were together; their teamwork was excellent, and they all talked and laughed and joked around. Sure, the Ace Ops were nice but after work they hardly ever hung out.
After work they sometimes go out to this place near by for a drink but that was basically it.
"Yeah, we're all kept pretty busy lately huh?"
"This…has been trying times," Winter knew that ever since their return from Beacon's fall things had been busier than normal.
"You know, after missions my team and I like to stop at this one place to relax, they got some nice food and it's a way to unwind a bit. Let out some pressure, you're more than welcome to join us, you're a Specialist too and work extremely hard."
"I…" she paused not sure what to say at that point. On the one hand she liked to keep things professional but on the other, she did miss the comradery of other members.
"I mean if you want that is," He didn't want to seem like he was pushing for something. He just figured that maybe hanging out with other Specialists would be nice for her. She was always alone or by the General's side. He didn't see her with anyone else other than her sister from time to time or working with Team RWBY.
He remembered how nice it was when he and Jaune would talk over morning coffee, getting to know others outside of your unit was a good way to make friends and also learn about the people you work with. Another advantage was that they were all in the know, they knew about things that they didn't have to lie or keep secrets about.
"It's just that we all work together but we don't really know much about each other," Marrow shrugged. "Team moral and all that, esprit de corps as they say in training."
Winter remembered that phrase being throw around a lot in Atlas Academy. It would seem she was thinking a lot about her younger days today. She remembered her own team having a ritual of going out after passing an assignment or test. She looked over to see her little sister off to the side with her team and how much Weiss had changed since she last saw her. Weiss smiled more, was more relaxed and also stronger now.
Winter found that she missed that sense of being part of something. Sure, she felt she was a part of the military, but she missed being a part of something more intimate.
"Perhaps I will, at least for today." She stated.
"Really? Oh! Great, nice, let me get you the location," He pulled out his scroll and sent it to her. Thankfully everyone on Ironwood's personal group had each other's contacts for mission related reasons.
"Marrow!" Clover called over. "You're going to be late."
"Oh! Right, was there anything else?" Marrow asked her.
"I shouldn't keep you, you may leave," she dismissed him as he nodded and quickly made to the exit. She watched him leave and then turned to leave herself. Maybe it would be nice to reconnect with other members of the military again. As she walked, she couldn't help but feel she had forgotten something.
Then she paused and nearly smacked her forehead. "Damn it."
She had forgotten to talk to him about their 'date' being not a real date and making sure he understood that. Oh well she could just tell him again when…she met him…for drinks…oh no.
Had she done it again? Had she inadvertently accepted an offer for a drink date? No, no it was with his team for team bonding, right? She was over thinking things, she had to be. Still that nagging question was in the back of her mind and just wouldn't leave her alone.
With a frustrated sigh she went back to her office, maybe focusing on work would take her mind off it.
-Atlas Safe house-
Adam was sitting in a corner sharpening his new sword, he had already done this but caring for the blade was not only something to do it also focused him. He stopped as he stared at the artificial hand, the black metal had a sheen to it as he flexed it. He could see it move but he couldn't really feel it, he couldn't feel a lot of his body these days. He could feel where the flesh was merged with metal, at first it bothered him as every movement was a reminder of what was done to him.
But in the weeks since his operation he soon started to get used to the feelings and sensations or lack thereof in some cases. At least he finally had depth perception again with the new red glowing artificial eye to replace the one destroyed by the SDC brand that had been on it. He placed the sword on the table as he looked out at Atlas.
He would so very much to see this whole city burn and come crashing down. In the past he had this all-consuming hatred that burned away at him. Now that rage was cooled and focused, a small white-hot flame that he wanted to destroy everything. The world had given him nothing but pain and suffering, the few times he thought he had actually found something good to latch onto; he was left disappointed or worse.
He thought the White Fang that had taken him in would allow him to strike back at those that hurt him and others like him. But they didn't go far enough, even Sienna Khan who he once respected had ended up disappointing him and needed to be removed. Just like the Belledonnas had to be removed when she had taken over.
That thought brought him back to the one that hurt him not the most, but that had cut deep.
Blake.
The one he once thought he could have loved for the rest of his life, he thought he had found his partner, the one that would stand with him by his side through everything. The day on the train when she proved him wrong was the deepest wound he had felt. Well after the cliff fight with her and that blonde woman he had taken an arm from, there was no longer any love in his heart for her, or anyone really.
He crawled out of hell, and it left him changed both physically and mentally, he left something behind that day. He woke up on that operating table with more than just his flesh missing, something else had been removed that day as he was reborn into something new. First, he could get even with Blake, then the blonde he would finish what he started with her arm, then the rest of the world could burn around him.
He just didn't care anymore he wanted the world to suffer or maybe it was he just wanted everyone to see the world for what it was. This was a cruel world filled with monsters and not just the Grimm, it was filled with betrayal, with death, with violence, with hatred. He saw that now, and he saw he was no different. He would show the world it's true nature.
He remembered how humans would call him a beast; well they were right. He would show the world the kind of beast he was.
A tapping on the desk caught his attention as he looked to Neo, the mute girl that worked with Salem although he knew she had worked with Torchwick before his death. He didn't know the full details, but he had listened to enough conversations between the girl and Cinder to put two and two together.
"What?" Adam asked.
Neo smiled as she placed what looked to be a magazine on the table. It was one of those tabloid ones and he was about to dismiss it until he saw the image on the cover with Blake with shorter hair and in a fancy dress with that Schnee teammate of hers also dressed up.
What caught his attention was them linked arm in arm with the article suggesting they were there together. Now it wasn't that Blake was seeing another person man or woman that got that fire in him burning hotter, it was who she was with. A Schnee of all people, the people that owned the company that made his young life a living hell, that branded him.
Neo had seen this article on the way back to the safehouse and she couldn't resist showing it to him. Mainly because the man was being such an emo edge lord in her opinion she might as well use it. She could see the red glowing eye get even brighter as his face took on a cold and furious look.
She pulled out her scroll an activated a text-to-speech function. Normally she didn't like to use this, but she wasn't going to hand over her scroll to him in case he crushed it given his obvious anger. [So, you're Ex is doing well it seems]
"I'm going to kill her," Adam said glaring at the image in a cold tone like he was ordering a meal. "Working with a Schnee is bad enough but this, I'm going to make her watch as I rip out that Schnee's eyes." That would be poetic justice in his mind. That family took one of his, might as well return the favor with interest. "Then I'm going to make that blonde's left arm and right arm match."
[Just remember, Little Red is mine] Neo's scroll said in a dull emotionless tone as she finished typing. This was another reason she hated using this program, there was no emotion in it. She got on fine but sometimes she needed to communicate. A pain in her heart filled her as she remembered how Roman never needed help in understanding her. He always seemed to know what she was thinking.
No one had been as close to her as he had been. When she had landed after Ruby used her umbrella against her she had tried to find Roman. He hadn't been at the safe house, so she tried to find the wreckage of the ship. The only thing she had found was his hat, the same one sitting on her head. Roman loved his hat and she knew, knew that he would never allow himself to lose it if he were still alive.
The twisted-up pain inside of her wanted nothing more than to kill Ruby and then maybe she could finally feel some sense of peace.
"Fine by me," Adam said gripping the paper as he stared at it.
"Then maybe we should start thinking about how to deal with them," Cinder spoke up getting Adam's attention. The woman had been left crippled by Blake's team just like he was. Maybe in another life he could see them being allies but he knew in the end that they were both just using each other. That was fine with him, as long as he got what he needed the rest of the world could burn and he had a feeling that Cinder was just the kind of person that would do just that.
"Since I have a feeling that Watts is already doing this usual work we need to get in there and get that Relic," Cinder looked at Neo. "We're going to need access to the building."
Neo rolled her eyes knowing she would have to sneak in and get it because of her semblance. Well, it wouldn't be the first time she snuck through Atlas security, it wasn't exactly designed with someone like her in mind after all.
-Atlas Barracks Rooms: Guest Section-
Oscar was along in the room since Nora and Ren were taking the afternoon to go out. He wasn't sure but something seemed to have changed recently between the two. Sure, he knew they were dating but they seemed a bit closer of late. He caught little gestures between them, little whispers that made one or both blushed slightly.
Honestly, he was wondering if he should just see about getting a new room, this section had plenty since it was for foreign students when the Vytal Festival was taking place in Atlas, so these rooms would be empty for the foreseeable future.
On the table in front of him is the lantern as it's gold and blue form caught his eye. At times he forgot that there was a giant lady stuck in there although she seemed fine with it. He blushed remembering when she came out basically 'naked', well at least she was anatomically correct as a doll. He wasn't sure what to do if she had all the bits and pieces a regular woman had. He looked over the literal divine item, something created by the gods.
It was kind of overwhelming when you thought about it, this thing that was a foot away from him was not only proof that the gods existed but was created by them as well.
He looked away, he had enough on his shoulders as is.
Looking down in front of him was a cloth and a disassembled pistol. After that day in the firing range with Ruby he was looking to getting a secondary weapon for range. The pistol while smaller than Ironwood's hand cannon, this was more his size. He had been learning how to take it apart and put it back together again. He had the manual for it as he was following the instructions, at first it took him awhile to get it done but the more he did it the easier it got.
A knock on the door startled him a little as he was so focused on his task.
"Come in."
The door opened as Ruby looked in. "Hey, this a bad time?"
"Never, come on in," He was glad to see her, for various reasons.
She happily walked in and then saw what he was doing and suddenly was laser focused on the weapon parts. "Oh, did you get a sidearm!?"
"Yeah," He nodded. "I asked General Ironwood to try this out and he got me one, he had it with me when we were training again today."
"How is that going?" Ruby asked.
Oscar sighed. "He's pretty intense and doesn't go easy, but I do think I am learning a lot from him. Even if I do feel sore all over until my aura fixes it."
"You'll get better, trust me." She pulled up a chair next to him so she could sit down and look at the weapon. "What have you been doing?"
"Mainly learning how to take it apart and put it back together so I know how to keep it maintained."
Ruby nodded appreciating him learning the basics. "A very important thing to know."
"Well having a girlfriend who is into weapons helps," He smiled and then blushed a bit. This was the first time he said out loud that she was his girlfriend. Yes, they had gone out on an actual date-date but it was still very new. He cast a look to the side to see a small blush with her smiling. "I mean…that is what we are right?"
"Yeah, we are," She shifted a little nervously. They had been basically a couple but hadn't said the words yet. It was strange, and new experience for the both of them as this was the first relationship either of them had ever had. So, there was a lot of awkwardness and confusion on what to do, between the two of them.
"You don't think it's odd?" Oscar asked her. "I mean I know I'm younger than you…"
"Please," Ruby waved it off. "You're the same age when I started in Beacon, if I dated anyone at that point that would be pretty hypocritical of me to say you are too young for me. Plus I don't think people will look twice when you're twenty and I'm twenty-two."
"I'm still surprised no one tried, asking you out I mean," He shrugged. "I think you're amazing."
Ruby blushed deeper, she always appreciated his compliments because she could tell they were his honest feelings. She always tried to be 'normal' and kind of slip into the background growing up that this kind of attention felt nice for once. "Well, I was so focused on being a Huntress I didn't really think about boys yet…also again, two years younger than everyone else in my grade which only got worst with higher grades at Beacon. I don't think a lot of people would want to date someone ask young as me back then."
Besides the only nice guys she had met in her classes were Jaune and Ren, Ren was too quiet for her to think of as someone to be romantic about. Not to mention seeing Nora and Ren together now, there was no way anyone was getting between that. Jaune however was more like the older brother she wished she had, especially growing up. There might have been others but she was never good with making friends and outside of her team and JNPR she had all the friends she needed.
'Then again, if Yang and Jaune get married I'd have him as a brother-in-law,' she thought to herself. Raven and her dad apparently had gotten married right after Beacon, so it wasn't out of the realm of possibility.
"Well, they missed out on someone wonder then," He told her, she smiled as she reached out and touched his hand as they held each other's hands looking into each other's eyes for a moment.
Ruby broke the look at she went back to the weapon. "So, have you done a function test yet?"
"A what?"
Ruby went into lecture mode as she explained. "Every time you put a weapon apart and put it back together again you have to do a function test to make sure the weapon is working."
She saw the manual and turned the page. "There. Let's try this out when you put it together."
Oscar read the instructions and nodded, putting the pistol back together went quickly.
"Okay it says that on this model you have to check it's not loaded."
"I unloaded it after training," Oscar blinked.
"I know but you should always check, every time you pick up a weapon, every time you are finished with it." Ruby went into the mantra her uncle Qrow often instructed. Weapon safety was an important class at Signal, and you literally would be held back a year if you failed it, even if all your other classes were passing grades. "We'll come to the safety check later, first the function test."
Ruby reads out the steps as Oscar does what she says. There were a lot of steps to keep track of so Ruby helped him a few more times and then let him do it on his own, only helping when he was stuck. After about thirty minutes he needed a break. It was nice just hanging out with Ruby and it was also fun seeing how excited she was with weapons. She even asked if later if he wanted to modify it, she could help him with that. First, he wanted to get used to the new weapon, it felt odd for him to have a weapon like this at his age but then again, most people who ended up being trained Huntresses or Huntsmen usually handled weapons a couple of years earlier.
He stretched out, "Well I could use a break."
"Yeah, want to get some snacks?" Ruby offered.
"I think I saw some cookies left over," He smiled knowing her weakness for cookies.
"Then let's go get them!" She stood up, he joined her and took the firs step. Although they hadn't noticed that Oscar's foot was on the edge of her cape. Ruby stumbled and landed into Oscar which caused him to fall as both youths fell onto the ground.
"Ow," Ruby moaned landing on top of Oscar. "Oscar are you…"
She trailed off as she noticed how she had landed on him. Once again Oscar felt his face pressed up against two very nice pillowy body parts. Of course, Oscar was just wondering how in the world this happened to him twice in such a short period and this time he could play it off.
'They do feel very nice though,' a traitorous thought entered his mind.
Ruby immediately sat up. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry Oscar!"
"I-it's fine, accidents happen," He could see the blush on her face and feeling how heated his face was he knew that it was the same for him. "Sorry for uh…you know…"
Ruby shyly nodded as she mentally cursed how clumsy she could be. This was the second time she had done something like that to him. Of course, now she was thinking, did he think her weird for doing this to him? They were still pretty new at this, and she had no idea how far was too far exactly. Also, did he like what he felt? She wasn't in her sister's league in body shape, but she had grown a bit since Beacon. Oscar always said she was pretty, so a part of her was wondering just which parts or was he talking about more than just her looks?
Then she thought about how Neon would cuddle him close to her chest all the time and something twisted in her guts at that thought.
"Oscar?" She tentatively asked him.
"Yes?"
"Do they…feel nice?" She blushed at the question but the image of Neon always pulling Oscar into hugs and that girl pressing her breasts against him keep nagging at her mind. Oscar looked up dumbfounded, had she really just asked him that? Of course they did but the words died in his throat.
She looked at him when he didn't answer. "Do Neon's feel better?"
Why was she asking about that? The boy wondered and saw the annoyed look on Ruby's face. So, he just said the first thing that came to mind.
"No, they don't, yours feels better," He turned bright red as he felt embarrassed, he just admitted to it.
"Do you…do you think I'm attractive?" She shyly asked him as she felt better now that he said hers were better than Neon's. She had nothing against the girl, but she was too close to Oscar. Just because the girl loved 'cute things' didn't mean Neon could just treat her boyfriend like some kind of cuddly stuffed animal.
His eyes widened a bit at the question. "Of course, Ruby the first moment I saw you I, well I couldn't look away."
"I know you said I'm pretty but, well you know…you're the only person that's said these things to me." She felt special when he told her these things. She actually did feel pretty when he said it and it was a new experience for her.
"Then everyone else is blind," he told her honestly.
Ruby giggled at that as she smiled, she felt her chest warm up with how much he liked her. He thought she was pretty, he thought she was courageous and smart. All her life she had felt like she had lived in her sister's shadow until Beacon. When she was made leader, she was forced out and while she liked to think she had grown, it was hard to get over feelings like this. She did feel jealous at times for Yang's ability to make friends more easily than her, to be so confident and outgoing.
So having someone see her for who she was felt better than she thought. She knew Jaune had and that was why he was her best male friend, but Oscar not only saw this but saw her as a girl. Someone he wanted to be with and to be honest she returned those feelings. He was so kind, he had a big heart and despite the enormous pressures he was under, he still went through with it.
He could have hidden out on the farm or told people he was hearing voices and most likely would have ended up in a hospital for life, but he chose the harder path. To take a leap of faith and kept on moving down this hard path full of danger and uncertainty. Instead, he kept with it because it wasn't the easy thing to do, but the right thing to do.
She leaned down again as she slowly kissed him, he was surprised but soon his hands found her waist as the single kiss turned into another, then another, then she felt their tongues battling it out moaning in the pure pleasure of it all.
Eventually they pulled away flushed, breathing hard looking into each other's eyes.
"So…when are Nora and Ren supposed to be back?" She asked breathing a little harder.
"They were going to be gone for a bit," He wasn't sure how long, but they had plenty of time.
Ruby bit her lip, the things he brought out in her, these new passionate feelings were both amazing as they were terrifying. "So…we got the place to ourselves?"
"Yeah, but you mind if we take this to my bunk? The floor is kind of hard." He was feeling the pain starting to sink in with laying on the flat marble like floor. Her weight on him wasn't helping.
"Oh, right," She sat up and then felt something poking her. "Huh, what's that?" She wiggled her hips as Oscar yelped and then groaned.
"R-Ruby, that's my, you know, my…" he blushed.
Soon Ruby's face matched his as she realized what was poking her butt. She also realized the situation they were in with her straddling him. With a yelp she jumped up looking off to the side embarrassed.
"S-sorry, I mean it's natural, but you know, I didn't mean to," She stammered out.
"I know, I'm sorry, I couldn't help it, it just happens and stuff," he said at the same time.
Both of them were awkward unsure what to do as he tried to hide his body's reaction to her. He really wished the ground would just swallow him up by this point. Ruby felt just as embarrassed although one small part of her did cast a quick look. She had done that she had gotten that reaction out of him. Not Yang, not Weiss, Blake, Nora or anyone else. The thought that her boyfriend was excited by her gave her some mixed emotions.
Nothing bad but she was confused on what to do, embarrassed this happened, curious what about her got this reaction out of him and a bit of her was starting to get a type of thrill out of it. Although she knew both of them weren't anywhere near ready for anything more, she didn't exactly want to stop what they were doing.
Silently she took his hand and led him to his bunk.
"R-Ruby?"
"It's only natural right?" She blushed shyly as she got onto her side and pulled him in. He lay down next to her their faces inches away. "I'm not sure what to really do as a girlfriend."
"I'm not really sure what to do as a boyfriend." He smiled feeling some relief.
"Then let's find out but, slow right?" She asked.
He nodded his head. "Yeah slow, honestly this is really nice right here." He caressed her cheek as she smiled at his touch loving the feel of caress.
"Well, there is one thing I know what we can do," She leaned in for a kiss as he did the same. The two of them did just that, enjoying their time together in the bunk enjoying being with the other. At most she felt around his chest, arms and back enjoying the feeling of his developments from both his farm living and the training was doing. For him he liked the little moans she made when he caressed her hip. At one point he did attack her neck which she found very nice running a hand through his hair as he did so.
After awhile the two young love birds would just lay there staring into each other's eyes as they would just talk, talk about their pasts, things going on, their teammates. For the first time in a long time both of them just forgot the world around them, the pressures of it all and were just relaxing with each other.
TBC…
Well I have two things to say, first I want to thank everyone that got this story to over 900 reviews by this point that means a lot.
Now onto the sad news, for chapter 1 someone gave a very hateful comment that proved they didn't know me or even read the story and was very insulting. Now saying something bad about the story fine, but a personal attack on me that's just wrong, especially from a place of ignorance. I reported the 'review' but apparently the Admins just don't care and I hate I can't get rid of it.
